I love to bake and my old smaller kenwood mixer broke at the beginning of January. I honestly can’t remember how long we’d had it but at least ten years, so I wanted to stay with kenwood. I decided to upgrade for a new mixer and I’m so glad I have. I love having the extra attachments, the glass bowl lets you see when everything is actually mixed in, the extra speed settings are amazing. I was worried because a few reviews said the mixer didn’t reach the bottom and everything was left unmixed, but I’ve found that it only does that with thicker mixtures, and once you’ve scraped the sides with the spatula provided once that everything mixes in perfectly.

I’ve wanted a kenwood for a while and this was such a good price after Christmas in the sale, its excellent such an upgrade from my old mixer. I’ve been making breads, cakes and cookies and it really makes such a difference having quality equipment in the kmix. I’ve had no problem with the glass mixing bowl getting stuck you just have to be mindful to not turn it too much, which you don’t need to anyway. Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this for my other half who is starting her baking business, she absolutely loved the colour & mixer itself. It’s really well built, sturdy and looks great in the kitchen. The first time she used it, the glass bowl got stuck, it wouldn’t rotate off the bayonet fitting at the bottom of the mixer. We tried absolutely everything to try and remove it to no avail, after looking online it seemed that this was a known issue that loads of people had.

Thankfully, Kenwood were brilliant. A quick phone call & they arranged for the unit to be collected so they could remove the bowl. They offered us the choice of either a new glass bowl or a new metal bowl, we were told the metal bowl had a different fitting at the bottom so it should work without an issue.

The mixer was returned within a fortnight and the new bowl arrived even sooner.

Now all works brilliantly and we’re really happy – though maybe just save yourself the hassle and buy the metal bowl too…

Bought this for my mum few months ago and she’s had no problems. It’s huge though when it’s out of the box. She loves it. No more messing with a hand mixer. Everything in and done. Looks good too. Cream colour blends in nicely with the kitchen. Fantastic mixer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI realise these mixers are for larger amounts generally. But I just wanted to point out that if for example you want to make enough pasta dough for 2 people for example the mixer will not work and just gets tossed around the bowl as opposed to kneaded. And I would assume the same issue will arise from various other ingredients as well.

Well I have replaced my vintage Kenwood mixer that is over 40 years old and have to say it’s not a patch on my old one. I suppose I was expecting it to be better but my old friend was a better and more vigorous mixer.

Looks very stylish & with a good size glass mixing bowl . The machine is heavy to move and some of the attachments are a little fidley to attach until you get the hang of it . Other than that its a great kitchen aid

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersMy first use and because it is a huge bowl, I decided to make two cakes in it using a Victoria sandwich cake mix. Everything seemed to be going well as I beat the sugar into the butter, added the eggs and then the flour; the mix seemed well creamed and I doled it out into the three tins – first on the pineapple upside-down cake, then divided the rest between two sandwich tins. However, because the mixture seemed to be perfectly creamed (it’s a glass bowl so you could see it), I had not stopped to scrape the bowl sides and bottom halfway through the mix with the spatula. I will next time because if you don’t, the cake in the middle in the picture – the one that had the scoop of mixture from the bottom of the mixing bowl – is what you get; I can only describe it as ‘crunchy’, or maybe ‘biscuity’. That’s because the sugar has not mixed through and this particular cake is almost all unmixed crunchy sugar.
So, the cake beater does not, despite the planetary action of the thing, scoop up all the ingredients for a good old mix; you have to intervene with the spatula halfway through. If you’re feeling flush, you could go on and pay an extortionate 30 for a beater with a silicone spatula attached, but I won’t be getting one at that price.
On the plus side, the pineapple upside-down cake was delicious, as was the other half of the sandwich cake. I told everyone it was intentional and called it crispy cake. They fell for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good, solid, well-made mixe

