This is the first time of using my Kenwood Titanium Chef Patissier XL. All I can say is wow!!
It’s a truly wonderful piece of equipment. I’m currently proving an enriched dough. You just set the heat level & time to prove & the machine does the rest!
The other amazing feature is to weigh ingredients straight into the bowel.
Thank you Kenwood, the best ever machine!

    Best ever mixe

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOK, it’s expensive but when you’re making a few sourdough loaves each week it makes things a lot more efficient. It gives a better overall mix, it reduces the amount of mess and subsequent clearing up, the warming function (which has to be set a bit higher for a sourdough than a ‘normal’ dough) gives a uniform heat instead of using an airing cupboard or oven on a very low heat.
So, expensive but if used worth it.

if you are a confident baker or looking to get into baking i would highly recommend this amazing Stand Mixer by Kenwood. It is extremely high quality, classy finish and outstanding performance. I’m hardly an professional chef, however with two children and a greedy partner in the house, its a hobby i do like to take on when i get the chance, which i hope to do more often, which having this has certainly made my life easier, saved time and made baking much more enjoyable.

I’m pretty sure the first thing after the branding that you will notice is the price, and whilst yes it is extremely expensive, you really do get value for what you pay for. This is a solid mixer, extremely sturdy, very heavy (so you might need help unboxing and carrying) and the stainless steel will definitely last for years with constant use. Firstly, It is a huge mixer, so its suited for a big kitchen or one with large space. I would also recommend that you have the storage space for this, when not in use, as it will take up alot of room, and probably won’t fit in a cupboard either.

It has many fancy features that will certainly save you time when baking such as an 7L easywarm bowl which will help melt ingredients for you such as chocolate or butter. The Easy weigh feature will measure the quantity as it has built in scales which i found very useful but also weird. It does save you time time doing this, and made less mess as i was pouring straight into the bowl rather than the measuring jug, however some may prefer to do it the old fashioned way due to habits.

There is a touch screen on the side of the mixer where you can select to prove the dough, mix or melt chocolate/butter. The screen is very responsive and very easy to use and understand.
The mixer comes with a 5L bowl which can be put inside the 7L, stainless steel whisk, stainless steel k-better, spatula, stainless steel dough tool, and creaming beater.

It proves and mixes dough to perfection within minutes which i couldn’t imagine how long it would take doing manually or with an older machine, so in terms of performance i really cannot fault it. The features are extremely relevant and simple to use. Its a shame it couldn’t just bake the cake for me however i would highly recommend if you love baking!!

    Bakers heaven!

