Bought these as a gift for a 3 year old girl. Think these will grow more popular as her age increases. To begin with I made the structures while she smashed them. But she was soon able to work out the principles of different shapes fitting different spaces and the way they connect. I think this 100 piece set will see a lot of use and encourage creativity. The set itself seems well made. The only negative I have is the price. It is a lot but if you think about it, it works out 1 a piece. You could buy a smaller set, run out of the option to expand your creations, and then wish that you were able to purchase more at 1 a piece. Which you can’t. So you might as well take the hit to begin with. Overall, a good physical constructive toy to present to a child.

My kids love these. Great way to explore shapes, patterns and building. The solid colours do catch the light and sort of look like stained glass. However when my youngest steps on them, they sometimes sound like they are going to break or crack.
They are considerably more the kind with the hollow centre and I don’t know if it is worth the extra cost. But they get used often so I guess we are getting our money’s worth.

My 3 year old daughter has played with these for endless hours and these are by far our fave building toys. It’s amazing to see the things she can build and how she uses her imagination with her creations. These blocks have been parkades for hotwheels, rocket ships named Crash, Boom, and Fire (yikes), pony houses, and so much more. The only downside is the upfront price! Worth it though.

Do seem overpriced but can’t knock the quality. This is the second set I have purchased for my kids to allow them to big some mega structures.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI know I know you are looking at these reviews trying to justify whether you should pay this much for a toy that may just end up lying around in the living room. I took a step & bought these magna tiles and a couple months down the line my children (2.5 daughter & 4 year old son) are still playing with it. It is a brilliant toy, really well made and sturdy that are open ended. The children play according & manipulate the tiles into shapes and structures that they feel like making. It introduces them to science/maths/art/technology in a very fun yet innovative way. It is the type of toy that gets everyone in the family playing together which is always a bonus.

The recipient of this gift seems very happy with it. A great toy for little fingers with no fiddly fasteners just push the tiles together. Most adults seem to find it similarly fascinating. Something to play with now and add to later.

No-one will believe it but I have bought four sets of 100 of these. The kids love them so much it is the only thing they ask for at birthdays and Christmas. I have to say, this is an amazing product – it encourages creativity and is so well made – the tiles really do grip magnetically together. An absolutely wonderful gift.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMagna Tiles are the ultimate toy for a variety of ages. My 1.5 year old could build with my 3 year old. I have given these away as gifts and they were always a hit. They are very durable and well worth the cost. We have been using them for 2 years and will have them for years to come. They teach a lot of skills and are great for girls and boys too.

My kids love these tiles. The original tiles we bought are still in good condition 3 years later, and we’ve bought several sets because our kids use them them almost daily. I’d say these tiles are the best option for younger kids (2-4) because they build simpler shapes and the magnet strength is ideal. At age 5-6 something like magformers seem to interest the kids more because you can build more complex things.

Best brand of magnetic blocks. I taught kindergarten for 20 years and when these blocks came out they were a favorite with my class. They always surprised me with the creative structures they built. Every child that has played with them including my grandchildren love them. They are great for both boys and girls. You can never have too many. The more you have the more creativity you will see.

My son first used magna-tiles in his classroom. We ordered some for home, despite my initial hesitation over the price. I am very pleased with the quality of the product and am happy with the purchase when I see how much it has helped my son’s learning (e.g. two triangles make a square).

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExcellent product, already ordered a new 100 pc set. As the pieces match together very easily it’s very convenient to put the pieces pack to the box to clean the mess, as pieces go together almost automatically:) My only complaint is that the material used for packing is not so durable and there is need to buy a good storage box to store the tiles.

This was a real hit for my three year old grandson at Christmas. His brother (5), his cousins (7 & 10) also played a lot with it. Seems there was enough pieces to satisfy them all. I would very much recommend this as a creative and interesting childs toy.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThese tiles are brilliant, the children adore them…So do the adults! We purchased a box of 100 peices last Christmas and after a year of the being the most played with toy we have purchased another box for this Christmas. They are extremely durable, on close inspection they do scratch as would be expected but they still look good and ours take a lot of falls! I do think you need more than 100 peices, especially if more than one child is playing. At 100 a box they are expensive but you can see the quality in each tile. We’ll buy another box for sure!

I actually even bought an extra pack after his seeing his joy at playing with the initial smaller pack I’d bought.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI got a chance to try out one of cheaper versions of it at a play date and in mho the magnets stick better here. Other versions are a bit more exciting with options for wheels and windows, but I’d rather invest in a good quality toy that would last.

Could have left my review 6 months ago when we first purchased it, but I wanted to wait to see if the excitement will go away. Well, 6 months later, I can honestly say that this is the one toy the play with almost every single day.

It encourages them to be creative, think out of the box and find new ways to challenge their abilities. They learn about the shapes, stability, dimensions and much more.
A two y/o will focus on the colors and putting the lid on cubes, while a four y/o will build castles and pyramids! I’d recommend put all 100 pieces in a big clear box so kids will be able approach to it easily. It weights about 3 kilos so not to heavy to take with you on a long holiday.

Sometimes, the kids are just an excuse to play with the magna tiles, and we find ourselves building shapes instead of tidying them all up!

It’s a hit in play dates (although the amount is good enough only for 2 children) and it would make an amazing birthday gift.

Yes, it’s pricey (and the price never go down!), but I look at it as an investment. It’s durable, good quality and the fun never ends when you play with it. The tiles never break when someone accidentally step on them or even when they fall from the top of a 2 meters tower!

