Great keyboard.
Simple, elegant, very high quality, comes with 2 cables and the switches are no joke.
Got it to keep quiet at home and the office, got what was advertised.
As I wrote in the title of this review, this is my second mechanical keyboard by Durgod. My first one has the very same design and layout, but it’s the non-backlit White key-caps model with the ‘Clicky’ Tactile Blue key switches, which are the NOISIEST Cherry MX keys you can find; at the time when these keyboards came out I wanted the old school classic ‘clicky’ sound when typing. But as the time went by it became irritating, which led me to begin considering a less noisy model. And of course, I came back to check Durgod’s new models as since I purchased my first one, many new Cherry MX keys came out, each with a different color switches that represent specific features, along with the pros and cons which altogether is a matter of taste. And the reason I didn’t look elsewhere is because the Durgod keyboards are built like a TANK! You will justify the high price you paid for the moment you hold their heavy keyboards in your hands. So you pay for a very good quality.
When I checked the available keyboards I first wanted a less noisy typing experience, but I still wanted to have enough feedback from the keys when typing. Then I saw that there is a standard backlit model with white backlit light, and a RGB model that really got my attention, as you can basically change the backlit color to whatever color you like, and even to save and load color presets to your liking.
The RGB backlit model comes in black key-caps while the surrounding frame of the keyboard is a mixture of black with a slight of red which I didn’t see in the pictures — I expected a pure black color, but it looks good anyway. The Cherry MX switches options for this RGB model are Black, Blue and Brown. From all the three the Brown keys are the most popular amongst gamers as far as I read and watched online, as they’re not too noisy, but still gives the user the right tactile feedback when pressing on them.
Attached to this review a bunch of pictures I took of my old Durgod keyboard (white) and the current RGB backlit model for visual comparison.
As you can see, both keyboards look alike and are in the same measurements and height. But the backlit model has shorter key-caps which makes the bottom of the keys to look more ‘exposed’. While some users would prefer longer key-caps, the reason these are shorter is in order to reveal the light that comes from below the key-caps, which surrounds each key with a stroke of light. If the key-caps were longer then less light would have shine around them.
Packaging thoughts:
Amazon sure knows how to pack expensive products. Thanks Amazon!
Box content:
– USB Type-C to Type-C cable
– USB Type-C to Type-A cable
– Key-caps lifter to take the key-caps off for cleaning or for replacing
– Keyboard plastic protecting cover when not in use (highly recommend to keep dust away!)
– Booklet
– Cable management scotch
– Coaster(?) 🙂
Typing thoughts:
Honestly, I’m typing this review with this keyboard and it both feels great and sounds great! I even feel that I’m typing with less effort, that the keyboard gives me just the right tactile feedback, and the sound of typing isn’t irritating to the ears since it’s only Tactile and not ‘Clicky Tictle’ like the Blue switches. I just love this keyboard and very pleased that I picked this model!
Looking thoughts:
Having a keyboard with white backlit light is great. But having RGB backlit light is even better! And the reason is because you can change the light color to your liking. I have a laptop with a white backlit keyboard and found that the white light is less convenient to the eyes when working in the dark. With this keyboard however I changed the light color to orange/yellowish, which feels much more pleasant to the eyes in my opinion. There’s a preset of a single backlit color, and you can press Fn+Pause and see all the available colors to pick from. I don’t need anything fancy with multiple colors. Just having the option to select a color hue to my taste worth everything.
Bottom line:
I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone. But if you’re struggling to decide which Cherry MX switches to pick, I highly recommend you to watch the “Cherry MX Switch Comparison” by ‘KeyMouse’ on YouTube. The guy made a very informative video showing the differences of all the Cherry MX key switches, giving you an idea of how they both behave and sound. Keep in mind thought that not all key switches are available for the backlit models. So I think that the Brown switches are the best choice between tactile feel and not-noisy typing experience.
Beautiful keyboard
Was worried it was gonna be to quiet but the clack still gives you good feeback in each click
This keyboard is a dream to use, I love it.
This keyboard looks and feels super nice. If you don’t need a RGB circus as part of your keyboard, this one is great. I got the white version with Cherry MX silent keys. I’d been looking for a good Cherry MX silent option when my Corsair that also had MX silent started double typing on a couple of keys. The keystrokes are super smooth and super quiet.
The overall look of the keyboard is clean, and it just feels solid. The rubber pads on the bottom are of good quality, and the adjustable height seems solid and not flimsy. I also appreciated the ability to get a keyboard with a number pad as well (K310 has number pad, K320 version is basically the same thing without number pad).
The USB-C cable that comes with it fits snugly and efficiently into the bottom of the keyboard to connect. Recommend!
Keyboard works. Sometimes the keys ‘get stuck’. I have it connected to a hub. When attached to my work computer, I need to directly connect the keyboard to the work PC or the keys randomly stick and fill the field with characters. My home PC (10 years old) works with the hub.
Had it for two months now. No issues. Solid, durable, feels great.
Great keyboard at an amazing value. I needed a full size keyboard for work again and the durgod fit the bill. Stabilizers are great on this keyboard!
This keyboard is subjectively perfect for me, does everything right and I’ll absolutely buy it again.
