We have 5 dogs and 2 cats, so have to do poo patrols several times a day. Although the bags do not have handle to tie them off once used the scent is excellent and makes such a difference to plain nappy bags we used before. And they decompose!
Love these, they’ve changed the sticky tabs so the first bag doesn’t split when you open a roll and they are large enough to deal with any amount of poo, we have two large dogs and I can always still knot the bag easily.
Outstanding value. Have used various brands but these bags are both a good size and strength. The scent is not too bad either and is especially useful when dealing with the bags intended contents.

I have 8 dogs so I do a lot of picking up! These bags are the best. Big and sturdy I can fit 3 or 4 poos in each bag with plenty of room to tie the tops. They never split or leak. Fabulous!

Absolutely love these bags I won’t buy any others now. The only thing I would say is there’s no way of knowing when the roll in the dispenser is getting low. Just wondered if the manufacturer had thought about making the last couple of bags on the roll a different colour so you know it’s time for a new roll? For example the lavender bags the last couple the lavender colour and the no scent blue ones blue. Just an idea

Nice thick bags and smell lovely. The dispenser is great. I particularly like that it has a small hook on the back so after picking up your dogs business you can just hook the bag on there.
Not a great deal to say. Bags are excellent. Robust and big enough to scoop the poop without breaking. Good to know they break down too.
This is the second time i’ve bought this product and i love them, never had a problem with the bag perforations and the smell of them masks the contents inside nicely. I bought the black bundle previously and didnt like them at all. some came of split and i wasnt aware of this until it was too late and all over my hands….Gonna stick with these from now on…..
Always use these bags, I have 3 dogs so get through a lot of these, they are strong and the lavender smell is quite nice.
This is the only dispenser which has not fallen apart and been lost after the first use. The velcro strap is strong and I love that the dispenser and the bags are earth friendly.
Wouldn’t use anything else for our dog. Environmental friendly and a welcome scent of lavender to destroy that tear watering aroma.
Good value for money. The bags are great and sufficiently big for a single motion. The lavender smell is there, but once you picked up dog poop, that is no longer relevant. I’m leaving 4 stars because the lavender smell is a gimmick, but the bags themselves are great.
I really like these dog poo bags and the dispensers are by far the best that I’ve used. They’re easy to attach to any lead due to the velcro fastening and the clip to put your used bag is brilliant too. They’re strong and don’t fall apart. The bags are quite big but the lavender smell isn’t too strong. Overall I think that they’re great and I’ll definitely be using them again.

Only just got these so not sure if this should be four or five stars yet. They work perfectly for cleaning out my cats’ litter tray. Like anything that comes on a perforated roll, you just have to be a bit careful how you tear each one off. Dispenser works OK and I like the lavendar smell but not sure how long it will last – especially as a box will last me 12 months!
If you need bags to pick up after your four legged wonder, these would be some to consider. You get two little dispensers also.

The bags are great. Pick up the poo with confidence, and biodegradable too. Only downside is the unnecessary plastic tube core that comes with every roll – not very environmentally smart.

The best poo bags in ten years of dog ownership. Main benefits are

Dogs poo – its a fact of owning them. Now we always have bags with us! it comes with 2 dispensers, we keep one on the lead and one on the back door.

These bags are great. They are large enough no matter the size of your dog or their poop, they are strong enough that you don’t feel worried you’ll put your fingers through them and definitely stop any smell coming through. The only way they could be better if they had handles but from my search it’s hard to find biodegradable smelling poo bags with handles. This is our second box and the holder is great with a belt clip and velcro loop for attaching to a lead.
These tick all boxes .i originally got them as they are biodegradable for when we’re on long walks were there isn’t any bins but they are also nice and thick ,so no splitting and the scent in the bags help for when your carrying them until you find a bi

Excellent product… covers the whole hand and wrist, in case your dog, like mine, favours stinging nettles as his place to ‘go’. Also big enough to cope with the output of a large dog. Robust enough that your fingers don’t go through the bag. Not my idea of what lavender smells like, but otherwise a top notch product, delivered swiftly.

Bags are easy to open and I have had no problem with the holder unscrewing – that said I do have it fastened onto the lead quite tightly so it is not swinging about as I walk.

