Alright I’m normally a skinflint and this blender is normally way outside my price range. I did read the Which blender reports and this one came out on top. I can really understand why. It is a superb machine and so easy to use. I have blended smoothies and soup in it and each time the results have been great. I have made the mistake of buying a really cheap blender from Currys and the first one packed up on me after one go and its replacement’s bottom fell out with hot soup going everywhere including my hand.
The reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars is simply that I find the blender quite noisy but apart from this I cannot fault it.
Really good blender but it’s pretty loud – just a note to anyone else who’s interested in the quiet mark – it’s not quiet
Otherwise no complaints
Pros – good and robust, easy to wash esp. as it is easy to dismantle and clean each component, setting with press button to operate is good better than having the earlier version we had where you press the container which eventually breaks the mechanism esp. if you are heavy handed.
Cons – the jug is large and more to the point heavy, I wonder if there was a way to have a designed a lighter jug without compromising on the strength and functionality. It is a bit noisy again can this be improved in future designs?
Overall it does what is says well
Have made everything from smoothies to cocktails and sauces. So easy to use – very solid bit of ki
This is an excellent blender. It works better than my previous blenders. I don’t understand why, but everything comes out smoother.
A big advantage is that it is less noisy than other blenders. It is still noisy, but noticeably less so than other blenders that I have had.
This may be a small thing, but the safety cutout is well designed. This means that you are not continually trying to get the safety cutout to stop cutting out. I had this problem with my previous blender that was always cutting out.
It is robustly made, so if you have hand or wrist problems, you may find the weight a problem. Initially, the lid can take some effort to open. It won’t open accidentally while you’re blending.
Very pleased with this purchase which I am using regularly.
An excellent blender. Easy to use with a self-washing option. I would highly recommend i
I purchased the blender in 2016 and thought I would leave a review. I have used cheaper blenders by big brands but non of them lasted very long and either the motor didn’t last or the materials used weren’t very high quality and snapped or broke. Although I don’t use the blender every day, I do use it a few times a week and it is still going strong.
The main jug is made from a very thick glass which I hope would withstand a small drop. It has had a few knocks when washing it and it hasn’t chipped or cracked at all.
I use the blender to either make soup from whole vegetables put straight into it or smoothies and milkshakes using either fresh or frozen fruit. The blender makes easy work of anything I put in. It doesn’t even sound like it struggles at all, it just blends it without any fuss.
I like how the blades are not sharp, I think it blends so well just from the power of the motor. I don’t feel cautious when I am washing it as it would be difficult to cut yourself.
I purchased the Magimix as it had a 3 year warranty but luckily I didn’t need to use it. Mine is still going strong 5 years later, some of the others I had purchased previously from other brands were lucky to last 5 months!
Super powerful and blends beautifully. Free grinder attachment (part of promotion) arrived about a month after purchase as promised. Grinder not quite as good as blender – leaves bits lumpy – but it was free so who cares!
Purchased to replace a 20+-year old blender that was on its last legs.
Purchased in summer with the aim of making smoothies. It is absolutely fantastic for smoothies: blends fruit, frozen fruit, ice, and anything else very finely. We have also used it for soups sauces, hummus, and pesto. Excellent performance for all of these.
This machine is very large—much larger than our previous blender. Not a problem for us but if your kitchen is small take note.
It is easy to clean but unscrewing the blade assembly from the bottom of the jug can require some effort.
Amazon is asking me to rate “sheerness”. I’m not sure what this means. A gentlewoman’s unmentionables might be sheer, as might a neglige, but this blender is robustness incarnate: nothing sheer about it at all. Perhaps Amazon is enquiring about transparency. If so then yes, the glass jug is, as is typical for clear glass, certainly transparent enough to assess progress in pulverisation.
Solidly built to professional quality and worth the extra cost because you feel it will last a lifetime. The jug, being glass is very heavy so wouldn’t suit a frail user perhaps, but it makes it easy to clean and as well as having a self cleaning facility, all parts except the base are simple to disassemble and aredishwasher safe.
Doesn’t blend as quickly as expected. Very heavy and feet tend to come loose as they stick to the surface.
Good product, stylish, multiple options. Blends very well, fairly noisy. Dishwasher safe. Can buy some great additions as well.
Only negative – Be careful popping lid open as parts of whatever you are making can fly out and cause a mess.
