Looks great in my kitchen but more importantly it makes a great coffee, easy to start up and use. Love the lattes it makes in particular.
Yea really nice… Great flavour extraction and also the throth stays right to the bottom of your drink…
Also it does actually let a bog standard size UK coffee/tea mug fit
Good value for money with all the utensils and grinder not to mention the glasses
Would AND WILL be recommended t0 my friends and relatives/family /friends
Can do so much with it love it best thing bough
Very happy with the machine and the quality of the coffee produced. Would recommend for any coffee lover. Maria from customer service was very helpful with regards assistance with the milk tank.
Easy to use and a very good result – very happy with it..
This machine maybe small and compact, but it delivers big.
As. Afirat venture into buying coffee machines this has been a surprisingly good start. You’re able to blend and get the strength of coffee you like. The machine itself is very straight forward to use. Only think missing is that it won’t do a flat white it’s either espresso, late or cappuccino. That said we have used it quite a bit with no disasters so far.
I had been mulling over purchasing a dedicated espresso machine and came across this one. I read the bad reviews and some of the good ones and the general consensus was positive. So far so good. Easy to clean and easy to use with a double-double espresso taking no more than a couple minutes. Haven’t used the milk container yet as I’m a black coffee drinker and I already have a burr grinder for the beans. It does what I want it to do and it does it well.
It looks lovely, and has good quality components. I bought it for a Xmas present for my husband so I can’t comment about the ease of use or the flavour.
Got this for work, and we love it. Simple, complete and great value for money. I find the latte/cap options create too much froth, so I set my own volumes for coffee and milk independently and create that way. Works like a charm
This is the first espresso coffee machine I have bought and it brilliant, great value for money! And it’s pretty straight forward to use, I would suggest reading the manual though. The coffee bean grinder works really well, and the coffee machine delivers great coffee!
I bought this as a present for my daughter and she says it’s one of the best coffee machines she’s ever had. It’s very easy to use and the coffee tastes grea
Great product and fantastic customer service. Makes a really good espresso. Had a small problem with it and a quick call to there customer service resolved it. Very impressed with the company.
Loving my coffee machine first one I’ve had , it’s brilliant makes a coffee like you have in a restaurant . Got it as missing our coffee from Aby’s on Exmouth seafro
Great product, the best of its kind we’ve had so far.
The customer service is excellent , if you have any questions, problems they help you out straight away.
100% recommend it !
Thank you
I find the milk delivery temperamental and nozzles are hard to clean. Thr shelf meant to hold expression cups does not stay out of the way, but keeps falling down. While it does an adequate job, it could do better.
So easy to set up & to use i would definitely recommend this machine
Easy to use. Warm cups with hot water first and coffee will be hotter to drink.
Came package really well. Instructions are easy to follow. Enclosed picture of espresso and making a latte
I bought this machine as a step up from a Tassimo to see if I would enjoy the whole coffee making experience with a view to eventually upgrading to something like a Sage Oracle Touch.
I have had the machine about 5 weeks and and make 3 to 4 lattes a day. I have full strength coffee and my partner decaf.
The machine is straight forward to use and produces a nice cup of coffee. I am still learning but am starting to get quite proficient. My initial couple of cups were Luke warm and I thought, here we go what a waste of money but after reading a few reviews I identified that if you add cold water from the tap, cold milk from the fridge and a cold cup you get cold coffee! I put the milk in the microwave for about 25 secs and pre heat the cup with boiling water and get a nice hot cuppa.
I think some of the previous poor reviews were littered with schoolboy errors. You need to empty the drip tray every day as the system works with pressurised water and any excess is diverted to the drip tray. You need to wipe the recess where the portafilter locates as grinds accumulate on it during the brewing process (caution as it is hot) I run a cleaning process after use on the milk steamer system every day (fill the milk container with water and press the bottom right clean button) and once a week I run a full clean with an empty portafilter in place and a full main water tank (press the bottom right clean button for 5secs, don’t leave the machine as you need to empty the cup underneath the portafilter two or three times). Do not use a really fine grind as it blocks the portafilter and the machine has a turn! Likewise don’t try and speed up the process by removing the milk container whilst the coffee is passing through the portafilter as the machine also gets very upset.
There are a couple of negatives. The tool for filling the portafilter/tamping the coffee is a pain as I tend to get more coffee on the work surface than anywhere else so much so that I’ve bought two separate tools one purpose built steel ladle/spoon and a steel tamper. The blade grinder is ok but I could never get a particularly even grind, it was either lumpy on like dust so I did some research and bought a burr grinder off Ebay which works well. I still use the grinder for decaf though just don’t overfill it and I do a couple of 10 Second pulses and shake it in between.
In summary I am pleased with my purchase and very much enjoying the whole experimenting with different coffees. Just waiting for my HR Higgins introductory selection of coffees to arrive.
