Read all the reviews before I bought , well this is truly a superb vacuum, fantastic suction , low noise , stores tools. Pull around without toppling over. Register on line with Bosch and get a extra 1 warranty, 3 in total. Sturdy construction .
I’ve been using mine as a dust extractor, attaching it to some Bosch power tools. It works really well for this. Using a sander, the fine dust seems to stay in the collection bag and not work its way out to create a mess (yeah, I’ve had that with other tools). The only negative I’ve found for this role is the next model up (the one with 20, rather than the 15, in its name) will start and stop automatically as you start and stop the power tool you are extracting from. That seems like a great convenience feature I wish I had paid a little more for.
This is a beast. Works brilliantly. It’s my Daughter’s go-to vac for hard floors over Dysons, Sharks etc. My only quibble.I had a Bosch years ago that had a MASSIVE pipe diameter that would hoover up the world. This one just has a standard diameter pipebut still a good vac. Buy again? Yes.
Amazing vacuumed but please note if you are buying it to deal with a flood it does not have a seperate water container so you have to carry the whole machine to pour out the water.
I hadn’t thought about an outdoor vacuum cleaner before I needed to clean out the patio drains, having bought this one I can’t think why I didn’t do it years ago! A little more basic than some out there, but for vacuuming the garage, cars and the wet stuff in the drains it certainly punches a hole in one. Don’t wait, but it.
Got a lot of power! sucks and blows, feels decent quality, the extension pipes feel bit short and slightly weak im just over 6 foot but otherwise very good
I bought this cleaner for use during DIY tasks and for water spills. It is well made and works for mucky DIY jobs and is excellent for spills. The only criticism is that there isn’t soumthing to wind the power cord around.
Bosch doesn’t disappoint, a good bit of kit, it picked up rubbles from a concrete fireplace I smashed up. If there was one downside it would be the plastic handle/pipe, a little poor quality, but they haven’t broke yet, but I plan to buy the stainless steel handles like come with the Henry then I’m sure I will have it for many years to come to use.
Great shop vac. Powerful suction with a decent amount of attachments.
Has also made an excellent option for cleaning the car and more practical for doing so than the dyson.
I bought this Bosch cleaner to clean the car. I chose Bosch becaue almost all my electrical tools etc are Bosch and this purchase didn’t dissappoint. Really pleased with it.
Good value for money. The accessories on there are cheap, plastic does feel like they are going to break but overall it’s a very good hoover.
Hoover works well however have to use extension as cable is so sho
My old Bosch wet and dry finally gave up the ghost!!! So needed to get another, having just bought a wall sanding machine needed a hoover to attach to, both works well together, quiet, highly recommended
Suction is excellent and the “foot” is shaped so it gets up the stairs easily and into edges
Used for diy cleanup worked well with plenty of suction. Also fits to Bosch sander.
Decent vacuum , big disappointment paper bags, but henry bags do even better job
Needed a, “Garage Vac” and was about to buy a Henry (which are brill btw!) Saw this Bosch and read the reviews. The wet function was the decider. I can confirm that I’ve (personally) found Henry hoover bags do fit (albeit slight effort required) Hoovered my work van before return and suction was incredible! Then used in my garage to suck up dry leaves and all cobwebs. Did a fantastic job and upon checking the inside of the vac, was amazed to find the bag had worked and very minimal (less than 0.01%) in the vac base. I’ve worked in tool hire for nearly 20 years and have seen the best and worst products fail. Always down to user error. If you buy this product, then look after it like an investment, keep the filters clean and bags changed (about a quid each) and am sure this Bosch will give you longevity.
A quality battery operated wet and dry vac, utilising the 18v diy batteries from Bosch . Well built and having the advantage of not needing a mains supply, it is ideal for jobs such as car cleaning and dust extraction. Only gave 4 stars because the cots of replacement dust bags seems a tad high.
