Good quality material and built. The stitching us clean and durable. Perfect as an extra storage to hold and protect stuff that won’t fit in the boot of your vehicle especially when camping , travelling or moving. Very easy to install and use. Must have for families who love the outdoors.

I really liked the idea of this roof bag- you can use it to transport camping/holiday equipment but then don’t need to spend the rest of the holiday with a large/hard roof box on. We also have a smaller car that doesn’t have a roof rack or rails and so this is great as a temporary solution. However, one of the downsides compared to a hard box is that the hard box is designed to be streamline no matter what you have inside of it. This is designed to be filled completely and if only partially filled will increase drag and also noise. This means there are multiple straps around the edge for you to tighten once you have filled it. Don’t forget that unlike a box you are filling directly onto the roof so lighter items may be better.
To install this you firstly lay the protective/grip mat onto the car roof and then the box, then fill it and then attach it via three straps on each side. I’d recommend making sure you have lined up the straps to where you know you can attach the slips in the doorframe before filling it. If you have rails then you simply thread the bag straps over the rails. If not you use the provided attachment straps and place these into the doorframe under the weather seal and then loop the bag straps through the loop in the attachment strap.
At the other end loosen the straps, empty the bag and fold it back up by laying the bag flat, fold into 3rds and then into 4. It comes with a great sturdy large carry bag and fits into the bag easily- no squishing or forcing required.
This is a well-made bag, the material feels thick and robust. The zip goes round three edges and is hidden, with a Velcro strip over the zip to ensure it is waterproof. There are 2 string side handles on each side to help you manoeuvre it, and 2 of the main straps over the top of the bag have wide, reinforced strips. There is also a reflective strip running around the top of the bag. Each of the straps for tightening have a small Velcro piece at the end to ensure the straps are not too loose and flappy during your journey.

If you do lots of journeys needing extra space and already have a roof rack then a box is easier to fit and may be a better option but if you don’t have any rack/rails then this bag is a cost effective way of increasing your luggage space in the short term.

I’ve had this roof bag for a month and have been please with it! I have a small cargo carrier that’s been serving me well, and this bag fits nicely in it.

The quality of the material is great—it’s durable and waterproof, so it will keep your stuff dry in the rain. The zippers are well-made; they’re easy to open and close. The bag folds down small, so it doesn’t take up much space when unused.

However, I wouldn’t recommend using this without a roof rack—the material is soft enough that you could damage the car’s paint job by rubbing against it. But if you already have a rack installed on your vehicle, this is a good option!

I hope this review helps you to make a purchasing decision.

As we enjoy going on our little family getaways the luggage part has always been an issue.
We do like to buy our family gifts from the seaside and when we take our bedding to the caravans and everything the boot space and room soon gets taken up but not anymore.
This bit of extra storage has made a huge difference and now we can comfortably travel without someone’s feet having to be hidden by baggage!
It was quite nice and easy enough to fit to the roof and at a fraction of the cost of a roof box!
It is amazing how much it holds really and as I like to say every little helps!
It is weatherproof as we have been through some unfortunate rain storms and our luggage did not get wet and it was all just as it was as we packed it in.
If you don’t want the cost of having to fork out for a huge roof box and bars then this is the answer!
It’s my new best friend and I can buy that bit more on the jolleys! Hehe.

This is durable and tough. I found it quite simple and quick to install. It has decent water resistant qualities. The zipper is strong and reliable. It’s all been put together to be really strong. It sits fairly well on the roof of my Galaxy during transit. But would be better with roof bars. The system it uses without roof bars is secure enough but it would be even quicker to set up with the bars. Either way it’s way more convenient that a traditional roof box due to storage. It goes back in its supplied bag with ease. The bag itself is tough and not a cheap one.

This bag comes with a large non-slip mat and six hooks for hooking your door sill. It comes with straps and buckles for securing on your roof rack, it will work without a roof rack too for light items only.

The material of the bag is a very thick waterproof fabric with waterproof zips. As a result, the whole bag is also quite heavy and difficult to put back into its own bag. I did struggle to fold and put it back neatly.

Capacity-wise, you could easily put two 26inch suitcases in it, and will probably take four if you are able to stack them up or put them on their side.

The bag is soft in every sides and base, you will need a roof rack and possibly some sort of hard base plate to span across the roof rack if you are putting loose and heavy items in, or it will easily dent your roof.

The product is all good, it does not work the same as a hard shell box but depending what you use this for as it may give you better capacity than hard shell case but limited to what you can put in it. It instantly doubled my 4×4 storage space. It may not look the slickest or most stylish but it does the job.