Been using it every day for 2 months now, and I’m greatly satisfied with it. It’s really powerful, it can make nut butters, smoothies, soups with no difficulty. It feels really sturdy and good quality. If you want a great blender but don’t want to spend few hundred pounds on it this is your choice !
So pleased with the blender, so far I’ve made smoothies, crushed ice for slushies and nut butter. The blender has handled all of these with ease and it feels sturdy and well made. Buy it, you wont be disappointed!
This is a replacement for my top end, top brand blender of 20 years. I must say I’m impressed with how far technology has come! I never imagined there would be automatic settings, let alone with variable speeds, switching itself off when finished. How elegant! Our first smoothies this morning were PERFECT in texture. And I’m blown away by the automatic “cleaning” setting. (Just add warm water to the jug and press “cleaning” and after a smoothie there was no need to dismantle the blender and put it in the dishwasher.) And this is only a mid price blender! Well done, Magimix! I just wish I’d bought the model with the spice mill…
This blender is the bomb! So glad I went for this instead of a nutribullet.
I have used this product regularly and extensively for almost 3 years now and cannot find a single fault in it. You can mix literally anything Into it including ice.
Needed a new blender, mainly for soup making. Wanted one that blended the tomato skins (I don’t peel the tomatoes before using) to become part of the soup, without being bits of skin in the soup. This blender achieves this 99% of the time. Far better than the previous blender which left lots of skin bits not blended. Smoothies are also very good in this blender. A delight to use and fairly easy to clean makes for a very good product.
Really excellent blender, very powerful indeed. Much better than the ones in the 30 to 50 range which I’ve bought previously.
Our blender is mostly used to make protein shakes for my wife and I (pre and post workout). handles any ingredients we need and large enough to make two or three shakes at a time. together, we probably drink 15-20 shakes a week. Been using for three weeks and so far no issues. Previous blender was a Osterizer, which did the job well for 10 years, but the Magimix is an upgrade in that it is larger and more modern. The red finish is cool. Hopefully it’ll last 10 years or more!
A beautiful design, I guess if one follow the instructions and handle the blender with care, this product should last more than a few years.
I have used this blender for 2 years now and I would highly recommend. It blitzes my smoothies to a nice creamy consistency. It has an extremely clver desigh feature which allows you to pour the juice out of the corner even thought the top is square!!. Check it out and you will see what I mean. Highly recommend.
This is a well made and strong jug blender. It is heavy but then when crushing ice it never feels like it is going to break.
Great colour (red) sits well on the kitchen surface, no slipping.
My wife loves this item. She hasn’t left the kitchen since Christmas morning, which is fantastic. If it wasn’t for the occasional ‘blending’ sound coming from the kitchen, I could be mistaken for thinking she had left home. I live in hope
This is an excellent blender. Have been using it for a few months now and I’m really impressed. Its s lot quieter than my last blender and is far better at blending soups and smoothies. One tip for future buyers is that you should wet the seal round the lid as otherwise it can be difficult to fit and remove as it is a tight fit.
This is an excellent blender. Had read several positive reviews before purchasing, and I certainly don’t regret buying this Magimix.
Since 30 year I started cooking job, this year I brought a powerful blender that majimix. Heavy duty, heavy weight too..use both hands use it. Great product.
Absolutely great blender that I’ve used at least once a day(usually twice) for protein shakes. Tackles ice no problem on the 2nd setting. Delighted with it!
Really like this little machine. Excellent for Bullet coffee Love the glass jugReally like this produc
About three years ago, something embarrassing happened to me. I followed a trend.
Yeah, yeah, I know – first world problems and all that. I was trying to have a bit of a health kick at the time and had read a bunch of things about the health benefits of smoothies, so I ended up buying an NutriNinja as bit of a knee-jerk reaction. It was a great little machine, but I quickly discovered that it had a few drawbacks. The worst of these problems for me was the noise it made – if I wanted to use it to make a smoothie in the evening (in preparation for taking it to work with me the next morning), I had to make sure I did so before 9pm because it sounded like I was using a frickin’ powertool! I also discovered that, as I got used to having a blender in the kitchen, I soon found that I wanted to blend larger quantities of stuff or hot soups, the Ninja just couldn’t do because it only had small plastic cups to blend things in.
