It is really a different dimension of kitchen equipment. For years my wife was ‘hinting’ that the TV chefs always have this fantastic mixer. So I finally bought it and couldn’t believe her reaction. She got tears in her eyes and was overwhelmed. No top up on my monthly sex allowance though
What can I say, the best mixer ever, if you thinking about getting one, think no more you will not be sorry
This item is quite pricey, but it is strong, robust and will definitely stand the test of time. I went for a neutral colour but next time I’d go for something more vibrant. The Motor is super strong, and can mix anything, perfect for breads, doughs, cakes etc. all comes apart easily to clean. Would definitely recommend
Disappointed had to pay delivery on such an expensive product plus it said fee delivery and Amazon prime offer confusing as if more clear would have taken it up
Like:- Every thing about it shouts quality
Im a bread baker so its relativly heavy work this breezes it
Easy to clean easy to use
You gets what you pay for
The “Rolls Royce” of mixers
What to say, it’s a quality product, easy to use, fits in any home
Works as it should. Made bread & pasta so much easier to make, and the pasta attachments are absolutely superb.
When you consider how much the mixer and attachments are separately, feels like a steal.
Loved the pasta attachment. Use it several times a week. Lock down pasta is our new favourite food
Actual machine is a spare as my old one is starting to struggle ( over use) will be careful not to put whisk in dishwasher as last one turned black . Will also order a metal k beater as white one chips easily
Received my kitchen aid and looks like a great product however, really disappointed to see that APPLIANCES ON LINE have the same product for sale for 299 with a guarantee for 5 years.
Love my kitchen aid! Use it for baking all the time. Came with a foot missing, but was sent out without any fuss. The 3 attachments are easy to remove, clean and replace. It is expensive, however, heavy weighted but a great product!
As noted in other reviews it doesn’t initially reach the bottom. However, there is an adjustment screw that you can use to set to the correct depth detailed in the manual. study multi use product with a plethora of attachments.
This brilliant little machine is quite an expensive purchase but will hopefully last for many years to come. I’m not an experienced baker but have managed to whip up a couple of cakes already. I’ve also bought the grating attachments which grates in seconds. Fab for shredded carrots, making coleslaw etc.
Best cakes made ever by this. I’ve had other cheap machines but had always been disappointed
Brilliant – wanted a stand mixer for so long! I am whipping up bread, cakes, cookies in no time.
I would say that this is the basic model so can only do upto 800g flour but that’s more than enough. We are a family of 4 and it suits us fine
Bought this KitchenAid Stand Mixer for my daughter and she’s thrilled with it. IMHO you won’t find a better mixer. I’ve had mine for years and I wouldn’t be without it, it’s such a quality product and never lets me down.
lovely mixer and looks great in the metallic silver grey.
We love our kitchen aid. Does most of our work now, particularly good for whipping! Sometimes I feel the attachments are not deep enough to reach the bottom of the bowl, meaning there’s often unmixed ingredients left in the bottom. Be sure to scrape this using a spatula
This makes an immediate impression as a stand out machine. Of course anyone considering this knows it is the best you can buy. In comparison with Kenwood it just works better. Results are always superb. My daughter is eagerly researching the additional fitments that are available. This will be the centrepiece of our kitchen for some time to come. I do some catering for special occasions so I can be sure that the results more than match the requirements.
This is a real statement piece, it looks stunning, I’m quite happy to have it out on show without even using it. Better still the missus does use it and she was over the moon to have a ‘KitchenAid Mixer’.
The mixer arrived in a rather neat and somewhat compact box, which was heavy and very well protected with a polystyrene inner. Out of the box the mixer stands proud, a solid piece of engineering constructed all from metal, supported by a 4L bowl and three attachments (dough hook, whisk and a flat beater) you have everything you need. The bowl locks to the base securely, the attachments clip on and off with ease and the mixer head moves into place through a smooth motion. At that point you are ready to start mixing, the 10 speeds allow you to start slow and then pick up the pace to get the perfect mix, blend or whisk.
Further attachments can be purchased and used from the front of the mixer, expensive but nice to have attachments around one device instead of loads of stand alone.
So to the taste test, I love a good Victoria sponge, and luckily the missus loves baking — no pressure!. The cake batter was a very smooth mix which made for a good rise, then to the butter cream filling the cake was great, which I’d love to say was all down to the mixer but good ingredients, an oven that cooks evenly and the cook had a contributing factor.
