There is little to dislike about this camera. It is well made, metal cased and records locally to SD card as well as over the local Wi-Fi. Picture quality is excellent, especially in darkness.
Bad stuff.
The manual – even the addenda on the web site – are poor translations into English. If you are new to this sort of kit you might have problems, especially with some of the advanced features.
It only really works with Internet Explorer – at least to set up – as it relies on Active X components, which are not supported in modern browsers, not even in Microsoft s’ Edge. So keep an old copy of IE to hand for setups.
Like a lots of this type of kit, the proof will be in how well it stands the test of time, but it looks a good buy so far.
Everything about this one is good. Very good.
I needed three units to put around my home. I tried others but two things stood out about this one.
Because I have no power supply available, and no internal batteries, I needed to give the units a car battery supply. This one allows it. And it works. The other thing was that because I needed t to identify which point of access is ringing, I needed to either set up three unique alert sounds or get the bell cameras to relay an image to the area.
This one does it. So yes. This is the unit you should buy.
Easy install, performance excellent. Video images are good.
Excellent camera with good product support, the picture quality is as good if not better than higher end systems both day and night, the audio is an extra bonus and the ability to adjust the sensitivity is a bonus, I didn’t want every passing vehicle picked up so with a small adjustment it avoids them now. I have an SD card in the camera and this works well for recording when alarm is triggered, I don’t use the all day function for planned recording times but useful if required. The ability to watch live is good for when I’m in the workshop, plus I can have a conversation through the audio with delivery drivers. All in all very pleased, good price and good quality camera that is easy to fit and set up. I will be buying another very soon.
This is my second ieGeek IP outdoors camera. First one was for home in white. This one for indoors use in my office. The resolution on full colour during daytime and night vision on grey and white during nigh time are pretty spectacular for the price point. Installation on wall is straightforward and connection to WiFi/Ethernet take a bit of time, but once connected never drops and remote access via the app is always there.
One minor issue is when it’s raining and I have setup the Motion Detection Alarm to record, it seems the sensitivity of the lenses picks up the rain as movement. Apart from that, I am extremely happy.

Ill start with the negatives. There is about a 1minute lag in the motion detection. The person (eg postman) has already left before it captures the image. The two way communication is very off it takes atleast 20seconds before the person at the door can hear me and before i can hear them reply. I bought this as i have a new baby and it is not always easy get to the door on time. Also as there has been alot of burglaries in our area. The plus of this is the live viewing and camera quality both day and night is amazing. It was very easy set up.
Installed an outside power socket to plug camera into. Working well, monitoring garage and drive to 128GB SD card. Using the cameras WAP instead of a router. Wireless connectivity about 20 metres. I have thick solid walls so signal has difficulty penetrating. Opening a window in the house helps being able to connect from laptop.
Picture quality is excellent, day and night. The humanoid sensitivity settings needs playing with as the alarm keeps going off. I’ve disabled the siren in the interim.
All in all a good buy for the price.
The previous camera has been running for over a year without any issues.
I now have 3 of these cameras and and I’m very impressed with them. This camera is easy to set up and connect to the wifi and the app allows me to access any of these cameras when I need to remotely. Highlights are below:
* Good night vision and ‘HD’ option gives good visibility and length.
* Records videos in 15 seconds bursts and detection sensitivity can be set.
* Can record hours and hours of footage so nothing is missed.
* Once SD card is full it re-records so always saves the most up to date videos.
* Easy to install and affix to the wall. picks up Wifi well.
* Very weatherproof, mine has withstood very heavy downpours.
Overall I would highly recommend this ieGeek camera.
This wired doorbell is the answer to all my problems after spending so much time messing about with the last one and its battery issues,ieGeek just works perfectly and does what it says!
The indoor chime is a masterstroke it can go anywhere you have a power socket within your wifi coverage and the layout of the software is simple and I love simple.
You can see the rain cover around mine recommend getting one if your house faces into the weather got mine from amazon to easy to install and see also the indoor chime located upstairs where I can hear it.
I fully recommend this doorbell as the best one that I have seen.
Went for this product as I wanted a doorbell that could be easily hard wired with internal memory.
As always with iegeek this is a great product and a good alternative to ring. The human motion detection works very well and I am not plauged with false alarms as my cats run past.
The camera quality is very good in daylight and low light at night.
The app took a bit of playing around with to set up the doorbell as I wanted it. But once this is done the doorbell does everything you would want. The inclusion of an angled mounting bracket is a good addition.
Installation is a breeze with only minimal DIY skills needed.
Works well with Alexa, I use a portal to view the camera.
All in all I would definitely recommend this product.
I chose this doorbell with security camera, to add to another security camera that I have fitted to the front of house. Installation was very quick and no issues and no need for an electrician (assuming you have a socket near the front door). It really was as simple as drilling a hole in the frame, feed the wires through to the bell, (connect(in doesn’t matter which wire to which terminal) insert a micro SD card (not supplied) screw to frame and plug in. They even supply an angled fitting, which I used so that the bell very subtly points at the person pressing the bell. The wifi set up I found to be a pain free experience and I now have both security cameras linked to the Cloudedge App as detailed in the instructions. All in all it was up and running inside an hour.
I bought this IG90 camera as a replacement for the earlier model IG62 and this is an impressive improvement!
The camera has a much wider lens and easily takes in all the driveway and the approach road to my house. The 5MP resolution is good and the camera now has enhanced motion detection with humanoid detection.
The camera is well made and looks very nice and neat. It comes with everything in the box to get you set up. You will need an SD card (I use 32gb) if you want to be able to record rather than just monitor live feed.
As I had the earlier model already, installation was very easy. SD card access panel is well thought out. The set-up is very easy even if this is your first camera;
* Plug the supplied network cable to your router
* Connect to power
* Download the very user friendly CamHipro app
* Find the camera in the app and insert your Wi-Fi password
* Unplug the network cable
* All in all 10 minutes and very easy
I have changed the video settings to 25fps and bit rate to 6144kbps, the highest settings for best video quality.
You can then set up your alarm and recording settings, detection area, sensitivity etc. (Or you can just leave it as it is and it’ll do its job) The new app CamHipro is really very easy to use.
Very impressed wit the build quality, picture quality day and night and with the app. The app allows constant recording or only records when motion is detected directly onto the SD Card and will overwrite automatically when full.
There is 2-way audio available, which is very useful, as you can hear direct while viewing the camera and speak out even if you are on the other side of the world. Great for instructing delivery drivers.
When it comes to physically installing, screws and plugs are supplied, as is a template to allow you to drill holes in the right place… no holding in position, trying to mark the holes. Camera arm has 3-way adjustment, so ensuring it points in the right direction is easy too.
Love everything about this (including the price). Only issues I found are the length of wire could be longer (but fine if you have a plug socket in your hallway). Also not too keen on having only one account holder with others sharing because when I turn alerts off on my Khonsu that affects everyone- but can deal with that. Other things I love are the video quality and the fact that it doesn’t rely on batteries- overall live it!
As soon as I took the camera out of the box I was surprised just how well made it seems to be with its sturdy metal case and mount. I decided to use the RJ45 socket for a wired connection on my installation. After downloading the CamHiPro app on my phone, the installation and setup was very easy. The phone app lets you do everything you need to which is really good.
I invested in a quality micro SD card and spent a few days adjusting the video settings with the app. The recorded playback is smooth and the video quality is high. You can freeze the playback, zoom into the picture and read the detail like vehicle reg numbers. I have it set for both continual and alert recording. The app lets you list the recording files and any that were alert triggered are highlighted in red, great if you just want to see what was happening when you were out. I should be able to get over a month’s worth of recordings on the 128Gb card before the files are overwritten. Its easy to dowload a file you want to save onto your phone with the app.
It’s good that the app prompts you to change the camera default password. Don’t forget to set the camera time and timezone. If you need to reset or change from wired to wifi you might need to quit from the app and go back in.
I’m really pleased with this camera and already thinking about getting another.

This product is easy to fit utilising my existing 14v ac transformer supply, the set up and operating instructions could do with updating including the Cloudedge App as they are sometimes difficult to understand. The English translation is not always clear. overall this is a good buy.
Great camera with a very clear picture quality. Playback of recordings are great and easy to access. Alarm settings are a godsend which can be turned on and off as necessary especially when away from your home for several days.
A real bonus is the ability to have Audio both ways, what a great feature.
All in all, a great camera even though it is slightly expensive. I like these cameras so much I have 2 which cover the front and back of the house. Night vision is also quite brilliant.
