Easy to use but despite the heated bed many prints still need rafts. The small prints size may be a problem but the ease of use and user freindly printer is for me worth the money saving time on assembly. I had to change the boden tube after a few prints but since then no problems.

I bought this for my husband who has never done 3d printing and he loves it. Highly recommend connect to flash cloud / connect your printer to it. My husband has printed a couple of boxes. A toothpaste key. A spool part for the machine. Easy to use highly recommend

Great printer for beginners, easy to use with a few YouTube tutorials, would definitely recommend for people starting out.

I found the adhesion a slight issue with the printer, but using a glue stick on most prints seems to solve that entirely (the adhesion issues are probably user error rather than the machine in the first place)

Great print quality for what I need, I have personally printed as long as 0.08mm but generally use 0.13 for fairly detailed items.

My personal downsides are the build volume, but it’s plenty big enough for most things just be aware it’s not the biggest at 150*150, and the fact it doesn’t fit a 1kg spool on by standard, so if you do buy this, make your first big print a spool holder

All in all a great machine, enclosure works fine and even after a year of use I only had to replace two consumables (the nozzle and Bowden tube but both for user error) and both where really easy to replace

    Great beginner printe

We purchased this product as a Christmas gift for our 14-year-old son, and I must say that it was the highlight of the day. The installation process was straightforward, and the instructions were easy to comprehend. It has now been two months since its purchase, and I can confidently say that there have been only a few days when it has not been used for some task or the other. If I had the option, I would undoubtedly give it more than five stars.

Great 3D printer. Comes assembled, just take it out the box and start printing. No messing around calibrating and fiddling, just print. Very easy. Only negative I would say is print area is a bit small and it does not support TPU but works great with ABS.

I honestly thought 3D printing was still at a stage where even a nice enclosed model like this would be really fiddly and tricky to use. I have been amazed at how easy it has been. There is obviously still a learning curve and some trial and error with regard to settings etc., but I was printing the demo model in minutes and my own designs not long after.

To be clear as well, I’m using Tinkercad (free app and website) on a 7th gen iPad and the Flashcloud website to upload the jobs to the printer.

I bought the Adventurer 3 Pro, so it needs a sharp tool to lift the models from the 3D print bed once done (35C seems to be the optimal cooling point to do this). I’m just using an old, broad kitchen knife.

I’m generally a cauldron of frustration and rage when technology is inconsistent or poorly thought out and there has honestly been zero swearing!

I would, however, note that the Flashcloud website can be a bit fickle at times. That does appear to have improved since switching the printer to my guest wifi as opposed to my main. No idea why

Genuinely usable out of the box!

I had a cheap 3D printer before and it was always terrible print quality. Perhaps I could have got better quality out of it with much tweaking but never seemed to be able to. But this printer was great straight out of the box. I just levelled the bed and it worked straight away.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is my first venture into 3D printing and thanks to the Flashforge Adventurer 3 i am well and truly hooked!

My brother is massively into 3D printing and i have asked him to print me some items in the past, he suggested i looked at buying myself one, but to be honest, whilst i am very good at new tech, 3D printing looked way too complicated for even me!

Whilst browsing the Amazon daily deals i came across this printer, reading the reviews and watching a few online videos everyone seemed to be saying this device required very little knowledge and just kind of worked straight out of the box – i decided to take the plunge and ordered!

When the printer arrived i was immediately super impressed by the build quality of the device and the super smart appearance of the machine. I looked at the instructions included and to be honest they were beyond pointless! I therefore watched a setup video online and hooked up the device. To my amazement it really was just plug and play! I had to download the flashprint 5 software which is free from the manufacturers website – again there is no real instructions on how to use this software but online videos helped me through it and it actually was pretty simple!

The printer comes with a small test roll of 250g PLA filament in red. Loading the filament was super easy, just place the roll inside the machine, feed the end into the printer and use the touch screen to pull the filament through. The touch screen guides you through the whole process.

I was now ready for my first 3D print – Super Excited! I downloaded a couple of free .STL files and loaded them into Flashprint, clicked a couple of buttons and it send the file to the printer. The display on the printer sprung to life and informed me it was receiving the file, it then displayed a nice 3D image of the item i was printing – which was a Benchy (tug boat). The print took around 1hr 30 mins but WOW – how good did this little boat look!!! That’s it i was hooked!! I ordered some more filament in black from Amazon and my next project was a skull that could hold pens/pencils. That has now been printing for around 8hrs and has around 3hrs left – so yes it’s not a fast process – the machine takes it time, but the detail is just so amazing!

