After searching the web wanting to start 3D printing i decided to go with the ender 3 NEO. Let me just say the set up videos were great and easy to understand. THE HARDEST thing to learn to do on this is leveling the bed. Take your time it will not be 100 percent level but if you get it right, this prints beautifully.

I purchased this as my very first 3-D printer. I knew absolutely nothing going in and spent many hours adjusting and fiddling. I purchased and installed the new leveling bed springs as a previous reviewer recommended. Getting the springs tensioned correctly and bed leveled was more complicated than I expected, but since then I’ve had near perfect prints.
As a beginner I learned several things: printing takes a LONG time. Learning why a print isn’t coming out well takes a lot of time and attention to troubleshoot. This printer uses a micro sd card to print files, a direct connection to my laptop was never successful.

After many, many hours figuring things out and getting it leveled and setup it is now running very smoothly and printing beautifully. The last few printing issues I’ve had are due to learning how to properly slice an stl file than the printer itself failing. Although I did have to replace the nozzle already (only about 3 weeks in since I purchase the printer).

The List of Main Parts in the 3D Printer Quick Start Guide were all included, but the X-Axis Limit switch to which one of the cables must attach was not included on the printer. When I downloaded the Creality 3D Ender 3D Printer Instruction Manual, however the X-Axis limit switch was one of the parts in List 1 of the BOM. I have contacted Creality Customer Service about this.

A great printer that can easily be upgraded to almost anything as you progress. Parts are easy to come by and are cheap. Only downside is, for a beginner it can be a very steep learning curve. Getting that bed levelled so it works reliably from zero knowledge can be tough.

I’d definitely recommend the cr-touch bed levelling so as long as the bed is almost level, it will fix any minor issues and just make the printer work until you gain some knowledge and perfect your bed levelling skills.

Watch LOTS of videos online and most importantly, enjoy it, it’s a bit of an adventure but 3d printing can be a lot of fun, once your past any initial frustration, lol.

First 3D printer I have bought. Got it for my 11 year old. Found it fairly easy to assemble with the instructions. Plenty of help online about setting up this printer and within a couple of hours of receiving it, started printing. Good quality prints from what was installed on the memory card. Plenty to learn about setting it up and playing with the settings, or just download pre-done designs if you wish.

I am a complete newbie to 3D printing. The machine arrived and needed assembly and that was a daunting task at first but with a little video tutorial help on YouTube I figured it out. Once I had the plate levelled and knew how to get started I printed one of the test prints which came out great. After some investigation I discovered a 3D drawing app and downloaded a slicer program and have within 24 hours learned how to design and print my own creations. I would say I have average technical ability. Great product for a starter.

I’ve always wanted to step into the world of 3d printing but always thought it was too expensive.but this model was perfect for price and reviews given great. When it arrived and I opened it,I was a bit nervous at first but it was fun building it,most of the complicated parts were done. Once built a quick video on how to balance out the bed and software loaded to the pc I was away printing , so far so good, now the only issue I have now is what will I print now and what upgrades can i get..one in particular I have already ordered is a tempered glass bed and more pla, a word to the supplier, thank you printer was well packaged and and came within a day, thank you I’ll be buying from your store again..

I’ve had a lot of different 3D printers, most of which being Ender 3 clones. Unfortunately I lost my interest in 3D printing so sold my printers, but decided to get back into it and so purchased this original Ender 3. If you have a partner like me who doesn’t necessarily agree with you ‘wasting’ money on 3D printers – all you usually have to do is just 3D print them something and that normally keeps them happy…

The assembly is tricky – it’s not like some printers where you just screw 4 screws in and you’re sorted. This comes in a fairly small box with lots of different pieces. The manual is really hard to follow. First step: don’t look at the manual. Instead, go on YouTube and watch CHEP’s video. He does it differently to the manual and it does help.

The screws etc are clearly labelled which really help with assembly.