I purchased one several days ago,(October 2020) unfortunately, I had a faulty one, contacted the service team replacement sent out straight away. This one worked great for approx 9 months then this week as soon as the warm weather came if fell apart. I contact the supplier who stated , take it up with Amazon as they charge you for the 2 year warranty? I am afraid that Amazon customers services were far from helpful.
Thankfully the igeek service department look at this and took control of the situation and sorted a replacement camera for me, absolutely excellent support from the igeek team

I bought this camera after reading the good reviews and im not disappointed. The camera is very simple to set up and i was up and running in minutes. Please see below some of the features i really like.
* The Humanoid detection is a really good feature as it seems to eliminate all the unwanted false triggers of animals and cars going past, resulting in just actual alarms being saved to the sd card or alerting you by email.
* The image quality is very clear, i was really impressed by the night vision.
* I would recommend going on the pc app as this gives you extra features of being able to set up to 4 alarm windows and set independent sensitivity.
Overall im really impressed and it has stacks of other features im still finding out about. Highly recommended.
Great camera with good picture quality and connection options.
I was concerned about WiFi signal as my router is quite a distance from where I wanted the camera. This was not a problem, the camera has a strong connection, even at distance.
Unfortunately due to the anantenna placement, its not possible to aim the camera to the right more than a few degrees.
Definitely 5 stars for value for money, given that its 5MP and easy to set up (eg you dont need to use lan)…. but is it safe? it is a new product recently released and so security should be improved but not sure if that means its difficult to hack? eg I expect it sends your wifi password unencrypted to servers in china?
slow motion vehicles are fine – default is 15fps but Ive set mine to 25fps- not sure if it pays any attention? looks like h265 records at ~1MB for 3seconds.
If you want to stop crime (ie read number plates and recognise faces ) then I think this is the absolute minimum quality you need
Having used the 2MP version of this camera to record hedgehog activity ay my home, I was keen to get this 5MP version, simply due to the increased resolution it has.
The improved resolution is definitely noticeable on the resulting stills and video – this 5MP camera captures a lot more detail than the old 2MP model. However, at night with IR, the difference in definition of any moving image (e.g. a person or animal), is not really noticeable – you may struggle to get any identifying features of a person’s face caught in the footage. This however, is a problem with any IR camera I have ever seen, so I don’t see it as a problem with this particular camera.
The colours in this 5MP camera’s footage are also a lot better than on the 2MP model.
The camera feels solid and well made, and is easy to mount in the angle you want it to sit. The Cam-Hipro app makes setup easy and you can make it capture stills and video on motion detection (sensitivity adjustable) to a MicroSD card (not included) plugged into the camera. It will also record continuously (in clips up to 900 seconds) which helps if you want to see footage leading up to, or after an alert. It can also send to a FTP server, up to 15 seconds of footage and 3 still photos very shortly after motion is detected – useful if the camera is stolen. There are a lot of other configurable settings, e.g. to set the area that motion is detected in to trigger an alert, so that you could for example, exclude a neighbour’s driveway.
One huge improvement is ‘humanoid detection’. When enabled, this means that an alert (Cam-Hipro notification, email or FTP recording) should only be generated if the camera detects movement that appears to be human. I played around with this and it does appear to work quite well, optionally framing the ‘person’ in a yellow box as it moves about. When enabled, it should not trigger if animals or other movement like swaying foliage or rain is seen (alerts from rain does occur a lot on the older 2MP model), but as I am using the camera for wildlife recordings, I don’t enable this feature, and generally don’t look at alerts if it’s been raining due to the continual alerts that that are generated without humanoid detection enabled.
The Windows HiP2P Client offers even more settings than the mobile app Cam-Hipro (e.g. to enable “Wide dynamic range” to improve on the visibility of light and dark areas of the footage/stills). It does feel a little ‘clunky’ and takes a little getting used to (it helps to be a ‘techie’ to get it working and use it). You can also set up to 4 different sized and positioned areas (with different sensitivities) to detect motion in, whereas on the mobile app, only one area can be set.
Due to having ONVIF & RTSP, the choice of software to use with this camera is vastly increased – I was easily able to get AnyCam to access the camera, and the resulting live image was even better than on the Windows HiP2P Client software as it showed the main stream instead if the sub-stream (I could not get HiP2P to show the sub stream live even though it is an option), but recorded video and images are all from the main stream.
So all in all, despite the few minor issues mentioned above, I think this is a superb camera well deserving 5 stars. I have attached some cropped images comparing the images during day and night of the old 2MP camera and this 5MP camera, a full daytime image , and a night video that first shows footage from the old 2MB camera, and then from this 5MB camera so the differences in image quality can be compared.
This camera is compatible with CamHi, the same app I’ve used for the other 3 wired IeGeek cameras I’ve bought over the time.
I’ve did the camera setup in less than 5 min including micro SD fitting. Very easy and intuitive process.
All the accessories have been supplied as presented in the attached picture. I still haven’t got any issue with my first IeGeek camera I’ve bought few years ago. I hope this upgrade will proof to have the same reliability.
Great quality pictures and video for the price I paid for this device.
Comes with night vision which is clear and also has red lights on the camera at night which makes it visible and could be used as a deterrent.
Good size and looks nice on the wall, still need to tidy up the wires with some ties.
Quick installation followed the guide, the only issue I had was that I had to enable a DHCP connection in my router settings which I have provided a photo of, but that only took a minute to log in as the admin router and enable that, for people who aren’t as tech savvy I am sure there will be a family member or you could contact your network provider whom will assist you.
Packaging was secure and very good.
I had an older model camera which had a lower resolution, so the upgrade is a lot better with this new camera.
We upgraded an older video doorbell which we had problems with loosing connection. This doorbell is much much better, it is easy to install and having permanent electrical connection you do not have to worry about the batteries running out while you might be away.
The response is also very quick, as soon as the door bell is triggered, it calls your mobile phone which means you won’t miss a call. This was an issue on another manufacturer doorbell where there was a delay of over a minute at times before it would call your mobile by which time you had missed the call.
Overall I would strongly recommend this product.
This camera is stunning – far better detail and higher definition than earlier iegeek 1080P cameras and far wider viewing angle.
For the novice out of the box wanting wifi camera to work….
If you follow basic instructions, download app to your phone (say Camhipro) use ethernet cable connected to router and set up wifi as instructed. (I have my cameras on wifi not ethernet, the reason being I don’t want to drill ‘big’ holes in walls to feed ethernet cables through to router). I actually installed ABS boxes on exterior of house to contain all cables everything except 12V power cable.
Firstly, the app…There’s a few settings you might want to alter and use, alarm recording etc.
You can alter ‘Humanoid alarm’ to ‘frame human form’ if you want see frame of AI in app recording and what has caused ‘human’ trigger. It’s not infallible – the neighbours fat black cat sometimes triggers it at night…haha!
You can also use this ‘Humanoid alarm’ function with ‘motion detection’ if desired and link the two together and define area trigger. I personally don’t use this, and I’ll explain why further down.
I actually cranked the bit rate up to 6144 and frame rate to 25Fps in video settings. Because it is VBR (variable bit rate) and Fps is maximum frame rate, the camera decides what is best in firmware…i.e these are not fixed, so will vary regardless…some people think the camera is ‘fixed’ to this bitrate and Fps – not true…I also did this because video definition is higher and much clearer than default video settings..
The video replay will ‘stutter’ on playback in app after trigger (if you look at little symbol of SD icon on ‘Camera’ you can access all triggers and view them). Consider this a ‘preview’ of what caused motion trigger…it seems that when camera triggers off movement, the frames ‘freeze’ on trigger and causes ‘stuttering’. I see others complaining about this…however, if you ‘download’ triggered video to app, SD ‘symbol’ ‘download’ this puts video in app folder. Then return and go into app folder icon on main ‘Camera screen’. Hit the blue ‘download symbol’ at right hand side of saved video in app…and then hit ‘determine’ – it means ‘yes’…another Chinese term haha! This converts and puts video in your phone. Now, replay video that’s in your phone memory…hey presto…no ‘stuttering’… and a smooth video. I’ve tried this on my Samsung S9+ – I just look in ‘gallery’ and recent videos.
I also set the camera up for email as an experiment…a bit fiddly, particularly as I use btemail…took me a while to find the server port and settings – SMTPs name – mail.btinternet.com, server port – 465, safe link – SSL, authentication on.
I actually tried this on another hotmail address I have, these are the settings, SMTP name – smpt.live.com, server port – 587, safe link – STARTTLS, authentication on.
