Got this for our 12 month old boisterous black lab as he would often pull when leads were just on his collar, which resulted in him choking himself.

He doesn’t like harnesses (and this was no different) but, once we have it on, he is so much easier to control!
My wife particularly likes it as she’s back in control when taking him for walks!

My Beagle backed out of this too many times…not saying it is a bad design but not good for those stubborn clever dogs.

Great product, however ordered a medium for my BB, the harness fits well but is quite thin and does have a tendency to split round when she’s pulling constantly, does help with pulling, when used with the double ended halti lead.

Amazed how brilliantly this works. Was sceptical at first but after reading reviews I decided to buy it and so glad I did. Walking our dog is now a pleasurable experience for all of us after previously having her pulling us along continuously! A fantastic harness, would 100% recommend this item

Did not use the product! I sent it back! I thought it was a bit to heavy with too much metal on it! But it looked very well made, sturdy and probably very durable

Brilliant, best harness we have found. Have tried a few different ones but Halti is definitely the best. Easy to put on and take off, seems to be comfortable . No complaints from JJ. Good control using a double ended lead and no pulling. We did buy a large size but the medium is a good fit for our 12month old Golden Retriever.

I’ve tried several solutions in trying to stop constant pulling from my pooch with varying success. Whilst this is still not perfect, as she does still pull a little, I found this to be the best choice for all round performance and likely the best I’m going to achieve. The pulling is greatly reduced, making a walk far more enjoyable. When she does pull, it isn’t with the same force as before and my arm doesn’t suffer as a result. A GL worked well initially, reducing the pulling massively, but that soon irritated her and made walking impossible whilst she kept trying to get it off her nose.
I haven’t had this one long enough to confirm the durability, but so far so good and would recommend giving it a go. It really does help!

I cannot stress enough how fantastic this product is. I received yesterday and this morning trialled it with my 7 month old Jack Russell who pulls like an express train. After eyeing it with dubious reserve (him not me)! He soon settled to it. No pulling, easy to control left or right by flipping the lead over his shoulder. So much nicer than the original halti over the nose of years back. This product is a real winner in my opinion. I purchased the training lead to complete it also.

I like this. It doesn’t completely stop pulling. It helps handle my husky’s strength. Combine this with the head collar and Halti training lead and ur in for a chance. All three together make the world of difference to my demon husky who pulls like a trai

Despite trying different approaches/treats my little Cocker Poo insists on steaming ahead of me but first time out with this harness she actually WALKED so well that my 5 year old grand daughter was able to walk her!! Only issue is with the sizing as despite her measurements fitting with the guide it is a little big on the neck even with it as tight as possible; this means that the front hangs low and the lead falls down and tends to tangle her front leg.

I bought this plus the lead of the same brand and it works really well for our 1 year old shepherd who is very excitable and pulls a lot. I normally struggled to walk her but this helps a lot ! Also very easy to put on.
Great value for money I think.

Bought this for my seven month old cavachon who pulls constantly on walks. I can’t believe the difference, he immediately stopped pulling and was much happier and calmer on the walk. My dog was really happy wearing it, and it seemed very comfortable for him. I’m thrilled with my purchase!

This is amazing! I have a 3 yr old mini dachshund who used to pull so hard her feet would be sore so we couldn’t take her for long walks. On the first walk with this all sustained pulling has stopped I’ve added the “steady” command which she is now responding to. Before she was very stubborn and resistant to training. I couldn’t recommend this enough.

This has been a God send for our excitable Labrador. It fits well and does a good job. Having the D ring on his chest gives better control rather than a pulling contest when ring is attached to harness on his back or collar on his neck. It’s kind and does not rub.

Bought this wit the collar and lead – and now actually enjoy walking the dog !! Before it was not a happy experience as she pulled all the time! But with this harness and double lead – it really works and I am so happy as I had tried a lot of other ones which made no difference

We have a German Sheperd who was terrible on the lead. We tried using a halti head harness, which didn’t help at all. We ordered this as a final effort before hiring a trainer as nothing we did would help. But this did. It took her a bit to get used to it, but now she walks perfectly. And can’t pull too hard against the lead.