At some point between then and now, the ‘Ninja got sold and I decided to give my kitchen a more suitable and eminently more useful upgrade in the form of a Magimix food processor which, if you’re in the know, is pretty much the ‘Rolls Royce’ of food processors (they did, after all, invent them) – and it is indeed a truly immense bit of kit, capable of turning onions and whatever you decide to feed into it into lots of tiny bits with zero effort and very little noise. It can knead dough, create nut butters, grate, slice and do all sorts of things and I use it daily but, ironically, it’s not super great at blending or making smoothies, so I began to hanker for a proper blender.
It would have been at around that point that I discovered that Magimix also made a blender, the and it immediately got the cogs in my brain turning. “What if”, I thought, “The Magimix Le Blender is as good as my Magimix food processor?”. Those cogs kept turning and turning and I procrastinated greatly over whether I should spend 150 on a blender, but as I kept reading articles on blenders I found that the general consensus on purchasing one was ‘buy the best one you can afford’. I procrastinated a little more and, as is my normal pre-purchasing ritual, I did some research to see what else was on the market at and around the same price bracket as ‘Le Blender’ and looked at the KitchenAid ones and the usual contenders such as the Kenwoods and Brevilles, but as I done my comparisons and read reviews I just couldn’t in all honesty see anything else that appealed as much or had as good a reputation as the Magimix. In the end, the final decision was an easy one and I grabbed a ‘Le Blender’ in red here on Amazon for the comparative bargain price of 142 and excitedly waited on it arriving.
>>>WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
The ‘Le Blender’ arrives in a plain looking cardboard box, which unveils a nice Magimix retail box once that’s opened, and inside that you’ll find a hardbound instructions/recipe book, the blender itself in three parts (the jug, lid and base unit), and a tamper – a spatula thingy for scraping the edge of the jug.
>>>FIRST IMPRESSIONS?
In the process of removing the various components from the packaging, the first thing that struck me about ‘Le Blender’ was the weight of the thing. Very much like my Magimix food processor, which is so heavy that it almost feels capable of forming its own gravitational field, the ‘Le Blender’ is similarly hefty. I’m a true believer of the old adage that weight equates to quality – so this pleased me greatly, even though it was not unexpected. The borosilicate glass jug is chunky and seriously substantial and the base unit feels about the same weight as a red brick, so you’ll have to take care that you don’t drop them on your toes. The sheer quality of this blender is evident even before you turn it on and do anything with it.
When it comes to the aesthetic qualities of ‘Le Blender’, it was unabashedly a case of ‘love at first sight’ for me. Even though it looked nice enough in the photos here on Amazon, I couldn’t help but feel struck by how gorgeous it actually is in the flesh. This is definitely not the sort of kitchen gadget that you’ll want to hide away in a cupboard. Nope, you’ll want this sitting pride of place on your kitchen worktop, where it will revel in the admiring (and potentially jealous) glances from your friends and family.
Moving onto its controls, ‘Le Blender’ shares the ‘Auto’, ‘Stop’ and ‘Pulse’ buttons on the front of its base unit that you’ll also see on other Magimix gadgets and has got a honking great dial above those buttons, which you can use to adjust the speed or choose from four automatic settings for ice, smoothies, soups and desserts. It’s very, very simple to use and, as is to be expected, the controls all feel of a very high quality.
The included hardbound recipe/instructions book is really nice too and contains a bunch of recipes. Granted, a few of them aren’t vegan but it should be simple enough to ‘veganise’ them!
There are other thoughtful and practical design touches on ‘Le Blender’, such as the integrated cable-wind underneath the base unit and the small measuring cup built-into the lid, and when it comes to the question…
>>>IS IT EASY TO CLEAN?
…The answer is a resounding ‘Yes!’ I remember my mum used to have an old blender which was a total pain to clean because the blades, which were in a recess at the bottom of its jug, could not be removed. This meant that if she wanted to clean the bottom of it she had to do so by poking a cloth into the recess, which was rather tricky to say the least.
Rather thankfully, this is not the case with ‘Le Blender’, because those clever French designers at Magimix have made cleaning it ridiculously simple to do. The bottom of its big glass jug unscrews and you can remove the blade assembly (the ring, the blade plate and rubber seal) from the bottom of it with almost no effort at all, meaning that it can all be thoroughly cleaned after each use
Before I actually used it in earnest, I gave the blender a good hand clean. It’s also possible to clean it by popping some warm water and washing up liquid into the jug and giving it a good whizz for thirty seconds.
>>>BIG JUGS!