Make sure you put the ‘receive alarm push’ on in settings ‘alarm management and notification’ setting – this will allow camera to transmit email trigger within seconds…
This option sends ‘snapshots’ via email of what caused trigger. You can set how many pictures to be sent…’alarm management and notification’ tab in app, right at bottom ‘number of pictures taken’ – you can set this between 1 and 3.
It works pretty good…
Now, there is another way of accessing more ‘advanced settings’ not available on app but with your own PC on same network in your house.
This is how you do it…In the app, if you scroll down in ‘camera settings’ and ‘Device information’ it gives an ‘IP address of camera’.
Note this, and type the address in search web bar…(I use Chrome).
This camera has a web interface…it should come up with login screen. The default is login name ‘admin’, password ‘admin’ (unless you’ve changed password previously – which I highly recommend…).
You won’t see any live stream off camera – the reason being (in my case), Microsoft/Chrome block flash player automatically as a security risk, and this uses flash player (if you re-enable it – you will see live feed from camera). You can also enter ‘settings’ tab, it’ll possibly ask login name and password again. There’s a plethora of settings…
I actually changed the ‘H265’ default video setting to ‘H264 High profile’ (you cannot access this in app on phone). I’m not a fan of ‘H265’ encoded videos, although it might be great, a lot of older devices don’t support ‘H265’ – it is a new compression method. I actually see no difference in video quality. I also saw some guy complaining that he could not upload ‘H265’ videos to youtube (they don’t support it) on questions about this camera when I looked last night…
There is another reason, I changed the video to ‘H264 High profile’ below…
I’ve actually got these cameras working on ‘Contacam’ software – I have two, monitoring back garden and front garden. They use RTSP, so I can access them with IP address and RTSP port 554.
I love this software on PC – purely my own preference. I can define in intrinsic detail area of what triggers cameras on motion detection…mask out tree branch movements etc.
So, I use a standalone fanless PC in house triggering and recording separately at night time using Contacam.
I primarily use the cameras to monitor wildlife in my front and back garden with PC and Contacam software.
However, I found that Contacam drops camera feed if video setting is ‘H265’. When cameras are set to ‘H264 High profile’ they work perfect. That’s why I altered it.
The HiP2P Client software they recommend, I ditched. It worked great on microsoft windows until I changed passwords on cameras. Then I couldn’t login (even with new password I set on cameras)…couldn’t be bothered investigating why…if I can’t login with a secure password on P2P, I always think bin it.
This is funny as well, the 5MP camera I installed in back garden…the wifi router signal would not reach it. So, I bought a relatively cheap extender from Amazon…https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NIUHAG6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I thought, no chance – it can’t cope with data bandwidth (some people talk absolute rubbish on internet and condemned this when I looked), anyway after lots of fiddling about with where to put it, it works perfect!
So, the pros…
Excellent high definition footage (particularly on my Contacam software).
Very good notification on app ‘human’ motion trigger – it triggers correctly – it’s captured every dog walker that’s walked past my house.
Superb night footage and live high definition video ‘feed’ – possibly the best camera I’ve had for this…
The cons…
HiP2P client is not good enough – I never resolved the login stuff.
Any video I’ve captured never runs greater than 12.5 Fps…which is OK for viewing? Why? I even accessed SD card thinking it was my network…nope! The same on recordings…on app saved footage and Contacam saved footage.
Should give an option in video menu on app to change format of video recording from H265 to H264.
The camera sometimes triggers in app on big fat neighbours black cat…it thinks it is a human…haha!
The Camhipro app always ‘stutters’ on video replay…that needs looking at by iegeek…I shouldn’t have to go through complex steps to prove footage is ok on phone on phone memory…
So, my opinion? Yep, absolutely best wifi cameras I have installed. Great to look at wildlife in more detail than old 1080P cameras…me and partner laugh at some of what these cameras capture when we review in morning…
I’ve attached a couple of videos (I used Contacam to record) and pics of installation …enjoy, I’m no David Bailey, but at least you can see the box I put all ‘redundant’ cables in one pic of camera on front garden. I turned off ‘OSD’ settings for time and date in web interface, because I prefer the Contacam time and date settings on motion detection recordings on videos…

Where do I begin! What a brilliant piece kit with no silly subscription fee. Absolutely pleasant to set up. Extremely easily to work with. Audio recording is so good when I was setting it up before attaching to house I had it tje kitchen and could hear clearly what was being said in the living room. Video quality is brilliant I even tested night vision again absolutely clear with an amazing audio pick up.. Will be purchasing more very soon.
I have 4 of these cameras. For the money the quality is good. I don’t have other cameras to compare to so can only see the night vision is good as is the day time. The brackets can be adjusted in any position you can think of, although some of mine do have a little movement which no matter how much I tighten won’t go away, but it does not impact the picture, no shaking issues.
The software is not easy to use, especially the desktop. On the good side, the support has been excellent, I’ve had quite the back and forwards with them trying to understand how to get certain features working on the software. Iphone appears to zoom in more than Android which is a little odd. Once you get to understand the software it’s all good.
I did have one camera bracket that snapped while adjusting it, support was excellent, no quibble, they immediately replaced it. If they could refine their software and make it more user friendly rather than having to communicate extensively with support then I could have rated it higher.
I bought this as a replacement for the earlier model and this is an impressive improvement!
The camera has a much wider lens and easily takes in all the driveway at the side of my house, probably about a third more than the previous model. The connection was easy using the supplied network cable and long power cable and once the wireless function was enabled the connection has remained rock steady and it was so easy to set up the recording schedule and alarm function. Another big improvement is small access panel to install the SD card (not supplied with the camera), only two screws to remove and refit, not as fiddly as the older camera.
Once installed on the outside wall the improvement in picture quality is immediately noticeable and then there is the addition of sound which can be experienced using the windows interface or the CamHipro app on my mobile phone. My camera is about 10 metres from the road that passes by the house and sits at a height of about 4 metres, but it picks up the sound of passing cars very clearly and I could even hear the binmen speak when they stopped right at my gate. Another noticeable improvement is the quality of night vision — very impressive.
Images and recordings can be viewed I have included some images and video to illustrate the quality that is output from this camera and I cannot recommend it highly enough — a bargain at this price!
I bought this camera to use in a new home in a few weeks’ time. Tried it out to make sure it works first, and it does. Had an issue with it dropping the wired network connection after a few seconds – the router just dropped the connection. It was solved after I formatted the (previously used) SD card I had put in the camera, so using a new or freshly formatted card is obviously a crucial step in the set up of the camera! I was then able to disconnect the network cable and the camera stayed connected to my home wi-fi. It’s now back in its box awaiting its final installation.

Great camera. I Was looking to increase the number I had and decided to go for this one. It works well with the camhipro app, so was easy to set up, and installing on my home is very straight forward.
WiFi connection is great, once you have set up using an ethernet, so then you can access it from anywhere.
This one had a better spec camera which is great as it shows the picture in more detail.

i already have two IG62 cameras and was happy.
Received IG90 (this cam). Setup was very easy. Just connected power lead.
Then phone connected to IP camera’s wifi. And did basic setup and found device IP address.
Motion detect is better to set up via application, not web.
Thru web i changed username and password and Ip address.
Can choose video formats. (Earlier version had only h.264)
This camera also have built in Mic and Speaker!
Have also built in Smart Humanoid Recognition, so don.t need application for that.
Already can see it even on VLC player for example.
One minus, maybe. Still can.t set up emails via starttls. But, who wants pile of emails from camera?
Been struggling with recorded videos outside application, all time playing almost twice faster. But in app works fine.
So quit happy as it supports rtsp and ONVIF.
Plus/minus, just works.
This camera works like a dream. Where I’ve sited it there is a lot of passing traffic in the background so if it was on a conventional motion-detection it would be recording the whole time. But with it’s ability to detect only humans it has an uncanny ability to detect and film any human walking past, but ignore all other movements. Very easy to set up and mount, includes all fixings. The software takes a short while to work out, but once mastered provides a simple access to all of the functionality you will need.

This camera, the IG90, is the upgraded version of the 2MP (1080p) camera, model IG82. I have 4 IG82s which I bought because they are high quality and fairly priced for the specifications and was hoping that the upgraded IG90 would offer the same, so was keen to check out the differences. The reviews on Amazon for the IG82 are very good, so they are worth reading for the baseline. After using the IG90 for a month now, I am really pleased with it, it’s a really good upgrade and have bought an additional unit. The attached video shows a few sequences so you can check it out for yourself.
