Took a little getting used to but the saw is good, sturdy and accurate. If you buy one take a little time to get to know it. I’d reccomend this.
Brilliant saw and multi-use blade – worth 5 stars
Supplied with a 1200mm track which is useful
Let down by
1. No track clamps – which are only available on the Evolution site and only with expensive next day shipping
2. The saw comes with an outlet for waste connection, meant to connect to a vacuum cleaner which is ok if using the saw in a workshop. At other times a cheap dust bag would be very useful and should be included
3. The track comes in 3 sections which are connected by sliding bars. These can prevent the use of the track clamps (depending on the width of the workpiece)
I’ve purchased a fair few Evolution tools and none have ever disappointed.
Got this particular item for trimming doors and it makes quick work of it. Track provided is only 1m so you will have to purchase additional if you’re doing long lengths
Cheap and cheerful and what does an excellent job for ADI wire Stoke professional person.
This piece of kit is amazing and very powerfully. Looks good to and does the job. Recommend to all.
Trimming the straight edge guide is tricky (wear goggles) but apart from that am really happy with this product.
fantastic saw I was making some big gates and this saw helped me do it all in a lot less time, accurate sawing and so so easy to use, plus I got the tracking with iot which will come in handy for me in a few weeks time, Fantastic.
Excellent track saw for the DIY man.
And the blade is very good for cutting through pretty much anything in its path.
Good track saw but awful design dust extraction is non existent had to retu
The product is great for the money. I used fest make for years in my old work place. This does the job great just need to change the blade for a smooth finish.
I’ve always liked the evolution range and this is no exception. Great build quality, built to last and the cut is so precise. Great deal.
Very accurate cuts easy to use and good value for money excellent produc
I quite like Evolution tools and this is certainly good value. Only slight downside is that the saw seems to stick towards the end of the track and needs a bit of additional pressure applied to complete the cut.
Have the feeling that this isn’t a new saw. Box already opened and cellotaped back, half the polystyrene missing, saw lose in the bottom of the box. It feels like Amazon sold me a customer return. So full marks to Evolution for a well priced quality saw, but Amazon could do better. Update…..and in less that 24 hrs I have a brand new shinny saw, thanks Amzon.
Bought this to cut through a new oak worktop. Really clean cut with no burrs. Worked a treat. Plastic footplate no scratching of scarring.
I haven’t gotten on well with circular saw in the past, but the Evolution, together with the cutting guides make sawing up 8 x 4 sheets pf 3/4 inch ply an absolute doddle! Highly recommended!
The track that is supplied with the saw is essentially completely useless without clamps. As no clamps are supplied with this package u have to buy them separately to even use this product as a track saw. All that said it is a great saw, and the feels secure and smooth on the track. Just buy one of the other sets.

Very easy to use. The power lead is a decent length, which has been an issue on some other things I’ve bought recently. I can’t fault it. I’d happily buy the same again if I needed another.
Not had chance to use it yet but my grandson as said it’s brillia

I was looking for a tool to cut Melamine this was perfect. Bear in mind you have to put shiny/feature face downwards/facing the worktop to avoid the blade ripping on the upstroke. People in the comments were clearly cutting it wrong as you can see from my photo it’s a razor fine finish. Strongly recommend! P.S I used the standard blade that came with it! I didn’t use the tracks as it’s easier to use timber and two clamps
Talking as a novice DIYer: I got this to assist me in making some structures for my garden. A chicken shelter and also a chicken run. Also with a view of using it to cut fence posts to size in the future when I replace all my fencing.
I couldn’t be more please with this. I was daunted by it as it was my first major power tool purchase beyond a drill. But I took to it really well and got to grips with it.
It really is powerful and accurate. It is simple to change the angle.
I love the handles. Coated in rubberised material really aids my grip and that combined with the ergonomic positioning really helps me hold and use it confidently.
I like how easy it is to replace the blade by always having the correct Allen key, which is conveniently to hand by being slid and stored into the handle.
The only thing I do not like about it is the circular saw blade had orangey yellow print on it, which obviously gets distorted after use but due to the colour it gives the appearance of rust. Change the print to green or blue!
I’m really please with this and glad I spent a bit extra and went for the top of my budget. I could have got a circular saw cheaper but I doubt I’d have been as pleased with it.
I haven’t used the guide rail yet but I will be to cut some board when I make a workbench for my garage. Its a nice extra that will come in handy. It looks strong and robust.
