A few drops of this work magic! I have two water features in a south west facing garden, and a few drops of this liquid eats away any algae/mould and keeps it away. I am very glad I found it.
Had a problem with the water in our feature turning green after a few days. This products had good reveiws so gave it a try. Its been 2 weeks since I drained and refilled the water feature and its still clear so seems to be doing its job well. It says to treat every week but so far so good
I’ve used powdered products before to try to keep the water feature clear, but they never worked particularly well, and didnt do anything for algea. Admittedly I haven’t tested this product in the height of algea season yet, but it’s doing a fantastic job so far of keeping the water crystal clear.

My water feature was a mass of Algiers due to the heat. Crystal clear and flowing beautifully within 2 days.
The water feature I have is small but was very green and discoloured water. Pour small amount in it and clean as a whistle within days. Didn’t need to clean it prior to pouring. It did the job for me.
I use this once a week in my water feature during warm weather but less often in the winter. I find I need to use a bit more than suggested, I use 5ml. I was reassured that it is pet and wildlife safe as garden birds come to drink. The only negative is that it’s hard to just dispense 5ml. I pour some into a little tub and use a syringe.

The water in my garden fountain had gone green and a little smelly. This cleared it straight away, it is now running crystal clear. Only problem is that you need so little it’s quite hard not to overdose.. but it will last for ages. Good value.
Seems a rather small bottle however given that you only require a small amount it will last for months. I wish I had tried this sooner as I was forever cleaning my water feature the minute I saw it getting the least been green. I have only been using this product for a few weeks however it has remained so clean and fresh looking since I started to use it I will certainly continue buying this. I highly recommend giving it a go.
This fountain clear dose a first class job on garden fountains this is the second bottle we have purchased as we were so impressed with the results from the first time use.

My decorative pond was full of green gunge and dead leaves so I emptied it, cleaned it out and added the fluid when I refilled it. Weeks later the water is clear and my fountain hasn’t been blocked up yet.
My DIY fountain kept turning green as grass and leaves fell into it. I cleaned it as best I could but you can still see some of the algae on the rocks. It’s been a couple of weeks and the green from the rocks has gone. Despite petals and other debris falling in, the water stays clear!
I can also attest that it’s safe for animals as I’ve witnessed a pigeon and my cat drinking from it. Both seem to be completely fine!

This additive for our small water fountain is excellent. It keeps the water clean fro algae and doesn’t seem to affect the birds who drink and bathe in the water. Only needs half a capful every 2-3 weeks so will last a good while. Very happy with my purchase.
What more can be said. It keeps the water in your water features crystal clear. Even cleared the green water in one I added it to!
IMPORTANT: just to iterate the label’s warning, DO NOT ADD to water features that contain aquatic life or fish ponds: it’s a strong disinfectant and will kill them.
This is by far the best product for de-greening your water feaure. I gave ours the recommended ‘shock’ dosage to start things off, and overnight there was a distinct improvement. Admittedly, ours is not a large water feature (approx. 320 litres), but I was really pleased with how quickly the green algae film died off. The feature looks so much better for having had the treatment. I strongly recommend buying the largest size you can – it may seem a big initial outlay but you will save on the cost per dosage.

I have Hydra Fountain Clear on subscription, at the recommended dose for our fountain and pool (500l water) one bottle lasts 6 months, so quite economical. It works brilliantly, even though one of my dogs, with her muddy paws enjoys taking a regular dip to cool off. We clean and replace the water just once a year. Highly recommend using this.

It arrived a few weeks ago and has only been used once and that was the day it arrived.
It’s just beginning to look like it needs a top up now which is amazing as it’s in full sun all day.

Works well little difficult to work out dosage as the measure level is difficult to read.

Normally I strip down my water feature to clean it takes two days, however I saw this and thought I would give it a go, three days later green as nearly all gone, really pleased with this product would recommend and buy again.

I have tried many cleaners, this is the best yet. Not pet/wildlife friendly, something I never noticed when ordering. We have a Cat that visits our garden, but he drinks from the stone bird bath, so not worried.

I have only used a very small amount of hydra fountain clear and the water feature has stayed clear for over a week now.
This makes it easy to use, and if a small amount is all I will need every few weeks, it will be good value for money.
Moved my water feature from home to my caravan. Was surprised at how quickly the water went green and ‘eggy’ at home, and at the van, the fountain in in direct sun for most of the day. Never even heard of this before looking but took a punt when I found this on Amazon. Works a treat and no green water or farty odour so far. I’ve have to top up the tank on the fountain weekly in the warm weather and add a shot of this each time. No smell and no slime! I’m happy. Recommended.

Only put a few drops into water solar fountain and the water stays clear for weeks and pump works so much better as it’s not getting blocked

Very easy to use. Has transformed an old stone fountain in a matter of days. The old green algae has now gone from the fountain pool base. The product has also stopped new algae forming.
I have an architectural pond and was struggling to keep it clear. Despite filtration and shocking with chlorine, it remained slightly green and slightly cloudy. 24 hours after adding this, it was absolutely crystal clear. Stunning result. HOWEVER this is not compatible with the hydra water dyes. Use aqua brite instead.

