HK GAMING GK61 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard 60 Percent | 61 RGB Rainbow LED Backlit Programmable Keys | USB Wired | For Mac and Windows PC | Hotswap Gateron Optical Yellow Switches | White
GK61 is a standard-sized 60% keyboard featuring RGB backlighting, USB-C wired connection, and optical switches . The USB-C cable is detachable for convenience of portability.
Optical switches are much more durable than conventional mechanical keyboard switches and are rated for 100 million keystrokes.
They have a high actuation point of 1.5mm for fast response. Light Strike optical switches utilize a horizontal infrared beam which is transmitted across the width of the inner keyswitch.
The infrared beam is normally blocked from reaching a sensor across from it by the stem. Once a switch is pressed, the switch stem no longer blocks the infrared beam and the beam is detected by the sensor, which activates the switch.
Due to the optical mechanism, an optical switch has an extremely fast response time of 0.2ms, which means faster reactions in those times where timing is critical, such as when gaming.

I bought the Gateron Optical Red keyboard with a black frame for the outside. The keyboard
I got is good for gaming but its pretty loud at night when playing your games. It has a good variety of the colors and modes. It also has a good reaction time. I would reamend this keyboard.
Contactless linears feel excellent on this. Looks great, feels great, sounds great, and the switches are hotswappable Gat Opticals, opening plenty of switch tuning options, like swapping to GatOp blacks. The software is horrid, but the board doesn’t need it.
Keys emit a gentle clack when you bottom out; sounds delightful. I adore the board. 10/10, it gives newbies a hotswappable board that doesn’t use Cherry’s atrocious switches.
Check the video I submitted as I show how the program works and my favourite settings. Absolutely nothing I’d change about it. High quality with a nice click, perfect colour and simply to use. I got the UK one but it also comes in DE and US.
To get the software on Windows search “www.hk-gaming.com” and the second website titled “download” from there select in the GK61 column, “S/N Starting with: GK61US” (you can change it to UK by doing what I show in the video, changing what different keys mean). Click “download (v1.1_0113)” and name it + put it in your files. Once downloaded open the file and it will bring you to Microsoft store where you press “install anyway” It will ask you for your pin, it’s completely safe don’t worry. Type in your pin and once it loads it will ask you for your preferred language. And in this order press “next, choose where the file goes, next, name the file, next, install, finish” open the program and from there I show you in the video.
Hope this helps! Byeeee

hello everyone I just want to let you know how amazing this keyboard it came so fast and beautiful and the sound is
sooo good because I am a clicky switch man and I took the blue optical switches and ohh man this is sound the best I cannot tell you how amazing this feeling and the RGB light are very shiny and I like it and I’m so exited so if anyone don’t know if to buy this or no you should have no question this keyboard is so cheap and good!
Loving the little guy after using a full size keyboard for so long the program was an odd one to figure out until I just had to click the patch . Can do other fun things like color schemes and animations . Check Reddit for more info .
Estremamente compatta.

This keyboard is a great option for anyone looking to get a mechanical keyboard, it is a great option for its price tag. It is also a 60% board which is great because it takes up less desk space while it still has the crucial arrow keys.
spacebar is the best bit. The thoccy sound does not make me regret buying this at all.

his is a great affordable hot swap keyboard for anyone trying to get into the stressful, depraved, and wonderful world of customizable mechanical keyboards. when i first got this keyboard the stock switch and keycaps sounded not so great (gateron mech blacks), but after 6 back breaking soul crushing hours i finally got all 61 switches lubed and back into the pcb with new pbt keycaps. i would also recommend modding the stabs on this board because the stock sound is super rattly. all in all though this is a great board and it shipped really fast, 10/10 would recommend.
Seems to be standing up to the point of the children, good gaming keyboard