This is a top quality mixer.
It works fantastically, it is so smooth and professional to use.
It has a variety of functions to meet any bakers/cooks needs.
Not only does it work fantastically but it looks so stylish too. The chic grey and silver design are so stylish looking that I proudly display this mixer on my worktop for allto see.
It comes packaged and presented nicely and would make a beautiful and thoughtful gift for any Baker.
It may seem pricey at wellover 700 but it is worth every penny.
    5 stars and highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWow what a good looking kitchen appliance first thoughts on seeing this out of its box. A proper glam workhorse.
Then omg it’s so heavy not the kind of item you can put easily into a cupboard then bring out when wanting to use. More the type you leave out on worktop for people to look at and gasp at especially when it lights up to do its work.
It feels robust and as though it will last years. Then again for the price you would expect so too, it’s more in the league of some other well known big brands that people rave over. Seems like Kenwood have certainly upped their game with this beauty.
There is an app you can download for more tips, recipes and other stuff which I haven’t got round to doing all.
The instruments that come with it sturdy and attention to detail amazing I thought. The K symbol on the beater genius idea and this is so solid. The other bits easy to put together if not using all the time for storing. Seriously these instruments that go with it are so well made. Even a splash guard around the bowl so no messy mix going everywhere seems like most things have been thought about in the design of this beauty.
The two bowls the outer one not able to go into dishwasher as that has the function of warming but the inner one can do. It’s not half as noisy when in action as I thought it would be.
The look of it so modern and the titanium colouring goes well with our industrial look….. no way was this going into the garage just to be bought out for usage it needs to be looked at even when not in use.
What’s the best thing about this? The ability to be able to get various attachments that can do other things too. Basically this is the workhorse part of the machine the main body motor part with bread kneading tool, whisk and yes it’s the biggest whisk I’ve seen. Beater, spatula etc.
Also the fact you can warm your butter and other ingredients like chocolate with no hassle and also weigh it so other scales not needed. I love this and other family members, son and husband too love it but husband has said it’s slightly overkill to make just Yorkie puds and he uses the small whisk we already have. Teenage son thinks it a whizz and more than happy to make things using it. Must say the dark choc and pistachio cookies he made using this were wonderful. It’s easy it clean too which is a big thing in my mind. I always seem to get left to clear up after others and their cooking so this being an easy clean operation made my day.
Ok I’m not a great cook, but this is one that appeals to those that aren’t but can get others to use it and cook for them too. Many might say what it’s great for cooking wise etc and be quite technical about it all myself…
I think it looks the business and it really is a piece of art in itself and yes would love any of the other attachments that go with it. That is if any of my family would like to use them too as they all seem so easy to slot into the main part of the machine. A leaflet does come with the machine stating which parts can be obtained and yes they do seem like most things you would use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am so so greatful and thankful to review this item.
Unfortunately I am just a normal mum but I have 3 kids that have been begging to do some baking .
This machine is the top of the best .
Its build and quality is outstanding .
The tools are thick and made to last.
When you first turn it on you get to customize the language and the colour back ground .
There is 9 heat settings and 6 speed settings I think it was .
Thankfully it fits lovely in my cupboard and all the tools fit in the bowl.
There is a quick start and a full on leaflet.
One thing I loved was the ease to weigh stuff as my kitchens small even once stuff in you can set it back to 0 to weigh the next thing . The heat only works with the bigger bowl and the splash guard which has a lid so you can add things with ease.
It does not move on the side even on the fastest settings .
It’s so easy to wipe down and clean after .
The price is bit eye watering and something I unfortunately would never afford but if you have the money then this is the beast you need!
I cant recommend it enough and cant wait to try new things . You can set the timer to mix and you have a auto set up menu . The led light thingy is all touch or you can use the twisty to move about too. I cant get over how amazing it is and there is extra parts you can buy that work with it . Its truly fantastic and definitely has the “wow” factor.

    Amazing!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy fellow reviewers have done a wonderful job of describing all the features of this amazingly clever machine so you don’t need my blurb. It’s just astonishing – guaranteed for 10 years, will probably still be going strong in 2061 and one will be in every kitchen. Don’t be daunted by it either (I was, that much technology is dead scary to a bit of a dinosaur like me) but it’s soooo easy to get even the most sophisticated bits to work. Basically it does everything for you, apart from the actual baking: you still need an oven for that although I expect Kenwood are already devising ways to get round that too.
It’s stunning to look at, huge, deceptively simple to use, quick, effective beyond your wildest dreams. There is nothing to fault on this piece of wizardry – except the price. At the time I was sent it, it was 750, which made me choke on my cornflakes. Honestly, you could buy an old car for that. Or pay someone to bake you cakes every day for a year. I know, you can’t compare apples and pears but blimey, it’s an eye watering cost. Even my (now retired) chef friend blinked in shock. Before she covetously rubbed her hands and made me promise to lend it to her once we’re allowed out of lockdown….
It’s a beautiful, magical thing. And it’s an investment. If you can afford it, get it, you’ll never be disappointed. I would give it 5 stars, even 6, it’s that good, but I just can’t get my head round 750….
Oh, and Amazon wanted me to rate its warmth, sheerness and thickness, none of which apply so I’ve ignored all that nonsense.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAwesome! This is a Kenwood masterpiece! I have bought Kenwood for many years and they have definitely excelled themselves with this chef Patissier version.
My daughter makes cakes for birthdays, weddings, parties etc and we have been using this for a wedding cake.
We love how the 7ltr bowl warms the ingredients and the touch screen is amazing and so intuitive

