I bought this set as I am just beginning to get introduced to watchmaking.

This set is perfect for that, as it has all the required tools to be able to open up case backs on watches, take links out of the bracelet and remove the bracelet from the head of the watch, as well as a lot of other thugs it is useful for.

I would highly recommend this set for anyone whether your just wanting to try it out or whether you want to progress more into the watchmaking industry.

I run a Repair Cafe in out town and bought this to allow us to deal with watch repairs and adjustments. It’s a comprehensive kit and very cheap for what it contains. Totally recommend it.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my dad as he loves and collects watches. Several of them needed batteries but he was reluctant to take them into the local watchshop. Last time it cost a significant amount and a couple of watches ended up with scratches on them.
My dad spent the day replacing all the watch batteries himself. He’s very happy and saved himself a considerable amount of money.
I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves watches.

This is a good little watch case closer for amateur watch repairers and do-it-yourselfers. I bought this to close a few watches that I needed to replace batteries for and it does the job. There’s a little wobble in the handle, but it doesn’t prevent the tool from working. It comes with 12 different multi-size adapters to fit many different size watch cases and crystals and 2 small cloths for extra protection for the watch. Overall a good buy and I’d recommend if you have a watch case that snaps shut.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have a couple of my quartz watches in my collection that needed new batteries. Replacing the batteries was a cinch. But closing the casebacks were a different story. This is where this press tool came in handy.

The set comes with a couple watch cloths, dies of differing diameters that screw on the top and bottom of the press, and the press tool itself.

Select the proper dies to use for the top and bottom, make sure your watch is lying flush and straight between the dies, and press. There ya go. Battery’s in, watch is closed and ticking, set time and date, and I’m good to go.

This tool saved me time and money from the having to go out and get my watches batteries replaced, and I guess if you really think about it, gas and mileage as well. To think a watchmaker at the mall charges $10 and up for what I just did in minutes. Yea, I’ll be doing my own battery replacements from now on.

As soon as you buy one of these, you wonder how you ever lived without it, it’s a great little set. I’ve used this to repair or sort out about 5 watches so far, from simple battery change to full glass and hand repair. The glass/back press let’s the side down a little due to its cheap quality, I don’t think any of the attachments have the centre hole actually in the middle which doesn’t help when trying to put even pressure on a thin glass face. The way round it is to loosen both top and bottom fittings and just turn each one until they both line up, then your good to go, but this unit is still reasonabley well made and does the job well. For the money, you really can’t complain, I would definitely buy it again with knowing the little faults.

I’ve accumulated a number of watches, none very expensive and most just tucked away in a drawer. As time went on their batteries died. Recently my current wristwatch stopped and I decided that I’d see if I couldn’t change its battery for myself and possibly resurrect the rest of my watches.

This kit has proved perfect for me as a home DIY’er. It covers every repair I will ever try myself. I’ve been able to open up 3 wristwatches and 2 pocket watches and change their batteries, change one old leather strap and remove links to shorten one metal watch strap. Not sure what I’d have been charged in a store for this but I’m pretty sure I’m ahead!

The kit is nicely made with plastic only used for the block to hold watch strap links and the block to let you mount your wristwatch while you work on it. All load bearing parts are metal as are all the rest of the tools. The press for closing a watch back is nice and solid and works well to remount the back. It doesn’t snap the back on but mounts it ready for you to apply the last squeeze with your fingers. I like that as I’m comfortable I’m not over-stressing the watch face.

All in all I’m very happy with this kit. I think I’ve already broken even on the purchase price and I’ll never pay to change a watch battery or adjust a watch strap again!

First thing I tried was a screwdriver, and I bent it. Then, because I’d never seen anything like the components of this pack before- I read the instructions . Set a watch I received as a gift 20 years ago into a little unit then used a prise ( both from the kit) to remove the back, then finally the supplied pliars to remove the battery. Needless to say I didn’t have a replacement but that’s not the kits fault – recommended!!

Once again, I sat with a watch I couldn’t get the back on after replacing the battery. Last time, I came THIS CLOSE to ordering one of these but at the last minute, hubby managed to cram the watch back on. This time not so much. So I looked at the available ones, read the reviews of a few, and ordered this one. First off, it got here quickly! I was only without my watch for a few days. Opened the box up, had a nice little instruction booklet. Unfortunately, it was for other products, not this one or anything like it. Well, okay, I will scoot myself over to Amazon and look at the reviews and such again and of course, there’s a couple of videos showing me exactly how to use this press. Picked out the right size of discs, set it on there, boom, there it is, done. Now like another reviewer said, I am going to go into my dresser drawer and find all the OTHER watches I couldn’t get back together and have a variety of watches to wear daily.

Good collection of basic watch repair tools. The only issue I have is with the dies for the watch back press. Because the threaded centres are not actually in the centre of the dies they need to be used with a great deal of care over their alignment.

