I have 3 twenty pounders, keeps them in the back most of the time. They do figure out that the middle is the week spot and will get over when I leave the car.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a MUST if you have dogs in the back of the car. It just provides that extra space and stability that they need. For me personally, I have the petego kar 9 tunnel, great bit of kit till the dogs walk to the front of the seat and they fall down. This solved the problem! They love it.

What I also did was use a sharp knife to remove the wood insert that goes into the centre bit that acts as a barrier. I prefer to see the dogs, as so they like to see us and we like to be able to open the front zip and feed them a treat.

By removing the hardboard/MDF inner, I then used the cover as a centre arm rest. Brilliant!

Couldn’t have asked for a better bit of kit. I did look at those inflatable footwell things. No point as they don’t provide the firm platform that this does and when I’m packing to gomaway with the dogs, the footwell is valuable storage space. All the dogs bits go there.

This works the best for my dog. I’ve tried the hammock type, but she just broke the zippers trying to put her front paws on the console. I do modify this by cutting the board in the part that goes between the seats so I can lay it on the console.

This was best investment for my car. I broke my leg and had to sit sideways in back of car for a month while travelling. Couldn’t have been comfortable without the added space. It held up perfectly. My little dog loved it. No panic on falling to the floor. Much safer for pets.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersFits well in the gap between front and back seats of my 2010 Subaru outback. I have two dogs, one is 55-60 pounds and the other is 45-50 pounds, which I haul to the vet when needed and on a 14 hour one way car ride twice a year. I purchased this because I originally used a hammock in my backseat for my pups in order to keep my backseat clean. They weren’t able to see where the back seat ended, so they would constantly step on the gap section where there was only support from the hammock. This was starting to rip the hammock. This product has prevented farther damage to their hammock and they were more comfortable on the long ride, because they had more space to stretch out! It is easy to move the front seats as needed. I don’t often have more than one passenger with me, but this was super easy to unclip on one side in order to accommodate a person in the back along with the pups. Also, great for light groceries trips, as this is always in my car! One downside would be that with my vehicle the way the back seat sits (sloped down a little) and how I have my front seats adjusted the bridge doesn’t lay flush with the back seat. However for me this was an easy fix: I have a folded blanket laying under the hammock where the bridge doesn’t lay on my seat. I feel like this works because I use the hammock as well and the pups can’t move the blanket and also I use the headrest, not the seatbelts, to restraint my pups. I have only been using this for 2 months now, but is holding up well thus far.

I had to install my own boards to make it strong enough to support my dog (100 lb. lab). The original panels inside the cover were not strong enough and they broke.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally good product. I found it slightly fiddly at first to adjust all the straps properly but once I had done that it fitted really well without gaps, so it’s worth spending time getting it right. It has been fine for my fairly heavy (40kg) dog. My car has a driver seat which moves back and forward automatically when you get in/out of the car, and this isn’t a problem as the platform just moves with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe were having a problem with our elderly dog slipping between the back and front seats of our car. This has cured the problem. Although it has a limited width, 1ft width it works well on my car, which at the time was an Auris, now a Prius. However it does not fit in my wife’s car, a Yaris as the gap between the front and back seats is too wide. So with that proviso I would thoroughly recommend the product. The seat is very firm and it is easy to install and is reversible. I would say an essential piece of kit for anyone with a dog and no dog guard.

Use in my 2016 Sierra for my Spaniel and Weimaraner (total about 90lbs). Dogs can get excited and jump around all they want and it supports them. Easy to install or change for someone to sit on one side. Measure your vehicle to ensure it fits!

Just what I needed to keep my dog safe and comfortable. The only thing is that the barrier does not keep her from climbing into the front seat and onto my lap. I need to figure out how to improve that. Till then she’s tethered with a seat belt attachment and comfortable halter, she can still move around, lay down and look out the window which I wanted her to be able to do.

I’m only giving this 4 stars because the material is quite slippery, but I just velcroed some fleece material to it and it works perfectly. Worked great in our Honda Pilot. Fit perfect. Best to put something underneath like a cooler to bolster the support. Our dog likes to stand a lot and if we hadn’t bostered it I’m sure it woul have ripped. It’s just not meant for that type of abuse.

I bought it because I don’t want to worry about my dogs falling into the space in between the front seats and the back seats. But the thing is the seat extender moves and does not stay in between that space as intended. Maybe I am doing it wrong? Any feedback is appreciated.

It does in fact cover the gap and help prevent falls, but it does not sit flat with my seats (Hyundai Accent 09, sedan). This is a bit disappointing as it requires me to even out the seat with addition items (pillows or the like).

