Excellent product, keeps my dog safe and contained on the back seat, still have to use a restraint harness for complete safety. But an excellent product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt has been a lifesaver I had to travel across country with a dog skittish and afraid to ride in back seat by herself. What I don’t like is 1 – like everyone says it almost completely blocks the backseat vent. A little air is able to rise at top edge of extender. I bought one of the camping fans that clips on to railing I bought railing to prevent dog from jumping to the front. Still I try to cool the Honda Pilot before we ride to make it easier on her. 2 – I’m a little leery that it would hold my dogs 75 lbs. so far it has but I also put a cushion underneath the extender where she first gets in car. The extender flap doesn’t go all the way to the back of the seat. 3 – the extender is a little thick it has to be so it’s sturdy. However since it doesn’t go all the way to the backseat I struggle using folded dog blankets and rugs to make it a smooth bed. 4 – since car seats are not level they slant down in the back that again adds to not making the bed uneven. I suppose if you had someone that could make a platform on top of the extender then cushion it somehow it would be better. In the meantime it’s ok. 5 – one of the good things about this is I can bend one-off the flaps down. This helped to let someone ride in back with my dog and she could lay across up to the middle till she got used to riding in back. So until something better this is it for me

We had a foam wheel-well insert for the truck so the dog wouldn’t fall but we lost valuable storage during our travels. This keeps her safe and we can still store things underneath during long trips hauling our RV. Haven’t had to clean it yet and we’ve only used it on two trips.

This is a great idea. I tend to travel with my dogs on the back seat as they are only temporarily in the car so leaving the boot for shopping and gear that can then be easily stored covered and left secure. Have used a back seat sling in ggd oady but they quickly break and move around. Found this after buying the four protectors and ordered it. Not cheap but my what a difference it has made. My previously anxious rescue who took time to settle on a car journey is now asleep before I’ve barley left home. No longer juggling gif discs with his younger sister they both stretch out and sleep. My only disappointment is that it doesn’t cover the full depth of the back seat and only extends about half way leaving a dip at the back that I have to fill with a folded up fleece. I’m trying to source a similar material so I can make a fold up extension section using sone foam board to attach with Velcro. Highly recommend it for happier journeys. Shag I bought to just help keep the car cleaner in conjunction with new rear seat covers turned out to have made more important benefits. we were amazed at the difference it made and nearly a month on it’s still working every journey quiet, settled, sleeping dogs. And it does keep the car tidier and clean as you can now put items in the footwells that are now hair free

Fantastic Should have bought one years ago!

I had just bought a car that had two captain’s chairs in the middle instead of a bench seat but I needed a bench seat for my dog to travel on. I used this seat extender to create a bench seat across the two. I had to place a box in the middle to hold that section up, but then placed the extender backwards so it tied to the back of the captain’s chairs. Then I used a Kurgo dog seat cover over that. It works perfectly. You’d actually believe I have a bench seat. Great product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe have 2 goldens and didn’t want them in the hatch… so we tried to find something that would give them a bit more room in the back seat. We tried this and are really happy with it. We ended up adding something in the floor behind the front seats that this sits on top of for extra support. Only because our 2 pups combine for over 150lbs. I think with 2 medium or smaller size pups this would work well all by itself. Really happy wth i

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy old pal was falling between the front seat and the back lowered seat area when I needed to make a sudden stop. Often I had to pull over to help him get up. This backseat bridge has solved the problem. I was afraid it wouldn’t fit my foreign hatchback but its works. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out installation but the next time I used it I got it back on in a snap. It folds up pretty well too. I’ve used it for a week so I don’t know how well it will hold up but so far I recommend it!

This works great for my Jeep. We have a seat cover that goes on first- this goes on next, then a blanket for them to lay on. The seat belt can still be hooked up as it doesn’t go back all the way to cover them up. Dogs are much more comfortable in the back seat without worry that they will fall. Extends the seat too so makes for a larger area for them to lay.

My dog DOES NOT sit/lay nicely on the seat. he is VERTY curious and is constantly standing and moving around. This seat extender is SUPER helpful! I feel so much safer when I’m driving with my dog in the seat with this thing strapped in. it seems easy to install. The hubby installs it very quickly and tells me that it is easy to do. it is easy to un-install. 🙂 I haven’t tried cleaning it, but it looks like I could just wipe it down with a cloth and some spray cleaner.

It is also very durable. my 6yo son has crawled over it multiple times and my dog is about 50#. great, great product!

