I bought this for my 93 yo mother to replace her 23 year old microwave that finally gave up the ghost. She’s happy so I’m happy and it will probably outlast her.
I’m getting used to using the oven but found it a bit primitive to begin with. I didn’t realise when I purchased it there was no clock I like a clock on the microwave. But as I say I have got used to it now and it works well does what I want it for so yes happy with it. Delivery was prompt and delivery man carried it into the kitchen so that was a bonus.
It looks very nice from the outside, o do not like the black colour in the inside, it makes cleaning more difficult as stains are hidden.
I cannot understand why the microwave inside measures are not available even the manufacturer website.
I have taken pictures to sort our this issue.
I bought this to replace my Kenwood which had rusted quite badly. The main thing I liked about the Kenwood was the quick start feature, where you can press, say, the number 2 on the pad and it will immediately start cooking on full power for 2 mins. Most other microwaves I looked at didn’t have this very handy feature – you tend to have to press several buttons, turn a dial first, or maybe set the power level each time, or it’s only for 30 secs. So this requirement pretty much narrowed it down to a few Hisense products. (I think Kenwood still do one but it’s too small). I also like the memory function which remembers two settings if you regularly microwave something for a time that isn’t a whole number, and it’s big enough for a large plate or a packet of rice.
There are some minus points
– The build quality seems a bit poor, as it rattles when opening/closing the door
– The grill is not very good
– It gets quite wet on the insides due to steam. Not sure if this is just something I’m more observant of since my last one probably rusted due to not wiping away the steam, so I keep a cloth nearby to wipe the insides. Depends what you’re cooking, it’s not every time.
However given the quick start feature I mentioned, I would still buy this again.
My wife ordered this on my account. She is very pleased with microwave/grill. Looks very smart and not complicated to use. Came very well packaged, so no damage. Digital with a 12hr clock, so easy to use. Love this make & model-900W(recommend this company, have bought a number of appliances from them) is bigger & better than previous one (different make.) Never had a combi microwave and grill before, wife loves it. Is very good quality and quite heavy, but quite quiet with a loudish ping when finished cooking. You get a grill stand with it, she has used grill to make cheese on toast, cooked very well (made toast in toaster 1st,then put all on grill stand into microwave, set grill on) need to time it for 3-5min to how you like melted cheese. Also use to bake potatoes and heat dinner plates. Wife said she will be doing more in this one. Would recommend.
A good sized solo 900watts microwave that looks expensive. Plus It doesn’t take up a lot of worktop space. It isn’t noisy. It has more air vents than our previous one, so just needs a wipe inside after cooking. The control panel is easy to navigate. The inner light is bright enough. As other reviews have mentioned it did slip on pulling the door open, a small layer of silicone under the feet resolved this issue. Jacket potatoes cooked well. Would recommend.
The first one I ordered, the turntable did not work. Replaced within 3 days, great. Got the return label for the defective one but after a month it still has not been collected by Evri, despite several communications with them. The microwave was easy to set up, just remember it is a 12 hour clock not a 24 hour one. After 6 weeks it is going well and works beautifully.
This microwave is the same make as my TV which I’ve had for the past six years and no problems this microwave does everything two of the many things it does it is an oven and grill it works absolutely fine to to purchase the equivalent in another make it would cost double what I paid for this one so if you want one with all the Bells and whistles on it by this type. 100% recommended
I like a microwave with a grill but never used the convection function of my old combo, which was a monster and took up too much space. This is a neat little thing with the smallest footprint I could find in terms of depth. It’s only 700W so everything takes a bit longer, but it works perfectly well. The grill is fine. Defrost is reasonably accurate, but you have to keep an eye on it. All very easy to understand. I haven’t tried any of the auto settings, but the instructions for them are simple. It’s not as noisy as my old one, but I wouldn’t say it’s all that quiet. Mine sits in a dark corner and the mirror silver adds a bit of light but the digital pad, being white on silver, is hard to see.
I’m very pleased with this product I don’t use it much but it suits my requirements. It’s no problem to use just pop my food in and off it goes. So easy. No problems
I ordered this on Prime Day to replace my broken one and thought being Prime I would get it within a few days at most, unfortunately it was a week later that it was delivered. Whilst checking for delivery updates I could see that the stock levels had gone down and that if I cancelled the order and re-ordered it I would get it sooner and was so worried that I wouldn’t get mine however I was assured by Amazon customer service that the item had been reserved for me and would be delivered on the day I was given, I was given the option to cancel the order and re-order BUT the price had gone up so there was no sense in doing that. I was convinced it wouldn’t arrive on the scheduled delivery day but I’m happy to say it did.
