Great shredder. Cuts to very small pieces. Excellent card slot to destroy old bank cards.
This works perfectly well, and shreds the paper you put into it quickly and effectively. It’s a little noisy, but nothing that will have you clutching your ears. The paper bin holds a fair bit more than it would if you were using a standard cross cut shredder, as the bits are considerably smaller.
Haven’t tried it with any credit cards so far, but I see no reason why it wouldn’t work just as well for those.
Although this claims to shred 6 sheets of A4 at a time, don’t even waste your time trying – I’ve yet to find a shredder outside of industrial grade ones that does that, despite them claiming so. I’d say 4 sheets is a limit, although at that it will be slow, so stick to 3 maximum.
I assume this will need oiling now and then to lubricate the blades, but I couldn’t find anything about that in the instructions, so I’d suggest just getting a bottle of oil for shredders and putting some through it every now and then.
And it comes with a year warranty so at least if it stops working you can always get it replaced.
The only negative I can say really is that it doesn’t shred the paper small enough. Also when inserting certain type of paper you get long shreds (as long as the A4 paper!) which can easily be read. It’s not destroying information into minute pieces therefore I would not buy again (for this reason only) otherwise a good buy
A good shredder, no complaints thus far. Compact, easy to use, easy to empty. Shredded a fair amount, mainly one sheet at a time and no problems. Also shredded some old ID cards and had no shredder problems. Very happy with my purchase. Delivery very quick too, was due on a Sunday and arrived on the Friday.
Great shredder that cuts paper, card and credit cards easily and effortlessly.
One small point is quite noisy and tends to run on a small amount of time after the final shred otherwise no complaints and happy with how it works and the price!
It’s pretty small and very lightweight, which makes it not super steady. I’d prefer the bucket to be much heavier, so it won’t wobble when I’m use.
I bought this to replace a Fellowes shredder which ‘died’. This machine functions well, with straightforward options. I have used it about 10 times so far (occasional user) and it has done the job well.
Bought this based on other reviews stating how quiet this unit is so paid a lot more than other cheaper models based on this. Well it is far from it, it is even noisier than my old cheap unit. Other than that it shreds OK although the area you put the paper into is very slim and not that easy to use.
So far so good , useful for shredding personal post and junk mail
Good product the only downside is it can only be used for a few mins before stopping to let the motor cool. This is normal and not a faul
The usual thing with such equipment. It works well, but does not like overloading which is warned about anyway. Cross shreds ae described. I’m pleased with this.
I love the look, size and handle. I’ve used it to shred a good amount of paper ranging from 4-6 sheets for an hour. The shredder did not cut out from overheating. So far so good. This is one of the best purchases in shredders so far. I’ve owned 4, and they didn’t last for 1 year.
Apart from this shredder being the best home or small office, t deserves all the 5 stars and positive reviews it has already had.
All praise is true sand deserved, however I am more than pleased with the extra ‘bonus’ that no one so far has mentioned.
I recently changed my cat’s litter to a recycled paper one = Breeder Celect Recycled Paper Cat Litter 30L, anyway the paper ‘confetti’ this shredder produces is just as good used on its own or mixed with cat litter keeping the litter bills down.
BUT THE REAL EXTRA BONUS IS, seeing your cat do it’s business on old bills etc (especially final demands).
Does the job for me. Short of space so this smaller shredder is perfect size. Not tried credit cards but works well with paper.
Easy to use, gives a warning if overloaded or overheating (I had it going for about an hour before the overheating light came on).
Chops paper, credit cards and staples really well. Ideal for tidying up old paperwork, bills etc.
A nice piece of kit; robust and solidly built. Not stupidly expensive and a doddle to set up and operate. Plug in and off you go. I’m not too sure it would cope in a commercial environment but in an average domestic setting I would suggest this is a more than adequate machine.Just a note… I never put staples and other bits of stationary metalwork through a shredder, I don’t know, probably just me! I’ve had it a good few months- as I say, a nice piece of kit.