Adore these. They are big, strong and the best smelling biodegradable bags we ever used. They also come with these plastic reusable containers, that clip on my dog’s harness, so we never leave them behind.
As the owner of two dogs these bags are great. Lightly scented helps with their primary function, holders are good quality. Will buy again.
Having rolls are easier to carry in pockets of anywhere. Every jacket has a roll. I got the 900 pack with 2 roll holders. The holders fit easily on the lead and we use it to carry a roll as a backup.

These bags are great and I’m reminded how great when I’m forced to use an alternative if I run out or forget them. They’re really robust (never had a split)’ a good size and come in handy rolls which fit perfectly in the pocket. Buying in bulk makes a lot of sense financially too. Oh and the fact they’re biodegradable means they are guilt free unlike most other brand of poo bag.
Large, strong bags. They also smell nice, obviously before they are used. The holders are strong and I like the velcro as a strap on the holders. There is a clip on the holder to put the filled bag on until you can reach a bin.
Use to be able to get these from TK-Max, when I no longer found them available there I thought I’d check out Amazon as the bags are great, being green they standout in the rubbish in your pockets, the foot well of the car or just about anywhere. The scent of lavender is both amusing and reassuring, amusing as nothing is going to mask the smell of the contents and reassuring as you know its trying its best! Good strong bag ideal for dogs up to 15kg at least probably more. 900 should keep us going two years!

Never buy cheap parachutes, condoms or poop bags. If you do, you could (or may not) live to regret it. These poop bags are very large and strong (I have 2 German Shepherds who poop good volumes!). They are scented, do font smell too bad. Having ‘rescued’ people who buy inferior bags, Ihighly recommend these over other ones.
Eases my conscience that the content and the bag are biodegradable.
Very easy to use. Fits perfectly on our poop-scoops, and wonderfully masks the – ahem – pong – from both of our beasties.
The lavender scent is a bit much indoors, when the bags are all together, but we keep them in the hut, and just replenish a few at a time when needed. The wee dispensers are brilliant. Fitting nicely on the belt and handly for emergency use.

Considering how long it takes plastic to degrade it is a great idea making them biodegradable. When opening the box you will first be amazed at how many there are but you maybe over powered by the scent. It reminds me of my Gran’s soap when I was young. I have put a few rolls and dispenser into my work bag and I must say, it does smell better!
As the council have changed our bins to the wheelie bins I use the old metal one for the dog presents so by bin collection day it can be smelling a bit ripe. Not now, the only smell is if you take the lid off and you get a hint of lavender.
One thing I hate is when they make them so thin they are transparent. I don’t want to see what is in it so I’m sure other people don’t either.
My dog goes around 2-3 times a day so these should last at least a year which I think makes these very good value. I have never been a fan of scented because of how over powering they can be all together but these have changed my mind. I will be getting them again but not for a quite a while yet!
You really need to like the smell of lavender with these bags. Opening the box immediately fills the room with a quite overpowering scent. The box they arrive in is very sturdy so will be good for storing the rolls in. The two little holders provided are very sturdy and the clip fastener clips easily onto a belt loop or bag. The bags are very thick-compared to some others. Have had no issues with rips or tears. The scent comes into its own once the bags are in use.
These ‘Earth Rated’ doggy bags are a different type to those I usually use, which are the basic and very cheap black bags that many other dog owners will be familiar with. Besides the colour those ones are different in that they are shaped with tie handles at the top. This does make them much easier to tie than these ‘Earth Rated’ bags, which lack that (basic) facility. However, in their favour, these bags are of a much better quality i.e. much thicker and with the added bonus of being scented. Unlike some other reviewers I found the scent pleasant and subtle. If these had the tie handles, I would consider them perfect, but given that they don’t I shall probably in time revert back to the cheap black bags.
In this massive box I would estimate you get not just weeks or months supply, but years (perhaps even enough to last the lifespan of your pooch), but with the price not currently being described for this product it’s not possible to guage whether or not you get value for money.