While I’m on the subject of the jug (and apologies for that heading), it’s worth pointing out that you can put up to 1.8 litres of stuff in it, which is larger than the average blender’s jug and means that you can blend soups and things in fairly large batches. Because it’s made of borosilicate glass – a special type of glass that’s really strong and resistant against temperature changes – you can blend hot and cold things in it without having to worry about damaging it.
Another cool thing about the jug is that in addition to the measurement of litres on it, you also have measurements for Pints, Oz, and Cups – which should come in handy if you’re using the blender with recipes which are in US measurements.
>>>IS THIS BLENDER NOISY?
Well, ok. Let’s put this another way: ‘How noisy is it’, because by their nature, blenders not usually quiet and the noise level from it will change depending on what you’re blending in it. I can however definitely say that it’s not obscenely noisy and you can have a conversation while it’s blending without having to raise your voice.
That said, I have noticed that it does create quite a lot of vibration – when I’m blending stuff in it and it’s on my kitchen worktop, I’ve noticed that I can feel the floor vibrating beneath me when it’s at speed ‘2’ and that the level of vibration varies depending on what speed the blender is running at, but this is again probably a common thing shared by most blenders
Describing the actual noise level from it is difficult to put into words, but I’d say that it’s probably along the lines of the sort of noise you get out of a something like a hairdryer or a (quiet) vacuum cleaner, if that helps!
>>>CAKEY BAKEY TIME!
The next thing (and with proper preparation this time) I decided to make in my new toy was a vegan cheesecake. It was actually quite good fun as it meant that I got to use my trusty Magimix food processor for the base of the cheesecake and then used ‘Le Blender’ for the sweet creamy cheesy bit
Into the jug went four tubs of vegan cream cheese, a tub of soy yoghurt, half a cup of maple syrup and various other ingredients, then I pushed the lid onto the jug and decided to control the speed manually, taking into account the fact that the recipe states not to blend it too quickly or else air bubbles would form in the mixture, leading to the cake cracking during the baking process.
I started at speed ‘1’ and slowly ramped it up to speed ‘2’, marvelling at how infinitely controllable the speed on this blender is in manual mode, as even the smallest twist of the dial results in an instantaneous change in speed, which is actually really cool.
After about 30 seconds, the cheesecake mixture looked like it had achieved an even consistency, so I poured it on top of the base and bunged it into the oven for 30 minutes. When it came out it had not split or cracked, so I let it cool and put it in the fridge overnight.
It was so lovely that the entire cake was devoured over the course of the weekend. Hooray for ‘Le Blender’!
>>>SUMMING UP
This is a fantastic piece of kitchen kit that ticks all of the boxes for me; it’s powerful, not too noisy, smart looking, simple to use and easy to clean and I reckon that it’s probably the best blender by far at this price point without going into the obscene prices that Vitamix charge.
The catch-line for Magimix products is ‘Built better to last longer’, and considering that there are people who have had their Magimix food processors for 30+ years that are still going strong, I have no reason to doubt that people will be saying the same about these blenders, which is something that’s rare to encounter in consumer electronics in this day and age. I thoroughly agree that you’re better spending a bit more to get a better product that will last you along rather than getting a cheap one that will burn out after six months – and with that in mind I have no doubt whatsoever in recommending ‘Le Blender’
Easy to use and clean, brilliant for blending hot shakes and crushing ice for cocktails
I really like this product for several reasons:
– Easy to use and clean
– Very powerful motor
– The Jugs are made of glass, which is quite rare nowadays
I’ve been using it for a few years now and I’m really satisfied.
I’ve blended many things and never got disappointed, although I must say that in order to have the best results the ingredients should be balanced, not too much not too little, and depending on what you’d like to blend you might need more or less water/milk/etc.
Recently I’ve seen that Magimix is selling new cups for this blender (400ml and 700ml)- unfortunately, they’re are made of plastic, which in my opinion is a bit disappointing, considering the effort to make such a good quality product.
I also understand that the decision must have been made on the assumption that they should be used when travelling/going to work/etc., which would make sense.
I really hope they come out with something like wrapped glass or something like that…
I’ve been using this blender for years on a daily basis. Tough and durable.
Great unit, has been working perfectly for well over 12 months so far.
UK based customer services (nice to be able to easily get hold of them) were brilliant when I made contact.
This is the most amazing product I have ever bought Through Amazon. This is my second. The first one worked tirelessly for 7 years. i don’t know how they do it but it got all the way to Zambia within 4 days of pressing go and the second order was close behind. It is a fantastic product at an affordable price. Super efficient delivery.