My carpenter friend who works on listed and historical buildings, had a look at this and said it was a good bit of kit.
Arrived quickly and in good order. This saw works well and is excellent value based on its quality and cost.
Evolution Power Tools R185CCSX Multi-Material Circular Saw
Hello ! I am very satisfied with this product, but I did not find the transport bag in the package.
Cuts with ease. Very powerful motor. Glides through long flat pieces of wood very easily. I did a lot of research before buying this particular product. I didnt want anything to cheap or over priced like the Dewalt and Festal options.
Had to buy separate track since one supplied to short for 4 foot ply sheet. But once this was obtained it was easy to set up and gave a smooth accurate cut.
This does all that it’s supposed to do.
The supplied blade is especially useful for cutting used timber that may contain metal. It also cuts mild steel and plastic although, if you want really clean cuts in wood, a finer toothed wood blade is better.
he saw itself is exceptional cuts straight and true once you calibrate the base plate for a 50mm offset and not the 51mm it shipped with. The track however is a pile of junk, its truly terrible, you would think 3 pieces of extruded aluminum would be taken from the same length which it obviously wasn’t as none of the tracks line up there are gaps between the joins and not a single one lined up with any part of the others. Terrible track, the good thing is you can buy this saw without it for much less and the saw is compatible with mostly all other track systems.
Tool itself if really good value for money, but track it a bit flimsy
The saw is great, the track is useless.
I bought this track saw as I have a evolution single bevel mitre saw and after squaring the blade and fence it performs pretty well. The first thing I noticed was the tracks were cut badly and so obviously not straight or square, so the first thing I did was to cut them so when I attach them to each other they are now square. The second thing is the plastic gauge should be cut with a piece of wood underneath otherwise the saw cuts it unevenly, then again I didn’t read the manual as I’ve used a track saw before, maybe they mentioned it. I would recommend this saw purely because the price is great.
great well built item the guide clamps do not have clamps evolution state contact them for them they do not have them you can get substitutes but they are pricey for what they are
Really nicely made and good value for domestic use. Don’t know how well it would stand up to commercial use but feels solid, nice details, clean cut and the track system is really simple and handy for “unskilled” users.
It’s a really good saw; it gets only 4 stars because it’s difficult to get the track straight.
The saw feels really well made, I can’t really justify the higher price of premium brands. I am delighted with the accuracy and power. A be little bit on the heavy side but also stable and powerful with the additional bonus of the track. Great buy.
Weighty saw, looks and feels like quality tool with easy, sturdy adjustment and control levers. Unfortunately 3 sections of track look like donkeys hind leg when connected together. First job was to square off track ends. Problem remedied quickly but better quality control would have prevented issue. I suspect track pieces supplied are odd off cuts which would otherwise have been discarded. Generally pleased with purchase.
used it few times and easy to use and guide is good shame you can’t choose what guide length you need

What a surprise package this is, bought it to replace burnt out Hitachi, what a great Saw, came with small track system which is OK, but ordered 2nd larger track system, and now have guide rail system to cut half sheets, full sheets and doors, came with multicut blade which is great, so also ordered 2no finer tooth blades for smoother cuts. One package that runs with the best.

Excellent product, cuts smoothly and in perfect straight line. Amazing value
It comes with a multi material blade which means it doesn’t matter if you hit a nail.
Also, with a track that works fine.
Only criticism is the track doesn’t come with clamps so I had to purchase them separately.
I don’t understand other reviews that said the track was junk. Maybe they didn’t put it together properly leaving a 1-2mm gap at the joints.
I purchased a ‘plunge cut’ saw from Rutlands & sent it back, it was junk.
You can use this saw as a ‘Plunge Cut’ as well as everything else.
Highly recommended.
I bought this for my husband for Christmas so have asked him what he thought of it. Good saw works well. You need the longer guides to make it easy.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Can’t fault it so far and from previous tools bought from the brand last well.

Great saw easy to use I’ve used it to cut a kitchen worktop and it makes a great job only down side is no clamps for the track .

This saw is great – cuts really well and really easy to use. The track has taken some time to get used to and tweak, but for the price, no complaints at all.

Great product but careful when using the straight edge as not very solid once made up.
