Bought for my grandma as peace of mind for her. Solar powered is great and keeps the battery fully charged. The motion detection can sometimes be temperamental, otherwise perfect for what she needs it for.
day time it’s great, but not happy night time as when gets wet we get a foggy picture till I wipe it in the morning or the sun dries it
it’s at night I need it more so going to have to build a box round it I think
Installed in back garden on the wall. Motion picked up 25 feet easily. Using the iegeek app but can also use cloud edge. Alerts sent immediately. Good picture quality. Wifi works even though the camera is 60 feet from the router. False alarms occur when raining and sun light levels change. Night vision enhanced with camera light. I would prefer a magnet connection rather than this screw on version because it would simplify removal for charging.
Very satisfied overall.
I bought 2 of these cameras, one to use overlooking the back garden and one to use overlooking the side passage to my house. Very easy to set up and link to the Wi Fi etc; night vision is great, and the notifications are quickly sent to my iPhone.
Overall, I’m very pleased with these cameras and will feel confident when I go on holidays etc.
Donlad3
Nothing to dislike about this solar panel it’s simple to install the angle can easily be adjusted or repositioned it also works on all the types of iegeek battery cameras I have
Excellent product
Thanks iegeek
I bought this camera for security purposes on my boat and it has exceeded expectations. Logging on is simple and quicker than similar CCTV systems I have used, such as Arlo or Hive, and the clarity of the picture is very good. The only reservation I have is that the mount, being plastic, may turn out to be a little flimsy. I may well purchase another camera to complement the system. The camera is excellent quality for the price.
I purchased this to specifically monitor the area around my driveway where my car is parked, as I already have a couple of existing cameras for general coverage. I needed a camera that had GOOD motion detection with minimal false alarms. It took a couple of days to tweak this one, however this camera has a comprehensive settings menu which allows you to modify the alert area, alert sensitivity, flick between the over cautious normal “movement” alerts to intelligent “human” movement alerts, both of which have a sliding scale to boot. The alerts and alarm menus on the app have a large range of modifications let you adjust the sensitivity of the camera to your requirements. Even has a time window in case you don’t want any alarms whilst you are having a nap or something!). The image quality is top notch, and night vision resolution is very good (the alert has an option of activating the built in spotlight, which switches the video to full colour at night). If the camera has alarm alerts and motion tracking on 24/7 this will understandably drain the battery relatively quick. However, I have alarms and alerts turned off during the daytime and only activate it at night. Which preserves battery life massively. I am getting a good few weeks out of it now. Also – due to an issue with fitting the original bracket I needed to get in touch with customer services – and I can confirm, the customer service is exceptional. Buy one. You can’t go wrong for the price!
The camera was easy to set up via the app, couldn’t be simpler to install, camera quality, day and night is perfect, Sensor light and sound is a great feature. Going to purchase a second one for our back garden. Very impressed
I am pleased with camera. It is my second. So far the battery has a good life but early days. Good installation instructions. We don’t have good internet here (and it is wireless) which may account for the slight delay picking up motion. (It is an improvement on the last camera I tried which didn’t catch people until they were leaving the front door) Picture quality is good when taken close up but lacks definition when taken from further away and is pixelated when enlarging the image, especially in low light. Again, that might be poor signal strength.
On the whole it works well enough for me to have purchased two.
Am genuinely impressed with this camera, No subscription unlike competitors.,fantastic picture quality.
Sd card included in camera so no loss of recording if thief uses blocking WiFi signal software.
For the price it packed full of features and you don’t need to pay a subscription.
Well impressed. Thank you.
Will be ordering the I geek doorbell to replace the ring one .
Having bought several ie geek cameras and doorbells, that all had to be drilled into the wall for electric connection, this handy solar panel saves all that hassle, easy to set up. Looks good and will save on electricity
Really happy with my purchase
This solar charging panel is very simple to connect (uses a USB micro connector). It really is just plug and go. I am using it to charge an ieGeek door bell and it provides plenty of charge to do that – even on a cloudy day. Highly recommend.
It can be used to charge other devices as well including phones.
It would be nice if for this solo panel a charging adapter could be added to the package so people could charge other devices as well.
I could find any fault…it is working even on cloudy days and low light.
I have battery operated cctv and was looking some solar panel to charge cctv 24 hrs. I bought this solar panel and found very useful. CCTV camera battery is now 100% charged always and need not to worry of charging. Installation is very easy and quick per instructions provided. Only make-sure its panel shall face direct sun light and no obstruction to have better result. Very happy with purchase and will buy again.
I got this Because I have many of their battery powered cameras are fine solar panel is easy to install very long wire and it comes with the mount screws and the panel itself I find it really lightweight easy to install save lot time too for charging up the camera with the solar panel plug and play charger set up then all you have to do is leave it and let it does its job says a lot and electricity is well with you getting that free from the sun and a good Price too highly recommend this
Having only had this for a very short time, I can day it works well but I will add to the review as time goes on. My biggest surprise Wass that it is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, I think the picture of it made it appear bigger than it is. This is a good thing. It was very easy to set up, couldn’t be easier actually, I fixed it nearby my camera and connected rhe USB cable. It has quite a long cable, which can be tucked behind the device if it’s near to the camera like mine is. Happy once again with iegeek, would recommend.
Having had a disappointing experience with a previous camera from a different company, I was wary of buying another battery/Wi-Fi outdoor camera. But, based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews posted here, I decided to take the plunge. I have to say I am very impressed with this camera. It has a small, unobtrusive profile, but very effective motion detection and good picture quality. Night vision is effective, using the strobe function flips the image from black and white to colour almost instantaneously. It is too early to comment on battery life but the addition of a solar panel may be well worth considering. As things stand, looking good.
Excellent little camera easy to install and manage
Would recommend that you by a power adapter for this as then you can just set and forget it.
The app needs a little work but does a reasonable UI although I have used better.
Night vision motion It’s excellent the The quality is perfect I bought 2 comes with light for night viewing trust me everyone buy it u will not regret it thanks
Really really great purchase I’m not very technical but I managed setting this up fine and the quality is great will be buying another one for the front of my house cheers ie geek
Easy set up, easy app to understand and adjust if you need to. Alerts are quick, and live video is also excellent. For the money, I cannot believe you would find a better security camerabrilliant!
Camera is easy to connect and set up, also easy to use. Gives really good motion detection and night vision with the added benefit of being able to switch on a light as well. Excellent value for money.
Bought this to keep an eye on my dog when I am at work. Great item. You can speak through it and hear any noise in the area.
This system is great , it has a good quality 2k camera and a solar panel charge to keep your batery topped up. I like the fact that you don’t need to hardwire this to your home power supply, my one niggle is digital zoom which makes shots pixcelised and muddy, however, you can overcome this issue by taking a snapshot of your 2k camera footage and enlarging or enhancing on your photo software. The system is very good value for money and we’ll worth the price.
Great camera for the area I needed one. Very smart camera. Great connection and battery life. I set one up first to get a feel for it. I was impressed, so I set the second one up. Love not having to run wires. Highly recommended. Good comms with product support upon registering for extended warranty.
This camera I installed to cover our back garden.
Very easy to add to the App & set up. I like the fact you are able to name the cameras so when you get a notification on your phone, you know which camera has been triggered.
You can also set the sensitivity which means when you hang washing out in the garden it doesn’t set the camera off.
The communication with the ieGeek team is really good too.
Highly recommend.
Bought this as a security measure as I’ve moved into a rental property and forced to park a works van and motorbike on the street.
As an electrician I’ve installed many hardwired systems from hikvision, Ring and some of the more budget brands but this has a pretty compelling price point for the level of quality and features.
Night vision is good (black and white IR) and I like the way it has customisable settings. Mine is set so a light appears when motion is detected on night vision. Alerting the person that they’re being recorded and providing a colour recording of them.
Awesome camera with recording capability. I’m likely going to buy a solar panel just to boost the battery life a bit more as my settings are awful for battery economy. (Long recording times, high set sensitivity, high quality recording etc.)
Overall very impressed.
After a spate of robberies in an area of elderly residents living in bungalows, we wanted a quick efficient installation to deter the suspects. My missus wanted a camera that would emit a sound if humans are detected at night. I found these ieGeek wireless battery camera’s… they were easy to install (without any wires) and configure, and I was able to set up times when they would switch a light on and emit an alarm when humans are detected. I have full control of the camera’s using Cloudedge software on my phone. Currently I have three ZS-GQ1 cameras installed on my bungalow and may increase the numbers over time.
