It has a built in thermostat so automatically switches itself off when the required temperature is met. There is an app that you can use to remotely switch the unit on/off and adjust the temperature. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because you are supposed to be able to use it with Amazon Alexa but the skill doesn’t seem to exist within the Alexa app.

Looks sturdy and nice – warms up pretty quickly. Very easily connected it to the internet (shame only 2.4 ghz – not compatible with 5.0 ghz)

The only thing I can’t figure out is how to enable the Duux skill in the Alexa app. When I try to search, no results are returned. Anyone any idea how to? Thanks!

I have this slimeline electric heater placed in the spare bedroom where I use the desk to work from home. My morning routine is to turn this heater on in the room and then go down to make myself a cup of coffee. By the time I go back upstairs to start work (about 5 minutes), the room has heated up noticeably.

This is a slimeline heater really doesn’t take up much room, even though I have it freestanding rather than fixed to the wall. Attaching the metal legs to the heater is a simple process of screwing the 2 leg pieces to the bottom of the heater, and once both are on, the unit stands steady on the floor. It is light enough (when cooled down) to easily move to another room if required.

There is a plethora of ways to operate the heater — the buttons on the side, using the remote, from the downloaded app or via Alexa (account creation is required for the last two). The remote must be pointed at the control unit on the heater, but the app or Alexa can control it from anywhere in the house.

Using the app (which I used most) it is easy to control the temperature as well as the time that the heater is on. The timer is set by hours only, so needs to be turned off by yourself if you want it on for less than that.

Overall, a compact yet powerful enough heater to get a room warmed up quickly.
