Purchased after camping neighbour lent me a similar version. Amazed how much quicker my kettle boiled in slight wind.
Well made, 10 segments was a bit too big for my small stove so I used a end pin to easily push out 2 hinge pins so now have just 8 sections.
We took this camping for two nights recently at a festival. It’s very easy to unpack and use, and provides a good amount of protection against the wind around our portable gas stove.
Would recommend it. Thank you for reading this review I hope that was helpful.
Have used this 4 or 5 times now it’s brilliant for the price and dose the job well.
I decided to try this in my kitchen as I use an induction hob on my kitchen trolley and needed protection from all the oil splatters. It has certainly been very helpful in preventing the oil splatters.
It was very easy to set up and fits very well around the induction hob which is portable.
It has stayed upright and I can move it around as needed. Very practical and useful.
Thumbs up and recommended, if you are in a situation like mine indoors where you need to prevent oil splatters !
We’re a family of campers and enjoy wild camping, so often cook on a butane stove, which are prone to the vagaries of the wind to how well they work, so you need to find a good sheltered area.
This windshield now makes cooking in the butane stove very much easier and is very lightweight, not adding too much weight to the portable camp pack.
Obviously as they are lightweight, they are also prone to the wind, so I found it’s best to push them into the ground, and then they stay put well and do the job effectively. We’re very pleased with this useful gadget, so recommended from us and 5 .
Perfect for camping. Packs down nice and compact. Reasonably priced.
This is an efficient Windshield camping cooking and is portable and very practical.
The size is good for my small barbecue is perfect. Is very lightweight too.
It is easy to place and is more stable than I expected.
The quality looks fine to me and does the job very well, I recommend it.
Nice and easy to use and is very good quality. Does the job it’s built for so 5 stars from me and no complaints.
This BBQ/stove windscreen arrived in the black storage bag.
It is foldable and contains 10 pieces/parts.
Very easy and fast to erect/fold and provides a good protection for surfaces and shelter from the wind.
The measurements are exactly as per listing description.
It seems of a decent quality.
It is quite light, but stable.
I’ve put it in our campervan, it doesn’t take much space, but it is very useful and practical.
Does the job it was meant for well, but seems a bit pricey.
Folds neatly and stores in a little bag that I now keep close to my little single burner .
The aluminium windshield is small and neat but a very effective barrier against the wind especially whilst lighting.
Reflects the heat back also potentially reducing cooking times.
So useful you will be glad you have it.
This is handy and really lightweight. It does a good job at blocking and reducing wind impact. It folds out nicely and can be secured into the earth with two side pegs. It can be additional secured in place by methods such as clamps or rocks, depending on the surface.
I’ve knocked off one star purely for the bag it comes with. It’s began tearing from pulling it out and putting it back in. But the price is fair for the quality.
There are set of ten aluminium panels and it comes with a black pounch.
First, the black pouch is not much of high quality and easily tears and gets caught when trying to take out the aluminium panels and putting them back in. I think it would be good idea have a high quality pouch which wouldnt tear so easily because of the wind sheild.
Pocione camp stove windsheild is a good idea for those who love camping. The down side of the wind sheild is quite short in length and it would benefit campers if it was perphaps more longer. I was expecting the aluminium panel to be of high quality as stated on the product description however, in this instance there were scratches on the panels although it was not used at this stage. So i am slightly dissappointed.
I do like the idea of easily adapting the panels to the size you require which is easy to remove and adjust when required.
Really good sized wind deflector that takes up little room and works really well. Good value and quality made
Works great, neat, easy to fold and position. Comes with storage bag, overall really good, at time of review 8.99, very good value.
With the summer going, plans are shifting to camping
One of the niggling issues we get is the wind making it a pain to cook something hot.
This aluminium shield is light and does come with a bag to contain it. (Though that was a bit flimsier than expected)
This allows the metal panes to be unfolded as to how much you need to enclose your fire and keep your stove protected
This came in a rather compact bag. It was folded concertina style and covered a large area. This was used recently for a camp meal exercise and it helped keep the wind off the tea lights.
This is a very good way of minimizing wind when lighting and using a camp stove or a little fire.
The aluminium is very light.
The bag is not adequate for it as I can feel the edges of the aluminium wanting to poke through already though new. Had they rounded off the edges of the plates and put heads on the top and bottom of the poles connecting the plates the bag might have been subjected to less wear.
More importantly as other bags can be found or substituted, the problem with the poles cannot be. Since none of the connecting poles have head nor tail they may move out of the plates interupted tubes. So far the front ones at each side have come out each time I tried to use it. And threading them each time back in is not my idea of a good use of time whilst camping. Had they either used a contiguous tube rather than an interupted one, or, put a head on the ends so it could not come out this would not happen.
It is very cheap and light so I decided 4 stars as there are many things to like about it as it really improves the ease of firelighting and use of fires.
