The caterpillars are on order and will get here in march. So you only have between march and sept to get your caterpillars. They don’t like the winter!

Amazing This was an absolutely amazing journey. From tiny little catapillars to beautiful butterflys..we did have 1 that died in its chrysalis and 1 that badly injured itself emerging from its chrysalis but its also taught my children to care for injured butterflys as well as setting healthy ones free..looking after the injured one who couldn’t walk right and couldn’t fly was a wild ride. We adored it and named it wonky. Giving the butterfly what it needed to feel comfortable and happy enough even through disability..

Amazing nature in your own home We’ve had 2 of these now and will buy a third this year for sure although after buying the first pack we just bought new catapillars and not the whole pack. Our 5 year old loves watching the catapillars eat and grow in size until they turn into cocoons and then wait until the emerge as butterfly’s. To see the joy and intrigue on his face is priceless, once we release the butterfly’s every time we see a butterfly we tell him that it was one of his even if we are 100 miles away and 7 months later! He loves that “his” butterfly’s come back to see him and that they are still friends. To watch him say “hi mate” and talk to them brings us happiness so this is good not only for children and their parents but also for the butterfly’s. I hope it brings happiness to you too.

Fantastic My daughter and I found an elephant moth caterpillar, we wanted to keep it and see what it would turn into. We kept it in here for a while but ended up releasing it onto the trees as we felt mean. But it’s a great and useful thing to have. I need to order some of the caterpillars soon to go inside. The net is great how it folds back up ever so small so then it doesn’t take up so much room. I love how it has Velcro on the top handle so you can attach it pretty much anywhere

Perfect when living in a pandemic We had such a good time learning about butterflies this summer. With all activities closed, I decided to invest in this plus also purchased the caterpillars using a voucher. My girls absolutely adored them – and kept checking on the cocoons daily. When we released the butterflies one of them landed on a piece of orange that my daughter was holding – it was magical!
Great concep Kids loved the idea… But we never got round to buying the butterflies.. (pupa)… So we’re ready to go… If there are any pupa out there in need of a home we’re your peeps….
They grow up so fas I bought this butterfly pack to help educate my child on the butterfly process. However, what we got was so much more!
Upon receipt of the pack we embarked on our journey, then with everything set up, we placed our order for the 5 little creatures.
They arrived soon enough and were so small and delicate, they didn’t do anything at first but after a day or two they were crawling round the tub causing havoc, never did I think I’d be parenting caterpillars. But their precious little baby stage didn’t last long at all.
After just 10 days they were in their chrysalis looking to become grown ups themselves. We monitored and cared for them during this vital stage of their little lives.
Soon enough they started emerging, this moment was sensational and we knew at this point we had succeeded in bringing these beautiful creatures to the world, we feed them over the next 3 days, taking it in turns to ensure they grew big and strong.
After just a few days they were itching to get out there and take on the big wide world, as we released them they very sheepishly came to the top of their cage and slowly made the big brave leap into the big world.

Great experience This is a great kit to admire the transformation of butterflies. The kit is a bit on the pricey side, considering the extra 2.99 for the caterpillars tub but well worth it. It all went smoothly apart from the huge amount of frass and silk produced by the caterpillars that will make it hard to see them properly after the about 2-3 days. Most caterpillars pupated at the bottom of the tub, the space is so little that no wonder they did not chose the lid! After about a week the butterflies have all emerged, beautiful and healthy.

When you receive the kit you have to send off for your caterpillars, then you just let them grow, slowly they turn to chrysalis and then you move them into the net and wait around a week for the beautiful butterflies to emerge.
A fascinating gift with a difference We had 2 of these, one a gift from someone else, but they were both for a 4 year old. We redeemed the vouchers for the caterpillars a couple of weeks apart so the first lot would have fled by the time the 2nd lot were ready. They fascinated us all from 4 to 74 years of age. It’s very important to just let the caterpillars get on with what they do. They (the tub they’re in) shouldn’t be handled especially when they start to go to chrysalis stage except to put the lid in the net container. Then you just wait until they become butterflies, not that long really. We’ll do it again in about 5 years when our new grandchild due early 2022 is old enough to appreciate it. Instructions come with the box and there is a web site if you need it.

A rewarding purchase! This was a birthday request for our 7 yr old granddaughter and she absolutely loved watching all the stages in the metamorphosis! All 5 caterpillars survived and emerged as butterflies. Watching them, as they ‘charged up’ in warmth outside and eating before the top was opened itself was brilliant. Seeing them fly away was too – one flew to some cherry blossom on the lawn, sucked up nectar, then flew off!

Amazing product which has easy to follow instructions. We are on our third set of Caterpillars now and it is just fascinating to see them change to the most wonderful Butterflies.
Lovely experience for kids
My daughter was going about caterpillars and butterflies at school and I saw this and thought it would be nice. While I now think caterpillars are abit creepy they are absolutely fascinating and the kids had a great time watching them grow and then releasing them at the end, would 100% recommend.

Ordered this for my Grandaughters birthday when it arrived I ordered the caterpillar, s you can choose a date for postage they arrived the day after posting, tiny little creatures I have handed them over today so can’t wait to see the butterflies
Amazing kit, children learned so much and loved them
The caterpillars grew quickly and formed chrysalis easily. We were very nervous transferring them to the habitat and worried after Agee days that they had died!! Then suddenly 2 beautiful butterflies emerged followed by 3 more. Fantastic! The children loved the experience, and we released them onto a butterfly garden we created. They loved landing on the lavender flowers . So good

My daughter received this as a birthday present, I ordered the caterpillars which came within 3 days, was fascinating to watch these tiny caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies.
My daughter took photographic evidence every day and the final stage was letting them go which was great to watch.

I bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves butterflies and bugs and has watched them grow from teeny caterpillars into the cocoons they’re in at the moment. We received 5 tiny caterpillars and they all grew really quickly into big chubby ones. It’s really interesting to watch and I’m sure we will be ordering more when these have been released

Educational and Exciting
Bought this for my granddaughter’s 4th birthday and she was so excited when she opened it, as they had one at her nursery and had been learning all about butterflies.
Her caterpillars have arrived and are busy growing. Nell watches them every day and is fascinated, to the point where mum and dad are going to get more! Definitely a great present choice.
A rewarding purchase!
This was a birthday request for our 7 yr old granddaughter and she absolutely loved watching all the stages in the metamorphosis! All 5 caterpillars survived and emerged as butterflies. Watching them, as they ‘charged up’ in warmth outside and eating before the top was opened itself was brilliant. Seeing them fly away was too – one flew to some cherry blossom on the lawn, sucked up nectar, then flew off!

No caterpillars
4 stars as the caterpillars have to be ordered after getting this and it’s a joykill for a 4 year old.
They are not arriving till after the beginning of May.
I ordered it for a friend’s daughter and had to them order the caterpillars separately.
Just be aware and you won’t be disappointed.
All butterflies emerged.
This is an excellent gift for someone who loves nature. Doesn’t have to be a child either lol. It’s fascinating to see process. My grandson was delighted with it and will be releasing the butterflies today or tomorrow depending on the weather. Personally, I can’t wait to see them gain their freedom. I would recommend anyone to buy such a fascinating gift.

Every was perfect the instructions the service my kids are learning and want to learn more about nature thanks to Insect Lore. As a parent you have to be very patient with kids and ask them to breathe and be gentle with the little ones, it is an amazing learning experience

We love this! Myself and my children are fascinated watching the caterpillars change, it’s just amazing! The caterpillars aren’t in the box you get a voucher in to order them, yiu do have to pay postage on them think it was 2.99 but very easy process and they soon came!
