I’ve wanted an air fryer for ages but haven’t taken the plunge because I wasn’t sure if it was all hype. When this beast – quite a big bit of kit – arrived, I just looked at it for a couple of days. Then I had family round and of course decided to try it out for the first time. I know most normal people would at least give it a go before plunging in like that, but hey ho. I breaded 12 very large chicken legs (what was I thinking?) heated the fryer for 3 minutes popped them all in and pressed go. I turned them over half way through and gave them an extra 5 minutes and couldn’t believe the result. They came out golden and crispy and cooked through.

The air fryer uses a fraction of the electric my oven uses because I’m not heating up empty space. It’s cheaper and healthier because I’m not using oil. It’s faster because it blasts hot air at the food. I’ve now used it for a wide variety of breaded foods, chips, roast potatoes, onion bhajis, samosas etc etc. I will say that roast potatoes don’t come out quite as good as the ones I cook in goose fat at Christmas, but are perfectly acceptable as every day ones. I’m going to try the frozen roast potatoes and see how they come out. I bet they’ll be great.

The insides of the fryer, both the basket and the container, are non-stick and clean up very easily. It is easy to recommend this product. Now I’ve got it I can’t understand why I didn’t get one sooner.

Unlike some other reviewers, this arrived complete and in perfect condition. It’s a bog standard air fryer, there a number of others that are the same basic design and differ only in electronics and cosmetics.
We were pretty pleased with this and so far (around a month) it has worked as expected.
Operation is simple. Place the food you want to cook in the basket. Don’t overfill. The official photos on the listing are misleading. Load it up with chips as you see there and it won’t cook them very well.(We’ve tried!) About half full is the optimum, although if you can get a decent airflow with what you are cooking you could get more in. Set temerature and time – usually took less than the suggested time – press start and wait. You’re notified when it has finished and you can take out your food.
Cleaning is relatively easy, the whole tray comes out and then you can release the basket that holds the food for cooking. Although this is billed as ‘no-oil’ cooking, you should be aware that many frozen products for example, chips, come with a coating of oil in order to cook correctly. This will drip off and settle under the basket on the tray. Naturally greasy food – bacon is an example – can make quite a mess. I wrap them in foil to solve this.
Once you get used to Air Frying, you may find it changes a lot of things. This is the second one we’ve had (The first which was in use for two years was passed on when this arrived.) and we have found that we use it for many things – cakes being the big exception – that we may have either put in a frying pan or in the oven. Not having the air filled with grease or the chore of cleaning up is a blessing. Recommended.

(One last recommendation, it very good for setting Fimo if you use that; much easier than the oven!)

Dreamiracle Air Fryer – Oil Free Air Fryers for Home Use, LED Onetouch Screen, 10 Presets, 7.5L, 1700W is currently at the price of 79.99 (with an extra 20 off voucher) including next day quick delivery and 30 day free returns if anything goes wrong with the product.
I had an air fryer last year but it was up to 3l big and it was taking so much electricity (mostly due to the fact that it had to cook food much longer than what it said on the box), so I ended up returning it.
This air fryer is much bigger so I thought to give it one last chance and see if there is a big improvement in the performance once you increase the size.
I have checked other reviews of this product and I am happy to say that mine came all in one piece without any damage. It was well packed but it is pretty heavy so I think there could be a possibility for it to get damaged during the transit simply due to curriers dropping it on the floor.
The air fryer is BIG. It’s about 3 times the size of the one I had or about 2 times the size of the Nespresso coffee machine – just to give you an idea. I have no space for it on my counter so I put it on our small kitchen table which is not the most convenient place but as we don’t use it that much is not a big deal.
The air fryer comes with instructions stuck in the top and front warning you to make sure that you remove all pieces of Packaging from the inside to avoid it catching on fire.
The tape on the top is pretty hard to remove though and it leaves markings that you would probably have to remove with nail polish or something similar to not scratch the surface.
The main drawer can be out into two parts that help the cleaning of it. The release button is on the top of the handle and it’s pretty easy to press it, though I have some troubles due to my long nails but that’s on me not on the design.
You will get instruction with the air fryer but if you are like me and go with your instinct, it’s very easy to use – just choose the type of product you will be cooking and the recommended timer will set up itself. You can increase the time by pressing the plus sign on the right from the LCD screen and the same change the temperature with + or – that are on the left from the screen.
I have cooked a few dishes using the fryer that included some chicken tights, grilled veggies and made chicken in breadcrumbs to see how it would taste without being deep-fried. Please note I did add some oil to my dishes as I didn’t want them to be completely dry.
I did cook the meat longer than it was recommended as I wanted to make sure it was done all the way through. The important thing is to make sure that all the food you are cooking is spread in the tray as if you clump it in one spot |(like I did with my chicken tights you will end up with having to cook the food longer for sure.
Now in general I am happy with the food that came out of the fryer, but I did find the meat dry and that’s decently not something that I like.
I really liked the veggies for sure and I find it very convenient to be able to cook all in one spot in a pot that is easy to clean, but honestly I feel like I will stick with my oven as I will have the same effects and I know my electric bill will not be over the top.
All in all its a good equipment and yes you defiantly can cook healthier options of food in it, but as soon as you are not worried about dry foods or high electric bills, it will be a good choice for you.