It took both of us to remove it from the box. This is a metal mixer and very heavy at around 15kg
But is it simply amazing and looks wonderful in the kitchen.
Very easy to wipe over and not too noisy in use.
We aim to make bread next and take advantage of the warming feature again to prove the dough

It may seem a lot of money but it will redeem itself over time. This should last a lifetime and make baking a real pleasure

    Highly Recommended

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersThis machine has added a touch of class to the kitchen! It should be left out on the worktop to use almost everyday especially with the option to use multiple attachments (sold separately)

After reading over the other fantastic reviews about this stand mixer I’m thinking what can I add that maybe the other reviews haven’t mentioned to help the buyer, I will try not to repeat what the other reviews say but maybe I can mention about the quality, I have been a precision machinist manufacturing injection moulding tools and press tools for 20 years so I have a keen eye for quality and detail of the finished product, certain areas on a product stand out to me straight away because of this.

My first impressions of the machine was of the high quality and the design, I know it’s expensive but I feel after checking everything over that it’s priced bang on, the attachments are all manufactured to a high standard, the K beater is machined from a single piece of stainless steel and polished to not far from a mirror finish, same goes for the other attachments being very good quality, a few areas on the creaming beater where the mould inserts meet and have been manually de-flashed are noticeable but this is just being picky, the splash guard and cover are one of the best moulding combinations I have seen with the blend lines of the side inserts being bang on and Crystal clear.

The attachments are simple to fit and release with a simple twist.

The two stainless steel bowls are outstanding and the extra one being very handy, you can only heat up the main XL bowl and only one bowl to be used with attachments at any one time.

The machine itself looks amazing, and it’s built to last, the colour looks nice with the stainless steel combination.

There are two magnetic covers on top of the machine for the extra attachments that are sold separately, the one towards the back of the machine is for the high range attachments like blenders and spiralizer then you have the one at the front for adding the low range attachments like the meat mincers and pasta cutters.

The light at the top of the machine runs around the head and lights up everything, a brilliant addition.

The build in scales take a bit of getting used to especially trusting it as I’m used to measuring out everything separately, I like that when the head is up the scales automatically start and the screen angle adjusts to suit instead of turning your head to the side to read, when the scales are in use the whole machine becomes a scale so don’t touch anything just add ingredients, even leaning on the worktop can effect the reading.

The preset programs work well for bread making and chocolate melting amongst others, the built in heated base is a joy to use, it’s nice to have everything built in, makes it so much easier, one thing I would have liked is to know what temperatures the warming settings 1-9 are, I’ve tried looking online for this info but can’t find anything, but I think setting 3 is around 28-30 degrees. It took a little time to get used to the settings and timers but once you get the just of it then it’s a doddle, the more you use it the more it will all become familiar.

If you’re looking for a new all in one mixer with the option to expand further with additional attachments then look no further, you get what you pay for and this is pure quality and design, I can’t recommend this high enough, thank you.

