There are numerous benefits to getting the right-sized tip. Most importantly, heat will be more efficiently transferred to the work piece, which offers easy wetting by the solder. | Easy Tip Change MechanismThe FX8804 features an easy change mechanism for swapping out different size tips. This listing seems like it should be a knockoff, but as far as I can tell it’s genuine. Haven’t played with it much, but it does work. Mine came with an assortment of other hakko tips that do not go with this hand piece. Some are for a regular fx888d some are for another iron that i am not familiar with….
These are indeed accurate if you know the job you’re doing and choose the correct tips. It’s not a case of one tip does all, this isn’t the iron for that. You need to dish out 30+ quid on each other size oftips. That’s the reason why I’ve marked it down on ‘value for money’ as the tips are quite expensive and if you’re serious about electronic repair/manufacturing, you’ll need more than one size !