My golden doodle often “fell” into the hammock space created by the backseat cover. Now, we have these in both cars (truck and Subaru Outback) because she loved it so much. It doesn’t go edge to edge, but that works better for me to get groceries etc tucked into the back underneath it and when she’s as the very edges she has the door for support anyways. So it works perfect.
This does mean the entire backseat is dedicated to her. And when we have a kiddo someday, that may need to adjustments but that’s a future problem. (plus I’m sure we can just fold half under).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI don’t use for pets. I use to fill the gap between seats when car camping (sleeping). Works perfectly. Cheaper than the Kickstarter campaign for an almost identical product. And this one, being able to fold in half, is actually more convenient. I often only sleep on the one folded down side, leaving the other to easily get in and out of my SUV. This is the answer!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI leave the backseats folded down so I had to adjust the installation. I imagine if installed on a seat, the installation might be easier. However, I wanted a “bridge” to the center console and this works beautifully. At first my pup was a little afraid but it took one car ride to get over that. The best part is I still get to use the space under the extender for back seat storage. I used to fill in the space behind the front seats with blankets or blocks but no more! FYI, my furry friend is 20 lbs. Don’t know how this would be for a large dog.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI love that you can have the center folded down so puppers can still lay their heads on center console! We can have a car seat cover on the seat and this just lays on top – we put a blanket over top for coziness but this is super nice – if you need someone to sit in back seat – you can fold over one side and everyone is comfortable and safe. One reviewer advised theirs taco’d and collapsed – that may have been because the space between the seats was too far apart although he was able to put a different board in the cover to make it work for his needs. We have two pit bulls – one about 55 pounds and one about 80 pounds – no issues. Fits nicely in the back seat of a Jeep Grand Cherokee! Absolutely perfect!

This is intended to keep dogs from falling into the seatwell when the back seats are folded down; but it should also be marketed as a car camping solution that many compact SUV owners try to figure out. I read so many blogs about people using piece of plywood, rope, inflatable space fillers — this is the solution!

I use mine in conjunction with waterproof cargo padding and a liner to create a luxurious dog pad + gear space for outdoor adventures. It also works *perfectly* for car camping in my 2016 Subaru Forester. I wouldn’t put my full weight on this, but it’s sturdier than I expected. I like that the center flaps folds down to still allow my dog to poke is head over the armrest. 10/10 telling everyone I know about this underrated solution!

The seat bridge feels pretty sturdy and was easy to install. The strap that goes around the front seats are kind of ugly, but that’s fine. There was a slight smell, but it’s not overpowering and I expect it to go away in a few days. It fits my 2013 subaru crosstrek perfectly!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAfter researching many options, this was the best backseat bridge for my needs and I am pleased with it after completing our first major road trip with our pup (9 hrs each way). FLEXIBILITY: My husband and I could trade driving shifts and adjust the front seats accordingly (I’m 5’4″; he’s 6’3″) without having to adjust or move the bridge. While the bridge not fully covering the entire depth of the backseat may seem odd at first, it is this trait that makes this possible. Our dog wears a car safety harness and is tethered, so we folded the center panel underneath the bridge. This allows him to see us, rest his head on the center console from time to time, and for us to reach back there to pet him or give treats, etc. STORAGE: The bridge still allows full usage of the backseat footwell areas for stuff which will be easily accessible when the back doors are open. Very important on a longer trip when every crevice is needed after the trunk fills up! INSTALLATION: I found the straps a bit confusing at first, but the directions are clear and easy to follow with a little focus! COMFORT: Our 70 lb dog was much more relaxed in the backseat with the bridge. He’s able to get comfortable more quickly without the risk of falling into the footwell. We did some local trips first to test out the right configuration of blankets, etc on top of the bridge for extra coziness and to minimize shifting on the car’s leather seats. Ultimately, our pup has a really cozy space back there that I’d be happy to relax in myself!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have 13 year old Scottie who insists on riding on the center console of my car. We don’t travel far in the car, so she’s safe. Rounding the corner, no matter how slow I go, sometimes she would slip off of the console and at times land on the floor. I was worried she would get hurt. This bridge solved the problem!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use it for my mastiff who likes to stand on the center console. But the board for the center console did not fit my Subaru. so I removed the board inside the center console and cut to fit to design Subaru has. Placed it back in and realized having a STIFF board in that spot was not comfortable for me or my dog to stand on. Because it would tilt back and forth anywhere he stepped sometimes jabbing me.
Suggested solution using a silicone insert instead of a stiff board for flexibility just on the console. I simply just removed the board and am going without it until I can design the right solution for my vehicle.
The way it fits into the rear seat is perfect and I would not change any of that.

One of my Westies is almost 15 years old and it has become difficult for him to deal with the space between the front and back seats. This product was easy to install – maybe 10 minutes and I’m mechanically challenged, and it seems very durable! Both my Westies find the seat extender comfortable and it enables them to be closer to us while still in the back seat. I’ve had this for several months now and it is holding up well. Look for my review of the pet deck. I actually use 2 of these. One faces forward used as a bridge to the armrest, and the rear facing one blocks the space between the rear seats. Golden Review Award: 102 From Our UsersI bought this, but not for its intended use. I needed something to bridge the gap between the backseat and the front seat so I could have more room to sleep!

I just finished a 5500 mile trip in 12 days and needed a place in my car to be able to sleep when I wasn’t staying with people. (For the record, I only sleep in truckstops which are far safer than rest stops.)

