Absolutely outstanding performance. Had a ecovacs before and broke one of the front brushes. Thought about getting another and then saw a video on the eufy. This machine is outside. Not only better designed than the ecovacs. Suction is better. App is better. Self emptying and roller cutter works great. Very happy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve mad my L60 since October23 and use it about twice a week. We have hard floors all downstairs, a busy house in the countryside and three dogs.
Initial setup mapping was super quick (10-15 mins?) and accurate – I’m no tech-wizz, it just wasn’t complicated.
This hoover is great at picking up dog hair and light dust which is what it was intended for. Because our place is so messy we have it set to one below the strongest suction which does a reasonable job whilst spinning out the battery charge but it’s nowhere near as good as when Brunhilde thrashes about with the Miele. Then again it’s much less work than doing it manually.
The only hassle is making sure I’ve moved all the chairs, low curtains and assorted children’s clutter off the floor to give the L60 a clear run of things.
Dust box gets full every time it is used and I don’t find it a pain to manually empty it each time so am not regretting having bought a model without a self-emptying base station.
It was always a tough ask to get our ground floor done on one charge at strong suction and it’s recently started returning to charge itself up after about 85% finished then going back an hour or so later to finish the job. Not a problem for me but might irritate some people.
Overall, I wish it had even stronger suction (we really are messy here) and a longer battery charge. App is great and bar a tiny niggle, works well. With having dogs I’ve not been brave enough to set up pre-set cleaning times in case one has been caught short at night – a friend did with hers one night and now refers to it as the “Nutella hallway nightmare”.

    I bought this after using an Ecovacs robocleaner for the last 5 years. Here’s how this differs;

    – it’s dumb. Unlike the Ecovacs, there’s no app to control this from your phone. The main negatives from that are that you can’t see progress and you can’t easily define an area for the eufy to clean, but by far the biggest negative is that in comparison, the eufy is very slow. Robocleaners always work in a random kind of manner, but with the ecovacs I could see what it was doing and there was some logic in its overlapping motions. The eufy just appears to be completely random, I can’t work out a cleaning pattern and it takes a looooong time, probably 2.5-3 times as long as the ecovacs did.

+ it sucks! The suction/cleaning of the eufy is waaay better than the ecovacs. It’s actually essential that you clean/empty it after every clean it pulls up so much dirt (and/or my house is that dirty!?!)

= although there’s no smart app, you can get ‘some’ control through using the remote control and some of the functions on it (like the spot cleaning).

After the first clean (length of time, no app), I was ready to send this back. But after a few days I’ve changed my mind on the eufy. The cleaning is very impressive, you just have to overlook the time it takes.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe ultra-strong 5,000 Pa suction power is truly remarkable. It effortlessly tackles everything from hair to crumbs to dust in just one pass, leaving my floors looking immaculate with minimal effort on my part. The iPath Laser Navigation system creates accurate maps of my home, allowing the L60 to navigate with precision and efficiency. Another impressive aspect is the L60’s ability to climb up to 20 mm, effortlessly maneuvering over thresholds and carpet edges without getting stuck. This ensures extended cleaning coverage and allows it to tackle every corner of my home with ease.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the eufy L60 Robot Vacuum Cleaner. It’s smart, efficient, and incredibly effective at keeping my floors clean. If you’re looking for a hassle-free way to maintain a spotless home, I highly recommend giving the L60 a try.

We had never considered buying a robot vacuum cleaner. We had bought our daughter-in-law one as a Xmas present. At her request.
When we visited the next couple of times we noticed a huge difference in the house. Our grandsons toys and motor cars no longer graced the carpets. The dining room’s hard floor positively glowed. ‘Bob’ the vacuum had been programmed to clean the house daily while the children were taken to school having picked up their toys. On her return our daughter-in-law could start her busy working day in clean & tidy house.
We were sufficiently impressed to purchase ‘Dotty’. We mapped our three storey home and set her to work. The entertainment she provides shouldn’t be underestimated. Even our cat enjoyed prowling after her from room to room. More to the point the revelation on emptying the quantity of compacted dust, fluff, cat hair and dirt was shocking.
The house is gratifyingly clean, the carpet pile is looking immaculate and appears thicker. No danger of her falling down the stairs, she knows what she’s doing. Unfused by table or chair legs, doors or speaker stands. She uses LiDAR to scan the house. Check out uTube for the Eufy X8.
Downsides, she’s not inexpensive, finding the right space for her home base could be tricky in a cluttered house. She ideally needs it moved from floor to floor with her. It will pay to get dining chairs and other lose items, cat bowls, etc out of the way while she or he works. Oh, she’s programmable and Alexa is compatible with her.
Having previously vacuumed our three storeys from top to bottom, she does a job I’d rather not do. What’s more she does it a lot better than I do.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGot this for my wife for Christmas. Very pleased overall. While its not a smart robot (does not learn floor plans) it does a very good job and gets everywhere with its random program. Its able to get under things like the kitchen table and under stair landing that are difficult to reach with an upright. I empty it every day and its full of pet hair and dust we have a German Shepard and two cats. Easy to set off in other areas as well. Overall does what it says. The brushes work very well and it picks up everything in its path. Gets over door thresholds and floor rugs surprisingly well. Always finds its way home to charge. Easy to empty/clean and good filter desighn. Would definately recommend. Im sure the much higher priced models are more efficient by learning the house but this is fine for us and cleans very well.

Easy setup and the App is very good , you can use it to clean room by Room or different zones, it avoids obstacles no problem and the bin is easy to empty but there is no warning when it is full

We have 3 dogs, two golden Retrievers one cavachon, lots of hair and chewed things. The Eufy does need to be emptied everyday. It doesn’t tolerate a full bowel. However it’s a mighty little robot and I love how you can zone sections off. House is lovely and clean, no dog hair in balls anymore. Well worth the money. Mine is 5000 pa.

This is a robovac with few gadgets (no timers, remote controls etc). But it works and is good value for the price. The only slight problem is that its ‘dust pan’ is small – enough for two uses (the previous robovacs I have the ‘dustpan’ has been big enough for 5 – 12 uses). But for the price definitely good value.

It does everything it says it does. It takes a while to get it set up to map out the floor spaces and would be nice if on the instructions site you could go direct to the model you have bought. There are many models and different videos it can take a while before you find that what you start looking at doesn’t apply to your model. An off button to be confident it won’t move about while you are out would be good (maybe we haven’t found it yet!)

I have concrete floors, I also have kids so I needed a good Hoover with high suction power. I wasn’t interested in the mopping function because the sticky bits in the floor, I feel, need a proper mopping. So this Hoover Eufy L60 is ticking the boxes for us. Very happy with it.

I actually didn’t expect much of this given its budget price point. However I’m very pleasantly surprised. I haven’t had to vacuum downstairs (all hard flooring) since we got this a month ago. We set it to go around at 1am every morning, so each day we wake up to perfectly clean floors. I can’t comment on how well it works on carpet as we haven’t tried yet. But on hard floors and rugs, it’s perfect! I would highly recommend and buy again if needed.

Golden Review Award: 76 From Our UsersI’ve been wa ting a robot vacuum for a while but my husband didn’t think it woukd be worth the money. Eventually decided to get one regardless and spent a long time researching which one to get. I knew I wanted an Eufy, which narrowed it down somewhat, but there were still so many different models!

To help narrow the search down further I decided I wasn’t bothered abiut having a hybrid one, as the reviews of the ‘mop’ feature weren’t great. Instead, the key features for me were high suction and mapping capabilities, as there were a few places I didn’t want it to go (under the sofa, places there are loose cables, etc). I came across the L60, which was cheaper than some of the other models but with the highest suction and mapping. I couldn’t find any reviews, and realised this was because it was a relatively new model. Decided to risk it anyway, especially as it had 50 off, making it even cheaper. I’ve always found Amazon Customer Services great so thought if I experienced any issues I’d be covered.

