Appears to be well made of quality material.
Bought this to replace a far inferior camera & am delighted with it.
Not too difficult to set up.
Produces excellent quality videos & pictures, both day & night.
Intelligent tracking (when enabled) is impressive.
Very reasonably priced compared to others on the market.
A 128GB Micro SD memory card (bought separately) holds 12 days of recordings.
Overall, very pleased with my purchase, thus recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality security camera for a quality price.

Great price easy to assemble. I placed it so my sister could watch her back garden and rear door to the house, plus be alerted to anything, viewing can be done remotely from any location via one or a few smartphones. Settings and setup was very easy anyone with basics DIY skills should manage. Please note that I am not affiliated to this company, I just want to give credit when it’s due.

I have had WiFi_CAMs for many years and it was time to upgrade. I chose this cam as it has built in lights when it sensors pick up movement and when the light are on it records in colour. You can see it tracking people when they walk past. SD cards lasts about a week and they writes over the oldest file. Only downside is I lose connection on my phone and the only way to get back in is to pull the plug and it will reboot. Funny thing is when you reboot the camera is still recording so you don’t lose recordings. I will contact support to see if they can help with this issue. Good price for a camera that does the trick of covering 2 cams that I had before

The only thing I don’t like about it is the 3 cables, it looks untidy.
Picture quality is very good day & night, I’m still fine tweaking it but overall very happy with it, no Cloud storage, local storage micro SD card.

    Very good picture quality

Easy to set up and connect with wifi as long as your router is within reach of where you will be setting up your camera. We purchased a 20m LAN cable in order to set up. Once connected in minutes and installed app, you can immediately start viewing your camera remotely from your phone wherever you are!

Picture quality is great for the price and control of the cameral motion. Follows movement and recording is triggered on motion. Settings are easy to follow and works as described.

Excellent product if you want a simple easy to install camera. The only problem is it doesn’t record for more than 24hours because doesn’t fit a big memory card, but we are very happy with the product so much so that we got one for my father as a present.

Still finding stuff out with the camera but sofar it does everything I expected. Haven’t had time yet to set up FTP server on my Nas box which is how I plan to use it but if it’s as easy as the installation was it shouldn’t be a problem. Night vision, both ir or floodlight is very good as is the humanoid tracking feature.

After looking for ages at different cameras I decided on this one. Best decision. It works great. I used the ethernet cable to set up as I couldn’t seem to do it over the WiFi even though I know what I’m doing. The cable linked it instantly and it reset. Connected straight away wirelessly then.
We’ve been using the camera for a couple weeks with a 128gb card and it’s still not full.
It seperates any ‘alarm’ recording from the ‘plan’ recording for easy access. You can scroll through weeks worth of recordings.
The quality of the image is great, day or night.

I would highly recommend this camera!

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersBest Camera on the market and the price is very low for such a great bit of kit. I have had 3 previous cameras and they all have let me down with connection issues and bad app software. This was so easy to set up and add to other family members phones etc. You must have apple or android phone and amazon tablet does not have any app for it which is annoying so I can’t use my fire tablet to view it but you can connect to your pc or mac or ipads. Make sure you change the world time to UK as its on Asia and will stop recording when Asian time hits midnight because the times conflict even if you sinc time with your phone you still must do this…. Took me 2 hours to work out as I did not read manual enough. I’ve set up email alerts and get a photo of anyone who is within range. Set it to humans only so dogs cats foxes and seagulls don’t give me false alarms it’s great.

    Best cam and app

This camera did everything advertised. It was very easy to set up and produces clear, high quality video and pictures. The alarm function works well, giving ten second videos of anything detected, sometimes following the human identified around the field of view. I was pleased to find that it configured itself to enable remote access through my mobile network or another wifi network – no need to fiddle around with port forwarding. I installed it at roofline level on the corner of our house giving a 270 degree span of key parts of our property. Would recommend.

This piece of kit is high quality and surprisingly easy to install and get running.

The picture quality is superb and the software comes with so many settings and choices for the user. You can customise it to different situations based on your needs.

