Powerful cordless vacuum
Heard people not rating cordless vacuums as supposedly they have to be limited (rightly or wrongly?). Certainly my Dyson v11 never cleans the car in one go. As I already own 2 18v Bosch batteries this seemed worth the gamble, and I was right.

Very good, but no bench clamp.
I bought this on the strength of the description which said it could be used in different positions. It can’t, as there is no bench clamp (I should have read the reviews more carefully), hence the 4-star rating-Amazon please copy. It does the job, but I’ll need to devise a way to secure it to my bench. As I shall be using it for light sanding and shaping, some velcro pads should be enough, as it’s satisfyingly heavy.
Did the job I had . Sanding dirt and old varnish off floorboards that were sanded and stained over 15 years ago.
Great at collecting dust but needs emptying every 5min and eventually the dust collection seems to fail but then you need to clear the dust collection area.
Hint. There are 24grit belts available online tho 40 and above is more commo
How did we manage without it.
Use this mainly on stairs and for cleaning out car. 18v power for all system gives plenty of use from a full battery.
Compared to using mains vacuum it’s a doddle. Lightweight and powerful.
Bish Bosch
It’s ideal for a quick fix to get the crumbs up. Overall, it’s not going to do a great job of vacuuming your car. I’m happy with it to a degree but I think it’s over priced. The filter gets clogged quickly and this affects suction. There are probably better hand held portable vacuums out there that do just as good a job for a lot less money
Solid piece of kit!
I sanded an entire oak floor with this in one afternoon and it did an awesome job! Its powerful and works flawlessly ! Highly recommended.
Good car vac
Saw some reviews saying didnt have much suck. Plenty to clean the usual dirt out of my cars footwell. Really good buy if you have a bosch cordless drill allready with compatable batteries.
Powerful vacuum
Used primarily as a car vac. Needs to be used with 2.5Ah batteries (else run time is too short). Works well. Would have got a 5* rating if it was supplied witha flexible hose too.
Good quality belt sander but critical safety feature is missing.
Purchased as I needed to do some heavy sanding work.
The built quality is great and belt’s last well but my biggest concern was the lack of a safety catch to avoid accidental operation whilst making adjustments to the belt.
I lost the top of my index fingerprint using this sander. It could have been significantly worse if I had not let go of the sander as it dragged my finger in to belt assembly.
The accident happened as the belt has slide on the runners and was being chewed up. Turning the belt sander over on the side is tension release which is used to solve this problem. I held the sander with one hand whilst I rested the sander on the floor as I adjusted the belt. The sander slide on the floor and my hand holding the sander push the power button trigger dragging my index finger in to the belt mechanism.
I appreciate the accident was my fault and I should have isolated power before attempting to adjust the belt but when you are busy trying to finish what you are doing we can all cut corners and the addition of a safety switch mechanism would have saved my finger.
If you do buy this sander please unplug during servicing/belt adjusting.
Bosch if you are reading this please take note. For such a powerful tool the inclusion of an in-expensive isolation switch would avoid accidents.
Our Dyson hand held non-replaceable battery no longer holds its charge. This cost a fraction, uses batteries from my Bosch drill and hedgecutter. Full charge runs for much longer than the Dyson and it sucks up stuff even better!

Best little whip around for hard wood floors

Light weight and easy to use for hardwood floors.
It does not replace my upright vaccum as its performace is not effective enough for carpeted areas, but a wonderful little compliment to it for non-carpeted areas.

I bought this as I already had 2 Bosch re-chargeable batteries from my cordless drill set and it worked a treat. Also handy around the house with the connecting hose pipes. If you don’t have battery you will need to buy one along with a charger. This is going to cost around 80 for both.
Great sander, useless dust collector.
This belt sander works well. and has been great for removing lots of old varnish from a wooden kitchen work surface. The dust collector is however useless. The dust collector cover doesn’t clip on securely and sometimes pops off during use and sprays dust around the room. Also, it sticks out a long way from the side of the sander meaning you can’t sand close to the edge of things in certain directions. Also, I was told it was possible to buy a bench clamp to use this as a fixed sander, but that no longer seems to be available. So that’s also a bit disappointing.
Brilliant as everything made by Bosch. Swapping batteries is a breeze, suction power is great for a portable tool. Just make sure to brush the filter regularly, it gets blocked quite quickly.