This has been a godsend. I’ve used this to take down an old shed, and the blade cuts through anything – wood, steel screws, roofing felt etc. It is plenty powerful and cuts through with ease. It’s not too heavy and given what I’ve thrown at it, the blade lasts well.
The track is really helpful for cutting straight, although perhaps could do with being a bit longer.
Overall, a really good saw, especially for the price. Recommended.
My husband brought this and has tried it, cut well and accurate. Not tried the track yet.
Replaced an old Hitachi saw with it, very impressed with it’s ability to cut straight unlike the older saw, came with a short track which is great, only downside was it didn’t come with the track clamps, not helpful but sourced some on here & modified them to fit, very impressed with this power saw, didn’t expect anything else though as I also have an Evolution rage sliding mitre saw
Nice clean cut, rails are a bit of a fiddle, would have been better with longer sections but overall does an excellent job of a good straight cut, would recommend for the price

This far exceeded my expectations. I used the wood blade (not the multi material one provided) and the longer track to cut some 40mm thick 3000mm oak worktop. It breezed through it quickly and with next to no splintering; the cut was clean and didn’t have blade marks. Knowing how this performs, I’d have happily have paid twice as much.
Great saw for DIY, tracks are a bit short to be overly useful but 2x 1.4m can be had for 70 making it a really good value set. Would be great if it came with some sort of a storage box/bag but I guess for this price you can’t have everything. If you are going to buy the larger tracks it’s worth considering buying C185CCSX+ which is cheaper and comes with a bag instead of short tracks.
For years I have struggled, and failed, to cut straight line through chipboard and work surfaces.
With this it is so easy.
Placed a 28mm work-suface face down and it sliced through it easily leaving a clean cut through the laminate surface.
Perfect straight cut.
Only three minor problems.
Firstly when you set the saw on the guide-rail the guide has to stick out over the edge of the material because the saw plate is mainly to the rear of the blade, and you need to get both the bottom lugs on the saw (the orange adjustment wheels) in the track before you start.
Secondly it is difficult to clamp to the object you are cutting, you really need a workbench to support the work and give a clamping surface.
Thirdly the track is in three short pieces, the saw sometimes sticks at the join between the plates.
Overall an excellent product for the price, but I think I’ll glue the track to a wider sheet of thin material to eliminate the problems with the joins and give me something to clamp to.
Very pleased overall.
excellent product makes life so easy when cutting 2.4m sheet material
The saw is easy to use and cuts accurately using the tracks to guide the saw. I have only awarded four stars for ease of use as the track that comes with the saw is only just over 1 metre long, and when cutting the saw produces a lot of dust despite having a collector bag attached. However, these are only minor inconveniences as the saw is excellent and cuts through wood very easily.
I bought this saw to cut 3 sheets of 3mm thick aluminium chequer plate.
knowing that aluminium can be a bit challenging to cut. I had the choice of buying an expensive carbide blade for my circular saw or this saw package from Evolution. And I have to say I was surprised how well it cut and also the finish it left was very good all in all 10 out of 10 from me
Ideal for diy – does the job and an excellent price
Took time to learn how to set it up but grea

What a great saw and with the tracks you can’t go wrong
Got this saw to go with the tracks to enable accurate straight line cutting with a circular saw – I have 2 other Evolution saws (Table and Mitre/Chop) and they are excellent value for money – not silly expensive but do the job and keep doing the job in my experience.
Great saw and track set up
For the money an excellent bit of kit. Easy to use and not too heavy. I like using this tool

I found this saw to be impressive, it’s weighty at 5kg and it feels real quality to use, minimum vibration compared with some others I’ve used, it cuts wood like a knife through butter. I was a bit nervous about setting up the track but following instructions then getting a friend who knows about these things, I eventually used it with his clamps, easy after it cut the track to suit saw and I’ve certainly cut the most accurate long cuts I’ve ever done. I have since bought the longer track from Evolution and look forward to using that too, as you might have realised I’m no carpenter, in fact I’m more a metal worker, I have one of their large chop saws for metal so I’m aware of what the blades can do
An excellent saw and five stars from me
Hmmm. If ever this is an item of ‘two halves’ then I don’t know what is. There is good and bad in equal measure.
Firstly the saw. Excellent. Really. It’s heavy, seems well made, cuts cleanly and has a ‘heft’ to it that implies decent quality. The price point is well below that of other much more prestigious brands but is in my opinion just as good.