The fact you can control the camera through the app is amazing as you can then follow movement around or just simply look around the area where it is installed for extra safety.

I ordered one and tried it then ordered another one immediately which arrived the next day.

The camera comes with warranty and the company emailed me straight away to let me know I can contact them if I have any issues.

Highly recommend, 10/10, very happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersBrilliant night vision very clear, I used an image that blurred the person due to privacy, we have a problem with crime and vandalism in our area, this camera is brilliant, with mic, coloured night vision and alarm we’ve been able to gather evidence. The only problem we’ve had is not being able to access files when camera is offline. Other than that we are extremely pleased with camera, and for the price and not needing a system which makes it soo much easier. Images at night are very clear, this photo doesn’t do it justice, also has human sensor to detect any movement, and intelligence tracking.

I normally use a wired cctv system but decided to try a WiFi camera . I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this camera picture much better than my old system and with the added tracking option which is brilliant. I was so impressed that I’m going to change my now old cctv system to these cameras . If you’ve got good wifi coverage I would highly recommend. Brilliant system and at a good price.

Brilliant camera, bought on the flash sale so only cost 40, but well worth the money even if I’d paid the 60 for this.
Easy to install & set up in no time, we used the wireless option.
I’ve set up for colour & it has amazing picture quality even at night.
The motion detection is great, it picks up immediately & with the alarm mode I get notified straight away, so I can check.
I’ve set up the alarm noise as a barking dog, but you can have just an alarm bell or you can customise your own with a message.
    Definitely recommend

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersThe detection and tracking works well, however it’s a bit lumpy when moving the camera around but at the price it’s great value (50 was on offer) Great picture quality both day and night. Have problems at the start of the linking process but once it was linked it has been really stable on the WiFi and hasn’t dropped out once over three days since it was installed. The camera can be panned and zoomed from your iPhone and/or iPad and the live or recorded images can be viewed. The controls are easy to use.
The only thing l would like to see to improve the camera is the power and LAN leads need to be longer, it is approximately 400mm long needs to be 800/1000mm
    Overall excellent camera would recommend

The camera is well made and has a good amount of features to use to improve the experience with the camera. The advanced AI detection is really handy and works well with the detection of people and the way it automatically turns to always have the person in view.

All of these features are handy and my main motivation in buying the camera.

    8/10 would buy again.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI had been looking and looking at various cameras of this variety. This one stood out more as it had everything I needed… rotatable, great night vision, and very easy to use app.
I am disabled so had to ask someone to fit it outside where I wanted it. I hadn’t realised it needed an SD card until it was in on the wall, and wasn’t sure where it went to figure if I could do it or needed someone else to do it. I decided to email the company to ask. They got back to me extremely quickly. With pictures and advice. I explained I’d be getting an SD card eventually, they actually went and sent me a 32GB one! I finally fit it, and emailed to ask how to set the recording (I’d done it I just needed to check it was right) and again they replied nearly straight away with a succinct and understandable method.
As for the camera itself.. it has brilliant vision in both day and night mode. There are bright LED lights which are great when triggered at night. The control from the app is easy to understand and use. Someone said it had a 90’s layout, I’m not sure what they meant but I find the app user-friendly and self explanatory.
The camera has been battered by the winds recently and has offered only stable pictures and videos. The motion detection is spot on as is controlling it from the app. I can fully recommend this product. Not just for the product but for the continuing support from their tech team.

Bought this to replace an existing camera that would stay connected to my WiFi. Having read reviews of this product I was very hopeful it’d do the job. It arrived promptly and well packaged. The camera itself is quite large and has a plastic body so it’s not as strong as others, but it’s nice and light when you’re installing it. It connected to my WiFi straightaway and the app is great. There’s lots to play around with to get the precise coverage needed. It has a super wide angle lens and the picture quality is superb, day or night. It’s really stable on the WiFi and hasn’t dropped out once yet and I’ve had it several weeks now. If you want a moving camera with a great quality picture I would give this a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Already have a couple of Genbolt cameras, both working well. Added this GB 213, no probs. Except colour recording (at night) didn’t work. Contacted Genbolt’s excellent customer service and discovered that Motion Detection MUST be activated for the floodlight facility to work. Humanoid detection only won’t activate the floodlight. I’m not sure this is mentioned anywhere (although I could’ve missed it). Otherwise, the camera tracks well, records well, and colour footage is as good as you’d hope for what is a reasonable price.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersI purchased this camera after extensive reviews because it offers three things: 1) access to video stream via RTSP. 2) access to browser settings to set the camera up without any app required. 3) humanoid detection and large LEDs that automatically turn on to act as a sensor floodlight.