Out of all the Magna tiles models out there is recommend buying this one. 100 pieces is great amount (to start with) and the clear colorful tiles make it much more interesting to play! Definitely 5 stars!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersFantastic product that gets used daily by my 3 and 6 year olds. The only thing is that 100 isn’t enough! I chose these over the cheaper version because I thought these would be better. I’ve since felt the need to buy more, and not wanting to spend an extra 100, I opted for a cheaper alternative (Playmags). I have to admit that the cheaper ones are just as good, and are compatible with these. Giving these 5 stars because they’re an amazing toy, great quality, lovely colours (nicer than the cheaper ones), and every child who plays with them absolutely loves them!

How to build flat shapes for boxes and the making a box or tower to house his other various toys. Also loves to make symmetrical shapes and marble runs and used with his imagination. I have wanted Magnatiles for my daughter for ages but they are so expensive. I finally went to buy them for Christmas and got distracted by a Playmags deal, thought the cars and slightly brighter colours might be more appealing and purchased them instead only to find the magnets were horrendously weak. I returned them and asked other reviewers whether these would be any better and received so many reassuring responses I ordered them immediately. They arrived today and are truly amazing. I can’t stop sneaking them out of the wardrobe as my children sleep to have another look. They are just so compelling! I’m buying more. And am about to email Valtech to find out when the glow in the dark ones will become available.

These are awesome. I love playing with them, and so does my nephew (6). The links are pretty weak though, so it’s difficult to build a bridge, for example, but it’s doable. It is also very easy to clean up since all the pieces are magnetic and quickly stack up and align to each other in a neat and nice way. It’s actually fun to clean up! One more thing, it was hard to find a use for the long isosceles triangle, but maybe I just don’t have enough imagination.

We were told by our daughter’s nursery that she loved the Magna-Tiles they have and that they are the only toy that the children still like at the end of the year when they are bored of all the others. My three year old daughter loves them and now says that she is going to be an architect when she grows up. Amazingly her one year old sister and various girls and boys up to the age of 9 or 10 also absolutely love them too. We have had hours and hours of use from them, with no sign of their attraction fading yet.

These keep kids entertained for a long time. And adults enjoy them, too. It’s fun to build something and then collapse it and not have things fall all over the place. Many stick together. I love the variety of shapes, too. Great for light tables.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI bought these as a granny’s house special toy,(after a lot of soul searching justifying the price). When I first took them out of the box I was a little unsure as the magnets didn’t seem very strong, so that when you made a magnificent structure it easily fell apart.
But I now realise that if they were stronger a small child wouldn’t be able to pull them apart.
I presented them to the family on Easter Sunday afternoon. what a hit! My 3 year old grand daughter played with them for 2 hours non-stop and other grown up members of the family played with them even longer! My 2 year old grand son struggled to build much but very much enjoyed knocking everyone else’s down.
People were shocked when I admitted how much I had spent on them, but now unanimously agree that they were worth it.

Never has my kids been so happy for their new toys!! And me neither. Perfect for all ages.
And quick delivery without any problems.
Quiet sure a new deal will be made when here when new and more tiles are needed!

This is a great toy! Just use your creativity and and you can build anything. Very tempting for my daughters friends who come on visit and also babysitters (in all ages) love them – simply because they are interesting to play with.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought these earlier in the week after seeing a blog review of them as an excellent gender neutral toy. They were expensive but well worth the price so far as all three of my kids have played with them pretty much non-stop since they arrived.
They have already taken to building incredible 3D structures, everything from rockets to castles and pens for farm animals. My eldest daughter has taken delight in trying out different geometric shapes and is starting to notice things like the number of sides and what kinds of angles she can create. Even the youngest, who is almost three, is having fun creating towers and what he likes to call dungeons with them.
The colours are really attractive and the kids like the way the light shines through them, making their creations glow. The magnets seem strong and the plastic seems like it should be hard wearing.
We’ve only had them a week but I can see that this will be a toy that will grow with my kids and that they will continue to play with for a long time. I will almost certainly buy more of these so they can create bigger and more inventive structures.
    Highly recommend.

    Magnatiles are fantastic and educating.
My son loves them, and we have bought a packet at Amazon
earlier. We needed some more for a Christmas present,
and even though, it was the 10th of December, we received the
packet 3 days later!!! That’s the way to shop!

I,ve been shopping at Amazon.co.uk before, and I’m fully satisfied – again!
    service – thumbs up!

We bought these for my 4 year old, his nursery use them and all the children play with them constantly. My 7 year old played with them, I played with them. They make the most amazing structures, but then pack down really quickly and easily go straight back in the box they came in. Anyone with a box of lego will know why this is an advantage.
Appears to be an expensive product but actually it is used over and over again in a way that other construction toys are not.

This is a great buy. It gave our grandaughter hours of fun. And she still builds with it every day.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersFinally available in Europe! After reading rave US reviews about magnatiles, I first gave my children, then 6 and 3 years old, a set of 100 for Christmas two years ago. We have since added two more sets of 100 to our collection, despite the substantial cost of shipping from the US (which until now has been the only way to buy them). While expensive, they have been worth their value many times over, as they (along with lego) are the single most played with toy we have. They inspire and enable children (and adults!) to build the most fantastic structures: castles, cathedrals, tents, rockets, labyrinths, roads etc etc; often creatively mixed with lego minifigs, Playmobil people and animals, diecast cars etc. Children of all ages are invariably drawn to them; I have repeatedly had parents of visiting children ask where they can be bought. And now, finally, I can point them to amazon uk, where I have just bought our fourth set of 100 for my now 8 and 5 year olds to share this Christmas – they will be delighted!

(Sorry about the evangelical tone of this review (my first ever), but these are really a huge household favourite.)
