The product is easy to use and can be seen in historic houses, which illustrates its reputation. My experience is that it is very effective and does attract and destroy moths.

These actually work! After trying different products to get rid of the moths, I gave these a go and love them! Not had problems for ages now! Well worth a try!

Bought this for my son as he had an infestation of moths in his apartment. Hung these pads in the wardrobes and around the apartment and he reported that the moths were all gone in 24-48 hours. It’s worth checking on the Entopest website as these pads are designed to target clothes moths and are not effective against some moth types. The website has useful information and photos to help you identify what type of moth/insect you are having problems with.

    It works,
I change the traps every 3-4 months and it helps.
Getting rid of moths is unfortunately very hard so at least I can make sure my clothes are protected with these traps ( and clothes cover for delicate items!)

Prompt service of an excellent product. Easy to assemble traps and within a couple of days they indicated that we were finally getting to grips with the dreaded jumper-munchers. Have thoroughly recommended this product to friends.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe foolishly bought a wool carpet totally unaware of carpet moths… and they’re having a right old feast in our living room (the rest of the house does not have wool carpets thankfully). This is a really good product, definitely attracts the moths and catches them however the bigger issue is the lavae which obviously won’t go to this. We tried the spray too but they still come back and I think the only way to get rid of these pest permanently is to trash the carpet… but right now that’s not top of our list so keep using these little traps in the meantime!

    1. I can’t believe how fast it arrived! Maybe just my lucky timing, but Amazon delivered it approx 12 hours after ordering!
    2. Entopest was extremely professional and customer-focussed in emailing me additional information (that it only works on clothes moths, and to make sure you identify the species first) prior to delivery, with the option of cancelling the order if in any doubt.
    3. Good value for money with the refill pads included.
    4. Excellent usage instructions & advice enclosed, and all very easy to assemble.

I’ve yet to see if the traps are effective, but so far I’m extremely impressed by Entopest’s customer service. They seem to’ve thought of everything.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI had bad moth infestation eating the wool bedroom carpet in 3 rooms, and was paranoid about the little blighters getting into my cashmere clothing so took a 3 pronged approach. I put all my wool and cashmere into plastic boxes, I added moth killer sachet to each box, I sprayed the back of the wardrobe doors with moth killer aerosol spray, and I hung these sticky moth catchers around the room. I also vacuumed thoroughly and moved furniture where they have eaten the carpet. Fingers crossed but I haven’t seen a live moth for several months, and previously they were fluttering about all year round. With the moth breeding season starting in March I am more vigilant. These sticky moth catchers aren’t very attractive but they work as I have previously caught loads of moths and hoping my repeat purchase doesn’t catch any as it will indicate they have been eradicated! I believe the eggs can hatch after many months so important not to become complacent.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEasy to assemble and position. When I first checked these traps, after a few days, they hadn’t caught a thing and I thought about returning them… HOWEVER, a couple of weeks later I checked again and the traps were covered in the little beggars! They don’t smell, look fairly inconspicuous and attract the enemy on droves – very good!

Have had for quite a while and only 4 casualties. Have caught more by previous methods of spraying (probably not healthy) and whacking when they actually stay put.
Feel I should add a fourth star after all. I put a couple in a different room, which I had only been spraying, and had quite a quick and significant success. Clearly, although spotted mostly in one room, they were lurking in another.

These are so good I’ve bought more. They definitely work and despite instructions saying not recommended to use near windows I have 3 at the top of windows 2 in livingroom and 1 in bedroom as the pesky moths seem to like to hide under my roller blinds it seems to be a favourite place for them however since I put these traps next to the top of the roller blinds I have seen a massive difference in less moths. I have a few trips in my hall next to my coat rack too and they also fo a great job.
Highly recommend very effective for a reasonable price and each trap last for about 3 months before needing changed.

Put 2 in the living area of my studio flat which had suddenly become home to an awful lot of moths. After about 7 days they started landing on them. I gave up counting when it got to 30 little dead moths. I only see a few in my room now which is the “normal” amount I have and who knows they may fall victim soon. Really good product, highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have these placed around upstairs, as I’ve recently seen small moths flying about.
I’m still seeing moths, but I also have a few caught on the traps. I know the traps are only for a particular moth, so I guess the ones I’m still seeing are different. At least some of the little devils are out of circulation.

