I bought this for my sister who is an avid gardener. She was excited to get it! The tool is very sharp (the safety cover is definitely a welcome addition), and I can see it being a wonderful tool to use for Spring planting. The blade is quite large for a hand tool: I can see why the manufacturer describes it as a “hand plow”.
OK, it won’t substitute for a plow or harrow, but it is really handy for weeding and planting/transplanting. I seldom go to the garden to do anything without falling back on this tool.
I am a heavy duty gardner. This beats all the other tools I have. It removes weeds and has been invaluable for my brick paver install. Can’t say enough positive things about this.
Bought this for my wife as a present , she uses it on her allotment , she loves it , she can do weeding now without having to kneel down. Only downside 4 stars cos a bit pricy
This is brilliant, gets any and all weeds out with very, very little effort from the user. Best tool I’ve had. I use it in a stone border, and also in rockery that has wood chips. It’s really good
I love this thing! I’ve used it constantly and find it serves most purposes in our allotment. Great for cultivating, digging out couch grass, hoeing between plants but can also level soil, make seed drills etc. it’s simply but beautifully made and I would say represents super value for money!

For real though, he says it’s the best garden tool he has. Our soil is heavy clay and this has helped him in the garden where the tiller can’t fit.
I have used my little hand mattock for weeding on our heavy clay for years and years this new tool is magic and is already my go-to! Well done Homi Youngju!

This is hands down the best gardening tool I’ve (you’ll) ever owned! I’ve been gardening for nearly 50 years (on and off) I wish I’d known about this tool back in the day. Buy one you won’t regret it 🙂
So I just got this tool, and really can’t comment on longevity except to say that it looks sturdy if not eternal.
What I do want to say is this: I bought this tool because after a robust session weeding out ill-considered groundcover that had spread too far, I finally broke my Cobrahead weeder. I like that tool a lot, was doing stupid things with it, and would buy one again. That said, I figured since I had to buy something in that general purpose (weeding, digging, trenching) vein, I might try a Ho Mi, and after googling around found this one.
Just doing a few things with it, I’m delighted with what a machine it is for weeding, cultivating, and making furrows. Makes creating borders a breeze, even easier than Cobrahead. So use wise, this is a keeper. I guess I could imagine still wanting a Cobrahead because a) why not? and b) there might be some small scale work getting between cracks, etc., that it might work better for. But for many uses this design is more powerful even than that one.
One possible issue: the handle is relatively small (short). I think this may be intentional, as it is weighted very nicely and ergonomically. That said, if you have big hands you might miss the more ample handle of the Cobrahead weeder. On the whole though this one will make you want to put on your clogs and get out there weeding.
Wow, I wish I’d had one of these before as it’s brilliant at loosening soil around plants and helps with weeding. It is nicely sturdy, and well-balanced.

I had been looking for a hand plow that could be used in my higher raised beds. I like to turn my soil when I am preparing it for the next crop. This tool is great at getting as deep as you like and turning amendments as well as digging any possible unwanted weeds and/or roots from previous crops. Well made

This tool is wonderful for garden weeding and is sturdy and well built. However, it doesn’t do as well on the driveway. The tool is too wide on the tip to get into the cracks to reach the weed roots.
If you garden, you need this tool. It laughs at my smug heavy clay soil.
Really beautiful tool. feels great to hold in your hand even if your using it all day. Point is nice and sharp for breaking through hard soil or uprooting weeds and the curve is just right for cultivating and grading. I just love the hand forged look too.

Just amazing. You can do so many things with it. Really well made and well priced. Why is this not the top tool in any garden magazine? Wish there was a larger long handled version too.
Sharp and can do pinpoint weeding around the veggies. Just pulling it across the top of the soil rids the weeds, or with little force easily goes subsoil to uproot the weeds.
Not only does it shave weed, it’s great for planting, clearing debris, even cutting through tough roots. The quality is exceptionally rugged enough to handle even the hardest of soils. Having a HOMI also eliminates carrying around of a tote full of hand tools. Every gardener should have a HOMI in their garden tool arsenal.

It is so easy to work with in the garden, great for planting, wedding, breaking up the soil. I love it!I had one like it for about 15 years, but left it outside all the time and it finally started oming apart. So I like that this one has a cover and I will take better care of it this time becuz it is indispensible.
by far this is a superior product, materials and workmanship is excellent. and it comes with a very excellent high quality sheath. ( not a cover, a true sheath. ) fine product… used for hand weeding and small flower garden tilling. Works better than any hoe or other garden utensil I have ever used, and I grew up on a farm in Oklahoma USA
This is a traditional homi that makes weed control in the lawn and garden an absolute breeze! It was recommended to me by my Korean neighbor – it’s best garden hand tool we own! Plus, when the metal scale (from manufacturing) wears off, it gets a really nice broken-in look after a few hours in the soil. It also makes for a great Halloween costume prop!

I am not disappointed. It is about the best thing I have ever used to hoe with. It fits well in your hand, it slices through the dirt like a knife through hot butter, and turns the soil over as it goes. Very little effort is required by the handler, to turn your soil over, and to dig deep too.
