Ok, some assembly required. That said, what really made this a worthy purchase, for me, was that they include a long, magnetic-tip P2 driver and if you’re above a grade 1 education, you’ll be able to follow the install instructions.
Now, I have all my own tools for any project that I care to take on, and I’ve been building my own gaming rigs since the mid 90’s (my first had a 28.8 modem), but the fact that I didn’t have to get up and go get a screwdriver just really kinda made my day. And honestly, that’s why I’m writing this review.
Also, be prepared for how massive this thing is. I did not know CPU coolers came in sizes like this when I bought it, and I guess I didn’t pay that much attention to the dimensions when i clicked buy now. Thankfully, with my new case, it fits and so far is performing wonderfully, but if I hadn’t ordered a new case (with filters, yay) the same day, I’d have been hosed and it would have been entirely my fault.
Seriously, guys. It’s huge. I can’t post the pics for some reason, but your box better be deep, with no side-panel fans in the upper-ish area.
Does the job but the included 2nd 140mm fan would not clear the ram so I used a 120mm fan and added a 3rd 120mm fan to back with the included extra fan clips. You will need a full size case like a Enthoo Pro case to fit this monster of a fan inside the case… Or run it in the open. The center section allows at least one full size 140mm fan to be installed so only lost some perfamance but I hope the extra 120mm fan made up for it.
Make sure you measure the case and make sure it’ll fit over the top of your RAM slots, this fan/heat-sink combo is really large. Dropped one star on installation and mounting system, as the clips used to mount the fans to the heat-sink are cumbersome (at first). To the folks in product design, “C’mon man…” There has to be a better way. Still, that said. This thing runs so quiet and even at full load from gaming, it barely gets warm. I have zero regrets, really. I would recommend and would buy again.
The cooler box had all the parts I needed plus more for other mounts. The fans are massive and take a moment to clip on to the radiators. While it claims it’s cut out for memory modules heights it was still not high enough. I had to replace one of the 140mm fan with a 120mm fan but so far it’s working well.
To be fair I run my system 24/7 365 @ 100% and I am running a AMD Ryzen 9 3950x.
So all 16 cores (32 Threads 100%.) at 4.1ghz.
when the system is Idle, temps are around 40c, however under that loading that is normal for me temps approach 79c and the fans are at 100% the spec sheet says that the vans are <= 34db...
HAHAHAHHAHA
Their fans at full speed are easily twice as loud as my bequiet fans which have a max of 56cfm, though their purported airflow is 90.37cfm.
you know what other fan has a purported airflow of 90 cfm, my xigmatek fans. and at full speed (they only run at one speed.) they re quieter than the BeQuiet fans, which would make them about 3 times quieter than the DeepCool fans.
Xigmatek - <16db
BeQuiet - 15.5db
Deepcool - <=29.5db
from my experience the bequiet is a bit louder than they advertise, the Xigmatek is spot on and the DeepCool is much louder than advertised.
So my recommendation is if you get this cooler be prepared to replace the fans on day 1 if you are running anything over a 8c/16t processor.
now as to the cooler, it has a wider fin spacing than the BeQuiet, Noctua, and even the Cryorig cooler so you don't have to worry about the static pressure output of your fans. So pretty much any fan producing over 60cfm will work.
I have mine configured with 3 fans, a rear 140 in pull configuration a central 140 in push/pull configuration and a 120mm in push configuration. and all fans are at roughly 62cfm at max output.
I'm using all BeQuiet fans even though they are not the quietest I don't want the LED nonsense of the Xigmatek fans in this configuration it keeps my cpu at 79c under full load, 24/7/365.
when this happens the fans that the cooler ships with are just plain loud. I don't know what the youtubers were on when they said the fans were quiet. Yeah quiet compared to a jet engine.
So be prepared to toss the factory fans for something else.
I feel really bad for having to return this, because it’s a really good product.
It comes with a lot of accessories (including a screwdriver) and provides everything you could wish for.
Solid quality and one of the best coolers I`ve ever had…
Unfortunately I wanted to use it for my server rack which is 4U high but it does not fit 🙁
Used to build two AMD Ryzen rigs very impressed very quite and keeps temps low 30s high 20s even when overclocked. Very easy to install and instructions are spot on. The fact I brought a second and have done a review is a very high accolade.