Nice ease ro set up and easy to use, after few use starts leaking tray part I believe as it gets full. Drinks just warm, couldcbe hotte
Missing coffees with being in lockdown. Easy to use , lovely coffee nice temperature. You won’t regret i
This machine is amazing!
Once you get to grips with how everything goes together you can’t go wrong! Makes delicious hot coffee that rivals any coffee shop! And it’s small enough for a small kitchen like mine! Looks nice & worth every penny…. you could spend 200-500 pounds for a machine but you really don’t need to.
I love it!!
The coffee machine is great just love it so easy too use
I had a small problem with a loose button and on contacting Sarah at ExpressoWorks she was extremely helpful and resolved the problem promptly.
Looked at a few before deciding on this one. Liked the price, what you get with it and the good reviews. Simple to use and clean, makes perfect cappuccinos and lattes (all we drink) and temperature is just right for us. You will need to empty the drainer at the bottom quite regularly but it’s simple to do. Very pleased with it and although more of a faff than our old pod machine, the coffee is far better and more like you get from a proper coffee house.
This is a great machine, not too big, easy to use and provides a great coffee. The glasses that came with it were great as well. Highy recommend.
I’ve had the machine for less than a week and whole family loves it. My biggest issue is that the milk-based coffees are barely above body temperature. Customer service’s response to me questioning this was literally, “use less milk.”
In a latte.
Other than that it makes a great cup of coffee. Just expect to have to pop it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds as soon as it’s brewed.
Excellent coffee machine! Very easy to use! Excellent customer services! Would highly recommend!
This makes great coffee. And great cappuccinos too. I have returned the product for the only reason that I was not convinced by the milk frother.
There are cheaper machines on the market but you do get a lot for your money with this coffee maker> I am an experienced barista so accept this machine isn’t as robust as one in the coffee shop but it is fantastic for home use. The grinder is simple, quick and effective, the water pressure is great, the machine is simple to use, gives a variety of settings but not so many as its too confusing. From my perspective the best feature is the milk frother – its fantastic, and easily the best I found, it can even give a good froth to soya milk too.
Love this machine, makes a great espresso with a really nice crema. I dont like coffee roasting hot, so the temperature suits me perfectly. I also dont put milk in my coffee but the lattes I have made for others look great with lots of foamy milk.
Great machine especially for the price, I doubt you will see anything on the market as good as this in that price bracket.
It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing espresso machine out there but its definitely not ugly, still happy to have it displayed on the kitchen worktop.
I’ve seen a couple of reviews saying its noisy but it’s really not. I used a nespresso machine before buying this and it was probably louder. Even the grinder is reasonably quite. I would happily make a coffee in the morning while people are still sleeping upstairs.
Great little machine, easy to operate, easy to clean and most importantly of all offers a good cup of coffee.
Good quality grinder, good cleaning functions, I find the default latte a bit too frothy. But can be programmed, or just do expresso shot and add frothed milk after (prefer this personally)
Good purchase
A simple machine to learn to use. Delivers everything it promises. It’s a nice neat size and looks good on the counter. I emailed EspressoWorks to ask how to make Americano using the machine and they replied the same day (you program one of the functions – easy). I’ve also been able to make a hot chocolate for my 4 year old by putting Cadbury’s Hot choc powder, then adding milk froth – it’s a perfect temperature for a child.
The coffee otherwise is lovely and hot.
Brilliant product for the price.
I like the easiness of the espresso barista. It’s also good value for money. Although we had a problem with the frothing for our latte, it was dealt with immediately. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes coffee
This is really great for anyone missing their mid-commute coffee or office machine during lockdown! It is really easy to use, once you have the ‘knack’, but there is quite a bit to remember so be prepared for some mishaps if, like me, you’re not fully awake until you’ve had your first shot of caffeine!
Based on ease of use (once you know how) and quality of coffee alone, I would give the product a 5* rating without hesitation and would give an overall 4.5 if I could but there are a few modifications the manufacturer could make for a totally flawless experience.
1. Tall mugs and travel flasks don’t fit under the coffee when the portafilter is in place, even with the drip-tray removed. The machine is beautifully compact and fits easily under wall units, but you are restricted to a standard sized mug, cup or the glasses provided. No more large lattes!
2. When the milk reservoir isn’t attached, the buttons for Latte & Cappucino don’t light up but there is no such guard in place for the portafilter. You can therefore quite happily press the button for any of the coffees without remembering to actually add the ground coffee, resulting in a nice mug of hot steamed milk with a bit of hot water!! As I said earlier, this is a mistake you only tend to make once (or twice…) but, if you’re used to a machine with a bean hopper, it’s an easy step to miss out and the margin for user error could be so easily avoided if the coffee buttons were disabled when the portafilter isn’t there.