What i love about the machine is that it is super quiet, it does not smell when printing, the print area is fully enclosed, touch screen is great, footprint is nice and compact, internal lights make checking on your print really easy, heat up time is astonishingly fast! Biggest plus is that it really is plug and play with no 3D printing knowledge needed!

What i didn’t like so much about the machine was, camera is pretty poor quality – you also can not view this in the slicing software but instead have to go to the printers IP address to view – it’s good enough for you to check on your print but it’s quite dark and lacking in detail, the quality looks like VGA rather than 720p. The printer can also only house 500g reels of filament, which are not value for money compared to larger 1kg rolls, however you can easily solve this buy purchasing a filament holder and having your PLA on the outside of the machine. The print bed is fairly small allowing a max of 150mmx150mmx150mm prints – but for a beginners machine i feel that size print is fine for an introduction into the world of 3D printing.

In summary, if you are looking at getting into 3D printing then i very highly recommend you look at investing in the Flashforge Adventurer 3 machine – you honestly can not go wrong with this smart looking device! It is truly is ideal for a novice/beginner who has extremely limited knowledge of this daunting hobby. If you are a more experienced 3D printer then you may want to look elsewhere as this machine is pretty locked down in terms of firmware and customisation options.

A truly amazing 3D Printer – i am totally in love with this device! I know for a fact i will be upgrading in the future and getting another machine that can perhaps print a little faster and have a larger print area. I will definitely consider getting another larger flashforge printer as i am super impressed with their product.

I can not recommend this enough!!! Over the Moon with it!

I hope that you found my review helpful

A truly Plug and Play 3D Printer - AMAZING!

After previously buying a faulty 3D printer in the past, I was a bit sceptical investing my money into another one. I am extremely glad that I’ve purchased this printer. Makes prints with ease, only needed to level the bed once. I connect my laptop to the printer and just a press of a button it does it’s magic. Not once have I had to calibrate it or unclog the nozzle before printing, works hassle free each time.

I have around 100 hours of printing from the unit and 95% of my prints turned out how I wanted them using flash forge’s default settings. for Some smaller objects you may want to use a slicer like cura to ensure the highest precision when printing.

Overall, I highly reccommend this printer to anyone who wants to introduce themselves to 3d printing. I run this in my bedroom and I can still get to sleep. It really is a quiet machine!

Note to buyers: print out the spool-holder in the above picture, you will be able to use larger rolls with the printer if you do.

Wow what can I say about this printer apart from its everything it says it is. Incredibly easy to learn and use, ultra easy to set up and all round fantastic printer.
Only down side is it doesn’t take 1kg spools but spool holders are easy to find and print out for this.

Tried 3d printing a few years ago and found it frustrating and gave up. But with this printer it has worked straight out the box. With no setup at all every print has come out great. It’s a shame the spool holder won’t accept larger spools. But one of the 1st things I printed was an attachment that will hold a larger spool, so that was a very temporary problem.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersPros:
    * Made quite a few prints straight out of the box with no issues – download model, load into software and with a click of a button send to the printer. For a first time 3D printer user that’s what I’ve excepted.
    * Flashforge software is straighforward to use for a basic level user, no complaints – load the model, slice, apply supports if necessary etc. and print.
    * Looks aesthetically pleasing, enclosed.
    * WiFi definitely makes starting and stopping prints convenient, especially if you keep the printer in an isolated area to contain the noise.
    * Camera is low resolution but good enough to monitor the print. You can view the print through your browser if you know the local IP address or flashforge software.
    * Glass bed is great – no issues with adhesion. Once the model is printed power off the printer, wait for the bed to cool down and models almost pop off themselves from the bed or require a very gentle nudge at most.