Now to the microwave itself – it looks good, it is tall enough inside that microwave rice packets stand up properly without falling over. It is easy to use however the touch buttons are not very responsive, I have got used to them but my daughter has trouble using them. It is easy to clean.
All in all I am happy with the microwave
Very pleased with this. Looks very smart, is easy to clean and the different settings are very intuitive. The larger size is great as my veg steamer fits really well.
I thought good deal for price, considering grill in microwave.
Disappointed picture of microwave suggests unit is silver! What a shock when opening box! However, it’s very black. Mirrored door has slight silver colour.
Unit looks quite high tech, again good value considering cost, but overall black!
Seems easy to use.
The only problem with this microwave is the condensation buildup inside. The ventilation is not the best. I have to clean under the turn table every time I put something in that has liquid in it, not from spills, just condensation.
I have very specific requirements for a microwave, and on paper this met them all. It’s a good size, and I can set the time down to the one-second level. (I hate knobs and dials on a microwave.) Unfortunately, it has two problems. (1) Its feet are slippery, which means I had to hold it still to open/close the door, and even to push the buttons on the control panel. So I bought a non-slip mat to go under it, which works well but effectively added 12 to the cost. (2) The controls require more pressure than a touch screen should, and the Start button is especially fiddly. (3) The numbers on the number pad could be larger and more visually prominent. But all in all, I think it’s good value for money.
I heats very fast. The grill function is not at all clear, but it works.
You can not cook pizza in it – at least we haven’t managed that trick yet, just pressing the pizza button is not all there is to it.
One mug of a drink is heated well at drink level 1, level 2 may boil it if it’s already a bit warm.
The first appliance we got rattled badly, the replacement is quite quiet running.
Good purchase. Poor instructions.
Very happy with my new microwave, really easy to use, nice size, makes my old one look like it’s for a dolls house haha, light not very bright but doesn’t bother me, it comes with plastic over the button’s that you have to peel off, I had to ask about this as I wasn’t sure but 2 lovely people answered my question and said yes, peel it off lol, I thought it was poorly made at first but I was very glad that’s all it was, so overall I’m very happy, glad I purchased i
The lines we’re nice and good looking machine but only let down was the size interior, not for a large family 1st home/wedding prezzie
A Simple attractive and uncomplicated Microwave .
You can quick start it as each button represents a time if you are in a hurry
ie 1 = 1 min etc
Start button is 30secs .
So 2 :30 mins can be activated by pressing 2 (mins )and then immediately start (30secs) and so on .
Reheat your coffee in 30 secs by just pressing start.
It has the usual controls you would hope for .
It is a little light so it moved as I was heavy handed when I first pressed it . But I easily adapted to it and It has been easy to clea
We bought this for my daughters birthday as her other one was much too small, she is delighted with it. Thank you
Very good value for the size and quality but my only issues is the “feet” very slippery on the worktop and moves around when opening the door. Also the start and stop buttons aren’t very responsive
Had to replace old Microwave (Swan) as the internal coating was peeling, I must have had it 8 years, I have a Hisense American type Fridge Freezer which I purchased 2 years ago and I’m very pleased with the quality of it, so thought why not buy their products again, I’m so pleased I did, its of good quality, light weight and much quieter than my old microwave, “The popcorn programme is great” also the defrost is really good too, I tend to use the weight of what I’m defrosting this is really accurate, much better than my old one and defrosts in less time, eh “Energy saving” its so easy to use once you’ve got your head around the different programmes. Yes, I would recommend
Bought a new microwave as my last one of 15 years started to rust in the joints. After looking around and comparing many microwaves, I chose the Hisence H23 as it had everything I needed in a microwave at a reasonable price. It is digital, so you can cook from as little as 1 second to a couple of hours if required. Easy to navigate control panel assisted by preprogrammed cooking times. Very quiet in use and can see clearly what is cooking so you can stop it quickly if something is boiling over. Very pleased with it so far but like everything these days, time will tell. At this moment I would not hesitate to recommend this microwave.
The microwave is fine…buttons a bit hard to use. When you press them the oven gets pushed backwards.
Delivery was dreadful it took 2 attempts…first was a pre opened and then another 2 weeks before it arrived
This is a great quality microwave, which comes with an instruction manual for use and a uk plug.
The microwave has a reasonable sized screen, which displays a clock if set and clearly displays your settings when using the microwave to cook.
There are some integrated settings for automatic use, as well as buttons to control defrost and cooking time according to weight.
The microwave is a plain black colour, which can fit with a range of decor.
Really happy with this microwave, all the settings work well and it heats or defrosts how you like it. Also easy to clean and use. Have had this for months now and came across no issues at all. I also like how it looks in the kitchen. Highly recommend.