I needed to adjust a metallic strap for a new watch I had bought and came across this kit of tools. Always a sucker for a new tool I purchased the kit and set about removing the pins, links and then using the tools to rejoin the strap again. All worked really easily and so cannot complain about the kit at all. Also I can now probably adjust and fix all sorts of things on my watches that I had never dreamed of doing. It seems really good value for so many component parts and so cannot fault it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI changed the battery on an expensive watch but no matter how hard I tried, I couldnt get the back to go back on. I realised I needed a back press, however not having one, checked a few videos to see if I could manage with a workaround. Despite a few attempts with various items… No joy. I bit the bullet and started looking for a watch back press and quickly
came across this set , which wasn’t much more expensive than the press on its own from other sellers. A comprehensive set which contains all you need to change batteries, adjust straps etc. Using the press, the back was back on in seconds. A small tip, each of the included moulds have 2 sides with a slightly different size on each side. When placing the watch in the press , you are looking for the rim of the watch front to sit on the edge of the mould and the glass face completely inside. That way, when you squeeze the press you won’t break the glass. I was then handed another watch to replace the battery. This time, a screw back… Fortunately this set also includes the screw back removal tool. Again, job done in minutes. Without that tool I’d have never got the back off. So far , 3 batteries replaced so the set has already paid for itself. Great set for the money and surprisingly well made.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersI needed this watch press because I wasn’t able to to close the back of my skagen watch by hand after replacing the battery. There are other watches for which I was able to snap on the back with my hands, but Skagen’s watch was giving me hard time.

The press comes with 12 dyes with different diameters (18mm – 50mm). Depending upon the size of the watch you would select two dyes and screw them on the base and on the top arm of the press. The dyes are made of plastic but the press itself seems to be made of cast iron, so it is stable but not much. You would still have to be careful to not tip-over the press while applying pressure.
The press also comes with an manual but it contains the details for a watch repair kit (which is not part of this item) as well as the watch press. The contents of the manual were not very helpful.
The arm of the press is spring loaded it keeps the press in the open position (so that the arm of the press doesn’t fall over the watch accidentally when you are setting up the watch in the press.) The spring is nice and does not require too much pressure to close it. I was able to operate the press with one hand only.
There are two microfiber cloths also with the press which you can keep on the op and bottom of watch to avoid any scratches.

I had purchased the watch repair kit separately ( Watch Repair Tool Kit, Danibos Watch Repair Tool Set Case Opener Watch Link Remover Spring Bar Tool Set. (24pcs) ) and the combined cost of the kit and this press is already cheaper than what a shop would have charged me to change the batteries for the watches I have used them with. Keep in mind that you would need other tools to open the back since this press only closes the back.

HOW TO USE THE WATCH PRESS
    Selecting the dyes
The watch press has two screws studs on which dyes are screwed (one on bottom and one on top.) The watch is kept on the bottom dye and the top arm comes over and presses on top of the watch. I kept the front side of the watch on the bottom dye. The bottom dye I choose was big enough that the frame of the watch was resting on the dye (not the glass part.) I also chose the top dye (which presses against the back of the watch) of a size which was little smaller than the back cover, so that when the top dye comes down it presses against the cover and not the watch.

    Placing the watch
The press comes with two microfiber cloths to prevent any scratches. I placed one microfiber cloth on bottom dye, placed the watch on it (with its front/face resting on the bottom dye), and then placed the second microfiber cloth on top of the watch.

    Pressing the back cover
Now this was the part I was nervous about the most. The first time I pressed the back cover, the cover did not snap in. I needed to apply more pressure. When I tried the second time the cover snapped in with a hard snapping sound. I guess with more experience you could get more comfortable with applying the pressure on the watch.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
    1. While choosing the dyes you have to make sure that the bottom dye (on which the face of the watch will rest) is big enough so that the frame of the watch is resting on it. If you choose a dye that is not big enough and only the glass part of the watch is resting on the dye, then it’s very likely that when you press the top arm over the watch, the glass on the face will crack.
    2. Top dye should be little smaller than the back cover you are trying to snap back in. Otherwise it will simply press against the frame of the watch and not the cover.
    3. Before you try to snap back in the watch cover, make sure that the watch cover doesn’t need to be aligned. In the inside of my watch’s cover there was a small notch/dip that had to be aligned over the top of the crown stem. Just look inside the cover and make sure there are no unusual indentations on the inside of back watch cover and make sure it is aligned before you try to snap it back in.

    OVERALL IMPRESSIONS
A watch press like this did make me nervous and there is potential of damaging your watch if things are not done correctly. It has nothing to do with the build quality of this press but it was the first time I was applying this kind of pressure to the watch. My watch was relatively inexpensive so I was okay with taking the risk. If you have an expensive watch or are working at someone else’s watch then you might wanna consider getting it done in a shop. But other than this I loved this press and it snapped the back in perfectly. This is a small and lightweight press that I can operate with my one hand. I have already recouped the money hat I spent on this press.

Fantastic press that saved me lot of trouble and money
