Zombicide Season 2: Prison Outbreak is a collaborative game for 1 to 6 players, ages 13 and up. A game can last for 30mn (beginner board) to 4 hours (expert board).
Each player controls between one (for 6 players) and six (solo game) survivors of different backgrounds and origins, all battling zombies in a prison and its surrounding areas. Through the missions featured in the game, your team tries to clean out the prison and make it into a safe haven. Good luck – you’re going to need it.
Survivors must accomplish specific goals while constantly battling zombies and gaining new skills in the process. Be careful, however: the Danger Level rises with your experience, and the more zombies you kill, the more zombies come for you. In the end, swarms of zombies block your path to victory. Luckily, you have the will and the weapons to kill them all!

Special effort was made to create detailed and diverse miniatures. Most zombie types come in various models. Zombicide Season 2: Prison Outbreak features different models for Survivors and Zombivors as well. Zombie models come in two colours: grey for standard and brown for the dreaded berserkers.

Track the zombie body count, your acquired experience, and all the equipment in your inventory with these ID cards! If your favourite survivors fall to the horde, never fear. They can get back into the game as zombies heroes, knows as ‘Zombivors’. Flip over your ID card, choose new Zombivor powers, and keep up the good fight!

Pros: arrived much earlier than expected, in great shape. Loved the new rules, they added a lot to the base game. New characters and new abilities added a lot.
Cons: holy cow, the miniatures for the player characters are *incredibly* cheaply and poorly made. Like something you’d get out of a “20 figurines in a bag for a dollar” at Walmart. I’ve seen green army men figures that were better. Zombie miniatures were good (about a 8/10), player ones were at best a 2/10.
Great Game. I already had season 3, and this one is also nice with a lot of models. The new berserker gives some new challenges.
I would had prefer more heroes rather than having the zombivor version of them…
Great addition as well to your zombicide collection. But can also be played as a stand alone game 🙂

Amazing game, I would definitely advise playing the first zombicide game before you get into the craziness of this one, for starters there are a lot of rules in the original game never mind all the extra ones for this, plus this one is a bit more manic, that’s not saying the first instalment isn’t crazy and fun, but if you have played the first game this is a must, well worth the money.

Excellent game play!! honestly cannot put this back on the shelf!! More effort could have been made with the plastic the miniatures are made from… difficult to paint but once you get a really thin base coat on they aren’t too bad in all fairness but I felt 5 stars given the price was a tad over the top.
Zombicide seasons 2 is the best. News player and news zombies. News weapons and news roles. S2 is more Zombicide for your fun.

I play Zombicide with a group of friends every Friday night, and of the 13 people who have subbed in and out each week, not one of them has had a bad time. This sequel game expands in some interesting ways, adding even more depth to gameplay. While there are a few kinks to be worked out (which are easily solved by house rules), it’s still 100% worth the asking price.
Can’t wait to start collecting the rest of the series!

Per quanto riguarda i materiali sono ottimi. Giusto le carte lasciano un pochino a desiderare. Come tutti i giochi distribuiti dalla Cool Mini or Not le miniature sono a dir poco fenomenali, belle e molto particolareggiate.
Il gioco molto longevo, ci sono parecchie missioni e se ne trovano parecchie anche su internet.

Just a great all round game. Fun to play and the components are first class. Worth getting if you can grab it for a discounted price.
What makes this game really great for me is how well it plays with one person. It’s still quite a challenge each turn to determine the best survivor activation sequence based on the situation you find yourself in during that specific turn – and each turn will be different, there is no “optimum standard activation order” that you can determine and use every turn. Watch out for those “extra Zombie activation” cards!
With the addition of the Berserker zombies, good powerful melee weapons now become critical to survival. Nothing like a good old concrete saw to save the day!
The reason for the 4-stars is due to the game board tiles. My tiles came warped and will not lie flat, not sure how to fix this. Would be nice if the game manufacturer reads this to send out the Prison Outbreak Tile Expansion set to correct this – just a subtle hint.