This blender is fantastic. It does everything with ease and is simple to use.
Solid and durable yet quiet in operation. Makes speedy work of blending soup. Excellent quality.
Fantastic, if you are looking for a heavy duty glass blender, this is it! Chews through dates and seeds in smoothies. Amazing!
Most people rave about the Vitamix (which I don’t doubt is a fantastic product); however, I am simply not prepared to spend 600-700 on a blender especially as my blender is not something I use all the time (I don’t drink smoothies everyday). I am very pleased with the purchase. I think it represents value for money as it does the job and is aesthetically pleasing.
Great product, a bit noisy , can’t be used after 10pm though because of the noise.
I bought this over a Nutribullet after reading the reviews and boy am I glad I did! Ok it’s more expensive than said Nb but the build quality is by far and away worth the few extra bucks.
I have literally blended the bejesus out of several heavily frozen objects with no problems whatsoever!
The jug is a beautiful hunk of solid glass and the lid is just as sturdy.
I believe Magimix are going to discontinue this model soon so buy one quick before they all sell. It will be a classic!
Bought as replacement for Kenwood BL740 which I’ve had for over 10 years. Unfortunately, the Kenwood proved too hard for me to repair. This Magimix does not seem as solid as my old Kenwood but it works well.
Pretty good. Can do nut and seed butters too, excellent customer service.. my motor burnt out (someone else used my blender incorrectly) and they picked it up and replaced base free of charge very quickly!.
Amazing blender! It’s very powerful and for what I use it for is perfect! Smoothies, soups and my coffee, butter and coconut coffee!! Amazing! Would recommend!
It does brilliantly so many jobs so that I do not know what I will do without it. Have been using it for more than two years now making frozen desserts, smoothies, soups, hummus, pesto. It works great.
Very good quality product. A very useful piece of kitchen equipment and has made our soup-making lives infinitely easier!
Love it! Does amazing shakes. Very powerful. Use this every morning. Also did hummus, all i old, acai bowls and soups with this.
Crushes everything perfectly and evenly, like nuts, frozen things, dates. Perfect!
Best mixer I’ve used soo far. Easily makes every thing to a smoothie. By accident my apricot smoothie was a little bitter, turns out the nutty core was part of the smooth smoothie, but a bitter part.
This blender is great for soups, smoothies and icy drinks, it copes with everything well.
It is easy to clean, and looks good. Would recommend to anyone who needs a heavy duty machine.
Expensive but very good and very sturdy. I like the rubber feet which keep it anchored on a kitchen surface.
Brilliant item – don’t bother with any other gadget. This makes smothies just as well as my nutribullet, crushes ife, soups sauces
Have been using this blender for a few months now. Very reliable so far and excellent quality!
This is the best blender/liquidiser I have ever had. Strong, powerful and not too noisy. I chose it because it had good reviews on Which. It is great for smoothies as well as soups. Because it is in glass, the jar is quite heavy, but glass is much better when making soups. It also looks smart in the kitchen and is not too noisy.
I am very happy with the blender. It’s robust and stylish.
I managed to pick this up via a warehouse deal for only 82! It was brand new as well so I am guessing someone messed up.
I love this blender it is fantastic! It’s powerful and blends things very well. Soups are like baby food smooth.
Does an excellent job of crushed ice and frozen daiquiri too.
My only problem that I have is it struggles with small amounts and only works well if it’s got plenty of food and water to work with.
Can’t recommend this enough!
This is just the BEST, I’ve got one & I love it to bits & I got one for my elderly mother, she has very weak wrists so I needed to make sure there was no difficult twisting involved in it’s useage. I am pleased to say that she is very happy with it too. The jug just lifts off & on, so no tricky twisting to engage or disengage it from the base, because the spatula doubles as an aid for undoing the blades from the jug (there are 2 slots for it to locate in) she can also manage this very well. The jug is heavy, but she can manage that too. This blender is extremely well design & solidly made, it is straightforward to use and clean & I love the preset auto modes, you just select on the dial, press auto & it does the whole thing for you, no guessing is it blended enough, it just turns itself off when it’s finished. The best thing about it is the thermo-resist glass, no need to wait for the soup to cool down or risk cracking the jug, hurrah!!!!
The blender is powerful, it has easily handled everything I have put in it.