I have been using this keyboard for over a month now I believe. And from my limited experience i can safely comment on a few things
Packaging
– Ok the packaging for this is pretty shady lol. My box was all dinged up, the sticker that is supposed to
hold it close was open and lost all it’s adhesive 🙂 But regardless, inside the keyboard was pretty safe
and hadn’t moved or been damaged at all
Build
– Sturdy build with no loose parts or rattling’
– Aluminum switch plate feels premium and gives a good feel
– Keycaps are decent, not the best but didn’t expect them to be. I would suggest upgrading to PBT
keycaps as this board is pretty much build to be customized.
– Cable is of decent quality as well, so is the keycap puller and switch puller
– This keyboard also says “pre lubed” like every other mechanical keyboard lol, but it’s very minimal and
has no effect on the sound/feel even if you wipe it off. I recommend lubing them on your own.
I would recommend Petreplus 2700 if you’re not looking to spend 5k on 10grams of krytox205g0 lol.
I have a review on the lube too, and in my experience, it’s a good lube if used correctly.
Switches
– I have the brown switches. Good, fast, smooth, and sound if very pleasing as well.
– Again, pRe lUbEd, so wipe that stuff off, and lube them yourself, that will just elevate the experience.
Cons
– The PCB and switch plate sit very deep into the case, which is good for sturdiness and security, but then
if you want to add foam to your keyboard, that would be a bit difficult. Maybe i didn’t do it right, but
thats my experience.
– The software is janky AF. HK gaming really needs to focus on this, otherwise, their brand image will
never be able to get better as their software feels like something from Windows XP. But the keyboard
isn’t very software dependant, so it isn’t much of an issue. There are keys to switch between light
modes, but if you want to keep custom lighting then you’ll need the software, which is relatively simply
to use, even though it looks very very old lol.
– This board is a 60% which might be small for a lot of people. I didn’t mind it at all, in fact I loved it. I edit videos and photos, and i didn’t face any problems, and I love the compact size. But I know most people don’t, so listing it here as a con.
All in all, I would recommend this board due to its high customizability. You can go for the Keychron V2 hot swap version if you want something bigger than a 60% as well, but this was cheaper than that for me and based on reviews pretty much giving in direct competition as a good budget mechanical keyboard
But I am happy with my decision, hope this helped you in making yours too.
So far really enjoy it. This is my second 60% keyboard and I love the form factor. I am planning on modding it, the reason for my purchase. Without mods it’s loud but still feels grea
I’ve bought this 2 times the first time was for me the second time was because my friend saw my keyboard and wanted one aswell, overall I think this keyboard is pretty good
I used to have tvs gold with long hua blue switches , switching from that this keyboard feels a lot lighter, as I have the optical yellow . This one is a little hard to get used to for typing because just resting your hands causes a lot of typos but once you get used to it its the best thing ever. because of its low actuation it would help you type faster but this is not suggested for beginners as they would need a tactile feedback. For beginners something like optical brown or black should be perfect. But you could also swap them with linear or clicky later once you feel that you don’t need them. Overall I’m very satisfied with this product , its portable and very sturdy while also being able to swap switches.

It’s just perfect for the price.
At first you’ll feel a little weird while gaming with it but as soon as you get use to the ‘travel distace’ of the keys you’ll notice a huge difference compared to other keyboards it’s a lot quicker!
The build quality is great for the price and the sound of the keyboard is pretty good right out the box, I’m pretty sure that the switches come pre-lubed. If you are trying to get into the keyboards modding experience this is definitely a good starting point for you.
Hands down this is definitely the budget apex pro.
Really good for a budget keyboard. I love clicky switches and it’s just so satisfying.

This is a great product at this price range. Typing is a little uncomfortable but thats because i am not used to typing on high raised keyboards. Wrist support can be bought for this. The rgb lights are nice and it is working great for mac. Low availability of accompanying software is why i have deducted 1 star.
All in all, the keybaord quality is nice and readers should not worry about that. My advice will be to look for softwares which help reconfigure keys before going for this. But even if you dont find that, it wont be the end of the world.