The only (minor) negative is that the buckles loosen during walks so they need re-tightening every so often.

Just back from our first walk with the Halti harness attached. We have tried many others, including the nose Halti which he just ate.. But now an over boisterous beagle cross is finaly defeated and the walk was a complete joy. I even took the long way home! He is a changed doggo and might even make parole due to his newly found good behaviour!
I read reviews on sizing here first, and i nervously ordered a Small even though he’s more medium sized.. it fits perfectly with plenty scope to adjust if he gets any bigger or eats too much over Xmas. I dont have a double ended lead (yet) so just clipped his normal one on to the front. It still did the job amazingly well.
Really wish I’d bought this one first!

This harness works wonders – we have 2 springer spaniels that pull relentlessly on the lead. Since buying a Halti harness for each one, the difference is unbelievable. The dogs still pull, but the harnesses seem to spread the pressure more evenly around the body as opposed to just the neck / chest area……making it more comfortable for both dog & owner. I can now walk both dogs at the same time quite easily – almost impossible on normal leads !

Works really well to control my dog who lunges at traffic. She’s happy to wear it and is more comfortable than some bulkier harnesses we’ve tried. 4 stars rather than 5 as the small size wears quickly and I’m about to purchase my third in 6 months.

  22. TracieI54f says:

Very good but had to adjust to the smallest settings for my springer spaniel, this meant the excess webbing at the bottom was to long, almost on the floor. Reluctant to cut it off as the dog is only nine moths old so may need to adjust in the future. Believe the small would have been too small.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis harness doesn’t look much compared to some comparable products but YES IT WORKS. Easy to clip onto the dog as no ‘step through’ required. Adjust it to your dogs girth. You will also need to attach it to a collar. You will need a lead that can clip at both ends. I have the halti lead which I very comfortable to use. My shoulder joints are now happy with very little pulling and easy control of a 30kg puppy!

Followed the measuring instructions but this Halti doesn’t fit my dog. She’s a Sprocker and quite short in the leg and the chest band just bangs against her knees! However, even with the poor fit, it really does work so would definitely recommend for dogs that are more firmly in the middle of a weight bracket rather than on the cusp of two like mine.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI love this harness. I use it for my st Bernard who is 80kg and loves to charge at cats. Without it i cant hold him back at all. Don’t get me wrong, he still can pull me if he wants to but I can hold him back more with this on. It gives me control without having to use a head harness or other methods. If you have a puller definitely get training but this will help you so your not been dragged down the street.

    Great for pulling dogs

The Halti harness has completely transformed our dog walks. Our boxer puppy was constantly pulling on the lead and even with puppy training sessions, we were still struggling to get it under control. The halti harness changed that from day 1… it sits across the chest, doesn’t restrict movement and causes no discomfort. Now we have no more pulling!

    Fantastic product, highly recommended!

I would deffo recommend this harness and lead it doesn’t hurt my hand any more and I won’t be dreading walking him from now on! Like I said only my first time of using but wow I’m impressed!

This is a great walking device and has really helped me to train my lively spaniel not to pull me like a pack of huskies. One star lost because the small size is too small and the medium size a little looser than I would like, but it is still very effective and won’t come off as it is clipped to the dogs collar. I use it with the halti lead so I can clip it to the chest and back of my dog.

  29. RolandoMcneely says:

The harnesses work well but unfortunately the clip to attach the harness to the dog collar often does to work. Either it will not open wide enough to attach to the D ring or the spring fails and the clip does not close properly..

Used this along with the Halti lead. What a change this made to our puppy training. It was an instant change. We walked our 4 month old lab using a standard lead connected to her collar. All she did is pull to the point we didn’t want to walk her. Now, using this system, and an instant result, she walks without pulling at all. Seriously, you have to try this for yourself if you are doubting anything I’m saying. You will be flabbergasted. I was.. Thank you.. Lots more walking with my pal for me.