These are great little cameras that are easy to use and superb quality for the price. I have 4. Whilst they seem to be very reliable cameras, I had a fault with one (just bad luck). I contacted the seller (ieGeek) and they were just brilliant in their response – a few technical checks to see if was operator error! And then a no quibble replacement. Fabulous customer service. Highly recommend products and the company.
The app is quite good, it notifies you on every movement happening around and also starts to record when a person is spotted. Exactly what I needed it for. Also the angle is quite wide, it covers a lot.Battery life is good as well but would recommend getting the solar panel to save u the headache of charging it. Night vision is spot on, you can even read number plates from over 15m away, also would say the motion sensor is higher than advertised. Very happy with my purchase so far.
Good clear picture during the day but not great night vision. Easy enough to connect to phone after Googling.
Ok product for price but don’t rely on it during the nigh
I’m really impressed with these security cameras and I’ve also got the video doorbell. Clear picture, good night vision. You get everything you need to get started no disappointments or realising there is more items to order before it can be used . Good alerts to phone and facility to turn it off at certain times when you’re home and don’t want to trigger your alerts. If you spot someone lurking you can trigger an alarm from the app – it’s not very loud but I imagine it will be enough to shock an intruder. You can also put a light on them if they come snooping about at night. This was easier than the doorbell to get set up but as it was my second item of the IeGeek range I was already accustomed to the app.
The camera is adequate for the job, night vision is good, motion detection is good the only problem is the battery life, its currently running at 1 week to 2 weeks, its currently needs to be recharged for the second time this month.
It takes a minimum 5 hours to charge, so it’s off line during this period.
My camera came on time and was boxed with everything i needed inside. Downloaded the app and tried to connect to my wifi. I tried and tried without any luck. I am only writing this review as i returned the camera because i could not connect with my 5g wifi and i had my money returned within 4 days. After i received my refund, i found a way to temporarily change your wifi setting from 5g to 2.4g or whatever it says. You can find the settings or speak with your wifi provider and they will show you how. Once you connect the camera you can either leave the wifi at 2.4g or change it back to 5g. I will buy the camera again but this time be able to connect and that is why i could not comment on the picture quality etc, because i never got the chance to connect the camera.
After some local vandalism, I decided I needed to get a security camera for the house. I was very pleased with the quality of the image, the clear sound, and the ability to talk from the camera with an intercom. The app is very good, and very easy to use. Its very reassuring to be able to see what is going on when away from, or to look back at the recordings from the day to see what has happened. Knowing someone with the model before this, an extra with this model is that there is a siren option, to frighten away someone who may be up to something. A very good camera and overall experience, I highly recommend it.
I have purchased 2 of these units – One with the solar panel and one on its own to deal with issues of theft inside my house. While I had an issue with connecting to the internet I was told that my camera signal was too weak and so it could cut off – you can check this in the app.
Unfortunately for me one of the Cameras broke and stopped working after some time and I was very upset ! I could not turn the camera on and so complain about the service here warning others not to use it. I was promptly contacted by the makers and told sorry for the issues I had experienced and offered a full refund for the unit that stopped working. Rather than the refund, it was their willingness to listen to my complaints as an actual human being not just as a customer- they empathised with the seriousness of it breaking and also took my advice in regards to how they could make the product better and for that reason, I am updating my review.
In all fairness to them, the other camera is working so the one I had must have been defective but that is now being refunded even after the return period.
I use this camera to take video and photos of wildlife in my garden . The quality of the shots is superb either night or day .
The camera is completely controlled by my IPhone , images can be saved directly to my phone or stored on a micro sd card in the camera.
There are various options for detecting motion and alarm settings.
The ieGeek service is excellent, replying to my queries in a short space of time
I use this for security camera for my birds aviary. Motion detection is great and changeable. Night vision works great too. The battery life on this camera is great, often getting between 3 to 4 weeks before having to recharge which is incredible (I also have a different model entirely which battery lasts only for a week max). So overall I’m impressed with this camera overall! Would definitely recommend. Sends out warning to you when motion detects and takes videos of these events.
Initially this camera seemed to work well. My one niggle at first was that it didn’t work with Alexa. The doorbell which I purchased at the same time worked well and the app worked fine too so I overlooked the lack of compatibility. However, we noticed that we had to charge up both devices incredibly frequently. That worked fine for the doorbell, though it’s a pain having to take it down to charge so much. Last time we did so, this camera would not switch back on. We only bought it in July! Contacted iegeek who sent an email listing several steps to try to restore it. My husband followed all the steps to no avail, so we sent them another email explaining that no matter what we did, the device simply would not switch back on. This morning I had a reply from them with a huge list of things to try to reset it. It involved Micro SD cards and readers, using a computer, saving files onto the SD card but having to name them exactly what the email said, and numerous other steps. My husband and I are both quite technically savvy so we could have probably done this, but to any buyer who isn’t good with computers the instructions would have been impossible to follow. I’m chalking this one up to experience and purchasing units from a more well known doorbell camera company. This camera hasn’t even lasted six months, so even IF we could be bothered following all their steps, who the heck knows how long it will last so moving on now! Please think very carefully before purchasing.
I am a great fan of IeGeek stuff so decided to yet again buy a smaller camera to face the front of my house. I opted for this version as it was indoor or outdoor and rechargeable (which on my other IeGeek camera I recharge every 3 months)
It was installed along with my other cameras on the cloud edge App which is very comprehensive in design and ability to access your live feeds. The quality in SD or HD is excellent and what I am impressed with is my camera is set in a tree! about 20 metres from my wifi router and the signal is brilliant.
For the price it’s a no brainer, you can set the camera to send you alerts 24hrs a day or custom your times on the app. It tells you your battery charge and there is an option to buy it with a solar panel which I have on my other camera from ieGeek and that is an added feature that is well worth considering.
Finally night mode, clear visibility and picks up moving objects very well. The level of detection can be adjusted according to how sensitive you want it to be.
So to summarise it’s a great bit of kit that won’t disappoi
It is my third camera from this company. All of them work fine, I’ve joined them together in one app.
I would recommend to buy iCloud instead SD card as it is more reliable in the long term just in case.
Although it may not quite be photography quality, it is certainly enough to see clearly outside and inside.
It had a fantastic motion sensor and great night vision. The only con is that I can’t see reg plates of the car from a distance of around 20m.but it is not an issue.
Key points are –
* Sleek design, more compact than the regular low cost CCTV cameras.
* Instruction manual is in good sized text, readable and quite extensive.
* Rechargeable Battery at about 6000mah which means camera can run independently of the solar panel, so I can place the camera anywhere as well as in a fixed location with the solar panel.
* The solar panel is 3 watts and delivers 5 volts which converts to 600 mah. That means if it operated at the full rating it would take 7 hours of sunshine to fully charge the cameras battery. Though at best expect 1/4 that during the summer, so about 50% charge per sunny day, the panel comes with a 3 metre cable.
* The battery is said to last 3-4 months on 15 activations per day which means the solar panel should be sufficient to keep the battery topped up for most of the year.
* The camera takes a microsd card accessed from the back bottom of camera under a rubber portal i.e. no screws, same for the USB charging port, The battery needs charging for about 6 hours before first use, any USB phone charger will do, red LED light goes off when charged.
* To use the camera I downloaded an app onto my smartphone, registered with my email account and then turned the camera on and point to a QR code generated by the App on the phone. From there all the settings are managed from the phone app over wifi such as motion detection, including accessing footage stored on the microsd card and to for a live view. The camera is fairly straightforward to setup, just followed the steps in the manual.
* The picture quality is good inline with Full HD expectations. Also has built in mic and speaker.
Overall I am happy with the purchase as the camera can also be used standalone from the solar panel, so can I easily move it around anytime, I want to cover a specific area for a specific reason.
Can’t fault this high definition iGeek security camera. It is superb !
I found it very easy to set up, especially not having to run a power supply to it.
After fully charging the camera battery overnight, I fitted the camera at the bottom of my garden thinking the WiFi would be well out of range but no it was okay and it worked flawlessly.
The picture can be set to SD or HD without degradation.
Top camera and well worth the money and highly recommended especially with its solar panel to keep the battery charged
Security Anywhere
At first opening it is obvious that the ieGeek Wireless Security Camera is a high quality product.
