Very smart & unobtrusive Camera, easy to set up, though I did find the fixing screws to be flimsy & therefore used my own, which was no big deal. The app is simple to download & use. Picture quality is exceptional, both day & night, was particularly impressed with the night colour, you can choose between b&w & colour for night vision. The features are all well explained within the app & allow you to finely tune the Camera’s features to your own needs. In my case, I need to recharge the Camera 2 – 3 times a week, this would decrease/increase on how many notification videos are requested. Fortunately, I have an external AC socket & can recharge without removing the Camera from the bracket, although this is a simple proceedure too. Ground coverage is very good & angle can be altered easily with the ball & socket fixture design, also comes with a strong magnetic bracket, so the choice is yours. I do not need additional video storage, which does cost (there is a free 3 month Cloud storage offer available) you can set the Camera to record up to 3mins each time motion is detected & this is saved to your phone/pc, can be deleted as & when. Overall, impressed with purchase & have found an entertaining sideline of nightime wildlife activity in my garden, as a result! No need to pay 00’s of pounds for security Cameras, this does the job & gives peace of mind.

I’ve had quite a few different brands but Everything about this unit is fantastic.
The only flaw is the occasional notification I receive when the camera is supposed to be in sleep mode!
If they could sort out this issue with an update then I would say it’s possibly the best camera to hit the market to date value for money.
The camera is good although the detection is sometimes slow and doesn’t pick-up until the subject is leaving the area. I don’t like the fact you have to pay for the little extras as it happens I don’t need them but I’m sure other people will. As a camera it’s excellent the picture quality is fantastic even at night. The battery lasts about 4 weeks you may get longer/shorter if there’s less/ more traffic to activate it. On the whole a decent camera.
Really pleased with this camera. Was recommended the make by a friend and with so many others to choose from went with the recommendation. Really happy – exactly what we needed without breaking the bank. Easy to install and set up and the app is straight forward to use. Will definitely purchase another for other areas if required.

I bought 3 of these about a month ago now. The battery life of all the cameras seems like it’s going to be good. I have 1 camera on quite a busy section of path and that one is Draining more but that’s to be expected and i still estimate i will get 2 months from the battery. They look good, feel good i love the Magnetic mount and think that looks sleek (make sure cameras are out of reach though). Had them set up in no time (remember to disable your 5ghz network first). Daytime image quality is impressive, IR night is very good, Spotlight at night is OK, not amazing but still useful. I’m finding the Notifications arriving usually in good time (had a few delayed but i’m not convinced that’s not my phone as my Lloyds notifications are sometimes late too). Very happy for the price paid for them. To use all the features you do need to pay for the Cloud upgrade but the ‘Activity Zone’ is very useful (so it still records if people walk past but it will only notify you if they are within the area you Mark out). I think the entry level Cloud is 2.99 per month which i feel is fair.
I wanted to buy the Very well known brand of this style of camera and i was wary buying an alternative cheaper option, but i’m happy i did buy these!!

Really useful camera, battery lasts an age even though it gets set off around 50 times a day, the magnet support is brilliant for way placement and set up and makes it a dream for chaging, just snatch it off the wall and plug it in. I have only used them inside so cannot comment on external durability but would highly recomend for internal use.
I had no experience setting up a camera previously but found this very easy to set up and connect to wifi. Camera received a strong wifi signal even though some distance from the router. The camera works well for my purpose but there is some delay between the camera being triggered and the alert being sent to my phone so it wouldn’t be of much use to speak to delivery drivers.
This camera is fantastic. It has already been well worth it catching a no gooder. Its easy to set up and the app is very easy to use.motion detection is stunning and the battery has only used a tiny fragment if its capacity. great buy
These are great for picture quality and coverage and are easy to set up.Sadly I’m thinking of turning mine off.The camera picks up on everything from a cat walking by to a car passing and are very sensitive.The result being I am constantly getting alerts to my mobile which is driving me insane.The only way to stop this happening is to sign up for a package to enable restrictions on the camera stop these alerts from happening all the time.
High quality picture. Picks up the smallest motion. Just as clear at night, with the white light mode. Internet alerts are prompt. I think we have had it up for about 2 weeks and it shows 70% battery left, at the moment. This unit is reachable, for me to charge the battery when required. The 2nd camera I bought came with a solar panel to keep it charged. The daylight picture is comparable to this one, however on the 2nd camera, the picture is back to black and white. If they could make a version of this camera, with a solar panel to keep it charged, you wouldn’t buy another make.