    Totally transformed my kitche

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI have my mum’s Kenwood, purchased in the late 1960’s, which is still going strong, so I’m hoping this machine will be just as robust. Wow, hasn’t Kenwood come on, this machine has blown my mind, compared to my old 1960’s model.
The machine comes with a 7ltr and 5ltr bowl, but only the 7ltr bowl can be used with the warming function. It also comes with the classic K-beater, a whisk, dough hook and a creamer, which is new to me. It’s for smooth cake batters, butter cream icing, etc, by the way! I must admit, I found the idea of a bowl warming up whilst stirring a little odd, but once I’d included that feature in a recipe, I was impressed! I look forward to using it to prove bread and melt chocolate
I hadn’t taken the butter out of the fridge () but after cutting it up into cubes, it mixed into an all-in -one cake batter in one minute, using a pre-set program.
Taking it out of the box, is a two person job, so be warned, it’s very heavy. It would have been nice, if it had come with a cover, like my old one did, but I can make one.
The machine is very easy and self explanatory to use, if you can use a smart phone, then you should have no problems with this machines touch screen. The machine has three screens, Auto, Manual and Settings, which can be accessed by swiping the screen left or right, take the sticker off the screen first though
Auto is self explanatory, set the type of thing you want to make, load up the bowl and press start. It will then do everything for you. Manual, again self explanatory, you program in what you want it to do, press start and it will mix to your request. Setting allows you to change certain functions, language, switch the light on and off, etc.
The instructions are clear and well laid out, and if you scan a bar code on the box, it will take you to Kenwoods web site, where you can watch instructional videos and obtain some easy starter recipes.
The splash guard and feed Shute is a welcome addition to the machine, my old one didn’t have one, and many a time the flour would billow out when mixing started. Being able to add ingredients, without the whole lot flying out, is great.
All in all, I’m really happy with this machine, I now just have to rearrange my kitchen, and find somewhere to store it, as it’s twice the size of my old one.
I thoroughly recommend it. (Not so sure that my waistbands do though!)

    Wow! And I mean WOW!!!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersKenwood Titanium Chef Patissier XL Stand Mixer (KWL90.004SI)
Weighs your ingredients on the easy weigh scales so you can weigh your ingredients directly into the bowl with the built in scales, saving time and reduce on equipment needed and washing up when baking.
The mixer also comes with 7L easy warm bowl so you can melt better/chocolate and other ingredients. Also makes bread making a lot easier as you can prove the dough.
The mixer also comes with a 5L stainless steel bowl (this bowl can nest inside the larger bowl), stainless steel k-better, stainless steel whisk, stainless steel dough tool, plastic spatula and also creaming beater. There is also a splash guard to attach to prevent icing sugar or flours causing dust in your kitchen.
Mixer has a 6 SimpleTouch Presets function. The display screen (2.4inch) can be displayed with a colour of your choice (I picked purple), use this to select program i.e. prove dough, melt chocolate or mix your cake (basically it does everything for you all from the touch of a button, it even has a built in timer – but I recommend allowing 10mins before first using to read manual to learn about functions).
The mixer has 10 speed settings (use the control dial) which offers a huge range of speed settings to cater for any recipe, it has a pulse function for short bursts of maximum speed, and a string of settings in-between for incorporating ingredients to whisked mixtures without knocking out all the air which is ideal for making meringue.
This Kenwood has built in system pro tool meaning that the mixer head rotates in a anti-clockwise direction allowing for a more efficient bowl coverage so that it mixers every bit of your mixture evenly.
This Kenwood mixer has the capacity and power to make several loaves of bread in one go. You can mix a huge 4.5kg of cake ingredients (ideal of making birthday/christmas cakes), up to 910g of pastry, 2.5kg dough at a time or fluff up to 16 egg whites at once.
Has a built in 1400W Powerful ChefMotor, this makes the mixer very quiet when in use.
The mixer weighs 15kg its heavy and doesn’t move when in use.
I have many Kenwood products and this is by far the best mixer I have ever used from there range.
Comes with full manual and a quick start guide (which shows everything you need to know)
The quality is want I come to expect from Kenwood (nothing more than high quality)
Comes with a 10 year warranty (on the motor).
A large range of attachments are available purchase.
The mixer is very stylish and looks well on your kitchen counter top.
A must have for any passionate baker. I’m sure this mixer will be indispensable in the kitchen and will cater your baker needs for many years.
Couldn’t recommend this mixer highly enough.

    Fabulous food mixe

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis really is an astonishingly impressive machine. Aesthetically, it is quite beautiful with the design, body construction and bowls, whisks etc incredibly well made. It’s a really good example of the harmony of beauty and function.

I confess to being a little intimidated by it at first, but, despite the technology involved in touch screen and unexpected features like bowl warming and weighing included within the design, it rapidly becomes apparent that it is very simple to use. As with anything these days it takes a minute or two to get one’s head around things. and unlike many one buys, it isn’t gimmicky: all features serve a worthwhile purpose.