They are of a good strength (no more yucky fingers!) and come with two nifty-looking dispensers. They are a good size–noticeably longer than normal ones–, nice shade of green and have a fairly nice smell (though like all these things, it’s similar to those “Scratch n Sniff” things you used to get in the TV Times donkeys years ago!). They don’t have tie handles, but due to the length it’s easy to tie the corners together.
Buying them in bulk certainly saves you a bit compared to buying separate packs from the supermarket. I’ve worked it out and for my 2-3 per day dog (1 of which is usually deep in the undergrowth so I don’t bother) these should last 1.5-2 years. It’s also nice having so many on small rolls as I can throw a few in the car/in with my camping gear to ensure all eventualities are catered for.
Other than that, I can’t really think what else to say about them. I’d say they were marginally better to use than the Bob Martin type ones (a little thicker and longer) and miles better than cheapo ones.

Unlike some reviwers, upon opening the box I was not over powered by the scent. The smell was there but subtle.
900 bags set out over 60 rolls, thus 15 bags per roll the actual size of the box is not too big, so easy to store. I could not believe the price of 8 for 1 dispenser with 15 bags, nor the price of 375 bags at 24ish.
With a statement on the side of the of 15 supply, that really should not be there. Of course it all depends on how often you need to use them; your location, number of dogs, size of dog stool, consistency of stool and other factors.
With 2 small dogs and an oversized lab called Scooby Doo, who can poo for Wales it will be interesting to find out how long the boxful will last.
The bags are strong and durable and of a good size.
What a surprise when the box arrived. The smell of the Lavender was quite prominent and the box itself contained 60 rolls containing 15 bags, making a total of 900 bags – would probably last 12 months if you have one dog. The size of the bags, 13″ x 9″ are larger than normal and they are strong.
The two Green Leash Dispensers with adjustable strap are cute and allow you to hook the used bag onto it. The quality of this product is excellent but at present, there is no price details available for this product.
These bags are perfect in doing the job they are designed to do. They are strong and a decent size which means there is no worry about spillage. They are scented for what its worth (never sure it actually makes all that much difference when faced with steaming pile of). If you like lavender smell you’ll be ok. If you don’t store them outside. What is very handy is it comes with bag holder / dispenser which is pretty nifty and helpful whilst out on a walk.
Green and scented poop bags? What will they think of next?
Actually, they are nicely robust, thick enough that you won’t put your fingers through them by accident, or rip when scraping/picking the poop off gravel or Tarmac. They also come with two plastic dispensers you can attach by a Velcro strap to either the lead or your belt.
Of course once picked up and contained you might want to fling them over someone’s fence or into a hedge as soon as possible rather than having to carry them miles hoping to come across an official receptacle. You are of course a responsible dog owner and would never consider doing such a thing.
The manufacturers have taken a leaf out of scented nappy bags. Contain the poop in a nicely scented bag to take the edge off the smell and it does work to an extent. I’m not saying it is entirely pleasant on a hot day but it does help in keeping the smell down on your walks.
Size wise they are reasonable proportioned so should contain the average sized ‘doing’. If you have a big dog like me, sometimes it is better to divide into two equal portions than to try and squeeze it into one.
While your dog might not care whether you pick up or not, your neighbours and friends will be quietly grateful and you are doing the environment a favour.
These are 5 star bags, and for the number you get, they are good value.
Good sized and easy to rip off each other dog poo bags, different than the usual black or blue ones we usually use.
Have tried various ones in the past for our late beagle Scooby, found the pound shop ones good for a time then those and another went a lot thinner and more likely to rip which is not something you want to happen when out and about with dog, Tried various makes on rolls and with the dispensers they come with and these are way the best from the couple of uses so far for our puppy. So many of them too so should not be running out anytime soon with these.
These seem strong and do smell very strong (lavendar, but do remind me more of toilet lavendar air freshner than anything else).
The two dispensers are easy to undo and put the bags into and they do when wanting to use actually tear off easily, OH hates some as they seem hard to separate so will be interesting to see what he has to say about these funky green looking ones.
Another thing I like with the dog design you actually know which end of the bag to open easily, daft but when out in rain and that dammed bag can not open as you are there trying to open wrong end. Well, these bags stop that from happening.