The CPVAN BC03 camera is an excellent, value for money, piece of kit. The associated VicoHome App is fairly easy to use and to set up the camera.
The white flashlight is quite powerful and a bonus for nighttime colour pictures.
It’s early days but the only drawback so far is the delay in the video recording after motion detection meaning that the person is not pictured immediately.

Great little camera for price, has all the things u need, hd camera and video, night vision, night light, flash alarm, warning alarm and voice, able to see on phone on either wifi or on my mobile data in realtime.
Downside for some is the usb charging, but the battery is long lasting when charged especially if you sleep mode the unit when home.
When downloading the app you have choice to pay for extra features, like person/pet recognition and one point focus etc but i find the features i already have are enough.
Finally got round to fitting Camera, picture quality great, works really well, was disappointed to find that most of feature advertised before I bought it can only be used with a purchased subscription, the top one costing 89.00 per year I believe, but the Camera is good

Really good camera, quality is great day and night but even on low motion detection, it stills picks up over 150 motions a day (wouldn’t say we live on a particularly busy road) and the battery is draining a lot having to charge every 2 weeks which has been the biggest pain to keep climbing up on the ladder and doing which is a shame! Otherwise overall, a really good camera

Didn’t realise had to pay for all the functions this offers so may have bought a diff product. Good pic quality and good night vision, bit of a delay between motion and phone alert but for price it does the job.
it was easy to install, night vision is good. Magnet hold is quite strong. I like the security alert function with the light.
Only put these up last night, for the price these are excellent. Many great features like picking up vehicles, pets and people. Very easy to set up and took no more than a few minutes. Magnet is very strong, I have put one up via magnet and the other up with the adjustable arm.
Absolutely excellent product. Camera gives a superb wide angle view of my property and the picture is crystal clear. Really easy to install and set up and the app is very user friendly. Notifications through app are pretty much instant when movement is detected. Night vision is also really clear.

This is the 2nd CPVAN product which I have purchased and in both instances I have been really pleased with both the performance and simplicity of installation.
Bide your time when it comes to making your purchase, the CPVAN Spotlight Cam Wired price constantly fluctuates with AI function and alarm siren so loud for your neighbor hearing clearly.
I am looking to purchase 2 more of these, just have to wait the prime day for the price to drop again, which is a little frustrating.
Great device images are great quality and do clear. The alarm is loud enough to scare any intruder. Like that it’s magnetic and be easily taken down to recharge battery. Glad I bought this for my home
The quality of the image and sound on this camera is very good in both day time and night with the night vision enabled. If the camera is placed in a position which needs to be secured, an alarm can be set off manually or automatically when movement is detected. Would definitely recommend for the price!

The Cpvan security camera ticks nearly all of my boxes. The app is great and it was very easy to set up and install. The picture quality is fantastic in all the conditions I have tested so far and accessing recordings is easy.
I especially like that I can activate the alarm and talk to anyone nearby to the camera through my phone.
The only things I’d change are the ability to set the times that I want activity notifications to come through as it seems to be everything all the time or nothing.
The upgrade to be able to set activity zones seems reasonably priced and I’m considering buying it but will give it a good week or so and see how the basic functions are over that time
It is good but not perfect. If you don’t have it in empty garden it definitely won’t last even a month. For me it is a week but I’m ok with that coz it facing the street. There are better cameras but you will pay +20 or +40 or more.
I’ve bought a few security cameras and this is by far the easiest to set up. No cables, no annoying WiFi connection. Really, really easy.
The picture quality is superb and the night vision is exceptionally clear. Unlike the other cameras, you can select what the motion detection alerts you about. This only alerts me if a person is detected and it ignores animals, cars etc.