Great value for money. It is a really good size microwave. I love all the buttons on the side which is something I struggled to find on other microwaves and is the main reason I bought this one. The buttons are sensitive which is great. I have given it 4 stars because it’s only 800w and only comes in black, would have preferred white to match my kitchen decor bette
Bought this to replace another new one which lasted a week before conking out! This one is easy to use and heats food quickly. Looks great on counter. Only downside is it is light and moves easily hence 4 stars instead of 5. Have ordered non slip mat for underneath.
It’s a lot bigger inside, quite deceptive. It’s very easy to operate although I don’t think I’ll ever use all the programmes. My only gripe would be the lack of stability, open the door and the microwave comes towards you. Knowing this I put my hand on the front to prevent this from happening. I expect there is a way of stabilising it but I’ve not given it full marks for this reason alone. However I would recommend it to anyone who likes simplicity
The delivery by dpd was great. Arrived to the minute. The microwave looks great and is easy to clean. Getting used to controls. So far it’s going well.
Have it 2 days after payment, nice look and easy to use with handle, heat power can be changed during warning the food, it is better than my old one Panasonic.
This is a Top Quality Microwave! It was not on the cheap side but definitely worth the price! Looks Amazing too
Well I must admit i’m very impressed with this freestanding 800w microwave from Hisense. It’s’s black, it’s modern, it runs at energy class B and it is very easy to use.
This microwave is very simplistic in design it has a 23 L capacity and a large turntable measuring 27cm which is big enough for large dinner plates.
The size of the microwave itself is 48.5 cm in width by 41 cm in length by 29.3 cm in height.
Made from stainless steel with a glass turntable and a glass panel in the door, makes for a very handsome wave that would fit in with most decor styles especially modern.
Hisense is a well-known brand in fact our main TV of the house is a hisense, it’s been going well for a number of years so far. I expect no different from this microwave.
This microwave has a good selection of user-friendly features. I especially like the smart cook feature which is basically the numbers on the front of the machine 1 to 6 represents the number of minutes. For example number two would be 2 minutes number for 4 minutes and so on, this makes it very quick to cook anything that needs a cooking time of up to 6 minutes.
There are also 6 automatic preset programmes, these are great to use for many of the everyday stuff. These include microwave popcorn, jacket potato, pizza, standard vegetables, drinks like tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and one for simply heating up a plate of dinner. To use one of these features simply place the item you’re cooking into the microwave, press the corresponding program button on the front then enter the weight and that’s it, off it goes and so far these have all worked out pretty well.
The feature I find the most useful for me anyway, is the auto defrost programme. I’m notorious for forgetting to get meat out of the freezer which is needed for dinner that evening, so this feature I probably use quite a few times each week.
Other features include a memory function and a child lock.
Cleaning this microwave is very easy I usually place a small bowl of water with a few drops of lemon juice or a slice of lemon in it. I heat this on full power for about 5-minutes until it’s steaming hot, then I get a damp cloth and simply wipe over the whole of the inside and it cleans up really well.
This microwave is priced at 89.99 (price correct at the time of this review) which I think is a very reasonable price for such a good quality item.
Thank you for reading and I hope you have found my review helpful.
Love it ! Really good size.
Very smart looking. Easy to use.
Changed my entire kitchen and couldn’t find a classy yet reliable and easy to use microwave until this. So very happy, has many options ” my son enjoys going to the kitchen to tell the time displayed in it lol” has an easy to open handle, pre set menu to help cooking various things “which I didn’t need to honestly use” but I use it to continue cooking meat that was left a bit undone and you could swear it was done in the oven. Very happy
Nice and easy to use, no complicated programs just straight forward, the only thing that I found on this Microwave, that they could improve would be the door as it does seem very clunky and flimsy when opening, but that is probably my little gripe
I read the reviews on lots of microwaves both more expensive and some cheaper. This one came out on top for all I was looking for. As well as the practical side it looks good too.
This microwave is very easy to use just press the start button for instant 30 seconds or you can change the power level and input any amount of time. Only negative is it is a bit larger then most microwaves and quite heavy.
Wow. I was not expecting to enjoy this Microwave too much…I think I found it to be not as ‘visually pleasing’ as perhaps I would like (I do prefer stainless steel if I am honest). However, the microwave offered absolutely everything I need and more.
Not too bad on the footprint – it is freestanding so you will lose some workspace unfortunately. I found it fitted near a plug well so I was happy.
Good range of programs but to be honest, I only really use the defrost and heat functions. They are perfect for what I need.
The turntable is a little bit smaller than my old microwave, so my big dinner plates don’t fit. Its just a niggle but maybe I need smaller plates?!
Well made and finished – I’m really pleased with it.
Buy it, this is the best Microwave I have ever had, I purchased an American style fridge freezer in this make and it is brilliant, so thought, try the microwave and it is the best decision I have made fantastic.