Brilliant at doing what it's meant fo
As a lightweight vacuum cleaner for occasional cleaning it’s really very good. Enough suction for the job, if not as much as a larger unit.
You wouldn’t use this to clean the whole house, but it’s so quick and easy to use that it is ideal for light cleaning of small areas.
Dust capacity is sufficient for a few minutes cleaning.
It’s also ideal for cleaning inside the car, plenty of battery power and no wires getting in the way.
With each new project, I’ll often treat myself to a new tool if it’ll make the job easier. Having only really used orbital sanders before, this sander was a blessing. It’s not a finishing sander but great at removing material, more so than an orbital sander will. It is reasonably priced and well made so no complaints so far. It has already had it’s fair share of use (sanding oak) but time will tell if it stands up. Happy to recommend it although the dust bag could be slightly better made as it’s not easy to open. Not enough of a problem to really worry about.
Experience tells me I can rely on Bosch. After watching this product on Amazon over a 2-3 weeks, I got a brilliant deal and an excellent product. It works well and has the power to get the work done swiftly.
The sander is very easy to set up and use. Its dust collection unit is fantastic – all the fine dust is best cleaned out using a paint brush over the bin outside.
I’ve started with a 80 grit belt which needs finishing, so followed up with a 120 belt to polish up the result. That said, there are reasonable new belts available on the market to get the best result.
ot sure about some of the reviews which seem to be for a cordless vacuum cleaner… however the sander, although heavy is pretty decent as the others have said. The dust collector is surprisingly effective and the sander itself is very good. only comes with one sanding belt, but you can get a combi bundle of belts for not much money. The weight is probably an advantage if you’re sanding something flat, otherwise it’s a bit of a handful when doing vertical stuff.
An excellent tool
I purchased a number of the BOSCH 18V tools plus a Charger and 4 batteries. I have used all of them and am very pleased with them. The reason for buying 4 batteries was if the work required at least 2 tools or if someone else was helping you.
Sturdy and sands well
Very good product, I used it to sand a whole floor.
Takes a little time to fetch used to using itxas it tries to run away with you, but after a short while you get the hang of it and it is a fery effective sander.
A lot of needles are shed from our tree and this vacuum cleaner is excellent at removing them as well as crumbs left by the grandchildren.. We already had a battery and charger for our hedge trimmer so is very economical. I haven’t had to re-charge the battery yet so don’t know how long it lasts.
Powerful tool
Never thought I would need a sander like this but makes certain types of sanding easy. You need both hands on the machine and fun to use. Fantastic value for money.
Why didn't I buy one before?
Simply excellent. Made light work of taking an old oak table back to clean wood through a range of grits from 80 to 400.
With the flat top you can also set it to run and use it as a table top sander.
Better than the res
Bought a more expensive one first and sent it back no power! Got this and it p**ssed all over it tried a few of my colleagues very expensive one and I much prefer mine
Super fast sande
Tried a cheaper product previously which burned out mid work on a piece. The Bosch arrived next day delivery and zipped through the same piece. Have used it frequently since and find it to be excellent.
Super Powerful and a Bargai
What a great piece of kit!! Got it on a spectacular deal and boy is it powerful! Had previously been using a mouse sander and this thing is next level.
Have been using for sanding pallet wood and it is so quick and easy to use with a really good exhaust that captures a lot of the dust.
Only downside is the power means the wood must be well held down and is not suitable for intricate sanding jobs but is perfect for the job I needed it for.