Impressed with the image quality and the sound. You can speak to who you see and they can respond. You can add an alarm if necessary as well as a shining white light It works with data as well when you are away from home
I gave this a try because there was a deal, it had good reviews, and I liked that I could attach a solar panel and not worry about batteries, recharging, or a hard line ofv power. I attached it to a tree in my hard that has a good view of the house. It’s not overly sensitive which is good because it means you don’t get alerted for every falling leaf. Audio feature is cool. I love that you can adjust motion detection sensitivity. The app is pretty user friendly and set up was a breeze. Will likely get a second one for the other side of my house.
This camera is very easy to set up and give a good clear picture in day and night. I ended up buying 3 of the CPVAN wireless cameras, a wired camera and also a wireless doorbell because they performed so well. The sensitivity is perfect on these wireless cameras. I have to charge them probably once a month, but my doorway is not very busy with passers. I get packages less than 2 times a week and that’s about it. The battery life depends on how often you have it set to alert and how many alerts it gets. IF you have a busy doorway then it will fire often and you’d have to charge more often. Overall, a great buy.
I received it last week and it was really well packaged. I wanted to install it immediately as I was going away on holiday. Thought I might have been pushing it with needing to pack etc but it was so easy. The instructions were very clear and pairing was simple. I had it up and running very quickly.
I decided to install it at the front door with a view from the front door to the side gate. I decided to use the bracket with the screw clamp (as opposed to the magnetic bracket) because it was going to be outside and subject to the wind. Anyway, it was very easy to install with just three screws required (all supplied).
I then spent a little time setting the angle which was (once again) very easy to do. I tested it immediately and found it to be working perfectly. The app is very simple although I think there is much more that I can do with it when I have time to look at it.
Having immediately gone on holiday it has given me great piece of mind and captured any movement outside the house such as the postman in the photo attached. As you can see the day time picture is very clear indeed. I already have a passive IR security light outside the house which lights up the whole area and enables the camera to get a very clear picture at night.
I have also found it really useful to be able to look back at the 10s clips which get stored in the library. I will be subscribing to the VicoHome cloud to enable me to continue to get these.
So, in summary, I am very pleased with my purchase and would strongly recommend it – great quality and great value for money.
The CPVAN camera is miles away from the 1st model I had. Fluent 1080p full HD video, advanced PIR (passive infrared) motion detection, clear as day night vision without a dozen red LED lights switching on and multiple multi-angle detection zones. It has an intercom and alarm siren which can be switched off. It has two ways of recording – cloud and micro SD card. Useful when you want to keep evidence while your internet is down.
These are improvements. But there’s more. This camera is wire free. It has a battery with higher capacity than my mobile. It allows it to stay active for up to 6 months on a single charge which takes lol around 6 hours. This really is impressive.
Another thing is the mounting system. It has a mounting bracket with a strong magnetic semi-circle which matches a part in the main module. Effectively you can maneuver the camera in all directions and angles.
Finally – it’s waterproof up to IP65. It’s meant to withstand rain and snow, with temperatures between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius. This makes it an outdoor camera.
So why 4 stars and not 5? Well, there are not so good sides too, quite a few in fact.
Let’s start with motion detection. The developers went a step further and decided the camera will aim to recognize between a human, pet and a vehicle. Makes sense as all three may trigger the alarm but we probably only want one of them to do that really. You can enable each of them separately to be detected or not. But it doesn’t work very well. It detected a pet in my very realistic squirrel pillow (it’s in the attached video which actually comes from the camera). I triggered the movement of course but my whole body wasn’t visible. It’s of course an algorithm, which can be improved, and I’m sure CPVAN will be looking to do that. But there’s a bigger problem. If someone moves quickly enough – the camera will trigger an alarm and register a video – of an empty space. Because the person already left the scope. Most cameras I know record constantly but only produce a video when met specific criteria. This allows the camera to ‘go back’ and produce a video of even really fast moving objects (like flies in infrared). I suspect this camera doesn’t constantly record to save the battery. It’s a tough one to improve…I guess you can achieve it by positioning the camera so the object has to move towards it, rather than be passing by. But that reduces your flexibility of putting the camera where you want it to be.
Another issue is that you get a free cloud subscription for a month and after that you only get the 7 day rolling recording (good that’s left). But the pet/human/vehicle detection is gone, and so are the detection zones. That’s a bit poor.
Being an outdoor camera makes you think you could perhaps get your car monitored from your window on 2nd floor. As long as it’s no more than 25 feet away, it’s ok. If it happens to be further than that, it won’t detect anything.
There is a strong ray of light you can either enable manually, set for night mode or set to switch on while the alarm is triggered. It’s a good idea on it’s own, but saying that you get colour night vision, where in fact it’s only colour with the light on, is a bit of an overstatement.
The camera itself is pretty heavy, definitely the heaviest of all I’ve had. There is an option of using a provided ‘sticky disc’ to glue the stand to the wall. I wouldn’t risk it though and you are warned in the manual that if it falls you should install it the standard way – using bolts. I don’t think the camera would survive the fall undamaged…So I’d rather not try.
The positioning is in fact very specific. You should aim at 7ft off the ground and 10-15″ angle of the camera. What if I can’t install it this way? There is also a photo showing the camera just sitting on a desk. Makes you think you can have it set up this way. I know you can set up other cameras like that without any issues. Why not this one?
One more thing. The camera is super easy to install and has no wiring. That’s cool. But that also makes it super easy to remove/steal. And that’s…less cool.
Most of these issues can be resolved by changing or improving the software. My biggest one is incomplete videos due to the camera not recording ‘back’. I know it’s not because it’s not capable of doing it, but I still think it’s quite important. I contacted CPVAN with my concerns and they took it seriously and are currently working on improvements. Hence the 4 stars and not less. Once the issues are corrected, the 60 you have to pay will be an attractive price for such a versatile product.