Kept seeing 1-2 moths a day, got sick of swatting at them for a month. Got the ‘Zero In’ spray, which turned out to be useless. I bought this glue trap and it caught a dozen in a few days. I’m glad it works (still need to swat a few), but I just hope it’s not attracting more moths from outside.

I counted 19 moths on one of my most successful strips but few on all the others. But the money saved in ruined clothes is well worth the cost of the strips. This is the third batch I have bought because they do catch moths but the pheromone evapourates so they need replacing occasionally.

I wish I had bought these when we first moved into this apartment, where moths feed off of the carpet and nothing else worked on them. As per title, straight out of the Amazon box the moth catchers started working – I had 2 – 3 moths fly over to me as I was putting them together. After a week or so with 5 catchers set up, they had caught dozens of moths. Note these work by releasing pheromones to attract the male moths and prevent reproduction. So some moths will actually be repelled by the catchers, the female ones. Then as you catch all the males, nature takes its course. Mwah ha ha.

Worked really well to help rid me of my clothes moth issue. I combined this with zipping away all my wool clothes in clothes bags to limit the next generation and killing any on site with insecticide spray. Numbers are way down now. Bear in mind it only attracts the male’s so it won’t work on every moth but as you can see if you put them in a high traffic area after a few weeks you will get a lot of success. Will be buying again once my refil runs ou

    Works really well

These glue traps are really effective at attracting moths. We had a real infestation a few months back and though it took some time to catch the first moths, the moth population in the house has decreased considerably. I would recommend these over any of the scented mothballs which didn’t seem to deter these pesky critters.

These are very effective at catching moths that would otherwise be nibbling your jumpers! I was surprised by the number loitering near our attic (we need a new roof), but the evidence is plain to see on the traps. Thankfully there are now far less roaming the house. I will keep using these – thank you!

  35. Anonymous says:

Does absolutely attract and trap male clothes moths. You just have to remember that it only attracts male moths – so you still have egg-laying female moths flying around freely that you’ll need to exterminate using other methods (e.g. spraying carpets). So these traps are more of an indicator of infestation but I’m sure it helps bring the overall population down as it reduces number of males that can mate with females.

My heart sank when I moved into a house with ‘the odd moth fluttering about’ aka a major infestation. I couldn’t afford professional help. I used these (two in every room) and I also sprayed or splatted every moth I saw, as soon as I saw it. I checked skirtings and covings morning and night. I also did a lot of vacuuming and I put my knitwear in plastic bags. Now, three months later, I’m cautiously optimistic as I haven’t seen a moth for a few days. These sticky pads were thickly coated with moths. Disgusting but pleasing. I think the pheromones broke the breeding cycle. I’ve just renewed them all and I hope they continue to protect us into the Autumn. Fingers crossed.

I’ve been using these for the best part of a year. Placed in various locations. It’s incredible how many it moths end up trapped on them.
I am hoping to eventually replace the carpet in question as this problem has gone on for a few years and it’s not worth the battle. I’ll definitely be avoiding any wool in the carpet.

Neat little units easy to assemble As far as being effective???? I haven’t caught any moths so far and can’t imagine there haven’t been any fluttering about so can’t say if it works at all! I suspect like so many such items nowadays that the banning of so many substances that actually do work has made it difficult to find truly effective solutions to creepy crawlies and flying insects in the home I will add to this if I find any evidence in the traps that would prove they do work!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWell, they definitely work to catch the male moths as you can see. Unfortunately a few months on I had another glut of them, so I guess these work well but maybe as part of an extermination regime rather than on their own as I think there will still be eggs and/or females laying eggs, being between 100 and 400 eggs over a life span. Sadly I didn’t find the actual source right away, being my beautiful thick Chinese rug. They have totally destroyed it along the edge under the sofa and also spread to the upstairs carpets. Never seen anything like it. Must admit I was a bit shocked and surprised at how many moths these traps caught as you really don’t see that many flying about. I purchased the traps a second time and have now added a strong spray killer and have also ordered the sachets to place just under hidden rug edge and under bed upstairs. Looks like I will be forking out for new rug and carpet, bloomin things!

Like all uninvited house guests, when they arrive, they are with you to stay. Moths that is!

I have found that I need smoke bombs, as well as spraying areas that seem high risk. But a few moths seem to persist. These traps help me to monitor where in the house are the high risk areas. So that I can then identify which bits of carpet are infested.

This year the Moths appeared late April and 95% was this variety Monopis Obviella.