I am pleased to note that alongside functioning well as a camera these aspects are as anticipated, and I found it straightforward to the set up the camera with software such as Zoneminder. I believe this should be a basic feature of any WiFi camera in order to meet Wifi standards, so I hope Genbolt continue to offer this – many cameras actually do not have this so it is quite a selling point, and I wanted to highlight to others that they can purchase this camera knowing this works. It would be great if Genbolt could offer a small camera like the TP-LINK Tapo C100 or similar, that can be controlled by browser and RTSP, as I found in contrast to the Genbolt camera, the TP-LINK required logging into a wholly unnecessary account within their app requiring an internet connection, so I sent that back. I had an issue with one of the aerials being disconnected, however Genbolt customer support via email is very responsive and pleasant to deal with, and I was satisfied with the resolution. I can’t comment on the cameras long term durability but it seems sturdy with a metal casing around the camera area. I think they have a done good job with this camera.

Camera works well so far, but the instructions on how to work it remotely are not clear at all. It would appear that the camera must initially be connected to the landline for it to be set up properly. As the camera is mounted at the back of the house and the landline installed at the front, the set up has proven problematic to say the least. I had to use a rather long extension cable to connect the two and which involved many trips back and forward between the PC and the camera. It was successful, but only very briefly, got the mobile phone up and running, but on going into Settings to make a minor alteration, I must have knocked something off and it hasn’t worked since. I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling the camera but to no avail, which is very disappointing. Currently the camera records, but I have to take the micro SD card out, should I want to see what has been recorded.

Golden Review Award: 70 From Our UsersGenerally speaking, this is a pretty decent camera for the money. Seeing as it is ONVIF compatible and recognised by my NAS box and its surveillance software. It works well.

The android app is straightforward, and easy to navigate and can view snapshots and recordings saved on the added SD card, but as i mentioned, my NAS does the bulk of the storage work.

An occasion check on the android app has shown a firmware update, so at least its being managed.

With a best res of 2560×1920 at 30 fps, plus a secondary stream of 800×600.

    Minor niggles.
Software management could use some better instructions, but its mostly self explanatory. The Floodlights could be a bit brighter / bigger, but the infra red is pretty decent.

Motion detection is pretty good, but is sluggish to return to its central position.

But for the price though. no complaints.

This is my second Genbolt camera, my first one being a fixed camera.
The only criticism would be the multi connector lead is far to short.
I found the PTZ operation very easy to use and reliable, the camera has not dropped out since I installed it.
Auto tracking is very useful as it works and follows anyone walking up to the house.

This was my first cctv camera and did not think it could be this good for the price, but the quality of the video is very good, Warning, do set it up with your ethrnet cable to your router before installing it on the wall, you cannot set it up by wifi first, it says that in the manual but i skimed through it and thought i could do it through wifi, had to take it down and connect it with the lan lead, from then on super easy to use.
I have now bought it again for the back of the house.

Have already answered this, the unit was faulty sent back for refund.

    Update:
Since my first review of this GENBOLT camera I have received from them another camera to try and I have to say this one worked faultlessly with the SD card slot recognising the card immediately. GENBOLT have been very helpful in sorting out my problem and I cannot praise them enough and as such I would highly recommend this camera.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersThis is so good I’ve just bought a second.

I got this on a lightening deal and put it into my dads birdhouse. He loves it as you can rotate it and zoom in on specific cages and you can hear the birds singing even when you’re not there.