I’m so glad I took the risk, as my title says, it’s one of the best things I’ve bought. Working full time with three young children with extra curricular clubs I find it hard to keep in top of the housework, including vacuuming/sweeping. Eugene, as our Robovac is affectionately known, has been a game changer. I can put him on whenever needed to keep on top of everything. For example, vacuuming the kitchen floor after breakfast whilst we get ready for work and school. It’s also helped keep the house tidier generally, as the kids get warned before he wakes up to make sure all their toys are off the floor.

    Key positive features:
    – suction is great, I find it picks up really well both on carpet and hard floor.
    – charge lasts well. I’d say we have an average floor plan and he manages all of the downstairs in one go.
    – The rotating brushes work well at brushing in debris towards the vac, increasing the amount it picks up from outside of its own circumference.
    – navigation has been working well so far. The mapping means he is usually quite systematic in his cleaning, something non-mappings models are criticised for. He’s only got stuck once or twice, and this was due to him becoming wedged between a step and a basket.
    – room cleaning: If I only need him to clean certain rooms you can select which one specifically via the app. You can also use this feature to select the order he cleans in (the order you select them in), which I find useful if I know I have some bits to tidy up in one room first, as he can still be making a start on the others.
    – zone cleaning: using the app you can also create specific zones for him to clean, useful if you need to do some spot cleaning.
    – no go zones: again using the app you can create no go zones, which I have used for areas where we have exposed cables, and for our fire hearth, for example.
    – Multifloor mapping allows you to have different maps for each floor in your house.
    – you can create routines with Alexa to use voice activation.
    – decent sized waste compartment, although I tend to empty everyday out of habit.

    Negatives:
    – not many to be honest!
    – The Alexa functionality could be better, it’s quite limited to turning him on or off. It would be great if you could activate some of the above features via voice control (e.g. Room cleaning). However, I think this is an issue generally with Alexa and Eufy rather than specific to this model.
    – The robovac creates a map the first time it is used, which is not always accurate in identify where one room starts/ends. Within the app you can amend this by partioning and merging rooms. However, Ive found this function quite hit and miss, with it not allowing me to partion some parts of rooms it has correctly misidentified. Not a massive issue, but it does me when I ask it to clean the living room, I then need to create a zone clean, as it thinks the first part of our living room is our hallway and therefore misses this out in the room clean.

Overall, I’m really pleased with the L60 and would thoroughly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter much research and counting of pennies I bought this little fella (X8) praying it would be decent and half expecting it would disappoint – it does not! This little dude has been a total game changer for me, I love him. We have a mix of hard floors and carpets, 2 cats, 2 small kids and a hubby who forgets to take his shoes off regularly – I don’t think it’s ever been so clean. Out the vac goes everyday on his routine and tidies up after us all. The app is easy to use and I’m amazed how much gets sucked up on a daily basis. What I would say is that before I let him loose I gave the carpeted rooms a good going over with the Dyson to get ingrained pet hair out – now robovac is able to keep on top of it regularly so that doesn’t become an issue. I have noticed occasionally the side sweeper bats something too far beyond his cleaning line and he can’t get right into corners – for me I can forgive all of this because he’s raised the overall standard so much without me having to do anything. My biggest disappointment is that he’s made in China.

My home is by no means made up of square empty rooms, but smallish rooms with furniture taking up every spare bit of non-walkinh space, and houses two long haired dogs. I seem to be constantly buying new hoovers in a desperate search to keep the dog hair, dust and grit down. I’d love to be able to reliably walk barefoot over my hardwood floors but they always seemed to be covered in dog hair. I’ve tried a cheap robot cleaner in the past but it just couldn’t cope with the number of obstacles everywhere. The eufy has no problems however and has already vacuumed under my bed twice. It gets into surprisingly tight spaces and manages the number of obstacles and dog beds everywhere without any fuss. Absolutely brilliant, very happy I bought yet another hoover!

I chose this device because I don’t have a smart phone, and an external review indicated this unit came with its own remote. As the photo on Amazon suggests. After a lot of support from eufy – who were great – I have managed to link it with my iPad. And it works as described. The main advantage for me is I can now increase the suction power, which has helped a lot.
For anyone with a smart phone, it would probably get five stars.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAs a robotist, I thought – how could you go wrong with the iRobot robovac models?
But then I saw eufy and took a long hard look at the various offerings – and back FOUR years ago, I decided to buy this device.

    SITUATION:
I have a 900+ sq.ft. flat with large windows and lots of particulate matter coming in from the outside.
So I needed a vacuum which could:

    1. Capture all of the hair and dust around (long hair from myself and others)
    2. Keep working for over a week so I would clean out the bin when needed
    3. Handle the different rooms it would be traveling in (2 bed rooms, a bath and the main areas)
    4. Be quiet when it ran during the early morning

    PROS / CONS
Looking at the different eufy Designs along with other players, here are the things that made me choose and use the eufy 15C MAX:

    1. Suction Power – at 2000pa, the 15C MAX is one of the strongest suction services out there. A different in 500 may not seem like much, but when on a towel or carpet, it comes in handy.

    2. Cleaning brushes/tools – this device has two spinners and one rotary brush which drives material into the trash bin, but the spinners have interesting behaviours that make them “okay”. Every so often, one of them stops spinning, but it may be part of the system itself.

    3. Battery life – the 15C MAX is a beast and can handle the full flat with one charge and then some.

    4. Bin Capacity – the 15C MAX is perfect with the size of the trash bin (600mL) and makes cleaning it out easy.

    5. App / Scheduling Cleans – if not for the app, this 15C MAX would be annoying since I would have to MANUALLY control it (as I did with my first robovac). But with the app, it was a dawdle and I simply clean it out once a week.

    6. Remote control – a silly addition, but heck – some people like having ANOTHER controller in their hands to control it when it is going at the wrong time.

    7. Auto charge – seems to work pretty darn well – except when it catches my trainer’s laces or the fan’s power cord.

8 . Smart home integration – Alexa/Google – have it connected to my Google service but rarely use it, but it does work well when I do.

Things that are a bit annoying about it (and likely all all robocvacs):

    1. Mapping service – with no mapping service, this thing just bounces around from place to place. And, it shows when you hear it doing the bouncing.

    2. Hybrid (mopping) – with laminate flooring, you’d think the mopping function would be an important feature. But research shows that the mopping is almost like having the robovac scoot its butt along the floor with a wet handkerchief – which will not do a proper mopping and the 15C MAX just does not do.

    SUMMARY
After four years (and going) I am still VERY happy with my eufy 15C MAX purchase – whilst I keep looking for something that would convince me otherwise to get a better offering.

Maybe this year I’ll get the X8 during Prime Day Sale — with the LIDAR mapping — but I can not get myself over the line to purchase the X8 Hybrid since the mop cleaning looks almost disappointing.