I tried to use the Micro SD part to print a test print. However, when I selected an item and hit print, the printer just rebooted. I got worried so tried a different Micro SD card and it worked fine. Must have been a faulty Micro SD card which is a shame…

It is quite noisy so will probably upgrade to a silent motherboard soon, but it’s not really noisy…

First thing you print should be one of these fan covers. The fan for the motherboard is facing up – so filament etc can drop into there and block the fan. It’s an easy print and can be found on thingiverse. I actually like the fact that the panel to get to the motherboard is facing upwards, so it’s easier to get into there if needed, rather than turning the machine upside down.

If you’re wondering whether you should get an Ender 3 or not – you really should. No point buying a clone when Ender 3’s are very affordable nowadays. Also there are an absolute ton of resources on the Ender 3 to really help you. They tend to be very reliable as well – a lot of 3D printing businesses use them non-stop to create prints to sell. This also means that quality is good. Spare parts are also easy to obtain.

Also get upgrades such as a better extruder and a Capricorn tube. They really help and are very easy to install. Another upgrade is one of the Creality glass beds – adhesion is great and they’re very easy to install (you just use the provided clips to clip them onto the bed – you may also need to adjust your Z limit switch).

3D printing is so fun. It can take a lot of time to get good quality prints etc, but that’s part of the fun! I’ve made so many 3D Benchy’s (test prints) and still not there yet…

Highly recommended – I really wish I just went with an Ender 3 years ago!

I originally bought a different type of printer but when browsing Amazon I spotted the Ender 3 for just a tad more money.
I sent the other back as it really did not feel well built and had a small print area and decided to buy the Ender 3……. money very well spent most definitely.
Setting it up is very straightforward and ot all seems well built and solid.
The Creality printers can be upgraded for little money and very easily.
I did have a screen issue but the service team rapidly sent me a new one and all was very good.
If you are looking to have a go at 3d printing then this is a great printer to buy backed by fantastic customer support.
Buy one you won’t regret it !!!

Straight out of the box, the assembly is easy, set up simple and was printing the test dog in under 60 mins.
You can make anything, repair that broken plastic part,or make an articulated dragon. The print quality is very good. Go on treat your self, you deserve it. Recommend to everyone from beginners to advanced.

It is one of the best things I have ever bought. You can make anything. It's easy to use

This is a nice printer for the price, it’s easy to set up and use with the program provided. the one thing I will advise anyone getting this is to get a glass plate as it makes it easier to remove the print and also heats up better and more evenly.

I have been curious about 3d printers for a long time and since I had a voucher and this seller was selling the Ender 3 at a really good price I decided that if I were ever going to get one,now is the perfect time. The package arrived on time and in great shape, with all the necessary components for assembly. The process of assembling it looked a bit daunting at first, but I believe that if I were to do it again now,it wouldn’t take anything like the 2 hours I spent putting it together. The instructions were ok and pretty easy to follow but I feel that the aluminum channel pieces could have been more clearly labeled to make steps 1 and 2 of assembly a little less of a head-scratching affair, trying to sort out which goes where.

I have never had or used a 3d printer before now but I have watched a lot of videos about 3d printers, so bed-leveling and temperature-setting were simple and easy to do with the provided equipment and software.

The machine itself isn’t super noisy or bulky, you could easily set something like this up in your dining room or crafts room on a small table, start a project and walk away from it for a few hours and forget that it is running.

I am now partway into my first printing project, the test pig,and I was pleased by the fact that with no experience whatsoever I was able to get good bed adhesion and proper leveling going off of tips and hints that I picked up from the internet. I have no idea whether the lamination or layer evenness or any finer details will be poor, adequate, good,or excellent at the end of this print, which is why (and the only reason why) I have given the product 4 stars in these areas. I expect they will be very good based on what I am seeing now.

Overall, the main thing that has kept me from getting a 3d printer up until now has been price, accessibility for a new user of this type of product, and fear of getting it out of the box and discovering that I have no idea how to properly set it up or use it even with adequate instruction, and worry about spending a lot of money on a machine I don’t use because something about it didn’t measure up to my expectations, but the Creality brand and the Ender 3 model are both well-established and have tons of information and support out there to help you with any issue relating to setting up or using the product, and honestly, the instructions and parts included in the box are good enough to get your machine properly assembled. I am so,so pleased with the quality of this 3d printer and feel like a wide-eyed kid watching this little machine conjure a plastic pig seemingly from thin air with its mesmerizing whirring dance.

