This is a great keyboard for beginners basically due to the amount, and size of the keys. I think learning on a keyboard with less or smaller keys would be a lot more of a challenge. However, because of this, please be aware that it is quite a beast! However, it is very light so actually not a problem to cart between rooms. It can also run on batteries although I haven’t tried that as yet. Headphone socket is useful to spare any family members from your tinkling!
There are a good variety of instruments and drum beats. I would say that the instruments aren’t the best but for the price of the keyboard are pretty good. Also, the keys aren’t pressure sensitive so are either on or off. Again though, for this price, that’s to be expected really. My final gripe would be the lack of a USB port.
Little gripes aside though, this is great value for money. If you don’t get on with playing, you haven’t lost too much and if you do, you can always upgrade to something better or go midi. I would probably suggest going with a stand though to make playing a lot easier.
Makes a good sound for a fairly inexpensive bit of kit. Nice resistance in the keys for a real piano feel and easy to set up with the right stand. Good range of voices but a bit complicated to work with the instructions at first; great fun and versatile once you understand how everything works.
Happy with this purchase. it is a good beginner piano. I would have preferred a better music stand instead of the simple wireframe which will only hold sheets that are bigger and firm. You can’t place sheets that don’t have some form of cardboard backing. Can’t place a phone or touchpad against the music stand either.
Other than that it’s a basic and good item. the different sound effects are not much to talk of but that was not an important feature for me as this is for my kids to learn the piano and not hammer away sound effects.
Would help to have key stickers as well which this didn’
A little basic but good for a new beginner. Difficult to play with different pressures on the keys though either key is ‘on’ or ‘off’ but can’t play gently or loude
Personally, nothing to dislike. I knew what I was looking for and I felt this product would provide everything I required from it. This has proven to be true, as I am using it in various ways and every time I need a certain sound, effect or combination – even something I don’t know until I hear it (!!), it gives me what I want.
An extremely economical option for this type of instrument and deceptively capable. I am very happy with it.
The product wasn’t for me, but my son, who was really pleased with it.
Lots of different tones and rhythms to experiment with. Great value for money and good fun for all the family. Easy to turn on Dance music mode and enjoy. Everyone can try to be a disk jockey 🙂
Great my daughter loves it finding it hard to get an adapter for headphones for it as they all seem to crackle
Very good value for money purchased 2 Piano’s one of each of my daughter’s and the thoroughly enjoyed having one each !
Purchased as a Christmas present for my kids (age 3 and 1) and they’re having so much fun with it. The “dance mode” function is fun and I even caught my husband sitting at it playing for some time (unexpected!). I grew up playing piano but haven’t played in decades. I like that there’s a little display that shows the notes (sheet music style and also an small image of the keyboard style) so you can figure out what chords/keys to play along to the preset songs. Fun for the whole family! Lightweight and a good size.
It shuts down by itself when it is not in use
Good sturdy keyboards. I’m still exploring the user’s guide, but so far so good
Just learning keyboard, seems to be ok, enjoy using it, sounds fine.
My 10 year old daughter loves it. Lots of great songs and sounds. Fab product, it is quite large.
Amazing piano form beginnings but one down side to this piano is there’s Ian no hole for a pedal to go into but all in all a good piano wroth the money I found you are starting off I’m now upgrading to a Casio CT 2000 and it has a lot more features but I was very happy with this buy
I bought it for my 8 years daughter who is very happy with this purchase, especially size of keys, number of keys and book holder, better sound, very good value for money.
Is nice product, just doesn’t have the piano sound I was expecting. The rest is fine.
As a first keyboard this seems an excellent product with very decent sound quality for the price.
This an excellent keyboard for the price. My daughter is really enjoying exploring all the features.
Good starter keyboard lots of features & decent sound, can’t wait to get a proper sho
I rated this 5 in each category, because its not expensive, and its fine for playing a tune
We’ve had this one day but so far my 10 year old daughter loves it and seems to be figuring it out by herself. I’m impressed with the sound quality but we will need to buy headphones as the ones for her phone don’t fit in the socket provided.