I must say having the camera for a number of days, the product is clearly a quality product.
The body of the camera is made really well and feels like it will last.
Setting up the the camera was very straight forward and I was ready to go within 20 minutes, including fitting to the wall.
The camera has a small white light, which you can set to manual or automatic.
You can activate a loud alarm.
The quality of the the images are really good, the night images are very impressive.
The value for money is excellent.
Perfect product to go with my CP7 home security Alarm System. Previously I bought Alarm system this time I got security camera. Nice picture quality at any time weather it is a day or night. I personally would recommend to get secure with CPVAN product no hidden charge to use once you bought.

I’ve been looking for a long while for a wireless Outdoor Security Camera when I stumbled on this CPVAN one. Very pleased and happy with my purchased! The day time camera is crisp and clear and so is the night vision as well. The sound is outstanding. You can hear very clearly. It also comes with a SD extension slot where you can store more video clips. The design is 100% waterproof and un-obstrusive. It comes with a mounting kit that will fit in any entrance doorway or above the garage. Oh, the iPhone app is fantastic. In all, very happy with my purchased and with what it does.
Picture quality is amazing the complete package is super satisfying to own. Very impressed, i was not sure if it really was what was advertised but i am a happy camper.
Those red lights are the infra red, which seems to capture well the whole room. I did try to show the infra red outside, but this camera works really well under low lighting. My car is under a street light and it capture the surrounding quite well.
I really like the magnet part because you can change the angle to suits you. However, you need to bear in mind that this item can be easily taken away so make sure that it is located high out of reach.
I bought it in April and I’ve had it now for a month and it works quite often as it is aimed towards the street. The battery has only got half way through so far.
You can record on 10, 15 and 20 secs.
So far it was on 10 but I feel that 15 or 20 would probably be better. Also, as it takes a few seconds to start recording I would put it an angle ensuring that it won’t miss the person.
Also, make sure the camera has a good wifi reception as otherwise the videos won’t be as smooth.
Lastly, it is rain proof! Over April May there were many rainy days and upon checking the camera I have not noticed a single drop of water.