I’ve had this vacuum for 3-4 months. Initially I was dubious as to its cleaning power as this is my first Robovac. However, although this is a lower end/priced model, it vacuums extremely well, picking up much more than you’d expect. I have animals in the household and use this twice a week, without using the remote/app etc (I like simple gadgets), although you can. Small cables – iPhone charger or headphones etc, you do need to pick up but thicker ones like extension leads you don’t. It transfers from hard floor to carpet well, including any mats or rugs – with ease. It comes with a v. long magnetic strip (cut length for use) and stickers to stick to the floor, for any areas you don’t wish it to visit – which I’ve used near puppy pads. I have plenty left over to renew as needed. It runs for c. 60-90 mins and easily cleans all downstairs rooms at once, in a reasonably large house. It also comes with spare brushes/filter, which again, I’m yet to use. This vacuum has saved me time/effort – just turn it on and let it go. It’s also quiet. The only area it doesn’t like is any area with direct sunlight (parts of tiled conservatory floor – depending on time of day) however this doesn’t cause huge issues. It covers the floor randomly rather than straight lines but if you just leave it running, it more than adequately does the job and covers everywhere, including edges/under furniture. This is very low maintenance, in my experience and a great addition to my household.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI read so many reviews from new owners when I bought this that I decided to wait for a year before making my mind up. This isn’t the only hoover we have in our house – it’s one of 4. But it’s by far the most used!

The app is a bit fiddly and has lost / forgotten the room on occasion and ‘Robby’ as he’s named has eaten a few shoe laces and dragged them around the house but aside from this, it’s been a genuine game changer.

The hoover has a load of great settings from auto clean through to a preset day / time when it tootles off automatically. I switch it on from my phone most days after taking the kids to school and it handles the mix of hard floors and carpet with ease. The mop facility is fairly decent for a light and regular clean but doesn’t replace a regular deep clean.

Everything on the hoover has been kept clean and well services and it’s slotted into our cleaning routine really well, saving me a lot of time.

Gadgets to make our lives easier come and go, once used a few times it becomes not the device you hoped it might be – and I thought this might go the same way. But no, it’s great. It not that it does anything better than a conventional vacuum cleaner, it’s dust compartment is small and it will miss areas. But it’s strength is it runs around for an hour at a time, twice a day, every day and that makes it really effective. It also instills a discipline to keep floors clear and accessible. Well worth buying, although I’ve not bothered with the wi-fi functio

This cleaner is set up and ready to go in minutes. The cleaner does a great job on all surfaces and appears to accurately map of variety of rooms. I have a large property with mixed flooring and I do not have to change settings at all during the cleaning process. The application provides a host of features although access if you are visually impaired is somewhat challenging as many controls in the application have not been properly labelled and they should be addressed. I have found that higher suction modes give improved results on carpet, although the automatic variable mode is reasonable. Cleaning and emptying the machine is very straightforward, although the brush bar feels rather delicate as you insert it back into the machine. It is essential to clean the sensors with a dry cloth so that the machine performs accurately and I would advise doing this every few days.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLike many other people’s reviews, I have looked at these robot vacs for a long time and I am in full agreement with them in that I wish I had bought it sooner.
Setting up the wifi was a tad tricky as I had to go into the router hub manager to get the 5ghz working. Other than that it was easy. I set ‘Bob’ off every morning and he bounces around for approx 90 mins and then takes himself home to charge. You have to watch it the first time to ensure that any issues are sorted with the magnetic strips to stop him going to a certain area or falling down stairs etc.
I chose to get the 30c max after reading the reviews and it is amazing how much hair and stuff it picks up and how well it compacts it down into such a little area. I had to empty the bin after every session at the beginning but now it is after every 2 or 3 sessions and we have a dog who moults quite a bit. Our dog who does not like brooms or loud noises stays lying on the floor until Bob nudges him and then he walks off, so no problem. It is a joy to come downstairs every morning to find it lovely and clean. I would say without hesitation that this is the best bit of tech I have got in a long time and I seem to get a fair few new toys.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have had this for a week now, using it every day.

It is amazingly thorough. I was expecting it to bounce off furniture but it has its own logic. If you set it to do edges, it is really good at it. It cleans for about an hour – 100 minutes must be on a hard floor.

Pros. The floor has never looked cleaner. And the kids are actually picking up their stuff because they understand that the robot cannot operate if they drop stuff on the floor – no more nagging, it’s fantastic.

Cons. If you have lots of rugs, I wouldn’t bother – we tried tucking the tassels underneath but just getting up and down off the rugs made the brushes fall off.. We got rid of the rugs and it looks better!
You will need to empty and clean it each time (I don’t mind at all it’s only 2 minutes).
Otherwise I really cannot think of any.

    Tips.
Shut the machine in one room after another, if you can. You get better results.
For the first few times, don’t leave it unattended – you’ll see the trouble spots and fix them.
Clean the sensors when it says.
Don’t wash the filter – use a hairdryer to blow the dust out of the window. So satisfying!

I have been so impressed with this machine and I will update this review in due course hoping that I am still this impressed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was so undecided on getting one! Hours of reading up on reviews.. what model.. does it do this? Does it do that?

I live alone, flat, carpets, rugs and hard floors. Quick delivery, great packaging. Pretty much plug and play. Basic set up. Alexa paired with zero issues although it doesn’t really need it as the App just does everything, unless you really want to say “robovac (or what ever you call it) start cleaning”

The app sets schedules, which is a good idea. 8am. Robovac zooms off bumping from wall to object to wall. Remember this model has no Mapping but for its price range, power, app, speed settings and other functions, if your not sure it’s a good start model. It just means without mapping it will just bump around for its cleaning time and go home. Not really a problem in my circumstance.

The first few runs it was full up with dust, pet hair etc. But that’s due to having a Miele vacuum that can’t get to some places robovac can. So I was impressed.

The box came with spare brushes, filters and the app also takes you to a page to order spares when you need / recommends when to buy them and even a picture guide to help you install new bits!

    The only cons ..

Robovac does tend to get stuck on a few bits , I was aware of the reviews anyway but that’s due to .. it’s not small enough to fit under an object .. it will try but then I just put something in the way so it won’t go there again. Simple fix really.

I work full time. Hardly here at times. Either waking up to a nice clean carpet or knowing I don’t have to worry about getting a big Miele out if I just want to chill . I’ll still use my main vacuum obviously but this really surprised me in keeping up a little clean in-between cleans!

I don’t regret this purchase, maybe in the future I will look at a “mapping” model. But all that remains now .. what to call it for Alexa. RDD2

This is my first robot vac and I will not be going back to a manual one!
Time is saved no more hoovering.

Really happy with my eufy. Was straight forward to set up, even I (a dinosaur with very little tach-savviness) managed it in a few minutes. It cleans well and – most importantly – hardly ever gets stuck (and if it does it is usually because a door moved in its way)

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersOverall I’m very happy with it and the carpet has never looked so good! It does a good job….eventually!
If you sit watching it you’ll get frustrated at the bits it misses, but it will eventually cover that area as long as it can be done within its 40 minute window on full power. Its method is rather random as it bounces between obstacles using its sensors meaning it can simple turn around and go back where it just came from! Ours is the 15c so it has more suction and does a good job of picking everything up on full power, on the lower power settings it’s not much good. The filter needs cleaning after each session or two and the dirt it manages to find is quite surprising. Unfortunately, this model cannot respond to the edge strips you can buy to prevent it going places, so instead you have to watch it the first few times and block it physically from reaching certain areas, one example is our tv stand which it’s small enough to fit under but then gets subsequently stuck behind. It will beep and warn you in the app when it has a problem. It also struggles with dining room table and chairs, but gets out eventually. The only other issue is returning back to its base, it cannot seem to do this if it’s in another room. A few times we’ve found it sat in the corner of a room out of battery because it couldn’t find home. Overall it’s a great piece of kit and makes a difference to the carpet for sure, the cat hates it though!

This is such a fabulous gadget, my house has never looked so clean. It’s such fun as well. Love the spot and zone cleaning. Thought was just for hard floors, but works on carpet brilliantly. I even had ‘lawn stripes’ on my thick pile rug. Love it. Thank you

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWe’ve only been using this for a week, but can’t fault the performance so far.

