Don.’t shout too loudly or they’ll put the price up. OK it is expensive, but so is a Kamado Joe. That’s the only downside. This fan ‘fires it up’ while you prep the food or finish cutting the grass. Then you pop a probe into a whole chicken or turkey, close the lid, set your phone to both oven temp and finished food temp and that’s it. Just before the food is cooked you get a text from Boston, Massachusetts, then another when its DONE. I am not joking. How cool is that? The App even gives you a graph of the cook including the temps and fan speed. It even logs all cooks – I’m up to 87. This is 10,000 year old early human technology meets 21st Century. Brilliant. And the smoked, juicy, perfectly cooked food is even better. But don’t bother if you’re only doing burgers & dogs.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI already had a BBQ Guru for the Weber and could use it on the Kamado Joe but I wanted to give the iKamand a try. I did some research and found that V1 did not have the non-return flap (shown in Pics) which stops hot air causing havoc in your very expensive BBQ busy.

So I waited and went with V2 which still had its issues in the beginning with software but these have now genuinely been ironed out. You can genuinely set this up and forget about it.

Ive used it for over night Briskets or just so your day is your own when cooking 5 hour ribs.

The WiFi is simple to set up although the range is not brilliant tbf. When over night cooking, you can have it by your side in case it alarms but if you have a few walls to go through it does struggle. The app is simple to use, very user friendly; so much so you select the main meat (Chicken, Beef.. pork etc) and then drill down to even which type of steak or roast, chicken leg breast.. etc etc!

One last thing, be careful, one size does not fit all, there is one for the classic and another for the Big Joe, but neither fit the Joe Jnr.

Excellent bit of kit, I thought it may be just another gadget I won’t use, but I was wrong. I use it a lot, I would definitely buy this again.
If you own a Kamado Joe, you should think about one of these?

A must have for long low and slow cooks!