It has various different modes which aren’t gimmicky, in my experience they worked as described.
The build quality is robust and it doesn’t look bad either.
Much love to my magimix, makes delicious milk shakes, batter, crushes ice, a very nice machine.
This blender is wonderful! The price is great too. Easy to clean, I love that it has a glass jug instead of plastic. I would recommend the Magimix to anyone who’s considering purchasing one.
Plenty of useful settings. heavy-duty glass jug and I’ve yet to find any foodstuff that hasn’t gone in solid and come out completely blitzed.
A brilliant product at a very fair price. Delivery was excellent. I’m very pleased. thank you.
This product was so good and such good value, I bought one for a gift.! I’m very pleased with Amazons service.
I did quite some research about which blender to chose and well, chose this one. I had it for a couple of weeks now and I am happy so far. It really does work very well, my smoothies and soups are much more creamy than with everything I used before. I also made my first banana ice cream in it which turned out great! Only thing that I don’t like, but that is in the nature of the being, is the cleaning and dissembling. Thankfully it is dishwasher safe, so I do that from time to time. If you have sticky stuff, it can’t be scraped off that well. I just add more liquid then and drink it :-). Btw it is not as low volume as you might expect it, Philips ProBlend for example is much quieter, but then again, doesn’t blend so well.
I find it a great value, but of course it must stand the test of time.
Perfect really. Did lots of research. Seemed this was the best. And it is
I love my blender nice and powerful to make my smoothies, soups, dips etc etc…
Excellent power horse! Perfect or everything blender related and experimentations in smoothies, soups, dips, deserts and other kitchen delights. It’s super easy to use and super wonderful easy to clean and keep in tip top condition.
It’s not an exaggeration to say this blender has changed my life. Which is to say, smoothies have changed my life. And this device is an exemplary smoothie maker!
Everyday, now, starts with a lemon, apple, and banana smoothie. Throw in a little lemonade and some ice and bang! Wakes you up, 3/5 day dusted! Get home, lob some apples, strawberries, and raspberries in and boom! I tell you, I’m regular as clockwork now, and zero complaints from Farmer Giles since I switched to the new regime. Oh, I should point out that I’ve stuck to my regular diet of bacon, eggs and…We’ll, more bacon, if I’m honest. These are just a welcome addition.
But enough about me – you want to know about the device.
It looks lovely, I went for the red.
It’s solidly built – I’ve had half a tub of ice-cream and ice in there and it doesn’t budge.
Let’s say, it’s quieter than you’d expect. It still scares our cat, but not as much as a hairdryer, say.
It’s got to be the easiest utensil to clean in our kitchen. Drink up the contents, half fill with water, one DROP of washing liquid, zap it for 30 seconds, and pour out reams of cleansing foam. Quick rinse, and you’re done.
All in all, get this. There’re cheaper, they’re likely to be underpowered. There’re more expensive, they’re likely to be catering class. This sits in the sweet spot. You shouldn’t be disappointed.
This is by far the best blender I’ve ever had. It was more than I’ve ever paid for a blender, but so worth it–both for it’s efficacy and its durability.
I frequently need a blender to make the stew base for my traditional cuisine, so the blender sees a lot of use. In addition, I’ve begun using it to make breakfast replacement smoothies–I really needed a blender that wouldn’t conk out when ice or frozen fruit was blended in it every morning. This blender has stood the test of my aggressive use beautifully. I have had it for over a year and it still works like new.
I love the glass jug, and the base is quite heavy, which is nice because it weighs itself down, rendering unnecessary holding the top down while blending (as is necessary with some flimsier blenders). It’s not quiet, though.
I’ll definitely replace it with the same in the future and would unreservedly recommend.
This is MUCH better than I thought it would be. Love the settings. I just set it to smoothy and off it goes while I do other stuff. The glass container is why I bought it, as I’m avoiding plastics and toxic chemicals, but it is a great blender. Haven’t tried it on other things, but if you want great smoothies from a chemical-free container, then this should suit.
Beautiful, well made, powers through most ingredients. It also Includes a handy recipe book in the box to get you started with full clear instructions. The jug is made from heavy thick glass, but I prefer that to flimsy plastic, can be cleaned quickly and easily, or jug unscrews for a more thorough clean, the top lid is rubber and pushes on to the jug part but you have to be pretty firm to seal properly, which again is a good sign it won’t leak, detachable measuring cup included on lid and also a handy spatula to get things moving along. Very happy with my purchase. a definitive yes from me!