I 3D printed some brackets so that the camera can be mounted on any wall in the birdhouse or even on the unit which is on wheels so we can position the camera in any specific area we need to.

The camera is easy to set up and very easy to control. As I said earlier, I’ve just bought a second one as it’s so good.

The build quality of the cameras is very good for the money, easy instructions, but i didn’t really use them as ive installed alot of CCTV in the past. installing was very straight forward, i used wired Ethernet aswell as the power feed. the app lets you set up alerts, triggers and gives you the option of controlling the camera. other software is available for PC, MAC, IOS and Android. picture quality is excellent. able to make out details on people, cars ect. works well at night too and having the security light function is a bonus. you can set of alarms and warnings, aswell as speaking back through the app, i haven’t tried this yet but will do over the next few days.

I had to try 6 other cameras before I found this one. All others had issues of one thing or another. This camera did all i wanted it to do, and more, straight out of the box. The only issue I had was with the PC software, it took me a couple of days to get it to realise the password was correct. That isn’t an issue with the camera of course. The night vision is excellent as is the daytime and the human detection works very well as does the tracking. Within days of installation, we had a storm of rain, sleet and high winds, the camera worked faultlessly throughout. I am really glad I found this camera and can fully recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve had IP cameras before but this is definitely the best. It is amazing value, especially with the discount currently being offered. Setup was a joy, in fact it was so easy compared with other cameras I thought it had failed. But no, it logged on to my WiFi once I removed the ethernet cable and connected straight away. The iOS app works well and in an instinctive way. At some stage I’ll go through the printed manual (a nice touch as it’s pretty comprehensive) but for now I have a working security camera.

I’ve added a Micro SD card but am mainly using it via FTP to my NAS for long term storage so no “cloud” fees. Would I recommend it? Most definitely, in fact I’ve just ordered a second one to provide extra coverage of the garden.

Great camera simple to setup just plug into the Ethernet cable on your modem/router and follow the steps to add WiFi remove Ethernet cable and it’s all set to go via WiFi.
Picture from the camera is very good as clear as any high end priced camera. Zoom is a nice option works very smooth without picture quality loss the night vision is amazing very clear at night and well illuminated by the infrared lights. There is an option to use white led lights like a floodlight so will illuminate with motion or can be switched on and off manually. Recording all day with motion alarm setup seems to work fine if you switch off humanoid detection I couldn’t record anything with it switched on maybe it’s just me.
Simple to install just make a template out of card or paper also for those who are unable to hide the wires just tuck them into the back of the wall bracket they all tuck in and are hidden with the power cable the only wire coming out the camera.
The app is good easy to setup and figure out the settings. setup the camera indoors and have a mess around with the camera and app.
Also has motion tracking so can follow objects as they move across the cameras field of view picks up people and moves very smooth.
This camera is great a very good replacement or upgrade for anyone looking for home security you can also access the camera online via the cameras ip address just make sure you change the password to something you will remember make it more secure.

Overall it’s a great camera with some good features well worth purchasing.

Golden Review Award: 61 From Our UsersI bought this to replace another Genbolt Camera. The other camera was 5MP and this one is 3MP so I was concerned about the possible loss of quality but this one is very impressive with it’s night vision in colour.

The ‘Humanoid’ detection and tracking works very well, it’s a bit lumpy when moving the camera around but at the price it’s great value.

Unlike other companies who restrict your storage options to the camera and their cloud services, the GENBOLT allows you to store images locally, I have a NVR (Network Video Recorder) and a couple of cameras from other suppliers so can use them.

Possible the only complaint is that it’s a bit too sensitive as it picks people up on the road outside but I was impressed with the way it decided to point itself in the corrects direction as it is on the side of the house and points down the drive, and will track people walking to our front door.

Setup is really easy using the Genbolt Cam App (there are 3 apps by (Genbolt). I mad a template with a piece of card to drill the holes in the brick in the correct places. The power wire comes out through a hole in the corner of the window frame. One criticism of all the cam suppliers is that they don’t supply small junction boxes to join/ hide the cables, they should also supply a proper blanking plug for the network cable (i used a small piece of wire to block it. Another tip is to take a photo of the QR code on the camera – it would be better if this was supplied separately as well as on the camera.