Evolution make a big thing about being able to cut a variety of materials including mild steel. This is of course down to the blade and I’m sure that for any saw you can buy blades that will do this so not exactly revolutionary. That being said I’ve tried this out on the usual suspects. Wood – hard and soft, MDF, plywood and mild steel bar. All cut well and cleanly, although I’m pretty sure that if you used this on steel all the time you would of course end up with a far shorter life on your blade.
The blade is an Evolution design and is quite good, making good clean cuts. This is helped by the fact that the blade is thin which, I’m sure helps but is probably more about reducing the manufacturing cost. Inevitably a thin blade will mean more pressure on the carbide tips and more wear. A balance I guess.
The plastic is I think PA which is a glass reinforced nylon. I tried cutting a tiny bit with a knife and it had that sharp gravelly feel to it which usually means it’s reinforced. This means a very stable and strong case with a good level of abrasion resistance thanks to the glass fibre. And actually, much of the case is an alloy so even better and of course more manufacturing cost.
The base is a very well made solid alloy casting which means a rigid and accurate means of guiding the saw. This is usually indicative of a good quality item and nice to see. The only downside is – and I know this from experience is that dropping the saw means a potentially broken base whereas a pressed steel on means a bit of a ding and a bend back into shape.
When you get this out of the box there is a small chipping outlet to fit using the two supplied screws. Onto this you can slide the adaptor for a vacuum to remove the debris. I tried it and it worked very well using an old cheap industrial vacuum I’ve had in my workshop forever.
On the base – which is only needed for track use – are two orange plastic ‘cams’ which you use to set the saw on the track so that it can move along but not slide from side to side. It’s worth while taking a bit of time on this so that you get just enough tightness to prevent slack and easy enough to move along freely. I did this by setting the saw on the track on the other non cutting side so that there was no issues with the blade and the guide getting in the way.
And this is important. The cutting side has a plastic strip which is extra wide and when you make your first cut you will cut this as well. This is your ‘zero clearance’ guide. In other words your saw cut has made the exact edge so you can use this for lining up perfectly. It also means that any slack in the guides at all will result in a poor first cut and an innacurate zero clearance, hence setting up on the opposite side first.
Now, here is the downside. The track.
It’s rubbish.
It wouldn’t be rubbish if it was one continuous length as like all other tracks, its just a bit of extruded aluminium with some bits of smooth plastic added to allow the saw to slide easily.
Unfortunately in order to fit it into a small compact box it has been cut into three sections presumably by someone in the Far East with an unfortunate squint and just coming off a weekend bender. You could cut more accurately with a blunt chainsaw by guesswork.
This means the tack does not fit together neatly and is not 100% accurate. Which, is the whole point of a track for a saw in the first place.
The track is joined by two steel bars which are robust but only on one side of the track. This allows the track to also bend upwards meaning that between the sections one bit is proud and that means the saw clatters into it.
The other thing is that the track is so short I’m not sure what purpose it serves. Because you have to fit the saw onto the end first you lose that bit of the ‘run’ which means in practice you can only do a cut of about 600mm. You could manage that just as accurately and just as fast with a hand saw.
Also, the track does not come with the optional clamps which you actually do need to have in order to hold this in place. I used ordinary ‘F’ clamps but they were a pain and got in the way.
So, in the end what you have is something that’s nearly there but falls down on one essential component – the track. My advice is that given the brand – Evolution – you can get this saw at a damn good price and it really is as good as many twice as expensive but then buy better track which is available. Even Evolution make longer track sections which would be far more useful than these DIY jobs.
Honestly, you’re probably better off buying the plus model of this and the 1.4m track separately. You get a better blade, a storage case for both the machine and the track and some clamps for the track. I bought this then amazon put the plus model on deal of the day… So it worked out at the same price as just buying this! Plus the rrp on evolution website has this model at 109!
Not actually tested it yet, but it looks awesome.
This is the first Evolution product I’ve tried and is impressive enough. There’s plenty of power when cutting (I’ve only tried wood, not metal) and the blade cuts nicely, leaving a reasonably nice cut, although I’m more used to more rugged industrial blades so my comparison may not be that great. But all the same, for a home DIY saw it seems pretty good. The weight’s okay, not too heavy and easy to use.
The track supplied isn’t perfect, but considering it comes in short pieces and you fix together (which is easy enough to do) it’s not bad, it’s fairly solid when connected up but the joints do leave a little to be desired. The saw is compatible with plenty of other tracks, though.
