I used it yesterday for the first time to make Fil Gumbo, which requires a roux to be made with oil and flour, cooked until it reaches a certain colour. Once the colour has been obtained you add the rest of the ingredients.
The roux is the most important part, which is dependent on good even heating.
The pan is exactly what is needed to achieve this, and this pan acted exactly as I expected.

I’ve already made several stews, a curry, chilly con carne and one amazing Uzbek dish – in all the cases the caserol did its job perfectly. Easy to wash by the way, even though I do it with my own hands as I’m still afraid to use the dishwasher to damage the caserol.

I originally bought one of these in blue and loved it so much that I got this one in green as well. I’ve now tossed my old, buckled pots and only use these ones. The quality seems great but it is slightly difficult to clean because it’s so heavy. Other than that, I’m very pleased!

    I’m glad I did!
It’s great quality, food cooks well in it, easy to clean after. Comparable to top brands but a fraction of the cost. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis pot is ideal for slow cooking in the Aga. Spray with 1 cal oil or put in a slow cooker liner to save on washing up. Put in a whole chicken, onions, potatoes and carrots. Check your cooking times. Mine is 5-7 hours depending on size of chicken. Check that the juices run clear when a knife is inserted into the thickest part of the chicken or use a meat thermometer.

5.0 out of 5 stars This pot fits in the Aga. Such a beautiful colour.

An excellent heavy iron pot, well enamelled and easy to clean. I use it for making sourdough bread and it distributes the heat well, provides a humid environment and if well floured the bread does not stick. Very good value for money at 30 and it looks good.

Ok I’ll cut to the chase the pot is brilliant for chilli, traditional Rag you want to cook for 3 or 4 hours in oven , soups or even bread but nothing more. It’s fine for a small family of 3 or 4, you can only really get 4, 800Ml bowl portions out of it. What it’s not is a big Dutch oven you can do a pot roast of 2kg chicken or a big joint. So no traditional French pot roasts with lentils or vegetables for you if you buy this. However I’ve bought another 8L oval one from same manufacturer for pot roasts. What more is there to say it’s cheaper then Le Creuset so you don’t need to be to precious about it.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersReview based on half a dozen uses so far.

Bought this to essentially make bread in as I needed a large capacity Dutch Oven.

They say don’t use enamel pots as it can crack. SO far so good though. Heated it empty twice so far and no crack. Time will tell.

As a stew pot, it also works great. Cooks evenly and once heated up, only have to keep the flame on very low for things to keep cooking inside.

Easy enough to clean if you follow instructions. Soak for a while if food really stuck. Then it comes off easy enough.

Cover had a very small bit of outer enamel missing on the outside edge, but I couldn’t be bothered to send it back just for that. And to be honest, once you bump it a few times, bound to be some cracks on the edge as that is the most vulnerable part.

Lid seals reasonable well for a cheap pot. Could be better, but only a small bit of steam escaping. I guess a top model, which costs 4 -5 times as much might do a better job, but cost/benefit ration is what it is….

    Can’t fault is so far.

And the green one looks super.

I got the green one and it looks great: I’ve only washed it once, in the dishwasher, and had no problem.
It looks just like the much more expensive brand-leader, I think it’s reasonably priced at a few pence under 40. Recommended, 5 stars.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have this cast iron pot with lid in beautiful red colour.
    It arrived securely boxed.

This non-stick enamelled casserole pot looks and feels well made, sturdy and durable without many imperfections.

It has its weight, especially with the lid on and food inside.
The pot capacity is about 4.7l and diameter 24cm, just perfect size for my family.

The lid knob is made from metal but somehow it doesn’t get hot when I’m cooking.
I’m using it now for about 2 weeks.

I like that this pot is versatile as it is ovenproof and can be used on all cooking surfaces.

I found it very easy to clean.

It must to be a very good brand as its skillet pan is ranked on the 5th place as one of the best available on the market on BBC good food website for 2021.

Excellent quality for the fraction of the price of the branded cast iron pots, so I would happily recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersThis pot was slightly smaller than I expected but perfect for 4 to 6 servings which is ideal for my purposes. It is heavy and it heats food evenly. It’s pretty – photos don’t really do it justice. I have lots of high end pots and pans and this one compares very favorably. I recommend it very highly.

    Beautiful and well made

I really like this lidded pot, it is a gorgeous colour and looks nearly identical to my Le Crueset Teal range. I can’t vouch for the manufacturing process or details, but it looks as good as my other premium brand pots.