    Cons:
    * Cloud functionality works but is slow and you have to use slicing software on the cloud which is very limited and again – very slow. Not really practical but depends on your use case.
    * By no means it’s silent. During the print it’s loud, very much so. On idle it has fans running top speed – again, very loud and what’s the reason to do so in idle mode? As in you wouldn’t want to be in the same room loud for longer than a few minutes contrary to the selling point.
    * Calibration process is not very straightforward. E.g. after calibrating using a paper between the nozzle and the base it may not actually be properly calibrated even with multiple tries. Is there a technique of moving the nozzle up and down multiple times in a certain pattern to avoid inaccurate calibration, motor backlash?
    * Does not support 1kg spools so you are essentially expected to print an external extension or pay extra for smaller spools which are also limited in options. Having an external spool means you have to keep the lid off thus reducing the benefits of noise and fume suppression unless you 3D print a lid for this particular case, there are models online. Inconvenience. You could arguably drill a hole in the panel but… this shouldn’t be a thing.
    * You have to manually power if off, you can’t do that through software. There is no standby mode once it finishes. When finished it goes into idle mode and gets very loud (fants). A workaround is to use a smart socket to control power from your phone/PC.
    * A very minor gripe but the power cable socket connection to the printer is a bit flimsy and may need a bit of play and support to stay in full contact but once done it stays in no issues.
    * Obnoxiously loud ear piercing welcome sound. Luckily can be disabled, luckily.

Overall I do recommend this printer despite for what seems a long list of cons. Nothing that can’t be worked around for the most part.

This 3d printer just WORKS! I’m very very happy with this purchase after dealing with my nightmare Tevo Nereus. I love it so much, I may by a dual extruder printer from FlashForge. I don’t really mind losing CURA access – their software is great. I would like to have more build volume, but given the reliability of this, it is worth having this as a printer in my house even if I buy another larger printer.

Had some trouble getting it to connect wifi and wired… did a factory reset and poof all fixed!!
The manual and instructions and the website could use some beefing up. Glad there are a ton of happy campers on youtube.. problems solved 🙂
    Overall sorry I didn’t go this route 1st, I tried a resin printer…
Flashforge builds a good device. I hope to get many years/projects out of it 🙂

Setup was not bad and printing is fun! FUN!!
10 days in and I have printed 8 things. Machine is more quiet than I expected.
Flash print 5 Software is smart (making this Adventurer 3 easy to use). I purchased a spool of glow in the dark 1.75mm PLA material (came with a .25kg spool of 1.75mm PLA red). Tip: get small .6 kg spools or smaller, otherwise your spool will have to sit outside of the machine, and your second project will be to print your own spool holder.
    Finding prints at all3dp.com , my mini factory.com and xyzprinting.com .
Making my own .STL files at tinkercad.com – and using this to also scale/resize prints to fit on the 15cm x15cm x 15cm platform.
Seeing probs and challenges others have had, I’m quite impressed with this 3d printing machine!!!

Loving this! (As a new user)

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is my first 3D printer, so take into account I have nothing to compare this to. But as a beginner I’ve found this printer to be a great introduction to 3D printing. I was initially reticent to try 3D printing at all as reading up on it, it sounds like a nightmare, with many, many things that can go wrong and issues to overcome. Don’t be put off! Using this printer with PLA filament has been a great first experience and about as easy as I can imagine it being. Print quality, in “fine” mode, is perfectly acceptable, and sometimes really good, depending on what you are printing. It won’t cope with very fine details (e.g. tabletop gaming figures), but I’ve managed to print relatively small models of retro tech (see photos) and for the distance they are normally viewed at the quality looks great (the close up pics show all the flaws!). The software that comes with it is fine and reasonably easy to use for the basics, certainly good enough to get the job done, though I have had weird issues with the slicing seeming to go wrong sometimes and leave holes or gaps in the model. This could be something to do with problems in the STL files though, and at least you can see the problems in the preview window rather than printing it and seeing the problem then. I created the models using Blender, which is a free 3D modelling program, but there are even simpler programs to use like Microsoft’s 3D Builder. Generally I’ve found learning how to create the 3D models on the computer to be the longest & trickiest part of the process – the 3D printing itself has gone relatively smoothly in comparison. On the negative side, I have had issues with stringing, though that was largely overcome with some changes to the default temperature settings; but the main negative is that the printer takes 0.5kg spools of filament, rather than the more common 1kg. This makes sourcing filament more difficult, more expensive and limits the manufacturers you can buy it from. There’s plenty of Flashforge PLA that fits the printer on Amazon, but if you want to use ABS, it can be more difficult to find 0.5kg spools (and shipping costs for ABS from the official Flashforge site are prohibitively expensive for the UK, they only seem to have PLA on Amazon, so that wasn’t an option for ABS). Overall, though, I thoroughly recommend this printer as a beginner’s machine. I’ve had great fun using it and being able to turn something digital into a physical object in your own home feels almost magical. It’s a great little hobby.