You can fry things without using oil, but...

I LOVE this machine. Shortly after it arrived, my cooker broke down and this thing saved my life. It’s huge 7.5L capacity is perfect for a family (or just a hungry dude) and cooks everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, to perfection. We’ve cooked a roast chicken, sausages, bacon, a cake, rice, roast potatoes, steak and chips. Not one thing has come out bad. It’s really easy to clean because it’s truly non-stick, for both the tray and the basket and then once clean, put it back in the air fryer, turn on the pre-heat setting and it’ll dry itself! LOVE LOVE LOVE this air fryer.

    Awesome piece of machinery

This no-name air fryer seems to work, though I’m not sold on air frying as a means of cooking.

I tried cooking several different things – with varying degrees of success. Doughnuts were the first, managing to heat them and turn them brown, not a bad first attempt, issues were more with my recipe. Secondly, I had some spring rolls in the freezer than needed deep frying, which I bought by mistake – I generally don’t use a deep fat fryer, so this seemed ideal. I brushed them with a little oil, and put them in the air fryer basket, not bothering to defrost them. They actually turned out quite well, not as crispy as if I’d bought it from a take-away, but quite good with a sweet and sour dish.

I had mixed results with air fryer sweet potato fries, I had to cut them really fine and coat them in oil/garlic/paprika and they didn’t really get crispy after cooking at 200c for 12 minutes or so – they were going very brown at the edges, but just remained floppy. They were still edible, so again perhaps the fault was my prep. My main problem with these was the amount of oil vapour being ejected into the kitchen – everything smells the next morning and I had the windows open for hours afterwards. For that reason alone, I won’t be doing fries of any sort in this.

It’s quite easy to use – setting temperature and cooking time then press the triangle/arrow shaped ‘go’ button. You can pull out the drawer and check on how the food looks, then close the drawer and it will carry on cooking. There are also lots of presets for different foods if you are confident with air frying.
The only issue I had with controls was it’s easy to press the cancel/stop button as it’s below the ‘go’ button, which clears your programme.

The frying drawers are easy to clean, they survived the dishwasher – there’s a button to detach the tray from the basket, which drops the tray from the basket – do this on the worktop, I dented the tray, dropping it on my foot the first time.

It’s quite a large device, and compared to others on the market, perhaps a little pricey for something with no branding; but it looks ok in brushed aluminium.

This airfryer has a huge square basket that holds a lot of food. Airfryer is very easy to clean and super easy to use. Nice touch screen and overall design. Don’t need any oils so food is healthier and really tasty. I love crispy chips, also I can fry a whole chicken, grill salmon or vegetables. It takes a lot less time than oven, so you can save your time. Now I cannot imagine my cooking without airfryer. This air fryer cooks so quickly and perfectly, I’m using it almost every day.

This is my first ever Air fryer and I confess – I have been converted to them by this product! I have been very impressed with it – its stylish, solid, easy to use, and and cooks food superbly. Why on earth did I not get one sooner?

The air fryer looks superb in the silver with black trim and backlight on the display when in use easy to see too which a range of colours to help keep track of the different functions / cooking times / heat etc . The fryer has touch screen control which is very responsive and 10 different cook modes including fish, meat, chicken, chips, cake and bread. The air fryer also comes with an instruction manual which gives advice and cook times for a range of products to held you get up and running in no time.