We have made bread, a sponge cake, flapjacks and meringues using the machine and everything has turned out really well AND easier to make.

Though I often make bread using pretty much no knead methods, the machine can be used to give very short, or typically longer kneads to dough, AND raise the temperature of the dough for proving. The handy bowl cover keeps the dough (in this case) from drying out while keeping the proofing heat in, and has a trap door for tidy additions of all ingredients. Even when doing a longer, more traditional knead, the machine is rock solid stable with no tendency to ‘walk’.

The weighing feature is an incredible boon too, just another feature that minimises counter top clutter and helps to avoid getting flour etc everywhere. I also love the bowl illumination which comes into its own because the ‘head’ of the mixer is big enough to limit light and visibility: the light enable you to see everything clearly, definitely not a gimmick.

And did I forget the timer?

    Are there negatives?
Well, it’s big and heavy. You need to think about where to store it and probably won’t want it low down or high up in a cupboard. It takes up a good deal of counter space, and the 3 beater heads that cannot be stored mounted in the machine need a home too, so NOT for use in a bedsit or tiny kitchen with very limited storage. It’s VERY expensive, definitely a luxury item, but I have no doubt that this is one of those lifetime purchases: buy this for a foodie couple with a reasonably sized kitchen, and i doubt they will think of replacing it for several decades. (The machine seems to be a real workhorse.) And if you go down this route, the accessories that can be bought, the sort of things like blenders and coffee grinders that people buy, can be added, and because they live of the motor in the kenwood, should be smaller.

I CAN’T say this is a bargain, or a necessity, but I’m pretty sure that anyone seriously considering getting a top range appliance of this kind should give it due consideration. If you have the money for it, i doubt very much that you will regret buying it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA beautiful and highly versatile piece of kitchen equipment aimed at bakers, if you love baking and it matters to you it doesn’t get much better than this Kenwood Titanium Chef Patissier XL Stand Mixer.

If you can, try to have a friend present when you unpack the mixer – and not just so you can witness their deep envy. The box it comes in is huge and the package weighs more than 15kg so you do need to be very careful when removing the mixer – metal cased, not plastic – from the box.

Okay, for a moment don’t think about that price tag. Consider that this is a supremely functional stand mixer from a British heritage brand that dates back to the late 1940s which looks great and will save you time, time and again, probably for many years. This is more investment than casual buy, a state-of-the-art brand new for 2021 stand mixer aimed at bakers – that’s you and me.

Every aspect of this Kenwood mixer has been carefully thought out to maximise the range of tasks it will efficiently perform. The add and weigh function means ingredients may be added straight to the mixing bowl, a great time saver – no need to drag out the scales and it’ll save on washing up too. The mixer comes with two nesting stainless steel bowls – 7L and 5L – the larger of which is an Easy Warm bowl, an exclusive feature unique to Kenwood. You can take the bowl from a low heat required to soften fats, say, to a heat that’s perfect for Swiss meringues, melting chocolate – or proving bread in a third less time.

i like a light above the bowl when mixing a cake – helps to check how the batter’s doing and lets you see to scrape the bowl sides now and again to incorporate into the rest of the mixture. Every little detail has been thought of by Kenwood. There’s even a light above the bowl which comes on automatically when you switch on the mixer.

I’ve owned a Kitchen Aid Classic for several years – it’s very good but this Kenwood Titanium Chef Patissier XL is truly some levels above the competition. I’ve added various attachments over the years to the Kitchen Aid but had to purchase an extra bowl, though I think two bowls are more or less essential for a baker – and indeed that’s what you get with this Kenwood, both of a decent capacity too. A wide range of attachments are available for the Kenwood stand mixer also, including one that’ll give it a food processor/chopper functionality which could well be the first extra I buy.

Not being all that technically minded, i was a little concerned this mixer, with its numerous features, range of pre-sets and touch screen technology may be beyond me – and maybe you love baking but feel the same? Don’t worry! A comprehensive – but short – manual is included along with a brilliant little illustrated Quick Start Guide that’ll tell you all you need to know in a nutshell.