I have not been paid or given anything by Creality or the seller to leave this review or say anything about this product, neither positive or negative. If you have never owned or used a 3d printer and you are reading these reviews and thinking about purchasing one, just do it. Get the Ender 3. You’re not going to be disappointed.

I had ordered this printer to print stuff and for the enjoyment of building it. Everything is great but the instructions. Firstly the nozzle was not touching the bed because the end pressure thing was not plugged in then it dug into the bed because it was too low so I had to higher it. Then because I’ve never used a 3D printer before I did not realise that you have to put the file meant through a feeder which I though was inside the extruded but apart from that it’s grea

I consider myself decent at diy etc but even for me this wasn’t the easiest to put together. The instruction booklet you get with it is next to useless. I had to watch videos to help build it.
Having said all that it’s incredibly good for the price. You could probably pay double for a 3D printer and not get results as good. Been very impressed so far.

The Ender 3 is a great printer for anyone who wants to get into 3D printing. Assembling the machine helps you understand the concepts and adjustments that can me made to get the best out of your printer. There are plenty of videos on YouTube which will help with assembly – if this is your first printer, definitely check them out.
Make sure you take your time to put it together properly and that the bolts and belts are all right enough. Some of the preassembled parts may have loosened on their journey from China so it’s worth checking them too.
Very impressed with Comgrow. As soon as the printer arrived I received an email offering help and support if I needed it. Great service for a budget printer.
The print quality for a machine of its price is astonishing. I would recommend the free Prusa Slicer which has preset profiles for this machine – you’ll get great print quality and I think it is a little quicker than Cura too.

All in all, I am very pleased with this excellent value printer and impressed with the attentive customer service from Comgrow.

Came with a memory card with software and some 3D models to print off . The 3D printer was well packed and everything was there . There is about a meter of filament to get u started. There is also tools that are needed to put it together included .
Overall a great 3D printer and a fair price.

    Amazing!!!!
Took a little over two hours to build, I only had one issue with screws but that was my mistake.
After bed levelling my first print was a headphone stand based on The Mandalorian. Minimal infill and with a thin wall thickness printed without any issues.

Instructions are cryptic, to say the least. Found a few good videos on YouTube which helped a lot.

    Definitely looking to print farming

One step closer to star trek style replicaters!

Fantastic starter printer. A few upgrades needed if you want ease of use or it to be quite but expected at the price. Though if you buy it I suggest you understand you need to be technically minded… prepared to fiddle and tweak a lot. And realise it’s a plug and play device. Good understanding of computer software recommended also.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI purchased the Ender 3 as a Christmas present for myself and have not regretted it for a moment.

Putting the unit together was not easy using the included instructions, in fact it was almost impossible, but then there are some amazing videos on YouTube that walk you through the process. After viewing one of these videos I had the unit put together in a couple of hours. It took time to do, but then that is part of the journey of 3D printing; it is not a hobby for someone who wants to simply plug-in and go!

As a novice to 3D printing I have found the Ender 3 very easy to use and that it produces some really nice quality prints.

I have had failed prints, I’ve had some outright failures, but that is more down to print settings than the printer.

Levelling the bed is not difficult, though it takes a little practice.

All in, the Ender 3 has awakened the engineer in me I never knew existed. It is a great purchase and one that I’m glad I made.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHonest review on this printer. Right, here we go.

The printer came very smartly packaged, with everything included in separate packets. All screws came in their individual packets making it very easy to sort them out.

Putting it together wasnt as much of a hassle as i thought it would be. The instructions are OK, just a bunch of pictures on an A3 page. I recommend watching a youtube video, i managed to get mine build in roughly 2 hours working fine.

The printer also comes with an SD card, and USB converter/adapter. This has some test files and the software for the printer.

Easy to control, and work with. I recommend this printer for all starters.