I’ve had quite a few wireless cameras over the years so was happy to give this a try. The camera is quite a big and heavy unit than what I’m used to but I guess it’s because of all the features it has so that’s fair enough.

It’s a decent unit and for the price it sells for with the offers they have on it you definitely get a lot for your money. Setup wise, it was fairly straightforward and following the instructions was easy enough. Camera quality is good but not amazing, but then again for the price you really can’t complain.

Some of the features weren’t explained very well but I was able to figure them out, the tracking actually worked pretty well and having the built in lights is a cool little feature. At the end of the day, for the price it’s a great camera.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst thoughts:
This is a very professional looking security camera for the consumer market. The motorised control and picture quality was impressive as were the automated features, but it does suffer from a few impractical issues that let it down slightly.
The main issues that many of these types of camera seem to have is the bundling of the cables. If this is truly an outdoor camera then trying to pass the cluster of cables through a drill hole is a bit ambitious to say the least. There are 3 cables that come together at a junction and the combined thickness is wider than any drill bit I own.
I would have to drill through the exterior double wall, a cavity gap and the internal wall fabric with a head wide enough to pass it all through and if you look at my pictures, I don’t even think they’re long enough to make that journey. Yes I could go the other way but then I’d have the thinner power cable poking through to the outside with all the other cables hanging out there too.
I can’t see how this would install without any wires showing.

The other issue is that as large as the antenna array is for this, the guide does not want you to set this up wirelessly (there is an option but it says not to use it). I tried of course but I couldn’t get it to connect. You have to connect it by wire directly to the network router which I really didn’t want to do but there was no other way. Once it’s recognised via cable, you can then use the software to connect wirelessly. It’s easy to use after that.

Detail and things to note (See pictures):
IP camera which has motorised tilt and pan functionality. Requires a mains connection and comes with wall mounting options and wireless transmission antenna.
Powerful app based software that I can control with my phone. There’s a lot of customisation available for almost every aspect of its use so you’re going to have to spend some time with this to get the very best out of it. It does perform very well on default setting though so there’s enough to get started easily.
Set active zones so you can assign a hot zone to set active and the rest of the area will remain dead. This is especially useful when you want to monitor a door or entrance but don’t want to include a high traffic corridor or stairs that are in use all the time.
There are some in-built alarms and push alerts which are quite good. The dog barking (audio deterrent) was pretty entertaining but did sound like a dog barking through a microphone so maybe not as much of a deterrent as they want it to be. These can be fully customised along with how and where the alerts are sent.
HD picture quality is excellent in daylight, artificial lighting in the evening and in darkness.
Smart tracking works ok across the horizontal, I thought it wasn’t tracking but after reviewing the footage it just doesn’t move until the subject reaches the edge of its capture frame. It did struggle to keep up with normal movement in the vertical though. I managed to simply duck out of its field of view quite easily and it would only track if I lowered myself very slowly.
Feature laden app control as well as being able to integrate the camera into a full on NVR system (Network Video Recording). This can be downloaded from the manufacturer website if you don’t already have an NVR software management system.
Unfortunately the camera uses a bespoke file format when using the SD card option (file extension of .264) so I can’t just pop it out and view the footage on the PC. Files need to be downloaded or converted in the mobile app or my NVR system before they can be used outside of the software. As the camera generates a lot of files I found this quite inconvenient.

    Final thoughts:
I think this is a very good security camera which is elevated slightly higher with its motion ability (manual or automatic control). Auto tracking is impressive in what is a fairly low cost system and as an IP camera it integrates with my NVR system easily.
I’d recommend it for installation through wood or thin walls but I’ve no idea how to tackle this installation through thick external walls so I can use it in my external porch and driveway area. Still looking for a setup that addresses the cabling issue.

A versatile consumer outdoor camera but the cables are too thick to install through walls.