Had a bosh cylinder cleaner before which gave up after many years, so I got this one as a replacement, good suction and tools selection, use for garage and car use, not a loud as I was expecting so that was a plus, if I was going to use for carpets I would get a head unit designed for that purpose as the one comes with is for hard floors and hard to push
Powerful enough to stuck the mortar from between your bricks if you wished. This has cleared an entire rotten stables of 30byears of filth, done rough concrete floors from sawdust and mud, the nooks and crannies of a new/old house and you feel it could do anything wet or dry. It also gives the car a thorough clean as it’s much kore powerful than the normal house Dyson. This is very easy to use without bags too. You just open and empty it and carry on within seconds. It is quite loud though so I wear hearing protection when operating, just to be safe. Couldn’t live without it now.
Useful in many ways for my mitre saw, sander, table saw in a dust extractor capacity. Also a great wet and dry vacuum cleaner for the workshop and home…
Really strong product, it does the job, i was really impressed by it, you can also use it to blow ( leaves).
As Usual a quality German product that does all it says on the tin.
Robust and easy to use
I bought it in the sale hence 5 star for value
Very powerful.
Cons:
Quite noisy
Connection of tools is just push on, no click/clip to prevent coming apart.
Bought the vac for my car good vacuum cleaner works
Well but not tried it yet for wet work
A very powerful vacuum cleaner, which has a very good and strong suction, can work for a long time without overheating. I recommend for any house.
his is amazing great suction lifted the cat hairs of the cats bed no problem i can really only give 4 and half stars as the brush head lets the cleaner down it.
Had a Henry for years and just replaced it with the Bosch very pleased but .. power lead to short and bags are quite expensive but over all very pleased and very good value .
Bosch generally produce high quality reliable kit and this wet and dry vacuum is no exception. Despite being constructed from plastic, it is sturdy but lightweight and well built. The clips to secure the top are particularly robust.
In dry use the suction is great, and produces good results in the car. The wet mode is ideal for the garage and leaves etc, this just requires a simple filter change.
The hose is of great quality and can be disconnected from the front port, placed on the rear and used as a blower (surprisingly powerful!)
Extension tubes are included, as well as a floor tool – a rotating brush bar would have been a nice inclusion but this is more suited to rugged/outdoor jobs than carpets. Although it has no capability to disperse cleaning solution like some other carpet cleaners, the wet extraction facility is very powerful and does a good job removing stations from carpets after being agitated with a brush.
Because it’s lightweight it’s easy to manoeuvre with 2 rotating and 2 fixed castors, the capacity is also huge which means bag changes should be few and far between.
Great set. Works with my Bosch tools, as well as my evolution mitre saw, Mcallister jigsaw and circular saw. Adapters that come with it suited my tools great. Would def buy again.
This is probably the best hoover I’ve used, I work in construction and seen 1 used on site.
Over time I’ve been thinking about hoover for home garage and brought this, didn’t realise how bloody good it was.
An honest 10 out 10
does what it should do great suction use it for the table saw
We are surrounded by trees and Autumn was a nightmare with the dropped wet and dry leaves. On top of this I had an accident so couldn’t use one arm and hand. This picks everything up with no problem at all and I can use it with just one hand. Emptying would be easy (I just have to have something at the side of my bin to rest it on while I scrape it out) You will get the occasional block if you pick up something too big but even I’ve had no problem clearing it and you do get to recognise what not to aim for ! It does hold quite a bit as it compacts what you collect. I’ve had no problems with loss of suction. It does stop picking up once its full so easy to recognise when it needs emptying. Really good and easy to use for a one armed woman 😉 For an able, two armed person I’d maybe go for a bigger size then you don’t have to empty it so often. NB – I haven’t used this indoors as it was specifically bought to tackle the leaves problem. Easy to clean, just give it a good rinse out when you’ve finished. I would definitely recommend.
