GIONIEN Plug-in Induction Hob 13 Amp 3kW, 60cm Integrated Electric Cooktop with Bridge Zone, 4 Cooking Rings Cooker GIT470SP [Energy Class A+]
Induction cooktops generate heat only where it is needed â in the base of the pan. What does this mean for you? More safety and greater convenience. The lower temperature keeps both big and little hands safe from burning. Not only that, but an induction cooktop brings 2 litres of water to a boil twice as fast as a glass-ceramic cooktop, which also saves a great deal of energy.
Unlike most 4 zones induction hobs, the 13A cooker hob is easy installation, as the unit can be plugged into a normal mains power socket. However, donât get too excited, since this limits the power to around 3kW in total. While thatâs fine on a single burner, switching on further burners will distribute the total power, limiting heat-up speed.

Intelligent Timer & Pan Detector
Programmable built-in timer, which ranges from 1 to 99 minutes, will turn the hob off automatically when it counts down to 0 and pan detector works when you take the pan off without turning off the power, machine alerts for a minute and shuts down automatically. Suits for all kind of flat cookware.
Power Boost– Intense rapid heat
No more waiting around for pots to boil. The PowerBoost button gives you an instant burst of heat that boils water in under 90 seconds â thatâs even faster than an electric kettle. Its perfect for tasks like boiling potatoes, and other quick cooking jobs too , like searing meat.
Easy to Keep Clean
The sleek and flat surface means thereâs nowhere for dirt to hide, making it the perfect table or worktop cooking solution. With induction cooking, heat can be instantly cut if food looks to boil over and, if it does, it wonât burn onto the cooler surface. You can just wipe it clean!

As it was a plug-in I thought it would sit on top of our cooker. This has the old electric heated plate type rings, which are terribly inefficient. These are disconnected and no longer usable. Although the underside of this new hob has 4 feet of sorts, they do not extend beyond the depth of the hob, in fact it sits on the fan casings beneath the hob. A very poor design. As I had already unpacked it, I decided not to send it back. Instead I used my engineering skills and built a platform on which to stand it, ensuring enough clearance below it, to let the thing keep cool.
Now that’s done it works perfectly. It is easily controlled and accurate in its temperature stability. Easy enough to keep clean and cools quite quickly after finishing cooking. As for the sticky label, well a bit of kitchen roll with a few drops of cellulose thinners works a treat.
The first one we received had obviously been dropped on the corner as a piece was broken off. This was clearly done during delivery as the box isn’t very strong; best to check before you accept it.
The replacement arrived in tact despite some damage to the box. The reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because of the poor packaging and a very annoying sticky label on the cooking surface that was very hard to remove.
It was very easy to fit after I had enlarged the hole in the worktop to their exact measurements. The controls are straightforward even if like me you have not had one before. I particularly like the slide touch control that saves you repeatedly dabbing the +- to get the right temperature. There is a fan that operates when a ring is on (all induction hobs seem to have one), but it is fairly quiet and goes off immediately you turn the ring off.
On power usage, it seems very efficient as the pans heat up very quickly in a matter of seconds even quicker than gas! If you use the boost function, it heats a full kettle in 3.5 mins which is about the same as a large gas burner on full. The manual doesn’t make it clear whether this is using 1500W or 2000W but even if its the latter that’s pretty good going.
I guess the real test is how long it lasts, the gas hob it replaced was still working after 15 years of daily use!
Had a few of these over the years and all great. My problem has been dropping things that cracked the glass. Only slight complaint with this one is that the control icons could be bolder and therefore clearer.
I purchased one of these 3 years ago and only replaced with the exact same brand this year due to me clumsly dropping my coffee bottle on it leaving a crack.
This inductor cooking is great for all family use. Quick and easy to install, clean and operate. The price hasnt changed much if you get when its on offer 179.99 June 23.