We have a three-storey house with a wide range of woollen products in it. We had the first signs of moth infestation and used a number of “folklore”remedies, to no avail. We came across the Entopest product range through Amazon. We used the pheromone traps and perfumed wardrobe hanging deterrents and clothe drawers inserts. We have just ordered our second set of products. There have been no signs of another infestation but the usual summer arrival of moths has shown in the pheromone traps. The lavender perfume of the wardrobe hanging deterrents and drawer inserts makes the clothing smell pleasantly fresh

I deployed 3 in different rooms to see if I could pinpoint the source, and it caught one within 2h of putting it flat on the ground (like another review suggested). I was pretty surprised how effective it was, within a few days, I had caught about 6 in total.

But after that success, I’ve still been seeing about a moth a day not in the trap, I don’t know if they’ve caught on (maybe the moth’s dying words?!) but they’re not being trapped after week, though they do linger around the areas.

I even tried to open a fresh trap to see if that would help (maybe the efficacy reduces?) but it didn’t catch anything new. I even tested putting a trap OVER a moth to see if it would stick on, but it just flew away after reacting a bit violently. In hindsight, I should’ve just removed the case before I did that to make sure the damn thing stuck on… but it fled successfully.

EDIT: The same day I wrote this, the trap caught 2 in one night. So it must’ve been just a lapse in breeding cycle maybe..?
    EDIT2: 4 months on, they’ve caught 150 moths collectively… got about 4 strips left.

These do what they say they will, attract the the female moths and so are a good supplement to as also being watchful and hoovering away the males when they emerge and sit on a wall surface, (usuaily in the evenings, within about 5 minutes of a light being switched on). Removing clutter which creates dusty concealed spaces is also essential. This is the second batch if these strips we have used and they do literally trap hundreds of moths over a period!

This is a very effective and easy to use product if you have a problem with moths.

First you open the clear plastic case and then open the pack of moth pheromone refill pads and remove one. Peel off the film to leave the sticky side facing up and slot it into the plastic holder and close the flap over.

There is a useful hanger at the top of the plastic case so it can be easily hung in a wardrobe.
They can also be left free standing against skirting boards or anywhere.
The first refill I removed was covered in moths, but now there’s no activity now.

A good way to check if the infestation has ended would be to leave a few of these around as a preventative measure.

A Great Product which Really Works

Easy to put together although some of the sticky stuff stuck to my fingers and some moths came flying towards me!! It was easy washed off though! As soon as I assembled these, moths started landing on them. I didn’t realise how many moths I had in my home, I kept seeing them, I was afraid of having an infestation so I bought these to try and curb it. However, the next morning the traps had caught over 60 months, mostly in my bedroom so I then realised I did have an infestation and where it was coming from. A few days later and The traps had caught over a hundred. I then decided to purchase moth killing spray too and while I waited for it to arrive, I cleared out my bedroom drawers as this is where the problem was- clothes I’d bought ages ago but never worn. I binned loads and washed some and I vacuumed out my drawers to get rid of any larvae or female moths. The traps only attract males which stops them mating and producing more moths which is good but as I had a bigger problem than I expected, I wanted to eliminate the lot immediately. The traps were great as they shown me where the problem was coming from and how bad it was. Although now I have cleared out my furniture and sprayed moth killer, I still have the traps out to catch any odd moths that may have been elsewhere when I blitzed the place. I would definitely recommend them but I would also recommend that if you have quite a few moths, using the traps must be teamed with washing all clothes, vacuuming everything and spraying it and using moth repellant sachets too. I believe that using the traps all the time will be very preventative of having the odd moth turning into an infestation.

Well, this pheromone trap absolutely works! Just make sure you identified the correct moth type, because it really works wonders for attracting and killing the golden carpet moth. The photo I took speaks for itself.

Upon placing the traps around the carpeted room (which had been suffering from moths for a while), there was a flurry of activity as the adult moths crawled out from their hidey holes to get to the trap. So don’t be alarmed if you see increased moth presence initially; it’s just the (male) moths searching for the pheromone.

After a couple of days, the results were astonishing! All the male moths is the room were clustered around the traps, most of them already stuck and dead, while the others were easy to kill while I was changing the glue board inside the traps. I recommend changing it every 10 days or so for a serious infestation at the start; you can then reduce the number and frequency of the traps as the population of the moths noticeably dwindles.