Right out of the box you can feel the solid construction and tell that this is a very well made camera and equally high quality solar panel.
The whole camera is very sleek and compact enabling it to be very discreetly mounted to ensure maximum peace of mind that any necessary images will be captured easily.
The real plus for this camera is that, once installed, it does not require any connection to mains electricity or wired network and therefore is completely independent and able to be installed anywhere within wireless reach of a router.
This makes it perfect for outbuildings and storage areas that otherwise would be difficult to monitor and also ideal for installing in rented property or other buildings where construction work to run cables may not be permitted.
The camera is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation and as the supplied solar panel comes with a fitted 3m power lead, it can easily reach from outdoors to inside if required.
The camera is very quick and easy to configure and connect to the network, the whole process taking less than 15 minutes including a download of the app and an update of the camera’s internal software all which happened automatically.
The image quality is superb, capturing very detailed images in both daylight and darkness.
The app can be loaded onto an IOS or Android device. I do not have experience of Android but the IOS version is excellent and I can see no reason to believe both versions would not provide the same versatile control.
The camera and solar panel both come with mounting hardware that allows for full adjustment of both the camera placement to provide the best coverage and the solar panel to capture the best amount of light.
The camera has an in-built battery to cater for periods when the solar panel is not active and the life of this battery is excellent leaving no fear that the camera would fail overnight.
All in this is a very impressive camera and represents excellent value for money.
Got this to cover my front door and seems good hd quality pictures and video the night vision is good for the price. The app is easy to use and the camera is easy to setup just scan the barcode and your away the camera mout could be a better quality .as for the solar panel it is good quality and keeps the camera chaged well with out having to take it down to charge every time so overall pleased with the price and quality
After struggling with the barely readable manual. And in fact photocopying it to reprint it on A4 paper I found that to make it work I needed to buy Micro Card to store the videos etc and also another bit of equipment that I had no idea what it was for. The only good thing about it was it’s size which was very neat and it would have been easy to fix to walls etc. I sent it back as I didn’t have the knowledge to purchase the extra bits which I felt should have been included anyway.
23 SEPTEMBER
I DID NOT REALISE THERE WAS A COMMENT ON THE FACT THAT NO SD CARD WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND SO MY COMMENTS WERE INACCURATE. CAN’T REMEMBER WHAT THE OTHER PIECE OF EQUiPMENT WAS BUT SUSPECT THAT WAS MENTIOnED IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AS WELL. PROVES TO ME YOU MUST READ THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY. MY APOLOGIES TO THE COMPANY
Having had quite a few ieGeek items, after taking the plunge a few years ago, I wanted a camera for inside of an outhouse, with good sunlight I decided to purchase this camera.
Initial thoughts were, a well packed box, and the camera being alot smaller than the normal security cameras.
Setup with the cloud edge app was very simple, download app, startup camera, follow on screen commands and away you go. Utilising the camera to read a code off your phone.
Picture quality is as expected with ieGeek camera, Sharpe and clear, zoom is never the greatest, but can’t complain in the areas I will be using it.
– This camera is similar to the doorbell system where it is set to trigger with movement, and not recording all the time. I have found that the trigger mechanism is a little slow to respond and can get 1-2 steps closer before it records the video and takes the photos.
Sound quality via the rear speaker is clear even in windy/wet weather. But does pick up alot of background noise, will adjust the input volume and hopefully fix this.
Nighvision is clear, where it is positioned i get use of a security light, but without it on, i still have a clear view of inside of the shed, and have no concerns about the quality.
Overall I am impressed with with cameras, sleek design and quality build, the camera bracket is simple to attach, requiring 3 screws to mount, excellent quality solar panel to position discretely, and never have to worry about charging it again. Memory card added of 32gb which is more than enough with the small amount of moment recording it will use. I do believe it will go upto 128gb, but not needed in my case.
If your looking for your first IP camera, this is a great quality introduction, value for money and quality assured. If your like me, already happy with ieGeek quality and standard this will fit right In with your additional security system.
This camera is fantastic. For the money and quality. Solid and heavy duty case.
Very easy to use app and quality interaction.
I’m trying to think of a down side but it would be hard to.
I have 5 iegeek cameras now and all have been superb. I think the new app works a lot better than the older one and the control and quality is superb.
The pictures speak for themselves. 100% recommend this.
Edit: now 2 weeks with this camera operating, superb piece of equipment. The charger has now settled at 100% battery. With this being Scotland I’m sure there may be a few issues as winter sets in and the sun’s time in the sky become less and less to the point when it’s only in the sky 6 hours or so. But, at present this is a superb piece of equipment.
Edit… Now into November and the camera has remained 100% and is truly an amazing value for money camera
I must say that this is a good camera. It’s affordable and doesn’t need subscriptions. The night vision is ok ish and overall performance of the app is good. Battery life however is not very good. I must say I have contemplated sending it back. Even though I’ve got a solar charger i still have to take the camera off every week or so to charge.
Edit: I’ve realised the battery was draining only because camera was picking up more than 100 notifications due to where it was attached and also the WiFi connection was low. After all these changes, it’s working well now. So fingers crossed.
Excellent, affordable camera.
I ordered one to keep an eye on the front garden and car, (trouble from local yoofs), It was very easy to set up, once you download the app, Picture quality was vey clear, and the app was quite intuitive. I was so impressed I ordered another one for the back garden.
One thing of note, it is advisable to use the power saving settings, I didn’t and the battery warning came up after a week.
The only problem I can see., is the security of the camera it’s self, because it needs to be removed to enable it to be charged, I suppose anyone could remove it.
NB the second camera has developed a buzzing noise when watching live feed, also the motion detector is getting triggered to easily ( cats, rain and swaying branches) I’ll turn down the sensitivity, but I didn;t think the camera triggered, unless it saw something human shaped.
This is a nice little camera. I managed to set it up with my wifi hub though I am not that experienced with technology. It wasn’t located outside because I have builders working on the exterior walls so I put the camera in an upstairs bedroom. It is very addictive watching the movements on my phone. Night vision wasn’t great because the camera reflected off the window. I had intended to fix the item on outside of house to receive better images day and night but its battery ran down and I thought it would be a problem once it was permanently fixed. Regretfully I returned the item but can now see that I should have contacted the supplier for help.
An amazing camera.
I brought this camera to cover my stable.
It works perfect with a mifi as well as WiFi
Picture is clear as day
The night vison is fabulous
It has a good notifications, you can replay the last few days. Simple to work
The pairing wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. But once paired it’s great.
You can see how much charge the camera has from the app on your phone.
I have it running 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And it’s streaming a moving object. So the battery lasts about 7 days
Its a shame that you can’t pair with alexa.
But as long as you have a good phone it works perfect.
It picks up all sound I haven’t managed to get intercom to work yet but I am sure it will, you can record from it as well. And save to your phone.
You can not bet this camera. Esp if you have a sick horse no electricity at the stables. It will run perfect of a pay as you go mifi box.
I bought two of these cameras and am really pleased with them. I have been looking for cameras that are battery powered (as I need to move them about) and had on-camera storage (as I’m too mean to pay for cloud storage). This camera has up to 128GB storage using an SD-Card (not supplied) AND has a cloud storage option as well.
I have to admit I am probably not a typical user of the camera as I don’t use it for Security purposes but for wildlife videos. We have a number of Hedgehog Houses around the garden and we keep an eye on these with these cameras. There are two mounts provided in the box which look rugged enough but I use them on photographic tripods instead (hence the need for the batteries).
I’ve attached a video showing the use of the cameras at night and you can see the picture quality is really good. You download the videos remotely from the Cloudedge App as long as the cameras are in range of your wifi. This seems to work well enough as one of the locations requires the wifi signal to pass through one internal wall, one internal floor, one external wall and two sides of a stone built garage and is still picked up by the camera.
The lenses are fairly wide angle and probably better for security than wildlife photography but it suits my purposes. Recharging is through a USB connection in the back of the camera which is covered by a waterproof cover.
Cloudedge (available on Android and IOS) is the only software that the camera will work with and I have found it to be a little idiosyncratic in the past but have now mastered controlling the cameras and downloading the videos. Customer service were very quick and responsive to my slightly odd questions.
Again I am not a typical user as I download lots of videos everyday while people using the camera for security purposes might download them only when they have suffered an ‘incident’.