I use this for gaming every day, I adore it. I’ve bought four other 60% keyboards around the same price range and they’ve got this weird thing where all of the punctuation is quadrupled up on strange keys.. this one does NOT have that problem and I’m so thankful! I got blue switches and they sound phenomenal. The rgb on this is beautiful and the settings are super easy to change so I never forget how to do it. This is absolutely my new daily driver keyboard – I’m super happy with it.
Okay after so many rounds of apex and nhl 21 this thing has taken a beating from my fist. Literally bruised My fist and this thing isn’t broken. Very durable and I love it for that as well as it types well. I would recommend for anyone that can’t stand EA games.
Amazing budget friendly keyboard! Super happy that it comes hotswapable with Gateron Black switches, my favourite switch! I have yet to lube and mod it due to work but stock it sounds pretty good! Other then the stock stabs were are horrible buy pretty much all stock stabs are! 5/5 stars and would recommend for anyone trying to get into the modding hobby!
EDIT:
I finally got around to modding this keyboard and man oh man… I love it, so happy with the quality I was able to get out of this budget board! It sounds better than a lot of $300+ keyboards I’ve heard. 5/5 would recommend, although the stabilizers 100% need the hole mod to sounds good!
Picked up the gateron optical silvers switches. Ive always used blue swtiches for gaming and work but frequently felt they were heavy for gaming so decided to get a new tkl keyboard with red switches just for gaming but I came across gk60 instead and loved the aspect of 60% because it saves me so much space.
I opted for the silvers because they are really smooth and have a very fast actuation response. They are known to be one of the fastest switches after yellows. I’ve tested yellows from a friend and personally didn’t feel like it was the right fit for me. I took a gamble by picking the silver switches and they are perfect. Much softer than reds and slightly heavier than yellows. It the perfect sweet spot.
For gaming they are the beast but for typing we’ll need practice with it because there is a possibility of actuating another key hence leading to mistakes but that’s because they have a really quick key response time and that’s why they are the best for gaming. If you’re looking to write documents or programming and a casual gamer who doesn’t play much fps games. Then I would recommend you pick Brown’s. I myself use blue swtiches for work and silvers just for gaming. ( You can see my desk setup pic)
Now the sound, silver switches are linear so they don’t have the clicky sound that blue swtiches make and tbh I prefer it that way. Ppl you play with hate hearing clicky keyboard coz they miss out on enemy foot steps plus it is very distracting while gaming. Hence I use the blues just for work like typing mails, documents etc. Ive attached a video for sound comparison.
I definitely recommend this keyboard to fps gamers (serious and casual) its worth it !!!

The keyboard:
Small, yet functional keyboard. Comes with a long (5ft i guess?) Usb-c cable which I was quick to trade with my phone’s short charger (life hacks). Per key RGB is plenty good, didn’t bother using the software (didn’t recognize my keyboard) for custom key mapping. Everyone reviewing mentions that the ABS key caps are frosted (or matt) finish on top and glossy on the sides, but the one I received has all matt finish key caps. I honestly like matt over glossy as glossy gets easily scratched. Also, there is no microphone under the space bar for music synced RGB (some early reviews mentioned they have it), I can’t be bothered as I don’t use computer speakers anyway.
My experience:
Despite being all plastic, GK61 has some heft to it. This is my first experience, albeit first in a very long time, with a mechanical keyboard, so I haven’t yet gotten accustomed to the nuances of a mech keyboard. Not able to match the typing speed on my Blade 15’s keyboard yet, all in time until I develop finger memory. Haven’t had issues while gaming (CS:GO mostly), but encountering a lot of errors while typing mostly due to low actuation distance of Gat Silvers and no tactile (pfft, i know right?) feedback on key presses. So, further pressing down the key caps obviously doesn’t do anything, but feels quite odd if not pressing keys all the way (idk probably just me as I’m not used to it yet).
Minor con:
One minor quality issue I have with my keyboard is that the bigger key caps (shift, enter, space bar etc) wobble when you nudge them longitudinally (tangentially to the plane of the keyboard) at key cap ends. My guess is due to cheap quality stabilisers. I’ll probably look into upgrading them later on.
Future prospects:
That’s something would great to experiment on this cheap (in comparison) keyboard, modding the insides. My first mod will probably be adding a regular foam inside for a some thoccy-ness (everyone loves thoccy keyboards right?). Followed by stabilisers and then lubrication, perhaps.
Tl;dr:
– Good enough for a modding journey.
– Choose your switches wisely.
– Less options for optical switches.
Note:
Attached photo of my humble desk setup lol! High five Poverty!
Nice bright colors, lots of cool pre-configuration color modes/patterns, sturdy and has weight to it, grips the mouse pad pretty well*my mouse pad*the click sound is bussin , and haven’t had any problems with it gaming wise. Overall it’s great for the price.
*LOUD (metal asl)
*No I mean seriously LOUD
*Typing is super satisfying but it’s LOUD
*Mechanical keyboard is awesome (LOUD)
*Price:Value is spot on but it’s LOUD
*I got a lot more than I was expecting at this price (but be careful it’s LOUD)
*Gaming experience with this thing is awesome 10/10 great produc
This is not a GK61 from “Meckeys”. This is HK gaming gk61 and trust me this is for Rs5,499 which is not worth the money you pay and its an optical mechanical keyboard not an Mechanical ones. IMPORTANT!! This keyboard doesn’t provide stoppers or grip in bottom, they have just given empty slots in grip section. Also this one has different lightning modes than what u get in GK61 from meckeys which is for 5,200 rs. I got it with silver switches and tbh switches are amazing no doubt.