We still get a few flyers here and there, but their numbers have significantly fallen to the point of being a passing nuisance rather than a full-blown infestation. I’m planning on trying the carpet spray next, in the hopes of getting rid of them in their larvae phase too. But this trap kit is definitely effective, and a great tool for managing a carpet moth problem!

The picture speaks for itself - definitely works!

After only a few days of use, these things become moth GRAVEYARDS. It is both satisfying and horrifying to behold. We get a lot of moths coming in through the window in the evenings and I don’t like to be without fresh air, so these traps are a must.

I keep one in each cupboard as well as some around the room. If you’re using these traps in an open space like a bedroom, I have found the best placement tends to be in darker corners. I watched to see where the moths liked to land normally and put the traps there. My most effective spot has been behind a side table.

Will have to repurchase soon – they’re filling up fast! Highly recommend.

In 1 week, i must have caught over 150 clothes morhs. My clothes are safe again. I also use a spray for the carpets to prevent the females laying or killing eggs. These sticky traps only catch the males…but the 100% work and fast. Do wear gloves when assembling as things could get sticky if you have chunky fingers like me

This product is advertised as attracting a specific strain of moth. Thus far I used Acana pheromone which attracts large numbers of moths, but some still fly around with impunity. Some of the Entopest traps have killed moths and it might be these are the strain not attracted to Acana – who knows? But it is worth splashing out on these moths traps to try to avoid expensive damage to clothes and carpets.

I bought these as a last resort. I am having a real problem with two varieties of cloth moths this year, I was chasing upto 15 per night, or should I say the cats we’re. I also use moth sachets which work well initially. Personally I do not like any type of glue trap but it had gotten to the point where enough was enough.
The traps are really easy to assemble, just make sure you have the bottom folded in. The traps themselves are stick to handle so be careful but one they are in the cases it is fine.
It is a bit hit and miss at first as you have to find the ideal spot for laying these traps. Two of mine caught 8 moths in one night and the remaining three were still empty, until I moved them.
They work better lying flat rather then upright. Places I have found to be good locations are: under the sofa, under the bed, underneath any units or cabinets. These locations catch lot’s in literally days. I am surprised how well they have worked.

Bought these to “seal the deal” after first treating my carpet with spray. Both the traps I put out caught one moth each in the first week so they do work and I picked the right species apparently. Hopefully will catch any survivors from the poison. One star taken off the rating as the box very clearly says MOTH KILLER on the outside… the parcel was picked up by my landlord who then needed to be reassured we only had a minor infestation, this could have been avoided with more discreet packaging…

Within a few minutes of putting these out the moths came. They have been down for a couple of weeks now and i’m very happy with the results. They do, unfortunately, also catch the odd spider but i’m amazed at how many moths are in the traps. I have taken 1 star off for assembly but only because the pads are so sticky I ended up getting my fingers stuck several times as I was putting the sticky pads in. Having read the reviews I decided to lay them flat – on floors, cupboards etc – rather than hang them and it has produced good results. I’m hoping that this will help to finally resolve the moth problem. 2 days after they arrived I recommended them to a neighbour and ending up ordering more for her.

It’s summer time and with the recent hot weather, the windows are left open to let the cool air inside the house.

Unfortunately this also means the moths are running amok. Bought this to combat the issue. Left a few lying around the various rooms and to my surprise, it works. See attached pictures.

Only time will tell if it’s good long term and fully recommended. But so far, so good.

    Promising 1st week.

I bought this product as I have recently noticed an influx of very small moths in my home which was becoming really annoying.

I took a photo of the moth in question and sent it to the seller and the next day, I had a response confirming what I believed that the moth was a common clothes moth.

I decided to get this trap to monitor the situation so I can see if I’m likely to need to treat my home for an infestation of moths.

As soon as I set up the first trap, I already had a number of moths appearing, seemingly out of nowhere – it could have been a coincidence, but I’d like to think that it’s down to the product.

    Thanks very much!