Let me start by saying that this is, overall, an excellent beginner 3D printer and a very good printer, overall. I bought a dented box and got an incredible deal on it, but I think it has great value for the money even at full price. I had a bit of an issue with it at first, but I will talk about that later.

I did read a lot of the reviews and search the interwebs for reviews before purchasing. This was my second 3D printer (my first was a Creality Ender 3 Pro) and, while I found reviews that placed other printers above these on occasion, the Adventurer 3 and the Ender 3 were consistently rated amongst the best budget desktop 3D printers and for good reason. My Ender was working fine, but it got a bit wonky after I installed the BL Touch hoping that I could avoid the annoyance of manual bed leveling. I liked that the Adventurer 3 would not require manual leveling. I expect I will have to calibrate it every once in a while, but the calibration process was very simple and it has given me a strong first layer on every print I’ve done so far.

In fact, the FlashPrint slicer lays down a solid base layer (you can see it at the base of the lantern pic I posted) before it begins printing the model, so you get some of the lumps in the filament worked out before it begins printing the model, which is nice. The slicer also gives you flexibility that Cura might have, but is not nearly so easy to find as it is on Cura. For example, there are two separate types of supports (tree and solid) that you can choose and the supports screen also lets you adjust the parameters for where it inserts the supports for you. You can also manually remove specific supports if you want to. The user interface is otherwise very similar to Cura, so the learning curve is next to nothing. You can also choose Standard, Fine, or Fast resolution, but I have not found a significant difference between the modes (the lantern was printed in Fine mode and Pikachu was printed in Fast). Basically, it just changes layer height and fill density to preset values. I intend to go with standard for the most part going forward, but it is a nice feature.

So what are some of the things I like the best about the Adventurer 3? I love that I can slice a model on my computer and send it to the printer without leaving my seat. I love the touchscreen, which is much more user friendly than the dial on my Ender 3 (although newer Enders do come with a touchscreen). The onboard camera is also pretty cool. I read a customer review on here that complained about the video being choppy, which it is, but what are you expecting?! I mean, it has no impact on the functionality of the printer, it is just there for convenience, so who cares if it lags a bit like an old webcam? I also realized that, if I put my Ender on the opposite side of the printer, I could kind of monitor both printers at the same time.

Some things I do not like so much about the Adventurer 3 are that the spool only accommodates .5kg spools. This is not a huge problem because you can print a spool extender (there are several designs on Thingiverse) that allows you to use 1kg spools, but you will have to leave the side panel off. 1kg PLA costs less than .5kg PLA. Is that a huge deal? No. But it is a slight inconvenience. Particularly since some filament (like ABS) do not work as well when the filament panel is off. My solution? I use 1kg with the spool for PLA and will just order .5kg spools for other types of filament so I can leave the panel on.

Another minor annoyance is the small build volume. 150x150x150 is not a bad size print bed, but the Ender 3 is significantly larger. In my situation, it is fine because I can just print larger models on the Ender, but many people do not have the luxury of having two printers.

The print quality itself is very good, but not as good as what you will find on $1,000+ machines. If you are expecting to get top-end Maker print quality on a budget printer of any kind, you have unrealistic expectations. The pictures I attached to this review are of a lantern that I am printing a dozen of as centerpieces for my upcoming wedding. We are going to put nerdy lithophanes in the panels with electric tea lights to illuminate them. The other one is of a Pikachu I printed for our 6 year-old. That one took under an hour. The print speed on the Adventurer 3 is actually really good compared to the Ender 3. Very fast for such high quality.

I also read reviews that say that you hav to use FlashForge filament in the machine or it will not work. I found that to be patently incorrect. Not only did FlashForge customer support specifically tell me I can use any filament, I have used FlashForge, SUNLUU, and Overture so far with no problems (other than the one described below). Loading and changing the filament is a piece of cake and I love the run-out sensor that pauses the print job when you run out of filament so you can restart it. However, the only time I have had to use it, I ran into a problem.

I unloaded the old filament and tried to load new filament, but the new filament would not go in. It looked like it got through the loading wheel okay, but stopped before it fed into the tube leading to the nozzle. I tried loading different filaments and trimming off the edge in different ways in the hope that it would catch, to no avail. I reached out to FlashForge tech support and they were useless. The rep told me that the Adventurer 3 would not accommodate 1kg spools and I would need to use a .5kg spool. You would think that they would be aware that people print extender spools so they can use 1kg spools. Aside from that, that was not even the problem. I removed the plastic piece that covers the space between the loading wheel and the tube and I saw that the old filament had broken and a millimeter or two was sticking out, but was not in contact with the wheel. So there wasn’t a problem with the new filament, it was just running up against the old filament that had not come out. I had a little difficulty getting hold of the end of the old filament, but eventually got it using some fine-point tweezers and pulled it out. After reattaching the plastic piece, the filament loaded with no problem and I was ready to go.