Using this in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case with the stock case fans. Processor is an AMD 5900X, not overclocked.
Ran the Cinebench test for 15 minutes- continuous repeat. All individual processors were running at 100% for 15 minutes. The temperatures peaked at 63 Deg C after 2-3 minutes and stayed there the rest of the time.
This is a chunky old unit (box is massive) but a really well engineered cooler with 2 big 120mm fans. very large radiator surfaces with lots of heatpipes to get rid of that heat.
I installed in an older core i7 workhorse used for rendering work to replace a blown liquid cooling system.
Cooler installed really easily and also included a generous syringe of heat paste plus some cleaning swabs to get old paste off.
Loads of mount options to suit lots of different processors including AMD.
After install system was quiet and remained very cool even under load.
Will be ordering another one to keep in stock!
Excellent product. Equal in performance with my older Thermaltake 360mm ARGB AIO.
It’s important to know that the 140mm fan is big enough, that if you have tall RAM, you will have to mount the fan above the RAM higher. But, in my case, I decided to use my Thermaltake ARGB and Deepcool RGB 120mm fans. To my surprise, the screw holes of these fans are at the exact same positions as the screw holes on the original 140mm fans that came with this cooler, so my 120mm fans attach to the heat sink perfectly.
My results with my 9900k (1.25V, stock at 4.7 GHz, with Hyperthreading on) so far, at 80F ambient:
100% CPU usage using 7Zip: around 70C
Prime95 v26.6 (non AVX): 85C
Prime95 with AVX: 100C, and throttles my CPU a bit.
Gaming: gaming temperatures are excellent, at around mid 50s to low 60s in most game. When playing Call of a Duty Warzone (which is very CPU heavy), the temperature is between mid 60s to low 70s.
The temperature results are good, especially when gaming. These results are from using my 120mm ARGB and RGB (non original fans) that have around 47 CFM of airflow. My ARGB and RGB fans are weaker than the original ones coming from the cooler itself. The original fans are 140mm with around 90 CFM of airflow, so I’m sure my results would be better if I use the original fans.
I’m very happy with the product, and would recommend this to everyone. I definitely prefer this over my old AIO liquid cooler. And what’s best is that this cooler can’t leak (because it’s air), and you can upgrade the fans yourself, in case the original 140mm fans are not good enough.
My only complaint about this would be I wish it was alittle taller. The heat sink on my mother board won’t allow the fan to be mounted so it 100% covers the heat sink on side and the RAM affects it on the other. Also, for some reason it came with a Phips screw driver. Not sure why, because if you don’t already have one how did you get to point of installing the CPU cooler? So keep it and maybe knock a few dollars off the price.
Ram clearance: Large heatsinks can be a problem in this regard, the heatsink is cut in to allow clearance and the front fan can be raised to maintain clearance however this does require enough cpu cooler clearance in your case. In my build this came to 176mm. If this is an issue an alternative would be to use a pull configuration.
Build Quality: Doesn’t feel quite as solid as a Be Quiet or Noctua cooler which is noticeable when installing or removing fan clips and there are signs that it lacks the same level of quality control but I couldn’t find any real issues in the cooler I recieved and the mounting system holds solid.
Noise: Like any fan setup it can get noisy at high load but even on Total War warhammer 2 which is CPU intensive the GPU fan was generating the majority of noise in my pc so unless you are doing something that puts a particularly high load on your CPU it shouldn’t be an issue for most people.
Cooling: The cooling is good for gaming, my testing on games has managed to peak the temperature at 72c, compared to the Dark Rock Pro 4 which hit 76c in similar use on the same hardware.
There are a couple of false advertising claims here, they don’t have any special heatpipe technology they are regular heatpipes and the “spoilers” thats the plastic fins make no noticeable difference whether they are on or off.
Installation: It was simple to install with clear instruction, the fins of the heatsink were a little flimsy and some had burrs making the fan installation fiddly.