I have a ford escape. This dog bridge fit my car exactly. What I did also is put hard boxes under it on the floor where your feet would go to reinforce the bridge. My dog weighs 53 lbs. and it is sturdy enough for her. I recommend this car seat highly.

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this product sooner. My large golden retriever constantly attempts to help me drive. During long road trips the dogs legs would get tired and slip off the hump between the foot wells in the back seat. Now she lays, and sits in comfort.

I’ve had this in my car for 2 years, along with a stream of dog hammocks. It’s very sturdy. A bit fiddly to set up, but when combined with a hammock it gives a secure back seat for my dogs. As a bonus, the drinks/bottle holder is great and the Velcro pocket came in very handy for holding my documents when I drove to France. Doesn’t stop the dogs getting to the front if they’re determined so I’d recommend either seat belt attachments or a barrier across the good of the seats as well. Great value for money!

This is excellent. It took a little effort to get the straps adjusted but once that was done it was perfect. There was too much space on the back seat of the Hyundai ix35, and our medium size dog slid around and down into the hollows of the footwell even though he was clipped into a harness and strap. This Kurgo board solved many of our problems, easy to fit and has been a success.

This works great! It is sturdy for our 25 lb. dog and it makes him feel safe because he can’t be thrown in the floor of the car. We are using it in our Subaru which is mid size. Seems to me it has plenty of room to pull the seats forward and still have enough on the back seat to be secure. You can pack underneath the extender, too. I researched and decided this was the best for the money. The middle will pull down if the doggie puts his feet over the top of it.

We have had 2 mini schnauzer’s on it with no problems, and it seems to make them quieter, than in my estate car, so that’s all good, only slight downside the straps are not to good for adjusting.

Just like the other reviewers, it is a good product and I wish I had it years ago. The ride is easier on the dog as well as myself. She can sit comfortably and since she is not standing on the center console I don’t have to worry about her ending up in the front seat if I have to stop short.

As a side benefit, it makes it much easier to put things in the back seat of the truck (golf clubs, overnight bags etc) because of the flat surface, and I still have the room to put my backpack of tools and things underneath.

Works exactly as described for our 50lbs girl. We folded it to over so that it covered ~60% of the back seat of our Cmax and had no issues on two separate 3-4 hour road trips. This is a great product. I have always wanted to extend the back seat so the dog couldn’t fall off and this is working really well, plus she is now unable to get into the front seat (which she isn’t happy about). This works great on my extended cab 2500HD Chevy. it is a safe and secure way to cover that space between the back of the front seats and the beginning of the lower cushions of the back seat. Installs and adjusts easily. Just remember to NOT change the front seat setting while installed or you will rip something. I have a 55lb German Shepherd mix. I went through 3 unsuccessful brands of car barriers, until I invested in this one.

The first Kurgo barrier I bought lasted 8 months until my pup jumped in the car and the edging of the gap fell into the gap and snapped. Very unfortunate, but despite this, Kurgo is the only barrier that keeps my dog from coming into the front seat. If my pup damages this one, I’ll still invest in this barrier.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood product. I use it with a hammock on top and it means dogs can sit anywhere in the hammock without falling down the gap. However the base panels are foam and can bend if a lot of pressure is put on them. The middle upright panel seems to have an internal skeleton of a plastic sheet and mine has broken down the middle meaning it now fails to remain upright thus not keeping the dogs back in the back. It would be better if the internal skeleton materials which provide the strength were a little more strong while still being light.

Got this for long trips with my 60 pound and 25 pound dogs. They adapted to it right away. It wasn’t slippery for them at all. It didn’t sag when they stepped on it either. It’s bulky, but fairly easy to install. Give yourself enough time to adjust the length of all the straps the first time you use it.

I LIKE this but……….. would have been sooooo much better if the material used inside the device was Unable to bend! – I have it Under a back seat hammock that is filled with pillows and blankets to bring my crew up to window’s view…. but when I knelt in the back seat to adjust the straps… one of the segments folded up — it’s still fine for my 25 pound pups — but i wish it would not have done that!