This is my second hob and just love it much easier than my first hob. Just great highly recommended some folk will find it complicated but trust me it’s not compared to some. Just love it thank you
Hob looks great, but alot of messing around to adjust heat , down side they don’t tell you that you need flat base saucepans and that alone is costly to replace a se
Bought this as a temporary hob while my kitchen being refitted. Excellent quality. U loose a bit of power if all 4 rings in use but that’s a rarity for me ! Great to have the plug so it could be moved about as necessary
Good features, very fast at heating stuff conpared to the old gas hob we had, so easy to keep clea
Good value but quality for the price. This was installed into a rental property and the tenant appears happy with it. It was easy to install.
It works very well – and saves on energy bill
Good quality. East to install. Plugs into standard 13 amp socket (UK). Not suitable for thinner depth worktops if oven is under.
Cannot work out how to use the 2 plates together but otherwise good hob .
Easy to install , just plug it in!
Like everything other than the increased noise from the pulsing lower heat and simmer settings but thats just getting use to it.
Quick to install , fit straight into the cut out from the gas hob we were replacing. It cooks absolutely fine much quicker to warm up than the gas hob , we’ve had it for about 3 weeks now and can’t fault it .
Was a bit dubious this being plug in but it works a treat. Very fast to get things boiling way faster than our old gas hob.
I’ve had a gas stove top all my life. This is a revelation.
The install was a small faff as it’s slightly larger than the hole in my counter top but other than that and changing a few pans, I’m sold.
So easy to clean, just use glass cleaner when cold.
Stupidly quick boiling of water on stove top * 1 min from cold.
The power is enough for a family of 4.
Measure carefully. Works a treat. Slightly noisy on first switch on.
This hob was so easy to install and so far I’ve had no problem understanding how to work it. Just need to make sure I buy a protector cover for it now before I smash it like I did with my other one. A tin of tomatoes dropped out of my cupboard above
Only thing to mention is the lead/plug is quite short! But great bit of kit!
Easy to install and use. Takes a few minutes to get used to controls and slide settings. Haven’t tried the bridge setting yet. Replaced gas hob in same hole, with little adjustment. Very responsive controls
There is no dish lights it is a good cooker top
So much easier to look after than our gas hob with all the components to clean. Very fast heat up too, even quicker than the gas!!
Easy to install. Total current well within 13A spec. Controls need getting used to. Could do with remote control away from the cooking surface. Controls are annoying. Goes off with slight touch of on/off. That happens when the top is wiped to remove moisture. Probably the same with other hobs but needs a better way. A stick on remote might do the job.
This hob is great, easy to instal and easy to use. I am really pleased with this purchase. I can assure you that if you buy one you will be satisfies, I am amazed at all that it can do.
Superb product easy to clean and use just follow the instructions on the handbook6
Fantastic hob, so quick and easy to install
Looking forward to cooking
Super quick controllable heat! I had several makes of induction in the past and this is by far the best!
The slider control is a brilliant addition to my previous one
Induction is a new thing to me. Gradually getting used to it as so different to the ceramic hob I was used to.
I can’t rate this high enough.
My gas hob broke and the gas was capped off. I needed a replacement hob without having to pay a fortune for fitting, and I needed something I could just plug into the existing plug hole the gas hob had used.
This is great. It plugs straight into the wall. I bought a jigsaw at the same time to cut the existing hole a little larger so it would fit, and it slotted right in. Does a perfectly decent job…. I only tend to use 1 – 2 rings at a time anyway, so have no issue with the lower power. It kicks out a LOT of heat and level 9 is crazy hot 🙂 I tend to simmer on 5, and it all works out well. Maybe one day I will have it hard wired, but honestly, its perfectly fine as it is. It looks great. I’m really happy with it.
Despite being a plug in, the rings are so fast on the max, comparing to the ceramic I used to have, it surprises you. I am not all that sure about the lower settings though. I wish you could see the settings a bit more clear too.
Great product. Fitted it in my brothers kitchen and not ever having an induction hob before, he loves it! Very easy to fit and functionality is as good as a lot more expensive products.