If a Noctua NH-D15 is within your budget I would recommend that but if you are trying to squeeze a high performance cooler within budget the Assassin 3 does have very good cooling performance and in my testing has slightly outperformed Be Quiet’s Dark Rock Pro 4.
I would have given it 5 stars but the only thing that concerns me are the heatsink fins showing signs that quality control isn’t to the level you would expect for a high end cooler so for that reason I’m going to drop it to 4 stars..
Amazing value. Comes with every thing you need to install it; including thermal paste. I was worried about the weight of the cooler but the mount seems to distribute the weight evenly so there is no pressure on the cpu / motherboard.
Cooling performance is very good just what I needed for the i9 9900k.
You will need a big case for this as the cooler is quiet high and will require uptoo 190mm clearence.
I have the asus gt501 case which worked well with this.
Over all very happy with this product. No pains so far.
Dimenticavo… preso a euro 79,99 nuovo.
The DEEPCOOL Assassin III Air CPU Cooler works well. I get CPU temperatures from 33c to 60c depending on load. When my Ryzan 7 5800 CPU and an MSI MEG X570 Unity Motherboard. The fans however are an installation issue. You can put one fan in the middle of the Large Heat Sink but hold it in with a wire brace. Only one wire brace could I install. Fortunately, it appears to hold firmly in the middle of the heat sink with just one wire brace. What happened to screws or something that is more solid? Second, the other fan is too large and will not fit on either side of the heatsink. It gets in the way of the Motherboard cables or it gets on top of the memory. Neither is a workable solution. So, I had to use one fan in the middle. I had a full-size
Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case White LED and good fortune, the second fan fit like a glove at the bottom of the box. An optional place on my full-size box for a fan is desired. So, the second fan wasn’t wasted. I add to this post weeks later. The Cooler works well and is quiet even at full speed. The Ryzen 7 5800 is overclocked at 4275 MHZ and is stable at an acceptable temperature at all stress levels. I recommend this cooler for those who have a box that it fits.
Unfortunately I have to give it one star. One of the screws that attaches the cooler to motherboard bracket was defective and kept spinning in place, or maybe it is the defective bracket. Whatever It was, it was a pain to remove it, to say the least.
Keeps my Ryzen 7 5800x nice and cool, and does so quietly. Temps never get close to the danger zone even when the machine is under heavy load. I’ve never built a PC before this and was debating liquid vs air cooling, but I’m glad I went with the Deepcool Assassin 3. I had trouble putting on the fan clips for a minute because I’m a bit of an idiot and have sausage fingers, but once I figured out how they fit on it was a breeze. I love my deepcool assassin!
Pros
– Cools my i9 10900k effectively
-fairly easy to install
-comes with everything you need (screwdriver and thermal paste)
Cons
-fans can be a little loud compared to other brands like cooler master or noctua
– It is very large so the fan doesn’t fit perfectly on one side and is too large for my case to close
– bracket blocks the cpu lever to to remove the cpu you have to remove everything
-so large where if you have to access most components it will be in the way and will have to be removed
tips for installation
-plug in everything first except for gpu. this includes the cpu cooler fans, cpu power cables, case fans, ram, and potentially m.2 ssd. I’d check to see if anything else needs to be plugged in as well that might be blocked once the heat sink is installed.
– put the cpu in place before adding the brackets
– do not follow the thermal paste instructions. Just put a pea sized drop in the middle of the cpu
This is pretty amazing. I used to have a H115i Pro AIO and was hitting 100’C trying to get my i9-9900k to 5.0 GHz on all cores. Just now I tried out going to “air” and picked this model based on Tom’s Hardware. AMAZING. My temps do not get past the mid-80’Cs with all cores at 5.0GHz/AVX offset =0 using Cinebench 20 or AIDA64. I’m a believer. I’m done with AIO’s. This is also extremely quiet.
Great product and great results. NOTE: I have a Corsair 570x case and the top of this almost touches the side of the case.
