The only hurdle I’m using these is the learning curve. The cap you’re supposed to you on the right thumbstick is pretty high, even though it’s not the highest one (I think), so using it while having to press the buttons (ABXY) was uncomfortable and I never got used to it.
In the end, I ended up using the cap designed to be used in the left thumbstick on the right one. It helps less than the taller one, but it’s better than having the bare thumbstick.
Would I recommend? If you can, try before you buy. That’s my bottom line.
Son loves them makes give have even better aim in FPS games.
A friend recommended I bought some of these after he noticed how rubbish I was at shooting enemies on The Division (xBoxOne). Its a simple idea that requires no physical modification of the xBoxOne controller. Just pop them into place and away you go. I can now scatter bullets around the enemies with slightly more accuracy than before.
Well worth the buy, would highly recommend, increased my aim drastically.
Either these things have improved my capacity to aim or the placebo effect has taken place. Either way I’m happy with these. It comes with a short one for movement and a long stick for aiming. Makes sense really.
I’m a huge fan of these joystick extenders. Of note though, the right stick is the longest length and is convex (bubbles upward like the stock PS3 controller), while the left one is medium length and is concave (bubbles inward like xbox controllers).
Took a couple hours to get used to as these were my first thumb sticks but can’t play without them now. For anyone else new these are a good place to start.
Time will tell if it’s a well “invested” 20 something bucks.
Coming from an elite user (which grips & joysticks decided to pack their bags & head south). Ofc, this is the cheaper choice after owning an elite that commited sudoku.
A month or so in, I’m still liking the larger and higher aspect of the joystick while providing good grip.
Nice to have the analog extensions, easier on the thumbs. As for increased accuracy and all that, not sure of. I can say that they are more comfortable on the hand placement which is a pro of itself.
Just bought a SECOND pair of these after having the first set almost 2 years. For me, cant play without these, really helps my game on FPS shooters (BF1, SWBF2). The convex/concave combo is great, I like the swirl patter on the sticks. Not sure how others are complaining about durability. Would recommend without hesitation.
The aiming stick is great (the larger one). Really grippy, feels great to use. The movement t stick however is just slippery? I’m not sure if it’s the shape of it (concave instead of convex) but I do find my thumb slipping on the middle of it. Luckily, the edges are quite sticky, so it does work that way.
Update, I still use these to this day. They are pretty amazing, they have fallen apart but some super glue does the trick
I wish I got these sooner.. I’ve been playing my whole life- since I could, literally, pick up a controller (top in the world in many games)- and, on top of that, I play guitar alot- which leads to loss of blood flow in my hands (esp my right- “claw hand”). These things not only make the controller more comfortable, but also increase accuracy/PRECISION… do it..
The only downside is that if I don’t clean them off every hour they get slick and my thumbs slide around on them easily. Otherwise I love them. I think glueing sand paper on them would actually work better. I like them for pubg.

When you take them off the sticks feel a lot less responsive and generally just harder to control.
I have found that they can lose their grip a bit when your hands get hot and a little clammy. It would be better if they were a bit stickier, but on the whole I would seriously recommend these to anyone that spends a lot of time gaming. I’ve noticed a definite increase in control whist playing both Fortnite and COD.
For those worried about them falling off, well they dont. The only times mine have come off are when I’ve dropped the controller. The way they fix on is very solid.

Takes a while to get used to if you have never used them before, especially the taller stick for the right thumb but after i got used to them i have noticed a difference in my aiming and a huge difference in comfort when i play for extended periods of time. I think I would have a hard time going back to not having them now.
Bought this item a couple of months ago and has really enhanced my gaming experience definitely worth the money. Overall thumb sticks have good grip and are durable.
Only issue is that the thumb sticks start to wear off after a while.
At first these were hard to get used to but when I did I got 7 back to back chicken dinners. these really helped me improve my thumb stick movement speed with its textured thumb sticks. I will be getting another pair of these for my other controller but another color.
I love these, I bought them on a reccomendation from a youtube video. First few games with them took a bit of getting used to but soon I really noticed it improved my targeting and overall KD. I can’t imangine playing without them.They are easy to use, easy to install. The tops feel great on the thumbs especially the concave one. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is a big fan of first person shooters. My only issue is, now that I have been using for a few months, on occassion I find my thumb slipping off from time to time. But overall I really like these and think that they do improve aiming & movement accuracy and control. I didn’t think far ahead to track a before and after stats, so I can give a real scientific review, but it does feel like my gameplay has improved. I went in and adjusted my sensitivity setting way up, since I felt like I had so much more control, and I think this has helped my game play as well.
I do think they are a little pricey, but I am really glad I bought them!
Shipping was good, it came in two days like predicted. The grips really help with aiming on games such as fortnite and call of duty. Worth the buy if you have the money. Fit the controller well and probably will last for at least a year. Highly recommend these and the inferno KontrolFreeks.
They’ve taken some of the rubber off my analogue sticks on my xbox but they’ve defo improved my already mad CoD skills! I now understand what people meant but “I can’t play without them”
The vortex took a couple games to get used to, but they doubled my accuracy and KD. The difference is most noticeable when in medium – Long range gun fights. Ive been through a couple pairs of these because the rubber falls off the hard plastic after heavy use. I refuse to play without them though, definitely worth the price.
Its true, these make playing with a high vertical and horizontal sensitivity a breeze. Prior to getting these, I had is set at 4, now I can play with any setting lower than 8. Highly recommended.
I’m super impressed with how these improved my accuracy. In an avid gamer, especially with FPS. It took about 5 mins to get adapted to how these felt and how they work with my current sensitivity settings. I had to drop sensitivity a few notches to compensate. But they really do work. I just wish they were both concave instead of the right stick being convex. Minor complaint though.
Works great when playing games like destiny or other PVP games
Haven’t had enough time to really figure out if it has improved my game, but it does help control the sticks better. Time will tell if it really is helping.