Good quality too
I was looking for an induction hob to replace a gas one. It needed to be a model that just plugged in a 13amp socket as I would otherwise have needed to do some re-wiring. This fitted the bill electrics-wise and was at a competitive price. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it works well. One niggle is that the controls are a bit small for me but all these hobs are similar. Perhaps I should just buy glasses!
This hob is great to cook on and very responsive. I just plugged it in! I am sure it is much quicker to cook on but doesn’t burn the food. it makes this great waves noise quite relaxing! I love the fact that if I take the pan of with in 20 seconds it will switch the ring off! I also love the two ring connector and have used a rectangle griddle for steaks
I would highly recommend this hob and I was lucky it was 152 down from 185, and I have also seen it for 299 on another website, so I got a bargain as well!
Don’t forget it will only work with pans that are compatible with induction hobs but I managed to get a decent set on here that was not expensive at all.
Really easy to fit, just drops in and plugged into where my old gas hob took its power from. Looks great, easy to use, seems durable. After years using gas it’s been a painless adjustment and this actually gets hotter, faste
Does everything it says it should. Very quick to cook with easy to clean. An all round solution for those that don’t want to rewire, particularly as we don’t always use all four jobs.
Plug wire too short difficult to get grease marks off not that easy to regulate heat wish I had stuck with gas hob
Very pleased with this hob.
I did get a new set of saucepans as the old ones were 15 yrs old.
The hob was easy to fit. It comes with a plug on but our old hob was hard wired. So cut the plug off and wired direct.
The hob is easy to clean. Heats the contents of the pans so fast. You turn it down and it works strait away. No heat lag. Heats the pans twice as fast as our old hob.
When you finished and turn it off it cools down super fast.
This was not the cheapest but still good value and it has not disappointed.
The supplier gave the upgrade code info to my electrician which meant I could have it hard wired and then
have the full 6kw available.
It’s an excellent hob, very pleased with it.
I bought this so my son who has learning disabilities could join in cooking. It’s a fantastic hob. Great price and really easy to use. I’d definitely recommend it.
Really good product.
Looks great and easy to use and clean.
Would thoroughly recommend this induction hob.
Biols water as fast as an electric kettle so will save money on energy bills.
Brought this for our home on wheels, absolutely over the moon with it, works amazing, really great to cook on it, love the boast mode, boils our kettle quickly. Cooking a full roast is no hassle at all. Would highly recommend.
Very easy to use just plug in and away you go. Had no problems so far and very pleased with my purchase and a great price.
Does it’s job, easy to clean, not difficult to install
Always had ceramic or gas hobs so this was a first. Combines the power and control of gas with the cleanability of ceramic. Obviously we had to buy new pans but wouldn’t go back. I would recommend hardwiring to benefit from the double power rating.
I liked everything about this product, and it was up and running in no time, I highly recommend this.
I fit built in oven and hobs for a living and l must say very good build quality and must cheaper than the other more well known makes
Really pleased with this. Never had an induction hob before.
Works well, dropped straight into the hole that the old ceramic hob was in.
Easy to clean, as the surface itself never gets hot enough to burn food.
Works nicely and as expected, using now with a 13A socket. Big bonus is that it can be reprogrammed to work at full power if connected to 32A cooker circuit. ( Need to change cable if doing this). Just what I needed with future kitchen upgrade in view. Supplier helpfull and responded quickly. Note the 1 year warranty is exchange, there are no repair facilities in UK, but at this price for 13A/32A device am willing to risk future problem.
Wasn’t sure if to go for a plug in induction hob or a hard wired. Decided on this plug in, which we got during “Black Friday”, for a really good price.
Apart from a problem with the hole in my work top, not being quite big enough, it had been really easy to install and use.
Works really well, very impressed.
Only had it fitted a week ago and so far I can’t fault it. It heats up the food you are cooking very quickly and when you have done, it’s just a quick wipe and it’s clean, great.