Bought the Magimix after a lot of searching online and asking friends about other products they were using – namely the Nutri Bullet and The Vitamix model. Couldn’t afford the Vitamix but was told it works effortlessly and blends superbly and is used every day. The Bullet seemed to have some leakage problems but was also capable of blending. So I decided to go midway after reading the reviews on Amazon about this particular blender. I’ve used it every day since purchase (sometimes twice a day) and found it to do what I wanted – make smoothies for breakfast and also when I’m in a rush to get out with no time for a proper meal. It takes about 5 mins to chop and prepare then blend something for a filling smoothie. Does what I want, is a quality product, has a very heavy glass jug and came with a book including recipes and a note in French and English from the Managing Director, Edouard de Jenlis, offering help personally about Magimix products. It’s my most used kitchen appliance and can recommend it as an alternative to the other named blenders.
Brilliant. Quiet, robust and easy to use and clean. No leaks from top when on full power. Very pleased with it.
Very efficient blender with a solid feel, a welcome addition to our kitchen.
Great blender. Easy to clean. No need to spend more on the expensive commercial blenders if this is for domestic use. I use it every day and it works great.
Love this blender, it is very efficient, clear markings, easy to use and best of all really easy to clea
love it. Great smoothie and soup maker. We also use it for making frozen margheritas! 😉
Amazing. Big, powerful, imposing. You can tell that it means business, and when you use it you know that it does.
Brilliant blender! Very quiet motor compared to other blenders I have used – it’s not silent, but no motor is. Big sturdy glass just with large capacity is great. Very impressed by built in settings for Soup / Smoothie etc. just flip the switch and let it do its thing. You can also control the speed yourself should you so wish. Great build quality, feels like it will last a very long time.
Used this everyday for nearly a year and it is by far the best blender I’ve ever owned.
Looks stylish, extremely easy to use, easy to clean (jug goes in the dishwasher and lid/bottom is rinsed) and so never has that horrible blender smell, and of course it blends effectively.
The smoothie setting is very handy – alternating between faster / slower speeds and turns itself off. Perfect every time!
Certainly worth the price over the cheaper plastic versions.
Bought as present for my partner. She loves it. Has a number of ‘auto’ modes as well as manual speed settings. Creates great smoothies (family or individual size portions), soups, etc. Easy to clean as well. Permanent piece of equipment on the countertop. It’s heavy, but then it doesn’t tip over easily and the glass jug is suitably thick to withstand the blending.
Very good blender, I love the multiple functionalities. I usually start blending at the lowest speed which helps a lot in getting everything moving. I like having a glass jug rather than a plastic one, which is very big too if you want to blend for more people.
his is the Rocky of blenders. Glass jug is sturdy and large enough to do a family soup or batches of smoothies…
Amazing blender. Replaced it with a 400 high speed blender but actually preferred this one. Makes the perfect banana icecream too! Very good!
One year on and this little blender/ smoothie maker is still going strong. We are mainly using it to make green smoothies and milkshakes.. It used to make wonderful sorbets bug I guess the blade is not as sharp as it’s used to be, hence, we’ve stopped making sorbets. A little bit noisy but I guess all blenders/smoothie makers are not particularly quiet.
Wow this is great!
I used to have to stand next to the blender when making smoothies. Now I can put the ingredients in, select the smoothie setting and off it goes! It does all the different speeds required to make a perfect smoothie by its self.
I could walk away and come back when it does and pour it out.
Easy peasy!
Fantastic machine makes the process a lot easier 🙂
Great ! However sometimes when you have frozen fruits you have to constantly move them down with the spatula (if they don’t get crushed) but otherwise I love my smoothies !!!
Excellent product and at q good price saving of 30. The glass jug is a bit heavy to handle but is worth it. Fast delivery. Altogether a very satisfactory experience.
Best ever. It cost a few pounds more but worth every penny by a mile.
I don’t often write reviews, but I will with this because finding a blender that suits us and doesn’t burn out, grind or clunk after a year has been far more difficult than I thought.
We have managed to burn through 5 blenders in the last 3 years and we only use it for soups and smoothies, so we decided to go upmarket and pay extra for a reliable model. After all the extensive research we decided on the magimix.
The positives for us so far to date is that it is easy to clean, no, it is very easy to clean. The base screws off and the bits just dunk in the wash bowl and clean is complete.
