A Little Goes a Long Way
Gnarly Joe Beard Softener can be applied to a wet or dry beard. The cream is extra-thick so start by scooping a small amount on the end of a finger. Distribute evenly around the beard in three stripes: both cheeks and the centre.
Use your finger tips to gently massage this in, working it right into the hair roots. Apply more if needed. Leave in overnight (no need to wash out in the morning).
Notes on Day Time Use:
The cream is triple-whipped and may initially leave white residue (especially on darker beards), which will disappear in a few minutes. That’s why it’s best for night use, but the Softener can be used during the day, as long as you allow time for the luxury cream to absorb.

Product is light , not oily and i love it. Price is high compared to other products but worth it due to the quality and feel.

Works really well, just need to keep using it every night for a few weeks. The mint is pretty strong though.
Bergamot and Benzoin Beard Cream.
I bought this because the reviews for the Gnarly Joe Beard Shampoo said it was a good accompaniment.
The Bergamot and Benzoin scent is pleasant, sweet but not sickly, and not too overpowering either.
In a wet beard the product distributes nicely, however my beard is thick and coarse and needs more product than instructed to get the results I’m looking for. In a dry beard it takes more effort.
While my beard does feel soft, it tends to feel a little ‘cakey’ the after. Once the product sinks in, my beard doesn’t feel quite as soft as I’d hoped. There are still a few small dry patches, which I can usually combat with beard oil. However, I’ll admit I was hoping I wouldn’t need it quite as often, especially as the cream is advised for night time use to let the rich ingredients do their work.
It’s only early days, so I’m going to stick with it and see how I feel once the product is used up. I do think this product might be better suited to much shorter beards to help get directly to the skin, rather than longer thicker beards.
I only have a short beard but beardruff (dandruff) was an issue for me, especially if I was wearing a dark top. It wasn’t a great look! I now use this cream daily and all beardruff has gone. In fact it cleared it up almost immediately and my beard is also softer. Goes on the rest of your face really great as well. Be warned though, it has a strong smell when applied and, if applying to your face as well as your just your beard, the peppermint and pine makes your eyes sting for short while (only a minute or two).
I will definitely be buying again but may try a different scent next time.

Absolutely love this cream, this is the second one I’ve bought as the results were obvious pretty much straight away, rub it in, go to sleep….that’s it.
Bought this to keep my sons tach soft, but not quite that, but smells good.
Goes on nice and easy , no greasy residue or mess , only problem is they need to do bigger tins.
Smells pretty overpowering – It’s all me and my mrs can smell at night, but once you’re asleep its all good. A little bit goes a long way and it does make the beard softer….+ less times where i feel its dry and stringy. Overall positive
Ive tried loads of balms, oils and ointments this is simply the best. A little expensive, but well worth it. Smells great too!
Been using this for about ten days now,put it in at night,i like the scent the beard does feel softer,at the moment i am probably putting in a bigger amount than the average person,as i am on month 9 of my yeard,so the old beard is pretty thick at the moment,i have been using beard oil to tame the mane and beard balm,the oil is good to use,i found the balm far to heavy for me personally,the beard softner from Gnarly Joe being more of a cream far easier to use,i may even start to use it as a day time product as well as a night time,once my year is up and the beard has been trimmed..i have already purchased more softner from Joe
The cream is very soft and quality product. Really notice the difference in the softness and freshness of my beard. Had an initial problem when I received the product but this was obviously down to the carrier. Gnarly Joe’s customer care and support is 1st class which in my view sets a very high customer standard. Does what it says on the tin and it smells nice
Softened my dry wirey beard after one use. Tried different oils and balms but nothing seemed to help but this stuff did, smell is strong but I don’t mind it. Will definitely buy agai

Loved the feel and smell of this and it does make my beard softer. Only criticism is it doesn’t last very long even using a small amount.

Smells incredible and really helps soften and condition the beard
Really great cream and definitely works to help straighten out beard hair. The cream smells lovely, and a good coating brushed through and flattened out with your hands before bed and my beard is noticeably smoother and straighter by the morning. A quick comb through in the morning and my once curly beard is nice and straight and about an inch longer. It’s made my beard so soft I’m constantly fighting off women who want to stroke it.

Finally a beard product that actually does something! Since growing my beard I have tried moisturisers,waxes,balms and oils. Some of them do a bit, most of them do very little. This one is very good. Apply it and let it sink inland it leaves your beard smelling great and holding it all in place while leaving it lovely and soft to the touch. I will be ordering again.
Always a bit dubious when it comes to items like this. Have tried a couple of other brands that just matted the beard up rather than moisturising it. This was great, made my beard nice and soft after only a few days of use, great smell too. Highly recommended.

Triple whipped. He’s not lying. This stuff is absolutely lush. It’s a boon that not only can you tame your lockdown facial fuzz, but you can use this stuff to moisturize your tired and weary face. This is my go to brand, and Joe has come up with another absolute must have for your bathroom shelf. Smells divine. Seriously recommend this!