So I recommend this camera if you’re after a battery camera and don’t want to pay a monthly subscription to be able to access your videos.
I’ve had this camera for just over a year now, and have been very pleased with the quality and build of the device. The setup instructions are a little convoluted, but once understood are simple to install and operate. The picture quality is surprisingly good. However, be aware that internet lag means that none of these cameras will give you real time alarms. A caller is likely to be back out the gate before your phone bleeps. Similarly, the lag in the talk function makes a conversation difficult! I was very impressed with the response from iGeek when I had questions. Email answerers usually within the day.
Definitely recommend this. Cannot blame iGeek for my internet speed!!
I was looking for a wireless camera to point directly onto my car and I came across this decent camera for a great price. Setup was super easy. Charge it for the first time and place it where you need. Angling the camera was easy as it has a gimbal fixture, so you can rotate it easily. From the time I charged it for the first time and to the point of the second charge was 5 months apart! This is fantastic in itself! You download an app, link it and voila, you are all set up. What I love about this camera is the fact its low maintenance, snappy because each time someone comes near my car, it sends a notification to my mobile or tablet immediately (trust me I tested it over and over because I love my car so much) The night vision is excellent, you can select the HD mode which gives you a clear and crystal view of surroundings. I set mine on HD since the first day and 5 months later had to charge it! You will need to get an SD card to store data, or you can cloud it, whatever your budget it suited. So, for me, this was a very successful buy. For the price, convenience, user friendliness, I would highly recommend. Last point, I had some queries from the seller, and they responded within a decent time and very helpful. I think they really want to succeed, so you can buy with confidence.
Installation was straight forward. Charged camera as instructed. Fitted bracket to wall, using screws supplied. Installed App on my iPhone, and followed set-up video instructions in the App to set up camera and connect to my WifI network, all very simple and done in ten minutes. Experimented with Motion detection sensitivity to eliminate passing traffic from triggering alert. Found setting of 4 (range 1-10) gave best results. Very happy with angle of coverage, and, quality of video, both day and night. Battery appears to use about 1% per day typically, so, I anticipate recharge every 80 days or so. Perhaps, better, since I have been “playing” with the camera (as you do).
This is a excellent camera very well made and super clear picture day and night, easy to set up, the battery lasts very well on a single charge, I added the ice geek solar panel and this is also excellent quality
The camera runs on the cloud app which is a free app, it takes excellent photos and videos that can be stored on the micro side card
The camera is well worth its money I am very impressed with it and can highly recommended it, just to finish it was also very simple to get up and running.
Set up was easy with the app. Have tested inside so far and night vision seems outstanding as well as the motion detection. I have an sd card arriving later today before I put it up outside. Will update review once I have it outside for a week but so far no complaints!
*UPDATE*
Knocked a star off after a week as alerts stop coming through after a day or so and only fix is a restart. Luckily it still seems to be capturing footage, just not alerts. Iegeek have been good via email and are looking to fix this so fingers crossed this will be soon.

Update 2. The new firmware has resolved the notification issue 🙂 back to 5 stars!
I’ve now had this neat little device for several days. It’s installed outside to monitor the back yard and and also our car parked on the street. I purchased the camera after our other car was broken into, so hopefully this will be a deterrent as well as capturing any more suspicious activities.
First impressions are very good. It’s a solidly built device (smaller than I’d expected) and so far the waterproofing seems to be good as it’s poured with rain pretty much constantly since I installed it. A Baptism of Water! Video and snapshot quality is good, especially on HD and the PIR also seems to work well. Night vision is also pretty good. Note however that beyond several metres you won’t really see details of e.g. a person’s face as far as I can tell. Battery level hasn’t moved from ‘full’ as yet which is very good so far, but note you can’t really see battery %, just 4 bars on a battery icon. One point to note you do need to give the camera a good charge before use. You’ll see the little LED next to the USB port turn blue when it’s charged. Took me about 10 hours.
I have an SD card installed and the camera wakes up on PIR and saves the video to the card – and, if you have notifications enabled, pushes an alert to your phone. On mid-sensitivity, I’m getting c10 alerts / day, but obviously this will depend on the activity levels in the area where you install it. The ‘wake up’ can perhaps be a little slow as I think a couple of seconds tends to elapse between PIR activation and the video starting, so you may miss some things. PIR sensitivity and recording times, etc. can all be configured though via the CloudEdge app.
I’m giving the product 4 rather than 5 stars mainly because of some slight usability issues with the CloudEdge app. Note that this has also recently been updated so the functionality is a bit different (better in most respects) than what’s described in the manual. My main gripe is that navigation and data management of the videos, etc. is a bit clunky and hard to understand. For example, there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to just download the stored videos to the phone – you have to replay them and press ‘record’ while you’re doing that which then allows them to be saved to the camera roll. Also, it can be a bit confusing navigating between the ‘device’ and ‘messages’ menus for what’s essentially the same data. I’m sure a lot of this could be fixed though in a future version of the app – would also be nice if it could work with e.g. Alexa.
But those points aside, I don’t think you will be at all disappointed with the camera, especially given its attractive price. The seller has also been pro-active since my purchase with start-up hints e-mail, etc.
Easy install, clear pictures live or recorded. Added security to our front door/garden for peace of mind. Internet speed of 60mps used.
Update, this item works. It takes a little fettling to get the maximum view to battery life, but this is personal requirement. I set the camera up with a 128GB card, more then enough! I have yet to try the solar panel charger as a “gift”, but preferred this over a free SD card. HD pictures are colour during the day, black and white at night, and with a good picture/review. SD is also ok, but a lesser optical view, though battery life is extended.
Very good camera for the price. The motion detection can be a bit patchy. For example the neighbours child, jumped into the garden to get his ball and the camera didn’t capture him at all. Harmless event but if it had of been someone trespassing, it would have been worse. People are also at our front door sometimes before the camera detects them. But other times it picks up people walking by on the street. Seems a little inconsistent. The night vision is good and the picture quality excellent. There is a delay of around 30seconds between the camera and the app so not much point in using the intercom because the person has already left.
*UPDATE* having had the camera for a good length of time now, we have found you can’t set the times for when you want the motion detection, especially at night time, as it won’t allow a late time to an early time which really isn’t helpful, I think the app could be better modified to allow this as it is at night time that we need the motion detection ideally. We’ve also found that the metal holder will eventually rust and then not hold the camera up which we are experiencing now, we didn’t use the metal ball, but it would be good if we were able to purchase replacement holders otherwise.
Old review bellow:
Battery life is still reasonably good can’t complain and overall they are good cameras but there’s needs to be some updates to the app and alterations to the kind of holder it has, metal maybe isn’t the best for the UK.
Really good camera, we actually have 2 and they last really well, one of them we have to charge every month but that because unfortunately it faces a high traffic area at the front of the house where our drive way is, for one a month to charge isn’t so bad.
Good impressions:
The Packaging of the camera is neat and clean, the Instructions were simple to use.
The quality of the product is good, well made and it fells like a well made camera.
I like the fact it comes with dual installation either magnetic or screw in mode. I went for screwing it to my canopy to make it a bit harder to anyone who might try to steal it.
The night mode is high quality as you can see the image and day mode is good as well.
The application is simple and easy to use.
Other useful features that might come handy are the intercom functionality which I tested and voice is so clear.
You can take screenshot instantly and trigger the camera to record videos.
I have enable motion detection at all times to ensure I get a clear shot in case someone might try to snatch it.
Potential improvements:
Own device Safety: It would be ideal if the camera holder had a thick cover so people didn’t see it was just mounted on the holder or if it came with an automatic alarm for anyone tampering with it.
PIR:Description says there is a setting to detect human vs object. Not had enough time to test this functionality at the moment but that would be very useful as at the moment it has detect all vehicles and people that passed my road luckily is a culc de sac.
Over all impression for the camera are excellent, I would recommend for anyone looking for wireless camera under 80.
We bought two of these cameras to protect the front and back of our property. Looking at the reviews here helped us make our choice. The reviews are right, they’re great wee cameras. I was worried they would pick up cars, people or animals going past, and I’d end up getting notifications all the time, but it’s not. It’s great, it’s only sending us a notification when someone is approaching or directly on our property. Theres different settings for you to choose from, so you can set it depending on your own conditions. It was really easy to set up, the app is easy to use and the instructions to share the cameras with other users in our home, through the app were easy to understand. The picture quality, considering the inexpensive cost of the cameras, is brilliant, I really have nothing bad to say about them.
