Genuinely surprised by the negative reviews, I’ve not needed to restart this camera once and homekit integration has been faultless.
Picture quality is good, the camera is responsive and reliable. Can’t say much more than that, I will be adding addional one.
I have a decent home wi-fi set up so possibly this is why others experience issues?
I use this camera to cover my front door. It works perfectly and is, in my opinion, the best current option of Apple secure video is your priority. Image clear up to approx 10m with this wide angle lens.
I have two at home, one works all the time on the wifi network, the other just goes offline from time to time and requires deleting and removing from the HomeKit setup and then resetting and then adding in again.
I have replaced this camera with a brand new one to no avail. Logitec support were not much help either.
There are better and more reliable camera options available though few HomeKit ones…
Very easy to set up, just scan the QR code on apple home app and it connects instantly. Records direct to your iCloud account so no need for a recorder. Good alternative to wired CCTV camera comes
With 3m cable with USB on the end
I bought this due to it’s HomeKit integration and secure video. It works so well. Setup took 3 minutes, I can view live and recorded stream on all my apple devices, it can differentiate between a car, animal and person. Wifi seems ok it’s around 7 meters from the router. Really pleased, not sure how it will fare in the cold, rain or just after time but so far all good!!
Fitting it, 2 screws to attach the wall plate to the wall and it fits on easily. the cable is over 2m long and has a USB A end, the package comes with an adapter to plug it into 3 pin etc.
Good quality product with no hassle installation.
Got it set up with Apple HomeKit in a few minutes.
No lag, good voice quality, great flexibility in setting up the zones and alarms. Recognize animals people and vehicles with ease.
Way more responsive and trouble free than my previous setup with VDR.
Almost two months out snow with temperatures between-5 and -25:) no issues at all.
View angle is incredible, replaces two of my regular cameras on the entrance.

Die Freude nahm ein abruptes Ende, als die Kamera des fteren die Verbindung verlor und in unregelmigen Abstnden zwischen online/offline wechselte. Das hat mich extrem genervt und so habe ich mich monatelang auf Fehlersuche begeben. Schnell wurde mir klar, dass ich nicht der Einzige bin, der von dem Problem betroffen ist. Ich habe wirklich alles ausprobiert: Neustart, Zurcksetzen, WLAN neu konfigurieren, Repeater hinzufgen um die Verbindung zu verbessern, etc. Nichts hat geholfen.. Durch reinen Zufall bin ich auf den folgenden Artikel gestoen:

Seitdem luft die Circle View wieder ununterbrochen ohne Abbruch. Der Fehler liegt wohl daran, dass die Fritzbox auf die Verschlsselung “WPA2 + WPA3” eingestellt war. Seit einer nderung auf “WPA2 (CCMP)” und einem Zurcksetzen der Circle View funktioniert alles wieder tip top!
Ich wei, dass mehrere Kufer dieses Problem haben und hoffe mit meinem Beitrag anderen weiterhelfen zu knnen. Die Kamera ist spitze. Super verarbeitet, einfach zu bedienen, wetterfest und leicht im Apple Universum zu bedienen. Ich habe sie damals zum Preis von ca. 149 gekauft.

Die Kamera funktioniert super, wenn eine Person in der Familie auf der Kamera ist, kann eine andere leider nicht zeitgleich darauf zugreifen.
Ab und an gibt es auf gewissen Gerten Probleme auf die Kamera zuzugreifen, aber mit einem Neustart der App ist dies meist behoben. Das wrde ich allerdings eher der iOS15.0 Version zuschreiben, da es seit Update auf iOS 15.2 keine Probleme mehr gab.
Alles in allem ein tolles Produkt mit sehr weitem Sichtfeld
Fr Nachtsicht ist die Kamera zu weit entfernt sonst sehr gut bin zufrieden.

