    Absolutely love this game.
    Different dynamics this time round.
Great length of play, not finished quickly

I thought I’d update this review now that more of the Gold versions Season Pass Content has been released.

Far Cry 6 itself is as you would expect of this series. The map isn’t too exciting and the different areas mostly look the same apart from the city area. You wouldn’t really know which region you were in without consulting the map. Missions are the usual Far Cry so if you are after more of the same it’s all here. The season pass gives you some nice weapons and an extra Amigo to use once you finish the opening level.

Like New Dawn there are Special Operations to off-map areas for specific missions. Each one I have tried has been the same goal. Search the map until you reach an area where you extract a weapon and get back to the start. The weapon is a device that overheats in the sunlight so you have to keep finding shadows and water to cool it and get back to where you started where there is a final battle you have to survive. As I said, so far all the special operations have been this format.

You also get the full game of Far Cry Blood Dragon with the Season Pass. I’m yet to give this a proper go but it is the PS3 version, just updated to work on PS4 so don’t expect a remaster or anything. It’s sold separately for 10 if you didn’t have the season pass.

Two out of the three DLC have now been released. These have been a bit of a disappointment as they seem more like different maps for one DLC rather than three unique add ons like you got with Far Cry 5. You play as the bad guy from one of the previous games in kinda of dream world. You start off with no weapons and have to earn weapons by killing enemies and then coming back to the start to ‘bank’ what you have earned to unlock more weapons. The goal is to find three pieces of an item in three main missions that you have to track down by exploring the map. These missions link back to scenes from the old games but are more of a dream state/nightmare version. To complete these you will need to aquire weapons which is a lot of busy work just to get tooled up to the expected Far Cry experience. When you die you lose all your weapons and money earned to get weapons and have to start over on all your mission progress just with some elements carrying over if you unlocked them. Basically it’s designed so you will die over and over, start with slightly more each time and eventually finish the map/DLC or give up as you’re tired of almost permadeath and having no mission progress saved.

In short I’d say get the main Far Cry 6 game as there is lot there to keep you entertained but give the gold version a miss. The season pass will eventually go on sale and you can pick it up then and not feel like you have wasted any money.

I was so excited at the prospect of buying this game I love them all ( except primal ) unfortunately FC6 has an awful lot of glitches bad guys respawn even when you didn’t die the sound disappears at points in the game the map went all funny then I see database is corrupted tried to sort this out wouldn’t have it I deleted my game to start over again it’s not as brilliant as I expected it to be from Ubisoft it’s also like playing just cause 3 it’s just so very annoying to be honest maybe I will change my mind who knows