New Features
The capabilities of this upgraded version are impressive – it’s 5MP resolution, so you get an image that is more detailed, more saturated (better colours) and larger. If you google 1080p vs 5mp security camera you will see reviews that explain the differences in more detail. In the case of the IG90, the upgrade is exactly what you would hope to see – it’s a high quality image. The image area is also larger so if you have the camera positioned so it’s pointing directly down you will capture a noticeably large field of vision than with a 2MP camera.
The IG90 also has humanoid — ie human shape — detection which is really good and allows alerts to be sent whenever it detects a human in areas of the image that you can customise. So you can ignore a busy pavement outside your house, but if someone steps off it to head towards your place you receive an alert.
Other features
Whilst the camera is versatile and can be customised in all kinds of way it can also be used straight out of the box, after changing the default password obviously. The default setting options are fine and include H265 video compression which makes saving the data to SD card or HDD size-efficient. 1h of high resolution H265 footage takes roughly 2GB of memory card or disk space at 15 FPS (the default option) — there are plenty of online calculators that can help you run the numbers – so a 128GB card, which the cameras take and costs around 20, will store 128 hours or so of video. If you set the camera to record only when it’s triggered it will give you weeks of footage. I record to my PC via a WiFi connection and to the camera as a back up, just in case WiFi fails.
The infra red imaging is good for night shots — see the attached video sequence.
The camera works seamlessly with the 3rd party software I use. To be clear, you don’t need additional software to use it — you can use your mobile via the CamHiPro app, which is easy to use, connect to it directly on your PC via the camera’s inbuilt user interface or use 3rd party software. I do all 3. In fact, the easiest way to get started and connect to the network is via the CamHiPro app which is simple to use — just be prepared for some curious translations from Chinese eg “determine” means “ok”!
Network connection
The housing for the IG90 is identical to the IG82 so swapping in the new unit is a breeze if you are upgrading. The easy way to set up the camera before wall mounting is to connect it to your router/network with the supplied CAT5 cable, download the CamHiPro app to your mobile and press the “+” button to detect and add the new camera. At this point, it’s best to do 2 things (1) select and connect to the wifi network you are planning to use when you set it up outside — if you do it now, the camera will auto-reconnect to it when you set it up outside (test the connection by disconnecting the CAT5 cable) (2) if you are so inclined, get the camera’s ip address from the app, connect to it via your pc and change the settings to what works for you.
Troubleshooting Wifi connections
The signal gain on the cameras’ antennae is really good — I have been running them for weeks without dropping the connection for more than a few seconds from time to time — but getting a clean, strong WiFi connection is critical and what seems strong inside will be weaker outside. For troubleshooting, the easiest thing is to buy a long cat5 cable — you can get 50m brand new on a well known auction site delivered for under a tenner — which will allow you to connect direct to the camera and check out the wifi connection around the unit without resetting it or indeed taking it off the wall. Be ready for the wifi signal to be strong at some times of day and weaker at others. I already had an inexpensive wifi network extender which I repositioned and have had no problems.
Support
As far as support is concerned, there have been no problems with this unit — previously, I had a problem with one of the previous cameras, the support team were very helpful and when we realised it wasn’t functioning properly they replaced it. No hassle.
I’ve had a few CCTV cameras before, including some of the previous ieGeek models, but this one is much superior than the rest.
Firstly, the SD card (not supplied) installation is far easier than other models as there’s a (screwed down) panel on the underneath of the unit which provided access to the SD slot…. In some other cameras that I have had, you had to actually remove the camera casing to access to slot which if installed on your building would be very arduous… so this is a lot easier.. Point of note is that the SD card isn’t actually required as you can use the inbuilt software to watch the live feed as it happens, however, the SD will allow you to record and review at your leisure… or if your wifi goes down.
The camera can be hardwired to your network using the supplied cable (and extentions if needed) but with WiFi, then its much cleaner install…. Setting up the WiFi on the camera does actually require the camera to be hard-connected to the network and you use the inbuild software on the camera to configure the WiFi settings… very simple … first, search for available WiFi, select the correct one, entry the password, do a quick connectivity test and then save … and you’re now WifI connected and can remove the cable.
And thats all you need to do to get the camera ready ….
When it comes to physically installing, screws and plugs are supplied, as is a nice little template to allow you to drill holes in the right place… no holding in position, trying to mark the holes with a pencil…
Now, with it being a 5MP camera, the image quality is much better than most and the lens has a wider angle than most, giving a much better view of the area being monitored. You can clearly see vehicle registration numbers should tracing be required with a nice crisp image. In the video, this is me coming home in the red car.
Bottom line, much better than any other camera that I have had providing better security all round.
Bought this to replace the 720p version, i wanted sound for my hedgehog videos. This camera is improved in almost every way. You get good two way audio, a wider field of vision, a better build quality and much more functionality in the app (humanoid detection, sirens etc). I also love the SD card cover, no more taking the camera apart to fit. I do have a gripe though, there has been some cost cutting. The biggest issue is the length of the camera cable – it is half the length of the cheaper camera; it is so short I am not sure it will reach through my eaves into the loft any more. (See pic) You are going to need a junction box to fit this now (see below) The second gripe is the power supply, the cable is nowhere near the quality of the old camera. So to summarise this is still a five star camera, especially for the price but the penny pinching is really disappointing. Written by tech council engineer and top reviewer for the ie geek 720p camera.
Top tip: the box i used is this one IP66 Black Weatherproof Outdoor / External Junction Box Complete With Connector https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DHHMJOI/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_OszoFbH0E96EM
Pass the cables in one if the bottom holes, you will need to open the hole out with s Stanley knife to get the massive network connection in so you won’t be able to fit a gland. Just leave it open, water will drain. I have used the boxes like this for years without a problem.
This is the second one of these cameras that I have purchased. The image quality is great, even with night vision.
Set-up is really simple if you follow the instructions….I have read some negative reviews Where people have obviously not read the instructions properly!
The camera now has “Humanoid” motion detection which is a massive improvement on the earlier version I bought which does not have this feature. The camera sends me an alert direct to my phone every time a person is in the specified area of the camera view. The alerts are real-time which allows you to communicate directly with people through the microphone and speaker which are built in.
I have just returned from a two week break in Europe and I could check my home whenever I felt like, as long as I had 4g signal or was on WiFi.
I have 128gb SD cards in both cameras and they record about 4 weeks worth of continuous footage but you can watch live footage through the app at any time, from anywhere. There is no need for subscriptions or cloud services.
One of my cameras is about 15 metres away from my WiFi router and has never had problems connecting. However, I suppose that this depends on the quality of the WiFi router.
All-in-all, this camera is amazing for the price! It is like an alarm system for my home and it genuinely gives me peace of mind.
Easily deserves 5 star rating.
The Camera is excellent, good quality picture reasonably easy to install. One major issue is that fixed to a wall the camera can’t rotate 90 degrees left due to the antenna design.(Camera View). This was easily overcome by purchasing a “90 degree Gold Plated adapter converter RP-SMA connector Male to RP-SMA Female RF Coaxial Coax Adapter”. These adaptors are very cheap, be careful of the quality and specification. I had two that just fell apart and had to return. Once fitted the installation went perfect. The third party software for the PC/ IOS is a bit confusing. Perseverance will resolve this. So camera great, requires a bit of patience if you are installing at 90 degrees to lef
I purchased this camera as replacement of another brand as I wanted the capability to use a computer software for the monitoring…
The camera and picture, so far is great, with the limitation of it… No focus.. no rotation…etc. but OK, I was expecting this. My issue is with the worst software package that you can use to configure and monitor your recording and setup..etc. The software is “P2P IP Camera”…
This is the sort of software that used to be developed in the 90s where you have tons of bugs… crashing… continuous issues… from crashes, not saving your configurations and having to redo things every time you load it… to unable to use simple functionalities.. like adding users… adding cameras… etc.
In summary, the camera is good… PC software is awful, useless…
Great quality camera, already bought a previous version and this has better night vision. Although currently have them set up indoors so difficult through the windows. Great that you don’t have to subscribe and can do live viewing. Set up was easy, although as already had a previous camera that probably helped. Found I needed to connect directly via lan then could disconnect cable and wifi worked fine. Edit : I’ve also now found human recognition settings which have cut out the wind blown plants setting off the alarm.
I purchased two of these cameras , one for the front and one for the rear of my house, reviews looked good for these and they were right !
Comes well packaged , with the camera and a network cable , plus screws and rawl plugs for fitting , there is a mini CD behind the foam packing which has a manual an other useful info and programs on it.