The initial mapping was straightforward, although I didn’t let it go back to the charging dock, so the first attempt didn’t save. I’ve mapped downstairs and upstairs, without having to move the charging dock, which is really useful . The maps are fairly easy to edit once you get used to the app. It’s worth noting that if you clean one room from the master map, but leave the door closed it will save an imaginary wall and won’t allow the vacuum out of the room later – this can be fixed by re cleaning that room with the door open.

We have a mixture of hard floors, rugs and carpets and the X8 performs well on all of them – I like the fact that it automatically increases power when it senses a carpet or door mat.

It performs surprisingly well around furniture, especially where it’s a bit cluttered (dining table and chairs etc.), and it also corrects itself if items are in a different place to the original scan.

I generally run it in the lowest power setting and still get good results, I think the fact that it covers every part of the floor gives you a better clean than a manual vacuum.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDelighted with this machine which I purchased while recovering from major surgery. We have two dogs who generate a huge amount of pet hair – this machine picks up a full dust collector amount of this every morning. I set it for 7.30am each morning and it finishes most rooms in our largely hard floored bungalow and returns to base by 9am. I gave one less than five stars because I get slightly frustrated by its random approach to room cleaning and I sometimes close it in a room to ensure it covers the whole floor – however for the money it is excellent value and I may well invest in a more expensive programmable machine at a later date. Meanwhile a big bonus with this model is its ability to get under beds and cupboards to do a thorough clean. I do need to empty dust collector each day and rinse it and the filter with cold water and check rolling brushes but this involves minimal effort compared to traditional vacuuming and also proves how effective it’s cleaning power is. I still need to do an occasional traditional vacuum to cover all corners but otherwise I feel our house has never been cleaner.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEufus is a great addition to the family! This thing really sucks — in a good way of course! He runs around the house like an excited little puppy cleaning every possible nook and cranny and doing it pretty well. The fact that you can set him off whilst you’re out of the house to do his stuff is fabulous — you can set schedules to clean morning and night if you desire. Great fun little device and hope he lasts! The only downside is that if you want it to clean more than one floor, you have to do an additional map (so that is easy enough) and either get a second charging base or carry the base and Vac to the next floor — he hasn’t quite mastered stairs yet! I would highly recommend purchasing this if you want a lovely clean home. However, I would say that this would have to be a secondary device because he doesn’t do everything!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI have been aware of these products for many years, but not weakened and purchased one, I was sceptical about how much dust they hold because they are relatively small. My daughter has been using one for many years so I took the plunge. I started with a dumb one (one that worked its way around the room randomly), then opted for a smart one. The Smart version with LIDAR is definitely the one to choose if you have not got a square room. This version will map the room and learn where obstacles are located. I would buy another one of these products, if I needed one.
    Some things to note:
You do have to empty it after each use, it does have a small capacity.
You may need another vacuum cleaner to suck out the dust in the air filter, that worked for me rather than washing it regularly, they do provide two filters though.
You can train it to learn a room, and then add keep out areas. It can store multiple rooms, you just select the one it is in before you start it.
It will work around the edge of the area first and then cover the rest of the room. Typically 20 mins to do a lounge and dining room (with obstacles).
It picks up a surprising amount of dust and debris even when you use it daily and consider your floor was clean.
It picks up lots of hairs from a pet.
While I have trained it for two rooms, it does sometimes forget where it is and go off randomly. I have not figured out why, but for this reason alone I would not want it to be vacuuming a room while I am not around in the house. This occurs around 1 in 7 times, and may be because I move it between rooms.
Can I live without it – No, it gets a boring chore done very efficiently, and once you set it off and are confident it has figured out where it is in the room you can leave it to do it’s thing.
The app is ok, but a bit clunky to use. You can remotely check on where it is located and what it is doing.
It can negotiate hard floor to carpet boundaries.
There is a setting where it will automatically adjust the suction power depending on what it is vacuuming.
I started with a kitchen and garden room open plan area with few obstacles and a hard floor, it coped well with that and then moved to a more complex area with keep out zones programmed in.
I think compared to me vacuuming an area, I would be more confident in this product covering everywhere than me doing it by hand.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m not kidding! This robot has been amazing. We have a springer spaniel and a 4 year old who loves the out doors. My husband also loves muddy trial runs.. my son has named our robo vac Ralph and he works overtime in our house. It’s actually vacuums up more hair than our Dyson I totally love my Ralph . I set his schedule and it’s just works. I prefer having the manual dust collection so I can clean out the filter after even run. You will not regret getting one!

My third Eufy machine (the other 2 are still in use). The mapping technology is a game changer and ensures the whole floor is covered and more importantly once mapped the clean is undertaken methodically and therefore much quicker even with obstacles and it also know where the base station is. Of course it doesn’t clean the tops of skirtings etc, but neither does an ordinary vacuum unless you make the effort to do so. The occasional use of a Dyson handheld sorts that out. The Eufy simply works in keeping dust down through regular use. Negatives? It still surprisingly relies on 2.4 GHz wifi which is becoming outdated and occasionally it loses the signal whilst sitting on the chargebase. Probably a sign of the not so strong wifi I have in the particular property I’m using it rather than the Eufy itself.

We received our vacuum which didn’t work, saying the laser sensor was stuck.

I spoke to Amazon customer service which was absolutely awful. They said I could return it but they wouldn’t replace it or repair it. This so despite the right to repair or replacement in consumer rights act. I couldn’t order another one as it was bought in the Black Friday sale and was now more expensive.

I spoke to eufy and they were great. After realising their troubleshooting steps weren’t working they sent another vacuum out free of charge and took the old one back.

The second vacuum works really well and keeps our hard floor clean of dust and pet hair.

This thing is amazing and I say this with it scheduled to hoover my apartment 3x a week and is currently doing a very good job of it.

The only down side is it having only one sweeping brush some things get flown into areas what it can’t reach resulting in the manual hoover having to come out.

Overall however I’m not sure what I use to do without it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf like me, you were intrigued by the robotic vaccum’s for many years, but read reviews of poor suction power and major navigation issues, you will have held off making a purchase.

However, things have moved on massively.

Navigation is excellent, efficient, and once the rooms are mapped, it really is a time saving device.

Suction power across hardwood, filed and carpeted floor is very much up to the job.

I would suggest reading the documentation to get the most out of the vaccuum. Auto map switching, power switching are not enabled as default and are well worth enabling.

My ground floor is vacuummed in 45 minutes, while I can sit with my feet up.

My only negative is that the sensor can be confused by long mirrors, which is continually tries to “drive” through. Blocking the mirror, or creating a divider once the room has been mapped are solutions.

I admit I bought this on a whim with little expectation of actually keeping it. I thought I’d give it a go but would probably return after finding it not very effective. How wrong I was! It’s actually surprisingly good once you manage to set it up. Getting it to connect to my Wifi was a nightmare however and the installation instructions definitely need improving. To this day I’m still not sure how I managed to complete this! Hence I’ve knocked a star off for Easy to use. But once done, it’s really simple control using the app.

The X8 has surprisingly good suction. The spinning edge sweeper brush does a good job of getting up close to skirting boards, although admittedly, it can’t quite reach into corners. The dust container also seems to hold a fair amount and shouldn’t need emptying too often.