Brilliant – suction is superb – using to renovate kitchen and a blessing – attached power tools and no problem reducing the dust and shavings. Only grip is the power cable should be retractable – tangled with hose many times – but i would recommend it for diy jobs – love it. – only get one bag but fairly big volume – picks up any thing that fits the spout, chipping, saw dust, masonry fragments etc
Fantastic suction, the main head is great for the concrete floor and as a wet vac but is no good for in the house. Very durable but is heavy. Large capacity. Cable is very short and wraps around the hoover for storage, you need to be careful it doesn’t slip beneath the clips as this pops the top off when you try to lift it. There is space for the hose to wrap around and be clipped in too which is very useful. Good tool selection.
Great product for a home work-shop. Works for all purposes that are on a small scale.
Adapter for fitting to tools is excellent.
Nozzle components are limited to a long nozzle and thin wide brush – so no small brush for use in those ‘ in between’ areas.

Great for clearing up mess after DIY Fairly easy to put hoses etc together best leave tool off for larger waste.
Fiddly to empty clean after use if you don’t use bags. Not tried wet function for liquids, not damp solids.
Does the job It was bought for, cleaning up peanut skins and seed shells from feeder area for birds, squirrels
I bought this vacuum cleaner for use in the garage and it is excellent at picking up dust and debris. It is also very sturdily built.
Product arrived early, easy to use, good size, used couple times since got it, to test, and works fine, I used without the bag, and I think it is OK , but it needs to be clean right away when done , as the filter bag, doesn’t really protect as much, but I am very happy with this product, as connection attaches to most my power tools! hopefully this will last long term
I am very happy i choose this brand. The vacuum cleaner is doing the job with most seriousity which Bosch has shown for years. I am absolutely satisfied about this product!
Bought it to clear gutters. Had to fashion an extension but did the job
I just finished hovering. And afters first minutes hoovering carpet I’ve decided to replace vacuum tube and floor nozzle with my good old steel tube from my old hoover… wont work on carpets just on smooth surfaces. Any way from what I saw this type (dry/wet hoovers floor nozzle looks quite the same…)…Overall its a good quality produc
This is the utmost brilliant vacuum cleaner I’ve ever seen or used! And I’ve even worked with industrial ones! This beats every single one of them all! Great power, not so noisy as to what I’m used to with others, simply to use and maneuver, and why people keep saying is not easy to put the bag? It is so simple! Plus, if you want to buy a new box of bags, Amazon normally has them in the related products section. All easy. And really, be careful with small things around the vacuum cleaner when using it… Cause this machine doesn’t just vacuums, it’s more like a black hole that sucks everything up while you blink!!! Loved it and truly recommend it!
Variant: Bosch UniversalVac 15 Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner.
This is a monster vacuum cleaner, a delight in use in spite of its slightly old fashioned feature set. Most high powered wet & dry vacuum cleaners I have used have a motor speed control, but this one doesn’t so it is at full power or switched off. That surprised me but it isn’t a big disadvantage. The first time I used it sucked up the steel bolt mentioned in my review title, which meant I had to switch it off and check that the bolt had not punctured the bag — it hadn’t. Hmm, have to watch for things like that in future… I had a few problems in one room with the vacuum lifting the carpet, but I am delighted with how well it deals with sawdust and other debris. It’s a really powerful machine.
I found the machine overall is excellent, but I was surprised that there is no variable speed and no proper cable management. My old Hoover from 1986 had a place to store the cable, with this machine you just pile it on top. The tool storage is fairly good however, and works well to help you put everything away in one place. No chance of losing bits unless you’re really careless.
Once I had vacuumed the floor I had to get some scrap wood and try out the feature that allows you to connect the machine to some Bosch power tools. I connected the vacuum cleaner to my jigsaw and made a few cuts, then to the sander and rounded off a few corners. I found that it did a better job connected to the sander than it did when connected to the jigsaw, getting most of the dust while with the jigsaw it missed a lot of it. I have not yet tried it with my router but I expect that will be somewhere in between. My circular saw is not a Bosch but I am assured that there is an adapter that allows this vacuum cleaner to connect to it, so I will be on the lookout for that.