UN-boxed and rushed into getting it working . I made the mistake of thinking after I had downloaded the app that the camera would load up on WiFi.
No
CONNECTING the Ethernet cable[FIRST JOB} success.
I had no plugs left in the router so I already had a powered splitter that I used just while I got this camera working. I didn’t want to affect my IP cameras addresses ?I used an internal house camera port to join too. Then unplugged .
Massive problems on e-mail to get g-mail too load up -still not achieved yet — Authorized Code ? The manual says Ie geek technical will help.
I loaded up with Hotmail -success. Eventually.Eventually.
Ive got 4k[darkfighters] and 1080p cameras including all the types of apps that show up on i-phone .
To the point
The e mail side was a pain to set up
HOWEVER
The live pictures on the app were the best i’ve seen on a phone
The e-mailed alarm pictures were out of this world[Better than any of the 4k email pictures or any of the HD ones, that I’ve already got]..Technically ? How ,I would’t have a clue.
Even blowing up the live and e-mailed picture,a bit at a time ,they were fantastic.
I’ve not set up any thing else other than the alarm. So I cannot comment on any thing else. Ive still to try the memory card, and recording system as well.
The camera looks well made . I think if the manual was more ,user friendly,It would make life easer.I had already bought an extension for the power cable,so before you buy this camera see if you need a longer cable ,so you’ve got it when fitting the camera up.
If this camera had darkfighter capabilities it would be untouchable with the apps.
Time will tell, but it looks GOOD to me.
My friend has bought two ,so we will see in the long term.
Value for money-yes I think so.
I brought this just a few days ago and so far am well impressed with it. I had to fit it a bit lower than I would have liked because I have to be able to remove it for recharging. But as you can see by the photos it still covers my back garden it’s great that it does not pick up animals or swaying trees. The night vision is superb and really shows my garden up well and it is fascinating to see how many flying creatures are around at night time !! Right now I am very pleased with this camera indeed and to have no electrical leads needing to be brought into the house is a real bonus. All in all a brilliant outdoor battery security camera.
if you want a camera to view in HD, also record 24/7, view away from home, have night vision, sound, microphone, WiFi transmission and available PC software and Andriod/Apple apps then BUY THIS.
I’ve purchased ieGeek products before and they haven’t let me down, this camera is the same, top quality stuff. In the box you have the camera, power supply, allen key, screws, wall plugs, ethernet cable and the manual. I suggest you also buy an SD card to enable recording on the device, I bought Amazon product code B073JYVKNX Sandisk 64gb.
You need to read the manual for installation but I’ll wrap it up in a nutshell. Install SD card by unscrewing two small screws to take a cover off the top off the camera showing the SD card slot, screw top back on. Download app on smart phone ‘CamHi’. Attach supplied ethernet cable to router and camera. Attach and plug in power supply. Switch on, wait about a minute and open app. Click add camera, select search LAN. Your camera will now show and select it. You will now be able to test view the camera on the app. When you first select camera to view it will mention the time is different, select Europe/Dublin timezone with DST saving time on or off. I don’t use ‘sync with mobile phone’ as I’ve had trouble with the camera recordings so by selecting the time by zone it alleviates later problems. Okay, so you can see the camera view, great, now come out of camera view to your camera list click the clog wheel. In this setting go to wifi settings, click wifi manager and add your router name e.g. SKYGX444 then the password for your WiFi e.g. WF76fDDr55, click save. Once it states successful come out of this menu back to camera list and switch off camera at the mains. Pull out ethernet cable and then switch power back on. Your camera will now connect via WiFi and its job done.
Positioning of the camera is easy, there’s a template in the box for drilling, I do suggest using phone to see what the picture looks like before drilling. Once attached to wall the camera can be adjusted further with the allen key to get your perfect view.
I’m not going to go into recordings and all the other cool features so I suggest reading the manual for this. If you want to have multi view of 4 cameras on one screen then you will have to use the PC software as multiscreen view isn’t available on the phone app. Their website has the download link for this and the software has the same functions as the phone but a bit better in my opinion.
I like the fact that this camera can be viewed away from home and be able to listen also. The recordings can also be played back away from home using the app.
So there you go, it does what it says and I personally highly recommend it.
I returned this camera as it wasn’t quite what I needed (my fault). The company, Michi especially, were very accommodating and easy to deal with. I would do business with them again.
This is a well built product and takes high quality videos. I want to particularly praise the customer service. After having an issue with a loose mounting bracket some 3 months after purchase and outside of the Amazon return service, I had to contact the seller directly for a solution. It took only 4 emails back and forth for the seller to agree to the fault and offer a FOC replacement. On top of this, it was promised for a 3 day delivery and then arrived in just 2 (and that was a bank holiday)!
The measure of a good company in my book, is how well they deal with customer issues. This couldn’t have been handled any better. It was speedy and very polite. Thankyou.
I mainly use this camera for wildlife filming in my garden and having tweaked the settings I am getting very good results. (see video above degraded from the HD original for uploading)
I purchased 3 of these cameras, 2 for external use at my house and 1 for internal use for my partners house so she can keep an eye on her dogs. The 2 external ones were so easy to to install and set up and now provide us with exceptional security coverage to the front and rear of our property. The 2 way intercom also comes in handy to allow both way communication to any delivery drivers
or unwanted visitors. My partner loves her camera too as it allows her not only to keep an eye on her dogs but also to talk to them if they’re misbehaving. I would recommend that you fully charge the cameras before you use them as is recommended by the manufacturer. I didn’t do this but was alerted to a low battery on my phone which displays a bar indicator in the top right corner when you are looking at that particular camera. To sum up, after 2 months the cameras have been really good with no problems at all. They are nicely designed and so easy to install and set up. I think for the quality of picture and build they are excellent value for money. I will write another review in 6 months time to update how the cameras have performed.
EDIT just bought a second one. Connected via ethernet and it works fine. Can’t comment on longevity of course but very satisfied so far – about 5 mins to set up having done it before -including loading it onto synology NAS surveillance station.
Took me about half an hour to set up ( 20 minutes of this was finding a small headed Philips screwdriver to get at the micro SD slot ).
… and it works !! I just had to get the wifi signal up using a cheap repeater that I had.
So far I am really pleased and that is not something I say lightly. I have a rough setup monitoring a chicken coop to start with. It was dark by the time I had it installed but the IR picture is great – far better than I was expecting.
I used the CamHipro app on the phone initially then the windows p2p app that is on their site. The later is clunky but is does work and it does record. The so called freeware software for windows and PC that I have tried like Surveillance Eye actually want dosh from you if you want to record more than 2 hours. They seem quite polished but I am not willling to spend 42 over the iegeek freeware.
In anty case, I have actually installed the ip camera on my Synology Diskstation Surveillance package. It was so easy to set up and the whole feel of that system is pretty solid. You get a license for 2 cameras with the NAS and then have to buy more licenses to add in more cameras – not a problem since this seems to be a serious bit of software.
Just one thing: the three way connector flying lead from the camera could do with better weatherproofing blanking seals – I will just tape these up.
EDIT: the camera still fine BUT be warned iegeek say repeatedly that you need a good wifi connection. Got it to work with a couple of wifi extenders but forgot to tell the router NOT to auto select channel. Where the camera is there is also a strong interfering signal ( also probably on an autochannel ).
If the signal drops below a threshold that enables video, it will disconnect from the network – even if there appears to be enough signal for normal network comms. It then disappears as a connected device from the DHCP list on the router until you sus what’s happening and tweak the extenders etc.
I have given up with wifi – now just using cat 5e cable to a TP powerline adapter ( use several of these anyway ). Can’t direct wire to a LAN switch without drilling through walls etc though that iswhat one should do.
I think wired connections are better in any case and it seems to me that for ipcams in particular, it is cheaper and more reliable than trying to make do with extenders or mesh wifi. I will probably replace the separate power extension line with a pair of “kenable CCTV Camera POE Power Over Ethernet Injector-Extractor Cable Cat6” at 2.69 also from Amazon.
The wired connection gives fast streaming of video and audio – no glitches and no small breaks in audio that we got every few seconds.