I really like this design, just would like it to cover more of my seat and be a little more sturdier (this side bends a little when my pup jumps in the car). The middle part that goes between the seats doesn’t stand up very well and my pup will stand over it so I don’t use it and thankful that the design lets you adjust whether you want it up or down. I like that it’s reversable and cleans very very easy. I’ve taken some non slip material and laid it over this and my pup would slid a little during the ride. Love that it protects my leather seats, cleans up great and is very adjustable. I would recommend to all my friends and purchase again.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI installed this product in my Honda CRV last weekend. It fits the backseat perfectly, even with the driver’s seat a little further forward than the front passenger seat. It wasn’t difficult to adjust the straps so the platform is firmly attached to the front seats. One strap goes around the headrests, and second one goes around the front seats where the seat back meets the seat. It takes a few minutes to adjust the strap length to make sure the platform is level but it’s worth the time. You need to ensure a few inches of the platform are supported on the backseat.

One side of the product is a tan color, and the other size is dark grey, almost black. Either side can be up to best match your interior.

My two dogs, combined weight around 80 pounds, will be using this. I decided it would be wise to put a 15″ tall 10″ wide ice chest under the extender on the passenger side, and a couple of 15″ tall contractor’s bucket on the driver’s side. They will support the extender and make use of the space that might otherwise be wasted. I’ll update this review after we’ve used it on some longer drives.

I did not realize the middle “barrier” would not fit between the front seats of my Suzuki SX4. Not sure of the dimensions but the barrier sides don’t fold in so I think it would work as intended but I was really hoping I could fold it down since my dog loves to rest on the center console. Luckily- we can use it in my husband’s pick-up.

My dog was very comfortable using this seat extender. I had my son in the back of my Rav4 along with my 48 pound goldendoodle who is very long. On the way up to NY from FL my dog hardly had any space to lay down. Before we returned to FL I bought this seat extender. I had it going across half of the back seat and it worked perfectly. If I had one criticism it would be that the material is not soft so it can be slippery when the dog jumps into the car. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs more room in their backseat area.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a brilliant idea. I have two Yorkie pups who are very good at sitting in their bed on the back seat, but they had fallen to the floor once or twice. This keeps them safe and gives me peace of mind. It fits well and only took a few minutes to install. Bit fiddly trying to adjust the straps at the side of the driver and passenger seats, not much room to get my hand in as it was up against the door frame, however, this may be due to where my seat is positioned. Now that it is set up it should only take minutes to install or take out. It can be left in and just folded over to accommodate a backseat passenger if you are taking the dog(s) too. I would definitely recommend this.

We purchased this to fit in our smaller sized SUV before driving across the country. We wanted our dog to have the most space we could give her for the long drive. It is really easy to put in place…just wrap the straps around the front seats and secure the buckles. This held up beautifully, gave her a big and sturdy space to call her own in the back seat and it even gave us some extra storage space. We were able to store things underneath it on the floor of the vehicle. The materials are durable and I am sure we will use this for a long time. Our dog weighs about 50lbs and it held her without any problems.

I have two dogs, both in the 70-80 lb range.

I needed something that would keep them out of the front of my car and still give me easy access to the floor in the back.

It was made for my Subaru Crosstrex, perfect size, very little adjustments needed. It was also very simple to install. I also loved the reversibility feature (even though I wish both sides were black). The reason I liked the feature is because I can move the water bottle holder to the front so the girls can’t get to it (they can open them) … so my reason for reversing it was not for the color. I also didn’t realize that the portion with the water bottle compartment has a pocket on both sides. I was thrilled to learn this as it means I can keep leashes/harnesses for both my girls, not just one. It is very stable even if they lay right agains the front seats, and if I need to get to the floor space in the back it is simple to lift up and access. It also goes right to the edge of our seats, so they can load in and out of the car easily without catching on the bridge (an issue we have had with other covers/dividers.

All in all I really am impressed with the whole setup and hope it continues to last as it has proved invaluable with how much I take my girls out with me.

I have a Mini Cooper Clubman. My two 25lb terriers ride in the back with the rear seats folded down. They would fall in the gap between the rear and front searts. The Kurgo Bridge works as advertised and bridges the gap. Its a tight fit in the Mini, but the rear seat arm rest “carve outs” in the rear seat side panels provide the extra space needed to make it work. I’m happy and my dogs are happy. It supports their combined weights just fine.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe bought this for a long road trip with our 65 pound rough collie Rivers in a 2008 Ford 150 pick up trip and it worked exceptionally well.

The good stuff: it held his weight!!! When we braked suddenly he was not thrown feet first towards the floor. He was able to lay completely and comfortably down and snore away when the trip got boring. The bridge is flatter than the backseat and he could have his food and water bowl in back with him. The bridge lifts easily permitting Rivers (not a confident leaper) to jump up to the floor first then up onto the seat quickly. Our traveling cats could snuggle up with him in the back with lots of room too. It was easy to clean. The way parts flip back made it easy to carry the cats poo-da kitty litter box (in case of emergencies) in the back seat. The cats could lay under the bridge on the floor when they wanted to be in secret kitty mood and it also allowed for a bit of storage of dog food, spare water as well. Just worked out well.