A word of warning if you have to do this, but that black piece holds a spring in place and it is easy to accidentally knock out that spring. In my case, it shot out and went inside the casing of the printer. I had to lift the whole thing up and spin it around until I got it out. After that, it was easy to reassemble. If something like that happens, I would recommend recalibrating the printer.

All in all, I really love this printer so far. I would love to be able to afford an industrial 3D printer, but those are probably a lot more difficult to calibrate and use. This printer, in my opinion, strikes a perfect balance between ease, convenience, quality, features, and price. If you need more than what this printer provides, you should not be critical of the Adventurer 3, you should just increase your budget… by a lot.

Solid printer with nice features for the money

Great for my first printer. I leave on default settings pretty much and print better than expected models 🙂

Very easy to use – my son had it set up Christmas morning – couldn’t get the USB port working despite trying several usb formats- but was able to connect via WiFi. (This could be an issue if you depend on WiFi for internet access – we have a WiFi card on pc so was able to use that for connectivity)
Great print quality although smaller prints are quite difficult to take off the print bed – inclined to scrape the print bed as you take off the smaller prints. My 13 year old is delighted with it!!

This printer is very large due to its print capability’s but as for software not for the faint hearted, there’s lots of settings and can be overwhelming at times, will print all types of filaments, but for TPU and flexible filaments you have to create and save your own settings and import or save and export them. As for the built in spool holder it’s too small won’t fit a large spool inside you have to remove the cover and feed it via a external filament stand.

If your new to 3D printing don’t get this machine just yet find a cheap and basic alternative, until you get the hang of 3D printing.

Really pleased with this 3D printer. It worked straight from the box and hasn’t let me down once. Store the filament properly and you should have no real problems. The software works well and isn’t too complicated.

I built a 3d printer a few years ago but it was not without its problems and printing was far from easy. This ready built and enclosed printer is just amazing. Works straight out the box on default settings with the Flashforge supplied filament. I did purchase another Flashforge branded filament and had issues with it adhering to the glass bed, however after putting a layer of painters masking tape on the bed, every print has worked flawlessly even using non Flashforge filament. Printing in fine mode extends the printing time but it produces really good prints. I can’t put it down, it’s been printing everyday for the last week and is a delight to use. AAA+++

Great starter printer it’s literally open box plug in and print. Adding filament is super easy although it only holds 500g rolls not 1kg. The printing software is super easy to use. However my printer I had to return because it stopped seeing any network including Ethernet cable and then USB. I did then buy a more DIY printer that had a bigger bed size as this one is to small for most of the things I wanted to print.

I am a beginner, I tried other 3d printers, and this one is the best if you are starting. A few tips:
-Make sure you understand the basics of 3d print, watch videos, etc.
    -Just use regular PLA if you are starting, from a good brand, not too cheap. Other type would require a different nozzle, temperature setup, etc. lots of trial and error;
-forget marble PLA, Wood PLA, it will require lots of adjustments and you are starting
-Don’t worry about the printing size; you can always split your prints; actually it works better because you don’t want a 20 hour print to fail and you have to start over. If you are printing a figure, print a leg, an arm, head, etc, separated, if one fails it is less damage.
-you will not get a final product from the printer. I learned that if you use a primer and filler, sand, spray paint, it looks awesome
-Make sure you record your long prints, so you can see what went wrong on fails.

    About the printer:
-Have to have: closed chamber does help with the prints
-Print software is made for the printer; you don’t have to tweak the options like the other software. It comes ready for it, I only adjust layer high, filling and support; I haven’t had to change anything else.
-Nice to have: wifi. It is convenient to be able to send it over without using a memory stick, but that’s it.
-Nice to have: camera. It is nice to check it live from time to time, and the recording option only works if you have the cloud

If you are starting: learn how to manipulate the 3d objects in Blender, that will help a LOT. I had large prints I have split and assembled together later.

