Love this, though I did get it a reduced price on an amazon deal – I wouldn’t pay full price for it. It’s compact and spins easily. Not always easy to find the right slot for a particular knife but I’m getting there! They go in backwards.
Knives are super sharp and very happy with them
Bought these for my partner, she’s pleased with them so they must be good.
Love the knives and so beautiful to look it. One thing I’d note is the chef knife is small and light. It also didn’t stay sharp after a couple weeks of use. I may need to sharpen ofte
It’s a present look nice hope they do the job good price on Amazo
The different coulered knife handle ends is very handy that you select the correct knife for what you chopping
To my taste this is a great product. The knives are very sharp, the carousel works and I’m overall very satisfied. Would recommend!
Although on the expensive side, these knives look the part in my new kitchen. Carousel spins nicely for easy access to all knives. The knives are VERY sharp (as the wife has often found out). Knives sit firmly in the block.
Razor sharp and comfortable to use. The stand doesn’t take up much room on the work surface so another plus point.
I absolutely love this knife block set. Lovely and sharp the knifes and so compact.
What a difference good quality, very sharp knives mean to food preparation.
Bought for my sons birthday as he wanted new kitchen knives – he loves them
Liked the carousel idea for easy rotation but would have preferred colours on the base to match those on the knives for easy recognition of each knife. Like the ‘balance’ design to prevent the knives blades from touching the work surface. Thought the blades would have been a little thicker as the point of one of them has bent already.

Great knives. Love the design that means the blade doesn’t touch the counter when you rest it down between uses. Stores in a small space and looks good.
So far brilliant. We have plenty of Joseph Joseph products. These look great and work great, go well with the JJ cutting index boards.
Bought as a present for my parents and they are really happy with the knives. Extremely sharp!
I bought this for my brother to use at university and it seems to be the ideal set, perfect for beginner “budding chefs”
Lightweight with sharp blades but don’t like the plastic feel of the handles. Like the hygienic design where the blades won’t touch the surface when laid down.
Bought as gift for my daughter and son-in-law they loved it, the knives are very good and the carousel doesn’t take up much room
ice feeling knife set, look and feels good. Compact design.
These knives are sharp and come in all sizes including a nice bread knife. The knife holder works like a carousel, so it will go around when you push it to one side or the other.
Very happy with this knife block and set. I’m sure they will last forever. Looks good and does the job.
Nice sharp knives. Bought on treasure truck at reduced price. Only now realize how blunt my old knives were, so need to be extra careful I don’t slice my fingers! Only down side is that they aren’t dishwasher safe. Nice spinning carousel to keep them in.
Very sharp and very smart. Great knives and good storage solution.
C’est design c’est pratique a vite de laisser traner des couteaux partout et les couteaux fonctionnent trs trs bie
Very sharp knives, just what I wanted for my culinary skills.
Great set of knives, super sharp, and take up very little kitchen space!
These knives are now made of metal rather than the plastic coating so I thought I’d purchase them as it seems they’ve ironed out some of the issues with the first version. These are so sharp and do the job perfectly. Plus they look good too. Recommended!
Very nice knives, feel like the block needs ungraded slightly to match the quality of the knives
love the carousel keeps the knives secure and safe, colour coding helps with knife selection, very sharp – be careful!!
Love these knives so much!!!! So sharp, nice handle, stilish,, can’t faul
Have about 9 months now and the finish isn’t flaking on any of the knives and none of them have dulled so far. So we are quite happy with them
Sharp very sharp. Try not to cut a finger off.
Good quality and doesn’t take up a lot of space
My old knife was just not cutting it anymore.
These are lovely. Good to handle, very sharp and a useful range of knives.
Very very sharp knives. Great for the job and in a neat round rotating holde
These knives have a great design, which makes them easy to hold and use. They also come in a holder, which does what it says on the tin and holds all of the knives safely. They are on the more expensive end of knives although compared with some others, these have been great. We actually had the previous set for over 5 years and they were great even at the end when we had to hand them back with the flat we were renting, hence we bought the new set and so far have been impressed.
So so sharp! I managed to slice my finger when first using so can definitely say they are really sharp. Cuts through vegetables like a hot knife through butter. makes life so much easier having nice sharp knives. lovely set, looks great on our worktop and lovely to use the carousel to spin around to find the right knife for the job,. Awesome product.
I’ve used Joseph Joseph products for years now, some, most in fact are well designed and have some unique little twist which makes them worth the money. (some, such as their now discontinued scissors, less so) These knives use the same “elevate” design on the grip, which is essentially a raised area upon which the knife can rest when not in use. This lifts the blade off the table top to prevent mess. It’s simple and in the case of knives, works well. (it’s less effective with spoons, which can often be loaded with sauce and tip over anyway). There’s also a revolving block too, which is a nice touch.
Other than that I would say they’re rather conservative from a colour point of view, – Joseph Joseph are known for their bright and colourful utensils, although there is at least a coloured circle on top of each knife. Surprisingly perhaps there’s no knife sharpener build into the base, which I feel would have been a nice addition.
As for the quality of the knives themselves, some may find the plastic handles a little cheap feeling if you’re used to high end knives (and at the price, they’re certainly not budget knives), but other than that they feel fine to me. The plastic on my other Joseph Joseph products eventually perished so time will tell if these go the same way, and if the choice not use all metal was a wise one. It also strikes me as a little odd to include a bread knife in this set. Who still buys unsliced bread? I’d sooner have had a cleaver or other large cooking knife instead.