My only real quibble is the filter which gets choked and looks like it needs cleaning after every use. However, I think this is more to do with my carpets which seem to shed a fair amount. I may try leaving it for a few uses and see if the performance degrades.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with my X8, Amazon aren’t getting this one back!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe best purchase ever. Cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for this amazing product! It has changed my life, not being dramatic, we have 2 dogs and the amount of dried leaves and debris they bring in with them from the garden was exhausting (not to mention their fur too!). I use Eufy Robovac X8 1-2 times a day and can select which room needs cleaning. It can be used on multiple levels by moving the base. The technology on this device and app is impressive and I cannot live without this now. It saves me A LOT of time and takes away the hassle of cleaning! (No longer a chore!).
I did a lot of research before purchasing this for the power to pick up fur and was lucky enough to get this on prime day! It cleans up hair and gives you a little device to clean the roller too. I love how the device knows how to find its way back to the charging base, (it has needed a helping hand a couple times) but it doesn’t stop me from awarding this item with 5 stars! Love love love it and you won’t regret it, would highly recommend!

I brought it on Amazon prime day . 120 off so went and brought it and I must say I’m impressed . We have new carpets and a short haired dog and it still fills the collection tub up every time I send it out every two days , amazing how much crap is in your carpet . The only two things I had to do was : 1, when returning home it’s kept driving over the charge unit and pushing it out the way so I ended up using double sided tape to stick it to the skirting board 2, I have to untangle the roller each time which takes about two minutes with the included tool but worth it and empty the tub at the end of each run . Other than that I have had it a few months and I love it , you won’t be disappointed , small enough to get under my bed and units and works well with echo devices . It Gets around all my upstairs which is 48 square meters in just under an hour on one charge and doesn’t full down the stairs

This robot vacuum is amazing loved the fact that setup was a breeze, also using the app took less that 10 mins to get it configured and going round doing its thing. After the floor was mapped it diligently sets to work vaccuming at a time of my choosing. Just remember to clear away anything lying on the floor such as cables toys etc. Suction is great as it lifts pet hair from a Labrador no problems when on max and adjusts suction settings depending on the type of floor when set to auto, but that being said this machine was never bought to replace my normal cleaner nor would I expect it to. It climbs from laminate to rug’s easily some of which in my home are fairly thick. It is also easy to empty and the dust collector bin which is fairly well sized will go for a few days between empties. After using this robot for about a week it has never gotten stuck or failed to return to its charger and hardly used anything battery wise even on maximum setting, overall I am extremely happy with my purchase as it does everything that it was advertised to do and more than exceeded my expectations.

We tried this after an iRobot that was about 100 cheaper. It is night and day. It has accurate mapping, intelligently and methodically tracks the room (instead of just banging off things cleaning haphazardly until the battery runs out), has built in virtual boundaries and no go areas and generally works much faster (30 mins for our downstairs vs over an hour for iRobot). Manual control is a nice touch as is the service status page showing when we’d need to change over consumable parts.

Couldn’t be more pleased with this.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I am really impressed. Quite expensive but pleased I got the laser guided model. I’m now working from home and set the robo vac to run every second day. I have the upstairs mapped and downstairs and physically move it from one to the other. So long as the floor is clear of objects, it cleans very well without any assistance. The dust collector is fairly full after each use, but compacts the dust and fibres and so is clearly picking up a lot each time of kitten fur, dust and dirt that would otherwise be left for our weekly vacuum. I’ve noticed less alergy symptoms since we’ve been using it and it saves so much time. The video clip shows it finishing it’s clean and going back to charge and you can see how much it has collected. I’ve also included a screen shot of the mapped floor from the app and you can see the cleaning pattern. It seems to change pattern each time it cleans.

Even my wife is impressed with Roby

I would highly recommend this RoboVac. It works really well and is very easy to use and setup. We run ours every night for the downstairs of our house, it takes about 30 mins. It not “quite”, but it manageable. Ours has a little bit of a challenge docking (due to where i have put it base), but it always gets there in the end. I have to empty the bin maybe once a week (depending how much muck my kids bring in).

The only annoying thing was that 1 week after i bought it Amazon did a deal where it was about 100 less. So that was a little annoying.

An excellent vacuum which cleans with strong suction picking up everything, including hair, from both my thick pile carpet and laminate flooring. Unfortunately you can only use Alexa to start cleaning generally and not specific rooms but I hope that this will be addressed in the future.

Bought this to replace my 30c after the motor wore out. This thing is absolutely amazing. The amount of hair and dust it picked up in comparison is amazing. The build quality of the X8 is much better than the 30c, including a more airtight collection bin and simplified filter.

The map feature is great although the multi level feature could be clearer. For anyone who struggled to find a straightforward answer. Yes it does multi floors, but you have to enable it in the app and then either mover the charging base to another floor or buy a second charge base (~40) to enable the vacuum to save the floor layout. I have discovered that the old 30c charge base will charge the X8 but haven’t checked whether it will return there and enable a floor layout save. I imagine if you’re not fussed for it saving another floor you could just carry it back down when you notice it finishing.

Not tried the Alexa/smart home integration but I set mine on a schedule within the Eufy app and let it do its thing. Scheduling seems straightforward and you can set completely separate schedules for different days/times, much like a phones alarm.

One gripe is the fussy requirements for the base location. With the vacuum it sticks out a fair way and in a fair sized 2 bed, there are almost no locations suitable. I do have a few drawers around the house that it would be perfect to sit under but would not meet the recommended requirements for positioning the charge base…

My old smart vacuum (a Samsung powerbot VR9000 named Dobby) started to die, so I started looking around a lot for a good deal on a new model. I landed on the Eufy X8 and I’m pleased I did.

It is much quiter than Dobby was, even at max suction it’s probably about 2/3 the noise level. The suction/cleaning is better than Dobby managed, and can get closer to the edges and corners of rooms too.

I’m also really pleased with the smart features, including Alexa integration, but most particularly the live map it drew of my flat and that it marks its progress/route in real time.

It also gives verbal acknowledgments (e.g. “dust basket removed” or similar) so you know what it’s up to, and if you have put the dust trap back in correctly.

Really impressed with it, and have named it Kreacher to keep on-theme.

Around 2 years ago my aunt tried to convince me to buy a robot vacuum but I thought that we have our faithful Dyson so no point spending extra money for novelties.
My husband is very much into his tech stuff and follows a YouTube channel done by Paul Hibbert. One of the episodes, Paul was reviewing Eufy and I found it astounding how well it was picking up pet hair.
Since we have two constantly shedding doggos, it’s impossible to keep the house hair free and I was always embarrassed whoever came to visit. Having watched the review we got convinced (or desperate) to buy it.
My hubby set it all up, done the mapping and connected to Alexa. We called our Eufy Mr Carsen, who is set up to hoover every day at 11am. So he goes on his rounds every day and I am shocked to see how much he picks up! Pet hair problem disappeared. What I found as well is that not only its clean everywhere, there’s also less dust build up on the furniture – I think that now I would be lost without it. Only thing I do is to mop the floors (we didn’t want the one with mopping option). I am beyond happy and find that it was worth every single penny!

When you combine eufy/Anker, Robot Vacuum Cleaners, and Smart Homes, you get the X8 And it’s really good!

Gone are the days of having your Robot vacuum blindly bump it’s way round your house, making one random turn after another, hoping it can cover as much of your space as possible, but ultimately taking much longer to do it, and missing quite a bit in the process. The X8 not only has the suction power to do most jobs, it’s got intelligent navigation that will allow it to map your room, and strategically clean them as well.

The X8 will start to map the room the first time you use it. It’s a good idea to have the app downloaded, and linked with the X8 before you start. Once you do tell it to go, it’ll work it’s way round the outskirts of your home, scanning as it goes. You’ll see a close to real time view of the house being updated as it goes on the app. Once it’s done this, it will try to split the map into rooms, and it will start cleaning within those rooms, working up and down or side to side until it’s covered all of the surface. The Vacuum is always scanning, so any changes in the room will be detected and it will work round them next time. If for example you have it do it’s first run but left the bathroom door closed, it’s not going to know there’s a room there. But if it’s open next time, the X8 will scan the room and add it to the map.