I was using a hyper 212 evo with my 5800x with temps from 30c idle to 78c full load not bad at all but with this heatsink I’m now seeing temps as low as 24c and max 67c
Pros are it’s well made and easy to install
The only things I didn’t like was the paste that is like putty so went with mx4
I also needed to raise one fan higher due to ram lucky I could just about shut the case
Using a case that holds 165mm should work fine however if you need to raise one fan and you likely will then its 170mm
So I made the mistake of giving a CLC cooler a try. Never again. I had weird problems with it from the start. It seemed to have air bubbles in it because if the PC was ever shut off and powered back on temps would be horrible unless the radiator (the part where the hoses connect) was given a slight smack. Then temps would fall back down (usually, sometimes required a few smacks, or rocking case back and forth). So I never shut my PC down.
Temps were never impressive with the Corsair H100iV2. I have a 8700K at 4.8 Ghz all core @ 1.230v. When I ran the AIDIA system stability test CPU temps (according to HWinfo64) would hit 80-82c). Well one day the pump in the Corsair H100i V2 just died completely. Leading to 100c CPU temps in BIOS. So I decided no more CLC’s. I went with this air cooler after much debate. I thought about the famous Noctua NH-D15, and be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4. I ended up going with the DeepCool Assassin III mainly because I thought it would fit inside my Corsair Obsidian 450D with the side panel. But I must have mis calculated (my fault). My memory (G-Skill 3200 Mhz 16 GB kit, 8GB x 2) with a height of 42 mm causes one of the fans on the cooler to sit a bit higher where the side panel cannot be on. I just popped out the plastic “window” part of side panel for now. Plan to cut a small hole for the fan to go through. It dose not block any of my memory slots though, I put 2 more DIMMS in no problem if/when I want.
Anyways on to the performance. This cooler is fantastic. Installation was extremely easy. They include a nice high quality, long Philips screwdriver for install. The mounting mechanism is extremely easy to install. Took ~15 mins. Used Artic Silver 5 thermal paste (been using that stuff for many years). Anyways, after getting it installed (heads up connect the fan together then connect the fan header to your mobo’s CPU fan header before mounting the cooler, luckily my GF has small enough hands she got it connected). I set my MSI Z370 SLI-PLUS CPU cooler header to auto mode and it’s default fan/temp curve. Ran AIDIA64 system stability test (stress CPU, FPU, cache, system memory all checked) for ~15 mins. CPU package temp never went above 76c, and not one of the 6 cores went above 76c. The cooler remained virtually silent as well. I love this thing. Thinking I could easily bump my OC to 4.9 Ghz no problem with this thing. But already thrilled with how much better it works that that Corsair H100I V2 CLC. And I no I don’t have to worry about a pump going dead on this thing.
Installation was a breeze with the included brackets. They are labeled AMD or Intel, so there will be no confusion. The only ish was the damn sticker badge for the cooler I placed it a little off. I wish Deep Cool would pre install it.
Cooler is bulky so make sure your case has clearance for the extra height when mounted. Using it on a Ryzen 3900X .. temps were a bit rough had to tweak some BIOS settings as my Asus Tuf was overvolting my cpu. Now its idling around 36 to 41 degrees with my ambient temps around 26 degrees Celsius. Load temps are around 66 to 70 degrees using BOINC WCG to fold as this runs 24 7 need a solid cooler for this alone and the Deep Cool so far been good. Cleared my G skill sticks no problem, but does block some of the rgb bling.
I’m not going to knock any stars for my lack of attention. I tried to fit this in an NZXT H510 with some Trident Z RGB RAM modules and well … this awesome looking cooler towers over the modules covering them completely on my Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master Mobo. The heatsinks on the RAM did not allow the right fan to sit low enough for the side panel to close. Make sure you either have a full tower or some low-profile memory modules.
My only knock I’d say was the thermal paste included with the unit I got was garbage, not pasty at all. Came out like silly putty.
Again, I wanted this to work, but I am attached to the small size of the H510 case and I’m not going to give it up, I’ll just have to stick with the all-in-one coolers.