This product works incredibly effectively and efficiently at dealing with clothes moths. I like the way that you can actually see that the moths have been caught (that seems like a horrible thing to say, but it does show that it works!). The only thing I didn’t like was that for some of the glue boards it was difficult to peel off the cover and I ended up getting some of the sticky stuff all over my fingers, and then my desk and my glasses, which was a bit of a pain. I wouldn’t let this put me off though and would definitely recommend the moth traps.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are brilliant!
I noticed a few moths coming out my wardrobe whenever I was looking for clothes, not often, maybe 1 in 10 times. so I bought some of these to be on the safe side. . I swear to god, as I was assembling them, about 3 moths appeared out of no where so they definitely are attracted to the smell of whatever it is.
It hadn’t even been 24 hours and one had stuck already. So I’ve put one in each wardrobe and I’ve ordered more.
I can’t believe how well these work.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWithin 24 hours l had a moth trapped!!! V v pleased. (That was despite spring cleaning the room for hours) Cassette is easy to put together. I found getting the papers into the cassette a bit awkward and found it easiest to peel off a bit of paper and hold the sticky bit within the plastic cassette. Adjust the paper by holding by the edges. I hope the Co will advise of what horrible pest l have. There were lots of casings under a bed on a 100% 50oz wool carpet. A few moths and lots of casings spotted and hoovered up all over the room, though mainly under the bed. Every piece of heavy furniture moved and hoovered under. Pictures moved and hoovered behind… casings even behind one picture. Spent all day hoovering and emptied and cleaned inside wardrobes in case. Live moths around were few and far between (maybe 6 or so) and they looked v v tiny. They hide in the darkest places, so a thorough cleaning is necessary. I will repeat the cleaning in 7 days and am checking for live moths 4 or 6 times a day. Found a moth in another bedroom so looks like spring clean again. When the moth is recognised by the company l will update the review to advise others what other products are recommended by the co. As an aside, strangely no damage seen on carpets (yet) and no damage seen on clothes (yet). Casings are white and look empty. Room was sons until covid19 meant shielding so son moved out. Maybe problem has been there a while..it was his responsibility to clean his own room
Updated 2 days later. Traps caught 5 moths. Casings appearing where there were none. Hoovered up around 7 live moths. Continuing to monitor.

Moth caught within 24 hours. Excellent produc

I woke up one morning and it looked as though a cat had been sick under the bedside chair. It was moth damage to the carpet, obvious, extensive and, it seemed, quite sudden. Hoovering, steam cleaning and spraying followed but the moth spread into every upstairs room, obviously having a taste for wooden carpet.
I tried these traps to check for activity really, I bought ten and they were quickly covered in male moths.
I lost interest in moths for bigger worries and when I thought about them again there was no room in the traps for more and no further damage. I changed the pads with the same result and have just changed them again. It’s hardly scientific but I think, if you get enough of them, these traps control the fertility of the clothes moth quite well. (These are clothes moths with a taste for carpet, not carpet moths proper).

When I first bought these, I didnt think much of them – killed more moths with a rolled up paper than these, but over time, they ahve proved to attract a lot of moths when located in certain places. So if you buy them, dont expect a pad full of moths in the first few days – but over the weeks and months they catch a lot.

One issue though is the traps with the break in the hanger element at the top, which means even a tiny knock can send them flying to the floor. Would be a hell of a lot better if the beak in the circle was much closer to the body of the case itself – they could then still be hung from hooks and clothes racks but be much more difficult to dislodge.

Initially the traps did not attract the moths so I contacted the seller. You need to be sure you have the correct type of moths – which I did. Then it depends where in the moths lifecycle you are as it attracts males. Within a couple of weeks the traps had moths in. I would also recommend using a moth killer spray if you have an infestation just to get it all under control .
Good product and does work. Thanks to the seller who was very quck replying to my questions and being very helpful

Excellent product. Moved home last year and changed all the carpets – except those lining two big cupboards, which it transpires had moths.
Never having had moths before I didn’t realise at first that they were clothes moths. We just kept seeing the odd one but frequently so decided we needed to take action and fathomed out that the original carpet might be the source.
The photograph shows the two pieces I put in the airing cupboard- and most of these were after only one day!
Put the others around the bedrooms and got the odd ones from there.
I am happy that we have found the source and this treatment is going to rid us of the moths.

    Results after 1 day.

Bought some of these towards the end of the ‘eating moth’ season last year having discovered quite a few damaged items as a result of an invasion. The traps did catch quite a few, although as it was (as I said) later in the season I don’t know how we will fare this year. I have just bought some more and will put them in place during the next few weeks, and hope for the best. I shall probably get some mothballs as well – belt and braces, as they say.