This Toucan wireless outdoor camera is a really well designed, battery powered and capable camera that provides a high quality video feed.
It looks very modern by design and is finished in a matt white body and is quite inconspicuous at 8 x 8 x 4cm is size. Installation could not be simpler as once you have attached the base plate to the wall either magnetically as it can or preferably using the screws through the base plate and out of reach the camera itself simply mounts magnetically on the base and can be moved easily to the angle you monitor.
The camera uses a FHD sensor with a high-definition lens that captures video in 1080P 1920 x 1080p Full HD for clear and crisp recordings night or day. Watch remotely in real-time using the mobile app, even in night vision mode and it has a motion detection feature that pushes a notification to the camera app.
The app is called Toucan Smart Home and is free and camera set up is simple, just by opening an account, connecting to your wifi, select add camera in the app menu, then press the start button on the camera and pair the app and the camera. After that its just a a matter of selecting the features you wish to activate and use on the camera in the app. One feature I like is the ability to turn off the red activity like so it is less likely to be noticed by a would be intruder.
It uses a 4400mAh battery that lasts 1 — 3 months when fully charged which although short compared to other similar cameras at least its ease to remove for charging due to the magnetic mount.
Best of all as its wireless, battery powered and is very easy to set up it can be used indoors or outdoors almost anywhere it can connect to WiFi and you can monitor the video feed remotely using a smart device connected to the camera app.
There is also 2 way audio so you can speak to a visitor or warn off an intruder.
I’m a huge fan of battery security cameras as they are they are a lot more versatile on where you can instal them so I have a few already as I have quite a large house and grounds and like to keep my family safe.
Top quality camera, 2 way audio is really good and without much lagg. Battery life seems spot on, the pir is really reliable and easy to install. Will be getting more for my home as really good, solid product. I would get again!
Packaging is excellent and instructions are very clear. After sales customer service is first class having already owned other CPVAN products.
What sets this apart from the rest is you get a fixed wall mount and additionally a secondary very strong magnetic wall mount with all the required fixtures and fittings for ease of removing and charging. I chose to use the magnetic one for ease of use.
To set up, insert a micro SD card (up to 128GB) and download the VicoHome app and scan the barcode. Set up is a by far the easiest I have encountered with any home security. Additionally you can purchase a cloud service, but I chose not to.
The image quality is a excellent both day and night. The motion sensor is very good and has different settings. You also have an option to speak with the microphone function.
At present I am unable to comment on the battery capacity but will hopefully update after a few months use.
My one slight concern is that this camera uses a different App than the door contacts (SmartLife) , but that does not concern me as the VicoHome App is excellent.
For the price, you will struggle to find a better wireless indoor or outdoor CCTV camera.