I never write reviews but after today’s walk with our ‘always pulling’ 11 months old Cavapoo I decided to write one. Today for the first time ever I’ve actually enjoyed walking our fur baby. I purchased HALTI harness, lead and collar and let me tell you it really works, I just couldn’t believe in the difference in our dog behavior- always pulling, walking from one side of the pavement to another but not today! Today he walked like a very well behaved dog and I wasn’t embarrassed but proud.
    So Thank you Halti

I can’t say that the harness has completely cure the pulling from our cavalier King Charles spaniel but it has certainly helped. Do find that it doesn’t work evenly from both sides when walking but am getting used to that. I bought the small size which is still a bit big as she is a petite Cavalier. I think they would work better on a larger dog but will continue to use it.

This worked great! For our Weimaraner cross who was an avid pulling machine on a walk, this is the only harness we have found that calms her and encourages her to relax and go slow.
We also got one for our smaller three legged spaniel which doesn’t work as well but this is more down to her need to be moving fast with her disability rather than the use of the product. Great for an able bodied dog though! Would buy again!

I had the small one in this for my springer so when that got too tight I bought the medium. The front fastening harness is the best at minimizing pulling.
The drawback is the sizing the medium is so much bigger than the small so its now too big for her, if I had been able to adjust more it would be perfect.

Bought this with the Halti collar and training lead for my 77 year old mother-in-law and her boisterous dog! Brilliant! Quite easy to put on, must make sure you attach the collar to the harness, but once you get it right, no problem! My mother-in-law is quite frail but had no problem taking her pooch out in the very bad snow and ice we had in March!

Arrived promptly. I have tried many types of alleged “no-pull” dog harness but this is the best I have tried. My Boxer dog seems to respond better to having the lead attached to his front. Ordinary harnesses with the attachment on the back seem to encourage my dog to pull as the harness gives him something to throw his weight into when attached to the back. Very pleased with this. He can still pull me if he wants to but his pulling is reduced with this harness.

This for me is a worthy 5 out of 5 stars. The harness arrived next day after ordering and is well designed with a good standard of finish. Easy to fit and instructions very useful for getting the adjustments correct.

My dog is a 20 month old Golden Retriever weighing about 32kg. She has always had an issue of pulling whenever she sees anything of interest, cat, birds, carrier bags etc and is very strong. Any walk with her has been a challenge. After fitting this harness taking her for a walk is now a pleasure! I can honestly say this is a brilliant product which has done exactly as it’s claimed.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have a 3 month old puppy that pulls like a tank and on a few occasions has tore the lead out of my hand. I wanted to stop him pulling when he’s young so I bought this harness and it’s living up to it’s expectations! I bought the lead to go with it, and even if he tries to pull, a slight tug of the lead and he stops. But he’s pretty much stopped pulling and I couldn’t be any happier 🙂

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWorks very well, has been useful to lead train my pup. Problem is that the design allows her to get her lower jaw under the chest pieces and give it a good chomp. We’re on our second, lucky they are not expensive! Also use one on my excitable adult dog, it’s just so much easier than her pulling on her collar and making herself choke, when the lead is on the front ring she doesn’t even try to pull. They get the idea of lead-walking quickly and without fear or fuss.

I have had this Halti Harness for just on 2yrs, what I am not satisfied with it is that the catch that goes to his collar no longer keeps shut owing to the fact it no longer holds in place.
I know goods do not last for ever but for the price this should no of gone so quick.

Great lead – it can be easily adjusted to different lengths. It’s soft and strong and very easy to wash – I just throw ours in the washing machine in a lingerie bag so they don’t get tangled all through the washing, they dry quickly. Easy to clip the poo bag holder or dicky bag on to the lead too.

Did prevent my lab x from pulling, although slightly too big for him, no longer really use though as he walks better on the lead anyway now. Unsure whether a medium would fit him, but if buying for a stockier lab you may wish to consider a medium.

Well made. Did stop my beagle from pulling like magic. Feel more confident walking now as I have more control. Did not think it would work so pleasently surprised. We love this harness. Even for a big golden retriever, it works very well and is sturdier than it looks. It’s the second one I’ve bought after we wore the first one out – it lasted very well for the way it was treated 🙂 The only thing I would change about it is the little clip that connects to the collar. I wish it was just a little bit stronger. But for the price, I can’t complain! Great value for money.

Useful to prevent pulling. I only wish it had a chew proof front strap. The small clip at the front also tends to stick with grit or sand. A larger clip would solve this after they are for large dogs.