This has good performance on cutting wood and worktops. Cuts are clean and using the track you get a good straight edge. You can adjust the blade to 45 degrees.
It’s a heavy piece of kit but this is needed to stabilize vibration and keep your lines accurate.
This has a multi material 185 mm tungsten tipped blade, made in Japan. Cuts mild steel, wood, aluminium and plastic.
I’ve never used this make before, but performance and build quality is really good and I would definitely buy this brand again.
I’ve owned and used quite a few Evolution products by now and I’m always impressed how much thought they put into the design, while delivering products at a decent price. Sure, we’d all like these things to be cheaper, but it actually feels like value for money when I get something from Evolution.
This is a track saw, ie a circular saw which also includes a set of strips which bolt together to act as a guide when cutting. You can also use it with other dedicated cutting benches with very little faffing about.
I remember what this sort of thing used to be like and it could be a nightmare getting a blade that wasn’t going to shatter on you. The included blade will tackle light metals, including nails, with ease.
It’s relatively light and very ergonomic. You have a slew of adjustments you can make for angled cutting, which is pretty easy to set up ONCE you familiarise yourself with it the first few times.
No hesitation recommending this.
What a lovely piece of kit this is! I’m impressed by the product’s quality; it feels very professional. I was most concerned about the track – some other brands leave a lot to be desired but the Evolution track is rock-solid. The track pieces are joined together by two serious track extension bars that include 4 hex screws on each bar – 8 total for each joint. This means the track is really rigid and secure when properly clamped.
I wasn’t too thrilled about the fact that the necessary track clamps are not supplied. I would’ve much preferred to see them included in the box. I did manage to find some clamps at the local hardware store, so it worked out okay.
You’ve got to read the manual carefully to figure out how to initiate the first cut on the track and get it all setup properly. It’s not just plug and play – there’s some “one time” work to do in setting up before using this saw for ongoing jobs. Once you’ve got the feel for it – it cuts through wood like butter. It’s one of my favourite tools now!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! AAA+++
The Evolution Multi-material track saw is the latest release model as of September 2018. They’ve made some improvements to the previous model which I own, the ones i’ve noticed so far have been handle placement and overall width. The extra design makes it safer and less frustrating to use as a tool.
Installing the blade is easy enough, stand it up on the motor and unlock with the allen key that’s included, prise apart the fittings and place the blade in-between them before putting it back on. The direction of the blade is printed both on it and on the blade guard of the body, so aligning them both is simple. It’s the small designs but it makes working with it all the better. The allen key is a standard sized one so if you lose it no problem, but it also has it’s own place to live on the saw body too.
Cuts through wood the best, with thin metal piping and plastic PVC no problem at all. Adjustable to 45 degrees if you’re looking to do corner joins of bigger pieces of wood, and the blade depth can be dropped dependent on the thickness of what you’re cutting.
You can take the track off, but of course this will reduce your accuracy. Taking the track off makes it just a circular saw.
It has a max cut depth of 59mm with the track.
Comes with the Evolution 3-year guarantee, register online as soon as you get it. The tool weighs around 6 kilos so not light, as it needs the weight for self-stabilisation but also not the heaviest so that it doesn’t make it impossible to use.
Very efficient design, made for safety and stability, with the function to attach a vac if you have one. Power cable is a good usable length. This cuts efficiently and fast. I have over 5 Evolution power tools now, having recently just bought the dry wall sander for getting the Artex off my ceiling, I have a lot of faith in the brand.
This is reasonably well made. I had to oil the depth adjustment as it was really stiff straight from the box. The saw runs well and is supplied with a blade that cuts most things. This is a big plus. The track sections in themselves are too short to be of much use. However, joined together you get enough to make short cuts. Bearing in mind you need enough track to locate the saw, prior to the saw entering the workpiece. The saw is adjustable to remove any slop on the track although the adjusters need an allen key of the size not provided. They do give you an allen key to fit the blade and this handily stores next to the main handle. This not suitable as a plunge saw, however, as you cannot set a depth stop that you push the saw down to when it is running. The blade can only be fixed and locked to set the depth and so plunging down to this would not be a safe option as it wouldn’t be held on the track.
As a circular saw, it works well. There is an adjustable fence that allows you to cut a parallel cut to an edge of a board. The saw is quite heavy but that it not necessarily a bad thing as this will help to reduce kickback.