Upon receiving the camera I was very pleased it seems to be very well built with easy to access SD and charging ports, charging time is about 6 hrs or until a green light shows, it has a very wide angle of view and the picture quality is very good you can select between HD/SD , the night vision is also pretty impressive.
Dislikes
You have to purchase cloud time to release some of the cameras features also the app is a bit slow but that might be at my end .
All in all a great camera for the price I would by another one without hesitation.
This camera is quality. Been looking for a while and can’t believe how clear images are on my phone. And as soon as someone comes to the door I get a notification and it starts to record footage And the price was very fair compared to others I looked at. Very pleased with purchase and would definitely recommend A*
Its main use for me is not as a security camera but for watching wildlife in the garden, so the fact that it is completely wireless makes it ideal to move it around from site to site when I want to keep an eye on a particular place.
It is extremely quick and easy to set up (done in under five minutes) and comes with everything required to get started.
The hemispherical magnetic mount is a great idea and very secure. It makes changing the camera angle simple (there is a standard threaded mount included in the package as well). I have simply screwed the base for the magnetic mount to a stake that I can move wherever required.
Picture quality is excellent both day and night (see images) and the camera works well in infrared mode.
The wifi connection range is good, but slightly less than some of my other cameras with external antennas.
I have tried the motion detection and it records every time someone moves in front of the camera. Recordings start about a second after the trigger and notifications are sent to the phone quickly with hardly any lag.
My only criticism is the SD card recording facility. Recordings are made to the SD card (not included), but it is sometimes difficult and often impossible to view them in the app (VicoHome). This seems to be more of a problem with the app than the camera itself and hopefully it will be sorted out in future updates. This does not affect cloud recordings.
There is a subscription service available for advanced features like AI filtering of unwanted triggers, but the free seven day rolling cloud storage is more than adequate for my needs.
This camera does not have ONVIF or RTSP available to add to an existing camera network, but these protocols require a constant video stream and the power requirements of this would be impractical in a battery powered camera.
As it is, after four days of use the battery level is at 92%. I don’t know if the manufacture’s claims of several months of battery life are true, but I haven’t owned it long enough to give details. I’ll try to update this review when I know better.
All in all this is a great camera if you’re looking for something easy to set up and particularly if you want to move it around to locations where power is not available.
Brilliant camera, great picture, with easy to use app, with lots of features
Quite a few wireless cameras adverts state battery life of 6 months, but in the real world this means very little as it is linked to how many times the camera is triggering. It is nice to see in this case a quote of battery life linked to the camera triggering on average 30 times daily.
I have purchased quite a few wireless cameras over the years usually from well known expensive brands. I have got to mention for the price and ease of setup I was pleasantly surprised. I went on to test the siren,two-way talk, and spotlight all very easy to use and worked well. The camera sent alerts to my mobile each time it was triggered by me going into the garden. The App then stores a video clip each time, also has the option to fit a SD card to the camera which I have not done yet. I have installed in the garden to,protect my shed overnight.I will probably get the solar panel later so I can forget about recharging.
The camera is rated at IP65 which basically means it is rated as dust tight and protect from water from a nozzle and very suitable for outdoor use.
Having already purchased a CPVAN security system I had no problem at all selecting this brand when I was looking for an outdoor security camera as my Security system had functioned flawlessly for almost 12 months.
Upon opening the package the camera was larger than I expected, but this created no issues of me and what I intended to use the camera for. The Camera is of a solid construction as are all the supplied components, the battery was fully charged and the set up took less than 5 minutes. I downloaded the App, signed up and then married the camera to my account, the camera then had a firmware update and I formatted the 128 GB MSD card that I had inserted into it. This is the first Camera that I have had no issues with regarding formatting a MSD card. Other cameras I have either take multiple attempts or refuse to format at all.
My cat very rarely come’s home so I wanted a camera set up so it would alert me to when the cat is home, using the speaker I could then talk to the cat if I am not home or go out to the back garden to see him if I am home. I set the sensitivity the high and positioned the camera looking over the area the cat usually comes to when he come home.
The picture is very good quality (better than my expectations) but most impressive was the lag from live pictures (or lack of it) My other Wireless camera have at least 1 to 4 second lag using the 2.4 Ghz wireless connection, I do not know how this camera manages it, but there is next to no lag, maybe 0.5 of a second (at most).
So picture scores top marks for me, also the App settings are great for what I require, I can switch off the Alarm, the spotlight, use both, or either one. I set the recording period to 20 seconds and set my phone to send me notifications when the Camera is triggered.
I am extremely happy with my purchase as this camera does a great job for what I want it to do, and I am sure it could handle multiple other tasks should I ever require it to do so.
Thanks to this camera I can now look forward to seeing my wondering feline friend Oscar more often and also see other wildlife in my back garden.
Really pleased with this camera very easy to set up. Wireless so very easy to install. Sends notification to mobile pretty quickly and records activity. Very happy with this camera and would recommend it.
I always read lots of other peoples reviews and I always like other people’s images…. So I thought I’d do lots of pics and post a decent review for once! Here goes!
Item was packaged really well, comes with a range of mounting options, a magnetic one for glass and hard surfaces and a bracket for hard mounting. The magnetic one is suprisingly very very stong but for my use I went for the hard mount, which is pretty dynamic.. It worked great as you can see in the pics.
I popped the camera on charge and once it was charged (couple of hours) I was very quickly set up with the app and the camera was linked to the WiFi and online and viewing from my mobile very quickly!
I then installed it to location on the front porch and pointed it where I wanted it to cover. (over the cars) easy to put up and get down.
The camera really surprised me in just how crystal clear the video was, amazing in both day and night mode, with the optional night light!! I really do love it. Check out the pictures!
Loads of settings to use, e.g sensitivity, warning light, night view mode settings etc, but if you are happy and don’t want to mess about then it can be used straight from the box.. Win.
The VicoHome app is really easy to navigate and not clunky. (much better and more reliable than my wired system app)
For any footage captured you can view all your history and notifications on the app too and save for longer and have more of a clever AI approach if you subscribe, but not needed in my opinion as it can also hold an SD card if you want a hard copy.
As with all battery devices the concern is… Will the battery last? Well YES IT WILL. Its been installed now for over 3 weeks and the battery is still on 75%! And that’s with lots of triggers as I’ve been at home everyday recently. I was expecting to have recharged by now but nope, it’s even well outlasted my ‘branded’ doorbell!!
I have recently had a baby girl and this camera really gives me piece of mind that it will stand the test of use and reliability and give extra security and piece of mind.
Overall very happy and would recommend this over some of the more expensive sort of better known brands. Give it a go.