This is clearly a considered purchase for many but if you’re in the market for a stand mixer that looks amazing and has unequalled functionality, look no further. The handsome titanium grey colour will complement most kitchens and actually appears a very neutral hue. I believe this Kenwood Titanium Chef Patissier XL will give many years of good service. Guaranteed for a year, the motor – which tends to be the most vulnerable part in food mixers – is guaranteed for TEN years and I know people whose Kenwoods from the 1960s are still going strong. And surely that solid square form of the Kenwood stand mixer, so little changed since its inception, is as iconic a design as was ever produced?

Iconic, state of the art kit for those who love to bake...

Great mixer as usual from Kenwood.

Kenwood mixers are by far my favourite mixers on the market.

I have other gadget with this brand and I think it’s great for me

    – Fully computerised functionality, with no properly manual options
    – Does not ‘walk’ on worktop when kneading dough
    – When inbuilt electronic scale is in use, the entire machine is sensitive to pressure
    – Wider range of attachments will fit, requiring newer TWIST fitting (or BAR to TWIST adaptor) for slow speed (front) outlet; and larger XL/Major size for bowl
    – Controls perhaps not the most intuitive for owners of previous Chef/Major models (the dial doesn’t control speed manually!)

    Review updated 10/02/2021

The Kenwood Chef is the original, classic stand mixer – first produced in 1950. We’ve had Kenwood Chefs in our family for as long as I can remember – Grandma had one, Mum has one that Dad bought for her in the 1990s and is still going strong. This is my third Kenwood Chef (one died – after more than a decade – after being dropped during a kitchen remodel, and I have a basic model that’s been my go-to until this arrived) — and it’s the first one that has really needed quite a bit of getting used to versus other models. It’s easy to use, but really quite different and although it’s rather wonderful, takes some getting used to.

This large size Kenwood Chef XL version is a smart, grey, solid bodied-machine with silver-coloured accents and a pair of nesting metal bowls. The larger, 7l bowl is made from shiny steel, and has a pair of handles on the outside; the smaller, 5l bowl is made from brushed steel and is handle-free. The larger bowl has graduated volume markings etched in to the sides — running between 1 and 4.5 litres, in 0.5l increments. The smaller bowl is unmarked. Despite its size, the 7L bowl fits comfortably in the bottom shelf of our dishwasher. Since I first wrote this review, I notice another reviewer has submitted content indicating that the 7L bowl cannot be put in the dishwasher because it gets heated. This is hogwash. Both bowls are – per the manual, which you can check via the manufacturer website – completely dishwasher safe. The heated element is built in to the machine itself.

The machine comes with the three standard attachments familiar from years of Kenwood kitchen machines (a dough hook, a whisk and a ‘K’ beater); as well as a (new addition) silicone-edged attachment for creaming (this is such a good attachment, but needs butter to be really soft before starting); a two-part splashguard bowl cover; a heat resistant spatula; and a heat resistant dough scraper. I was really pleased to note that the attachments that come with this are the stainless steel versions, as these are truly dishwasher safe — unlike the aluminium versions of the K beater and dough hook supplied with less expensive models, which end up going powdery on the surface and discolouring if put in a dishwasher. The included attachments are all larger-sized versions designed to reach to the bottom of the 7L bowl.

All settings including heat (if wanted) and speed on the Chef Pattisier XL are automated and controlled via a touch screen interface and you can select settings for heat, speed, and time (or the selection of a preset). For me, the unexpected bit was the the dial on the side of the machine that looks like a typical speed control dial familiar from generations of Kenwood Chef/Major models is actually used to make electronic rather than mechanical adjustments to the timer/heat settings/speed; and (by pressing the centre) to act as a start/pause button.