First connect the camera to your router with the cable and power on. I downloaded both apps Camhi and camhi pro , I preferred the camhi pro app , so kept that one.
Set up really easy, remember to change the password for the camera so only you can access it
Once set up , disconnect the cable and it will connect via wifi
Like others I only needed the power cable through the wall , so a 10mm hole was drilled and I fitted a couple of waterproof boxes from Wickes , to store the unused wires outside on the wall ( wife didn’t even notice the boxes there).
Then it was a case of adjusting the camera to get the best position , a bit fiddly when on a ladder , but spend time doing it so your happy , the front ca,era was a bit difficult , as due to the angle i needed the aerial base hit the body , but I managed to get there in the end. Look good on the wall and feel sturdy.
Oh I forgot you will need a micro sd card to put in them , I bought 2 x 64GB cards
When set up take a look at the lovely clear picture on your phone (remember to set to HD in the app for best results). Picture very clear , two way communication if needed and so far I have good reception , even though my router is over the other side of the house the wifi works fine with the camera.
I set up email alerts but have turned it off as others have said it is a bit sensitive and in an hour I got 45 emails !!
So far very happy with the camera.
I have messed around with the PC programme (HiP2P) to adjust /view them but to be fair the app does most of it anyhow
Last thing , rear camera is mounted under the eaves which is great , front camera couldn’t be and is just on a wall , it does suffer a bit from rain getting on the lens , but thats no fault of the camera , try and fit them with something above if possible.
Think I may get one more for the side of my house !!
My second IeGeek camera. The first received a 3 star based on problems with setup but I was ready for this one.
Pros:
– Live feed is fantastic quality.
– Easy to setup (Make sure your phone clock is set to 24hr or it wont show recordings, I’m using an IPhone 6).
– Feels like good sturdy build quality.
– The ball and joint axis behind the camera worked well for those little adjustments.
– You get far more options going through Internet Explorer, recommended for in-depth changes.
– The app CamHiPro is OK for day to day reviewing.
– Great Night Vision and the IR lights are just enough to be noticed to act as a deterrent.
Cons:
– Just to let anyone who is purchasing one of these know there are two types out there packaged in exactly the same box, an old version and the new version. My two cameras were bought one week apart and I noticed I was getting extra options for the second camera (Humanoid Detection). Also they had two different Firmware versions. I contacted IeGeek to see how I go about confirming and updating to the newest Firmware as I thought this would unlock the Humanoid Detection. The reply I got back was that it was a more advanced chip and the old stock may be mixed with the new. A little disappointed as I’m sure the new chip helps out in other departments but hey I suppose I’ve gained here as it wasn’t advertised.
If you do order one I’d maybe try and ask for the revised version.
All in all I’m very happy with the two cameras and gained by getting a more advanced second. IeGeek were very helpful on the E-Mails (though even after two still haven’t confirmed or explained a firmware upgrade, completely dodged the question). Ended up working it out myself.
I recommend buying one of these as what you get for the price is fantastic, I couldn’t help but buy two.
Hoping that at some point we’ll be able to get away on holiday, we wanted a camera that would be inexpensive, simple to set up, and easy to access on our phones. This ticks all those boxes. We opted for the camera with audio and it was still way below what we thought we might have to pay for this spec of camera. The online tutorials posted by a customer was invaluable in helping with the set up as the instructions in the accompanying booklet were not too clear for me to understand. It’s only been installed for twenty four hours but we are so impressed I felt compelled to review it. There will be some tweaking to be done regarding sensitivity and resolution but 10 out of 10 so far – and we intend to buy another for an elderly relatives house, which is about as good a recommendation as you can give really.
I love these cameras. I took a chance and ordered two and I’m going to be ordering more. I’m impressed with the video quality and how easy they are to set up. I’m not using the wi fi option but have set them up to be used with Apple Home via home bridge (hoops) and they are quick and easy to configure. They are also as secure as I can make them using ethernet, changing username and password and not enabling any cloud/internet services. Great cameras. Definitely buying a few more, and might even get them for my brother!
I purchased an iegeek camera early last year and it has proved to be very reliable and user friendly so when I saw this model on offer I decided to have an additional unit.
All I can say is Wow! This unit seems to be an upgrade on the previous ones, the image is clearer the night vision is better and it’s up 67 rather than 66 so impressed that I’ve just ordered another one and a mate saw mine and ordered two !
Minor issue in that I couldn’t work out how to get it to work with Alexa but an email to the service dept got a reply with detailed instructions with in 24 hours and to be fair I emailed Sunday morning, seems there’s a different app needed so I will have a go at setting that up later.
I found the CamHipro app is far superior to the CamHi app more user friendly
.
Excellent camera for the price.
Easily installed and setup on multiple phones/tablets and desktops.
Works remotely via the internet without any need for a subscription(My main draw, service fees suck!!)
The english translation isn’t 100%, more like 99%……. Determine = Close or OK. Nothing to really worry about though.
Everything seems to work as it should do but i do have a couple of gripes.
1. Rain seems to set the alerts off unless i turn alerts off.
2. Playback isn’t the greatest when streaming over the internet, very choppy and i do have excellent internet connections on both sides. Works great while on the same wireless network as the camera. A minor issue for me.
3. Would like to have taken the unused wire off but unable to as they are moulded together. Means you end up with three ends as such, reset, network and power. Suggest a box of some sort to cover/hide them.
Other than the above i would highly recommend this camera for a lower quality need. Its not the highest resolution but it does what i need it for.
Like many people I bought this following a spate of burglaries in our road. I have it set up covering the side alley and back gate of our house. Fixing to the wall is simply three screws and a template is provided for accurate drilling. I was able to feed the mains cable into my garage.
Downloading and setting up the camera on the app is as easy as setting up an Amazon Echo and I soon had HD video streaming to my phone.
The SD card fits into a secure slot under a screw fit cover on the lower face of the camera body.
Picture quality is excellent even at night when the image is black and white.
The motion detector is very sensitive however and I’ve dialled mine down to 20% and I’m still getting too many notifications. The detection area can be manipulated to a degree.
Although this camera saves images to its SD card its most important function is to alert you via a push message that something is happening so that you can check it out. The police aren’t interested in your CCTV images no matter how encouraging they are but if you call and tell them you have a live feed of suspects on premises you should get an immediate grade response.
I found this very easy to set up. For me this was basically plug and play, enabling me to see my property on my phone when away from home. I’m fortunate in that I can position the camera so that I can see both entrances to my house, otherwise I would definitely buy a second camera. Compared to the wildlife camera I have in my garden (which is also supposed to be HD) the image quality from this camera, both day and night, is excellent. I have yet to have time to fine tune the motion sensing, as I was getting alerts triggered by a gently swaying branch from a tree near my house, but it is possible to choose the right or left half of the scene instead of the whole scene for this setting, combined with a sensitivity setting. Another useful feature is the ability to talk and listen through the camera, although you can only turn on the mic OR the speaker, not both simultaneously, so conversations are a little stuttered.
Overall though, I am very happy with this camera.
This is a great camera. The picture quality both daytime and nightime is excellent.
Fitting is a bit tricky as you either have all the cables (which appear weather proof) on the outside and only drill a small hole through (approx. 1.5cm) or it is more like a 3.5cm hole to get all the cables through the wall. If on the outside you would probably want to box them in as these include the reset and network and power cables! If the cables weren’t all the same length you could have probaby gotten away with a smaller hole (manufacturer take note).
Apps works well on both Android and Apple phones. Easy to install, set up and use.
Wifi worked well.
The recording is only approx 24hours to the SD card if recording permanently so use the motion detection to increase the time saved. There is slight ability to chose set motion area but it is quite limited and there are a lot of things which set it off at night including rain. I would like to have the option of more than 15 second default recording but it does enough and also takes up to 3 pictures.
The sensitivity setting is tricky to get right as it’s quite all or nothing so we have it set quite low. We also turn off notifications at nightime as this is constantly going off (but you could adjust for daylight and darkness if you had the time and energy to change it manually every day).
You can talk and hear through this system and works well on the wifi if in the office and not at home.
I did not like the location of the wifi antenna which means I could not seem to adjust the unit to point LEFT. The unit is very positionable and rotational but the antenna on the side (instead of perhaps the top) means I could not turn it the other way (without the small hole being on top and potential water leak path); so I had to face it to the right. This should be considered when positioning your camera. I have one outside at the front and one in the conservatory.