Controls are not very easy to see theyre very faint. Any setting below 8 the cooker seems go on and off constantly. Maybe thus is because we’ve just plugged it in and it has less power than getting an electrician to install it.
I reported a fault on my unit and within less than a week a new unit was sent . Great service.
Great product, easy to clean and super efficient. Plus no mains installation. Fab
This suited me because I wanted to move my hob to a place without hard wiring .You just plug this in and go . The controls are a bit tricky at first I also updated my cookware as they were not all suitable for induction hobs .
All in all a good buy
First time in buying/using an induction hob and got to say I love it. I did however have to buy all new pots and pans as mine wernt suitable for the induction hob but didn’t need much of an excuse really lol. So all in all Its fab its lovely looking easy to use and modern too plus a wipe down with a damp cloth and it looks like new agai
Love it ! Now I know it’s early days as it was only delivered this morning , but so far we are thrilled with this purchase . We have always had gas hobs before and fancied a change, always like the look and ease to keep clean Of this type of hob. It was easy for hubby to fit , plug in and we were away . We think it looks just great, we Have tested all the different things it does and it lives up to all expectations . We will just see how long it carries on like this but we have confidence already that it is very well made , stylish to look at and just perfect for us . JUST TO ADD after daily use we are now in March…and we are still thrilled with this purchase , it is just great !! we cannot fault it . My hubby loves the timer as his daily serving of porridge is perfect every time setting the timer to how he just likes it so we are both well pleased it is very easy to clean and still looks brand new . 13 MONTHS NOW in full use it is still great , only regret . Should have bought one years ago . It’s a dream to keep spotlessly clean and cooks everything to perfection we just Love it !
Easy to install & operate, and it works so much faster & more efficiently than a regular electric hob. Bonus is it runs perfectly well off of a regular 13A socket.

This was perfect for our needs. Looking for something relatively inexpensive that we can move from one part of the house to another during building work. Plug in was essential and was really easy to install. Be aware that the lead isn’t the longest though, before you cut any holes!
I read other reviews so knew that I wasn’t going to get full power from all 4 zones at once, but this has never really been an issue. Boils a kettle really quickly, gets a pan of veg going in no time and has plenty of power for the wok. Unless you try to do all three, full blast at once. Full power is ok on 2 zones, but then it’ll start to spread the power out if you get greedy.
The fan is a bit noisy for a while after cooking. If that is going to bother you, you might have to pay a bit more for something else. Personally I enjoy the surprise sense of peace I get when it stops halfway through dinner.
I only put 4 stars for easy to clean because I have seen better glass surfaces. Not sure what it is about this one, but the finish across the glass never quite seems perfect. Hard to explain – a bit smeary. It doesn’t affect the function though, and you can only tell if you look close up.
If you’re wondering whether to go induction or not – do it! You’ll never look back. In my view, far easier and more controllable than even gas.
In previous kitchen renovations we have upgraded to more expensive induction hobs, this one is very much on par with the others more highly priced and worked for our budget. You obviously have to buy pots and pans that are suitable but we already had them so didn’t see the extra financial expense!
very modern cooker, well made and well presented, however the led lights showing the power setting for each plate are very dim and difficult to read. also what does H mean next to power setting-not mentioned in the instructio
A very neat induction hob that certainly brings things to the boil super quickly. It’s a little tricky to adjut the power to certain settings, but given the price, this seems to be an excellent way to ditch the (greenhouse) gas.
Very nice looking induction hob, was easy to install. Heats up very quickly. Easy to clean, really like the clean modern look.
As described good value for money easy to use, second one I’ve had due to moving would recommend
Excellent!! Prompt delivery, we’ll packaged but without excess waste. Works an absolute treat. Who knew a plug and play could be so good?? Grea
Great induction hob just plug in. No need for electricia
Having never used an induction hob before I found this easy to use
This is a well designed hob unit with touch sensitive heat control system, it is easy to clean & looks very smart, it was great value for money & works well!