It looks really well made, is solid and heavy, but not so heavy that it is difficult to lift when full of food. It is the perfect size for a hearty meal for 4 and I have used it several times so far on the induction hob and then into the oven.

The heat distributes well, I have dishwashed it each time and it comes out gleaming.

The handles and lid grip do get warm, so you need to be careful and remember to use oven gloves.

It is great, really good quality and great value for money too.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt’s hard to judge this until I’ve used it a few times, but it seems pretty good. We have a kitchenful of Le Creuset stuff and this is certainly well-priced vs. Le Creuset. It was well packed and arrived in perfect condition.

I’ve only used it so far for a casserole. Searing the meat on the hob and then cooking slowly in the oven for a couple of hours produced perfect results. Clean-up was straightforward. The knob on the lid is metal, where those on Le Creuset lids are heat resistant. You’ll still need an oven glove with the latter, when it’s been in the oven, but not usually when its just been on the hob.

I’m unhappy that there’s nothing to say where it was made. Nothing in the description, nothing on the box and nothing inside the box or pot. All I know is that it’s “Made by Nuovva, a trademark of P&M Quality Ltd.” But that doesn’t help. We try and avoid supporting the Chinese economy, because of all the wrongs being perpetrated by China around the world to people and the environment. So we wouldn’t buy this, if we knew it had been made in China.

Assuming it’s made elsewhere, preferably the UK, it seems worth five stars. Until we know, I’ll only award four.

Really heavy as it should be being cast iron. Its good for retaining heat therefore good for stew and soup apart from Casserole and others similar dishes. Cleaning could be a bit annoying due the weight but apart from that, a great cooking pot.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersCame well packaged in it’s own box. The dish is a great size being 4.7l capacity, 24cm (9.5 inches) and is a good heavy weight, cast iron. Straight away it looks very high quality and feels extremely well made. In its lovely ombre grey colour, it has two chunky handles to hold on to. The dish has been coated in enamel and with this less oil is needed when cooking because nothing is sticking to the bottom of the pan. It says to use wooden or silicon utensils, so not to scratch the enamel, personally I dont use metal based utensils in cooking for this reason. It also comes with a well fitting cast iron lid, which has also had a metal handle placed in the centre. Using the dish on a gas stove was super easy and I was really impressed. It heats up quickly and evenly distributes heat all around the pan. The pan is suitable for all hob types; electric, gas, halogen, ceramic and even induction. The dish is deep enough to ensure your foods not going to spill out over the top when stirring and perfect for stew, casseroles and other large sauce based dishes. Washing it up was so easy, nothing was stuck so no soaking or hard scrubbing was needed. Over all I’m super impressed with it’s great look, high quality, large size and amazing finish. It is very heavy and needs to be lifted, not pulled or dragged across the cooker top, so may not be suitable for some people. It’s a well made dish that’s built to last.

    Very heavy

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI chose this red cooking pot because it goes well with our kitchen. I have had cast iron cookware before, but am not a lover of the need to season the pans, nor that charred look that eventually builds up on it, I prefer things to look clean.

I have seen other enamelled cooking pots like this before, but never got around to getting them. The quality of the enamel on this Nuovva cooking pot is extremely good, and at least I won’t have to worry about seasoning the pan, as the enamel should be good to keep clean.

This feels like a quality item, like other cast iron cookware it is heavy, so it will take some lifting when full, this may be a consideration for you, so I just wanted to make you aware of it. The cast iron cookware I have had in the past gets very hot, and stays hot, this should be the same too.

You can use this on most type of hob, it’s fine on our gas hob, and you can use it in an oven, the heat must not exceed 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Centigrade) though. There are several instructions that you need to follow for cleaning and usage, so I have taken a photo of them to help you decide whether the cookware is for you.

For the quality and style of this cooking pot, I believe that 39.99 represents a good price. It comes nicely, and securely, packaged, so would be great if giving it as a gift.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis Cast Iron Pot with Lid comes well boxed so it would make a good gift. I chose the green one to go with the kitchen. I have another one of this style of pot which I got from a high street chain and this Nuovva pot is every bit as good and at a reasonable price. The pot is quite heavy, being made of cast iron with an enamel coat that looks really nice, perfect for presenting your creations at dinner parties or family dinners. The inside of the lid has bobbles on it which help the condensation drip back into the pan when cooking. This pot works perfectly with my Induction hob and will also go in the oven.
Lovely pot, just the same as the high street equivalents and at an affordable price.