he unit looks small and nicely compact but as soon as you handle it you can see and feel the sturdiness of the shredder will handle up to six sheets at a time brilliant machine and its secure.
This is my second shredder from this company, my first one broke and Amazon refunded me. It performs well and is useful to have.
Good item for a decent price. Is quite noisy and collection bin could have been stronger so take care when fitting the shredding head. However works well and gives small shreds so total confidentiality.
Very pleased with the product. The cutting mechanism cuts very small so you cannot read the contents again when cut. I cannot comment on the duration of use as yet, as I have only tested it on several sheets of paper.
I’ve been looking for a shredder like this for a while and it has exceeded my expectations, as besides being good value for money, it holds quite a lot and cross shreds a couple of pages together efficiently. This shredder is easy to set up and use. It’s compact so don’t take up too much room. Just remember not to put too many sheets in at once to shred as it will get stuck
This shredder is everything it says it is on the box, quiet in operation, smooth shredding in to tiny pieces we are very pleased with it.
This is better than my last printer. The micro is good everything in small bits and scrunched. It does over heat which is what my last one did but I just let it cool down before using again.
Had to get a new shredder my other one from Amazon the paper stuck and could not release it plus it was heavy and bulky. This one is fine so far not as sturdy but does the job. Luckily don’t have that amount of paper to shred. Would recommend this shredder.
My shredder is coming up to 12 months of use which has been fault free and doing a great job. The shredder has a safety catch, that is depressed by a thin piece of plastic within the bin. This broke off (more than likely operator error). Contact made with vendor who quickly sorted a replacement – impressed with shredder and supplier.
The shredder arrived the next day, easy to set up and very efficient. I have been able to shred confidential sheets and the bits are easy to dispose of.
A great little shredder. It does deal with 6 sheets at a time as stated but I must admit I usually only put 4 in at a time. I’m very pleased with it and would recommend it. Shreds credit cards no problem.
I found the waste bin to feel thin and cheap. The shredder works well. As for reliability it’s too early to tell but it works well and shreds as it is meant to do. I would recommend this shredde

After 9 months of trouble free use, I had some loud noises from the shredder. After contacting their customer service I was pleasantly surprised about how friendly and how quickly the staff responded. It was decided that my shredder needed replacing and I have a new one in 2 days . Fantastic service
Although the specification says A4 I had expected that it might be slightly wider to take the envelopes used for A4 paper. This is not so. The bin part of it is not very sturdy. It looks like some sort of compressed paper. It replaces a very old Fellows shredder that finally died but which had a wire mesh bin.
Little space for confidence boost to keep if confidentiality is what you want. Diamond shreds and although not quiet it isn’t obtrusive. Ideal for home office.
The papers shred into very small pieces but you have to be careful as to the number of sheets shredded at one time. The cross shredding element though, I prefer, as evident in this machine.
Bought this model as a replacement for a rubbish one I had, it had the very flimsy plastic tooth that detects the paper in auto mode it broke off.
This one has an recessed electronic eye so no contact it works great every time good product.
This one fits the bill perfectly. It cuts into very small pieces, with less dust than my previous model.
Forward and reverse, in case it get stuck and an overheat cut-out.
I have a large backlog of documents to shred and this is dealing with them very well.
It’s a decent shredder for light home use but I’m pretty annoyed the top doesn’t lock in. Essentially, the handle is pretty pointless as I wanted to be able to carry it in and out of the cupboard. Other than that- so far so good.
I bought 1 before this and it really struggled with 1 letter never lasted long so got a refund and got this 1 work’s much better and can cope
But remember its a home shredder so its limited
Used to shred a lot of paper. Got through the job easily, not like previous machines which overheated quickly and stopped working to cool. Never take any notice of this “4 sheets at a time ” nonsense…Best to do it singly, no jams or stops then!
The product failed after very light use. We contacted the manufacturers and they offered very prompt help in trouble-shooting. However, the problem seemed to be un-fixable and they then sent us a new one, which arrived on the next day. Can’t really ask for more than that.
Bought this as a replacement for my old, worn out shredder. It shreds length and width wise so is perfect for the destruction of sensitive paperwork. Also good to add to your compost heap.
This is perfect for home use. It shreds so well the best I’ve ever had. I make a point of oiling the shredding teeth stopping it from jamming. Would recommend
Cross cut shredder is easy to use and cuts paper with ease as long as you oil blades regularly to keep it working good I would buy again if this one breaks down hopefully after a good few years of use. Recommend this item.

Very good for the money and it is very safe
I think this product is good but would have liked the shredding process to be longer before you need to rest it. The actual shredding is very good. The handle is a bit misleading as it you lift it up the lid will come off the main part.
Bought this because I wanted a shredder that’d actually cut into small shreds- my previous one was a strip shredder which was useless and I stopped using years ago because it was so easy to still read despite being cut up, and unless you tried to mix everything up, the strips would stay in place and you could still read the whole document.
This on the other hand is brilliant. Actual small cross cuts that mean you can’t read your original document. For added security, it’s easy to just run your hand through the bits a couple of times to mix the pieces up as well. No sharp edges, no worry of giving yourself a paper cut. It’s like little bits of confetti- I feel like a small child using this and have had a ton of fun and joy shredding up all my sensitive documents.
There’s a small window that allows you to see how full the shredder is and when you should empty it. When it’s time to empty, it’s very easy to take the lid off to empty the contents.
I don’t tend to shred several pages at the same time, but my experience with it tells me that it’d have quite a bit of difficulty, if not impossible to shred 6 sheets at once unless you’re shredding incredibly thin paper. Wouldn’t recommend if you have so much to shred that you HAVE to shred many sheets at once. For regular home use though, I think this is fantastic.

