We have a lovely large leather storage sofa, which cost a lot and has been ruined by doggy claws when our westie jumps up on it (see before photos). As these really do look awful, I was looking round for a repair solution. Have previously used leather repair spray, which though it looked good immediately after it was done and for a few days after, the scratch marks still came through again.
So when I saw this leather pair kit I was intrigued and decided to give it a go, and to my surprise it’s tuned out to be an easy solution that so far has worked very well, and all for a great value 15.99 for the kit. And what’s even better is that you get such a wide array of colours, with 12 base colours that can then be mixed to make up most,y any shade (see colour chart photo).
In the kit you receive the 12 base colours, one brush, two pads, a mending cloth, a small mixing tub with lid and a mixing spatula. At first I used the chestnut colour, but found it too dark, and the walnut colour I found too light, so I mixed them both together and found the perfect colour match. Initially applied with the brush, but found this a bit scratch, so used the spatula and then the pads and I found that worked well.
Once you’re set up and have your colour mixed, it takes no time to do for great results. I’m very happy with this set, it’s such great value, I’m going to use it to repair other leather bits in the house, including the tips of my black boots. The photos show the repair as much darker than it actually is btw! More than happy to recommend with 5 .
So I have cream colored sofa, and it was bit difficult to have same color, but it done the job quite well, and sofa looks much more better. Easy to use. All instructions in a leaflet. As english is my second language I needed to translate some words but other than that it was easy to understand.
So my cat decided to claw a smallish hole/scratch in my new leather sofa so I thought I would try to repair it myself.
The instructions are easy enough to follow but the main part is getting the mix correctly to the colour you require to make it blend in nicely.
Once I had done this I stuck in and gave it a try, the overall outcome is ok nothing amazing but its changed how the mark looked and hidden it more then it previously was.
A basic kit but does a fantastic job. I tried the black tube before, and it worked in hiding colour blemishes on my leather bag. This colour set is no different in quality. I used the white and brown to restore a leather side bag with deep ballpoint marks and they’re now gone with the bag looking as good as new.
The set doesn’t come with any instructions, so I’d recommend viewing a few YouTube videos before getting started if you’re a beginner. I’ve worked with similar repair kits before and found this very straightforward to use. All the colours have good consistency (slightly thick) and blend easily. They apply well with no dry blotches.
I apply a single coat and leave an hour to dry, then another coat and leave for 24 hours. I then apply a third coat and leave that 48 hours before using my bag. This made the restoration permanent and unaffected by wet weather.
I prefer using the sponge (or a cotton bud for small repairs) as it usually gives a smoother and more even surface than the brush. The stirring rod and mixing tank are a nifty plus for when blending multiple colours.
Great value for money. Once you get the colour exactly right (this is the difficult part), it could make anything leather look almost brand new. Would be happy to recommend.
Set was easy to use, I just had a problem to mix colours and make a perfect one and I made a bit darker then I should but it is not that bad especially that we wanted to throw away our sofa, I do have covers for seats anyway but I wanted to fix it as a hole was bigger every day. Set made great work, glued a hole perfectly
If you have ever seen videos of professionals repairing scuffed or chipped floorboards then will recognise that this leather repair uses the same method.
Mix up the correct colour/shade then slowly and lightly dap the colour in with the included sponge. It’s painstakingly slow but it will come together and the results are good.
However, the results are dependent on how well you got on with mixing the colours. This often is the hardness section that gets right.
You do get 12 colours to play with and with a bit of perseverance, you should get it right.
I used this on my scratches for my leather sofa and it worked well.
This set is perfect to repair small patches or scratches. Instructions are quite clear and you can also watch many videos of “how-to”. It is not 100% perfect, after the job is done you can see imperfections, but it definitely helps to make the look better. It includes 12 different colours which you can mix. Good repair set to have.
This kit comes with a range of leather dyes plus mixing pot, brush, sponges and cloth. It’s easy to mix the dyes to get the correct colour match (I’ve used it on brown, light black and green furniture) and it’s been very good on all of them.
It’s easy to just dab the dye into cracks and scratches and work it on, wiping off excess to give invisible repairs. It’s made my car seats look particularly new.