Evolution R185CCSX Multi-Material Track Saw
Fantastic addition to the Evolution range of Saws.
This is a well made fully featured track saw in the Evolution tradition of supplying a tool that will cut through most of the modern materials you are likely to come across in serious DIY or light trade use.
The supplied blade is well proven in this and combined with the 1600 watt motor doesn’t flinch at light metals and mild steel even, softwood and sheet materials of all kinds and thicknesses are like bread and butter to it.
This new addition to the range is much more useful as it is a track saw.
The track improves cutting accuracy when using the saw and allows easy conversion of sheet goods into smaller sections or lengths.
It’s much more accurate than free handing and I’d argue safer, too.
You can still use the supplied fence to rip with but you can cut with real confidence using the track if you have the length needed.
The track itself comes in three x 340mm sections which are combined using the connecting rods supplied.
In combination this gives either a 680mm track – useful for cross cutting counter tops – or 1020mm if all three are used.
Saw glide in the track is very good – there are orange low friction strips embedded in the track and the sole plate of the saw is well finished.
Like any track saw the first cut you make using a track “marries” the saw to the track being used, as the kerf of the blade takes off a sliver of edging strip as you make the cut. These edging or sealing strips are replaceable items. There are non slip strips on the reverse of the tracks which do provide some surface grip.
Repeated accurate cuts are best achieved by using clamps at both ends of the workpiece. The clamps engage with the channel in the base of the track – the same channel that the connecting rods sit in.
Clamps for the Evolution are available as optional extras. Clamps by Festool also fit the supplied track.
The saw is well designed with a number of adjustment knobs and levers prominent in bright orange plastic. The base plate and guard are grey powder coated metal and the top section of the saw is a combination of black metal and plastic.
It’s a substantial tool and the weight at 5kg is well balanced and provides confidence. As a track saw I’ve used this mostly on a bench top or improvised worktop situation – there’s not a not of lugging around. The 3 metre mains cable is hardwired into the saw and has a moulded UK 13 amp fused plug as this is a 230 – 240 volt device.
There is an 8mm allen key for blade change which resides in the base of the grip. The rear handle grip also houses the power on | off button used in combination with the trigger as a safety mechanism. The R185CCSX has replaceable brushes should the need arise. There is a bevel cutting facility up to 45. As a track saw the R185CCSX can also manage plunge cuts – and a steady plunge cut reduces chance of kickback on beginning a cut. The ability to do plunge cuts along with a depth stop and track make the saw so much more versatile. The Evolution R185CCSX isn’t a plunge cutting track saw or flush cutting – please note – safety is paramount.
Cutting sheets of MDF and ply from 8x4s to useable widths and lengths can be done easily. The Evolution R185CCSX is also compatible with Festool Track as well as clamps – see picture.
I bought my first Evolution saw [Fury 1B] in the summer as I wanted something less delicate than my Festool for general work – If this Evolution R185CCSX had been an option then I would have gone for it, as it provides a great range range of uses plus sturdy power to take on most things I’ll ever need to cut.
185mm tungsten carbide tipped circular saw.
This is a strong and powerful rip saw that can cope with all you throw at it .
It arrives with minimal construction needed- basically you need to put the blade in and attach the dust extractor connection. It takes 5 minutes to do this and then the saw is ready to go.
It can be used independently of the track, but the track in the kit allows you to create clean and straight cuts for over a metre without the worry of going off course and missing the cutting line you have drawn. It is worth noting that the clamps that make using the track fool safe are not included and need to be bought separately.
The saw itself is excellent, it does all you need and it does it quickly without fuss or effort. It does make a bit of a mess when cutting wood so if you are planning to use this indoors to cut wood a lot it might be worth considering buying an extractor .
The track is easy to put together and the tools you need to do so are included.
The addition of a blade is a bonus, it is even more of a bonus to get the type of blade included here, the sort that can cut everything, even through hidden nails in old scaffold boards ( something i have done several times). However if you want pretty and super neat cuts for something like laminate flooring it might be worth considering buying a specific blade for that as the flip side for being able to cut through all materials is that the blade can sometimes create a cut that is not particularly neat and the edges can be a little rough.
If what you are looking for is a good little workhorse of a saw that is powerful and sturdy and not priced at a premium this is a good choice.