This is a bang for you buck. I got the red optical switches and they are amazing. Key caps really really smooth. Comes with a usb c which relieves me because I though I was going to have to buy one. Also comes with key cap and switch pullers. Overall best 60% on the market.
I wanted to like this keyboard SO BAD but I just couldn’t and the reason for that is the layout of it.
I am used to fullsize keyboards and have been looking for a purple keyboard with RGB leds for the LONGEST time. When I found this one, I figured I would get used to the smaller layout of the keyboard, but I received it and just hated it. With pain in my heart, I returned it.
If you like small keyboard layouts, I recommend this product 100% which is why I’m writing this review. It’s just not for me. The RGB leds were absolutely gorgeous and the keyboard overall felt very nice and durable when testing it out. The colour lavender it has is absolutely perfect.
All in all, if this keyboard existed in fullsize layout I would absolutely THROW my money at it because it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. But I just can’t with the small layout. So sad 🙁

I usually don’t leave reviews but HOLY this keyboard is soooo good I mean seriously it’s super responsive I have bought yellow and red optical switches and the yellow ones are super fast it’s the fastest keyboard I have tried and I’ve had a razer huntsman mini and an apex pro TKL but a warning the keys press on accident sometimes it’s like playing on a touchscreen so it’s super responsive but also super easy to press weather that’s good or bad idk depends from person to person but the red switches are absolutely perfect I mean seriously they are super responsive they don’t press on accident they sound so good and they are built to last. So in summary idk personally don’t know about black or blue switches but red and yellow switches are really good I’d give yellow switches 9.5/10 and the red ones 10/10
Used it for 2 months and then spilled a drink on it. It never worked agai
I am happy with Gk61 and I am glad that my choice was the silver switch which is still fast for me just need time but the keyboard is good and I don’t feel eny different between this one and some of the big and expensive brands in the market.

Simply put, you can’t go wrong with this. I was hesitant to buy this because my work requires arrow keys and fn keys but it works just fine. Another plus point is that they’re optical switches, she I don’t see them failing anytime soon. I was using the logi G413 which was a nightmare with key breakages, the double actuation issues. Worthy upgrade. Chose this over the HyperX Alloy Origins and so far I don’t regret this choice. I bought the Gateron Brown Variant because I game less and type more
Very good product, sounds very clean, wish it was a bit more customisable with the rgb

Button works but my RGB lights stopped working edit: I fixed it ig u can turn off/on the lights perfect keyboard I’ve spilled water on it a lot of times it didn’t break I just let it dry for a few days it’s suck a good keyboard
Pros:
-El teclado no tiene flex.
-Suave como mantequilla.
-Fuerza de actuacin alta y consistente(Gateron negros)
Contras:
here is signifigant stabalizer and spring sound feedback that can be annoying without headphones. the lack of software hurts for those without the hk gaming version, but overall is a very solid keyboard for the price, as well as potential for hotswap switches
After many hours of research and videos of which keyboard I should get, I ended up getting the GK61 as a beginner board (budget AND hot-swappable!) I followed a few videos (How to EASILY Lube an Optical Mechanical Keyboard by Hipyo Tech.. Absolutely amazing tutorial you should follow.)
I lubed with Super Lube 510510 (available on Amazon) by pressing the optical browns down and squirt on each corner. Works like magic! Highly, highly recommended!!!! Also added foam behind the PCB and plate, which makes the typing experience sound/feel so much better!!
Cannot recommended this keyboard enough. Budget FTW!

Bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it, says the switches are so fast and good

My 15 year old loves it. Small and responsive, it’s what he hoped it would be like.
A great candidate as a starter mechanical keyboard for people who want to play around with switch configurations. I have no issues with the optical switches either and they are very accurate.
The only issue I have with the keyboard is that some of the RGB LEDs are brighter than others, sometimes resulting in colours that are different from one another in single-colour backlight mode. This is most prevalent when using solid white for all keys as the RGB colour.

It’s a wonderful hotswappable opto mechanical keyboard with Gateron yellows which are linear
I have added foam in the base and I gave lubed the switches with super lube and have put the custom Akko world tour Tokyo keycaps and the keyboard is amazing to type on and also for gaming. It’s a fast switch and buttery smooth after the mods.
It is great even at stock but better when modded
The price is also very reasonable. A couple of months ago it was around 14K like so many other 60% keyboards on Amazon India where sellers list prices of keyboards which costs $50-$200 as high as INR 15000- 45000 ( plz regulate the prices …. it’s daylight robbery )

This Keyboard is very good for the price. it’s very fast and responsive and the rgb is amazing. I got the silver switches and the sound amazing , so satisfying :). I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD
Schneller als das Apex Pro. Bestes Keyboard was ich jemals benutzt habe. Aktuaktionspunkt von nur 0.2mm

I already had a few keyboard but none were really good and still more expensive than this one.
-Doesn’t take much space on my desktop
-Despite the limited amount of keys, it is very easy to understand and customize.
-Most satisfying feel I’ve ever had, each touch feels like pressing little marshmallows due to the very little effort required to press the keys. Excellent for gaming, especially in games where you need to press tons of keys.
-Super silent, I can game at night without making my family cry in despair
I never excepted it to be THIS good. In fact I can’t even find a single flaw.

I bought this keyboard and just got it in my hands but the pictures showed a braided cable but when I received it there was just a regular cable non braided and the box is also different, might be because the keyboard has a 2nd version according to the back on the keyboard
To be honest i don’t know what I expected but when I received it my first thought was “I thought it’d be bigger”. I didn’t see any mention of the size (it’s 29cm by 10 cm btw). Still a very pretty keyboard, bought it cuz it was the first LED gaming keyboard I’ve seen in purple.
Amazing keyboard especially in white with black switches, would recommend for and entry level 60% mechanical keyboard.

I was a bit hesitant to order this keyboard, First, this being my first 60% keyboard and second, this being my first ever mechanical keyboard xD , and also I’m a software dev, so the keyboard is a thing that you can’t mess with it. If you aren’t comfortable with it then you can’t write code on it; it’s as simple as that. I’ve used other mechanical keyboards, The Logitech and also the HyperX alloy, I know Arrow keys Section plays a big role when you are coding and also even when you are just surfing on the internet and I’m telling you this with my own experience, you will not feel any difference! You just have to give it some time to get your brain used to it. (It took approx 2 days for me) and also it comes with software and some layers so if you’re a computer geek just like me, then you can tweak some stuff there, play with macros, LEDs, and all, but it’s on you. If Hyperx is out of your budget and you are looking for a normal usage mechanical keyboard then this keyboard surely will be the best option for you at this moment.
PROS: everything is programmable., doesn’t have a clicky sound, optical switches, comfy and compact design.
CONS: keycaps can be an issue here, but you can change them if you have some spare money in your hand. that’s the only reason I’m giving it a 5 star Rating, company should provide PBT keycaps at least for WASD keys and also command and other keys for MAC, just like other companies do.
Son loves it, especially as he can change light settings
