This is our fourth lavazza machine – the best so far also the dearest one!
I already have this machine and bought this one for my son. He loves it too. Looks good in the kitchen with the slick Italian style and produces a great cup of espresso/lungo.
Bought this to replace my 6 year old Lavazza machine which was used daily but beginning to leak. This model is a great improvement, having choice on cup size and temperature of the coffee – I like mine hot. The light bronze colour looks very stylish on the counter and it’s much quieter than the old one. Good news for someone who’s not a morning person.
Definitely a five star purchase and worth the money.

i was spending too much money every week at Costa & Cafe Nero on coffee. Not anymore! The closest taste Cappuccino you can make to a shop bought one.Easy to use, Quick, easy to disassemble to clean best 100 quid spent!
I have used many pod machines but this is the best by far. I don’t want it to make lattes or hot chocolate, just really good coffee and it does that well.
I prefer using the Lavazza pods and deals can be had on Amazon if you search around and buy in bulk. The options to increase the water / temp are really good and I can switch from an espresso to a longer drink really easily.
My favourite features are the noise level and auto start. This machine is so quiet compared to others I have used and the ability to press start and walk away as soon as you power it on helps to do all the morning jobs.
I hope it keeps going strong as I got 5 years out of my last lavazza machine. 🙂
Makes a quick tasty cup.Use it twice a day every day…
Great coffee machine; it’s easy to use, is quiet and prepares a great cup of coffee in less than a minute! Good choice of capsules available on Amazon and elsewhere. Very happy to recommend.
Coffee pods are expensive. However, there are modo mio compatible ones available. Coffee is better than Tassimo pods. But the collecting of pods is a nuiscane. I have the bad habbit of pressing the expresso button to get more of the coffee! The long cup button fill 3/4 of a standard 350ml mug and it then switched off. Useful as you wont get flooded. But the descaling is too cumbersome. Read the manual. Press expresso button and long cup button simultaneously. Descaling solution too expensive at 10. Other solutions can be used but none specifically state Lavasso modo mio machines- so did not chance it.
Anyway, going back to Tassimo for convenience and finish off pods.
ps followed steps for descaling, still light is on- aftr 1 hour and 10!!!
Moved from Nespresso to Lavazza. Great machine. Versatile, unlike my old Nespresso machine. And, of course, the coffee’s excellent. Good choice of intensity and blends. Environmentally responsible Eco caps should be the standard for all coffee capsules. Very pleased with my choice.
I was dubious about this machine really just becuase it was such a great price – have been through 3 x Illy Machines over the last few years and was wanting an upgrade to a machine that would last more than 9 months – so was intending to spend more – but took a chance and have been delighted – makes fantastic coffee, looks as good as more expensive models – and the pods are half the price of other makes – and provide equal flavour and quality – AND the pods (or at least some of the pod range) are more compostable than all the other brands – so that’s great too – love it!
I enjoyed using the AEG Lavazza Magia machine for several years, but it became unreliable when using the Eco Caps. Pods were getting stuck until cool (making it impossible to make more one cup of coffee per hour!). Pods started to fail and explode coffee grounds into the inner workings of the machine. I would encourage anyone with this problem to contact Lavazza. I now have the Idola machine, which has the same functions for making black coffee (no milk frother etc) and is compatible with the Eco Caps. The Idola looks nice in the “Greige” colour, is quieter than the old machine, and is otherwise much the same. Recommended.
This purchase was to replace a smaller machine that broke down after three years. A good deal made better with the benefit of a warehouse offer at considerable lower price. What has greatly influenced my choice is that I can purchase compatible pods from Amazon at very good and lower prises.