Overall these are a good set of knives which whilst not cheap, feel like a well made product with a few of the usual Joseph Joseph clever design touches.
There are a good selection of very sharp knives in this block. The block itself looks good and fits under overhanging units so potentially saves some space in the kitchen whilst keeping them away from children. The knives are balanced and shaped such that when you place them down they do not contaminate the surface.
It has taken a few days to remember which colour corresponds to which knife, but once you have that sorted then this is a really good set of knives.
I’m a fan of Joseph Joseph things – stylish but practical. This knife block rotates, meaning the knife you want can come to you. Good set for most needs, blades turned away so no accidents. Good set all round with the knives fitting in snuggly. Great! Would buy as a gif
Beautiful knife set, matches grey kitchens with black tops to a T. The handle rest is a nice touch and a great idea. Super-sharp and comfortable to handle, my only issue is that they could be heavier to balance better (for the price).
if You have a traditional kitchen then this item is not for you – it will look better in a traditional wooden block. However if your kitchen looks like a New York warehouse apartment then jump straight in. Ultra compact, practical, highly fashionable with a price to match. These knives are for sushi and fashionable food rather than traditional farmhouse food. These set of knives do look excellent in a modern kitchen and the blades are of high quality and a good investment. The price is steep so shop around or wait the sale/ offers.
These knives stand in a carousel which takes up only a small space on the worktop. The knives slide easily into their own slot and will only fit one way so they are quite stable when in the carousel. The carousel stand turns easily and each knife is colour coded. They are nice and sharp and cut through, bread, veg, fruit or meat with hardly any effort. I like the look of this knife set and stand on my worktop and they are making my slicing and dicing really easy. I will however keep them sharp by giving them a quick stroke or two on my sharoing rod after each use.
I was looking for a decent set of knives for ages, all of them seemed to take up loads of room.
What I like about this is that every knife is stored in a carousel, and because there is a specific piece cut out of the top of each section of the carousel, you can’t put the knife in the wrong place. The only issue I have with it really is that when you put the knives away, you have to put them in cutting blade side first. I’m not sure if this is going to reduce the sharpness after a while.
They feel really comfortable to use, and if you lay them the right way up when you put them down when using them, they don’t touch the kitchen counter.
You may think the set is expensive, but trust me, if you are after decent knives you have to pay a premium.
I like Joseph Joseph products, they are stylish, practical and often space-saving. The Elevate Knives Carousel set is a perfect example.
The non-slip base of the Carousel knife block is just over five inches in diameter, but it easily holds the five knives in the set. Rotating the carousel brings your chosen knife to the front ready for use.
All the knives feature the ingenious knife rest which keeps the blade clear of work surfaces when not in use. However, in this set, the knife rest also locks the knife into the block so that it has to be lifted slightly before removal. It also ensures that the blade edge is away from the user when removed.
The knives themselves are extremely well made with very tactile handles. They are all well balanced in the hand and the Japanese stainless steel blades are very sharp.
This is an excellent set and I would recommend it.
Also in the picture is the Joseph Joseph Elevate Utensils Carousel https://www.amazon.co.uk/Joseph-Elevate-Carousel-Classic-Gift/dp/B00R86CVU6/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1LZIAHOTUCPBP&keywords=joseph+joseph+elevate+carousel&qid=1572774342&sprefix=Joseph+Joseph+elevate%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-4
I’ve been used to cheapo knives in my kitchen so to have some better quality ones is something of a novelty.
This set seems well made, they aren’t too heavy, the blades are sharp and they store away in the rotating plastic carousel provided.
Each knife has a different colour on the end of the handle and once you get to know which is which, you’ll hopefully be able to go for the one you want each time.
I can’t really think of much more to say, but if I’d bought them, I’d have been pleased with them and I’m happy to recommend them to you.
I like this overall, although it relies heavily on design and is less competent in the utility field, which is more important when it comes to a knife set.
The carousel is plastic and does grip the work surface, but doesn’t have the expected weight, particularly noticeable if you have a wooden block set beforehand. It does score for the fact the carousel will easily fit underneath cupboards as the slit design means you do not need the clearance of blade, handle and carousel to take one out.
What you do need is a good memory, like being able to match cards that are face down, as the only means to distinguish between blades is the length of the handle and by remembering which colour dot coincides with the one you want. It will come with time and not too much of a chore if you get it wrong, to be honest.
The knives have a build-in rest on one side so the blade does not touch the work surface, which will cut down on mess, once you get used to it. They are fairly light, comfortable to hold, sharp, but they do make more of a meal of the cutting process than I had expected. I am used to a heavier knife and found these required more effort to achieve the cut.
Washing is by hand only as these are marked not dishwasher safe. I will abide by that since I have found Joseph Joseph-brand plastic does not react well to dishwashers and I think the warning may be related to the handles rather than any potential for the blade to blunt.
Overall it is a nice-looking set that scores more highly for the design impact than the cutting surface of the knife.
Love these. Bought because my daughter has them and they have stayed sharp and in good condition for several years. Also do not take up much space on surface. Look nice.