The Initial setup was a breeze as it’s HomeKit enabled setup. Add accessory, choose room and done. I deliberately choose this camera as a convert camera to work on the opposite side of my garden, so I switched off night vision and the status light. Instead when a person is detected my flood light switches on and the HomePod chimes to alert me indoors. However, I have switched the night vision on just to check if it works ok, and it works great. Amazing angle pretty much covers the entire garden, and some of my neighbours. So I had to set up a zone to detect only my garden. The first couple of days was a bit buggy, but since then it’s been working fine (I assume it updated). I love the instant notifications on my tv when a person or animal is detected and if I am away on my iPhone. A couple of minor things: 1) I would prefer the lead to be black and detachable. If this is not possible for weather proofing, then to be the maximum length it can be. 2) to use something secure to fix the angle of the camera. Whilst I like the design to flip down the camera for privacy reasons, I also want to prevent this from happening so quick. Also, if I do flip down the camera it would then be helpful in remembering which angle the camera was. It’s not a dealbreaker because the person must be detected prior to flipping it down, and I have etched the side to remind me of the angle. Overall, I’m very happy, and until a 4K version is released this is my new goto camera for outdoors.

Die Verbindung zu Apples HomeKit hat auf den ersten Versuch tadellos geklappt.
Fr mich ist die Kamera leider nicht geeignet, da Sie schon sehr nahe am geschehen montiert werden muss!
I’ve now got two of these cameras and they’re really great.
They have wide angle footage, are weatherproof, have night vision with infra red lights and have a mic and speaker in them.
As many others have noted they do require you to have an apple HomeKit set up. So with whether that’s a Apple TV, or a homepod you’ll need something on your network to act as hub for these. The setup is really easy (just scan a barcode) and video storage is rolled in with your apple iCloud subscription.
What’s great about these cameras is that if you’ve already got a paid iCloud plan you don’t need to pay any more money every month and the video is fully end to end encrypted as it’s sent locally to your HomePod or Apple TV.
With iOS 15 these cameras also gain facial recognition, package recognition, car recognition and animal recognition which is really great and you can set them to notify you when any, all or some of those things are seen.
These are the best HomeKit cameras available at the moment and I would recommend them to anyone. The only downsides to them are that the cable cannot be disconnected (so if you’re mounting outdoors you need a hole big enough for a USB to fit through for power) and that they have an old style USB cable rather than USBC.
If you’re already an apple product user then these are really powerful kit at a really good price that help keep your home secure all without any extra fees.
Much better than the rRing cameras in my opinion as there’s no extra monthly fee.

Super easy to setup, literally seconds. Nearly instant live view, unlike other cameras like Arlo, or even Netatmo which is generally good. Hardware is compact and well-built.

I really liked its simplicity and it feels like a premium camera. My only gripe is with Apple Homekit Secure Video’s limited features.
For example, I am unable to set the camera to:
– stream (not record) during the day when I’m home,
– stream and record during the day and night when away.
I don’t want the camera recording me every time I walk by during the day, but I would like it to record at night.
Set up was super easy and I love how easy it is to turn the camera off with one button.
Just an FYI: for this camera to stream/work while you are away from home, you will either need an Apple TV or a Homepod or a home-designated iPad in your house.

Sowohl in der Nacht als auch untertags liefert sie ein gestochen scharfes Bild (HD)).
Dank HomeKit-SecureVideo lassen sie alle Einstellungen direkt ber HomeKit (oder ber die Eve-App) regeln.
Die Bewegungserkennung sowie der Lichtsensor haben bis jetzt super funktioniert.
Leider gibt es allerdings auch etwas, was mir weniger gefllt.
Die Kamera ist schwarz. Doch das restliche Zubehr (Kabel und USB-Adapter) sind wei.(siehe Bild)
(Das USB Netzteil kann man austauschen, aber das Kabel nicht)
Weiters finde ich es schade das hier in der Produktbeschreibung von einer 6m Kabellnge geschrieben wird. Das ist leider nicht der Fall. Sogar auf der Verpackung steht 3m Kabellnge.
Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt ist, dass man, wenn man das Kabel durch eine Wand legen will, ein riesiges Loch (ich habe einen 16er Bohrer bentigt) bentigt, da der ganze USB-Stecker durch muss. (Anschlieend ist allerdings das Kabel viel Dnner und das Loch viel zu gro (der Stecker passte aber genau durch)) Hier wre es cool wenn man den Anschluss welcher direkt an der Kamera ist, abnehmen knnte, da dieser kleiner ist als ein USB Stecker.
Nach der erfolgreichen Installation muss ich allerdings sagen das die Kamera fast all meinen Anforderungen entspricht. Alle Funktionen welche beschrieben sind, werden auch geboten. Daher kann ich diese Kamera mit gutem Gewissen empfehlen.