I thought I had a few clothes moths flitting about, but wasn’t sure. They are so tiny they are almost invisible. It is the grubs that do the damage. Thought it best to get some of these traps. They went together reasonably easily enough; sliding the adhesive coated card into the slot and then assembling it led to a mishap when the card slid out of the holder and stuck to my clothing. I was more diligent with the second one I assembled. So far nothing has been caught on the traps, but a friend of mine who bought some has had some success with catching clothes moths, so I believe they do work.

Kept seeing these tiny little moths flying around my house at increasing numbers over the past couple of months. Then saw an article on tv about them most possibly being clothes moths and one of the most effective ways of getting rid of them was by using these type of traps. I ordered immediately and they arrived the next day. I assembled them and left 2 downstairs and put the other 3 in bedrooms. Within 2 hours, 3 moths had been caught, then non until roughly the same time the following evening when other 4 were caught within a similar time span (6-9pm). Seems like these little pests become active (in my house) at a particular time. Nonetheless, it’s evident that these traps do work, so I would definitely recommend them.

I got a bunch of these for my mom’s new flat which has a moth infestation. We’ll be changing the carpet, but in the meantime I wanted to try and get it under control. As I opened the box and started to assemble my first trap, moths started flying at me! I hadn’t seen any around that morning- but they appeared as if by magic, drawn to the traps!! Within 30 minutes, all the traps had 5-15 moths stuck in them. They’ve been out for a week now, and I see a few more moths in the traps. I don’t know if they’ll last as long as advertised, but they certainly worked straight away and did what they were supposed to! The traps were easy to assemble, but you need to remember to fold up the bottom before sticking the sides down.

I must admit i bought this without reading the description properly. But shortly after, i got an unsolicited email from the vendor asking me to make sure it was for the right type of moth. After checking (with their help) it turned out it wasn’t, i have case baring clothes moths, but i decided to take a chance on it rather than return the item. I just put one trap up and i have caught 4 moths so far, so am now putting them up in other locations. I’m impressed with the customer care from this company, and the product is working for me to some extent even though i bought the wrong thing.

I’m ordering these traps again. Some more for myself and some for my neighbour who always has a clothes moth problem.
In less than a week I have trapped twenty moths on just two traps, one put in my bedroom and one in the bathroom. The others are empty so far and I will move them. In the previous days (pre-traps) I only squashed two moths in the bathroom. So how many more flew silently in and made themselves at home in my clothes etc. An uncomfortable question.
We use pheromone traps in the garden in our plum trees and these are proving just as successful.

Quality and product: Opening the packet, everything is sealed and a good quality, and the packet design is clear about how to use them. The holders themselves are super useful and easy to click together, and are much sturdier than I expected. The only slight issue was with the first pheromone pad that I pulled out- it was INSANELY difficult to separate the backing paper from the pad, enough that I was starting to wonder which part was even the backing paper. Would recommend wearing some latex gloves whilst handling, the glue is indeed very sticky (as expected) and hard to get off fingers.

How the moths felt: After recommendation from a colleague, who collected hundreds of carpet moths (case-bearing, the larvae are quite distinctive) very rapidly with these, we picked them up to deal with a room with a bad (>2year untreated) infestation in a rented house. Apart from the single moth that crawled into one on the floor by accident, none of them have been interested. The advice on this product does say that there are mixed results with these types of moth, so obviously they’re either very effective or not effective at all, and this wasn’t completely unexpected. Definitely worth a try if you have carpet moths, but don’t be surprised if nothing happens.

Bonus: the little card in the package came with great instructions and offers to help identify moths, which is awesome customer care, but also the pictures of cartoon pests were hilarious enough that I’ve cut out the moth and stuck it on the door to the infected room. It looks great!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWhen I moved in to my flat I noticed a few tiny moths & thought nothing of it having had no experience of them. Then I found a small patch of carpet which I suspected had been caused by the moths so I decided to act before they started on my clothes.

I ordered these thinking it would pick up the few moths I’d seen. I put them by my wardrobe, under the sofa/cupboards etc. The moths disappeared & I completely forgot about the traps (I know, I know, I SHOULD clean under my cupboards/sofa more often). Now a few months later I’ve pulled them out & found what you can see in the pictures – I can’t believe there were so many moths!! They clearly work.

Even though I haven’t seen any moths in a while, I’ve put the replacement sticky pads in to see if there are any more….we shall see!

    Amazing!