Works v well. Cuts finely. Powered through a lot of papers I had with no issue. Keep in mind how many mins use/ cool down. Good for a home office but not for commercial use.

The New shredder functions very well, my only adverse comment is that the waste bin is a bit small
It says it shreds 6 sheets. No it doesn’t it struggles with 4. However it does manage 3, if you don’t have reams of paper this is fine, I had a one off of 6 years paperwork and it took most of the day as I took a few breaks to eliminate overheating.
Had a lot of private papers that needed shredding thhis shredder did the job perfectly cutting them fiinely ha ha defy anyone to piece them together again so jobs a good un. Shredder never missed a beat and coped really well.
An excellent product – it is noisy but that is only to be expected. Had a mountain of stuff I wanted to shred and it took care of it all. Have had many shredders over the years and this one is a compact excellent version I recommend

Really pleased with my shredder, easy to use and shreds into really small pieces. Would definitely recommend.
The product worked well with up to 4 pages but jammed within a few days of first use. I was not able to resolve the issue using the troubleshooting guidance provided in the product booklet and contacted the customer care line via e-mail. I received an almost instant reply from Mia with photos and advice on how to resolve the problem. I managed to clear the jam using the advice provided but found the machine jammed again soon after. The company did not hesitate when I stated that I was not confident in the machine and believed it to be faulty, they offered a replacement which was delivered 2 days later.
From start to finish it was a pleasure to deal with Mia, she was both polite and efficient. My new machine works perfectly and I would not hesitate to recommend this product for home use.
I’ve been shredding mainly ordinary paper and envelopes; and have not yet tried the credit card shredder. As a general rule, it is best to keep well within the maximum number of sheets to shred (whatever machine you are using). In my case, I never put in more than three sheets at a time (the maximum is six with Bonsai). I also recommend keeping your shredding to one minute slots; and having a couple of minutes rest in-between. This is much easier for smaller machines (there is a red light to alert you to over-heating).
We’ve been operating this machine since October, and so far it has performed very well. For small (even daily) household shredding, it is obviously very good. Anything heavier than this might be a different story. My only slight issue is with the operating noise. It’s actually quite loud (though not as grating as our previous make).
Overall, I am quite impressed by the Bonsai. For the budget price, you get a very decent shredder. The company also package their products with care, and we did not have to wait long to receive it.
UPDATE June 2021: It’s still going strong! And the credit card shredder is very quick and thorough.
My previous 2 shredders have been Fellows, liked the look of this and a good price it is great, easy to use cuts into smaller pieces than my previous shredders and fairly quiet. I like it, so far so good!
It is quiter than my old rexel cross cutter (2015/2014) that died with a paper jam…
The speed of shredding is the same if not a little bit quicker.
Being a micro-cutter version the pieces are a lot smaller than the old cross cutter.
Price was a lot cheaper than my old shredder.
Has an auto, forward, reverse and off slider button.
The only down side is that the bin is under the shredder head which means that to empty the bin the head needs to be removed…. rather than the bin sliding out… However it is a lot cheaper than my previous shredder and it cuts the paper into smaller bits… so only a very minor downside.
Only done a cursory check of functionality time will tell.
** Update 11/11/2020 **
I’ve been using the shredder for at least 3 to 4 hours over a couple of days (5 large black sacks).
The micro-shredding does not always work. You sometime get lots of long but thin bits. This usually occurs when you can hear the unit starting to struggle.
When you hear the unit start to struggle:
– Empty the box.
– Set the shredder to FWD for 10/15 seconds then REV for 10/15 seconds then FWD until it sounds clear.
– Oil the cutters. I’m using ‘3-in-one professional lubricant with PTFE’
– Run FWD for a few seconds.
Advice:
– Don’t let the cut paper get anywhere near the cutting blades as it will feeds back in and clogs.
– Oil the cutters after use and run for a couple of seconds.
I am not able to shred 6 thin sheets of paper. The most I cut is around three (listen to shredder).
I am basing the amount I shred on the noise the shredder makes and the thickness of the paper.
This means that I’ve not hit the overheat cool down even though I’ve shredded for more than 30mins.
I’ve changed my mind its not a quite shredder. Its just as loud as any previous ones I’ve had.
Credit cards shred well.
If you have a lot to shred then I would suggest considering a bigger brother that takes more sheets and has a bigger collection box.. If you are just shredding small amounts then this is probably fine.
Excellent value for money. Now we are working from home I needed a small shredder. This works just fine and does the job! Recommended!