The air fryer has a very large capacity drawer / basket which, is very easy to remove and clean and is not too heavy either, giving it further easy of use. The drawer holds 7.5 litres, which is a very, very large portion of chips, or as I have found, can easily hold 6 large chicken breasts. This makes it ideal for family cooking, and the cook times in the air fryer are a lot quicker than a conventional oven too.

The idea of oil-less cooking, and cooking foods quicker should see improvements in both my fuel bill and saturated fat levels, but so far its too early yo tell if this is the case. However, what I am sure of is that this product is very easy to set up and use, and cooks food very quickly indeed without the need of oil!

    I would certainly recommend it!

I saw an article in air fryers on TV a few months back and to be honest until I saw that program I didn’t know what air fryer was a for its advantages. It seemed a good kitchen machine add so I got one.

The Air fryer is delivered in a massive box which gives you an idea that it is big and heavy. It isn’t. Whilst it isn’t the smallest kitchen accessory it stays on the worktop and looks ok.

The air fryer comes with a small manual and several warnings on the fryer regarding hot areas and to remove all the plastic and internal cardboard and recommends you wash it through before use, which I did.

Same it wasn’t’t that clear how to remove the basket but after a while I figured out you gust give it a pull to remove it and the inner basket can be removed by moving thee transparentt button cover away and pushing the button down to lift the basket out.

The digital display is very easy to follow and there are several programmes for cooking from muffins (I never knew you could use an air fryer to cook cake, to stack, fish, chicken and vegetables.

However I chose initially to cook frozen calamari and the new potatoes. Regrettably the air fryer doesn’t come with a recipe book, so I bought one from Amazon (review to follow).

Again, being a novice, it took a while to work out how to pre-heat the air fryer but after several references to the small manual I got it. Pre heated the air fryer for 3 minutes then place the squid in the basket (try not to tough the sides or you will burn) and place each piece apart to help cook. No oil needs and then after it bleeps after 8 minutes cooking I had crips calamari.

I also tried new potatoes – maybe I should have cooked these longer but these did need a bit of oil.

The advantages are it is quicker to cook and faster to heat up then a normal cooker and I am pretty impressed wit the results.

    The next best kitchen tool!

I liked this in general. It lacks some of the more “advanced” features you’d get on some air-fryers such as preheating and turn-at-halfway options, but it’s not hugely expensive and the food basket is quite large. I tested it by roasting a whole 2kg chicken (30 minutes at 180C, turn over, another 35 minutes), and it turned out fine. The only potential weak point is the basket handle, which looks like it’s carrying a good amount of weight unless you detach it from the outer metal sleeve (there’s a button for this). Without the advanced features, however, it’s more for someone who’s used air fryers before – in my experience, using the presets will result in charcoal for dinner, and no-one really wants to incinerate their chow.

The fryer is VERY easy to use, it’s got a very easy to follow touch screen display. I love salt and pepper chips, they’re frozen and I usually oven bake them, taking around half an hour!. In the fryer, they took only 15 minutes and were perfectly cooked through, fluffy inside and crispy outside I had not realised how much of the seasoning was lost during oven baking, these were so much tastier! It’s easy to clean afterwards, just let it cool and then simply wash the basket with a soft sponge/ cloth and soapy water. I can’t believe how easy it is to use, the only thing now is…. What to cook next! This is an excellent aid to family meal times, just pop the food in whilst you’re getting everything else done and hey presto! Perfect healthy AND tasty food! Worth every penny!! They make great jacket potatoes too. And of course it saves on fuel bills as you’re not heating up a large oven…just a small compact space.

This air fryer is amazing once you get the hang of it.
It looks really nice and is a nice size to keep on the countertop but also light enough than you can slide it away in a cupboard if you have the space. The front is very smart looking with the digital touch screen on the top and the drawer handle and opening below. I like how clear the screen is to read and easy to use with its one button to select the cook method.
The drawer is a huge 7.5l so if needed you could fit a good 6l of food in it with ease while I like the basket being the same shape so you can get more in it plus this part is dishwasher safe, the main drawer isn’t but usually just a quick soapy clean inside is all it takes.
Heat up times are good and quick but will depend on what food you are cooking and I like the fact its cooking food in a healthy way, just took a bit of time to keep some meats from getting dry and chips from becoming a too crispy but now I have mastered those it’s been so easy to use. One suggestion I would like to make is a divider in the drawer in case you are cooking two different things that need the same settings.
Overall, at 119.99 it’s not bad value for money and does look very smart so I am happy with it.

    Love this little machine