I got this for my Ryzen 3900X buildbecause the stock prism wraith was really irritating in noise level. I went from 55dB next to my computer case under casual use (Just browsing, emailing chatting) to 42dB! On top of the decreased noise the fan noise is less “piercing” so even under load when the fans are spun up, it’s more consistent with the other fans in the case, so it’s less irritating in pitch; and the full load noise is significantly lower as well. The primary goal here was to get the noise down, and I succeeded in that! As a secondary benefit the temperatures dropped about 8 degrees under extended full load (Compile the linux kernel version 5.6 with all modules built, 24 threads), from 72C to 64C. Neither of those temperatures were too bad for this chip and neither would cause thermal throttling, but an 8 degree improvement is none-the-less good because it means I can run the other fans a lower (Quieter!) RPM. It also idles about 5 degrees cooler (34-35C vs 40C), but measuring a cooler by idle temp is kind of a useless measurement…
As far as fitment… It’s a big chunky cooler, so I know other people will have the same questions I had… Does it fit with X configuration… So I’ll post my configuration and go into some details. It doesn’t seem to interfere on the ASUS B-450F with the top graphics card slot or the top PCI-E 1x slot, but it does hang over my ram. I have 64GB (4 sticks) of Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3200 (BL2K16G32C16U4B), so it will fit over that for those of you looking for that info. It also JUST barely fits into my Corsair Carbide 200R case… I think the “spoiler” (The silly plastic thing on top that goes level with the tops of the fans) may be may be in contact with the side cover on my case, but the case still closes fine without effort, so it may not be touching. So I will warn anyone with a 200R, this is the cooler to use, not the slightly taller Noctua (The noctua is 2mm taller according to their specs)… Which was my concern and why I bought this and not that.
Installation was pretty straight forward, the directions were well written, well drawn, and easy to follow. Everything you need to install it was included in the box, including plenty of thermal paste (More than enough for one application), a wipe to get the old thermal paste off, and a card to spread it (Which you may or may not choose to do). It was also nice that the screws included tension springs, which helps prevent over tightening (If you’re truly determined you could probably overtighten it, so don’t be the hulk here). The installation hardware seemed pretty well machined, and it all just fit together with no fiddling around with anything. One thing I’ll mention, it’s a big chonker, so it may interfere with your ability to get to your fan headers easily so I would plug in any fans BEFORE installing it (Not mentioned in the directions, but you should know). Although it doesn’t hang over my fan headers, based on other fan placement in my case and where they are in my board it cuts down on clearance significantly.
The included long #2 philips magnetic screw driver was a nice touch, I would assume plenty of people don’t have a long enough one to reach down between the fins and tighten those screws… So good on them. It wouldn’t be the first screw driver I’d reach for, but it’s very nice for a freebie.
1 issue i have. ram clearance for the front fan is nonexistent. This needs to come with a 120mm. i will be getting one soon. So in reality Deepcool can save it’s customers money changing the front fan to 120mm. i am not returning the cooler though as it does the job very very well.
Had to return it as some capacitors on my motherboard got in the way of the mounting brackets. Given that I couldn’t mount it, I can’t speak to the performance or installation process. Though from my research, this performs slightly better than the Noctua DH-15 but is louder by 4 dB. I believe this is from GamerNexus’s YouTube video comparing the two.
PROS
Comes with are the thermal paste spreader, PWM 1 to 2 fan header adapter, 2x PWM fan header extensions. Very well packaged though it does come in the manufacturer’s box so people can see what it is. Easy to understand and concise manual.
CONS
The brackets are very big so make sure they can fit!
Although it was unnecessary, it came with a screwdriver.
So as much as I love this cooler lets talk about that chrome finish… it loves finger prints. Performance wise this cooler is top notch. I purchased it for my 3900x and it does a beautiful job. It was relatively easy to install and works very well. Im using corsair vengeance DDR4 ram and it is in my opinion some of the lowest profile ram Ive ever seen and fitting this cooler in a standard atx nzxt case was close. Any heat spreaders at all will impact your ability to fit this cooler in a case. Highest temps ive seen with this cooler is 64c while streaming and open world game with medium preset CPU encoding @900p, so it is very capable and I would guess fine for overclocking. The screwdriver included was magnetic and built the system i bought it with. They included paste and clear instructions as well as a cool case badge and not one of those cheap stickers most companies give you. overall very happy and would purchase again. Its a great buy.