These are just great. I was a little skeptical at first but I do feel as though they have improved my accuracy. Even if they haven’t, they are still super comfortable to use and I couldn’t play without them now. Recommended.
Great product and works very well. I have fairly small hands and they still work fairly well for me. It took a couple games for me to get used to them but after that I really did notice a big difference in my aim.

hey are really good if you take gaming very seriously as all the pro gamers use these, only downside is that the one on the left is concave and the one on the right is convex, which they were the same as you have one to replace of the other one breaks or something, been using them for year and I don’t think I an use a controller without them, really good for fps
Ich mische den Vortex mit den KontrolFreek CQCX, da ich am linken Stick gerne einen konkaven Aufsatz habe und rechts einen konvexen. Beim Vortex passt der sehr hohe konvexe aber nicht wirklich zu meinem Play-Style (Run and Gun, Rushing). Daher habe ich rechts den niedrigeren von den CQCX drauf. Beschert mir gleich ein besseres Aim und mehr Duell-Gewinne.
Aber was an der Kombination das beste ist, ist dass man einen Ersatz-Aufsatz fr Rechts hat, falls der eine sich mal ablst (das ist bei mir erst nach 3 Jahren beim Vortex passiert, halten also wirklich lange auch bei exzessiven Spielen), da beide Aufstze des CQCX die gleiche Hhe haben.
Bought these a year ago and was pretty horrified that I spent 15 on 2 blobs of rubber..but actually theyre amazing.my son has used them.for a full year..his friend tried them and was also amazed at the improvement of control.
These are amazing !! I can’t belive it took me so long to buy them. They take a couple of hours of getting used to as well HOWEVER they will not make you a god overnight. They help for snapping onto targets and it’s unreal how much it helps.
I also bought the kontrol freeks grip and it is amazing with these.
These really do help especially with first person shooter games like COD blacks ops. I tried playing without them and I felt naked without them. There’s more overall control and comfort over all and helps so much in increasing your accuracy. Thought they were a little overpriced but I’m glad I bought them.

Immediately noticed improved stabilization while aiming in FPS. I have large hands and before using the Vortex, it was clumsy to pull the R1 trigger while manipulating the right stick for fine aim control. With the taller Vortex stick, the controller now fits in my hand nicely. Would recommend to anyone who plays FPS!
Comes with two different size grips both have different grip and feel and the rubber does not lose it's grip
They’re weird at first, but after a while my KD in infinite warfare went from 0.95 to 1.3 in just the two months after i got them, tried playing without them and i realised how good they really are. I only use the smaller concave one on the right stick and i keep the bigger one off because my hands are two small. All in all, they are worth it and i though that i wouldn’t buy the cheaper alternatives because i knew that i would use it a lot so definitely go for one made by control freek.

I am happy to report that these little lovelies have exceeded my every expectation. First, the build quality is great, the sticks feel very grippy and just a little supple. Second, they only took a few matches of play–jacking up stick sensitivities and adjusting accordingly–to really get used to (also, clicking of the L and R sticks still remains surprisingly easy). Last on the list was actual gameplay improvement. Wow. After a bit of “oversteer” I had everything dialed in. I especially noticed and really appreciate the ability to make fine adjustments or fine leans on the stick. This was especially apparent while playing Battlefield one. If anyone out there has played this gem, you will know that the LMGs are squirrely as hell. The amount of fine finesse I could place on the stick was adequate for controlling the rise of the LMGs (Lewis Gun especially) during sustained fire.
I would highly recommend this particular product. I am looking forward to trying out other offerings from Kontrol Freek as well as picking up another few boxes of Vortex extensions. They are now a favorite that I don’t want to play without.