Once you’ve got a complete map, you can make adjustments, like editing the rooms, tell the machine which rooms to steer clear from, or section off specific parts of a room. If you have multiple floors(levels) in your house, you can place the X8 on the 2nd floor and it will do as it did on the first one, and since it doesn’t know where it is now, it will create a 2nd map and begin building it. MAKE SURE to enable multiple floors in the app though, if you don’t the vacuum will start replacing your originally scanned map. You can name each floor once it’s done, and like before, you can manage or edit the rooms to your liking.

The X8 stays in sleep mode when docked on its charger. If you press the button on top to start it, it will clean the entire floor it’s on, and return to the charger and go back to sleep. If you place it on a floor(level) where it doesn’t have access to a charge base, it will stay in sleep mode until you ask it to clean, and then return to the room you left it in. You’ll get a message on your phone reminding you that it’s unable to charge.

From this point, things are fairly automated. Set a schedule to have it clean each night, or ever couple of nights when you’re in bed, or when you’re at work, and when you come back, the job is done. The bin is big enough that it can clean my house several times before you need to empty it. Although I’d recommend that the first time you use it, empty it right away because it will go places you’ve not been able to get to before with your vacuum, and it’ll pick up A LOT. If you want to take a bit more control, you can have the X8 clean a specific room only, or have it clean a “spot” by tapping the map and it’ll go there and clean at full power, then return home. There’s also zone cleaning which is great for the rug. You can mark out approximately where the rug is, and ask the machine to do a clean of that area. It’s handy for is as that’s where our kid plays, and so often there’s glitter, crumbs, and whatever else she can make a mess with. You can have the machine do multiple runs in the zone, and while doing this, it will run over the surface from different directions each time it does it so that it’s getting the best angles against the carpet grain. If you’re feeling particularly controlling, you can jump into the settings and fully control the X8 like a remote control car, although it’s not as thrilling as it sounds. There’s a point and go feature in the setting too, so you can tell the vacuum to head somewhere without cleaning and wait there. I use this when I’m going to clean it, It’ll wait in the kitchen near the bin.

Suction power is insane, and on the maximum setting, it gives this thing a real advantage over a lot of the other robot vacuums, and even a lot of normal cordless stick machines. Most of the time, the minimum setting is actually perfect, especially if you’re on hard floor or thin carpets. I’ve popped a video on here with it cleaning sprinkles off of a rug which is about an inch thick and it’s quite shaggy. For any deeper carpets, you might want to increase the suction power a bit. If your house has multiple different surfaces, there’s an auto detect feature that will vary the power to match the floor type that it’s on. It’ll even do an OK job of a deeper clean when on it’s maximum settings, but this is still a Robot vacuum and its small form factor is still a limiting factor for those really ground in jobs. I don’t have any pets to test for pet hair, but it handles my girlfriends really long hair with no issues at all.

There’s also smart home integration here, and if you’ve got Google Home or Alexa set up, you’ll be able to use these to start cleaning with just a voice command.

In terms of maintenance, there’s a filter in the bin which needs cleaned each time you empty it, fairly easy. There’s a small brush included which is attached to the bin, you just brush out the dust, pop it back in and you’re good to go. The spinning bristles on the outside of the machine don’t really need any day to day cleaning. In fact, if I was to take them off the machine now, you’d think they were brand new still. There’s a spare set of these bristles as well as an extra filter in the box. The brush head also might need a bit of maintenance from time to time, no more than a normal vacuum though. The cleaning brush attached to the bin also contains a small safety cutter which you can use to cut of any hair that gets stuck to the brush head. Again, I don’t think you’ll need to do this very often unless you’ve got some extreme pet hair situations going on, in which case, expect to clean it as often as you’d clean any other.

So, would I recommend the eufy X8? 100% yes. Be prepared to store your old vacuum away, and only have it out on those odd occasions where you’ve got some real ground in dirt on the floor, or you want to do the stairs! Running this thing every day or two will take care of your full house’s general vacumming needs, it will get to places you often don’t (right under the bottom of a couch), and it’ll do it all while you’re at work or in bed if you like. Oh, and at the point of writing this review, the X8 is currently sitting at almost 100 off the price I paid for it. Enjoy!

One less job for me to do around the house.

Only 2 days in but really impressed.

Initial setup was easy, connection to wi-fi & Alexa straightforward.

The mapping seems to work really well apart from a couple of hiccups when first creating the map – I would recommend physically blocking any areas you don’t want the vac to access for the initial setup (it managed to get beneath the tv cabinet and had an argument with some speaker cables). You can then set exclusion zones and virtual barriers once the map is created. It took 37 minutes to map my 3 bed bungalow, after which there was still almost 80% battery left.

I have only had it running on it’s lowest setting and considering I had vacuumed 2 days earlier it picked up a lot (see photo), probably because it gets into places often missed with the conventional vacuum.

    First impressions are good 👍

We bought this as a step up from a Robovac G30 model and I consider it a vast improvement. The ability to store different maps is really useful – it is a little odd that multi map is turned off by default as you lose the map you’ve already created when you turn it on! It It is slightly taller than the cheaper model so won’t go under some bit of furniture but the navigation is really good and it is much faster than I expected. We have a mixture of carpets, rugs, and vinyl flooring and it copes well with all of them, picking up an amazing amount of fluff, grit, pet hair etc and stuffing it all in the built in waste holder. Alright, it wasn’t cheap but we’re delighted with the results..

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSooooo, I love this. We call him guffy as kids thought the e was g. And he is brill. He maps out the rooms and gives a great clean which is what I need with 2 large dogs and 2 kids. He fits under tables and I can’t fault him.
The integration with Alexander has never been a problem you can tell Alexander to send him cleaning and can see on your phone where he is and what he has done. The app works very well and if he needs a sensor clean then it’ll ping up. Very easy to set up. Works great on carpet, uneven slate floors and laminate. Just make sure to pick up any wires or anything that can get caught as it’s usually tje playstation wires my kids leave on the floor!
If upstairs again sometimes it can get under the bed and if you have anything under there is may get stuck and have difficulty getting out.
No text for when its full though so empty it after each clean as you will be surprised how much it picks up.
Won’t fall downstairs, different suction modes which it can do automatically. Basically everything it says it can do…it does.
    Just don’t step on him!

The best fella a girl can ask for. My husband and I got Brian (you can name it what ever you like) for ourselves for Christmas. With two dogs and two teens, our house has never been cleaner. Shame it doesn’t do the washing and cooking. Girl can dream though.

A fantastic upgrade. We had. RoboVac 15C Max and loved it but I was tempted by this new model. I was unsure about upgrading but it was 100% the right decision. We still use our RoboVac upstairs but the X8 is fantastic. Individual room cleaning, boundaries and mapping all make for an exceptional clean.

We have contacted Anker customer services over a concern and they were next level helpful. I cannot fault the product and would (have) recommended the company. First class care and support.

    Very impressive.
A few glitches on the App. But the hoover is very good indeed

I’ve been toying with the idea of a robot vacuum cleaner for a while and finally took the plunge. I chose this model as it has the laser scanning and the reviews of the Eufy app were very good. I agree, the app is very easy to navigate and the operation and setup is very simple.

My wife, who raised an eyebrow when it turned up is now also impressed, we have a black labrador, when ever we empty the dust collector it is very evident that his hairs have been picked up. We also sent our hoover in as an experiment to the sitting room after our real Christmas tree was removed, it took two passes to be completely clear, but the robovac did a fantastic job.