Great camera, hope it lasts and this review helps your decision making.
I’m using this ieGeek outdoor security camera to monitor activity in my garden. The device is very easy to set up and install. I used a weatherproof plastic box to mount the camera on, in order to house the cable tails for the reset button and the RJ 45 Ethernet connection.
The image produced in normal daylight is fine, although I suspect that the 30 meter range claimed in the spec is somewhat optimistic.
The issues that I have are when the camera switches to IR at night. I had to adjust the sensitivity setting to almost zero, as the alarm was being triggered almost continuously. I realised that it must be tiny flying insects being attracted to the IR transmitters in the camera and there’s not much that you can to about that. Having said that, the clarity of the image at night is good, so, on balance, it’s OK-ish.
One other niggle – I also have an internal camera from ieGeek that I had thought should be able to sync with the same monitoring app as the external camera. You can’t. I have to use two separate apps which is not that convenient, but workable.
Fitted a pair of these for my Sister in law over the weekend. Could not have been easier. The CamHi app needs a bit of an update in terms of modernisation and ease of use but it works perfectly.
I have the older version of this camera myself which is still 1080p and has proven invaluable for proving couriers either not delivering and on one occasion my neighbours car being rifled through.
I have got mine mounted in a soffet which is pretty high but you can see a hell of a lot of detail still. This version however is slightly improved.
Love this camera! I looked around for a long time to find one with consistent good reviews and I’m really glad I finally went with this one. I must admit I was skeptical because of the price but just shows you don’t have to pay huge prices for something really good. The picture is great and it’s so easy to set up. The only thing I would say is that the speaker is very crackly and scares the dog but I wasn’t too hung up on using this feature anyway so as not to confuse the dog when we aren’t home. All in all a very good buy!
I ordered a Wi-Fi camera and I expected to find that it only required the power connection. As it is shown in the description. However that is not correct there are 3 connectors coming from the rear of the mounting bracket which will require at least a 2 cm hole in the wall to install. This is not shown in the description. However after discussion with the company they have provided a work around for this issue using an external Junction Box. Additionally having made a temporary installation to set up and test the camera I have found it to be very effective and relatively easy to set up. The camera can be run either on Wi-Fi or direct on an Ethernet connection to your Hub / Router. The night vision quality look fine to me and the sound functions work ok. Additionally it works ok on android and seems to be ok Google chrome. It looks like it will require some time and effort to properly set up the camera functionally to make best use of its many features but I think it will be worth the time and effort in the end.
I have upgraded my review to 4 stars because of the excellent response I have received from IeGeek in resolving my initial problems. Well done to them.
On first impressions the iegeek IP camera is a nice bit of kit. Solid build easy set up and install. However fine tuning the set up doesn’t work it will not accept email addresses or any form of communication to alert the user to its activation. It records for 600 seconds constantly, the activation zone doesn’t seem to make any difference.
Communication via email with the seller has not had any response, Then for no reason it stopped working and couldn’t be rebooted or formatted to connect to the internet. No pictures nothing on the app.
Frustrating as the picture quality especially on night vision was fantastic. Crisp clear registration numbers visible, No good if it doesn’t tell you it activated and recording over it’s data within 24 hours on a 64gb SD card.
Sorry.
This was an upgrade to my 10 year old 720p camera.
Whenever I had a gripe with putting it up i.e. difficult base, lack of water proof coverings for the cable ends, I had to keep reminding myself it only cost me 52! That is cheap!
So even though it took a lot longer to install than I thought it would, the day picture quality is fantastic.
The night vision is good, only if its NOT raining. Rain generates a lot of noise, streaks in all directions.
A 128gb SD card, which is the max it can take, on my settings records for just over 8 days. At some point I may try to see if a 256gb card works in it.
Bottom line its a cheap camera that works. The mobile app is fantastic, the pc software not so good, but you can access the camera from a browser.
Brought this as a trial to up grade my 10 year cctv .not the best instructions for setting it up but got there in the end ! The camhipro app is basic but adequate and easy motion Detection Alarm to the phone is good .not that much lag . After I set the camera up decided to buy an ie geek internal camera which was not compatible with the camhipro app ( you had to use a different app sricam ) so I sent it back and brought 2 more as the first camera ! Upon Set up of 1 of these the build Quality control missed that the sd card holder was not in line with the slot of the body of the camera .needed a little tweak ,taking it apart to line it up !
Overall a good value camera with decent picture and sound and mark it down 1 star of the sd slot ! But would recommend Them !
Extremely easy to install and set up the camera . Picture quality is excellent for both night and day . I have used cameras in the past that cost 5 times as much but nowhere near the pic quality as this . The only draw back that i found was the size of the connectors , if you want to have all the wires coming inside you have to drill a 25mm hole to get the modem connector through but not a real problem if you have or know someone with the right tools . All in all a great little cam .
I am pleased with my purchase. The camera was easy to set up and the picture quality is good. Easy to operate from the App. I have not always had notifications of movement but am still getting to grips with where it needs to be positioned. Initially it seemed a little too sensitive but that is no longer the case. There is slight reflection from the glass but you can still see a decent picture. I spent quite some time researching cameras and would purchase another one of these and would recommend it. The cable to the power is quite short so I had to purchase an extension lead.
Nothing to dislike .We are extremely happy with the camera .We had vandalism to our car in July but with no evidence as to who done it we decided to install a cctv camera. Our car was vandalised again last week and were confident we would have the footage of it. And thats exactly what we found. It was at 12.30 at night and the infra red feature of the camera gave a clear picture of the culprit . The police commented that it was very good quality imagery for night images. The sound feature is very clear as you can hear the key scrapping along the car ! We recognised who it was too. He’ll be charged with the crime.. So much so we have ordered the same camera again for the other side of the house. Very easy to set up and alerts come in to my phone and I’ve installed the app on my PC too. No hesitation in recommending this camera. UPDATE I am now adding to my review to say I have now bought a 3rd camera !!! for the back of the house. I checked before installing the 2nd camera that the WIFI would work at the back of the house as the router is at the front of the house.. It does with no problem at all . So easy to add a camera to the app. I have the app on my PC too and it found the new camera automatically !! Highly recommend the camera .
Arrived in time, sturdy well made camara. Easy setup to get connected to wifi and picture on phone / tablet. Will need to figure out STMP & FTP details in order to set up email motion alerts. But shouldn’t be a problem to set up once i have the detail. Picture quality is great. Viewing angle is good and when positioned correctly captures all the field of view required. Motion detection is not great, even on low sensitivity it activates every 20 seconds on a windy day. But that can be swithched off from the app if need be. Microphone is clear when voices are heard through the phone. But cant hear anything from the camera, maybe becaue of the height distance where the camera is positioned, eitherway not much use for tw way talking, if that function exists. Picture quailty can be changed from SD to HD, the difference is clear & HD quality is great. Night vision is clear & quality is good. Overall a great little camera for the price, i will definitely buy another one.
I was pleasantly surprised by this camera. Very easy to set up and the app is very easy to use. Picture quality is very good and you can zoom quite a lot on your phone without loosing detail. I bought it to monitor pets and it does thr job perfect. I have it mounted on a wall bracket upside down, but the app let’s you rotate the image 180 degrees so it’s perfect. If anything it would be good to have an extension for this to increase the length of the power cable but this is only a minor point. Overall I really do recommend this camera and would buy another.
Pro’s:
On the whole the camera is good for the money, works well with WiFi & 3/4G.
Straight forward to set up.
Night vision is bright
Cons:
You need to drill an excessively large hole to route the cables through to inside or fit a weather proof box adjacent.
The picture isn’t HD or crisp it’s pretty blurry and when you zoom in there’s no refocusing and it distorts even more.
The motion detection has a sensitivity setting from 1-100, both my cameras are set to 12, but even this low it activates with rain / bugs, and at 11 it doesn’t activate with much.
Update:
I still stand by my above comments, but the seller has been in touch and tried to help with settings etc, but it is what it is and there’s no change.
They have however offered a full refund and the level of aftercare / service is very good. So I’ve upped my review score to 5 stars for their level of service
I have tried several indoor and outdoor cameras and I have to say this is the best one by far! Firstly, there are no ridiculous monthly charges to store your videos. You can store them in a micro SD card (which you have to buy separately). It took me less than 5 minutes to set up the camera. After that, it is just a matter of setting it up to do what you want, and you can do just about anything! You can set up the areas you want to detect movement on, you can detect sound to give you an alarm. You can set up to sound a siren (or any other sound you want) upon triggering an alarm. It can send you an alert to your phone and/or an email. It will save the videos/photos unto your SD card.Basically, it can just about do whatever you want it to. The picture and sound quality are superb! It feels sturdy and well made. Even my electrician was impressed. I honestly would pay hundreds for this camera and you don’t have to. For under 60 , you have a great outdoor camera with all the settings you could wish for and no horrid monthly charges. I cannot recommend this enough.