Excellent! Used in my two waterfall features both of which were turning very green due to the algea build up. When I checked next day it was like I’d just filled them both with fresh tap water.
Being very lazy, I tried a shock dose of 5ml in my wall fountain without first cleaning the system. The water was cloudy, with wispy fronds of algae.
Overnight, the water completely cleared and the flow greatly improved – indicating that the internal piping had been cleared too!
After previously faffing around with pipe brushes and vinegar, I’m absolutely chuffed with how well this stuff performs.

Been using for a while for a water fountain. Water is relatively clear but I guess dust and soil makes the water slight foggy. Might be better appreciated in smaller installations.
Was a bit sceptical about this product but was guided by the reviews and I was not disappointed, I needed it to clear green algae in my water feature and it did and continues to do so its never been so clean, and I like the the water being blue.
Seems to be effective at reducing algae growth. Difficult to tell as I’ve only carried out three applications but there’s a definite improvement in the clarity of the water and a lack of green growth on the pebbles and plant holders.
I bought this product to treat a green algae accumulation in my water feature, and I have to say it works brilliantly.
It is relatively cheap to buy, very easy to use (just a small weekly dosage added to the water), and it will last for around a year before I need to buy again.
I wasn’t expected great results at the price I paid, but have been pleasantly surprised how effective it is. There’s not a sign of the algae coming back since I started using this stuff. Amazing really!

I have my pond for years and this is the clearest it has been . I don’t have anything living in the pond and this is great to keep the water clear . In fact it is crystal clear and any scum or debris just went to the bottom .
This thing is brilliant. I’ve bought tablets previously and my water fountain would still go green and slimey after a few weeks. But I put 1 tiny drop of this and 5 weeks later, still no slime!

I have been using this for years now….. always works well in my water fountain. The only issue that I have is that it leaves a Blueish/Green Residue which is very frustrating to say the least, but it really does keep the Algae etc off.
I have had a small tree trunk water feature in my garden for about three years now. I always had trouble keeping the water clear and smell free and had to partially drain and refill it every few weeks in the summer. I used Hydra Water Clear this season and it is a brilliant product. Dosed the water as per instructions at the start of the season with the occasional tiny top up every few weeks and clear water and no smell all summer.
This water cleanser works,unlike the more expensive one that we bought from the garden centre where we purchased our fountain from, this one has kept our large 5 tier fountain clear of algae.

Have spent a lot of money over the years buying products that claimed to keep my fountain clear of algae. In every case within a week or two the water and fountain turned green. Now six weeks since I treated the fountain with this product and the water is still clear. Delighted.
I have tried several powder additives and none lasted for more than two weeks, a complete waste of time and money but this liquid is fantastic, nearly a month and a half since I started using it and the water is crystal clear, and the birds come and have a bath. With the small amount needed each week for a top up the bottle should last for a considerable time.
Brilliant for our kelkay 3 bowls water feature. The previous product we used was not very effective and was very expensive. The feature needs topping up regularly because the wind blows the water away so it needs topping up with solution regularly. Only a small quantity is needed and the water hasn’t been green since we started using it. Very very happy with this product.
After a few hours, the water coming out was cleaner. Three days later, it was coming through clear and I could see through the water in each part of the feature too (it’s got four tiers). Previously, murky wouldn’t have described it. Now, 10 days in, I have treated it again and the green stuff on the sides of each tier is gradually disappearing. Great stuff – really would recommend. It’s easy to use and doesn’t harm wildlife either. Win-win!
Bought a new water feature and decided to try and keep the water clear in this one from the start . Read all the reviews and this product stood out from the rest , easy to use and works well . First dose is a bit higher than the regular monthly dose needed and so far it’s done the trick .No sign of any algae or gunk, it does give the water a slight blue tint but that fine with me . Only need a couple of drops a month to top up so think it will be quite economical. Definately recommend .
As advertised. I purchased this as it is safer with young children around than other similar products. Reasonably easy to apply as there is a reservoir at the top of the bottle, give the bottle a squeeze and the liquid goes up into the reservoir for pouring out. Only problem is once it’s in there it won’t go back into the bottle it came from and when it arrived the reservoir was full meaning I used slightly more that I probably would have for the first application. Fountain looks happy and the water is clear and slime free!
On receipt of the Hydra Fountain product I read the advice leaflet and decided to drain the water feature and refill from the tap with the hose pipe, my water feature is fairly large and holds 200 litres of water, which according to the Yorkshire Water website would cost me about 50p to fill (I’m on a water meter), so the 50p was a lot cheaper than the rescue dose advised.
It is now 3 weeks since I did this and I follow the instructions and add a maintenance dose of 20ml every week (at the recommended rate of 1ml to every 10litres) and so far the water has remained crystal clear. This might be more expensive than some of the other advertised products, but a 20ml dose every week from a 500ml bottle means the bottle will last 6 months.
So that should be plenty to last before the winter drain down and enough to give me a head start next year.