The best cooler. Period. CPU temps (intel i7 7770k @ 4.2 ghz) idle at 25C, and at heavy load at 55C. This cooler is huge. Takes up most of the space between my motherboard and case, barely clearing my corsair vengeance pro 32g RAM and EVGA 1080ti FTW3 GPU. It will clear ram as tall as 54mm (mine are 51mm tall). Fans are quiet and efficient. Installation was straight forward, with a little finagling. It fit my intel 1151 bracket and comes with a variety of different mounting adapters.
Kit comes with:
All hardware neccessary
4 mounting brackets
1 rear support bracket
6 fan clips
2 fans
2 fan speed reducing cables
1 4-pin splitter wire
1 massive hear sync
Instructions
3.5 oz. Thermal paste
Alchohol cleaning pad
Philips screw driver.
I’ve installed several Noctua 15’s and have had no complaints other than the nauseating color and giant size. This time I installed the assassin 3 and I’m very happy. I’m running a 9900K z390 board, 64g 3600, GTX1600ti and the temps hover in low 70’s full load. CPU OC’d to 5.0 and Prime 95 and Aida rarely get the fans up to full speed. I had to swap out the front 140mm fan for a 120mm due to case clearance but there’s still more room than the Noctua. Overall, the assassin is a bit smaller. It’s quiet and I’m very impressed. Mounting is super easy. I get to use my taller TridentZ RGB’s.
Well to start there is very Little PROOF the DEEP COOL Assassin III will work for the 3950X.. Being a couple of NEW PRODUCTS there is very FEW Video reviews on either to watch… Im not Big on overclocking what the point in shaving off a couple seconds here or there just because you can??? Sooo I compared what I found online and took a CHANCE… This Cooler is a BEAST and the Looks are FAR better than the only other Air Cooler that can keep up…why not use an AIO??? Well I know one thing about Water… it will eventually LEAK.. So AIO was out the question… I leave my PC running 24-7 and I could not imagine coming home and seeing water everywhere knowing everything is shorted out !!! Back to the online Videos and reviews…Having seen the other Top Model with the ugly brown FANS was beat by the DEEP COOL Assassin III …LOL… WHO Kicked Ass with a couple degrees up over the top of the line Air Cooler with the Brown Fans… I looked at the HEAT PIPES… I know 7 would be more efficient that 6 So I got it and I took before and after Pictures… Using Handbrake which uses a ton of processing power to get the Heat on,,,…the old Fan ranged from
93C to 94.5C you can see that in the pictures.. I also have videos… the DEEP COOL Assassin III ranges from 60C to 75C… My guess is after a couple days it will preform even better… there is also some pictures of the space it took in the Case… I have a AZZO Solano 1000 case (Modded by putting the Fan on the outside) and I am using the MSI Gamer Carbon Pro… And 64G of GSkill Flare X Model F4-3200C16Q-64GFX .. As to RAM CLEARENCE..No need to move the Fan on the Assassin III UP Plenty of clearance see the Picture… You can also see the space between the SYBA SI-PEX40097 PCIE card and the Assassin III My OS is on my Corsair Force MP510 M.2 2280 960GB F960GBMP510
Now finally I can use it for what I intended without Crazy High Temps…
PS: I put the Badges on after I took the Pictures…
Cons… None.. except I had to figure out how to apply the badges…
Feb 3 2020.. I updated the Power Plan to Ryzen Balance and my numbers now running Handbrake is 49C I am AMAZED
Had just built my new system and really hate the idea of water cooling especially above my new Gtx 2080 Super. Unable to find the Noctua D15 in the Chromax black. Man that company is its own worse enemy. So wondering what to do to get a really good air cooler for my i9900k I happened to see this reviewd on Pauls hardware. Oh my goodness it did not dissapoint. It comes with a really good quality screwdriver and extra spring clips. Also a good thermal paste and a spreader for it. This is a genuinly nice product, It went on so easily i actually laughed out loud as i realised it was already installed after a few minutes its built well and it feels so. A you tube movie showing both AMD and Intel installation topped it off and there are also very clear and well written and drawn instructions.
Double check all the clearances (height of RAM and space between back of GPU and the cooler itself). It was really quick and easy to mount this cooler. Has a real nice gloss black and chrome look to it.