After a spate of car vandalism on my street I decided to try a security camera on my front garden. I chose this one for a few reasons: 1. It can use wired ethernet or wifi. 2. The supplied power adapter and lead is long enough for me. 3. The power plug will fit through a normal coax sized hole in the wall. 4. The images and video look high quality.
I set the camera up in my living room first to test the functions. At first I couldn’t get the software on my phone to connect to the camera using a wifi connection. So I used the supplied ethernet cable to plug directly into my router and it connected fine. After I set up all the configurations such as wifi settings, date and time etc. I then unplugged the ethernet and it then started using the wifi automatically.
I then moved the camera outside and after it started up it connected to my phone OK. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that I can access the camera even when I am not at home – I thought I’d have to be on wifi to do this, but it works on 4G wherever you are. The 2 way audio might come in handy too.
I used a 128GB micro SD card to give plenty of recording space, and I also set snapshots to go to an FTP server. I highly recommend this camera – unlike the grainy footage you see on TV programmes, this camera would be genuinely useful in identifying people.
This is my 3rd.iegeek up camera, the first one of a different waterproofing spec suffered from condensation misting the lens.
The last two purchases hopefully will not develop the problem!
Otherwise the cameras perform well with the occasional loss of signal, but I think this may be a router problem as the last broadband providers worked perfectly.
The mounting has a multi directional adjustment, though I would have liked more adjustment in the horizontal plain.
All this aside the cameras are good value for the money.
Great product. Very excited to get it set up. Everything I need comes in the box. The fitter said it will be quick to set up and we will get a clear image due to the quality. Nice looking camera too so it won’t be an eye sore outside my house. Hopefully it will deter anyone from doing anything bad outside my property too. Well packaged too. Thanks
Really great camera, easy to setup, connect to WiFi, scan with camera or type in code. Really great that you’re able to turn the night vision off so it can see through a window not very clearly but much clearer than using night vision and reducing glare, Also fantastic that it can utilise an auto tracker and your able to go back in time and record what has happened in a hard format.
Really simple to use and very effective for my use.
Highly recommend, great price and good quality.
My only criticism is when you allow others to utilise the functionality of the camera they’re not able to use the full features this should be an option.
What a fantastic purchase! This is my fourth camera from IeGeek. They just seem to get it better and better each time.
I am really impressed with the ease of set up and the functionality as well as the build quality and video quality. Not only does it have motion detection but it actually follows the movement so you capture the movement of the person/animal etc.
The fact that it allows you to add cloud storage is an added bonus. If you do not wish to buy into the cloud service, then this too is possible.
The playback is fabulous since it can be speeded up but also the time line can be expanded so that you can look at the video in more detail!.
I am really very impressed with the camera and would definitely recommend this product and in fact have already done so to a number of friends and family members.
Well done guys!
Whilst the USB cable is great it could be even better if it was longer – that said for my purposes it is fine.

The camera is for my home cat. Very clear at night and easy set up .
Bought this to keep an eye on the cat while we’re away. Super easy setup. Good range of view (Well over 180 degrees). Not using the SD card or cloud and still have access to many of the functions. Can use on 4g while out and turn it on/ off remotely but the app can be a bit laggy and it takes a few taps to open things. The Talk function is fun too. Also, my husband and I can both control the app if we log in under one account. It has a pin function to access camera and settings which is good piece of mind from a security perspective. Will buy a second one as it’s amazing value for money for what you get.

Well I feel this is good price for this camera, 37 and it works a treat. I bought it because I wanted to monitor the cat (see if he was up to no good). I went over a load of reviews on this camera (and similar) and they seemed to be okay. However, this had sold over 1800 items with a 5* average. Turned up the day after I ordered it from Amazon. Very easy to set up and link to my phone through the app. There is a delay of about half a second viewing the picture — but it would be petty to complain about that! I have only tested it during the day, but the reviews indicate that night vision is okay. The color picture is superb. I can speak to my cat (which is funny as he comes up close the camera and his face look massive!) The sound is brilliant and seem to work like a walkie talke . The move functions work great. It comes with a load of fixings for ceiling attachment. The usb cable /power supply is a good length. Nice bit of kit. Probably going to get another.

The first thing I wish to state for those not wishing to read through my entire review, is that this is my third ieGeek camera, and I am entirely happy with this device. I believe it to be super quality and excellent value for money, and offers a full feature functionality set that is quite hard to better at the price, and has certainly lived up to the high standard I have come to expect from my two existing ieGeek cameras.
If you are looking for a low cost, full featured, high quality internal or external security camera, I would without a doubt, certainly recommend ieGeek.
So, I wanted a third ieGeek camera, mainly for internal monitoring of my property. This model is quite simply, perfect. Setting up was a breeze with the YI IoT app, which allowed a very fast set up time, and I was able to view the image on my camera within 5 mins of opening the box.
Picture quality is excellent, with full 1080 HD resolution available (you can select SD if preferable), which is pin sharp on my iPhone in both portrait and landscape orientation. You can name the camera, and this name is displayed on the screen if required, together with the date and time.
The app offers a range of advanced features, all of which are extremely easy to use. One thing I particularly liked is the ability to move the camera viewpoint remotely using the virtual joystick in the app. Using it the camera can pan and tilt across significant angles left, right, up and down, so it is easy to adjust he camera from where you place it in its resting position to obtain the specific view angle you require. This allows the camera to be physically positioned almost anywhere, with full adjustment of the camera view from within the app. Response times for camera movement are also impressive – around 0.5s latency in movement over my home WiFi.
I am also able to view the image using 4G when I am outside my home network, useful of course for when one is not home.
Motion detection is excellent, and can be set to detect people (with Cloud service subscription), or other movement within the camera field of view as standard. In fact I had to turn down the motion detection sensitivity as the camera was detecting the small branches on the bushes outside my conservatory moving slightly in the breeze. Motion detection records short videos when motion is detected.
There is also a voice function – referred to as ‘call mode’ – with this app, not something I would ever need to use, but has enormous potential for those who would require such functionality. Interestingly, the camera also features sound detection, which is really useful if using the camera to listen for a baby cry etc.
All in all this is a first class internal security camera that I am very happy with, and would certainly recommend to anyone considering purchasing a home security camera.
I have installed it in one of my store , simple to fix just screw the plastic dice anywhere just be careful you have a power socket nearby . Supply power with the adopter and cable included . Install the app on your phone and reset the camera with the help of a pin . Make sure phone is connected to the wifi and not mobile data and you can easily search and pair the camera . The video quality is very good both in the daylight and night . The camera has an extra feature that it can follow a moving object that passes in front . I have purchased a micro sd card separately and installed it on the camera for recording . If you are looking for quality video and not cheap cameras , this is your choice.

I have bought the Iegeek security camera and have been very happy with the purchase. The camera is very quick to respond and record HI resolution images giving total peace of mind that my home is safe whilst away. Camera allows cloud storage at a cost but very effective. Having the 355 degree rotation on the camera is great. It allows me to chat to my family whilst away. Very helpful if you call them and ask what they need taking home. There is the option to use a 64gb micro drive where most others only go Up to 32gb. Would definately recommend. Picture quality in good or poor light is excellent.
Good quality camera, easy to install (5mins) with no extra expense, i rent an office space in a business centre, where i store my inventory, and for peace of mind i have been looking to install cctv in the office, which would have cost me couple of 100 pounds now cost me next to nothing, i can control everything from my phone plus has mic for 2 way communications, and provided me 360 view of office.
Does require memory card for storage or the option of registering with cloud for online storage.
Has many cool features and can’t go wrong with price and service.

This is my second iegeek camera, my other is an outdoor camera and also excellent.
This camera was just what I wanted, it works perfect through windows, with no glare and the night vision is also fab, I’ve tried it in a few places and through a window with very little light, perfect.
This camera talks you through the set up, has a motion and human detection options and was really easy to set up. I fully recommend this camera.
This is our 9th IEGEEK camera – we have bought them for our elderly parents, for our own home security and to keep an eye on our dog when we are away from the house for any length of time.