Fantastic little camera for my shed door area. Got this as needed a wireless option and very pleased so far. The app is great (better than others I have for my indoor cameras – far better developed and user friendly) and the definition is superb. I like the night flashing light motion detection option to warn off trespassers and also the voice option to speak via the camera if needed.
There is a magnetic ball option for mounting on which is neat, however I have used the kind of ‘ball and arm’ option.
Have popped in a cheap SD card.
Highly recommend and definitely seems higher quality unit, app etc compared to the others I have bought.
Yes yes yes, CPVan has done it once again. Another well designed product which was easy to install and assemble. It took me 5 minutes to setup after it was fully charge. It emits a beeping sound as soon as you turn it on, and you use the app called VicoHome.
If I had one recommendation, is that this product could perhaps work with Smart Life App? Current Smartlife integrates with all other CPVan products. I current have CP Van WiFi Alarm, CPVan Smoke alarm, TPLink plugs, and non-branded motorised blinds all setup on my Smart Life App.
The battery life says it can stay on for 2 to 3 months (if stuck to approx 30 motion detections); this is about right as I’ve had it on for 5 days and it’s still on 100%!
The night vision is superb, I can see all the cats at nights on my back yard.
The motion detection has 3 levels (High/Medium/Low) – so you can adjust to what suits you.
The picture quality is stunning!
This a great little camera. The picture quality is awesome so clear day of night. The fixing options, strong magnet or fixed bracket allow for very quick installation. Being battery powered means no tricky wires to install or power source to be found.
This is my first security camera, and it seems to be very good quality for the money, its small lightweight and setting up the app and pairing the camera was very straight forward, i would definitely recomend this camera as a first time purchase
As with all CPVAN items I have purchased the packaging is good and instructions are clear. I have a wireless doorbell system and it has been going strong for more than a year now. After sales customer service has also been great when I had a minor issue.
As you can see from the photo you get all that you need to mount, a bracket as well as a magnetic base with all the fixtures. Note that in the mounted photo I used my own bracket which is black, you get a matching white one. The camera is a bit heavier than I expected but the mounts are good quality and support it well. You will need to buy a SD card but that is the only thing you don’t get in the box. The app you have to use is VicoHome and I found this one of the best camera apps I have used so far: the issues I had with other cameras — pairing, SD card formatting — did not happen at all. Set up is a breeze. You can purchase a cloud hosting solution with VicoHome that also gives you the option of selecting ‘activity zones’ where you want the camera to detect motion and take clips.
The image quality is a very clear and sharp both in daytime and night. You have the choice of using the ‘white light’ LED light but I think this would consume a lot of battery so I have kept it on the night vision setting for night time. The motion sensing works well, and the siren is quite loud (I use it only during certain times). You also have an option to speak with the microphone function.
Most importantly for me, the Wi-Fi range is the best I have seen with a battery CCTV camera — I was able to connect it in locations several metres from my router, through 2 or 3 walls. I can’t comment on the battery capacity so far but it seems to be going strong. You can also connect it to a solar panel which works very well with my other cameras as a drip charger. It is claimed to be IP65 waterproof but I will buy a skin if it is available (black would be good) as this gives added water and dust protection.
All in all, at this price I highly recommend this if you are looking for an indoor or outdoor wireless CCTV and PIR solutio
After receiving the camera It was up and running in 5 minutes, definitely the easiest camera I’ve ever set up. It comes with a magnetic mount along with a screw fix for easy mounting. The picture quality for 1080 is superb. I have 4 5mp cameras around my property and this picture quality is as good. Motion detection works as it should. All in all a really good buy. Definitely getting more!!
The App is user friendly and has many great features, such as live feed, movement detection, and even cloud storage.
I’m using the camera to keep an eye on my motorcycle.
Honestly of all the CPVAN products I’ve used so far, this one is a great step-up, never had an issue before and if there is one the customer service is amazing !