Used it to smooth over a solid wooden table and to remove the varnish off another table. Worked very well and I was very very impressed with it until someone broke into my house and stole it, would definitely recommend if you are in the market for a belt sander.
Excellent DIY tool addition to range
If you already have a number of tools within the range this makes for a great addition. Suction power is surprisingly strong for a cordless, however the filter does clog quickly if hoovering large amounts of sawdust etc. Easy enough to open and empty (and clear filter).
It’s a shame there’s no Flexi hose attachment included. Would have been a 5 star product if it was!
Excellent non-professional sized sande
Even though this was 75mm rather than the 100mm I am used to it is a quality product which sailed through my sanding.

Great little vacuum cleane
I only bought thus as I already iwn many bosch battery products. This works really well but can eat batteries. I have two 1.5 a/hrs batteries set aside for it .

I used the sander for taking old paint off the bottom of a wooden boat, and then smoothing out plugs I inserted in holes. The sander is heavy but very effective.
Sehr gut, ersetzt natürlich keinen Staubsauge
Da ich 3 Akkus von Bosch bereits besa, hab ich mich fr dieses Modell entschieden. Fr mein Einsatzgebiet ( mal eben die Couch oder Treppenstufeb absaugen/ um den Ofen hinsaugen usw. ) absolut ausreichend. Zum Auto saugen oder dergleichen wrde ich ihn klar nicht empfehlen, ersetzt halt keinen kraftvollen handelsblichen Staubsauger. Fr Kleinigkeiten super zufriedenstellend.
Cheap bit of ki
I have recently fallen out of love with Bosch due to poor battery life and a fault in another product … but this bit of kit is very useful, especially if you clamp it side ways and use it to clean up joints at 90 degrees.
Powerful
Its big and long and very sturdy, that is except for the dust capture box, which ive found seems to shake free and as this has happened on a number of occasions, but may be my hand as the box comes backwards towards the handle and therefore i may be catching it (I’m a lefty after all). It is however a powerful piece of equipment and the dust capture is actually very effective. I have found it to be a little heavy. The brick shape allows you to turn it over and use as a bench sander too. Nice piece of kit.
Great sander, and if you get it on discount its brilliant value for money
Very powerful potential with this one, thank god its not battery powered as if it were and you dropped it, it would race off down the road probably setting speed cameras off.
I first used it to sand down some glued up strips of wood and it worked a treat, it took some getting used to as i left it in one spot for too long so then had to sand out a groove that id put in it. Once you get the hang of it then its a good piece of kit. The only issue ive had is trying to find belts as the grits i want are either expensive for the proper version or come with very negative reviews for the off-brand ones.
Brilliant sander for home diy
It’s a really nice powerful sander for DIY use. Just make sure that if you want to use it on something small and light that you secure the wood, and that when you change the belt it is properly adjusted. Also the bosch belts are surprisingly good value.
Only lasted 3 years
Only used once every two weeks , bottom plate went and now the wheel bearing have gone. Should last much longer so very poor. Bought in July 2019 and packed up today February 2022.

Does the Job
It certainly removed wood quickly. I bought the sander to use upsidedown as a bench sander not easy to do. You need extra fittings. I shall have to make a clamping base to use it as a bench sander. The belt auto centering is very useful but needs checking when in use.