Fun co-op game. i thought about playing a solo mission, which I don’t usually try to do with board games (solo play is for video games, right?). I’ve only been able to get a few plays in, but every time is a different experience. One guy was complaining it was too easy the first time (we played the easy into mission) and the next time we played (a medium mission) we were running for our lives (thanks to bad draws and poor teamwork). It can suffer from “Alpha gamer” issues like many co-ops (one guy trying to tell everyone what to do), but it can also have a “weak link” type effect, where one crazy/wild-card type player can alter the game. I’ve had a good time every time I’ve played it and can’t wait to play again – which is really all that matters to me when rating a game.
As for value, the miniatures are nice. Better than tokens or something. I was hesitant to by this game as it was the most expensive board game I had bought, but it was worth it. (Actually, this was a gift for my wife). We’ve spent a couple nights playing with friends and so the price per hour of entertainment is about the same as going to the movies, and with each additional play, it will only get cheaper. Plus, it is WAY better than watching a movie.
Tip – read the instructions (and maybe play a quick sample game) before you take it out. The principles of play are relatively easy, but the “stacking” (who gets shot first, etc) and special rules can get annoying if you have to constantly look stuff up.
The new additions to the game as a whole new level of excitement and repeatability to the original game and the mall expansion along with it being a stand alone. Only use I have is getting all the pieces back into the box in an easy manner. Beyond that small issue everything is grea
Played this three times in a row for game night. I like the color-coded berserker zombies in orange. The detail on all of the miniatures is high. I wish the female runner didn’t have the stick supporting her lifted leg, however, the appearance of motion for the runners carries well. I’m looking forward to buying at least one additional special guest character set as it is tiresome having to run from abominations or searching repeatedly to get the concrete saw or the glass bottle and gasoline to create a Molotov cocktail in order to destroy the abominations. Still, we do enjoy the oncoming zombie horde that slowly, and sometimes quickly, accumulate. Great suspense that leads to excellent group strategizing and a willingness to see it all through.
Myself, my partner and my friends are all very addicted to this game. If your in to this type of game i would i strongly recommend it.
Pros: great new rulez for Zombies (love those berserkers!) and cars. New skills for survivors. New item cards. Rules still fairly simple – more stratagy than S1 but not as complicated as S3.
Cons: not a lot of “variety” in tiles. – this wasn’t a big issue as we all really like the prison theme, real similar to “walking dead”, I’ve heard though some people prefer the tile set from S1 more.
Recommend: pick up toxic mall. At ~35 bucks it makes a ton of sense with S2 as you’ll get 10 more survivors, more cards, and toxic zombies!
Loads more fun although I dislike the game play mechanic of becoming a zombie. But it has its ups and downs.
It’s Zombicide. I love these guys and what they create. Prisons add a nice element, giving more variety from the streets of downtown or small town. It gives more over to the ability to have “keys” and “switches” to open up doors than the previous.
My only gripe is they started complicating the game, and with that they complicated the scenarios. My group struggles with most the in game scenarios, so we use a lot of player made, or create our own, since one of my favorite qualities of the game is it allows you to so easily create your own game.
Overall, awesome addition to an awesome franchise.

I don’t have the original, just the prison game but there isn’t a need to have both.
I did find however that when we were first playing we would quickly run out of walkers so may purchase more in the future.
I have this game with season 1 and the Toxic City Mall expansion, then go to their website and download the map editor to make your own games… Super fun!
Great game! It’s a lot of fun to play and different every time. Arrived quickly and in excellent condition.
This game is a lot of fun. Great coop game where you search for resources while the zombie hoard continues to grow and come after you. Requires some strategy. My only gripe is that it takes a while to set up and to clean up after. But overall one of the more popular choices for my gaming group. The minis are of great quality too.
Excellent game. It’s easy to play after you set it up. Seeing it up takes a little while but worth it. The replay value is great. I’ve had the game for about two months and have played it five or six times and is still just as fun as the first time.
You would be hard pressed to have as much fun surviving the zombie apocalypse as you will with Zombicide! My friends and I are loving this game. In one game we were just one turn of movement away from winning the game with all the objectives when we got completely wiped out by zombies. As frustrated as we were we couldn’t help but laugh! If you’re a gamer and you like zombies this is a must have for your collection!

I really enjoyed season 2 but my only problem was, the figures had a little extra molding around sides compared to the figures from season 1.

all the pieces are top notch its hard to find a game with this many miniatures in it for that price . the thing i like about this game is its both an add on and a stand alone game so you can mix and match more or less. overall great game and good amount of materials for the price. the only thing i wish was different is that the cards were bigger but to be honest its not a problem if anything it just saves space.

Oh Zombicide, I can’t say enough about this game or the core game.
This adds the berserker zombies which are immune to ranged attacks, which adds a whole new element to the standard gun heavy games. Additionally a lot of the tiles feature close quarters areas, hallways with lots of cells, etc. All in all, it’s fun by itself and fun when combined with the Season 1 and the Toxic Mall expansions.

This was our second expansion we purchased. We got the Mall one before this one. Go ahead and get all of them. They build on themselves exacerbating the fun!
This is a very good game, great fun and can be replayed without going stale.