Affordable, and value for money
UPDATE. The review below was my initial one. However, I got in touch with the manufacturer and, unlike so many others, they got back in touch promptly, took details and informed me it would be passed to the relevant department. It took nearly two weeks but they got back in touch and told me it needed a firmware update. I duly did that and now am happy to report I get push notifications on my iPad if the camera senses someone is out there. One star is taken off as the app is obviously meant for a phone but it still won’t send notifications to my android

First off there is nothing wrong with some of the cameras functions. The video looks good, and audio sounds fine. Mounting it is easy enough (as long as you’re not drilling into solid wall) with the provided wall mounts. I would have preferred something a bit more secure than the magnetic mount though the magnet is very strong. It might prove tempting to pinch, so make sure to install it high up. The other mounts (a screw-in with an up-down ball joint, and a window adhesive) are included.
My biggest problem is I do not receive any notifications from this camera. I have tried just about everything. From using android phones, to iOS, phones to iPads, checking every setting on the camera and phone, re-setting a new login on the app. Absolutely nothing works.
I have been in contact with the CPvan company, and I’m still awaiting a solution. Sadly all I have received from them is my query being passed around to various departments.
Without notifications it’s not of much use. Yes it can be used to view live video on the app, but it’s not much use if you want to be notified when someone’s at the door. I don’t really want to spend my time staring at the live feed in case something happens. My guess is that the motion sensor is faulty, but I can’t be definite.
I will say that otherwise the camera has been fine. Works good at night. Two way audio is fine and the HD feed looks good, though can be choppy depending on connection. It seems sturdy, is compact but, unfortunately, is not fit for purpose.
Excellent size & weight allowing external mounting without any wires and complications, and this was perfect.
There is no facility for controlling the camera movement (pan and tilt) from the phone, so it must be manually fixed at the desired viewing angle when it is mounted. This is done after installation by moving the camera on its ball and socket mount then locking into position.
The camera is compact, with a simple and unobtrusive design. The great attraction is its wire free facility whereby it has an internal 6000 mAh battery which, on a full charge, will provide 5 to 6 months use. This is useful when a power cable is either not desirable or not possible due its location.
I love the sound it makes so you get an alert once activated by external movement, you can also mute this option. It records directly to your phone memory if you don’t want to buy an SD card.
I was deeply impressed by the clarity and detail of daylight and infrared night vision video sources. It also has 2-way audio so you can actually speak to someone near the camera remotely through the app.
In use you can you can receive real-time motion alerts pushed to mobile phone or send snapshots to email. There is a built-in microphone, which allows you to communicate with your visitor or intruder and even has a siren that can be set to trigger on motion detection.
Software is very comprehensive and covers a multitude of functions, can also be used to check visitors, similar to a video doorbell with the activation sound acting as a doorbell.
Overall a very good quality IP camera solution, with a simple set up and one of the best at this price point.

The App (ios and android) is really easy to use and lets you set it up to get alerts to your phone when movement is detected. It also sends the alert to your Apple Watch if you have one. There is lots of features you can use, such as an alarm mode which makes a loud noise when movement is detected.
You can look at all your video clips on your phone and download the footage. It takes seconds. You can use SD or HD mode. The photo is on SD which is still very good but you can use the HD for a crisper video.
The camera came with 30 days free cloud storage which you then have to pay for it or you can use the micro SD card slot to keep all your recordings safe. You will have to buy the SD card separately, its a Micro SD and it can take up to a 128GB.
You can add multiple cameras to the same App and name them all. Its a neat camera packed with features. I have other CP Van gadgets and like the build quality.
Pros:
Strong battery, not charged it for a few days now. Into day four and still looking strong according to indicator
Strong magnet, even if it comes with fixtures for outdoors and indoors. I have not had to use them as it sticks to metallic surfaces and sits well on counter tops.
Multi use. We can change location very easily. nothing to do other than just drag and drop.
Decent camera quality even with night vision.
The flashing light with the alarm is a bonus. Hope I never have to use it.
Ability to add camera to software is a plus
Cons:
The software is not the easiest to use and you need to pay for additional features.
The camera quality for the price could be better
The alarm is not loud enough even at max.
Sometimes the motion sensor misses the motion it tries to capture.
Seems not to have sound detection but has mic and speaker, maybe not found the option yet.