So the tool connection feature does not get all the dust, particularly with the jigsaw, but it does get enough to dramatically reduce the time required cleaning up afterwards. Since I do a fair amount of woodwork this is one of the reasons I chose this machine.
The bags for the Numatic Charles vacuum cleaner fit this machine so that solves the problem of the overpriced and scarce Bosch bags. The Numatic bags are cheaper and of better quality and I can confirm that they fit.
I have used this once to clean up not only inside but outside my front door, where there is a porch with a concrete floor and a concrete yard. The machine sucked up leaves, paper and other debris with no problems and did a better job than a broom would have done. I liked it even more after that.
Things I like about this vacuum cleaner:
* Suction Power.
* Tool storage.
* Wet & Dry feature (I hope I never need to use it for wet cleanup but it’s nice to have that option)
* Connects to some Bosch (and — with adapters — other brand) power tools to clean up as you work.
* Ease of use.
Things I don’t like:
* Overpriced & hard to find bags (easily solved by buying bags made for the Numatic Charles vacuum cleaner)
* No variable motor speed (come on Bosch, it’s 2019!)
* No proper cable management (come on Bosch, it’s 2019!)
Overall I would recommend this both for normal domestic cleanup and for the tool connection feature.
Awesome tool, works great with Boschs orbital sander, even better still with Abranet mesh discs. Suction is fantastic and dust collection very good.
This is a good all-round vacuum. It’s great on all floors – the suction is fantastic and its large capacity means it doesn’t need to be emptied often. Although it seems to have been made for outside the house / in a workshop environment, it functions perfectly as an in-home vacuum. It’s fab though that it can be used both inside and outside – it’s handy for using around the garden! It’s much quieter than you’d expect too!
This replaced an ancient Hoover AquaVac. With all the tools and the ability to handle any kind of debris it’s powerful and versatile around the property. We don’t use it for power tool extraction. The only even vague negative is it’s got a larger storage footprint and can only really live on the floor. But overall it’s a big thumbs-up.
This Bosch UniversalVac 15 is handy to have around as it will cope with both routine cleaning tasks and spillages plus, it can be used as a blower too. The build seems robust with lockable wheels and a water resistant on/off switch plus there are a range of included tools. You have to go to the next model in the range for a switched onboard power socket though.
The vacuum is powerful and you can use the unit with or without a disposable bag, from what I can gather using a bag helps protect the filter. There is a pre-filter and permanent main filter both of which can be cleaned by the user. The tools store on the unit although the flex storage isn’t great, plus the flex seems like an indoor rather than outdoor grade as well as being shortish for a vacuum.
In use the unit isn’t too noisy and the 15L canister is sufficiently capacious for most domestic users. The definition of wet vacuuming in this instance in that unit will pick up “water/air mixtures” it is not a pump. For example, it’s ideal for clearing up a washing machine overflow but my interpretation is it’s not for syphoning quantities of water from a water butt by sticking the vacuum hose into it.
The dust/liquid canister is easy enough to empty and, if you want to use one, the paper dustbag is simple to fit (you get 1 in the box) but there is a vagueness about the precise nature of replacements and where they can be obtained. The tools are quick to fit and exchange plus the vacuum hose feels well made and tough. If you use the unit for wet vacuuming it needs to be well cleaned and left open overnight to make sure everything is dry otherwise you could get a mouldy smell.
Overall I’m pleased with this unit including the build quality and vacuum power.
It arrived as scheduled and appears to work as it should. The dry vacuum really has a powerful suction, which is what I really needed. I’ve not tried the Wet vacuum or Blower yet, but I see no reason why the performance should be any different. Hopefully it will be one that lasts a few years.
Fantastic vacuum. Picks up hay, bunny poop, sawdust and hair from my carpet with ease. Only one bag supplied, but I use it without and just empty it straight into the bin. Very hardy. Great buy.