So far, the new feature I’m most happy with on this machine is the heated dough proving function. We’ve been making almost all of our own bread since the first lockdown last March. It had become much harder to get a decent rise with the colder, wetter days of Autumn and Winter, with bowls of dough needing to take up residence in the airing cupboard for a couple of hours before baking and rise time proving far more erratic. Using the heating function on this machine, a basic bread dough completes a good first rise inside about 40 minutes — and after that the second prove, after transferring to baking tins, seems to go faster with the Chef Patissier XL machine pre-warmed dough. This consistent, reliable, gentle warming of dough is really, really useful. Using the preset kneading programs there is no sign of the machine ‘walking’ on the worktop whilst kneading dough: something that had been a problem with some previous Chef models I’ve used.

The inbuilt weighing scale, works really well, though needs care. The manual and online descriptions refer to the ability of the inbuilt scale to weigh not only things put in to the bowls, but also things put in to attachments added to the high and low speed outlets. What isn’t mentioned is that touching anywhere on the body of the machine seems to have an effect on the scale, so you need to to ensure that there’s no accidental pressure on any part of the machine/attachments whilst adding ingredients. Scale can be reset at a touch of the screen, so it’s very easy to use.

I have, once, had an error message from this – when mixing a cake using the preset sponge settings I have had an error message indicating that the machine was overheating and needed to be turned off. I did so, and there were have been no further problems.

In addition to its basic stand mixer functions, one of the big strengths of the Kenwood Chef is the range of attachments which can be bought to go with it, for use with the multiple outlets on the machine — many of which can be used interchangeably between models. The lasagne roller, multi mill, and mincer I bought for use with my older, standard size Chef model will all work with this. This machine has a slightly different style of connector for attachments to go on the low speed outlet than had traditionally been used on older models (up to around the mid-2010s), but the availability of an adaptor means that even some of the older attachment types can be used. The high and low speed outlets for attachments are neatly integrated into the top of the mixer. Both outlets are concealed behind cover plates that are helped to stay in place with magnets.

This is a mighty machine. I would probably never have stretched to the extra cost for this machine had it not been offered through Vine. Not because it seems unreasonable, but because my existing machine was a good, sturdy thing with a lot of life left in it, and replacing it did not seem necessary.

Wonderful, and very different. Has dishwasher-safe stainless steel beaters

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWow where to begin to review this mixer, everything about it is excellent. Out of the box the mixer is easy to set up, comes with the usual leaflets/instruction manual but honestly it feels so intuitive, every bit of it is so well designed you hardly need to pour over a manual. The initial impression, just looking at the machine is the quality, the colour is understated, not that should matter but it does, this mixer feels like it should stand centre piece in your kitchen, well looked after vital bit of baking kit. Although this is definitely an XL size mixer, its surprising compact so fits under most wall cupboards on a work surface.

There are 2 stainless steel mixing bowls 5L and 7L, I’ve only used glass bowls before so was a bit unsure about metal, thought they would make scraping noise or scratch. I needn’t have worried, both bowls are brilliant and no scratching. The larger bowl is a proving bowl which is a great addition. The bowls locate with a turn and click which keeps them steady but very easy to remove. An old mixer I had the bowl was so hard to fit and take out I got frustrated with it.

A massive plus is this mixer has built in weighing scales! What a time saving, less mess making idea. The mixer can also warm ingredients as well as prove. The very easy to use touch screen control is another way to help get baking and baking well. There are 4 attachments, K beater, dough hook, whisk and creamer. The whisk is exciting, I know that sounds silly but again my old mixer’s whisk looked like it was made in the 70’s and was small and compact so never really whisked that well. This is big and bulbous shaped which allows more air to whisk through your ingredients. Also the creamer is rubbery which means every little bit gets creamed and does not stick to the sides untouched.

Opening the mixer – ie lifting it backwards is simple and can be done with one hand, click and it lifts back, push down and it clicks shut. There is store compartment on top of the machine which is empty. Noise level is great, no harsh sounds, this is a very slick machine.

As for the bakes, it can do all the hard work for you to create strong breads, delicate cake mixes and gives you so many options to control everything you do that I definitely felt a bit ‘masterchef’ while using this Kenwood