Could not be more pleased. Cools Ryzen 9 3900X on an x570 board like a champ in 4k video rendering and hard editing. Excellent quality. Great installation hardware and instructions. Bought 2!
I personally don’t like AIO cause I’m terrified that something catastrophic will happen that’s why I went with Deepcool cause it handles my 9900k 5GHz with no problem it’s only a few celcius behind the premium AIOs out there
I’ve built a few PCs over the last 20 years. Some for me, some for friends. This is the simplest install of a cooler I’ve seen. This was the part that scared me before building, the CPU and cooling. I’m comfortable with it now and this made it even easier. It’s almost fool proof.
On the cooling end, I have an i9 9900k which runs pretty hot. I usually go all in one water cooling but decided to try this, this time. It really holds its own. Did a stress test on the CPU and it topped out at 70 degrees. That leaves a little room for overclocking if I feel so inclined someday (maybe I’ll update this with those results).
It is large however, but if you have or are willing to buy a case big enough to fit it, I wouldn’t hesitate. Even if you’re new to building a PC, I have a hard time picturing someone messing this up.
I Bought this cooler for my new computer which has AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor. You know 3900X is powerful CPU and you need to have a good cooler for better performance. I searched different website and I found Assassin III is a good option for my computer. In first impression, you cannot believe that new cooler from DeepCool could be like this. In the package you can find two fans and all accessories that you need to install it. Setup is so easy and despite of heatsink size, it is so light! It means cooler does not make problem for you motherboard. Package has thermal paste and the quality is really good. With this cooler my CPU works better and also CPU temp is really lower than stock cooler. If you like a cooler that can use with any kinds of CPU socket, Assassin III will not disappoint you.
Pros:
-Quality materials
-Required tools provided
-Easy instructions
-Silent. Not quiet, silent. That’s dual 140mm fans, completely silent. I’m dumbfounded.
-Size. It’s huge.
Cons:
-Size, if you do not have a deep case (like my old one).
-Size, if you have tall heatsinks on your ram.
HAHAHAHHAHA Their fans at full speed are easily twice as loud as my bequiet fans which have a max of 56cfm, though their purported airflow is 90.37cfm. you know what other fan has a purported airflow of 90 cfm, my xigmatek fans. and at full speed (they only run at one speed.) they re quieter than the BeQuiet fans, which would make them about 3 times quieter than the DeepCool fans. Xigmatek - <16db BeQuiet - 15.5db Deepcool - <=29.5db from my experience the bequiet is a bit louder than they advertise, the Xigmatek is spot on and the DeepCool is much louder than advertised.
I’m using this for an R9 5900x
The air cooler is the best among all, including noctua
This is pretty amazing. I used to have a H115i Pro AIO and was hitting 100’C trying to get my i9-9900k to 5.0 GHz on all cores. Just now I tried out going to “air” and picked this model based on Tom’s Hardware. AMAZING. My temps do not get past the mid-80’Cs with all cores at 5.0GHz/AVX offset =0 using Cinebench 20 or AIDA64. I’m a believer. I’m done with AIO’s. This is also extremely quiet.
Great product and great results. NOTE: I have a Corsair 570x case and the top of this almost touches the side of the case.
it’s really very good .maximum degree when I use ryzen 7 3700x full load 61c
I was using a hyper 212 evo with my 5800x with temps from 30c idle to 78c full load not bad at all but with this heatsink I’m now seeing temps as low as 24c and max 67c
Pros are it’s well made and easy to install
The only things I didn’t like was the paste that is like putty so went with mx4
I also needed to raise one fan higher due to ram lucky I could just about shut the case
Using a case that holds 165mm should work fine however if you need to raise one fan and you likely will then its 170mm
Gi montato, Corrisponde perfettamente a quanto richiesto.
It’s a great CPU cooler. Very quiet and efficient. Would buy again.
Dropped cpu max temp by 10 deg. You need a really deep case for this heat sinc
Excelente producto!
Super quiet at 100% fan speed, just as capable as the Noctua Dh15, and prettier. Highly recommend.
One of the Best wind cooler, bought for 3900x while keep it around 65C 149F when 100% use