I wasn’t sure if this would work, but it did! I think the weight limit is 75 pounds and my head is not that heavy, LOL. Please note that you can *not* sit on this, so make sure you don’t. I used it just for a pillow.

Having used it, I know that it would work great for a pet. I was thoroughly pleased with it. I am not endorsing it to use for anything other than pets. I’m just relating my experience.

When I first saw this product I couldn’t really understand how it would “stay safe” when in use, also it seemed to be quite expensive. However, I am so pleased that I bought this, it has literally transformed the back seat of the car for our dogs and I know they would endorse this because they are much more content on their travels, no more falling on the floor! My only criticism is that the bit that is supposed to “fit snugly” in between the front seats actually does not in our car (a ford focus estate) but, overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this product, and seller.

Brilliant product. Excellent value for money. This has saved us having to purchase an estate car for our two 30kg greyhounds as they can now easily both lie on the back seat with no fear of falling off. It gives them so much more room and it’s very sturdy! We put an old duvet on top to make softer for them and they love it! I would have preferred the upright bit in the middle to have been made of something that I could see through to check on them but that’s the only point against it. The fact that it’s reversible is an added bonus.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLieferung schnell, Ware gut verpackt.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI’m not sure I’m using this in the manner in which it is intended. Yes I wanted a bridge between the front seats and the back, but I wanted this bridge to connect to rear seats that were folded down. First the good: this fits a 2019 Forester perfectly for what I want The width will just allow the car doors to close without much room on either side. It seems fairly well made, with the caveat that I just got it so I’m not sure how it will wear. Now a couple of cons. The straps are indeed very short. I had to extend them as long as they could go, and it just fit. I’m not super wild about the seat strap, as it crosses right around where the lumbar seat support is. I’ll have to see if that is a problem or not. The actual bridge structural material is a little too flexible, I was hoping for something a bit more rigid. It doesn’t inspire confidence that it will hold in the long term. But for now, I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. In the pictures, ignore the orange and black strap. That is something currently being used to support the zookeeper (thing preventing dogs from going into the front seat).

In my truck I have a cover know as a hammock seat cover. My 65 pound Chuey would fall in until I ordered the “bridge”. It took him awhile to trust it but he’s safer and more comfortable now. Wish they made single ones for the front. I put the seat cover over the top of the bridge. My truck is cleaner too.

Bought first one 5 years ago and still using it now, fit well in my mazda 6 and now volvo xc40, just ordered a second one for the wife’s new 4 door. Easy to clean can be refit in minutes once set up. Folds nice and compact when not in use

I am so happy with this purchase!! My rottie now has so much more space for our long car trips & is no longer trying to climb into my lap while driving! I’ll be purchasing another for my other vehicle & recommending it to my friends with large dogs.

OUTSTANDING product for pets in the back seat. We have a GMC 2500 and 5th Wheel and we travel with a 35lb terrier and 50lb portuguese water dog and this was a GREAT product to cover the backseat gap. There is still plenty of room for access to space under extender for storage.

Fits my smaller car very well and is very sturdy even for a M-L pooch. No complaints.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis bridge works great for my two large dogs. They like to stand on the back seat and stick their heads out the windows (one on each side) and this gives them more stability, especially if I need to stop quickly and unexpectedly (they don’t fall onto the floor). When my car is parked, it gives my dog who likes to stay in the back seat more room to stretch out, while the other one climbs in the very back of my SUV and lounges on his bed back there.

Probably the only negative is that the bridge needs to go on top of my dog hammock, which I didn’t expect (because the dog hammock slips too much if it’s on top), This means that it’s more difficult to keep the bridge clean, as I can’t just throw it in the washing machine like I do with the hammock. But, other than that, it’s all good. If you don’t live in the country and take your dogs to the river most days, yours will stay much cleaner than mine! I can take it out and shake it off. Maybe I can even spray it down with a hose. I would recommend it, it’s really nice.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersMy dog is 14 1/2 and, of course, has lost much strength in her back legs. The last two times I had her in the car, something she adores, she fell off the seat. Once she had to stay on the floor until I pulled over to help her, and another time, she scrambled back up. She broke my heart. This bridge keeps her safe and secure on the seat, and it is so easy to install…it’s just a matter of adjusting the straps. I had my heart in my throat as I pulled out of the driveway with her and it in the car, but I was thrilled that she took to it right away.

I am so happy I purchased This! If she only has a little time left to be with me, I want that time to be her happiest ever!

This is a great product, and I received it several days before it was scheduled!

I use it over a hammock to give stability to the hammock because the floor inserts won’t fit easily in my car. Only issue is the middle section that has the picket is too loose and flops into the back area too far.

Great product, awesome warranty….has made road trips so much more enjoyable. Dog loves the extra room and the ability to copilot more closely and more safely. Has not hindered his ability to enter or exit vehicle either (40lb dog). ONLY concern is whether he will still get the air conditioning from floor vent in summer- might be warmer back there with bridge.