We prefer the motion sensor ones – which this one is. It is really easy to set up and connect to WiFi and offers the greatest scope for the camera and covers the whole room when motion is detected.. The sensor is excellent and sends notifications to our phones when triggered. It can be over sensitive at times, being triggered by changes in day light or a fly crossing the screen, but the sensitivity level can be altered. All in all a great camera for an affordable price. I just wish that the option of the Cloud was a more reasonable cost as some of the features don’t work unless you purchase it.

Camera arrived next day as expected from Amazon prime. This is a much better looking device that other cameras at this price range. It really does look very sleek. Setting up took only a few minutes. Download the app as shown in the picture then follow the instructions. It is really very simple and your phone even generates a QR code to update the camera. All very high tech! Once up an running the camera is very easy to use. For us, we will use it for monitoring our cats and you can see one cat very clearly in the video. This camera is unique in the range as it includes motion tracking and will follow movement around the room. The video captures are available even when the camera is offline via the cloud service. Yet another great product from iegeek. No complaints so far at this price point.
I have been overwhelmed with the ease of use and the quality of this product. Within 5 mins of opening the box, I had the camera setup and connected to the YI IOT app. The app is easy to use and allows complete control of the camera, allowing you to move the camera up, down, left right aswell as hearing the audio from the camera aswell as speaking through the speaker of the camera (although I will now use this feature as I’m using it to monitor my car, although it would be useful for monitoring pets etc).
A good feature of the app is the automatic function of the camera, where the camera will track movement and automatically follow the object. The camera also has motion detection where you can be notified through the app of any motion that has been detected.
A cloud service is also available for the camera in which recording are saved to the cloud, and can be reviewed afterwards but I’m not currently using this feature but is good for future use.
In general the product is a well build and reasonably priced camera for a wide range of purposes with clear images and built in night vision, with software for Windows, Android or iOS that is feature rich and easy to use. Would recommend 🙂

Great value for money, with really impressive performance.
Pros include:
– Able turn off night vision
– 360 view, pan and tilt function
– SD storage support
– Usb 2.0 powered (can switch out for longer lead)
– Excellent picture quality, even behind a window pane
– Robust Software App (although haven’t managed to get it working on Windows yet)
– Two way intercom facility
Cons are:
– Sneaky card with package offering free SD Card for 5* review
– Large form factor
– Annoying lag (circa 5 seconds) when streaming/reviewing video over mobile data – hoping this can be fixed with a S/W update
All in all, is an excellent camera, and very highly recommended.
I absolutely love this product. I showed it to my brother in law and he was very impressed with it so we have bought it as a gift for him too. The night vision is very clear and it is very simple to set up even for someone without much tec knowledge like me. The only quarm I have is the loud noise when you first turn on the camera which will likely wake up a little one if they are already asleep. Great value for money and brilliant customer service. I was so happy with this product I decided against buying a cheaper one for a second camera. I have not yet used motion detection setting but it is fit for the purpose we need.
Purchased this WiFi connected cctv for inside of a commercial workshop. Very easy to install on the app. Set up in about 5mins. I’ve mounted it upside down on my ceiling the software allows you to reverse the pics. Smart detection good. And image quality is superb. Cable is about 1m so can reach the nearest socket. I’ve got 3 over external iegeek cans and this is up there with quality as the other models
Well this is the camera I’ve been looking for some many others over the years to be honest it blows alm other camers out of the water its epic quality well made and very very sharp pics with vision on if u need and can also turn it off to your hearts desire I makes this camera the best on the market as u can see I am very very very happy with this camera and it works through glass aswell which most home security cameras dont have that function which is a must if u really truly want to hide it on your window sill as I have done it kind of defetes the object of having a camera that only works in the day but this one works in ever situation and even clear at night as well which is a massive plus for me and may I say its actually very stylish aswell cant say much more other than it’s an epic Camara a quick update this Camara see through the glass which most dont do that without glear its 100% the beat camara on the market at present its go into be hard to find one as good for the price I oayed it’s amazing it means u can see them but they cant see u amazing now let see who has been stealing out of my front garden am ready for them now I’ll update when I catch the cheeky baxxsrds lost all my plants form the front garden someone came and took them the day after I planted them now I be able to catch me and have evidence to show the police now so am ready and waiting amazing quality pics perfect in fact and so well built very sturdy
I have been wanting a baby monitor for months. My son is now 7 months and I needed this so I could shower and make sure he wasnt going to wake up and climb off the bed. It had to be a clear screen and no delay. I have looked at all the baby monitors with video and their price tags…and decided to give this one a go. I was really impressed. I dont record anything but stream to my phone and it’s great. A millisecond lag if any and absolutely perfect for what I needed without the ‘new baby price tag’. I would definitely recommend this item to new parents. I haven’t signed upto the subscription but have no need to at the moment. I love that I can move the camera around if he is in different areas of the bed and it’s pretty responsive. Seriously, for what I paid its Bob on!
We got this to act as a baby monitor for our upcoming delivery.
Having tested it today the picture quality is excellent and the functionality appears to be very good.
You can set individual cameras up on more than one device meaning that both me and my wife will be able to monitor.
The camera hooks up to your WiFi so I imagine the range is good, and for additional safety you can add a pin protection. It also gives the ability to take pictures and video recordings. The cloud is an additional purchase and at this time I haven’t looked into whether it’s worthwhile or not. The previous review is correct in that the manufacturers do offer you the chance of a free 32gb memory card for a 5star review.
Based on what I’ve seen so far I’d be happy to give it a five star review, once it’s no longer required as a baby monitor I’m contemplating using it as a cctv camera.
The camera arrived quick and was easy to set up, I had trouble finding the desktop application as the link in the instructions did not work but I managed to find the software on Google, unfortunately Amazon won’t let me post the link . If you want the app on android just find it on the Google Play Store. I can’t comment on Apple as I don’t use that.
Both the software on PC and on Android works well. When setting up you have to create an account so looks like the camera can be used remotely via the Internet anywhere you are located which is good. The camera has some good features, you can use the movement controls to move the camera up, down, left and right and it does respond very well. I am using the camera for my baby when she is born, the only issue with that is where to put it so currently it’s placed on a unit. There is no clip to attach to the Cot like another camera I saw but included there is screws to place it on a wall.
I tested the night vision and this works great! can see very clearly and it has 3 options for quality SD, HD and Auto which will change depending on the speed of the connection. I found in SD mode using wireless you get live footage with no delay but in HD you may get about 1-2 second delays. I noticed it shows the connection speed at the bottom right of the screen which shows in KB/s. In SD mode It shows at around 51KB/s and HD it can hover around 81KB/s , it would be good if there was a option to increase the connection speed to the camera being that my wireless and Internet can handle a lot more and this would surely stop any lag issues on HD mode, for this reason I took off one star but it’s hardly a big issue a few seconds lag. I can’t comment on using a ethernet cable as I haven’t tried that. But I am happy with the quality even in SD mode.
I haven’t used a SD card or the cloud services, though don’t see I would have any issues with that.
The app is very clean and works great, you can select a pin for security and enable motion tracking, turn on and off status light and night vision IR light. Some features are disabled unless you buy the cloud service. With that it activates some extra features like human detection and abnormal sound detection which would be used to detect for example your baby crying and notify you. For me I just want to use it so I can see my baby at all times in live mode when she is sleeping.
The camera does make a little sound when moving the camera using the arrow controls but you expect that, I would not say it’s very loud though. The beeping when setting up the camera is very loud, this happens when the camera does not have a connection to the router, but it’s only when first setting up. I haven’t had any issues with the camera losing connection upstairs from my router. Once connected it’s stable.
The camera has a option for 2 way conversation, I have tried this and it seems to work fine.
The build quality of the camera is good and it looks and works great. I can imagine this being very good for security and I might consider getting another in the future. The app allows you to connect to more than one camera and you can just select which one to view and to think security cameras with night version used to be so expensive and most were not even wireless.
Overall I’m very happy with the camera.
I’ve been looking for a wifi Camera like this for a little while now. I haven’t got a set of ladders, so I’m unable to put cctv up outside the property. This is perfect for what I needed it for. It’s able to sit on the windowsill overlooking the front drive, which is what i needed.
The Camera itself is amazing!! The 1080p really gives a good picture quality. It’s really easy to setup & download the App to be able to use your phone with it. If you want to record the footage, you can either put a micro sd card inside it or you can choose to use the Cloud Storage (subscription) there’s so many great features with this camera.. I really do recommend it!!
* The reflection you can see in the video is because it is recording through the glass. If you turn the camera away from the glass the picture quality is amazing!! *