There is a logo on the bag says ‘Car Top Bag’, could do without this stating-the-obvious wording.

Bag type is not the most secure either, could easily be broken in via the zips with something sharp, but it does have the advantage of folding to a smaller size than a full size hard shell box when it is not used.

Overall, it is a useful car top bag. You don’t want to leave it on top of car like a hard shell case if you are not carrying anything as it will flap while you drive, so bear in mind that you may need to keep taking it down and reinstalling it every time.

Excellent car top storage, could do with a larger bag to pack this bag i

I ordered this roof bag to carry my camping gear when going on holiday.

    Arrived in cardboard box.

Super large 21 cubic feet roof storage bag.

Quick and easy install with confidence, just drop door seal down slight and hook door clips to car body structure and bag is stowed securely to the care.

Will fit any car, no modifications or roof rails required.

Perfect solution if your car storage is not big enough, great design supplied with everything you need for safe storage above your roof.

Overall, this is a great quality product that does exactly what you want it to do. When removed you wouldn’t know you have every used a roof bag.

    I would recommend this product.

This is a brilliant car rooftop bag and so much easier than a hard rooftop box.
The quality of the bag is excellent and it’s quick and easy to install either on a roof rack or without.
Theres a mat to put on the roof before you put the bag on unless there’s roof bars in use.
Each hook fits in the car door and hooks to the top channel above the door.
The bag is over 600 litres capacity which is perfect for a family camping trip or even an outing.
Overall I’m a big fan of this and I’d love to recommend it.

A great roof bag, comes nice and compact and very stable once fitted. Really happy with the extra storage, and lovely and small to store.

We have a roof rack, this carrier fits perfect on it. The construction of it is really good and well made. It comes in a vacuum bag, I am not sure how it would hold good on a car without a roof rack, but one thing we did notice was it was a bit noisy.
Overall we are very impressed with the bag, highly recommended.

This roof top carrier is a great idea because we don’t have a lot of storage space so a conventional roof box isn’t really suitable for us but as this is a collapsible bag it is perfect as it takes up less space when not in use. We previously had a similar bag to this but you had to have roof bars but when we changed car the roof bars no longer fitted and the bag became obsolete but this bag can be fitted to the car without even roof bars. There are no instructions but it is fairly self explanatory what you need to do but as with anything like this leave yourself enough time to set it up the first time. The bag is a really good size, well made and good quality.

The roof bag fabric is of very good quality and works great.
Anything that goes in will be kept dry throughout the journey, having roof bars is ideal to install, otherwise you will end up with the bands inside the car, also the instruction indicates that the weatherseal needs to be removed, but no way I will do that as I cannot guarantee it will be put back on.
So as a product if you have roof bars I highly recommend, otherwise I would only use in emergencies.

After a disastrous holiday last year, we swapped our Santa Fe for a newer, but smaller Sportage. This gave us a problem this year when we had just as much stuff and less space. This roof bag solved the problem. We used it to transport clothes (in vacuum bags) , dog beds and a pushchair.

It’s worth checking out some YouTube videos on how to put this together safely given that this is on a car roof at high speed. I was nervous about pulling back the rubber trim to put the metal hooks in place, but it’s gone back after we got home without problems. We didn’t fill the box to the top, so it turned out to be pretty aerodynamic and didn’t seriously impact our fuel economy.

I checked it after ten miles and again during the journey, and the roof bag remained completely secure throughout, despite travelling at the speed limit on the M4. It’s possible, though not easy, to get it back into the bag, and once you’ve managed that, it’s easy to store. The contents remained completely dry throughout.

Truth is, it’s a hassle putting this bag in place, but no more so that a roof box would be, so it’ll probably only come out once a year, but it’s good to know it does a great job when needed.

Firstly it appears that it might be best to fit it first and then fill it after because it’s a LARGE carrier! – I have yet to take it for a test run, but I am impressed by this so far.

For comparison – if my research is correct – this is the equivalent of almost 600 litres! (this might help when compared to hard top carriers for example).

It arrives in a vacuum-packed bag, in a relatively small box given the size.

Within that, it’s contained in its own bag – the pictures with the drinks coaster on the bag show how I actually got it back into its carrier with relative ease. Not sure if that would be the same after a couple of hundred miles in awful weather. And, you are going to want to ensure that it’s fully dry before you do that as well. And with a bag of this size, if the weather is bad, that’s going to be a bit challenging.