The bags themselves are big have actually tried a couple out on pig poo and they work a treat. Usually use a pick up tool and that but thought with these bags being big and seeming strong would test them out on a pile of pig poo and strong enough indeed. Not that I will be pig walking and need them, leaving the rest for puppy. Who does not seem put off by the smell of them thankfully, well dogs can smell better than humans.
Have one of the dispensars attached to his lead for easy to use poo clearing time when out in garden, saves going back into house for one.
Easy to store as well as the rolls all come in a thick cardboard box so that is good too, no chance of rolls falling out.
Earth rated, but for me as long as they do the job, no leaking mess or rips well I am more than satisfied with these. I might even be tempted to buy these when they run out as impressed so far with them.
Can not give a price comparison on these and others in all honesty as at time of review there is no price put out but would not imagine them being that much more or so than other leading ones.
UPDATE. These are still being used and so easy to change the refil when needing more. Also OH has said they are so much better, ok no handles for easy tying likes some others we have used. But he actually prefers these as they are bigger and stronger. Plus he also likes the fact that there is little plastic bit for putting full bag onto so saving your pockets or holding it in your hand till you find somewhere to dispose of it.
Each roll has 15 bags, and fits onto a spindle in the small green plastic container. They are dispensed in a fashion similar to a toilet roll. It attaches onto the handle of your lead, and when full the bag can be clipped to the back, so that you don’t have to hold it.
The bags are fragranced, and most of my friends really like the scent but personally I find it smells a bit like a bad car freshener G although it’s preferable to the alternative.
I really like them. They’ve improved my dog walking experience no end.
Seems like a good diea to me to make this product available in the quantity that is in this box. That’s a huge selling point for me.
Anyway, to business (sorry…). These are lavender scented dog poo bags, in rolls of 15 which should ensure you have enough available for things like holidays and trips out with your faithful friend. The rolls themselves fit neatly into a green plastic dispenser (two included in the box) that fastens to a keyring, belt loop or leash using some velcro. Obviously if you are one of those who sticks it in your pocket (eww!) to dispose of later then the somewhat chemical air freshener smell is a definite alternative to Fido’s latest bowel strainer.
The bags themselves seem to come from a Canadian origin. This does mean that they are not rated with the biodegradability stamps we are used to over here, however the manufacturer does indicate that these bags will degrade over a relatively short period into carbon dioxide and water (plus contents obviously). The rolls (for a total of 900 bags) come in a cardboard carton which is handy sized to keep in a cupboard as it’s not much larger than a jumbo sized cereal box. Considering it’s a well-presented product that a single dog owner would potentially get 18 months or so usage out of then a definite five stars
I’m fussy about dog poo bags – for me they need to be thick enough to effectively disguise the contents and protect against tears and the consequent spillage, and also big enough so that they can cope with the output of two small dogs per bag. I’d recently settled on the magenta coloured bags from Wilkinson’s but that involves a round trip of an hour so the idea of stocking up with enough bags for a year or so was hugely welcome.
The good news is that these are strong and big – they don’t have bag handles like most other bags but are long enough that tying them is simple, however full they might be. They fit nicely into the Pedigree Easi-Scoop that I use and are, in fact, preferable to the ones supplied with the scoop. The scent doesn’t remind me of lavender at all but is pleasant enough – though you’ll want to keep the box properly sealed otherwise it’ll spread throughout the house.
The bags come in attractive packaging which does as good a job as can be expected of presenting such an everyday object in an appealing way – useful since the box will be hanging around for a long time. Overall, a great product that solves this particular first world problem for me for at least a year.
These are scented bags for dog waste (you know the stuff I mean…) They are supplied as small rolls each containing 15 bags, and you get 60 rolls in the box for a grand total of 900 bags; this is claimed to be sufficient for 15 months, but that presumably depends on your particular dog’s digestive system!
The bags are thin but strong, and large enough to easily get your hand into them. The scent is quite heavy – it hits you as soon as you open the box – but I wouldn’t say it smelled much like lavender; it’s more a generic toilet cleaner type scent. Certainly a lot less unpleasant than the scent of what you will be picking up, but it’s quite pervasive, so you might want to store the box of unused bags in the garage or somewhere similar.
Two handy dispensers are included, which hold a roll of bags and are small enough to attach to a keyring or bag with the supplied velcro strap. There is a small clip on the dispenser to hold a used bag, which saves carrying it in your hand until you can find a bin.