This model is VERY quiet and water tank is good size. Also, the eco pods do NOT stick which is fantastic. My only criticism, which was relatively short lived, it took lots of uses with just water to remove a horrible taste, which I can only think is something left over from manufacturing. All good now though.
Great looking. Very sturdy bit best of all hives a really good cup of coffee. I use it on an expresso setting and top with boiling water as per coffee shops for an Americana and gives fab results
Great product. Bought as a backup to using fresh coffee making but has turned into first choice. To slow for more than 2 or 3 chips at a time though.
Wonderful coffee, machine is so easy to use and maintain, would highly recommend. Use filtered water and warm milk for perfection.
This machine produces Lavazza coffee which almost as good as that you get from a Verona cafe. The wide range of Lavazza capsules give deeper smoother flavours than i can get from my nespresso machine.
Our second Lavazza coffee machine the las one last 5years. This one doesn’t have a milk frother which we never used on the old one. A great little machine
Could push water through the capsules better especially when you need to do it twice to get half a mug for a decent sized coffee.
The capsule tray warning goes off after 3 or 4capsules not the 10 stated.
It would be nice if there was an option for mug of coffee, and the ability to plumb a machine into mains water somehow.

We love a good expresso, and our old machine Lavazza Magia Plus was and not producing proper crema anymore, despite regular descaling, as and when directed. We have maintained it but still we are are in a hardwater area that takes its toll on coffee machine. The Idola we have purchased this time, is making lovely expresso, and is very quiet. Lavazza is the best tasting coffee, and the lowest price per capule, so it was a no brainer to get another Laazza machine, we are not regetting this purchase, and highly recommend this machine.
Same make to replace one I had worn out.This did take five years regular use.

Love this coffee and this is the best Lavazza coffee machine I have had.
This machine does what it should, making perfect coffee with a good head of crema.
Lavazza have a good range of coffee flavoured coffees, no strange added flavours, just coffee at its best. The crema is the result of the natural brewing of the coffee, not additives as in some competing brands.
A quiet,competent coffee machine with no silly additions.

I’ve owned the previous model ‘Fantasia’ for around 3-4 years and was always very happy with it – the milk frother started playing up so I decided it was time to replace.
I was convinced I would end up with a bean-to-cup machine since I always felt guilty on the plastic waste from all the pods that I had consumed – that was until I discovered that Lavazza has now (since late 2019) developed a fully bio-degradable coffee capsule!! This was enough to persuade me and I bought this machine.
For those interested, one of the main differences between this machine and the fantasia is that this machine is 100% produced by Lavazza. This means if there is anything wrong, you go to Lavazza (or the store you bought it from) and you will have 0 hassle. This was not the case beforehand, where the Fantasia model was co-owned by AEG, so you would have to go to them. From what I gathered, it sounds like the partnership between Lavazza-AEG ended badly, so Lavazza produced a new model independently!
I won’t bother going into the features (as other reviews do this), I’ll compare it to the previous ‘Lavazza Fantasia’ machine:
Pros:
– More compact
– Buttons feel very premium – the whole thing feels better than Fantasia actually
– New biodegradable capsule range at the same price as before
– Glass cup
– Sensors to tell you when the machine is full
– Even easier than before – just put the milk in and let the rest unfold
– The milk frother element attaches to the machine – this means you can use ANY cup you want (as long as it supports the same volume of milk to avoid spillage)
– The coffee quality is very comparable to the previous model
– Faster heating
Cons:
– The glass cup is great if you want to drink it right away…. quite often I put it in a travel cup which makes this a little tricky without spillage – Saying that, you can use any cup with the machine since the milk frother is attached to the machine – so it’s just a question of finding a jug. I hope Lavazza will bring out one
– Currently, you cannot buy more Cups – but I’ve been told are being developed and it will come in the new year (it is a brand new product after all)
– Minor minor – the sensor to tell you if the machine is full counts is reset if you open the tray. Therefore, if you take a peak it will think there are 0 capsules. Just don’t touch it until it tells you 🙂
– Noisy – doesn’t personally bother me but it’s not quiet
All in all – I am extremely happy with this machine, bring out some cup/jug options, and this for me is perfect!
At the moment there seems to be a long wait time to buy it from Amazon in the UK. Maybe try amazon.it—though it would then need an electrical adapter.