I bought this camera for my elderly neighbour to security of the front of their premises. They are in an end of terrace house and I have put the camera under their first floor bedroom window. The camera is very easy to setup and physically install on the wall (follow the instruction manual) and that was very quick and easy to do. However, there are a lot of settings in the app to play around with and configure the camera the way you like. The picture quality for live view for both day and night is good. I have not tried the micro SD card option for storage (using only the 7 day free cloud storage now) so I would not be able to comment on how many days of storage I get with a card. I have set the PIR sensitivity to high and it is able to capture all human motion in the footpath in front of the house and porch. It was a pretty wide view and the 2 MP picture quality is satisfactory. Recommended.
Picture quality is really good, software is very user friendly and quick and easy to set the camera up. Live View is great, you can record your own clips and take your own snapshots. It’s very easy yo share access to the device with other people. Night vision is pretty good quality from what I can see. The only things I don’t like so far is the motion detection and the fact that you can’t view motion detected footage without an sd card. In the photo, I walked past 3 times and it only took that picture when I walked right up to the camera but even then, what’s the point of having an image of someone 15 seconds before they walk in front of the camera? I’ll see what it’s like when I get an sd card but the jury is still out on the effectiveness of this camera.
Edit: motion detection is vastly improved with an sd card as it is now recording motion detected footage. It’s still a bit slow to trigger which means that someone will be almost out of shot by the time it starts too record but its only a few seconds too slow. Its also not recoding any night time footage and I know its “triggering” because I walked in front of it last night and it “woke up” it just didn’t record anything.
All in all a decent camera with some aspects that could be improved but still worth the money
I’ve used an alternative IP camera company before which was fine but recently push notifications and email notifications stopped working which was frustrating so I got this one to try.
In short it’s a great little camera, set up was much easier than the other cameras and the app works and feels like a professional app.
Battery power seems good so far and there is not a huge amount of lag for the motion detection alerts.
Image quality is great, night vision is acceptable.
Physical setup is also very simple, I used to the magnetic mount with the 3M sticky pad and it seems to be holding up fine.
Compared to the other IP cameras I got this is pricier than many but it shows in the quality and ease of use, although it’s cheaper than big brands.
I’ve noticed that the app is also compatible with other cameras and devices which is handy as I’m looking at a camera doorbell that will work alongside it.
During lockdown we were having trouble with the neighbours snooping around our back garden while we where out. I didn’t want the hassle of getting power to a conventional security camera, so I opted for this battery one. So easy to fit and connect to my phone. With alerts and videos when motion is detected. Just the sight of the new camera has now stopped my lovely neighbours thinking that they own a part share of my back garden. Bought a memory card for it also. Battery life seems really good. I’ve been so impressed with the first camera I’ve bought another for front of house to keep an eye on my cars and amazon deliveries.
The camera does its job on the tin but I was disappointed to see that wall plugs were of very poor quality. This is however a minor thing and you can just use your own wall plugs (or if you do not have them just buy some).
EDIT on 12.8.20: After initial enthusiasm for the first camera, I purchased other two cameras. However, for all 3 cameras, batteries become completely flat after a month of normal use. Advert about batteries lasting between 2 and 6 months is completely misleading. I would like a full refund! I have contacted the customer service and I will update the review once a resolution for this case will be achieved.
EDIT on 21.8.20: the customer service demonstrated great professionalism and attention to customer needs. They quickly found a solution which resolved my issue! Thank you!
I wanted something to film the local wildlife at night that had motion sensors and can be viewed from mobile. I purchased some cheaper products that where not up to scratch and battery life 1 hour or less. Having researched this little diamond ticked all the boxes. I am NOT disappointed. It is a fantastic camera for the price. App is easy to use, picture quality is awesome both night and day. In some cases I have turned the night vision off as the camera has utilised the small amount of light available. I am now looking at purchasing a second. Battery life so far is around 60% after 1 week but I am constantly connecting to watch and I have other wildlife attending that triggers the motion. I can live with charging this every 2 weeks if I have to. Very very very impressive.
You cannot view the SD card on pc but that’s easy overcome. Look at the alarm triggers and press record on the piece you want. It will save as an MP4 to mobile for removal if required. It also comes with a fixed mount and a magnetic ball that I use currently for easy removal. The cloud is 7 day trial then you buy storage. With the SD card it’s not required.
I wanted a camera without the need to channel mains power. This camera caught my attention and so I duly bought one. It was relatively easy to install to my router using the Cloudedge app. It was very easy to position outside my front door. An excellent picture, the ability to see in history who has been to the door and the ability to take a snapshot. The camera has a good mic pick up and I can speak to it via the app on phone or tablet. The only difficulty I am having is receiving the push notification with picture when it is activated. This may be a positioning problem on my part and I will continue to work on it, early days only day two of ownership.
For the price it seems well built and with good picture quality I mounted the camera up under the eaves so it isn’t so noticeable when people walk down the drive. It picks up a wide field of view, the path to the door and both cars outside the garage. The instructions are not the greatest as the English translation leaves a bit to be desired but it is easy enough to set up and configure. We have had a spate of low level petty theft in the area recently and the neighbours who are police, recommended a cctv camera. WiFi and battery powered so no need to drill loads of holes in the wall for power leads etc.
I purchased two cameras and I am very pleased with the performance of both. I have one indoor and one outdoor and I have chosen the screwed bracket on the outdoor and the magnetic on the indoor. Both brackets are good for the job. The picture quality is ideal for my needs which is to have observation at night time. The whole camera setup is with the software and multiple time of day can be set for alarm triggering. Note for over midnight I had to set to alarm times since the software does not allow the end time to be before the start time e.g. Can be set individually for each day of the week. The downside to the software is that it does not give a live view of multiple cameras, only one camera at a time when selected. Maybe a future update will add this. The two way sound works well and may act to deter intruders. Build quality very good. May not meet requirements for police evidence. Night vision seems good to me. May not be clear to recognise faces but clear to see a person and movement. I think you would need to spend a lot more money if your security needs are high but for a minimal system with easy install I am very happy and I am considering buying another camera. The first time setup is not very clear in the instructions but I could work it out and it did work first time on both (app running, camera and your wifi password needed). Recordings can be done manually to a phone if no memory card or auto with a memory card or cloud subscription (price not checked).
After getting let down by another brand twice, I thought.. Time to move on. I opted for this brand as the feature of two way audio appealed to me along with the price.
Connecting via Android phone.
No hitches just follow the basic instructions. Simply add your Wwifi password. Scan the QR code that appears on the android screen using the actual camera and you are done! Very smooth operation and very quick install with no mucking around. I like simple!
Build
Nice and solid.
Access ports are to the bottom at the back behind a silicone plug that fully removes from the camera body. This plug has a smaller plug that can be extracted if you decide on cable or solar power connections. The SD card slot could be improved. No indication of which way to put in a card. Logic told me face up. But no @sping@ push fit. I had to use a pin to get the thing out. But no big deal.
Software App.
Very easy navigation, went through all the settings and found it 99% spot on. I have no need for the pay cloud based access and was worried I would not get certain features but in general everything I needed including push notices.
After another play I found that pressing the SD wording on the screen bottom right pulled up a mini menu and bam! full HD! The picture quality even on live viewing was great. You can even digitally zoom in. In the printed booklet it is almost impossible to see the no. codes relating to the features that are printed over the photo images, so I nearly missed this little menu! But the book is done.
This camera basically gives you TV ratios. Wide screen basically. So therefore I have mounted the camera at 90 degrees as I have a long garden. I don’t wish to cover all the other gardens as the motion sensor picks up my neighbours 10 times a day! I have mounted the camera under the house soffit. This will hopefully avoid rain that may enter the speaker zone which is exposed in the 90 degree position. Some have said this is internally sealed.. We shall see…
Night vision is very good as long as you are not pointing at street lights which can fog the image. I have found the camera in areas with LED street lighting, my front way with a car park for instance, actually works great without the need for the night vision setting which can be switched off. Colour rendition is also good in the dark with this model, impressed.
Downloading your videos.
If you set the camera to activate on motion detection, the camera records these as “alarms” in a list, but when you access those individual videos you can’t save them. Simply go to the time line and it scrolls through each motion detection during the day in order and when it gets to the one you want press the screen and the small icons appear, one of which is the record button. Press that and the image is recorded to MPG direct to the camera, no need to take the SD card out of the camera! I am unsure if this creates a screen capture or whether it is the raw data. But the picture looked okay to me which I played back through VLC on the PC. Copy and cut the mpg file to your computer directly to play. It seemed unable to play direct from my plugged in Android device. (possible admin permissions) The cloud facility would only come in handy if someone robbed your house and ripped the cameras off the wall before you had a chance to download! So it is an interesting feature to buy into if you think your cameras could be knocked off or accessed by burglars.