The FlashForge Adventurer 3 is an amazing printer. I received this a little over a week ago and had it printing for well over 75 hours already (i have it running day and night). I haven’t explored all of its functions yet, so far I’ve been viewing my jobs as I print them and sticking to PLA filament. I love that it doesn’t require proprietary filament (my previous 3d printer did). I also love how easy it is to remove the jobs due to the flexible and removeable print bed. You can remove the bed and bend it so the pieces pop off, you do not need to use a paint scraper.

When looking at the pictures of what I printed, keep in mind that those are all factory settings, if you tinker around with resolution and speed you can get them to be much higher quality.

This 3d printer works extraordinarily well for the money

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI feel like the reviews are giving the amazon reviews are giving this printer a bad name because they were buying it expecting a 3D printer to be a star trek replicator – they aren’t, they’re still very much a big effort to use and maintain and probably always will be within all of our lifetimes.

That said, this seems to be the most user friendly one on the market. Yes! You still need to maintain it. Yes! You will have lots of failed prints when using different filaments. Yes! One day you will print something and it will be perfect and then the next day you will use the same file and it’ll fail. Yes! You will probably spend more time tinkering with settings in the (very good) provided slicer program. This is 3D printing. It is a hobby – this printer makes it and all round easier to enjoy hobby because of its ease of use, removable, cleanable & reusable print bed and easy to remove nozzle basically eliminates half the trouble most people seem to have.

If you are new to 3D printing and are not worried about or are interested in learning how to produce and edit 3D models in software like TinkerCAD or alike then get this printer, if you want a 3D printer you can download something from Thingiverse and send it to your printer like a word document and it’ll print perfectly every time, don’t get this printer and don’t get any 3D printer.

I already had a Resin printer, but wanted a filiment based printer to expand on the materials I could print with along with size.

Out of the box this printer is very much plug and play, the supplied test filement allowing you time to understand how it all works and even letting you print something quite large to show its strength as a device.

But it falls down a little on a couple of things. One thing it fails to do is explain loading clearly, it will feed the filament into the device but will stop before making it all the way to the extruder. I have to load it twice to make sure it hits home.

Another issue is changing out the extruder and cleaning the unit itself are not included in the instruction book. While videos are online it would have been nice to see inside the book.

The extrude itself is also not labelled on mine so go in aware that it caps at 240c and you will need to buy the hot extruder for higher heats.

The built in camera works to keep track of printing but is rather clunky while viewing through the cloud service but if you direct yourself to the IP directly it shows a real time view, just load up the cloud service first. You can stream it printing directly if viewed like this, which I have done to much success . The Web base application appears to sometimes interrupt prints crashing the unit for some reason but its rare to happen.

I networked the printer directly so I can beam my prints directly to it without issue.

Overall solid purchase, had successfully printed in pla, petg and wood.

Pros: easy to use, plug and play set up, low volume printing, easy print removal. Streaming compatability and value for money as a good entry level device.

Cons: standard none flashforge spools are. 5cm bigger so will not fit inside the side of the device but easy enough to print a solution or respool onto correct size as time goes on.

Instruction book would nice if it had a little more detail.

Excellent plug and play value, some slight changes to instruction booklet would be helpful.

As a beginner myself I have had a great time using the Flashforge Adventurer 3 Lite.

It was so simple to use, very clear manual, and even the buttons on the printer were easy as well.
You will have to buy extra fillament, as I didn’t get much fillament at the start.
    Enough for around 6 prints

the prints were really good, and the pretty high quality.
I tried some harder prints, and they didnt turn out as perfect, but that’s most likely because I didn’t slice them properly.

Even the software on this product was awesome and simple.

All in all, Flashforge did a good job.

I got this to replace my Monoprice Mini 3D printer which I’d added a magnetic build plate and PEI sheets to so I could easily remove prints. So I was very happy that this printer has a flexible plate and PEI sheet already included. Adhesion is very good and the flexible build plate is easy to remove and flex to remove 3D printed parts. Also, it has a good build volume for most hobby uses and is much quieter than my old printer. It was also very well priced which I assume is partly because, as opposed to other Adventurer 3 printers on Amazon, the 3C has no camera built in (the hole is there, just no camera). Personally I don’t see much use for the camera so Flashforge having a slightly cheaper version without on seems a good idea. It also has WiFi built in and it was very easy to connect to Polar3D once I found out where the pin was on their website. Previously I just used the Cura slicer but being able to print straight from my Chromebook and Android table/phone is an excellent new way for me to do 3D printing. And it looks very nice too 🙂