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersReceived my kenwood today as a ( expensive ) replacement for the von shef, which packed in well within the warranty, 5 e- mails later, still, no reply, so got a refund and bought this. On reflection, I should have bought this in the first place, it is solid, doesn’t jump around, the cover stays put, and it is quiet. I am so pleased with this purchase, 5 year guarantee, I have a kenwood food processor as well. If you are thinking about buying a cheap model, don’t bother wasting your money, save up for a while and get the real deal.
Having looked very closely at the cheaper alternative, I found that they were all made in the same factory. Save your money folks.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAlthough I sent it back , I do recommend this machine for a younger mom with family, I have used Kenwood
for over 50 years, and they have never let me down, this machine was too heavy for me and too big as I am now on my own, Have just bought a new Kenwood shredder slicer which I am happy with I love KENWOOD
products very disappointed I had to send the mixer back it is a beautiful machine.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bake on a regular basis at home and was finding it difficult to use a hand held mixer so purchased the Kenwood KMIX. This is a well proven designed and manufactured mixer, very robust and gets the mixing of ingredients done in no time, the glass bowl is great to use and clean.
The mixer is quite heavy to lift and move but we have sufficient room on our Kitchen worktop counter so we just leave it where we can easily access the mixer when we need it. Overall, a great purchase.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was a bit sceptical when I read the reviews about the glass bowl but I haven’t had any problems at all with it. When I put the bowl on the stand, I don’t tighten it in, just slightly turn it to lock. The bowl is heavy especially when it’s got ingredients in it but I soon found my way of adjusting with it. I love that it has a really slow setting, my last machine was a little fast on the lowest setting, it had a very fast setting too which is great for whipping cream. Wouldn’t be without it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI moved to Europe for a couple of years and had to leave my KitchenAid Pro 600 behind because of voltage compatibility. I bake bread often, and brioche and some other enriched breads are difficult to knead by hand. So I bought this mixer on a deal at Amazon and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. It is powerful enough to knead lower hydration, high-gluten breads, and has an efficient dough hook. This is an excellent buy at the price, and a good product regardless of price. It handles 4kg+ of dough with ease.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis looks great in my kitchen and matches the colour scheme well.
When using the paddle, I had to stop the machine to scrape down the mixture a lot, as the paddle is a bit too short for the bowl. There may be a way of making it higher, but I’ve not found that yet and it probably wouldn’t work with the guard on.
Whisking didn’t have that problem and was very efficient.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWriting a review soon after purchase is a somewhat daft exercise, however Amazon have invited me so here are my early thoughts. The instruction booklet leaves a lot to be desired, and their are glaring issues with the text requiring a leap of faith in setting up the machine. Bowl fits but NOT where the booklet tells you to install it. The motor starts but again the text refers to a light, without any explanation as to flickering light! There may be others but the scones at least turned out fine.

Had a Kenwood for 30yrs so this is an upgrade. Generally very happy with new model but it is very heavy & the glass bowl makes it heavier
Will definitely invest in a stainless steel bowl in the future

Good weight so it doesn’t move alot when mixing although if you make 1kg of dough then expect it to move somewhat.

I’ve had no issue with the plastic part on the bottom of the bowl yet, but it seems solid and not likely to snap anytime.

    Great power options

Took a gamble and went for the refurbed option. Box was damaged and the mixer had a couple of small marks on it, but other than that it was immaculate. Very pleased with the product and the price.
Been using it to make bread dough and it does a great job. No complaints from me.

Still in early use so remains to be seen how it will hold up over time. But a great product with all the attachments you could need for baking included. Can support a fairly large amount of dough to knead and has turned out some great stuff so far. Would recommend!

Tip for anyone looking for this to knead dough for bread / cinnamon rolls etc, use a low speed (around speed: 1)

I have bought a few cheaper mixers over several years and often on the basis that a 1500 watt motor should adequately deal with my few-times-a-week bread making (I don’t like supermarket bread). Often these necessitated frequently stopping the mixer in order to scrape the dough from the sides into the middle of the mixer bowl but I assumed (in my ignorance) that this was normal. My initial concern with buying the Kenwood was that it is only a 1000 watt motor and possibly weaker than those mixers I’ve previously owned but how wrong I was! The Kenwood is a significantly different machine. It mixes effortlessly and in a shorter time than my previous machines. I noted too that the machine head does not rock up and down noisily like all of the cheap versions I have previously owned.
With reference to the complaints I have seen in other reviews about the glass bowl locking into place, I used a little smear of vegetable oil on the base and resisted twisting the bowl into its locked position. I have had no difficulties in that regard at all.

Never owned a stand machine before so I have nothing to compare to but I do love it.
I did try to research between this and kitchenaid.
Am very happy – so far it’s done everything I could ask fo

Because I make my own bread ,this is a boon when it comes to kneading the dough. Have not tried it on cake mixes yet, but I do not see any problems with that.

Very pleased with this mixer, with just a couple of negatives. The mixing bowl is incredibly heavy and could be an issue for people with arthritis or weakness in the wrists. Also I couldn’t remove the bowl after the 2nd use. After some investigations on the internet I found the answer was a spray of WD40 round the base which worked a treat. I now keep the can in with my baking stuff!! I have only had to use it once though.