Saugleistung gut auch mit alten Akkus
Der Sauger wurde fr Holzofen zum Saugen von Dreck nach auflegen von Holz gekauft und wird mit alten Akkus von 2011 betrieben. Super Saugleistung man muss halt das feine Sieb fters mal sauber machen. Gesubert wird bei mir mit einem Industriestaubsauger. Bei dem alten Handsauger ist immer Staub an dem Filter vorbei, dies habe ich hier noch nicht gesehen. Der Sauger wird auch gerne mal fr den Rest genutzt. Wrde ich wieder kaufen. Wer grne Akkugerte macht nichts falsch
Saugstarker Haundstaubsauger mit nachlassender Langzeitwirkung
Ich habe den Handstaubsauger als Zusatzgert zu unserem Dyson Bodenstaubsauger gekauft, fr die kleinen Saugereien im Alltag. Da ich bereits Gerte der Bosch grn Serie habe, konnte ich den Akku problemlos dafr nutzen. Auch dies hat fr diesen Staubsauger gesprochen.
Amazon typisch kam die Lieferung schnell und problemlos bei mir an. Alles hbsch und stabil im Originalkarton verpackt. Beim Auspacken kam dann allerhand Zubehr ans Licht wie Verlngerungen, Bodendse, Polsterdse usw.
Das Zubehr wirkt leider etwas billig, aber erfllt seinen Zweck. Zuviel darf man allerdings nicht von der Bodendse erwarten. Diese saugt bei Fliesen oder Laminat vielleicht die Krmel weg, aber bei Teppichboden versagt der Sauger klglich. Das ist rgerlich, gerade dazu sollte er sein (Meine Freundin war nicht begeistert, mchte jetzt einen hher preisigen Handstaubsauger). Jetzt benutze ihn hauptschlich, um in unserer Wohnung bei hohen Decken auf Spinnennetzjagd zu gehen, im Auto und der Werkstatt. Dafr ist er perfekt. Man bekommt aufgrund seiner Mae beinahe berall hin. Und benutzt man nicht den groen Akku, ist er auch nicht allzu schwer.
Augenscheinlich lt vermuten, dass man aufgrund des groen Auffangbehlters viel Schmutz aufsaugen kann. Aber hier liegt ein entscheidenes Manko dieses Staubsaugers. Der Filter setzt sich sehr schnell zu, so dass die Saugwirkung zusehends schwcher wird. Das ist nicht sehr schn, besonders, wenn man grere Flchen oder feinen Schmutz weg zu saugen hat. Glcklicherweise lsst sich der Auffangbehlter einfach ffnen und der Filter reingen. Dann steht die volle Leistung wieder an. Damit muss man leben wollen.
Ich denke hier htte Bosch eine bessere Lsung finden knnen.
Fr den Heimeinsatz wrde ich den Sauger nicht nochmal kaufen, fr den Einsatz in der Werkstatt und im Auto ist er jedoch gut geeignet.

Wir hatten bisher Handstaubsauger von diversen anderen Herstellern im Einsatz — bei denen jedoch immer mindestens ein Kriterium nicht 100% zufriedenstellen gewesen ist!
Der Bosch UniversalVac 18 berzeugt jedoch auf ganzer Linie — endlich haben wir ein Gert gefunden, das nahezu keinen Grund zur negativen Kritik gibt!
Mit uns leben 2 Hauskatzen in der Wohnung — ein Handstaubsauger ist folglich ein sehr wichtiges Werkzeug, das tglich gefordert wird.
Mit den beiden Verlngerungsrohren knnen der Fugen- und der Boden-Aufsatz sehr variabel und vor allem Rcken schonend eingesetzt werden — die Power reicht auch unter Verwendung beider Verlngerungen absolut aus – das ist top!

Eine verbesserungswrdige Eigenschaft ist schwer zu finden — evtl. ist die Tatsache, dass der montierte Akku teilweise als Standflche dient, gefhlt nicht die beste Lsung – wenn man den Sauger z.B. im Schrank verstaut oder auf dem Boden ablegt.
Dafr ist das Design aber sehr kompakt und ohne viel Gehusematerial konzipiert und den Akku schdigt diese Tatsache sehr wahrscheinlich ohnehin nicht – auch nach langjhriger Nutzung. Alternativ kann man den Akku auch jedes Mal separat verstauen.
Fazit:
Der Bosch UniversalVac 18 ist der beste Hand-Sauger, den wir bisher im Einsatz hatten! Alle wichtigen Wunschmerkmale, die wir an ein Gert seiner Art gestellt haben, erfllt dieser Sauger mit Bravour!
Versatile
I bought this item for my workshop and car. I am pleased with the performance in workshop (mainly dust) but in the car the vac wont pick up such things as cotton in the carpet. On the whole though this is a great product and there is no loss of suction throughout the battery discharge.