Great product, unfortunately this version(Vac15) is not coming with an onboard electric outlet as the (vac20) does.
So this is the first wet and dry vacuum cleaner I’ve ever owned, courtesy of Amazon Vine and Bosch:)
This is a pretty powerful vacuum cleaner boasting 1000 watts of power,it has good suction and can be used as a dry vacuum cleaner and to hoover up any spillages.Comes supplied with multiples accessories and you can use this wet and dry vacuum cleaner to attach to Bosch power tools to help with dust extraction.Great Wet and Dry vacuum cleaner.
Even though double the price of alternatives, I decided on this due to Bosch reputation (mostly). I was not disappointed.
The power of the suction is exceptional and the fittings to most power tools are very good.
There needs to be an option for a hose extension, but the basic kit is excellent.
Bosch have been developing quality products for a long time now, and this is no exception. An excellent multi-function wet-dry vacuum cleaner, that works just as well in a simple home environment, or in your workshop, or as a local tradesman.
It has excellent power whether using either functions, and does an excellent job of cleaning with a range of various attachments to help with the process. The storage capacity is great, and it’s very easy to handle as well.
Only minor gripe is the initial set-up is a little bit complicated to understand where everything goes and works, but for such a multi-functional bit of kit it deserves the time to learn what it does!!
Considering how much it does as well, great value for money.
This Universal vacuum cleaner really hit the mark. I found it very easy to use and it hovered up pretty much all of the dirt on my floor. It is not at all heavy or cumbersome to pull around while you are hovering. Top marks to Bosch for producing a top product.
Great simple to use and effective vacuum cleaner. This can also be attached to certain Bosch tools.
The latest in my “collection” of vacuum cleaners, this one has gone straight to the workshop where it has become an essential piece of kit. First off though, it is a very well made piece of equipment with a decent array of tools. The bin/bag capacity is surprisingly large and it is quite powerful. And there are stowages for attachments and cables on the sides and top so it stores nicely and the chance to lose bits and pieces is minimised. Well thought out . Assembly was a doddle – its almost ready to run when it comes out of the box. From a workshop perspective its great, attaching in to the saws and sanders that I have so its made using them much cleaner. Also the “blow” function is great for blasting sawdust and other stuff out of nooks and crannies to be sucked up late
Although a part of the Product Description suggests that this new Vacuum Cleaner from Bosch is cordless it is actually a conventional corded mains-powered model. We had one of the original Vax “orange tub” wet and dry vacuum cleaners in the eighties and this Bosch UniversalVac is very much a more refined and updated version of the same principle. Although it can be easily used all around the house for many different cleaning jobs it is really more at home in the garage or workshop and for cleaning up the mess from DIY work. This model is more of a man’s design and can work in conjunction with some other Bosch power tools by using the supplied universal adapter to connect them together. There are a good range of other accessories supplied too including two extension tubes, a crevice nozzle, a floor nozzle, a flexible hose, paper dust bag, a cartridge filter and a removable handle. The cleaner can be used wet or dry and when used dry it can be used with or without a dust bag — the bags are useful if you are dealing with something unpleasant you would rather not touch! It can also be used as a blower for cleaning hard to reach areas and leaf blowing in the garden. This cleaner is easy to store with the handles folded and it’s tools onboard, plus the wheels help to make it nicely mobile in use. This new Bosch Vac is available as this UniversalVac 15 litre version, for less than one hundred pounds currently from Amazon, or in a larger 20 litre AdvancedVac model for around twenty-five pounds more. Both models seem to be good value for the build quality and features offered and I have been rather impressed by the performance of the 15 litre model — a great product for the handyman and keen DIY fan.
Really well packed, loads of great features and the Bosch quality name too. Works really well attached to other Bosch products, which is the main reason we went for it. Really useful when having two kids who’s ‘spill rate’ is quite high! Recommended.