Overall and so far I am impressed with the camera. So much so I bought another! This will be subject to change. Time will tell if this is up for the long haul. My purchase allowed me to an extended warranty and a free solar panel! Or you can get a 32GB mini SD card. How is that for service? Well Done!

Well Done!
Update: Excellent communication with the seller, I have been offered refund/replacement, which definitely makes it worth a try as you know you wont waste money if anything.
Quality of the picture is good, but the motion did not work at all! Why would u need a good picture quality if its not recording. Had it for over 2 weeks now, people been passing by and this rubbish didnt record ANYTHING ! Had a ring camera before and did a good job, been recording every motion.
I don’t normally write reviews on Amazon only if bad or exceptionally good, and this camera is exceptionally good. I have used it as a security camera and also to view wildlife in the garden, using the double sided sticker and magnetic ball to attach it to a tree!! Despite being pitch black I had good pictures of visiting badgers. The instructions to fit are easy to understand and the customer service is excellent. I have a solar panel for mine now which means I can almost forget about it. Battery life is very good even without the solar attachment. It is unobtrusive and a great little camera.
If you are running away like me from drilling your house for the sake of installing a surveillance camera , then this is the perfect answer .
I`ve fixed mine on a wooden panel above my garage, of course after giving it a good charging . The battery drained after nearly 2 months but literally it was recording every leaf who flied in the wind .
After recharging it again I`ve selected PIR mode , for more precise alerts and to preserve the battery life .
I have installed the recommended app on my phone and it is easier to control and monitor the camera via the app .
I`m using a 64GB memory card but really , a smaller one can be used as good , as the camera has loop recording feature and old videos are automatically overwritten .
Weather wise , it survived few strong winds and rains , without me noticing a change in video quality or camera performance .
As it has the advantage of moving it around wireless , for me it`s the best choice .
Good unit, camera HD images are good quality day and night. A solid built camera, good metal mount not plastic. WiFi good, I use seemless mesh WiFi with extender, TP Link Deco units which helps when router is at the other end of the house. Easy to unit to set up. Video play back is good. I use 128g SD cards for playback through cloud Edge app. Battery life seems OK, not had to recharge the units yet but not an issue either way. I may add a mini solar panel to trickle charge the units. Cloud app easy to use and monitor your cameras from anywhere, some good features & settings in app such as motion detection settings/times. Speak and volume can be heard but could be improved. A good camera for the price. I will purchase my third soon.
Had the camera up and running for a few days now.
Good points….
Very good and clear daytime picture quality when set in HD
Motion detection doesn’t seem to go off for no reason (like high winds, or moving bratches) even on high sensitivity.
Good build quality, feels like a quality product
Battery life I would say is going be adequate after 4 days its dropped to about 90% and that’s with me playing around with it and viewing it a lot as it’s a novelty at the moment so I would expect the battery to last longer once I’ve had a little while and the kids stop waving at it every 5 minutes.
Sound and microphone very good and clear
Alerts to phone are quick with 5 seconds or so.
My wifi signal is only about 50% according to app at best, but rarely loses connection only happened twice.
130 degree wide angle is good, wouldn’t want it any less. Just about covers my 4 m wide front garden.
Easy to set up
Delivery very fast
Iegeek quick to reply to Emails, they give you a free micro Sd card if you Email them..
App is…ok easy to use, it’s not horrendous but it could be better, but it seems to have regular updates, already had 2 in the 5 days I’ve had the app
Bad points…..
Night vision quality good but faces of people are just white and can’t make out who it is.
Alert Video play back can (say 3 put of 10 times) Glitchy and jumps or freezes.
My front gate is 3 meters from front door, video alert will take 2 pictures which is actually very good and catch say the postman as he opens my front gate however video alert play back of the same time often only catch the postmans back as he’s walking away back towards gate, doesn’t catch him at the gate walking towards my front door.
Unable to block out motion detection zones on certain parts of video which is a bit annoying as it keeps catching the feet of my neighbours across the way as they walk out of the house (but can’t catch the postman)
Vertical angle could be a little better, I can either have it catching front door (but misses front gate so only gets body and not head of the person until they have entered front garden) or have it pointing at the front gate but blind spot is about 1 meter from front door so could stand close to front door and not been seen. (Personal reference is I have it set up pointing at front gate)
2 days after purchasing the product it was on amazon 12 cheaper.
Over all this is a good product, and I’m happy with it considering the price, I might move the location on the camera at some point which may sort out some of my minor issues.
## 8 month update ## ,
Firstly it’s all still working OK, and the app is (although fairly basic) still working correctly, a solar panel that I’ve added means the camera remains at 100% charge all the time.
Proir to adding a solar panel, the camera was holding charge for about 3 weeks, it seems to get to about 40 or 50% battery then drops off very quickly and before you know it it’s at 10% battery, once the novelty of it wears off and you stop viewing every notification it may last 4 weeks but I can’t see it lasting much longer.
motion detection is erratic, I purchased the camera as we had a object thrown at our house, same thing happened recently, It would have to have been within the camera range, but unfortunately it didn’t capture anyone throwing anything.
Recently the camera picked up me leaving the house and closing my front gate,
When I returned home later my front gate was wide open, after reviewing the cctv footage the camera did not pick up anyone opening it. (Even if I didn’t close the gate it naturally stays in the closed position) and its cast iron so doesn’t move in the wind.
Time delay between video and audio footage of about 5 seconds, So you’ll see someone talk but audio is delayed, makes talking to someone via the camera intercom difficult.
Footage will often do a fast forward or jump forward thing where the video will play as normal but it’s freeze Momentarily then resume 5/10 seconds later, or it’ll do an fast forward thing where the video footage will speed up for for 2 or 3 seconds then return to normal.
All that said every morning without fail it will pick up my neighbour leaving his house, but all it picks up is his feet for about 2 seconds due to the camera angle.
Motion detection used to be on the lower setting, but changed it to High serrinh several months ago.
I do now wonder if a ring door bell would have been a better option as the cost difference isn’t much and only a small fee for cloud storage.
This is like lots of other wifi cameras available, but the big difference is that it runs on rechargeable batteries so is perfect for locations where there is no power available.
The camera was very easy to setup in the suggested CloudEdge app, which can be setup to send motion detection alerts along with 2 pictures, or you can switch this off so it will only record when you want to view live footage which will make the battery last even longer.
You can also set time periods for the motion detection if you wanted to disable this during the night for example.
The picture quality is good and it automatically switched into night vision when it gets dark, or you can switch this permanently on or off if you prefer.
The camera can record to a micro SD card so you can easily watch back footage around the time of each motion detection event. I believe there is also a cloud service that you can sign up for so the footage can be uploaded for safe keeping, there is a 7 day free trial although I haven’t tried that yet.
The app also shows the battery level and will send you an alert when this drops to 20%. To recharge you just bring the camera indoors and connect to a charger with a micro usb cable e.g. a phone charger.
I’m impressed with the battery life so far, although ultimately the length of time between charging will depend on how often you access the camera for viewing live or recorded footage and how many motion alerts there are that trigger recording.
There is also an intercom function in the app so you can speak to someone via the camera.
I’ve got it setup in my chicken run at the moment to test it out, but I think it would be perfect for inside a chicken coop where getting access to power could be an issue.
I think it would also work well to watch the house front door, or to keep an eye on a garage or driveway. As long as there’s a wifi signal available it could go almost anywhere.
In summary this is a great camera, easy to use and with many potential uses.
I didn’t want to spend a great deal of money, or have something too complicated, and this IP Camera appeared to meet my requirements.
Having now had it installed and working for 24 hours, after quite a lot of tweaking, I consider I have it setup as I require, and it works well. I’m sure more expensive cameras could do a better job, but this does everything as advertised.
When installing, download the CamHiPro App to your phone, that gives you the option to configure what time of day/night you want the alarms to be active. The Camhi App is more basic.
Particular thanks goes to Mae at ieGeek service for her help. ieGeek suggest if you need any help, please contact them, and they responded promptly answering all of my questions.
The hardest part of setting up the camera was in arranging a mains power supply to where I wanted to locate the camera.