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe got this for our 13 yr old son as a birthday gift. We are very pleased with how easy it was to use after unpacking it. It was a great price and seemed highly recommended by a few technology media publications ( like CNET). We chose this model because we wanted an enclosed area for printing (we were worried about damaging the moving parts , our son can be little clumsy lol). One thing to note- we bought the additional filament that was suggested ( ” people buy these items together” ), but upon delivery we discovered the spool size did not fit this model printer. Luckily, It did come with some beginner filament to immediately experiment with. We easily returned the additional filament & ordered the correct spool (received 2 days later). My son has enjoyed tinkering around with it and creating small objects and hopefully will become more confident with larger, more advanced projects soon. He can operate it independently & is perfecting his filament change technique. The whole family has enjoyed watching the process & love the creative potential this machine has.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersGreat printer out of the box. Very beginner friendly. It’s pretty quite for a 3D printer. What I love about this printer is the auto bed leveling and being able to slice on the computer and hit send to printer. Then it’ll save it to the printers memory storage and you can select it from there later if needed. Glad I returned my ender 3 v2 and got this one. The ender was cheaper but with the upgrades I had bought for it it ended up costing 50 more then this one and not the even close to flash forge’s quality. I had a BL touch which I returned before even opening, upgraded springs, all metal hot end, Capricorn Bowden tube, creality enclosure (which just that alone made the ender 3 v2 be close in price to this one and it ripped installing so quality was trash). All in all this printer is by far worth it. On this machine, loading and changing filaments is a breeze!

First printed out a calibration cube which came out fantastic. Then printed out the spool extension (in the video I uploaded) to be able to use my filaments. So far PLA is great, trying out PETG, then after I print a vent extractor I’m gonna try my roll of ASA.

Cons: the bed is actually pretty small but for most prints it should suffice.

1 kg spools won’t fit. You need to print a spool extension off of thingiverse

The flashcloud and polarcloud for remote printing isn’t really that great. Kind of slow.

So far the prints I’ve tried they’ve really stuck hard to the bed. They come off almost effortlessly except for the brim. I really had to scrape that brim hard to get it off.

Edit: 5/18/21 my first print with ABS (the item in the picture that’s inside the printer) came out fantastic and that wasn’t even the high quality slicing setting, also with no raft or brim. Printed also some cheap PETG, it took some bed leveling with a business card that’s thicker then paper but it printed fantastic with my own slicing settings, recommend to use glue stick or masking tape because that thing grips on the bed.

    Issues I’m having:
-After a few prints had to level the bed in all 9 points differently because it was too close on one side. When the first few prints I did absolutely no bed leveling and it came out perfect.
-the usb slot is not reading a usb or sd card (doesn’t really bother me since it’s more convenient to print directly from the slicer).
    -The camera is trash

    Fixes
-To connect to flashcloud or polar cloud you need to activate only one at time not both.
-If you’re having issues connecting to wifi make sure you’re using the right IP. Mine connected to one address successfully but then after I updated the firmware it had a different IP.
-If your prints are rock hard stuck to the bed, calibrate your bed and move it 1 point higher.

    Beyond impressed

I like the fact that it’s enclosed, as it looks good but also captures any fumes or plastic particles that may occur. Also the casing makes sure dust doesn’t settle during printing.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is by far the easiest printer I’ve used, had it up and running in about an hour, (my previous printer was a monoprice mini) and compared to my last one I’ve already gotten way better prints with much more ease, only thing that could make the printer better is some tweeks in the settings before you slice, supports are kinda flawed and the rafts it makes are way to big, but on a brim setting and after an attempt or two on figuring out what size supports for your print you’ll need, this thing works amazing. I feel it was worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe Adventurer 3 was recommended by a friend, I’m new to 3D printing.
It’s just amazing. The bed size is slightly small but I haven’t found it an issue and makes the overall size very compact.
It takes the Flashforge 500 gram spools and, for me, they last for ages. I use PET G as my default filament and have no problems.
I did have an issue initially when trying to remove the ‘model’ from the print bed when finished and found the best solution was the ‘glue stick’ method, to coat the print bed first.
The easiest way to remove the print bed is to let it cool down, push down in the centre with one hand, with the model still in place, and pull on the front catch of the bed at the same time with the other.

The most difficult decision was what 3D design software to use. After trying numerous, including Tinkercad, I ended up using Microsoft 3D Builder. I found it very intuitive to use and love the clean uncluttered presentation. It also has the ability to import images. If I’m making a holder for something that has a complex shape I take a photo to get the outline and import. It makes the design work so much easier.