Was a good harness when my lab was young, but didn’t stop him from pulling/tugging and most certainly didn’t gv me extra control to calm him, it just saved him from strangling/choking himself. But still persevered and was very sturdy and lasted 6mths of use

his is the third one I have had – so they don’t last forever. I essentially prefer using these rather than just a collar around pooch as much safer for them and he does walk better on it if I connect the lead to both front and back. My lab has always pulled on the lead. I could start my own shop with the amount of harnesses we have bought that ‘supposedly’ stop/help with pulling as well as putting so many hours in working with her. We went for a walk for the first time with this harness and she tried to pull for first 5 minutes (note she couldn’t actually put her full body weight into it as the clip is on the front not the back!) and since then she has trotted next to me in a loose leash!!!!!!! I am gutted I didn’t buy this first 2 years ago!!!! Don’t hesitate just buy!!

I walk a friends dog and she purchased one for her beagle. At first I thought this would not be man enough as the straps are narrow, however I am amazed in the difference it made to walking the dog on the lead ! It seems to steer the dog and gives you more control from the front. Therefore I purchased this for my parsons JR and have used twice so far and been really good for him, took me a few attempts to get the adjustment right on the straps but sorted now ! Makes walking on the lead much more pleasurable and hopefully will break the pulling habit as training is easier .

Used this on our 1 year old viszla who seems to like the idea of taking his owners for a ‘drag’. It did seem to pull him up a little, though not a lot and I think that in order to make it more effective I’ll need to purchase the nose attachment. As a stand alone harness, it’s actually terrific value – easy to put on and take off and doesn’t seem to cause chaffing or obstruction.

  57. Lee Koo says:

Well the idea seems good and there is a slight improvement with pulling when you use a double ended lead as you can ease the pulling and it certainly prevents any choking that you would get with a collar or harness, but does it work for a King Charles cavalier, the simple answer is no.

This harness is magic! From the minute it goes on, my six month old border terrier walks to heel. Used in conjunction with the Halti lead and fixed with one end of the lead under the head and the other on the back, the lead needs requires no pulling. It now hangs loose and she trots along beside me where she used to stain to be ahead. Initially she tried to get it off but once out of the house she forgot it was on. I don’t know why everyone hasn’t got one for their dog.

My GSD really hated wearing the head harness so this is an excellent alternative – both of us are delighted! She doesn’t even notice she is wearing it. my GSD is not a constant puller anyway but she does like to chase things, this will certainly help with her training I feel. Not a replacement for a proper training class but it does make life a lot easier whilst teaching your furry friend!

Absolutely fantastic dog harness and I couldn’t be without it now. I have a german shepherd and she Is quite a handful at times, so I needed something that would be able to control her when he started lunging out on walks. This harness has a double clip so you can clip the harness to his dog collar for extra security. The great thing with this harness is that you can either clip his lead to the hook on the back, or the hook on the front, or if your like me and you the halti lead, you can clip him on the front and back so you have complete control over his movements if you need to. I wouldn’t be without the harness

We tried a head harness and he wouldn’t walk in it. This product has transformed our walks. I bought two harnesses for my dogs to replace ones that I had bought previously. The previous harnesses were another brand, the fabric twisted and rubbed my dogs under the armpits. The Halti harnesses are far superior. They are cheaper, but made of better quality material. The straps don’t twist. I’m not convinced any harness will completely stop a dog pulling, but front leading harnesses do seem to reduce it. You are leading them rather than being pulled. Highly recommended.

Having adopted a large 45kg crossbreed dog I was struggling to hold him when we met other dogs out on walks. He didn’t like a halti head collar but this harness has proved a great success. I can now stay on my feet and in control of the dog who is quite happy to wear the harness. Bought to make dog walking a little more controlled. I do notice a difference between using this and using a collar or alternative harness. Would have liked it to be a little more padded. There is small padding on the sides, there is no padding on the adjustable area that goes around the chest.

I need to have the harness around the body of the dog quite small. This leaves a long end piece hanging, which I may cut off as it comes untucked and trails along the ground during walks. The clip to open and close then sits on the chest area behind the front legs, which it makes it slightly harder to clip and unclip.