I’m not suggesting that this can replace a good old fashioned thorough vacuum around the house, but to stay on top of dog hairs, children’s crumbs, dry boot mud etc it is well worth it in my opinion. the spot cleaning function is very handy, but we mostly use the individual room(s) function when we are not in there. They aren’t cheap, but so long as the robovac lasts a few years, I would recommend it hands down.

I’m a proud owner of the older robovac and decided to upgrade after having a 1.5 year old toddler who loves eating and running around the flat. The new robovac x8 is a major step up from the old 30c which does an amazing job. If you can’t stand dust, crumbs and crap on your floor this new twin turbine does it much better than the older generation robovac.

Absolutely amazing. The best thing I have bought in ages. Easy to set up. Cleans well. Just wish it could get up and clean the sofa as well.

Works really well, app is very simple to use and cleans like nothing I’ve owned before.

The only mild hangup I’ve had is occasionally it won’t recognise the room when doing a room clean and it needs to go back to charger and start again, but this is pretty infrequent.

I’ve tested this robot quite a lot since purchase. It’s very good at mapping and cleaning. If you select all the rooms x2 rather than auto mode it will do the floor horizontal and vertical making sure it gets everything! It works well with vertical boundaries and no go areas you set in the app. My partner split a bag of pasta and surprisingly it got them all bar 1 which was very impressive. It’s not the quietest of vacuums but it seems good quality and gets the job done.

LiDAR is definitely the way to go

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWell, I’ve had this RoboVac for a couple of weeks and I’m so impressed. The LiDaR navigation is exceptional. The RoboVac X8 is able to map my home and then hoover to very precise locations. I found the app very easy to use. The suction is very powerful. It can get to inaccessible places like under my bed and sofa because it has a very low profile. it hasn’t committed hari-kari and dived off the stairs YET so it’s got brains. To be honest it’s made hoovering fun. The picture depicts one run upstairs and one run downstairs. I can’t imagine how it packed it all in and there was still more dirt to come out!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my first Robovac and I’m wondering how I ever managed to live without one.

It took 10 minutes to set up, an hour to fully charge and on its first clean, it completely mapped out our open plan living area, getting under the sofa and sideboards, and into all the areas that are difficult to take a handheld vacuum to.

After one cycle, I was astounded at how much dust and debris it picked up. I’ve since put it to work on two other floors and it’s handled them without issue.

The app is also fantastic, it’s got a great UI and integrated with Google Home flawlessly.

    Very Impressive Robovac

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNever had a robo vac before and only just used it but wanted to give a first review.
I have to say that so far I am super impressed. So simple to set up and right out of the box it just started to map my kitchen/diner, toilet and lounge…total of about 70m2. I was surprised to see what it had sucked up after its initial run. Love the way the brush gets right into the corners etc.
Will posta further review once it’s been used for a bit.
Update. It’s had a slight room mapping issue but no real bother.
I don’t think you can compare these to a manual vacume. A manual vacume will pick up anything you want it to if you go over it enough times BUT how much of a floor do you miss when you are vacuming manually? The robo vac hits every area so I find overall it does a far superior job than me with a manual.

We managed to find a 100 off voucher which made this only 100 more than the other Eufy robovac we were looking at so for an extra 100 we thought we’d get the one with mapping and are so glad we did! Takes a bit of getting used to and can’t take it for granted – let it do it’s thing but don’t be surprised if it can’t find its charging base if you’ve manually moved it around to catch some areas you want it to do. It is our first robot vacuum but we’re very impressed. It does as much as we could ask for but it isn’t human so can’t reach all of the spots you could – but we have cats that track litter through the house so it’s perfect to do a daily clean to pick that up from our hard floors! It is crazy how much dust it does collect in just one go. We have a nice sized 4 bed house and it does the whole downstairs with plenty of charge to spare. Rarely found it had issues finding the base unless like I say you’ve ruined it’s map by moving things around or closing/opening doors but even then it doesn’t have an issue every time. We’ve had it for a week so time will tell but so far, very pleased and have used it every day (sometimes a couple of times because of forementioned cats!!). I am so glad we got the money off due to our budget, I think I could say it is worth the price based on other models we were looking at around the price point and the fact that it has mapping- we feel lucky to have got the money off so I think it is worth it!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is our 3rd vac since Sept. started with Ecobacs N8 which broke! Then a coredy which we hated so returned and now this.
This is brilliant. Mapping good. Suction excellent. The laser technology is superior. It does not bang hard into things but gently realises path is blocked and moves on. Getting onto wifi dead easy. Only issue is understanding app. Not most simple but in 5 days Im learning its functions. Ive tried a spot clean. Room clean etc and its really methodical in its method. My cats are ok with it whereas they hated Coredy and this returns to base if runs out of battery.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersMy first RoboVac, and I’m not disappointed. Setup was simple enough, and after letting it charge FULLY, I let it carry out a full clean so it could map my apartment. Overall it took around 50 mins to clean a visible floor area of around 45m^2, navigating obstacles and borders with ease.

At no point did mine say it needed a top up to the charge – Over an hour of testing later and well, it definitely didn’t cry for more battery (probably because I left it to charge… Fully… For a while before testing…), and on finishing it found the base with no problems either – Although it took a few stabs at mounting it before lining itself up properly.

I ran a couple of test spot cleans and a single room clean after this, and each time it found the base no problem, and didn’t need any additional attempts at realigning itself.

There were a couple of times where it left a little dust bunny, but considering I hadn’t vacuumed for a couple of weeks in anticipation of buying this to give it a good test, it did a pretty sterling job of picking up about 99.9% of dust and other bits.

I’ve set it to speak in Japanese just for fun, considering any major issues get flagged via notification on the app anyways. I have yet to play around with scheduling, but that looks to be straight forward enough, with the ability to choose days/times/rooms etc.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersSummary: Great vacuum and the LIDAR/Sensors allow it to be less sporadic like the ‘random’ directional robots. It seems to have a strategy for cleaning the room and sets off based on schedules with various types of clean (auto/room specific) and the ability to set the suction power within an app that is very intuitive.

    Pros:
    * Strong suction with 4 settings to choose from & BoostIQ function to improve suction on carpets etc.
    * LIDAR is able to map the room well & the robot can find the best path home without hitting obstructions.
    * The 650ml storage for dust/debris is fairly large and easy to detach.
    * Vacuum comes with some spares for a side-sweeper and air-filter & a tool to cut hair from the rotary sweeper.
    * Ability to share the vacuum with other family members on the app is fantastic.
    * Ability to move the dock without having to re-map the room, it takes a few seconds to realise where it now is located in the house.
    * No-Go zones work well & it actively avoids these.
    * The app has some extensive FAQ & maintenance tips on how to clean/maintain the robot.

    Cons:
    * Make sure the docking station is in a wide-open area where possible, we encountered an issue where our vacuum knocked the dock and was unable to dock correctly. It spent a few minutes attempting to dock until we moved it back.
    * Make sure you watch it as it goes around your house the first-time to ensure you can mark any hazards with ‘No-Go zones’. Ours found a few cables under a table and got stuck, I marked this area for the future so it doesn’t happen again – teaches us to be tidier!
    * I wish cleaning Zones could be marked/left in the app permanently. For example, next-to a table may get crumbs etc rather than the entire room, so being able to clean just one zone quickly would be good.

First impressions, the packaging is vibrant and includes spares of various elements such as the air-filter and side-sweep. This is my first ‘robotic’ vacuum though a family member once owned one, many years ago and it certainly was a gimmick. Though, time and technology gave me faith that this could be much better.