Along with value for money, which 8 think is excellent, Amazon wants me to mention the product’s warmth and thickness. With a nozzle temperature of 210C and a bed temperature of 60C (For PLA prints) I guess I could describe the printer as warm. The thickness of filament I’m using is 1.75mm which is quite thin. Not as thin as the 0.1mm layer height but that just adds to the amount of detail I can incorporate in my prints. Overall very happy, but confused by the way I have to review it. It’s a 3d printer, not a scarf.

This is my first 3D printer and I am now hooked! If I could I would buy another one as it’s very rewarding to just print the many modifications (as shown in the image). If you can afford to then also buy the Creality silent motherboard 4.2.7 as the stock board is a little noisy (easy to change).

The print speed and quality out of the box is excellent and only took around 2 hours to build using the printed instructions (once deciphered) although there are many videos online, ‘Teaching Tech’ is very good and has helped me through most installations and mods.

    Awesome!!

First 3d printer i have used and decided on this one after some research. Had a small budget and this fell into the price range.
WOW. what a machine. Currently printed about 6 or so things and the quality is amazing.
The instructions are pretty useless to be honest but there are several in depth assembly guides on YouTube that will be required as the initial assembly is quite fiddly. Once assembled though everything else is a breeze.
Getting used to the software takes some time and watching some tutorials (again good ones on YouTube) but once you have your head around that it is magic.

If you have not tried 3d printing i would recommend this to everyone.

you might want to consider getting some upgrades along with it such as nozzeles, pla extruders, fans, and possibly maybe even one of those brackets to reduce the noise. Over all it was pritty good and trustworthy, just make sure you level it properly and everything should be good.

Great piece of kit, got it built, configured and running fairly quickly (made the dog in the gcode files that come on the sd card with it). Recommend watching the how to videos on you tube before starting the build as you need to level the print bed, set the end stop switches and turn the wheel offsets to get everything lined up correctly before using.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m reviewing this printer after owning one and using it pretty much daily for a year.

The Ender 3 from Creality is great value for money printer that can out preform many more expensive 3D printers, its a very simple printer to assemble and get up and running. I’ve owned the printer for a year now and it still ( with very little maintenance) prints like the day I brought it.

I would highly recommend buying a glass bed to go with the printer as it makes removing prints easier.

Its a sturdy printer and is perfect for the price,
Takes some adjustment to get the bed right, but once that done you are set to go. Have printed off almost a full reel now and it’s still going strong!

also not that noisy, especially with earphones in.
( the ability to turn the device off overnight and resume prints in the morning is sooooo useful)

Fantastically well packaged, well laid out. I had iit put together in less than 40 minutes (yes i did time myself) and after 10 minutes of reading a tutorial online (no actual manuals with the product shame really) I was printing out my first test piece. flawless.
I have had a few fails, but they were always user error. Just read the lables on your spools of PLA and your good to go, I also purchased a glass bed, so tip is raise your temperature another 5 degrees and your golden.

I made the mistake of getting a slightly cheaper 3D printer, and spent alot of time and effort trying to get it to do something. The Ender 3 pro took 30 mins to assemble, same again leveling, then started first print which was absolutely amazing! Confident to leave it running and not mess up. The build quality of the machine is second to none! Instructions arnt the best, but loads of videos online.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersPerfect printer to get started with few upgrades will be needed but can be done over time, some set up will be required. Produces good prints. Uses 1.75mm filament pla but to use petg or abs you will need to upgrade ptfe tube or install a micro swiss all metal hot end. Just remember when you test the motors upon unboxing and assembling to preheat you hotend to 185c before trying the extruder motor or the extruder will not work…

    Update.
I would highly recommend replacing the heat bed springs as the ones fitted are useless as you will be messing around leveling the bed for every print, i have replaced my springs with the stronger yellow springs found on amazon and i have compleated 5 prints without having to messabout with leveling the bed.

  42. Anonymous says:

It’s a simple design, well thought out and in theory should work very well right out of the box, well almost.
I like the chunky heated bed, it does give a level of confidence that things shouldn’t move or warp or twist during the print. The bed levelling handles are a great help doing fine adjustments.

