Easy to grip pliers and scissors are very sharp cut right threw the braided line no problem
Though I’ve really only used the pliers and scissors. They haven’t let me down. They have a great design and light weight too. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a set like this. Or even as a gift for someone who fishes or just got into fishing.
Bei dem Set ging es mir hauptschlich um die Zange, welche ihre Arbeit bisher sehr gut verrichtet. Manko… bei zu festem Druck habe ich das Gefhl, dass die Griffe nachgeben und eine Arretierung fr den geschlossenen Zustand fehlt leider, wodurch das Futteral zum Verstauen gebraucht wird.
Die kleine Schere ist so ein billiges GiveAway und fr mich nicht nutzbar. Angelschnur monofil ist schon ein Problem, ganz zu schweigen von geflochtener Schnur wo die Schere zur Klemme wird.
Die Funktion des Hakenlsers konnte ich bis dato leider noch nicht ergrnden. Und die beiden “Schnre” nutze ich auch nicht, da mir diese zu kurz sind.
Fr den Preis aber alles ok.
Overall, metal seems strong, durable, and light enough not to be a nuisance. It does have a coating on it that will help with corrosion resistance. The pliers and scissors function as intended. The lanyard and sheath make it easier to carry around and keep track of them while multitasking.
I’m always loosing my gear so the teathers on the pliers and scissors are great. I like how bulky yet thin the pliers are too!
My 4.5 year old son loves fishing in the stocked neighbors pond. We do catch and release and these have been really helpful for me to fish the hook out of the mouth and do easy repairs on the lines.
Well put together kit, Pliers a bit bigger than I thought they would be,but excellent quality set, holster and Lanyard a positive plus., but would say they are more geared towards sea fishing..Scissors nice and sharp,with large finger and thumb holes,perfect for a larger mans digits.Zinger of decent quality,and good length of lanyard.Fish unhooker,yet to be tested,it does feel slightly that it may fail fairly quickly,but I will reserve passing judgement until used a few times. All in all,well worth the price paid,and very happy with purchase.At this point I would recommend the kit to friends..
Nice tool except they are on the large side for Carping or course fishing.
I like that for a purchase you got all the tools you may need for a fishing trip. A well made pliers that has cutting edge for snipping a line, has hook remover, and a small scissors. Everything seems to be well made. The plier has some weight to it and it has a storage pocket included. The scissors has a land yard cord attached to it. Overall a very good value fishing tool set.
This is an initial review of the Gonex Fishing Plier bundle. (A follow up update will be made after actually using the kit outdoor.)
Overall, this is a great bundle for the price. My initially impression of of the quality is great. The plier is indeed spring loaded so it does spring open automatically.
The missing of a locking mechanism is definitely an disappointment. This would have been a 5 star product if it has a locking mechanism.
The inclusion of the little scissors and the hook removers definitely add value to the overall bundle.
The holster/sheath is made of nylon, it’s not as good as the hard plastic type of sheath but it gets the job done. It’s good that the belt loop on the back of the sheath is wide enough to accommodate the bulky belt buckle of my wader.
It’s an overall good value package for what you get.
I honestly though it’s be a lot worse then it truly is. But to be honest the build quality for this price point is pretty good! Scissors are very sharp and cut great.
Having the retractable lanyard and the holster for the plyers and scissors are actually very nice, if you’re catching a lot of fish it’s really nice to have them immediately accessible.
The fish hook remover is the only one that feels pretty cheaply made, if you’re careful I’m sure they’ll hold up just fine but I imagine it won’t take much to break them.
All in all this simple little kit you can’t really go wrong with. I’m sure there’s alot more quality of tools out there but for the occasional fisher these will work just fine!
Really like this set up. The pliers seem to be made of quality material. Not cheap and flimsy. The line cutter is sharp. The sheath is very nice and conveniently clips onto a belt. Have not tried the hook remover yet but it seems well made and should serve it’s purpose well. The scissors are plenty sharp but a absolutely love the lanyard. I and going to attach it to the seat in my little pond boat. They will come in handy. This is definitely a great buy. Tons of value in this bundle.