An awkward admission – in general, we don’t use a microwave very often. Could we go without one? Yeah, that too. But having one for that odd occasion is absolutely, no doubt, handy.
So, given our use/lack of use of a microwave, we can only report that this is a perfectly decent microwave. It’s got an old school turntable, which made me feel all nostalgic. It’s got the time traditional timing options for weight, defrost or power. Defrosting is still a black art nightmare where is doesn’t defrost evenly. Nuking food for a quick zap is simple and the buttons are simple to understand. There are those options for Popcorn, Pizza, spuds, etc… but these aren’t things that we would ever do so can’t comment.
As a microwave for simple warming/cooking, it fits the bill. Don’t expect Rolls Royce door closure but all in all, a simple microwave that does what it should.
Only downside was the turntable glass was broken on delivery and trying to get it replaced is a nightmare still waiting to get it replaced
The microwave came in a well presented box, with images and prompts outlining the variety of different settings it can be used for. The box seemed rather large however.
The appliance itself is on the larger size than your standard run of the mill cheap microwave. The casing does feel quite thin and it is rather lightweight, which causes it to shift and slide as you pull the door open. To counter this, I am looking at sticking a rubber foot onto the base of it. (Something for the price you really shouldn’t need to do).
It is however, smart in design. The buttons are touch buttons that do take a little getting used to at first if you are used to a dial or standard push buttons. However the buttons are very self explanatory and guide you around without having to refer to the instructions.
It has a number of basic programmes available at the push of a button. These include beverage, pizza, vegetable and potato settings, meaning all you have to do is pop your item of these descriptions in and press start.
An unexpected surprise is that it also has a kitchen time setting. This allows you to set a timer that counts down before letting you know it has finished with an audible beep. This can be really handy is you tend to forget to check on something whilst cooking other elements. This function only utilises the timer and will not run the microwave oven alongside it.
Overall I am very pleased with this microwave however do feel that at its current price (108.99) is a little bit on the high side. Whilst it has a lovely extra function it doesn’t offer much more than models around the 75 mark. Due to the earlier issues highlighted and the only one extra programme of significance, I feel that if they were to reduce the price to this area then I would recommend it.
Looks like the photos, simple to use, easy to clean and looks good in a dark toned modern kitchen. However, the package was left outside without a slip through the letter box so didn’t know it had arrived for a few days and it rained heavily. Luckily no water damage so far noticed.
arrived before time and we are very happy with i
The microwave oven is easy to use, 23L is very large, touch screen control, many functions, fast heating speed, low sound in the process of use, the texture of the whole machine is very good, the design is also very fashionable, the body is very heavy, the price is moderate, it is recommended to use.
The microwave arrived well packaged, the glass plate is located on the top of the styrene as you open the box so be careful, I found it easiest to have someone help lift it from the box with you, it weighs approx. 12.7kg.
Checking over the microwave it looks stylish and well made, the controls are easy enough to use and the manual is very informative, the microwave measures 410mm deep (door to back) x 485mm wide as you look at it x 300mm high, the door is left hand hung and the handle is easy to use and feels comfortable, the size is 23 litres and power rating of 800 watts.
Set the clock before you begin, it only accepts numbers up to 12 hours and there’s no am/pm, the display is clear to read and there’s many functions to select to suit your needs, for quick use I press the start button 3 times for a 1 minute and 30 seconds full power blast! each press adds an additional 30 seconds.
The microwave has 6 pre installed programs for popcorn, potato, pizza, frozen vegetables, beverage and my plate for a meat side dish, just select the above then enter the weight and away it goes.
There’s 2 defrost modes and a memory function to allow you to customise a heating mode for a particular item.
You can lock the control panel by holding the stop button until it beeps and to unlock do the same again.
I would have liked to see ceramic non stick coating inside and the door can feel a little flimsy at times, the feet could have been wider and have a larger non slip surface to them to ground the unit better, these are the only picky things I can think of to be honest and they aren’t much! Overall its a solid build microwave that looks stylish and is easy to use with enough functions for general use, thank you.
This microwave is the best one by far. I’ve had a few microwaves and this one is easy to use and clean, also the functions on it are easy to follow. I’m pleased with my purchase.
Excellent microwave, it is 23L so is a good size. It 800w
has a defrost function
Multi phase cooking
Touch screen controls
Preset programmes:
Popcorn, potatoes, pizza, vegetables, beverage, my plate
Kitchen timer
Clock and power level.
I found this microwave easy to use, it comes with instructions and a 2 year warranty that you need to activate.
It looks smart. You open it and close it using the handle on the microwave door
It’s all touch screen to select settings and programmes.
I found it heats food up really quickly.
I definitely recommend this Hisense microwave