We already have the CTK2500AD which my 7 year old grandson loves playing on when he visits. He likes picking out tunes he’s learning at the school keyboard club, but especially likes playing with the dance modes that allows him to construct tracks with various parts and dynamics.
This 1500 keyboard is around half the price but has about 80% of the sounds and features so is obviously great value for money and was an excellent Christmas prese
Nice keyboard with lovely sound of it. Fast delivery and perfect gift.
Great keyboard for a beginner, enough functions to keep kids entertained when they get bored of practise too.
Daughter wanted to learn. Started lessons at school so bought this to use at home. She loves it.
Xmas present for grand child whos having lessons at school.
Love it busy practiceing been waiting for stickers to help o hope arrived today at last.
Nothing wrong with the keyboard but I chose Amazon over others with same price because they offer a promotion of Skoove. However, disappointed because there is no facility to connect to computer so Skoove can’t be used
My apologies. Skoove advised me to use the computer microphone and place it near the organ and it works
I’m no expert on keyboards (in fact I am completely tone deaf!) but when my daughter wanted one to learn to play music on I took a look online and the choice was bewildering.
So I spoke to a music teacher friend and asked her what I should be looking for. She gave me a list of things that the keyboard should have and this one ticked every box. My daughter is really pleased with it and is making good progress in learning to play.
This is a great keyboard-a step up I would say from basic entry level. Firstly although it says full size keyboard this is not the full range that a piano will have but bigger than many keyboards. I found it quite light and easy to move around, I imagine stands are available but I have been using it on a dining table which is a little high for comfort but fine for short periods. This has many of the features that you would expect these days, a wide range of voices ranging through 120 instrument sounds some of which are more effective than others plus some special effects, together with 70 rhythm beats including rock, waltz, jazz, country etc so lots to play around with. The stand out feature is the dance themes, hip-hop, house, acid, trance etc – 50 altogether, and the ability to mix and match a variety of drum, chord and rhythm with one key press and to loop and put your own top line on. For me this is fun to play around with, for a more experienced keyboard player you could really go to town to create some good mixes building up the sound using the various functions. A beginner can play a top line and put a chord and rhythm accompaniment so even with very basic skills you can get a lot of pleasure out of this. To be honest I haven’t got close to getting to grips with the full capabilities. It does offer built in lessons that you are supposed to use to play along with the built in tunes and learn as you go but these are a poor substitute for proper lessons or a decent book as the screen is so small. Incidentally the built in tunes are mainly traditional songs like Danny Boy or When the Saints go Marching in or light classical music like Fur Elise or Ave Maria – not a dance tune among them. The controls are quite confusing as in order to activate the various functions you have to combine key presses- there are 11 options on the function key alone – so keep the instruction book handy. The screen displays a lot of information within a very small space which is not always easy to see.
There is a headphone socket which I think you can use to record on a computer though I haven’t tried it. It is for the large size jack plug so you will need an adapter if you only have headphones with a 3.5mm plug. There is no midi input/output.It comes with a mains adapter but you can use batteries 6 X AA.
I would not suggest this model for a very young child who wants to learn as most of the keyboard’s capabilities would be lost on them but for an older child or adult serious about learning keyboard (or actually just for fun) this is great and has great potential even if you are not into dance music.
I would also not suggest this as a practice instrument for those learning the piano as it does not have piano weighting on the keys.
This is a large, heavy and sturdy keyboard. It feels well made and sounds fantastic. I am still learning how to play a keyboard and so am not using all it will do at present but I am looking forward to being able to do more and more as I keep practising. I have it on a table, where it is very stable. Our little granddaughter loves it and we hope it will encourage her to enjoy her music lessons when she is a little older.
This keyboard is amazing, and it’s big. Full size, so ensure that you have room for it!
Fantastic for beginners, there are over 100 songs built into the keyboard for easy learning, with so many different tones and rhythms and a dance mode for wannabe DJs!
Simple to set up with simple how-to instructions, and looks very professional and well made
Can be battery powered or mains and has speakers, but also can be used with headphones.
So far, so good! Great fun, but also really educational and helpful for those who want to learn to play the keyboard.
