Used this for camping and it served me for the whole week away to charge my phones and other devices. Can be powered by a solar panel also if more charge is needed.

After initial use this failed to charge beyond 21per cent. Contacted Goldberg who offered a solution which we had already tried so they immediately offered a replacement which arrived within a couple of days. So far this is working but I have noticed a couple of reviews with the same issue suggesting there may be a bigger problem. However to date brilliant customer service

We’ve been doing a few more backpacking camping holidays which means that we have limited space and weight of course so the fact that we love to use our camping batteries would have meant that a lot of that weight would have gone into the battery on its own so a smaller device was required hence the need for this one.

Although it isn’t at the top end of capacity’s when you’re talking about using it to simply charge mobile phones for a couple of nights then this really does do the job and more, we’ve used it not only to charge mobile phones but also to run some lighting that we had in the tent to re buy and cook at night, but we also have it connected to a solar panel which means that it charges up really quickly even if we’re on the move a lot, if I was to suggest that you buy any accessory it would be that a simple 100 Watt solar panel in order to keep this topped up and you’ll never need to charge it again.

Using it is straight forward if you want to charge it you just plug straight into the input port if that’s via a normal plug or via a solar panel it doesn’t make any difference it still just fires up and starts working and charging straight away, then you have a bunch of different outlets including USB C USB and of course normal sockets for the UK which means you can plug everything from fast charges onto your basic charges or even some small kitchen items as well if needed, we have run a very basic fridge off it recently although that’s not something that we plan on using a lot it still works well for visits to things like the beach in order to keep your drinks cool for the day.

The added bonus of having a digital display on the front actually helps you to as you’re able to monitor the amount of charge either coming into the battery or that is left in the battery in percentage terms which helps you to keep on top of it at all times.

Brilliant piece of kit and for no real money. I nearly went for a more expensive similar item but I thought I’d give this little fellow a go. I also bought the solar panel so I could charge phones and even the unit whilst away in the motorhome.
On a nice day in April the solar power was around 40watts input which is more than enough to charge phones etc.
We took it with us on a four day trip away and all of us charged our phones For the 3 days and it still had around 25%
Robust unit but I did by the carry bag for it.

Very happy with the purchase so fa

I wanted a power station with LiFep04 and a screen with watts in and out, very hard to find at this price! The R150 unit fitted the bill perfectly. Make sure you fully charge it when you first receive the unit to help make the battery % as accurate as possible. (Note the screen doesn’t show ‘time remaining’ like on the bigger R300 model)

Great power station with great features

The company that makes or sells a product is often never mentioned in a review. For HOVERFLY I have to make an exception: they have been superb from start to finish. There was a small problem with the power station and they handled it extremely quickly and efficiently. HOVERFLY is a company that deserves your business.

The power station itself is great and does what it says on the box. The station charges fully in about 6-7 hours on its DC input (both when connected to a shed solar panel, and when connecting to the included adapter). The input current is limited to about 2A so that matches up perfectly. Once charged the power station can recharge basically anything with a USB(-C) input. The 60W PD is great for charging up a laptop and works well. The box also includes a barrel to car cigarette lighter socket. This way you can charge or power anything that fits into an ordinary cigarette lighter in the car (up to 10A, so 120W). The number of USB sockets is great (two times USB-C, two times USB-A), but the two additional 12V outputs really sweeten the deal.

All of the above is DC power and works without making any noise. If you push the AC button and have a power socket plugged in you can use any device up to 150W. It’s rather strict about this, and even a 170W adapter didn’t work. Anything at or below 150W worked. If you use AC the fan inside the appliance does turn on. The air that comes out never gets warm, so the fan probably could have been bigger and/or run quieter. The AC output is also a modified sine and not a pure sine. That isn’t the biggest problem though as very few appliances requiring a pure sine require less than 150W. For our needs it’s perfect as we mostly use it to plug in various battery charger adapters.

The power output of the device is as expected. It easily recharges a laptop twice. A single phone could probably be recharged a dozen times or more. There’s also a light (great for walking around with it in the dark). The display is informative, clear to read, and appears to be accurate. The wattage that is being reported is within 5% of what the device that is charging is reporting. The battery technology is great and uses the safe, reliable, and long-lasting LiFePO4. For our needs we no longer need to use the grid for anything that is battery powered in the house, whether it is a laptop, phone, or even the battery-powered vacuum cleaner. All of them are charged now through the power station, which is charged from the free energy we get from a solar panel on our shed.

Overall I think this power station will last for a long time. If you can live with the 150W limit on AC it is a great power station in a very convenient size. The station itself comes highly recommended. HOVERFLY have been the best and we will buy from them again after our experience with their service!

Brilliant power station with excellent customer suppo

Very pleased with this. Used for a couple of trips now, and gives me good piece of mind to know that I can rely on this for power and charging devices when needed. It’s a little heavy, but feels well built and robust. Displays are clear and self-explanatory.

Very great product. This is the perfect season for a field trip. My whole family loved it. It’s a must for a field trip. It’s not too big. It’s easy to carry. It has a lot of different sockets, which can be used by all the appliances we carry, and the battery capacity is large, so you don’t have to worry about running out of power suddenly. Happy with it so far.

As we have solar panels, at home, when the sun is out I like to load up various powerpacks to use for ‘free’ power when the sun goes down. We have a few for phones, tablets, etc. but I wanted something bigger that we could take away to our holiday caravan on the coast – why pay for electricity there when I can bring my own? I wanted something with lots of input and output options, but not too big so that it doesn’t take up much room when packing the car or too move around. As you can see, this has all the in / out options you could need – including a 3-pin UK plug socket, and it also comes with an adapter for car “cigarette lighter” connectors, too. My lad used it to power his laptop, playing Football Manager, when we were away last weekend so it’s already doing what I wanted it to. Size-wise, it’s only a little taller than my hand and the carry handle makes it easy to carry around. Now we’re into the sunnier part of the year, I’ll be able to load this up pretty much every day and then use it up at night to recharge phones, tablets and so on and it won’t take long before I’ve covered the cost of this unit and I’m then into profit on my electricity use.

Small but packed with power, great for travelling

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is such a great portable power station.
We go camping quality a lot and obviously take all of our devices with us. My two kids take their phones and tablets as do we and I also take a laptop.
This small but powerful portable generator provides us with enough power to keep us all going.
I can power my windows laptop through the UK Plug outlet on this generator which is amazing.
It has a clear display showing what power is being used and how much charge it has left. It also has a very handy Light on the side. You can also charge this via solar panels if you have them.
Overall I am absolutely delighted with this portable power station and for the following reasons I have decided to rate it 5 stars:
    Compact size
    Light
    Sturdy
    Powerful
    Great battery life
    Clear display
    Good connection options

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this. It was essential for long weekend trips away with countless hours spent in the car. Thankfully, the battery capacity on this is huge! A few different inputs and lots of different outputs which goes a long way to powering our mobile fridge as well as laptops and the charging of tablets and mobile phones. It also has an LED light on the side of it which has different modes of brightness as well as flash and SOS. For the price, we are very happy with it and it will be coming with us whenever we have a trip away.

    Lots of power!