Hours of endless fun and practical too

For me, plugging it in via ethernet was the easiest thing to do and that way I didn’t have to get up and fiddle with anything if I needed to update any firmware on the machine or when I wanted to print, I could do it all from my laptop.

After playing around with it for a couple days and getting used to the printing software, settings etc, I then started printing a bunch of little test pieces. After a week I got brave and started doing batch prints of 4 models that I want to sell, that came out great so I pushed it further and eventually got to printing 8 models in a batch and even left it to print over night with no issues.

This machine only takes the smaller 500g spool of filaments but thankfully some wise people of the internet have designed a larger spool holder that you can print on your own machine and then that will allow you to buy the larger 1kg spool of filament and print without any issues.

Overall I’d definitely recommend this as it comes out the box ready to go, you just need to follow the instructions on how to load the filament and you’re good to go!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersSurprisingly good printing quality.
The built in camera working only with flash cloud. And need a strong wifi…
The smartphone app provided on play store it doesn’t work at all.. Don’t even bother yourself to download it! But the free PC slicer app works very well, and absolutely usefull.
Overall very good build quality, i thik the enclosure is very important on a printer, and makes it quiet, but still not recommended in your bedroom.
I think absolutely worth every penny.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Nice 👌

This is my first 3D printer and I am extremely happy with it. It was easy to set up and I’ve printed something everyday so far with it. I print from a cheap usb I brought from Amazon (tip make sure files have gone through your slicer software otherwise you won’t see anything in the usb when it’s inserted into the printer). I printed the chillers in the photo using tinkercad and they printed really well on the printer. I would be tempted to buy another so I can print more stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value and good quality

I bought this to replace my Flashforge Finder, and have loved it. Straight out the box to print in less than 30 minutes only failure I had was operator error. I printed out an external spool holder so I could take the larger size reels and it works perfect. Easy to clean out extruder.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMassive step up from the Finder at only 50 more it’s great value for money.
The level of quality is outstanding and
After the latest update that supports 3mm nozzle it work perfectly without any clicking noises what so ever.
I recommend unlocking expert mode on the software and tinkering with the print settings for best results.
Last thing I tried was translucent PLA 5mm layer height with 2 shell thickness and the result was staggering! Zero visible lines and enough robustness that it won’t crack! (I did a QA test by throwing the figure down the stairs)
    Great produc

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve been using a ender 3 for 2 years now and decided to add another printer to my collection. I selected this one as it’s fully enclosed and a good brand. I’m not disappointed at all, it prints very well and easy to use. Nice features like WiFi and cloud support to print from. Also the touch screen is very useful and makes printing simple.
    Can’t fault it so far.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is the third 3d printer I own and I’m pleased to say I am impressed.

I have owned other printers in the last and found they have all failed prematurely but due to the lockdown downtime I took a punt on this one.

The Machine is well built and prints perfect each time.

One of the best things you can do if convert it to use a Eod Nozzle instead of the included one. I have also converted it to use a glass bed.

    The downsides are;

No filament detector has not once Worked unfortunately.

ABS printing I have found difficult with this machine.

    Small 150 x 150 build volume.

Levelling of the bed is difficult.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBrought this as a 1st foray into 3d printing. Easy setup, great quality prints for the price point. If I were to buy again I would perhaps go for something with a larger bed size for a bit more flexibility. Not a 5star printer but very good for price point.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is was my first use of a 3D printer and all I can say is…it’s great! The default settings out of the box are fine for PLA. When printing with ABS I found that bed adhesion was a little lacking (bed temp 100’C), to combat this issue I used a glue stick, I put a very light coat on the print bed (wiped off excess with a damp paper towel) now I have no issues with printing ABS. The printer itself comes with an excellent “Free” slicer program. The prints come out crisp and without defects using the high quality settings.
The only real downside to this printer is the fact that you cannot use normal 1Kg filament spools inside the printer itself, but after a quick look on the internet you will find lots of adapters that you can print to use these spools.
I would recommend this printer for someone getting into the hobby.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBrilliant 3D Printer! Purchased mine direct from the manufacturer instead of Amazon.

Prints like a dream, but make sure you use high quality branded filliment, found lesser quality filliment although does still work has a tendancy of clogging the nozzle.

Bar this, it’s a great printer! Very quiet and the enclosed housing keeps the print bed free of dust and dirt of which can effect prints!