Together, they ensure we won’t run out of missions, survivors, weapons or zombies.
What am I buying?
The six survivors have the latest skills, several of which are very useful.
The new berserker zombie, which can only be killed in a melee, creates challenging situations that don’t have easy answers.
New equipment includes a concrete saw, nightsticks, and riot shields among others.
The nine double-sided game tiles, 18 different environments, introduce the catastrophic prison environment. Additionally, they have a surprising number of open environments that combine to build complete prisons.
Prison introduces security considerations not found in cities and malls. Numerous doors open when a remote switch is thrown releasing zombies into open halls. Specialize security gates, observation towers and barbwire create new considerations and tactics by providing some real challenges.
The ten missions range from a tutorial to complex multiple objective missions.
Unlike the other two Zombicide games, Prison Outbreak has a number of clear and hold missions where you try to build a safe place for survivors.
Joining the police car and pimpmobile are a taxi, hippiemobile and a muscle car, each with new rules.
Overall, this is a real addition to and an extension of the Zombicide system.
Combined with Season 1 and Toxic City Mall, you have a gigantic game.
Alone, you have an interesting and fun game.
As the title states this is a great coop game. It has mechanics similar to Pandemic, but offers a little more freedom, a selection of different missions to provide a different experience each time. This game plays well with older kids (12+) and adults without needing much strategy coaching when zombies start flooding the board. It has been an extremely easy game to learn and teach. Its great how season 1 and two are both standalone, but can easily be joined allowing for your own custom games. In terms of components they are of better quality, with quite detailed mini’s considering the hard plastic they are made from. I strongly suggest adding this one to your game night.

Overall, I’m very happy with the box, but you have to know that this is less family/casual friendly than the original and each scenario takes longer. Zombicide missions averaged about 60-90 minutes for me. Prison Outbreak scenarios all take about 180 minutes. If you want more complexity and length, this expansion is for you. If not, perhaps buy the mall expansion first.
Try the games, their good. Especially prison outbreak! Berserkers suck, but they add a special element to the game. I would almost say play this before the main game. I use the berserkers and items in the normal game too.
There are many great new things but it still is as good as the original. The scenarios will take awhile, but that just makes it more fun.
If you thought some of the scenarios from the core set were tough, prepare to take a beating. Multiple step scenarios definitely ratchet up the game play and tension. Minis are of the usual very high quality and can be painted easily. This is a great set to mix with the core set.
You can buy the Toxic City Mall expansion when you get bored (which won’t be for ages!) and there’s also plenty of mini packs like ‘Zombie Dogs’ or ‘Companion Dogs’ that can be bought and added to the base game. I’d recommend this over the first Zombicide game because it features a special type of Beserk zombies that can only be killed using melee weapons. As you can imagine this adds a whole different dynamic to the game where you have to ensure your survivors are packing one of each weapon type to survive.
I appreciate that it costs quite a lot but you really do get a lot of enjoyment out of it, and even if you play through the same scenario a few times, you’ll find that every time is completely different.
Pick it up today and you won’t regret it :D!
This is a great game that I am pleased to say Amazon had for a great price. If you like Zombie games, then you will love this one.
This game is just what the title says. Simply Amazing… The game itself is a bit lenghtly at times but it is worth the money… It has several games in one and surprisingly i have a few friends who dont like intricate bored games… They themselves stayed involved and active stating that they really enjoyed the game… I mean how can one go wrong with the Zombie Apoc.
I really enjoy this game but it can go a bit long (1-3 hours).
The game is fun and has some odd mechanics so you may need some house rules like I do. (ie. You can drive into a friends square without hitting them if no zombies are in the square. Rule is… if you drive in a square you may hit your friends.)
Otherwise the mini’s are amazing the game is fun and I really enjoy it.
I have the Toxic City Mall expansion and the original game and we often play all three sets together. This is my favorite board game. You can play missions many times and always have a different experience. It’s fantastic. We have even created and played our own custom characters.
First problem: these bastards are immune to ranged combat!!!! This simple detail changes the whole game mechanics!!! The tension level increase a lot!!!!!!!
More zombies, More ways of killing them.This expansions is a bit harder than the original board game since in addition to regular (?) zombies you now have berserkers who can only be killed in hard to hand combat. So forget about the dual sawed off shotguns, you will need something a bit more up close and personal. Anyone have a spare concrete saw handy?
Great game. Once painted the minis well, will be a wonderfull game. The machanics are easy and the competition to survive is great. Cooperation is essential. Better than the first chapter.
WE are big fans of Zombicide in our family. We are very excited to add this to our game collection.
The game is very expensive but pieces are quality (for plastic) and has great game mechanics. Zombie fans will love.
Happy with the delivery timescales and the game arrived well packed. We are yet to play this version but my sons (7 and 9) and husband really enjoy the other versions so I am sure it will be a big hit.
ules are not explained clearly,so you end up probably playing it the wrong way or make up your own rules as you play.
Still fun.
This version is everything we wanted in the first one and more. I am really amazed with how much the developers listened to community and made excellent design choices with this version. The only bummer is there isn’t much of a reason to go back and play the original since this version is already a stand alone box set and not an expansion.
I wouldn’t trash the old box since the game is flexible enough to use both versions to make your own maps and game modes.