The item is sometimes put on inside out and then taken off to correct.

The clip to clip it to the collar, gives some reassurance that if the harness should fail, the dog would not be immediately loose. The product is fairly thin and does not look strong but seems to be holding up well and I find worth using, with the improvement in walking. More fiddly to use than a collar alone but walking is more controlled and is usually worth the few extra minutes to fit and remove the harness.

If I find a similar product for my small dog that opens and closes on the dogs back and with more padding I will consider changing, until then this does the job.

There was a massive difference after using this in my labrador puppy’s walking. It works really well with the halti lead. The sizing is on the large size, my puppy is the size of a small springer spaniel (15kg) and the medium harness is quite loose at the smallest it will go. I put the harness on my two year labrador x staffy who has a large chest (32kg) and it fits perfectly without going to its maximum size. Overall this product does everything that it says it should do.

My Cavalier isn’t very big or heavy but his constant pulling was starting to hurt my shoulder. I tried to train him, but it just wasn’t happening.. (maybe I’m a rubbish dog mum haha) I don’t really like the read/would prefer it in all black, but apart from that I really like the Halti, it magically takes all the strength our of the pull and it makes walks in the city a lot easier for me. I don’t always use it, but now that it’s spring and everything smells delicious his pulling is particularly bad, so back to the Halti we went. 🙂 Definitely recommend.

I bought these for my 2 bichon frise in a small size and they fit well with plenty of room for adjustment. Took me a little while to figure out how to attach properly but once they were on were quite simple to use. I like how they reduce the amount of pulling even though it’s not eliminated completely, without causing any discomfort to the dog and reducing discomfort from me being pulled along! My walks are a lot more comfortable now and wish had tried using them a lot sooner.

Just bought this for my 6 month old Bernese mountain dog who is 30kg & growing. Walking him was a nightmare as he was so strong & pulled your arm off with the lead. I’ve just come back from his first walk and the difference was unbelievable! He tried to pull a bit but realised it was more comfortable to heel by my side as the harness pulled him back by his chest not his neck! Can’t believe the difference it made on one 30 min walk!!!! I think it will also allow my children to walk him now instead. Size wise: I bought size M & L as wasn’t sure which was best. The medium size has narrower straps & was perfect. Will move to the L size when he’s fully grown. The clip hole was too small to fit my lead clip but there is a big disc that you can clip your lead into instead which was great. Totally recommend!!

Fantastic – I now take my dogs for a walk rather than they take me. I have 2 working beagles around 20kg each and they used to really pull, I can’t explain why this works but it really does, they still walk in front if I have them together but on their own by my side. Having tried a few leads these are the only ones I would recommend. We bought a double leather lead for each but you don’t need to.
Only negative is that I should have bought small as I have had to tighten them as much as possible.

This harness made a huge difference to a very strong pulling dog, she still pulls but a good 70% improvement, I just wish there was a better fitting size as the medium is slightly big and small would be too small. I’m convinced I’d have more improvement with a better fitting harness! Unfortunately I’ll be shopping elsewhere for a better fitting harness.

I couldn’t walk my border collie due to him pulling so hard this was a instant cure he now walks gently it’s easy to put on & off and I can’t rate this highly enough it really has changed our lives I’m out with him twice a day now in total control – I use the double ended halti lead with it so I feel safe with him it really is exceptional value for money & I wished I had brought one years ago Thankyou

We needed to replace an existing Halti Harness as our puppy was on the point of growing out of it and then the clasp wedged tight and couldn’t be undone so I had to cut the strap to release my dog. Because the harness works so well I decided to stick with the brand and purchased the medium. Much sturdier construction and padded in part. A bit of excess strap but this can easily be cut and sealed when we are sure she has finished growing. Overall would recommend but make sure you line the clasp up properly when you put it on your dog.

Excellent harness, makes walking my mad springer much easier. Fastening clip can be a bit fiddly as its under the armpit. Also the sliding ring on the chest doesn’t really move as freely as it should. This could be operator error but a good harness none the less.

