I bought this more of hope than expectation to relieve my house of the moths that seem to gather, I did wonder if it was working until I cleaned it and there were deceased moths in there so it has made a dent in the population.
It’s good bug killer. Delivered on time and works perfect killing mosquitos and similar small bugs. Working really quietly when in use, is easy to clean too. It’s perfect to use my living room during this summe
This failed (in 48 hrs) to kill a single fly and there are a lot of them.
They perched on the unit top and for all I know used the blue light
for fly disco – it does make a good night light.
I’ve scored this as high as I have simply because of the customer service,
I got an email asking my opinion and I gave it informing them that I was returning
it to Amazon for a full refund. This was going to be difficult as I’m severely ill at present
and disabled. I received a full refund and was told not to worry about returning the unit.
I now have a hanging night light and will find another way to get rid of the flies.
Excellent customer service
Firstly i would like to highlight the exceptional customer service. Originally this product arrived with a plug that looked like it had probably taken a hard hit during transport and wasn’t useable. As part of the vine programme i contacted amazon who advised sorry no replacements available. BUT the seller spotted my review and went out of their way to contact me and offer a replacement free of charge and within a few days i had a replacement. Really exceptional service.
It’s getting warmer and more flying critters are appearing and noone likes dancing around the room trying to squash that annoying mozy or fly. These things are great… Just plug it in and switch on and wait for the flying thing to get zapped.
It has a nice protective cover around it so there’s no need to worry about it getting bumped or if it falls over. The gaps are a bit shy of 1cm so the bigger beasties might be safe but it should still get the majority of them. The collection tray underneath is really handy to, so once they get zapped they just fall to the tray at the bottom. There’s also a handle for hanging which is very handy and stops it falling over.
When switched on it gives a subtle blue light and no buzzing or humming noise. When the beasties do eventially go for it they are zapped quickly and drop to the catch bowl below. These things work great in the evening when it gets darker. Unfortunately during the day there are bigger brighter lights to attract the beasties. But then again, it is the evening and night yoy want a room cleared of insects.
This is for use indoors. It is easy to use. Just locate and plug in. It worked immediately. Unlike some zappers I have had, it is quiet. It is much better in my opinion to use these than sprays which can get on the food and cannot be healthy and fly paper which quickly looks horrible. This zapper is easy to clean. Simply take off the tray. Brush provided to clean the rest. Easy to do. I have usually found zappers to be fairly effective. It is difficult to judge this one yet as it is still fairly cool and there are not that many flies/insects around. I have no reason to believe that it will not work and I plan to return to update this review when it has really been put to the test. It does look like it well work.
A mains operated ultraviolet bug zapper in a plastic housing and metal electrified ring around the ultraviolet lamp. There is an on/off switch on top and it comes with a small brush and crosspoint screwdriver.
The ultraviolet lamp lures the bugs towards it, so it best to use in a darkened environment or at night, and when they touch the electrified metal ring, they get zapped and fall dead into the base. You may have to brush some of the bugs from the ring, either way you can remove the base and tip the bugs out into the bin.
DO NOT touch the metal wire with your bare hands, or with a metal object when it’s switched on, otherwise you may get a minor electric shock.
A really useful device for keeping fly levels down in the kitchen, also good for mosquitoes in the bedroom and I even use one in the caravan. Campers can get a usb version for hanging in their tents.
I’ve been using these for many years now, they are the exact same principle that butchers use in their shops, and they are very effective.
I’m happy to recommend it.