After unboxing, to setup – All that’s required is to factory reset the device (holding both the far-left & far-right button together) and open your app, it should then pick up the device nearby and prompt you for a Wi-Fi password. Please note, it seems to only accept 2GHz networks not 5GHz, if you have a router that broadcasts these combined that shouldn’t be an issue. Just remember to pull the foam-tabs out from the side of the bumper and place the docking station somewhere out the way.

First things first, I made the mistake of tucking the docking station in a congested corner but once I’d moved it, the first ‘auto clean’ the robot started to go around the perimeter of a room, then starts to cycle through the interior of the room in rows. The vacuum seems to have a few sensors mounted around the bottom to detect potential falls/edges so it doesn’t drop but also has a top-mounted LIDAR sensor alongside a front/right side sensor as it tends to go around a room using the front/right sensor to detect the perimeter or other obstructions and LIDAR to map the all surroundings.

I am impressed with how well it avoided objects after a gentle tap, it rotates and circles around feet on our sofa, for example. The vacuum has a ‘BOOST IQ’ setting that allows it to improve its suction power on carpets, this feature worked well and a ‘spot clean’ allows the vacuum to use its max suction setting in a specific area.

I’d certainly move any obstructions from the floor & use the ‘no-go zones’ to ensure the vacuum doesn’t attempt to hoover any accessible cables etc. It may take a few tweaks of these zones to ensure it covers the exact area but after a few minutes using the zone setting it’s avoided all the areas I highlighted in the app fine.

I’ll update this review if we encounter any issues but scheduling a clean once or twice a day, should help save us some time going around manually with the hoover as this seems to pick up dust in areas that are often missed, great addition to the house so far!

    Impressed, so far!

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersAfter living with this for a few weeks, I can hands down say this is AWESOME!!! This is my second foray into robo hoovers, and this is Eufy’s newest flagship model (X8 Series), which I have upgraded to from a Past Eufy model, it is vastly superior in every way!

Upon opening up the mystical brown Amazon box, the eufy box staring back at me was a thing of beauty. It really does have a premium feel, which is extended to the robovac itself, but more on that later.

I have absolutely waxed lyrical to all who would (and all who didn’t want to) listen about my last Eufy robovac. I still stand by the fact that that robo hoover is the best purchase I have ever made, so why the upgrade to this new model? Well – mainly because this model has what was lacking from the last – namely LiDAR (or laser mapping & tracking). This new model will scan the room as it goes and it therefore knows exactly where it is. As it scans, it builds up a map (which is saved) of the floor layout, and it can have multiple maps saved, so it knows exactly where it is, and what part of the room it has and hasn’t cleaned.

This new map feature allows for enhanced features, such as the ability to clean a single room or area, or if you have spilled something and need to spot clean, you don’t have to go and pick up the robovac and manually place it, you just use the app to make where it needs to spot clean and it makes its way there.

As I mentioned briefly this robovac oozes high quality, and basically everything that was good with my Other Eufy Robovac has been improved here. Little touches like the roller brush cleaning tool storage in the top of the dust collection are brilliant design choices – with the Other robovac, it was supplied but I think it was put in a drawer and forgotten about. An enhanced charging base is welcome which features little upgrades, such as a smaller size, more ‘grippy feet’ and a cover to hide the power cables, again it just feels more premium.

This unit is heavier than past robo hoovers, but I’m guessing that is due to the extra tech needed to run the laser system, as well as a larger battery which is needed to power the 2 turbines as opposed to the single, as well as extending the run time up to 180 minutes.

As was the case with past models, this robovac is voice controlled through a home assistant such as Alexa, Siri or Google home but mainly for simple commands like ‘tell robovac to start cleaning’. This little feature is great for our 4 year old, as he can ask Alexa to start cleaning and he feels so grown up as he is ‘hoovering’ the house, just like mummy and daddy.

As is always the case with robotic vacuums, a tidy, less cluttered house is better so it can find the easiest routes, and frequent cleans are better than infrequent ones – we tend to have it on a schedule (direct from the app), for first thing in the Morning, and also last thing at night, every day – this keeps our house spick and span!

This is the worlds first twin turbine robo vac providing 2 x2000pa worth of power (twice the amount of the other robovac), but with this vastly improved suction power, comes a vastly increased noise. So much so, when my wife came home from work and it was on max suction power, she asked where the jet engine noise was coming from – although she did say it had done a really good job of cleaning the kitchen floor.

Due to the laser navigation, this robo hoover is a little taller than my last one, this is not necessarily a good thing, as it can’t fit underneath everything the old one could, such as a chest of drawers, and also some of the tubular radiators in our house, which are a little lower than the rest, not a deal breaker, but something to consider.

The LiDAR feature is absolutely fantastic, as it will scan your room and know EXACTLY where it is!! And when finished cleaning, rather than limp back to the charging base (as other Eufy models have done), it rushes back with authority taking the most direct route.

The one major issue I have found is due to an enhanced side brush design. We have a mixture of floors in our house, ranging from tiles, wooden flooring, carpet and even travertine tiles which were laid by the old choose owners – we moved in 6 years ago and have meant to change them, but we’ve never found the time – anyway – over these tiles, we have a very thick pile rug, think shag pile rug. It’s very warm, and cosy, but the new design of the side brush means that it gets tangled up in this thick carpet and the robo hoover cannot move unless it is physically, with quite a bit of force, Pulled out of the carpet – this unfortunately renders it useless in our living room. The older Robovac never had this problem and would happily hoover this carpet all day long, so it’s a consideration you should take into account if you have rugs that have a rather long and thick pile – All other flooring types this hoover has been fantastic on picking up more dust then before (which was already substantial), due to its increased suction.

Another tiny tiny Issue is the top of the robo hoover – from the pictures, the blue and pink bits look as though they are 3D and sculpted bits of plastic trim, alas, they are just a printed image made to look 3D. This is really nothing major, but something that bugged me a little, as I’m all images it looks great, but in reality it’s very ‘flat looking’, However the carbon fibre effect trim looks very snazzy indeed!

If you are upgrading, like myself from another Eufy, there are slight differences and upgrades, the main one being the spot cleaning method – where before it moved around in an increasing, and then decreasing spiral pattern – now the robovac hovers a small square section approx 1m x 1m as if it we’re cleaning a whole room (think cleaning the perimeter first, and then going back and forth in the middle). This way is probably more efficient than the spiral method, but i found it initially odd that they had changed the algorithm.

Is this the perfect robo hoover? I’m sure it’s pretty close – I’d say it definitely is the best value for money robo hoover as it features great technology and features you would tend not to see on the more budget friendly robo vacs – LiDAR is normally reserved for the top end category vacuums, which I suppose this is (albeit with a slightly cheaper price tag).

It is definitely an upgrade to the My year old eufy robovac although there are some slight issues which may mean you want to buy that one rather than this one such as the overall height, noise and weight – although the cleaning power of this one is far superior – for example, check out the dust they was collected on one floor of the house, after the Year old robovac had already been round the day prior – it even managed to pick up 7p! You can also see the nice lines it leaves in the carpet – almost like the way grass is cut on a football pitch.

Eufy robovacs always tend to have various deals and offers on throughout the year so if you can grab this when there is an offer on, you have yourself an absolute bargain, but even at its RRP it is still great value for money!

As is the case with my other robovac review here, on Amazon I will continue to update this review based on usage, and any issues or successes I have along the way.

Thanks for taking the time to read this behemoth of a review, if you’ve got this far, and I hope It’s been helpful one way or another.

Impressive. Most impressive - albeit a bit loud.