This is a bunch of thin metal plates which form a windshield for a small camp stove and can be pinned to the ground for stability.
Not suitable for gas canisters with cap stoves on top.
I used this as a wind guard for my small hiking gas stove.
Lightweight and effective
It has removable sections so I was able to trim it down to the exact size I needed.
Ten lightweight panels to protect against wind when cooking these are good value and come apart so you don’t have to use all ten at the same time they weigh 281 grams in the bag which is ok if walking or touring on your bike they are approx 3 inches wide by 9.5 inches tall each panel which is perfect size the pins are easy to remove see pictures showing full details of the quality
Foldable, easy to use. Made of aluminum alloy, it has 10 parts spliced together to make a windbreak but not a lot of space and can only be used for small cookers. If you want to shield a small camping gas stove from the wind, you can just bypass the single burner and make room for the kettle on top, it helps keep the wind out.
It has two small extra-long hinge pins that can be pushed into the ground for more stability. These are on each end of the shield, so I would have wanted one more in the middle because of the light weight.
This shield comes in a soft material pouch that keeps it all together.
The shield consists of 10 metal plates, each hinged with a long thin bar. The outer two panels have a similar bar that’s a little longer and with a handle on the top. These two are used to stake the shield into soft earth. If it’s on a hard surface you’ll just have to rely on it not tipping over.
The whole thing is quite light so could potentially blow around if it’s very windy. On a table you’ll be relying on it creating a circle around a lamp to steady itself.
The bottom of each panel has a notch in it to allow air to be drawn up and keep a small stove burning properly.
I dont normally use a windshield when out in the woods but recently when hill walking the wind was breezy enough to send my camp stove flame sideways, making cooking a nightmare. I have used this windshield and found it does a brilliant job of protecting my camp stove and is very lightweight.
One thing I will suggest is taking a couple of tent pegs or driving a sharp stick into the ground inside the wind shield to prevent it falling over in use.
overall a decent bit of kit but I think it really needs a couple of integrated ground stakes when the wind picks up.
I do a lot of outdoors cooking on my camps using an alcohol stove , these type of windshield are essential for using alcohol stove in windy conditions and will help conserve your fuel , wind makes the flames on your stove bigger and it consumes the fuel quicker.
So this large windshield is ideal for protecting your alcohol stove , gas stove from windy conditions.
It folds down flat into its little carry pouch , it slips into your backpack with ease and is super lightweight.
It’s made from stainless steel and has little stakes either end to push into the ground.
It provides a good barrier between your stove and the wind helping you cook a nice meal on breezy day on top of a hill or on the coast.
I’m really happy with this windshield, my old one was starting to look a bit old and battered after a few years use, I’m expecting to get a good few years from this one too.
If your new to camping and want to cook your own meals at camp then this is a good bit of kit that will come in very useful indeed.
When camp cooking the wind can be a huge problem as it tries to blow the camp stove out.
We’ve got one of those alcohol stoves and it can take ages to boil water if its a windy day.
So this wind break is a perfect addition.
I really like that you can arrange the panels in a long and rectangular orientation or a circle or whatever.
The height is 9 1/2 ” and the entire length is 33″ with 10 panels in all
It folds up to a flat rectangle , make sure you zig zag it back and forth to get the flattest shape.
There is a nylon bag to store it in.
At the ends, there are 2 thin rods that can be removed , you can link them together with their shaped tops and push them about an inch into soft ground..
It is possible to remove the hinge rods if you wanted to make a smaller wind shield .
This wont go entirely around 3 sides of a double burner stove, you would need 2
Its possible to join 2 together because of those shaped end rods.
The whole thing weighs 272 grammes
The panels are non magnetic so I think they are Aluminium though the hinge rods are steel.
This can be used indoors eg for a camper or tent as the bottom can support it all the way along without needing to push the rods into the ground.
Good value and useful for pretty much any stove with a flame.
Stove Windshield. (10 pannel)
These are a really handy gadget to own especially a large one like this its a little heavy to carry when hiking but on a wet and windy day they really help you keep your fire going or make easier for cooking whether it’s a gas stove or twig stove.
Personally I wouldn’t be without one now they are super handy and for currently under 10 it’s a bargain.
Comes with built in ground steaks (one at each end) and a handy drawstring bag.
I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme.
This is a handy windshield for camping or outdoor cooking on a small camp stove.
The plates are tall enough to shield not only the stove but the pot as well: the aluminium plates, 10 in total, are easy to move and arrange as you wish, and fold down to a flat, low profile bunch.
A lightweight nylon case is supplied, it’s not the best quality but it fits well and does the job.
For 8.99 I think it’s money well spent, your stove doesn’t have to work so hard to keep a good temperature if it’s at all windy and therefore you use less gas.