When i was buying this product I was afraid that the stick height would be too high, and maybe a little uncomfortable. I was wrong, I read that it may take a couple of times playing to get used to the change, almost instantly it felt a lot more comfortable.
Do they do what they say and increase accuracy? I haven’t turned into a god since I bought these but one thing is for sure, I cannot play without them anymore. I took them off very briefly, I hated it and I couldn’t shoot straight!
Are they worth it? For me personally yes, it makes for a much more comfortable experience.
If you’re debating just buy it, it’s not that expensive worth a try!
Delivered on time and do exactly what they say they will do. I am a pretty average pvp player on destiny but my KD has gone from 1.0 to 2.0 in a month. KF’s DO NOT MAGICALLY MAKE YOU A BETTER PLAYER but they make the mechanics of PVP easier to control and this is why u improve. Both aiming and then staying on the target are just so much easier and smoother using KF’s. Please note that you may need to revisit your game sensitivity settings once you start using KF’s as they make that much difference. I played at 3 sensitivity on destiny and after playing around I have now settled on 6 sensitivity and feel pretty comfortable. EXCELLENT PRODUCT.

The grip on the covers themselves are a silicone styled coating over a plastic, and are formed into a spiral for the most grip out of them. They are connected to the analogue sticks with just by four small clips at bottom of the grips, this makes changing them over very quick and easy.
I would highly recommend these as they not only help you perform better within the game but also preserves the controllers analogue sticks for even longer!
I’ve recently been playing xbox more often so i thought id try them out. From my personal experienceI found they did seem to enhance my gameplay especially on first person shooters like Battlefield 4.
They are very good if you into using snipers on first person shooters because they make the movement more smooth. When I comared the movement without them on to with them on I realised that without them the sticks were surprisingly jolty and stiff but with them on it was more smooth.
I even notices a slight difference when playing Forza too.
I would recommend trying these out if you are willing to spend the money, they do take a little getting used to but are pretty good in my eyes.
You may also need to alter your hand position slighty to get more comfortable when holding the controller.

El artculo me gusto mucho ya que el joystick se eleva de su altura regular lo que ayuda al pulgar a tener mejor dominio de los movimientos. El paquete llego mucho antes de tiempo.. solo no me percat que uno de los botones es ms alto que el otro pero al utilizarlos no caus problema ya que as es la idea.. que un botn sea ms alzado que el otro y tu los coloques como ms te acomodes. Upon receiving this product I was immediately put off with the packaging. The container had clearly been opened before; my dreams of Halo glory nearly peeled off like the tape on the package had previously been. These fears were put to rest as I found the product itself in perfect condition.
Before using the vortex my accuracy percentage was an abysmal 40%. The upgrade from Halo 4 to 5 had not been kind to me. After snapping on the freeks my accuracy jumped to a still crappy 58%. An improvement nonetheless. I was able to increase my sensitivity from a 5 to an 8. My number of “perfect kills” per match, took a step up as well.
If this is a result of a placebo effect, I wouldn’t be surprised, but at least I’m sucking less. Steven Tyler told me to dream on, Kontrol Freeks’ Vortexes are pulling my dreams of Halo dominance a little close

Ive tried a selection of different kontrol freaks and I believe these to be the best. I mainly play FPS based games but they also come in handy when playing racing games like Forza.
The grip pattern is very good and they don’t wear down too quickly, also the height on the longer stick gives you far more control on high sensitivity.

Great product definitley improves aim, just takes a bit of getting used to but you’ll never want to go back.
When I first discovered this product, I was skeptical. I decided to give them a shot and I am glad I did. I will never play without KontrolFreek. I am using this on my Scuf controller which has stock analog sticks. It does take some time to adjust but it did improve my gameplay.