it is a bit expensive with respect to other stuff that cost the half. but the safety of HomeKit (no app to be mantained) is priceless
Funtkioniert super, wir haben die Kamera auf der berdachten Terasse angebracht. Macht super Aufnahmen.
Wer die Kamera mit all Ihren Vorteilen nutzen mchte, muss zwangslufig ein HomeKit-fhiges Wiedergabemedium haben (iPhone / iPad oder Mac/Macbook). Die Kamera ist nichts fr jemanden, der nicht zum Abschluss eines kostenpflichtigen iCloud Speicherplans bereit ist. Stabil hat die Kamera bei mir erst funktioniert, als ich einen HomePod statt einem iPad als Steuerzentrale verwendet habe.
Zur Kamera selbst:
Die Kamera macht einen wertigen Eindruck. Sie kann mittels zwei Schrauben befestigt werden (Schrauben und Dbel liegen bei). Das Netzteil muss sich im Innenbereich befinden (USB-Anschluss am Ende des Kabels, Netzteil liegt bei). Die Lnge des Kabels kann mit entsprechenden Verlngerungen erweitert werden (sofern die Verlngerung von Witterungseinflssen geschtzt ist). Somit sehe ich den USB-Anschluss statt einem bloen Netzteil als Vorteil gegenber anderen Produkten.
Die Aufnahmequalitt ist bei Tag und Nacht sehr gut und alle Aufnahmen sind scharf. Es gibt keine Ruckler o. .
HomeKit Secure Video / Sicherheit:
Die Kamera kann ausschlielich bei Apple HomeKit Secure Video eingerichtet werden. Man bentigt somit keinen Account und keine App eines Drittanbieters. HomeKit Secure Video bietet mit der Erkennung von Personen und Fahrzeugen, ausfhrbaren Szenen (z. B. LIcht an, wenn unbekannte Person erkannt), etc. extrem viele Vorteile gegenber nicht-HomeKit-fhigen Produkten. Auch die Beschrnkung auf einen bestimmten Bereich fr die Erkennung von Fahrzeugen/Personen/Tieren funktioniert problemlos. Bei anderen Produkten wurden bereits Sonnenstrahlen als Bewegung erkannt (somit wurden extrem viele nutzlose Videos gespeichert).
Der Sicherheitsaspekt von Apple HomeKit war ebenfalls mageblich fr mich. Wer sowieso auf Apple setzt, sollte seine Daten nicht zustzlich an weitere Drittanbietern liefern “mssen”. Zudem ist die verschlsselte bertragung vielen anderen Produkten berlegen.
Sicherheit im Allgemeinen:
Ich bin generell kein Freund von Cloud-Diensten. Durch die Verwendung von Gerten aus dem Hause Apple gebe ich jedoch zwangslufig gewisse Informationen an Apple weiter (wie auch bei Android-Devices an Google). Ich wollte somit nicht noch Videodateien an andere Anbieter liefern. D. h. Wenn Cloud-Anbindung der Kamera, dann ausschlielich von Apple. Die stationre Speicherung bietet fr mich auch keine ausschlaggebenden Vorteile (siehe nachfolgende Aufzhlung).
iCloud:
Ohne Speicherplan knnen keine Aufnahmen gespeichert werden. Dadurch wrde sich die Kamera, meines Erachtens, maximal als Gegensprechanlage eignen. Mit einem iCloud Speicherplan wird die Kamera jedoch wirklich interessant zur berwachung (50 GB Plan bei einer Kamera, 2 TB Plan bei 2-5 Kameras).