Assembly took some time. Out of the box the Y axis had several points where it stuck when moving by hand. On closer inspection the rubber wheels, or rather the bearings inside, caused this. I had to remove the heated bed and realign the Y axis wheels to achieve a smoother (but not perfect) travel. I took time to make sure the vertical posts were indeed vertical with an engineer’s square. The holes needed a little deburring which improved things, but ultimately it required careful shimming with pieces of plastic cut from a bag in the box. The X axis took some aligning too, again, careful checking with a square and making sure the wheels just engaged the posts with no slop. The Z axis stepper needed shimming out a little to make sure the threaded rod had the same gap from the vertical post at the top and bottom. Would be 5* if the small QC issues were addressed.

I would work out of the box as they state, however your prints would improve in quality if you took time to make sure things were smooth and square at every stage. Finally, level bed, then repeat several times!

Golden Review Award: 80 From Our UsersOk. I tried an Anet A8 from Ebay. Let me put it this way: If I had just thrown 50 down the drain, I would be 20 better off. Utter junk.

Then I bought and Ender 3 CLONE from Ebay. it seems that some people will not learn!

Finally, I bit the bullet and bought an actual Ender 3 on Amazon. I am glad I bought the other two because it showed just how bad things can be before you get the item you really should have bought in the first place.

So, let me quickly start with how it arrives. In a VERY well thought out and arranged box. The quality is in a different league to the copies, so don’t waste a second looking at those. Came with everything nicely labelled and spare bolts also. Good tool kit.

Now the assembly. OK, it is a doddle BUT the manual was virtually unreadable. I just looked on YouTube and followed one of the guides online. It took about 30 minutes in total from box to running.

So, is it worth it? Hell yeah! It is a very well designed machine and print quality is exceptional.

Downsides? Plenty. First job is print yourself the many, many printable modifiactions, starting with the main board top fan cover. Then the 3 cable chains to stop the cables snagging. Really Creality, you could have thrown them in!

Oh – the micro SD slot. Perfect if you are a wizard and have magic powers. For the rest of us GRRRRRRR! right at the lowest edge of teh front of the machine and a pain to reach. The cut out in the panel is larger than the micro sd slot. So, it is very easy to put the micro sd card in ABOVE the actual slot. And when you do that it falls inside onto the main board. Only 3 screws top remove the top and retrieve BUT power off of course and there is a rsik of disturbing something. So mod number 2 is to get a micro SD to nornal SD cable and print out the holder that clamps next to the screen.

Talking of the screen, it is bright and clear. Menu is logical and very easy to navigate.

Then there is the heat plate surface. It is GREAT for adhesion – a little too great though. It does have some flexing, so getting stuff that you printed off is not such a big deal when it cools a little, but the thin outlines it does before an actual print seem to stick like something to a blanket. Think of blood under your thumnails and a lot of bad langauage and you will get the idea! An upgraded heat plate is a must.

I have opted for the TFT touchscreen and associated SKR 32 bit main board, plus the aluminium extruder – mainly so I can use the old stuff in my Ender clone that will end up being ALMOST an Ender 3 that I can use for a spare.

If you have used a Prusa clone or the many A8’s out there, you are in for a treat. Think of an old ropey Fiat Panda compared to a new BMW X5. It is that big a deal.

Now, if you have never 3d printed, it is easy BUT S-L-O-W-W-W-W-W. It took 5 hours to print 25 chain links at draft quality! They came out fine and are on the machine now, but the speed is just like watching paint grow or grass dry – you know what I mean. Painfully slow, but also very hypnotic.

Learn about overhangs! Just beacuse the software says it will print does not mean it will. You simply cannot have a 10cm bit of PLA sticking out without support. Do some homework. I sugggest watching Mixchael Laws’ youtube vids on the Ender 3. Very smart guy, very good teacher and you will learn much and save lots.

Don’t think about it – buy it!

Excellent printer. Enjoyed building this. There was a problem with one of the parts missing a bracket but customer service was very good at sorting a replacement. The printing is very good. Bed adhesion is good and had no problems. I use 185 for nozzle and 50 for the bed and had no problems. There is thousands of products to print and I use thingverse a lot as well as various other sites. This is a quality product for a good price. Thinking of buying another one to do bigger projects.