I like them. They provide more reliable grip and basically eliminate any slippage. I’ve had them for a while now, and the vortex patterns have not worn off. They do get a bit dirty, but they clean up fine with some multi-surface spray. I don’t think I would attribute any significant change in my accuracy in FPS games, but I have grown very comfortable with the lopsided sticks.
I heard a bunch of positive reviews for these helping with aim and control and at first I thought they were crazy, but I now find these really helpful. They are super weird at first and will hurt your game performance until you get use to them (probably a good idea to lower your sensitivity some with these), but once you get the hang of it, your aim becomes much easier to control and the extra grip is a big plus as well.
My son loves them as they have given him more accuracy when snipering on call of duty ,etcetera
Definitely helped accuracy in battlefield, especially mid/long range. Would highly recommend.
It took a few hours gameplay to get use to them but now wouldn’t go back. Obviously depends on game style and hand size so might not suit everyone but found them really comfortable and the longer right hand stick alleviated the strain on my thumb.
Overall improved my gameplay and experience but have to be prepared to suck for a couple of hours before your muscle memory sorts itself out.
The tall stick produced fatigue on my thumb, I ended up removing it and putting the shorter stick on my right thumb and running no FPSFREEK on my left. Aiming is better with these once you get used to them. You will not slip off these things!
It’s great I don’t use this for cod I use it for gears of war and they are pretty good the left one is like curved inward and the right one is like a curved upward like a mushroom when if first put them on the analog sticks feel a bit loose but you’ll get used to it pretty quick you only get one pair no spares and the little plastics that help the control freeks snap is feels like if you remove them and put them back over and over it feels like it will break they are so small but it isn’t cheap plastic tho you won’t even pay mind to it if you have them on you don’t have to put any more pressure than what you have to do to use the “knifing” buttons for any of you cod fans out there the left one has a little grip but the one right one has more grip because obviously that’s the one you need to turn in a 360 in cod the set up is easy just snap them on no struggling to snap them on and off

Took a bit to get use to the feel but did what they advertise.
I was a bit skeptical about how well these would work, but I must say I’m pleasantly surprised. They really give you better control over your games and makes short movements really easy. It doesn’t work well for all games, especially when they don’t put sensitivity sliders, but it works really well for shooters and games that need lots of precision. I also really like the orange look against the Xbox One controller. May take some getting used to the height addition, but it won’t take you very long.
I thought this was just a gimmick. After I put them on, it did take me a few games to get used to them being on but after a few hours of playing they felt like they have always been a part of the controller. As for the claims of improving your score, I will admit that I found myself having a easier time aiming.

On a trip to my local electronics store last week, I noticed Kontrol Freeks Phantom series controller stick extenders. I was skeptical about the claims of improving my gaming but, they were on sale so, I figured I could try and return if they didn’t work.
My normal look sensitivity on a scale of 1-10 is usually around 3-5 (old man slow) which is the default for most FPS games. One of my boys plays at 8/9 in FPS and usually has more success at multi-player and single player than I ever have.
I installed the Phantom extenders and dove into Destiny to test them out…… WOW! That is a good word to describe what I think about the Kontrol Freek products. It did take a few minutes to get used to the extended sticks and with the look sensitivity on 3, i felt like I was in slow motion. I adjusted the LS up to 6 and was surprised to find it still seemed too slow to me. So, I jacked the LS up to 9 and soon found I could Kontrol the aiming with much more Kontrol than I’ve ever had.
To sum things up, I’ve settled on 7/8 LS and my multi-player skills have basically doubled in less than a week. The longer range of the stick allows me to aim much smoother and faster than ever. I ordered and received the Kontrol Freek Vortex today and I love that it has the long and short extenders and the protruding long extender is even better than the cupped Phantom I started with. The stick just roles with my thumb instead of my thumb dipping into the sticks pit.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I would definitely recommend this to gamers with longer fingers and to older shooters that may be a little slow on the draw (look speed). Great job KF!
These grips have increased my k/d ration on COD Advanced Warfare. It gives you so much control that it allowed me to increase my sensitivity from 4 to 13. This allows me to quickly sight in on other players unlike before where before I was a little bit slower because I couldn’t turn my sensitivity up past 4 because my gun would be all over the place. I wish I had known about these grips along time ago.
work an absolute treat, suffer with arthritis in my right hand so the lift these give me is incredible as i can keep my thumb straight rather than bending it all the time so gets my vote as it helps keep the pain to a minimum, my gaming has improved and it it does give you a bit of an edge but it is something you got to work on it doesn’t happen straight away
These definitely feel better than the original X1 sticks. Softer to the touch and removes the pain in the thumbs from long sessions. Using the concave on the left means no slipping of the thumb when pressing in to sprint (CoD) or making sudden movements. The convex (domed) for the right is amazing, adds increased accuracy when twitching the stick to adjust aim, can even use a slightly higher sensitivity.
Only issue (not a product issue) is my hands are rather small, so I found it difficult to use the convex (domed) on the right for the first few hours of play. After that there was no issues, and the increase in accuracy due to the increased control given by longer lever soon came.
I cant play without these now, the original sticks feel weird. I do prefer the CQC on the right stick however, as it is shorter so feels more comfy for me.
I would love KontrolFreeks to bring out a pack with short concave for left (from Vortex), and short domed for right (from CQC). That would be perfect!!!
Very good, takes about a day or two to get use to but extremely well made and perfect.