Easy to put together and mss free. No nasty smells or chemicals to deal with. I placed them in corners and under low units as suggested in a review. Bingo- 24 hours later we have some in most traps. We are still killing what I assume are females lurking but I’m hopeful that if I keep this up for a full 12 months I may get rid of the little blighters once and for all. It’s also very satisfying seeing them – rather then than seeing the holes they leave in my favourite jumpers !

I have just replaced the sticky pads on these traps after four months – they come with a spare. I thought they did not work at first because I put them down in December which was obviously a quiet month. But several of these traps by April had three to six corpses stuck to them. I placed them very close to previous areas of woolen carpet where we had found moth infestation before, where there was several inches height clearance, but out of the way where they would not be disturbed. I am using these traps alongside spraying rooms before I leave them for several days, and also putting moth killer tabs and sheets in drawers with woolens. The result has not been complete eradication – killing five moths by hand recently in my house reminded me that I should treat again. Tackling different stages of the life cycle and using different methods, including moving furniture and carpets and vacuum cleaning the secret places where those moths have been hiding, seems to be the key.

Update – I have laid a new batch of traps at my mother’s which has not had much recent moth treatment, and where there is clearly a serious moth problem. After a week there were twenty moths in one trap, and plenty more in the room. The combined campaign of room and carpet spray, killer papers and tabs and increased density of pheromone traps is just beginning. It is May and the moths are out in force.

Golden Review Award: 47 From Our Userso moths have actually stuck to the sticky pads yet, but there may be another reason for that.
I should have taken the first signs of moth infestation more seriously than I actually did. Daily hoovering the rug they started out on wasn’t enough. When they infiltrated the stair and landing carpet I realised I had a major problem. We have many holes and the carpet is ruined and will need to be replaced (the rug went a while ago but by then it was too late). I would recommend anyone to call out the exterminators. We went via our local council and although they didn’t provide the service themselves, they had details of a local company who did and were very reasonably priced (unlike some, beware) and came the next day. All areas were sprayed and instructions from them were followed to the letter. My problem has improved 99.9% and they recommended getting pheromone traps to see if the problem had gone.
So I bought these. Within half an hour of putting them out two moths appeared and were duly dealt with. Although…. they didn’t actually go in the traps, they were pretty much sitting next to them so I’m sure the pheromone worked. The other thing is this. It may be coincidence but I have also squished 9 moth larvae wriggling around right next to the traps on top of the carpet over the last few days. Not sure if they have a sense of smell at that early stage of development or it’s instinct? No idea. As long as they’re gone, honestly I don’t care.
Hence the 4.5* and not 5* as the adult moths didn’t actually go in the trap itself, but then I only had a couple by that stage anyway.
This product arrived very quickly and was well packaged. I am going to continue to use them until I’m sure the clothes moths and their larvae are all gone. And shall probably continue to do so when we replace the carpet. Just to be sure.
Hope this has been of some help. Good Luck.
Update: now a well deserved 5* It has been a couple of weeks now since using these traps and I am happy to say they worked. They have been moved around, stood up and laid flat (which I found was best) on the stair and landing carpet and have successfully caught moths for us. I even put 3/4 together in one of the worst areas to give a good pheromone boost. I haven’t seen any moths for a few days and I’m hoping its the last we shall see of the pesky critters. These certainly helped. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI haven’t caught any professional common clothes moths, but I did get a couple of amateur spiders, so I’m not completely sure if it’s doing its job. I have also been blitzing the moths (actually the carpet variety) with a neat spray and making sure I hoover along the edges properly. Behind the furniture? Can one ever tell. All I can say is that I haven’t been inundated with the beasties like last year, so the combined approach seems to be working.
I would definitely recommend these traps as part of a wider strategy. Slip them behind wardrobes and other furniture you can’t hoover regularly.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHaving seen the occasional moth arsising from the carpet, I bought these as they are cheaper than replacing said floor coverings. I opened the box and the easy click together trap could not be simpler, just remember the little ‘tongues’ near the clips go inside the case (maybe a photo instruction would help some people?)

Within 2 minutes, it was like a scene from The Birds. Moths everywhere (um…maybe my infestation was worse than I thought) and they were seeking out the sexy smelling sticky pads with gusto (sexy to moths – no smell to humans).

I did see 1 or 2 come away from the pad and keep flying around – maybe just a bit more sticky would be good. But 10/ 10 for working. Trying to work out if I can get people to place bets on the squares that the next moth will stick to………..