In the box is the camera itself,
Setup was quick and easy, the manual gives step by step setup instructions which involves downloading the app, connecting the camera power, and a cat5 cable between the camera and your Wi-Fi router, so that it can set itself up on your Wi-Fi network, this cable can then be removed, and the camera will automatically connect back up to the network via Wi-Fi.
Installing the camera is fairly simple, the base has a hole on each corner, the top two corners are fixed, then two small screws on the top of the unit can be undone (be careful they don’t drop out), allowing the camera head to swivel up, giving clear access to fit the bottom two corner screws.
I drilled a hole through my outside wall to allow the power connector to be fed through from the inside out, then used a IP rated junction box with a hole cut out the backside for the power cable to enter and the camera cables fed through a grommet in the bottom of the junction box. A squirt of silicone sealant around the hole in the back of the box before fixing it to the wall will help keep it sealed against any rain or insects getting in.
The image quality is really good, both during the day and at night with the infrared lights giving decent visibility in the dark, there is also an option of having normal lights come on when motion is detected, these lights are bright enough to light up our front garden when someone walks up the garden path, I really like this feature as it means I don’t have to fit an extra pir security light in the front garden as the light given off by the camera is enough.
The camera didn’t come with a memory card (up to 128gb supported) but its recommended to source and insert one before use so that footage can be saved, unless of course it will be connected up via the internet to a video recorder or server where this local storage wouldn’t be needed.
Really happy with this camera, it does everything I expected, and more.
The price is fair for a camera of this quality and it is more than adequate for keeping an eye over my property.

I use this in my back garden to monitor everything, it was tricky getting the power to it but that was due to where I wanted to place it. It features pan and tilt movement activated in the app and a handy floodlight which is bright enough to illuminate a decent area without blinding the neighbours. Video quality is decent and audio ok, I think this is a good addition to my CCTV system although I haven’t worked out yet how to connect it to my base unit via ip address but thats more a base unit issue than an issue with this product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis security camera is not your run of the mill type. Granted it is quite a bit larger than most but it has a number of great features that you just don’t usually find on other similar priced cameras.

The casing is made of white plastic and it has 2 large wifi antennas which can be positioned for best signal. There is a 3m power cable to the power adaptor which will suit some but not all installations and an Lan jack connection for the initial set up and if you wish to hard wire it to ethernet.

This camera has a very comprehensive feature set:

    – It has AI human detection to prevent false alarms and motion tracking.
    – You can set up to 4 specific motion detection zones for the camera to monitor.
    – Alarms with definable sounds like dog barking and floodlight.
    – Japanese 1080P CMOS for great image quality.
    – Full colour night vision and recording for better image quality.
    – Alerts to you smartphone to allows remote access of the camera and check recordings.
    – Auto tracking with 320 degree horizontal and 70 degree vertical pan and tilt.
    – Smart recording to a memory card (not included).
    – Support P2P, remotely view, timing recording, loop recording, timing motion detection, privacy mask.
    – Also supports FTP, NVR storage. The camera can be used as part of your alarm security system at home, office…etc.
    – 5dBi wifi antenna for longer wifi transmission distance.
    – Free Genbolt APP.

Setting up the camera for use I found you just needed to download the free Genbolt app and follow the instructions in the app which are fairly simple. The instruction book that comes with the camera is very clear and was useful in the setup and there is a YouTube link to scan for a setup video on the box.

While setting it up in my studio I discovered that you need to connect first via the LAN cable to your router then go to settings on right of camera, select Wifi Setting and connect to your Wifi.then simply unplug the Lan cable.

During testing in my studio the video feed was very clear, it tracked me around the room and and motion tracking time had no noticeable lag or delay which was impressive. I could not get the Zoom or Focus function in the app to work but I believe those features are generic to the app itself and do not apply to the particular camera as they are not listed in the product description.

Frankly there are a slew of great features on this camera that you can activate in the app, from message and email alerts to very loud motion alarms which gave me a real fright while testing it. Motion tracking with customisable sound like dogs barking to builtin floodlights is not common on these units especially at this price.