This is no different from a tent or something in that regard though, and there’s no solution and it’s not a criticism of the product, it’s just something to consider when you are considering a roof cargo solution.

The non-slip mat reminds me of the same material for non-slip mats for a dashboard etc.

The padlock is OK, no more than that, if you’re carrying valuable items I’d be tempted to get one that’s a bit stronger – but it’s certainly decent enough given it’s just included in the kit.

There’s a flap that’s thick and seals with velcro over the zip. The material feels thick and strong.

The clips for the main straps are quite thick plastic, they would be an area that might a bit of a weak point. I never fully trust these but that could just be me – they’re used for all kinds of uses and they certainly don’t feel cheap. That said, with the amount of fixing points I am not too concerned about this. I would recommend reading other reviewers’ experiences – this is good value for what it is, but it still isn’t a cheap item.

In terms of the cost – 79.99 on discount at the time of review, which – if this proves to be as robust as it does give the impression of being – is great value. I’ve had a look around and it seems very fairly priced.

A caveat here, I am by no means an expert in rooftop cargo! It is in fact the first I have had, but now I have it I can see MANY uses for this.

Very happy with it so far! As I say, I would just recommend reading other reviews as well to get a varied view on uses and experiences to ensure it’s going to work for you.

    Five stars from me.

    A very large, robust bag.

This is a very good alternative to a more permanent roof box as it’s still easy and secure to fit and holds plenty, it even comes with a padlock which whilst probably not going to stop anyone with tools it should be enough to deter opportunists, quality is really good through and it holds enough for our weekend camping trips away which frees up space in the car so the kids love this too, when not in use it’s easy to take back off.

We bought this bag for a trip that is a 5 hour drive each way and it did great except for the awful noise from the straps. Like all the other reviews state, there are no instructions. It’s pretty easy to put up if you have a roof rack though. But what we learned is that it’s more suitable for a roof rack with cross bars. There are back and front straps on the bag that are attached specifically to go in the back and front onto cross bars. Our SUV does not have those so we attached them off to the side bars instead. That was what made the noise problem. It was a horrible humming noise due to the straps catching the wind the right way when you go over 40 mph. It was awful. So we decided to keep the front straps off for the ride back and it fixed the problem. The bag did not budge one bit. The mat it comes with helps a lot too. The bag held up great for the drive. On our way home we were in hours of torrential downpours and one suitcase had a couple of spots of water on it but nothing seeped through the luggage and we had it packed full. So overall it is a great bag and it does the job it is supposed to do. But be aware of the issue with the front straps if you don’t have crossbars.

I have a Volvo V90 which I thought would be big enough to move my daughter back and forth to uni, but alas she has that much junk, we never manage one trip. I didn’t want to buy a roof rack and a top box, or a trailer and I don’t really want to rent a van – she is just entering her last year.

This is a superbly made product which comes in a large vac pack bag (re-usable thankfully) and its own storage bag.

It is really good quality material – you can tell that it will be rugged and do the job it is designed to do.

I was nervous (not as much as my husband) about putting it on the top of the car without a roof rack, but we decided we would put lighter stuff up there and see how it faired.

The clips went onto the door edges with some care (we didn’t want to damage anything) and we put the bag on whilst empty as I didn’t want the hassle of trying to lift it up when packed.

We put holdalls of clothes and bedding in the bag and zipped it up – my husband was very nervous about how well it would stay in place and drove tentatively with it up there, but no issues on the one trip we have made so far.

This is a good way of creating a bit more space on the occasions that you just need to carry more than usual.

Very impressive bag, lots of connection points, excellent fabric and strong zippers. I would recommend using with roof bars, but is still usable without, it comes with a protective pad for you roof and an excellent combination lock. It’s a bit pricey but I think worth every penny. It’s also good for use as a storage bag outdoors.

    Very impressive bag

The amount of storage space is incredible. It fastens up really well and keeps the contents very well protected. It’s also very good that it’s weather resistant too. Holds onto the roof rack very tightly, and is easy to remove when needed. Fantastic product all round.

Needed extra space for all holiday stuff. Didnt want the hassle of a solid roof box so ordered this.

I was able to store in it easily 2 x inflatable paddleboards (both large ones) 2 x wetsuits and 2 x buoyancy aids. Might have been able to get a couple more small items in but didn’t try.

First journey was over 2 hours in pouring rain and everything stayed dry inside.

Putting it on and off is easy but we did have roof rails to secure it to. Straps are provided to secure through door frames but didn’t need them.

Really sturdy quality and did exactly what I needed for a really reasonable price.