Golden Review Award: 181 From Our UsersDiscovering we had an issue with moths I’d previously picked up some moth repellent things but that just seemed to move the problem.

Picked up a set of these traps and put them around the house: one in each bedroom, a couple downstairs and one in a closet. Apparently, you have to make sure you have the right type of trap for your moth infestation, so I wasn’t sure they’d work … it’s fair to say they did.

It was a little creepy at first to be honest; in the bedrooms, moths started emerging from clothes and buzzing around the traps almost immediately. They didn’t stick all stick but over the next few days we started to see a few ‘catches’.

Over the next week it became obvious that the traps that were laid flat, as opposed to hanging up pinned to a wall / clipped to a closet, were much more effective. Changing the rest of the traps to that orientation where possible really seemed to improve the number of moths which stuck.

Overall the most effective placement seemed to be laying flat, underneath something with a bit of clearance. In my case, the two a foot or so under beds and another on top of a box under a table we’re the most successful. We also had a lot of luck with one just laid flat on top of the wardrobe.

I’ve just ordered one of the refill packs, about three months later. The picture attached is what they look like now.

I’d suggest that you don’t wait this long as, whilst the month numbers dropped dramatically we noticed them starting to pop up again a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how long the manufactuer says about this but I’d factor that in when you buy them.

    Very effective (almost worryingly so)

I was looking for an easier way to help control the clothes moth infestation that has sprung up in my house and ended up coming across pheromone traps. I was a little skeptical and a number of reviews across other products said it didn’t really work however this is most definitely not the case for me! Within 10 minutes of placing the trap I had 4 moths hovering around it and the next morning they were stuck and dead – success! I would say these are more for placing around your home than inside a wardrobe. To note, they attract the male moths so the females have none to breed with and so hopefully breaking the reproductive cycle and issue.

The reasons I like this product:
    1) It actually works and doesn’t involve you spraying nasty chemicals around your house or any effort on your part.
    2) Entopest is such great value for money as you get so many traps and also refill pads (they do stop working after 3 months or so and also can get dusty or full). As a result I’ve been able to place traps in different rooms and so figure out where they’re coming from.
    3) Really easy to assemble, hang and/or place flat against the wall on top of the bookcase – not one has been knocked over or fallen down.
    4) It came with some really useful information that clarified the type of moth it works on etc.
    5) I quite liked that it’s a smaller company

    Top tips:
    1) Place them quite high up in your room as this tends to be the level moths fly at and like.
    2) Always place them vertically and never lying down flat (doesn’t work as moths like to be on the wall a.k.a. vertical)
    3) I’ve found placing them against a wall vertically on top of a bookcase or something like that has worked best rather than hanging off a curtain pole.
    4) It does state this in the instructions but do give them time to attract the moths. I think I got quick results as we have a real problem it seems but you need to leave them in a place for 2 weeks before deciding to put it elsewhere.

These clearly get the moths all worked up… as soon as I opened the packet we had a few flying around, and killed about 10 over the next 5 minutes or so.

Since then it’s been a bit of a slow burn. The traps have caught a few moths, but not as many as I have, and I’m getting frustrated finding them sitting on walls next to the traps. Still, they are slowly catching a few, which is a few less in the house I suppose. Perhaps I was expecting an overnight miracle.

Just remember to wash your hands after handling the traps. I found a few moths flying to me rather than the traps!!

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersI have worked in musuems for 15 years and we always use the Demi Diamond traps so I was a bit skeptical about these. However, after a huge infestation of clothes moths in my carpet at home, I wanted to get a lot of traps economically so I thought I would give these a go. I can report that they do indeed work. After one night there were 2 or three beasties on each of the 10 strips (I cheated and put some down without the trap in areas where they would not be disturbed). The number is rising daily! I will purchase these again to get the five extra traps and replenish the strips in 3 months time. These will not knock an infestation dead but they will let you know where you need to treat. As for keeping the moths at bay, the best thing is cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I cannot vouch for how these will work in a wardrobe. Mine are strangely moth free. They just love our wool carpets.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersVery happy with these. The right type of moth (eg the common household clothes moth) loves these traps. Was surprisingly effective.

As these only attract and trap males, and it’s the moth larva that will damage your clothes (and maybe infest your kitchen?), it will take a few weeks to clear them all out of your house, but once you get rid of enough of them, they will die out because they won’t be able to find each other to mate.