Given the easy of set up, great feature set, good app and bargain price I highly recommend this security camera. It can be added to an existing NVR / DVR security camera set up and it is very good value for money.

Great security IP camera with pan and tilt, floodlight and motion tracking

This security camera seems to be a good size, doesn’t have a bulky look, and has a good weight. Build quality is good, the plastic material doesn’t feel premium but is a solid made. Setup up is fast and easy, instructions are easy to follow, video quality is excellent, crisp and clean image, and night vision image quality is good as well. WiFi signal is strong, and the range is very good. The motion detection is good, is easy to set the detection zone, the camera does 320 horizontal and 70 vertical pan and tilt remotely via phone/tablet/PC, and all the recordings on TF card seems right, + the siren sound is pretty loud. Floodlight is not too powerful but it helps a lot for a good image quality. The description is very accurate, and this security camera does a great job, all the features work excellent, I couldn’t find any issues, and I recommend i

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI had no previous experience of IP cameras before installing the Genbolt.

It is well packaged and comes with most things you will need. It doesn’t come with a Micro SD card which it can use (up to 128GB) , but if you plan to record your feed remotely then it isn’t essential.

It is physically quite big but given that it has motorised tracking I’m not that surprised. The housing feels OK but I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to vandalise it so suggest installing it at height.

The box has QR code for both iOS and Android Apps. I installed using Android on Samsung Galaxy S9. The App is called ‘Genbolt Cams’. This allows full configuration of the camera.

To configure you need to plug the camera into your Wifi Router first using a supplied Cat5 cable. This allows your phone to connect to the camera ( as long as your phone is connected to the came Wifi network). At this stage you can enter your Wifi Network info into the APP which allows the Camera to work on Wifi when you unplug the CAT 5 cable.

The Camera can also be controlled by entering it’s IP address ( provided from the APP ) into a web browser. This uses an interface called ‘IP camera’ which allows full access to functions. There is also other PC software but I installed using a MAC and so didn’t install it.

Physical installation was easy. There are 3 cable ends (NETWORK / POWER / a small button which I don’t know the function of ) coming from the camera so If you want all to come through the wall you’ll need a apx 30mm hole. I just fed the power though which needed a 12mm hole.

The image quality is very good. The lens is 3MP — 3.6mm -1/2.5″. The 3.6 mm lens provides enough coverage of our garden. It can record in SD/HD.

    Good features —

Intelligent tracking — the camera automatically tracks someone once it detects them and follow them as much as it can.

Alarm — It can activate a sonic alarm — not ear bleeding loud but made me jump. You can also talk to someone through the APP as the sound comes out of the camera.

Night recording — It comes with some bright LEDS for illumination so can be set to record in colour at Night. This can be permanently on or triggered by motion so the LED lights come on.

The camera can be setup to send email / APP notifciations / Alarm when motion is detected.

The footage can be recorded to SD card or remote FTP site. The FTP site requires either a subscription to a service such as ‘Camera http://FTP.com‘ or you can set your own up which I may try.

Remote control — simple to do and the use of an external speaker is very clever.

    Works on 2.5 and 5Ghz.

    Bad features —

The instructions. It comes with a small generic booklet to give you enough info to get going. However they don’t provide detailed info on how to actually use the features that come with the software and the Genbolt Website is a bit lacking. I had to use You-tube with some trial and error to figure things out. If I didn’t know how to configure an email account I would have struggled with that a bit. The FTP side was easy enough but only after I stumbled on Camera FTP site. Not for the technophobe.

ZOOM — I couldn’t get the camera to Zoom in / out. The box says it can do this but it wouldn’t work for me.

Overall — very impressed with features for the RRP.

    very impressed

ecording on the micro sd seems very random but otherwise works as advertised.

This was bigger than I was expecting, and also much more feature-packed it’s really intelligent being able to track people and a spotlight and VoIP features, installing was easy with the hardest bit drilling a hole in the wall for power, you can use either ethernet or wifi, app easy to install and get going with. I’m really happy with this and the massive feature set makes it an amazing value for money CCTV camera system.

Great feature set and easy to set up