There’s no statement anywhere in the packaging as to whether or not the bags are biodegradable – I checked the company’s website, and apparently they contain an additive which will cause them to break down, but because this is not guaranteed to happen within a certain time frame, they cannot be sold as “biodegradable”. Something to consider if you care about the environment; one star knocked off for this, as filling up landfill with bags of dog waste isn’t ideal.
But other than that, this is a decent product, with the advantage that one box should last a very long time.
I have 2 Newfoundlands and they defaecate like elephants!!! These bags are easily big enough to clear up after them. They are very robust too – so there’s no chance of them bursting. The lavender fragrance is powerful and hits you as soon as you open the box, which helps make an unpleasant job a bit more bearable. They come in tightly rolled units with a couple of handy dispensers which clip onto your belt or can be attached by means of a small velcro strap. Thoroughly recommended.
What a great product. Comes in a neat roll which fits into the handy carry container which can be clipped onto a belt or bag. Lovely and scented so no nasty smells. Nice size as well so makes them great to use what ever the doggie size. Good web site and other products in the range as well. Great value for money
I never thought I’d be so excited by doggie poop bags! This set is fantastic, though. I actually purchased a smaller set originally to see if I liked them and I loved them so much, it made sense economically to buy the huge set.
The best part is that this one comes with 2 dispensers. I only had one dispenser previously and it had a metal clip which wouldn’t fit on our retractable leash because the handle was too big. The new version, however, comes with a little velcro loop so you can attach it to any size handle and it can be moved from leash to leash if necessary…but you get 2 so you might not need to move them around. So great. It is also super-easy to load a new roll of bags. Just unscrew the bottom of the dispenser, RECYCLE the cardboard insert, put the new roll in and screw on the bottom.
The bags themselves are great because they are a darker color. I hated having those blue bags because you could see a lump of dark stuff inside when they were full. So gross. You can’t see through these as much and they have writing on them which helps further disguise the contents. Of course, you still have a full bag of something and it’s kind of obvious what it is! They are scented also which is nice.
The other awesome thing about the dispenser is that it has a little clip on the side so you can slip the bag in there once it’s full and you don’t have to carry it. That might be my favorite part. I confess that I still have my original dispenser on our normal walking leash and the clip on that one was a little tighter. I haven’t tested the clips on the new style but they don’t look as tight. That might make it easier to slip the bag in but I’m not sure if it will hold as well. I’ll have to write an update later about that.
All in all, I LOVE these dispensers and bags. I would recommend them to anyone I know who has a dog. My dog is a Jack Russell but the bags seem pretty big so I’m sure they would be more than adequate if you have a big dog also.
Quality Comparison
1. Earth Rated: The thickest, the easiest to open (both because of thickness and seemingly less static), the longest, and the easiest to tear. And the smell is not overwhelming at all. If anything, it is nice to have.
2. Bags on Board: The Bags on Board bags that came with the dispenser that we ordered were pretty good, but not as good as Earth Rated for sure. We didn’t order more for a couple reasons. First, all the reviews on Amazon state that the bulk buys are 2″ shorter, which was a moot point because the bulk buy of 315 bags is more expensive than buying in lower quantity of 120. Nevertheless,these bags are ever so slightly MORE expensive than buying the notably better Earth Rated bags and at lower quality.
3. Generic-like bags from Amazon: We ordered some of the generic-like bags from Downtown Pet Supply on Amazon in a quantity of 220. These are the standard blue bags, but manufacturers might vary so quality may as well. Like I said, our experience is with Downtown Pet Supply. These were just about as good as the Bags on Board ones….maybe slightly thinner and they also felt a bit narrower.
4. AKC bags: Steer clear of these. I don’t even know if Amazon sells them. We ran out of bags and had to go to the local drugstore to get more bags. We bought some AKC-branded bags and they were terrible. Really thin (imagine a clear produce bag at a grocery store) and were hard to tear cleanly without ripping the bag.
Cost Comparison
Using the prices as of Dec 3, 2012 on Amazon and utilizing quantities of 120 for Bags on Board (like I mentioned, these are cheaper than the larger quantity of 320 for some reason), 700 for the generic-like bags, and 900 for the Bags on Board, below is how the cost/bag varies by manufacturer. I also added an additional third column on the cost/day assuming 5 poops (our pup poops a lot). As you can seem you are spending 8 cents more/day over the generic-like bags with the Earth Rated ones, for a far better bag.