Secondly the blending, pretty standard, seems very powerful and we haven’t used above the pulse setting yet as we haven’t needed to. So the good news is, it blends.
One of our biggest bug bears with any blender has been leaks and spills, especially when putting hot soups into the jug. The first time we used it there was a leak during its operation from the bung hole at the top, one little tap and leak stopped. Now when we use it – no leaks.
My only criticism and it isn’t really a criticism is the jug being square. It is heavy duty glass (preferable over plastic any day) and the square jug can make it awkward in a busy kitchen to turn and pour. BUT because it is square it pours easily out of the corner!
Win win.
Essy to use. Easy to clean. Delicious smoothies-try spinach and avocado with some fruit, lime juice and water. Gorgeous! The little one gulps it down.
I loved it!!! It’s a powerful blender that can chomp through a lot of things, I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to make smoothies.
My wife is really happy with this blender. Very powerfull and looks nice in our kitchen (very important for her!)
We have been using every morning since 8 months. It’s wirking perfect.
Was so close to ordering nxxxibullet for the missus but was put off by too many reviews questioning it’s quality. Went for the magimix. Solidly built, confident and powerful motor (stronger than bullet) and quiet considering. Absolutely smashes everything. Select setting and it’s programmed to blend at varying speeds that lets the ingredients settle then speeds up again or you have 4 flat out pulverise speeds.
Most important of all… The missus loves it. Also bought the excellent grinding mill from a magimix parts website. Amazon only sell the glass beaker but without the chopping mechanism. Naughty naughty. Beware.
Very pleased with blender looks a good piece of kit.
I bought this to replace my Breville blender, the Breville one was a good cheaper alternative but i decided to spend a bit more to get this one due to the positive reviews and extended functionality. The Magimix blender came well packaged and it is much heavier then I expected (which is a good!). The bottom motor is very heavy and the case is very strong, it sits perfectly on my kitchen table and i am not worried about it moving or falling when the heavy glass jar is put on top. The glass jar is well made and so much better than plastic ones and gives me assurance of the food safety. The programs offered are well designed, easy to make smoothies and soup. The smoothies comes out much more smoother than the only Breville machine and the soup is much more smoother than hand blender. Very happy with the results so far and the machine is so powerful. It is not as quiet as the induction motor offered on the Magimix food processor range, but i guess it is just the way it is for a blender…
Easy to use magimix blender, and compared with some other appliances it’s making life in the kitchen easy.
Recommend it for its sturdiness and simplicity, user friendliness.
Packaged and delivered with care, no complaints whatsoever.
We like many others, did quite a bit of research, before buying this blender. It is more expensive than many others, but certainly worth the extra investment! It is really strudy and the glass jug and rubberised lid are brilliant. We purchased this product due to the glass jug being able to handle hot liquid/vegetables, as we regularly make homemade soups, along with cold smoothies etc. The blender can be used manually – ie- selecting own speed; along with pre-set programmes ie: for making smoothies, soups etc. We are delighted with the blender and would recommend!
An excellent piece of kit. It is well engineered and does all it is supposed to do with ease.
If you want a blender that’ll make you perfectly smooth desserts, soups, milkshakes and smoothies in less than 10 seconds, this is the product for you.
Hands-down the best buy I’ve made this year. Absolutely fantastic product. Arrived within 24 hours, packaged well, came with very detailed assembly instructions/user guide, plus a bonus little recipe book that tells you what settings to use for smoothies/desserts/soups/solids/frozen foods and offers some tasty suggestions too. I’ve had this blender for a number of months now, and it’s still working like it’s brand new. It’s a little noisy at times, so not one to use when the kids are asleep, but it really does blend anything and everything with minimal effort.
I regularly dump a whole bunch of frozen bananas in there to make ice cream, and it blends them up no problem, whereas previous blenders often struggled with hard, bulky objects. Similarly it has no problem grinding/crumbing/desiccating nuts and seeds. I’ve worked my way through a small host of blenders in the past which inevitably gave up the ghost after daily use on tougher-to-blend foodstuffs, but the Magimix 11610 really does work (excuse the pun) like magic.
Yes, it’s perhaps a tad more expensive than most of us would like, but at the end of the day, it’s a high-quality product that’s going to last me a very long time, and it’s certainly getting used regularly enough to earn its keep. If you’re in a position to fork out the extra cash, ditch the cheap option and splash out on one of these, I promise you won’t regret it!