I don’t know how or why this harness works – but it does. It has stopped my border collie from nearly pulling my arm off when we walk and has made trips outside far more enjoyable.
It took about ten minutes to work out how it goes on and how to adjust it, but after that – you’re off.
They recommend you buy the two ended lead to walk with the dog – I did and that is good from walking ‘to heel’. However, it also works with just an extendable lead attached to the front loop which gives her more freedom and exercise.
    A great product.

I have a small collie and this was only just small enough. I ended up cutting some of the adjustment straps to remove excess. It works better than a conventional lead but is not a complete cure. She can still pull if she wants but is less successful and the harness attaches in a way that is less harmful to her. It is easy to put on and remove once you get the hang of how it attaches. Seems well made and should last. She doesn’t object to having it fitted.

Excellent harness, but again like all other harnesses did not stop my border collie pulling. I would advice that you don’t use this on longer coated dogs as fur gets caught in front leader. But I have seen these work so I give it a thumbs up but just not for me.

The halti harness is a great buy, I bought a medium for my english bull terrier although she is small for her breed so a small would of fit her. It does stop alot of the pulling, its not a miracle cure as she still tries to drag me away when she sees another dog but shes quite a reactive dog, gets very excited as she wants to go play. With this harness as you can clip the lead to the front it is alot easier to control her and distract her.
I would recommend this product it makes walks alot easier, I also bought the halti head collar and this makes my dog alot more obedient when walking as she cant pull away from me and you can make her look at you and engage instead of ignoring me like she usually does.

I have an 8 month old 6 stone German Shepard , who loves to tell me where he’s going and at what speed. The very first time WE used it , it worked . I just wished that I had one with some of my previous ‘Sheps.. Now I have to get used to it. One thing I would say , is the Large size , says Belly width 80cm +. My dog is 84cm’s but the large one is Far too big , even at maximum reduction . This was not a problem for Amazon to change. They arranged collection and delivery of a medium size with no hassle. EXCELLENT. Would recommend buying this product if your dog has a will of his own!

Very comfortable and easy to wear. Help in controlling a dog which pulls is good. Unfortunately the material from which the harness is made is not very robust, and the spring in the clasp which attaches to the dog’s collar loses its spring very quickly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI got this as I read some reviews saying it helps control your dogs pulling and I couldn’t agree more. I use this everytime I take my dog for a walk. It doesn’t train your dog to stop pulling but you have more control over the dogs movement. Make sure you attach the harness to your dogs collar for maximum control of your dogs chest/head. Having control of the head at ssme time as the chest puts a stop to a pulling dog, also if they do try to pull they’re not going to choke themselves on this. Would recommend

Is taking a little bit of getting used to by dogs due to their strength still pulling a bit at present but much less than before, can be used with one lead at front or lead with 2 connectors clipped on front and back

My pug cross dog was terrible for pulling on the lead so thought I’d give this a try. He wore it twice and seemed better with it but then my French bulldog pup found it and chewed the fasteners off, so I bought another one. He wore the second one twice before the dreaded pup found it and chewed it up again! I have given up trying for now. I think he would have walked better with the halti given time, but I think I’ll wait until the pup has finished destroying my house til I try again.

Having tried almost every product available for my Dalmation, who pulls like a freight train, I have found this to be effective. As my dog is deaf it is hard to communicate with her when she is pulling so much. This had now made using her flexi lead on beaches/fields a little easier. Still have to use halti on roads but I now have more options for different types of walks.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI take on oldie rescue Boxers, who are usually still strong, often not great on the lead and not socialised. I don’t agree with chokers or anything that might harm their throat. I’ve used this harness for the past five years and on three lovely oldies, including my current beautiful, 9 year old, 35 Kilo! girl. If used properly (with two leads, front ‘D’ ring and top ), it give great control, comfort for the dog and they walk to heal calmly and enjoy their walks. The key here is to follow the Halti instructions and keep at it, using lots of encouragement on the way.

This is a good product but the sizing is still a bit off (as previous reviews have said) – the small is still a bit big in some places on my Cairn. This is a shame because the principle of the harness is excellent and with a clip at the front, helps to prevent him pulling. (Does not stop it, but it is not such an issue). We use it with the Halti Training Lead which has numerous hoops and two clips.