For 49.99, plus the cost of an SD card, I think this has been money well spent, and I certainly recommend it as a household security feature.
With a lot of WIFI based cameras, anyone can cut the power or line before approaching and enter. This one which has a mix of wifi and SD card capability fit the bill for me. It’s use so far has been easy. It has two ways of installing on the wall. In the house I have used the sticky magnet and out side I will be screwing the base.
Where I have it inside is a little far out from the front door so motion detection is a little poor and pictures of anyone is often blurred but video shots make up for this and i am sure it would be better if it was closer to the intended area.
Only anoying things is having to keep turning on and off the motion detection when in the else otherwise you will keep getting alerts when you trigger it. You either just turn it off (if you are like me you forget to turn it back on again) or deal with your phone going off all the time. What would be best if there was an update that allowed it come on when your phone was out of area maybe…
Anyway for the price I have what I wanted. An inside outside camera that uses an external memory card and allows me to get alerts if needed.
Also has two way coms, which helps scare the Mrs when she get back early.
So far so good.
Been using this camera for 2 weeks now. Took a few go’s to get it in the right position. It is recommended that you don’t place the camera directly in front of the access point, rather to the side.. Probably because the PIR can detect movement etc better.
Picture quality is good day and night, notifications mostly come through within approx 10 seconds some times faster and the camera is of sold build with simple set up.
Battery has hardly reduced and I have been tweaking and living live view alot to ensure it is in the correct position.
All in all, pretty happy with this camera. Does what it says and does it well.
If you are after a wireless camera, after scouring the Web, this does seem to be one of thr better ones out there.
It was easy to set up but the self adhesive tape was not strong enough to stick to plastic window frame so I had to use industrial glue and stuck it on the brickwork which seem to have done the job. The unit it self seems robust and compact. but my biggest issue was the cover was missing so had to use weather proof tape to cover it up. In operation it works well in both daylight and darkness and the quality is more than adequate. I would definitely buy another one but hope the cover is there next time. I would have given 5 stars if the cover had been there.
Moving to a bigger house soon so needed a security camera to go in the back garden. Ideally I needed something wireless to save laying loads of cables which would be fiddly and less secure and came across this. After getting it out the box I had it set up within minutes, the QR codes in the manual make it very easy and the app guides you through the set up for the camera.
Once it was up and running I had it on charge overnight then put it up indoors to try it out. Originally I was sceptical about having to charge a camera rather than have it wired as I didn’t want to constantly have to charge it up however I am quite surprised with this one. Without even starting to configure the settings the motion detection works great and I get an alert on my phone when it goes off within seconds (I haven’t actually changed any settings yet as it suits me how it is!). This ensures the camera is on “stand by” and only uses power when needed which is perfect, I can see this will make the battery last a long time and if we was to sit in the garden I can turn the motion detection off to save the battery! Clear picture, night vision works great too and the app is really easy to use straight away. There are also intercom options along with the ability to take recordings, screenshots and even set up cloud storage.
Great bit of kit, will likely get another front the front of the house after the move!
This camera is so good the video quality is alot better than I thought and it feels really well made, I wanted it mainly for watching over the dog while I’m out but it’s cool that it’s battery powered so I can also put it outside when I’m away and the motion detection is so much better actually picking up people rather than a spider web or rain . It has a stick on ball which magnetically clips the camera to the wall which feels really strong, I can take it off to charge but also a screw attachment which I use outside. It’s so easy to set up I just installed the app turned the camera on and pointed the camera at the QR code on the phone and that was it. Very happy with this purchase.
Great compact package getting irritated by my Arlo system batteries & app having issues.
Tried this new system iegeek wireless battery camera & great really pleased so far. Found app set up really easy but little more working out on how to share not so straight forward but sorted it out so my wife can also share the camera & view when she likes. Picture quality is good sound great so far. Will review when had for a bit longer but for now all great Recommend. App reviews are a concern as they are very low & reports of many issues. Hope all will be ok & this is resolved as it’s a great bit of kit so far & i’ve had no issues. Support is available on the app a free solar panel voucher inside for my purchase as a thank you. Happy days.
I was very tired with all the wired cameras I own and struggling to place them in a reasonable place and drilling the holes for the cables. With this camera it is not the case anymore. The whole idea of battery powered camera is brilliant. But, let me start from the beginning.
I was waiting for this camera to arrive just one day. Inside the package I found the camera itself, two mount units and other useful stuff. So far so good.
I then installed the app and added the camera to it (very easy process).
Firstly I installed the camera indoor to have a look and play with it a bit. I also tested the intercom option and worked really well.
After that I decided to install the camera outside. And this is the most important feature of this camera. As it doesn’t need any cables to run it is really up to you where to put it (as long as your WIFI is strong enough – i used the WIFI extender).
After a few days of testing, mostly the motion sensor, alerts and motion sensor sensibility I found this camera really amazing. The quality of the images/video is really cool, the quality of the camera itself is also great and the iphone app is intuitive.
So far I haven’t tested the SD card storage as well as the iCloud option. Also because I have this camera for a few days only I can’t say much about the battery, but after all these days of testing the batter dropped only slightly!
I will try to update my review after maybe a month (or months) but so far I am really impressed with this product. I can recommend it to everyone who is also like me tired with all the wires around!
I bought this camera to use in my front door
I work night shift so wanted a camera I can use to keep an eye on the door and garage while I am at work.
I wanted a camera that is battery powered and connects to WiFi so I don’t need to drill holes in walls for power and Internet.
This camera fit all the requirements so I ordered.
The first thing I did was to charge it fully for a few hours before first use.
Once I was satisfied it had been fully charged I began set up. Firstly you need to download the App and sign up which only takes a few minutes.
Then once the app is ready you turn on the camera and show the QR code from your phone screen to the camera and it will connect automatically.
The App itself is very good, you can choose between HD and SD images, take screen shots and clips which will be saved to you phone.
You can set the motion detection and have the notifications of movement pop up on your phone.
I’ve only had this up a few days and the battery is still full so can’t comment on battery life but I will update my review to let everyone know how long it goes before I need to charge it again.
I am very very happy with this little camera and so far its performed as expected so I really recommended 5 stars!
After returning ieGeek CT0281WHUK bullet camera because its almost total lack of night vision ability, I replaced it with this slightly more expensive model. The wide angle image produced, both day and night, is by far the best of any of my current IP cameras. Both focus and colour are excellent, and the strong night vision lives up to the claim in the advert. I never use any camera supplier app, instead camera was configured using browser, and subsequently viewed via IP Cam Viewer on iPad and android phone. Also tied into MotioneyeOS on a raspberry pi 3 which takes care of motion detection, email notification, etc, so cannot comment on the camera’s own motion detection facility. The camera is very well built and solid. Positioning arrangement similar, but more substantial and easier to adjust than cheaper model.
Main complaint is the almost total lack of technical information, the manual’s emphasis being on getting the camera up and running on P2P quickly, without the need for any technical knowledge whatsoever. The cameras’s firmware surprisingly includes for many and varied settings but there is no reference to them anywhere. For example, three H264 profiles are available, even one H265. So why should one have to look elsewhere to find the differences between the available profiles so as to know whether one has selected the optimum profile for your installation. Even if such information did not justify being included in the manual, surely it could be included in the support section of the Xiaoshi website.
Having had a low res cctv camera for a few years it was type to upgrade to a proper hd camera which would actually work outside. This camera was far cheaper than a Ring system camera (and these seem to have waterproofing problems) somI thought I’d give it a punt and try to interpret the Chinglish instructions. I’m not particularly techie but managed to get it up and running in about 40 minutes (after a few false starts). Picture quality is excellent, motion section positively over sensitive when set up high and it pings the alarm to my iPad. It’s a good quality camera which I’d wholeheartedly recommend (and I’m planning on buying a second camera to cover the back of the house).
Really impressed with this security camera. It’s noticeable how good this is when comparing against one of the others.
The instructions that came with the product was pretty easy to follow and received everything I needed to mount on the wall with the screws provided. The picture quality is immense with the 1080p ultra HD and crystal clear.
One of the best feature to this smart camera is that I don’t have the best of WiFi connections due to my location, so this camera will keep on recording even after you lose connection and record on to the SD card. You literally won’t miss anything, as your able to insert an SD card up to 128gb, and still has the ability to loop record. Very very impressive camera. Motion detection also works impressively.
Overall, a fantastic security camera!