Excellent minimalistic design with no extra border space containing macro keys or volume rollers.
Like other premium gaming boards, this one also has 1000Hz poll rate.
There’s no USB passthrough but it does have an aluminum body which is a nice high-end feature.
Really good onboard RGB options including static color but for per-key RGB layers you need their Zeus Engine utility which is simple yet thorough with a small footprint and no bloatware.
Setting a static color with the hard keys is a little odd but doable:
Enter the Nebula Spectrum mode and press Fn + Pause and the keys light up in a palette of colors from which you choose the single, static color you want for all keys.
Local memory can store 1 complex RGB profile and the app does NOT have to be running afterward.
The Zeus app may not be flashy but it does exactly what I need for per-key RGB and stores it permanently in local memory.
Hardware-wise, typing is a joy and the Cherry MX brown switches I have feel great and sturdy with no ghosting or bounce.
For me, it’s the perfect keyboard and deserves 6 stars.
I always loved videogame keyboards, I had a super fancy Roccat keyboard before this one and I was in love with it. That keyboard still works well after 10 years but I had to go overseas for work and had to buy a new keyboard there. I am madly in love with this silent red switch and with the touch of its keys. I have tested it in the office where I work to see if I got any complaints from my coworkers and all of them were impressed. The silent part delivers.
Now what I did not expect is that when I was briefly back home with my beloved Roccat I actually missed the Durgod. Now, I have to say, it is not that I was unpleased with the Roccat, is just there was something about the sound and the feeling of pressing the keys that were missing. I don’t know what it is but there is something about this Durgod keyboard that impulses me to type type type nonstop.
When reading reviews, be aware that mechanical keyboard experiences vary wildly from one switch to another and that subjective experience plays a great deal. Consider what cherry switch you are coming from (if you had any prior mechanical keyboards) and think about what you like/dislike the most about it, then find the reviews that touch on those specific aspects and make your choice.
My Roccat is a cherry brown keyboard and I decided to purchase this one mainly because I was looking for a silent mechanical keyboard for the workspace. I am super happy with it. Probably if you are looking for keyboards with crazy macros and so on this is not the one as I can tell you my Roccat, even if its 10 years old, beats this one in that regard like there is no contest between the two. Always know what you are buying and what you want it for. That being said if you want it for some gaming that does not require macros, it will be the perfect fun/work keyboard mix.
As per the headline – the color is listed as Black but is actually ‘Space Purple’ according to the box. It’s very subtly purple, with a very slight shimmer to the finish. Close enough to black in my book, but it is not deep dark black, if that’s what you’re expecting. I actually like the purple.
I was very surprised by the weight of this thing, it is very solid, hefty. Neither a plus nor minus unless you count its value for personal defense.
It is very quiet, which is what I bought it for, to replace an old cherry blue keyboard that was too loud to use in conference calls while unmuted.
Getting used to linear switches is going to take some time, I think. There is a slightly mushy feel but I think that’s mostly me not being used to them yet. The enter key feels particularly so.
The lighting options are nice, and I like that I can program them without software. I haven’t tested them all out yet though.
I was not anticipating a difference in key spacing. I’m not sure if it’s the keycaps themselves or the actual spacing, and visually it looks the same as my old keyboard. But my hands were telling me there is a difference, and sure enough there is a 1/8″ difference in total space from left edge of ‘A’ to right edge of ‘L’ (narrower, compared to my old CM Storm Trigger SGK-6000-GKCL1).
Lastly, a minor quibble, and enhanced by the difference in feel that I will need to adjust to first- the locator moldings on F and J are very very low profile. Almost imperceptible to my fingers, but I don’t think will matter in the long term.
Not only do the Cherry MX Silent Red switches feel great, but the Durgod double shot key caps are top notch. The build quality seems solid and I like that it comes with a USB C cable. Other really good mechanical keyboard brands come with older cables (mini USB). This Durgod keyboard is a bit pricey but worth it.
A real artifact from a team that really values a good input products. Everybody around me is impressed with the quality of the material, the responsivity and the feel.
The color scheme is a huge benefit; I love the semi-old design. It is clear that the keyboard is really advanced and innovative, yet it is also reminiscent of the traditional, old IBM style keyboard.
Thoughts for future purchases: I would have loved to have the same keyboard with individual RGB lighting for each key.

This keyboard is everything I’ve needed my whole life behind a desktop. I’ve been on Apple keyboards like the Magic Keyboard and the Macbook pro laptop with the flat butterfly keys and man they stink no matter how cool they look. The keys feel great and sound great and the look is just classic. Also, I am not a fan of those ridiculous RGB keyboards. If you grew on classic keyboards with that retro look and want to get an updated one that just feels and looks like the real deal, look no further this is it. Typing on this thing is just a ton of fun… I never thought it’d bring me back to my younger years when I fell in love with computer and man corded keyboard is the way to go not to mention everything is bluetooth now. I’m done with Apple’s cosmetic beauty products. Give me more classic computer retro feels like the Durgod k310. Also, let this be proof the product I received was not a bootleg or a Chinese knock off which is what I was worried about at first. Not sure why it’s cheaper and available here and not on their website. Anyways thanks DG!
As long as you like Cherry Browns its a fantastic keyboard.