Because there are only a few attachments and the bowl is easily removed, cleaning only takes a few minutes.
The price tag is a big obstacle but this is a device that will be handed down through the generations, a timeless classic, there are other brands out there but for this sort of build quality you will find that the better ones are around this sort of price. (Current price on Amazon 347.24).
This stand mixer is really rewarding for a cooking enthusiast like me, it is easy to use and delivers excellent results, it blends very good and easily. It comes with three accessories, a flat beater, a wire whip and a dough hook. Can be used it to make cakes, buttercream and other types icings and fillings and also bread dough among others.
There’s a variety of attachments available (not included) that can be plugged in the multi-purpose hub located in the front area of the motor’s head. Pasta rollers/cutters, all kinds of food shredders, grinders, even juicers and sausage stuffers are among the options. I have had the chance to try the pasta roller/cutter set and the food grinder and I’m quite happy with the results so far.
This is not an industrial stand mixer but don’t get me wrong the build is very sturdy, all-metal body (zinc alloy), it’s a little bit heavy as expected considering how robust it is and the materials being used making it moderately difficult to constantly move from one place to another but it also means it will stand very still even at top speed fully loaded. This is definitely a strong appliance designed to last and should be ok for any kind of home cooking project. By the way it is made in USA, a rare fact nowadays.
This a very easy to use appliance, old school, retro look beautiful simply design. Two levers, one in each side of the motor’s head. One for locking/unlocking the tiltable head (spring loaded, it locks automatically when the head is down). The other one is the speed control lever ranging from 1 to 10. The mixing bowl can be locked in place by turning it gently onto the clamping plate. Bowl and accessories are easy to remove and wash. Lifting the head will expose an adjustment screw that can be used to set the beater to bowl clearance, is adjusted at the factory but, in my case, I have had to lower it a little bit, just enough to clear the surface of the bowl. It’s a very fine adjustment but very easy to do, instructions are included in the user’s manual.
After a few cakes been made I must say my mixes have been very smooth, light and fluffy, definitely better than with my previous mixer.
Some things I wish could be better are the lever knobs made of plastic, I haven’t had any issues yet and cheap replacement parts are available on Amazon but is something that doesn’t feel as sturdy as everything else. The silver band could have been fastened more tightly to the mixer head to prevent dust/food from falling behind it; removing two screws from both ends will allow the band to be removed for cleaning purposes though. The power cord is a little bit on the short side at just 1m (3.2ft) from the head not from the base.
This is a fantastic mixer, a great all arounder, a truly good kitchen assistant. If you like to cook and bake this a very good stand mixer to consider. If you could get it for around 350 or less it would undoubtedly be excellent value for money.
This is a difficult product to review. Simply because for me it’s so outstanding at what it does that it’s almost an ‘every home should have one’ item. The problem right now is that it’s being sold for around 250 more than in other places. Yes, that is a lot. Yes, I did check the exact model. Anyway, Amazon does many things well and so you may choose to buy despite the cost. But do also consider that it’s bigger sibling, the Artisan model, can be had for 100+ less and IMO if you’re spending 400 or so then that is the way to go.
Performance wise this Classic does it all and does it outstandingly well. It also looks absolutely gorgeous if you’re into the retro appliance look (I am). Build quality feels superb. I can’t see this falling apart any time soon. Compared to my existing mixer … well it’s just not a comparison at all, so let’s forget that!
You get a beater, whisk and dough hook included and can also buy various add ons separately, including a front mounted pasta maker and grinder. Handy. My only irritant is around whisking (I think it’s whisking) I needed 3 large eggs to get the whites whisked … maybe even four would have been better. The problem is the whisk attachment doesn’t quite reach far enough. It managed a heavy chunk of butter making tho – a good 500g load – and didn’t gasp at all. Totally in its stride and it came out well.
I’d say noise wise it is pretty good. Mixers are not silent by any means but the Classic is a smooth sounding machine compared to my whining, high pitched Morphy Richards. But it’s also fair to say the the MR costs around 25% of the KitchenAid price and does most of what the KitchenAid does, but much noisier and with less poise and confidence.
So we come back to cost ultimately. It looks great, performs close to perfectly, sounds professional, is built like a tank, but costs 500+. Compared to way cheaper brands, even KitchenAids own more up market sibling, I just struggle to recommend the Classic right now. Shop around tho because I have seen it around the 350 mark. At that price, if your a serious kitchen user, the Classic becomes very attractive. Watch Amazon too … the price may well reduce.