3. There is no warning when the drip tray is full, which seems odd because the drip tray does contain 2 red nodules that *look* like sensors, but they don’t actually appear to do anything. Like one of the other reviewers, I thought my machine had developed some kind of leak, but realised it was the drip tray that was overflowing. This surprised me because I didn’t think I’d spilt much into the drip dray but, on reading the troubleshooting tips on the website, I realised that some water is deliberately released into the drip tray after brewing, which might explain why it became full after a few days’ use.
4. The deep cleaning cycle (long press on the clean button) ouputs *a lot* of water! The milk reservoir / spout cleaning cycle (short press) only filled one mug, so I thought I would be safe using the same mug for the deep clean but it very quickly overflowed. I would therefore recommend using a large bowl for the deep clean cycle, which takes a lot longer than the milk one and I think this needs to be added to the instructions, as I don’t remember reading it, although I may have missed it in my eagerness to use the machine!
These very minor gripes aside, this is a really good machine and it makes a great Cappucino or Latte without having to heat and froth the milk separately, as you would with a standard perculator or aeropress. I think my favourite feature is that you can set your desired proportions of milk and espresso, just by holding the button down and letting it go when you’ve reached the desired amount and it remembers your preference next time you press the programmed button.
The built-in cleaning cycle also makes it easier to clean than the ‘milk wand’ type machines, which I’ve found you have to take apart and clean thoroughly after every use to prevent a build-up of stinky stale milk. I usually wait until lunchtime to clean the machine though because the milk spout and coffee heads do get hot during use. I also found it’s better to not have your brewed coffee beside the machine when you remove the milk reservoir, as the mechanism is a little stiff at first and there is a risk that the container will suddenly shoot out and knock your freshly made latte straight into the sink… Not that I did this the first time i used it or anything…
I bought this coffee maker based on the reviews it got, and I wasn’t disappointed.
10/10. Very easy to use and very easy to clean and the coffee is top notch.
My machine is leaking water everywhere and I’m one of those nightmare women who throws out everything when a parcel arrives. At first I was blaming my ( long suffering ) husband for the mess thinking he was just being careless but now I’ve realised the water is coming out from underneath at the overspill tray – the machine tank is never filled up to the max line and I’m unsure what’s wrong. It’s only been in use three days. So upsetting as it’s a fantastic machine and we are loving having lattes “on tap”
HAD TO EDIT THIS AS COMPANY ARE SO HELPFUL AND QUICK TO RESPOND!
I was t emptying the drip tray – I know right! I’m a fool. Machine is so good – well worth the money.
My family love this machine it hasnt stopped making coffee easy to use and understand makes a perfect latte would recommend and the price for the item is perfec
Fantastic product, easy to use, and produces great coffee.
Unfortunately my machine failed with no way to reset it. Coffee arm was stuck on locked. Contacted James at EspressoWorks, who replied within minutes suggesting several possible ways to troubleshoot / reset the unit. These turned out not to resolve the issue and upon updating James with this information, I had a replacement unit arrive within 3 days without having to first return the faulty unit.
James’ customer service was “second to none” and totally outstanding.
I would highly reccomend purchasing this machine if you are looking for a coffee machine without having to spend many hundreds of pounds.
Thanks James… you are a star!
I had so many espresso machines this one its one off the best does as exactly as its on descriptio
After a couple of days use the milk was not transfering to the cup.
I emailed James at EspressoWorks who replied almost instantly (and on a Sunday!)
He suggested cleaning the small jet in the milk container tank which sorted the problem! It’s a great machine, backed up by impeccable customer service!
Recommend this machine, oh, and coffee is superb!!
Very good small expresso barista style machine. Does everything it promises. Coffee grinder is excellent. Very easy to use. The milk attachment works really well and gives an amazing frothy head.
It’s very useful for all of us and so easy to use.
I’m a bit of a coffee nut (got two Bialetti Mokas,an Aeropress & a cafetiere) but haven’t owned a proper machine for years, so wasn’t sure if I’d like what I’d find, but I’m super impressed. For starters you get a tonne of accessories including a really good grinder and a nicely sized scoop/tamper. The four ‘glass cups’ are actually plastic, but that’s a good thing, meaning that they’re insulated and not too hot to pick up – and they’re a really pleasing design too. The machine itself is really well made and robust and was so simple to set up I had a test coffee on the go in minutes. The The buttons are clear and obvious but you can adjust the settings for the size of cupful you want (always large!) I’ve only started experimenting with the milk unit, which is also super easy to attach and operate, but the steam spout has plenty of power to make a proper cappuccino froth (not often my thing) and heats the milk for a latte/flat white, really quickly. Overall I’m delighted and reckon that this is really good value and you get a lot of machine and gizmos for your money!
Looking for a cappucino/latte/espresso as good or imo better than the popular coffee shops…….look no further. I love this machine