The not so good but not entirely bad stuff: both front seats have to be nearly even. I am short (5′) so on my driving turn the passenger had to move their seat up a bit too but the bridge still reached. Installing takes a bit of thought, patience and time so don’t rush yourself and pick a nice day to do it so you don’t get stressed. I hope by the time this wears out they might have one with a wider bridge.

I hope this review helps some of you.

We drive 5 plus hours to the beach, and our dogs are comfy the whole trip. The bridge gives them extra room, even when we have the back seat of our Highlander pulled forward to pack the way back full for our trip. Also like the fold-up next to the door for easier in and out for our independent travelers. Only wish would be a more secure fit between the front seats as one of our pups will slide his head between while on the road to be closer to us. Keep the good items coming Kurgo!!

Really good thing to have, especially for longer travels. I didn’t want to keep my dog in a crate for the long journey and this did the job perfectly. And it’s comfy for anyone travelling on the back seat too! Win, win!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTrs bon choix, trs stables, les chiens vont dessus sans problme.
Beaucoup mieux que les boudins gonflables car ne risque pas de crever et on peut utiliser l’espace sous les plaques pour mettre des bagages qui sont abrits des chiens.
Le ct clair garde bien la fraicheur.

Does the job perfectly. Also has flexibility to accommodate people as well as dogs. All that at a competitive price.

Ever dump your dog into the footwell behind your seat? Sure, you might call me a bad pet parent for not buckling them in, but it can happen with them buckled in too. Most dog seat buckle systems have a bit of movement and they can swing around and be dumped into the gap. Biggest bonus is the cup holder for the dog. Now when I leave Starbucks with her Grande drip she has a secure place to stow it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have a terrier who insists on sitting as close behind the drivers seat (Citroen DS3) as possible. He’s fallen into the footwell more than once. I installed this bridge in a few minutes, raised him up by putting a layer of stiff foam and his bed on top. He’s happy, I’m happy, he’s safer. A very good product.

Works perfectly, very adjustable – love the barricade between the 2 front seats so dogs are less likely to jump into the front seat. Excellent for my Explorer, which I use having the back seats folded down & the bridge on top of that backing up to the front seats. Unfortunately it wouldn’t work for my sister’s Expedition, which doesn’t have the bars for extendable head rests on the front seats. Without the headrest bars there would be no way to effectively install it I don’t think – too bad! But for my purpose and vehicle it’s great.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve got a small car and two goldies so I wanted to maximise the space for them on the back seat and this is the perfect solution. It’s easy to fit and really stable. My two are happy to jump in (and they’re fussy monsters) and they’re happy to sit on the bridge or the seat. Thanks to this my two have room to lay down after a long walk on the beach in comfort. Which is a real paws up from them.

This fits well in my Toyota Corolla. I keep the barrier up as both of mine like to stand on the armrest and can get snippy when the other tries to move in as well. Both like to lay on the bridge rather than on the seat, and they can really stretch out after dog park trips. Combined they are about 43 lbs and this has been holding up well supporting both of them at once, granted we haven’t had it very long so we’ll see how it holds up in the months to come.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have a Jeep Wrangler JK 4 door and the dogs like to be able to look out the windows. If we put the back seat down, they aren’t able to look out. Finding this bridge to cover the footwell is a perfect fix. It’s sturdy enough for our smaller dogs and it’s flexible enough to have a passenger get in back as well. The true test was a long weekend with the family of three and three dogs. It surely helped add space to the back for the dogs and a hiding place under the bridge for belongings. We originally saw this in a local pet chain store for about $20 more, so we were very happy to find it on Amazon. We knew Kurgo is a good brand and we continue to buy Kurgo products for our pets.

    8/14/2019 – UPDATE

We still have the Wrangler JK and recently purchased a Grand Cherokee. We have really liked this backseat bridge so much in the Wrangler that we didn’t hesitate to buy one for the Grand Cherokee. It fits perfectly there too and keeps the dogs from falling down in the footwell. I highly recommend this!

Quick to install and take out once you get the straps adjusted for your vehicle. I use it in combination with cargo K&H Quilted Cargo cover to maximize the space for my dog in the SUV. With the Kurgo Zipline seatbelt set up my dog has freedom too look out the windows but is secured in the back.