This leather repair kit is supplied in a branded box containing the following; 12 different colour paints , a mixing cup, 2 sponges, brush, a cloth and instructions with a colour mixing chart. I ordered it to repair repair a small tear on the centre console leather cover inside my classic sport car.
Take your time to mix the colours to make them match, I had a few goes at this but finally managed a good match. When mixed apply and blend it in with the sponges, work carefully as it does dry quite quickly so I applied a few thin coats rather than one thick one.
I was happy with the results and if there are any long term issues I will update this review. This kit is effective if used carefully and can be used a number of times. It is good value and can save a lot of money if you are happy to undertake this type of repair yourself.
I have used to repair my leather shoes. It is so easy to use. This kit set come with everything I need. It has a lot of colour to help you match your produce. I just follow the instructions, it is very easy. I am happy with the result. It save my leather shoes. Worked good for me. Thanks
This leather repair kit is good. It contains a lot of different colours to enable you to colour match to the item. You get a little pot, brush and sponges.
I used this on a pair of school shoes which have been badly scuffed and where shoe polish never holds for long. I gently applied the colour with the brush and left it to dry.
I have noticed a few things to bear in mind:
1. The brush is okay but not perfect for detailed work. I will use a smaller brush to repair the corner of my handbag for example.
2. For items that have a smooth texture, you will need a tool to help smooth the coloured glue because if you use the brush provided you will end up with quite a textured surface which might not be what you want.
3. Start with a thin layer and build up, on the shoes I know I need to add a second layer and then smooth it. A small flexible plastic spatula should work.
I am pleased with this kit. Make sure to patch test first too.
This kit come with everything you need to repair leather goods. The colour samples cover all possible colours of leather and the instructions are very easy to follow. It’s a bit pricey but you get a good kit. I suppose if you had more than one repair it would be worth the price.
I got this Endhokn Leather Repair Kit to try to repair the damage from constant wear on my leather driver’s car seat. The car seat is a cream colour, so I tried using the cream coloured tube from the kit, however it came out a bit more yellow than seat leather, so I mixed it with white and a drop of brown to better match the seat colour. There are 12 colours in the kit but it also comes with a colour match sheet to help you to mix the colours together to get the colour you need. There is also a small pot to mix it in, a spatula to apply it, a couple of sponges and a cloth to smooth it. The tubes contain what seems like resin which you apply to the leather with the spatula. You need to be fairly quick and confident because it dries fairly quickly. Smooth it gently with the sponge which has a soft side and a hard side. Then let it dry completely and polish it with the cloth. I’m not sure you could use this kit to fix extensive damage, but I’m very happy with the finished result on my car seat and the repair feels hard wearing and flexible so it won’t rub off. A great kit for fixing small or moderate leather problems which I’m very happy with.
Let me start the review by saying, i have never repaired leather before, nor do i know how to, i had to learn how to do it with this kit.
In the kit you get pretty much everything you need, 12 different colour paints you can mix and match if needed, a mixing pot, 2 sponges,2 brushes and a cloth.
For my use it worked well, all i needed it for was to repair some small cracks on my car leather seats, it was only minor and light damage from 9 years of use.
I had to look up a few youtube videos on how to do it, as i said before, i have no experience in this matter and even i did a decent job at repairing those cracks in my seat.
by far the hardest part was to mix the colours to make them match, technically the colour name of the leather i have is chestnut brown, whatever that means i had to mix for quite a while until i had a colour that resembled it once applied and dried.
Once mixed, it was easy enough to apply and make it blend in, may take a while with sponge work but soon enough it will get there.
It’s still early to tell how long this will last, but so far i’m impressed with the results, i don’t know how well it would work on major damage repair, but for small cracks it certainly worked well.
I have used it to repair my bicycle’s leather grips on my handlebars.
Unlike other people, I did not have to mix the colours to match since I wanted to change the colour from blue to black, so I coated the whole grip twice.
I had a few scuffs and peeled bits, but it filled them in nicely and changed the colour to a much more eye-appealing black.
So far, they have not rubbed off at all, which is quite surprising since they are bicycle grips and are constantly rubbed. Maybe in a few weeks it will be different.
You receive a variety of colours to mix into the colour you need, and I’ll be trying this out later on because I want to try restoring some leather belts, but judging from the reviews it may be challenging.
In my case, it has done exactly what I needed, so I have no complaints.