Our 2 year old rescue home staffie thought she was the boss when we went walking – especially when with the children – and this harness has made a huge difference.

Although she is still immensely strong and somewhat protective and playful when the children are around, when it is just the two of us she now walks a thousand times better!

It’s just small enough for her (she’s 18kg of chunk!) but I would imagine she’s on the cusp of the 2 sizes, however it fits well and is easy to get on and off. Her lead clips easily on the ring at the back and unclips equally as easy for those off the lead moments!

A great harness that is wearing well and was very reasonably priced

Bought this for my 8 month old ESS. I had previously been using a check chain as recommended by my dog training class, this had improved her pulling most of the time however not for the first walk of the day.

Put the halti on today for her first walk, and what an amazing difference. Instead of a strong tug with the chain, all the halti requires is a very gentle pull and “heel” and it keeps her at my side. Such a huge difference that I can actually control her with one hand.

I cannot recommend the halti highly enough.

What a clever harness!! I was very surprised when this actually worked especially after some of the negative comments. My husky/malamute was getting too big and very strong and pulling harder every day I couldn’t carry on the way things were and my hand was killing after every walk! As soon as I put this on him it was like a totally different dog! Wow, he cant physically pull at all its almost impossible, and you have full control of the dog I find I can steer him left and right, its fab!!!

I have 2 cocker spaniels and could not walk them together they pulled so much. I tried a head halti but the dogs hated it.the harness stops my younger dog from galloping and the older one(4yrs) from pulling. they are quite big for size both being a bit loose but it is attached to the collar so they can’t slip through

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt does not act quite as effectively as the head collar, but is a lot more acceptable to our dogs, they are easy to fit and certainly
improve control. It is early days yet and as the dogs (and us) get used to them I may be wishing I had given them 5 stars !!

This is the only product that stops my spaniel from pulling. It is a great product but orginally i bought the medium size which fits my spaniel but a bit loose so i thought i’d try the small- but this is tiny on him so back to the medium i think. Orginally i had not bought the training lead that goes with the harness but this time i did and now wished i’d bought it years ago – well worth getting the halti training lead which goes with this harness. I highly recommend this harness, its pulls across a dogs chest so stops them straight away from pulling- i have tried all other harness’s and this really is the only one that works, it gives you so much more control. Just be careful with the sizing.

Bought one of these on the advice of my puppy club trainer for my 9 month old GSD puppy, in medium size with twin lead.
He didn’t like it and chewed the first one to pieces.
So i bought another one and he is now used to it. It really helps stop him pulling on the lead. He also waits patiently while I fit it as it is a bit fiddly, but he has figured out that he should stand perfectly still while I fit the clips etc.
He now walks gently and in step. However if I revert back to a slip lead he starts pulling again, so full marks to Halti Harness.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have tried a few harnesses in the past for my Border Collie Dylan and usually they work for a week then he has them sussed and I have a 6ft long arm again! I have had this one almost 4 weeks now and its working well. I only use it with a lead on the chest notch (which in turn is connected to the collar) this works really well and Dylan and I have had much longer walks and I have enjoyed them more! Dylan is not the largest Border Collie I have had and this (medium)harness is on its smallest settings and is still a little bit big for him, so maybe I could have gotten away with a ‘small’, but it still works well. I am very pleased I bought it and am more than happy to recommend it!

Having tried the nose halti with some success (and found that Bonnie wasn’t as keen as I was on it!) we were recommended to buy this one and got it just in time for the bad weather. It has been a life-saver. We’ve found it works with only 1 lead (unlike the nose halti) which saves juggling leads when you have 2 dogs to hold! The additional training leaflet was, however, disappointing. We got the medium size which was loads big enough for a alsation x greyhound – but it is adjustable.
Delivery time was also good, in the middle of the chaos caused by Christmas and bad weather. So all in all, very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe Halti harness is an excellent product. My Dobermann walks better and can be controlled more easily when she has her Halti harness on. The only niggle I have with it is that it tends to look untidy (ie. rides up to her shoulder) when she has worn it for a length of time during a walk. However it makes for a more enjoyable walk as she does not yank at my arm as she does with normal type leads.