I purchase the Kurgo bridge for my Toyota Tundra 2013 CrewCab truck and it works great for my 75 pound dog. It holds his weight even when he all the way forward on the bridge it’s self. The bridge is black on one side and kaki on the side ….wish it was all black so it would blend with my interior better but that’s the only negative I can find.

It does exactly what it says on the tin. Our small dog loves it and it stops her from falling into the seat well. Easy to fit. would recommend it.

My 13 yr old Spaniel loves it, No falling when sharp corners or sudden stops,. She curls up and has a sleep on the way back from a walk and we do not have to worry how she is in the back. If we have extra bods it folds so they can use the seats and she is still safe and happy.

It fits good in our 2012 Honda Odyssey, haven’t tried it our 2004 F250 Ford yet. When I called the company with a question I was told they don’t recommend it for mini-vans. Nowhere in the instructions, on the packing box in came in or online did I see any warning regarding vans of any kind. All I can guess the woman I talked to wasn’t very familiar with the product line.

Our pups would regularly slide off the back seat and onto the floor of the car when trying to look out the front window. They know enough to stay in the back but like to look forward. This bridge gives them so much more security that they can stand next to the seats and look forward without falling. Our dogs are 75 and 55 pounds and the bridge stands up against both of their body weight together. This, combined with the Kurgo Bench Seat Cover was a great purchase and keeps the pups safer as well as keeps the back seat of the car clean. The staps around the back of both front seats are not intrusive and hold the bridge tight.

This Kurgo BSBridge really did the job (2005 Caddy DeVille). In past cars, we’ve built wooden jacks to hold up a piece of plywood encased in vinyl to extend the seat. This is so much better! It still allowed us to pack bags in the back foot spaces. We travelled for 3 weeks with a growing puppy about 35# and she had a secure wonderful space. The only problem was the pup chewed a strap which was easy to replace with rope. I expect it will be strong enough for her once she’s 80#!

I bought this to cover the dip in the seat width for my dog so she would have more room. It has worked great. We just got back from a week of traveling and it made all the difference. She had been uncomfortable on the back seat of the truck until we used this. An added bonus was we could stove stuff under it on the floor of the truck and it stayed clean.

We also use this in the back seat of my Mercedes C350 due to the width of the seat. Previously the dog was not happy on the back seat, now she is a very happy dog.

My dog is 46 lbs and it has held up great. No bends, no problems.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is one of the best things I have gotten for me and my dog. She rides safely in the back seat with no worries about falling “in the hole” and she can scoot right up behind the front seat and be near. The divider works well to keep her out of the front seat. I also love the storage under the bridge to keep things away from prying puppies. The size works well for a Kia Sportage but the bridge could have been wider to fit vehicles with more of a gap between the front and back. I used a blanket that has straps on both edges to hook on the headrests on the back seat and anchor to the straps of the bridge behind the front seats to make a nice, stable cover for the whole area.

The backseat bridge is sturdy, easy to install (in spite of the fact that the installation instructions were in French – no English version was provided), and easy to store. There was sufficient space to store groceries under the bridge on the floor of the backseat. We put a foam cushion on the bridge to make it a little softer for the dogs.

If the bridge was designed with a built-in cushion, it wouldn’t fold up so compactly; so I think buying foam that can be rolled up for storage is ideal.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSaw this at Crufts and thought what a good idea but was unsure if you could carry a rear seat passenger. So came home and did research to find out and get best price. Amazon won with its free delivery which was fast!
Easy to fit but took longer the first time because of adjusting straps. Once these are done unless you change cars it will be quick.
One thing I did notice is that in my car(Nissan Alemera)the strap that goes around the headrest had plenty left to adjust but in my daughters car which is a Mazda 2 it is fully adjusted. This means the bridge is at a slight angle but still usable.
As soon as I had fitted it next doors cat jumped in the car and lay down so it gets the thumbs up from him! Hope the dog is just as impressed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOur elderly dog has been having trouble riding in the car. Typically, she doesn’t like staying put, then gets up and entangles herself in her car harness or falls off the back seat. The Bridge lets her move a little bit without having that trouble and seems to be a little calming for her. Works well with a blanket thrown on top to make a nice dog nest.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersWe’ve just returned from a little holiday with our 3 standard poodles – the first trip using the backseat bridge – it was all so easy.
The dogs have so much more space on the seat now (harnessed for safety) and the space under the bridge could still be used for luggage. When we took an extra passenger with us on journeys we could easily and quickly fold away one side of the bridge to accomodate them.
I have made a cushion to slip over the middle part so my dogs can comfortably rest their chins on it as we travel.
Its a great idea and works very well