Was man natrlich nicht vergessen darf ist die Tatsache, dass auch viele andere Produkte einen Cloud-Zwang mit sich bringen. Die iCloud bietet zumindest noch weitere positive Features (Cloud-Backups fr iPhones/iPads, Datenspeicherung, etc.).
Sollte man generell keine Datenbertragung in die Cloud wollen, muss man auf einen stationren Speicher bei sich zu Hause setzen. Das war fr mich bspw. keine Option, da ich keine Lust auf die Administration dessen, ein weiteres Gert, Einrichten eines VPN-Tunnels fr den Fernzugriff etc. hatte.
Pro-iCloud:
+ geringere einmalige Investitionskosten (im Vergleich zu einem NAS im RAID-Verbund)
+ hhere Flexibilitt (Upgrade auf zustzlichen Speicher ist einfacher)
+ geringere Administration (NAS muss eingerichtet werden, VPN-Tunnel ist fr Fernzugriff notwendig (Stichwort Sicherheit), was ist bei einem Stromausfall? Kann das NAS wieder problemlos hochfahren und die Kamera speichert weiterhin ohne Komplikationen, Ausfall von Festplatten, etc.)
+ keine Bridge (ein HomePod ist fr mich mehr ein super Lautsprecher als eine reine Bridge; eine zustzliche Bridge braucht Strom, kann defekt werden, hat zustzlichen Platzbedarf in der Nhe des Routers, etc.)
+ kein Drittanbieter (Zu Apple werden sowieso Daten durch die Verwendung von iPhone/iPad und Co. bermittelt. Meines Erachtens braucht man seine Videodateien nicht noch an andere Anbieter liefern; Apple hat wohl den hchsten Sicherheitsanspruch in der Branche und verwendet und analysiert die Daten auch nicht mit Personenbezug und ohne ausdrckliche Zustimmung. Lieber bezahle ich fr das Produkt, als das Produkt zu sein (Verkauf von Daten))
Contra-iCloud:
+ Daten liegen nicht bei einem selbst (wobei hier natrlich die Frage ist, ob das bei den anderen Produkten anders wre. Manchmal werden die Daten trotzdem an einen Server im nirgendwo geschickt, bis sie auf dem NAS/stationren Speicher zu Hause abgelegt werden)
+ laufende Kosten
Das Setup:
Wie auch schon erwhnt sollte man ein gewisses Setup haben bzw. einrichten. Bei mir sind das:
– iPhone als Wiedergabemedium
– HomePod als Steuerzentrale
– iCloud Speicherplan
Sofern man bereit ist dieses Setup einzurichten gibt es m. E. keine besseren Alternativen auf dem Markt.
I’ve had no issues with my camera, added straight to HomeKit and recording straight away. I would like to see more mounting options just like Circle 2 have.
Was mir auch sehr gut gefllt ist, dass Erkannte Personen, Tiere und Fahrzeuge ca 3 Sekunden in der Vergangheit mit aufgenommen werden. Bei der Eufy Cam 2C begann der aufgezeichnete Clip immer erst wenn die Person schon vor der Tr stand. Bei Der Circle View beginnt die Aufzeichnung schon bevor die Person den Bereich betritt. So soll das meiner Meinung nach sein!
Die Nachtsicht ist ausgezeichnet.
Kleiner Tipp fr alle die die Circle View als Gegensprechanlage nutzen mchten:
Standardmig war das Mikrofon viel zu Leise. In der Apple Home App gibt es leider keine Mglichkeit die Lautsprecher und Mikrofon Lautstrke einzustellen. Die App von Elgato Eve” bietet die Mglichkeit! Mikrofon auf 80% gestellt und nun verstehe ich auch den Postboten wenn er mir antwortet!
